LA PATRONA:

Well, we now know the name of the new guy, Lucho Vampa. He's already reminding me of the character the actor played in Relaciones Peligrosas, where he was pretending to be a nice high school gym coach, but was really a druglord guy out for revenge and money. Here, he's some kind of swindler, having stolen Julio's wallet, and probably doing something tricky where they gave him $5,000 cash, and he deposited $10,000 in their account (just to gain their confidence). Yes, you could call him a confidence man (con man).

But he didn't reckon he'd end up in a backwoods sewer like San Pedro del Oro (or whatever the name of the town is, in a way, it's like small American towns where some powerful evil families run everything). I'm from a big city, so really I only know about this from movies :)

Now that Lucho is in jail with Gaston, he'll see the frontier justice of this sick little enclave. But being slick himself, he should be able to turn the town upside down! (I hope).

And now they're releasing Gaby? Ricardo's doing an inspection of the manicomio, so they're releasing Gaby and hiding Constanza. We're definitely getting closer to payback time!

MADE IN CARTEGENA:

No show Friday, so we'll have to wait until Monday to see if the theft of the Santa Helena is successful. As I said in a previous comment, I sort of hope it is. Not that I want the bad guys to win, but it opens up so many possibilities.

Flora's been told that once the Santa Helena is stolen, somehow that will help Cande. But it won't. How could Harvey keep up the farce? Would he disappear? Would Flora stop hanging out with Sofi? That would be suspicious.

And we know Flora and Vicente are eventually going to be drawn together. How would Silvia react? I keep thinking she's hiding something, could actually be a bad guy.

And what about Mireya? We know she has a hidden agenda, seemingly to get Vicente killed. But why? And would this stop if the Santa Helena were stolen?

Of course, if the theft is foiled, that's okay, too, they'd keep trying. But I LOVE the fact that there are so many possibilities, that we're up in the air, not stuck in some typical novela situation with amnesia, switched babies, or whatever. Yes, I really like this show.

LA PATRONA

Hombre - love your description of San Pedro; it really is a sewer. I think Lucho hasn't fully grasped the gravity of his position yet. But maybe Alberto will get him out of the slammer.

Lucia seemed very mature for a 4 year old and definitely Daddy's Girl. What a B!TCH Irene is!

I'm wondering if this is the child Ale will give Gaby since she may no longer be able to get pregnant (if the beat down Macario gave her didn't permanently sterilize her, Dr. Tuetra and life in the nut house would). Of course, Irene has to go!

I was so glad to see that Gaby isn't physically scarred after her 4 years in that hell hole. I'm sure she still has her sanity but will need time to regain mental and emotional strength. But her desire for revenge should be strong than ever!

Beth

LA PATRONA

Whew! They were kind of scaring us when Constanza shrieked at the sight of Gabriela. It sort of seemed like her face might have been ruined. But I expect she'll clean up quite nicely once she gets out and starts the revenge.

Alejandro is an idiot. He told Ricardo "Just imagine if Gabriela is innocent!" Like the thought just occurred to him that, while he was getting it on with Irene, she was in hell.

I want some major anvils to fall on Irene. Not only did she show up at the nuthouse to taunt Gaby, she put on this big show of how hot her sex with Ale is to torture her sister. I don't doubt they're having sex, but I expect she's fully aware that he still thinks of Gaby all the time. And she tore up the photo in his wallet!

I doubt if it will happen, but it would be terrific if Ricardo showed up right now, before they've had a chance to bathe and cure Gaby a bit.

One thing I really hope doesn't happen -- that Patti takes Alberto on again as her lover. The guy is pond scum. I liked the way Julio humiliated him over the big tip Lucho gave and sent him away for the big "deal" they were doing.

I'm a bit disappointed in the Lucho character. I had sort of hoped he'd be a good person, an ally for Gabriela. But he's a crook, so who knows where they're going with that.

I absolutely could not understand his "con". It was something about some money being "tinted" and other money not. Clearly, he was showing greedy Julio that he could double his money. He showed him a computer screen that showed the big profit right there. Unclear to me.

Ricardo wants to take Ale to El Chamuco. What's his angle there? His father and the rest of the lobos apparently got the mine legally, and it's been worked for a while. Viewing it won't make it clear that it belongs rightfully to Los Suarez.

I wonder if we'll see Max again. Francisca spoke with him on the phone about a big soccer game that could earn him a university scholarship. Not sure if they'll cast another actor for that role. And what about David? New kid?

La Patrona -

thanks Hombre, Beth, novelera for your comments on La Patrona,

I too was lost with what Lucho was doing, I was assuming he had some clever scheme going, but when he lifted Julio's wallet, that makes him just a petty thief.

and I too like it how everyone treats Alberto like one of the help, walking away and leaving him speechless.

and I was also surprised when Ricardo wanted to go to El Chamuco, but then didn't he explain, that he wants to requestion Alberto and Ramon (the two main witnesses) over Gabriela's case, and they both work there, but maybe Ricardo and Alejandro will learn more once they are there.

Ricardo is definitely crossing the line here, but since he is family, I wonder what Antonia and Anibal will be willing to do to stop him.

I was hoping Patti would break through Ricardo's trauma, but after 4 years.... not much hope I guess, I sure do feel sorry for her, there are not many rewards for trying to be a nice person in a novela.

Are they really releasing Gabriela ??? completely, or just letting her out of the catacombs, they can't just let her go, can they, she is a convicted killer and certified insane, and I'm sure they don't want her talking to anyone, the only way this could happen is if there is an accident waiting for her. Or maybe if they declared her sane, then she could now go to jail for the murders.

and how about Ramon showing up at Francisca's looking for a cure, then making a play for her, since Tigre's gone, "oh he's still here, in spirit, right over there", ha!, I almost feel sorry for the ever guilty Ramon sometimes, but then, he keeps siding with the bad guys, and making all the wrong decisions.

LA PATRONA

Thanks, Deb, I forgot that Ricardo was going to El Chamuco to interview Alberto and Ramon, neither of which is the sharpest knife in the drawer - so they may slip up.

I'm pretty sure Aníbal meant for Vampira to only release Gabriela from the catacombs. She was sentenced to the nuthouse by the judge, so something else has to happen for her to really be released.

After seeing how determined Ricardo was about investigating wrongly imprisoned people, Aníbal wants to cover his tracks by Ricardo not seeing Gaby a total mess physically. I AM afraid they'll drug her some more, unless Ricardo can manage a surprise visit somehow.

LA PATRONA

Ricardo's visit to El Chamuco will probably result in Ramon's having a melt down and then "disappearing". He has been the weakest link in the pack all along, and I can see them turning on him to keep him quiet.

From the advances, Gaby will be cleaned up for the visitors, and she'll be in the dayroom vegging out.

Deb, you raise an interesting point about Gaby's psychiatric certification. If she were found to be "sane", she could be transferred to the pen to serve out the rest of her sentence. We all know from other TNs that the lobos could more easily have Gaby murdered in prison than at the manicomio. With Ricardo's nosing around, Antonia and Anibal might be ready to just be done with Gaby.

And if Ale sees the medal Tigre gave Gaby on the nurse (and that's a BIG if), he might start asking questions that Ricardo could pick up on.

Ricardo and Patty are having a bad time of it right now, but I still have hope for them. Although our girl Patty was certainly out of control trying to seduce Ale. And can you believe it? For once he said "No!".

Novelera - I'm with you. Major anvils, an Acme safe, 2 ton boulders - all with Irene's name on them!

Beth

I really want to see how they're going to hide that thing in Mireya's fake belly! All those winding tendrils and all...

PASION PROHIBIDA

AdrianaNoel - I feel you ("JenCarlos Canela is to die for"). As far as i'm concerned, I am disappointed when B&B don't have enough scenes together. I feel like I don't have a life lately in anticipation of this show 5nights a week.

Pasion Prohibida

Shallowgal, I feel the same way about B&B barely having scenes together. It is very frustrating and now that Bianca is pregnant it will take even longer; I am sure she loses the baby, but how fast that happens, I have no idea.

The one scene they had together Friday was really good, they had a nice back and forth, tension is rising and Bruno is starting to lose himself in her presence.

The build up for this couple is very good; I gave up on many TN when I didn't find the chemistry between the leads strong enough. But PP is really starting to become my new guilty pleasure. When they do get together, it will be crazy hot.

PASIÓN PROHIBIDA

AdrianaNoel and Shallowgal, I am still watching. Funny. I expected to love this one and dislike La Patrona. La Patrona, for me, is the "can't miss" one.

I really like Monica and Jencarlos as actors and as a joy to watch because they're both so attractive.

But the plot of this one doesn't do much for me.

So if Bianca and Bruno fall into bed togther, does this mean Bianca is rotten enough to betray Ariel, who has treated her wonderfully and is actually an interesting man, not a dull rich guy at all?

Can't see how the writers are going to work this out -- usually the main characters are mostly morally good. So how do they solve B&B falling for each other?

Pasión Prohibida -

ditto novelera,
and I really fell in love with La Patrona instead,

and, Pasión Prohibida really isn't clicking for me,
even I have done more exciting things than these people,
although, I was really enjoying watching Flavia squirm the other night,
(Rebecca Jones does this part so well, I haven't seen her before, but I love her)

and I have even got to liking Nicolás,

and I have gotten used to Ariel's kind and forgiving ways,
not a person I would ever hurt,
he may be a rich guy, but it's all yours if you need it,

and thank you so much AdrianaNoel for putting together the recent developments between Bianca and her mom, I wasn't really getting all of that,

and now that we are getting closer to the prohibited passion part,
I find this a little scary,
because in real life, this has a way of destroying everyone,

but if it's one thing I have learned from watching novelas,
a gran amor, doesn't follow any rules.

La Patrona -

I've gotten to really like Constanza,
(Surya Macgrégor)

did I get this right,
she stole a key to get her down to where Gabriela was,
and now Gertrudis has her carted off for some cold water therapy?

but,
she is such a harmless person,
it appears she has the run of the place,
when she isn't being punished.

Pasion Prohibida

Deb & Novelera, the story is not the usual good girl - good boy fall in love, bad people stand in the way type. It is kind of the other way around. It is a messy, forbidden love kind of situation, that will most definitely end up hurting a lot of people.

Keep in mind the original is a turkish series, they don't follow the same guidelines as latin TN.I tried not to spoil myself watching any of the original and so far I am good on that promise.

I don't expect Ariel or any other character to do something that would excuse B&B's behaviour when something does happen between them. Instead, I see this turning into an excruciating love affair that God knows how it will end up.

I've watched many TN over the years, to many to remember, the clean, classic stories don't attract me so much anymore (except if the leads' chemistry is really good).

PP has me hooked so far because I don't see it turning into the same type of story we watch all the time. Think about Teresa or Rubi, they were different and yet, they had a huge succes.

I was looking forward to watching la Patrona, I even watched one or two episodes; I liked it, I planed to watch some more, but somehow that didn't happen and I don't know if I will get around to it now. I really like JL Pila, but one TN at a time is all I have the time for now.

LA PATRONA:

I think the key to getting Ale, who's arrogant and useless in helping Gaby-even novelalounge is saying Gaby needs a new galan, is to see him as Mr Rochester from Jane Eyre and not Mercedes in The Count of Monte Cristo. I think he's gonna suffer in the next etapa as Francisca's spidey senses are never wrong in this TN. She said Ale's first punishment is being stuck with a woman he doesn't love and as traitous as he and his mother are. An anvil, but not death is heading his way just as Mr Rochester suffered in Jane Eyre for nearly turning Jane into an adulterer and a bigamist.

MADE IN CARTAGENA, Lunes, Part 1

Flora stares at the Santa Helena in its glass case. She can't do it. Harvey yells at her over the mike, c'mon! She enters the codes Jhonny gave her for the case. The first time, she goofs, nothing happens. The second time, the glass case opens, and there it is. She's still frozen. Harvey gives Mireya the okay to go into the room. The security guard has left her to get some water, so she has some time. She enters the code for the room, enters, tells Flora to take it, already! With shaky hands, Flora takes it out, hands it to Mireya. Mireya instructs Flora to get fingerprints all over the glass (but fingerprints of the surgical gloves, don't know why this is needed). Flora next has to open her purse and get out a little exacto knife, and she accidentally cuts her left hand! She winces, then cuts a slit in Mireya's fake belly. The treasure is slipped in, and both ladies go back up on deck. But we see on the floor, a few drops of Flora's blood!

Back on deck, Sofi has told Pablo she has to be honest with him. Does she say she doesn't like him? No, she tells him she uses drugs. Rather than be understanding, Pablo is greatly upset by this, lectures Sofi on the dangers of it (seems strange to me, since he's close with Marcos, who also uses drugs). Sofi realizes she's wasting her time with this goody two shoes, and walks away.

It's time for the presentation. But just before Vicente makes the announcement, Mireya screams out, she's going into labor! Jhonny calls an ambulance, which arrives quickly, and Max, with a surgical mask, along with Jhonny, hustle Mireya into the ambulance, which speeds away. Vicente then announces the pride of Colombia. Ladies and gentlemen, I give you the Santa Helena! The glass case rises up from the deck below, but it's empty! It doesn't take Imanuol and Vicente long to figure out that the pregnant lady, whom no one knew, must have taken it. Vicente isn't too upset, he's got some ace up his sleeve. They had implanted a homing device in it! But of course Mireya and Max discover it, and by the time the cops catch up, a mouse is walking around wearing it. And the ambulance. Sure, they find it, but it's empty. The crew also had Blatcho driving an identical ambulance, further throwing the cops off. So that's it. The Santa Helena's gone!

MADE IN CARTAGENA, Part 2

Imanuol is upset, but says the woman must have had an accomplice. And we found some blood drops on the floor. So at least we have something! Meanwhile, Flora has tried to hide her bleeding hand, wiped it with a cloth napkin, which she put in her purse. She refuses a lift home, saying she's so upset she'll just take a taxi, and drops the purse in a trash can along the way home.

While all this is going on, we have more drama. Sabroso has collapsed, and Celina and Watusi get a doctor to see him. Turns out that due to the guy on motos (Blatcho) who crashed into Sabroso, he's going blind! He needs a retina operation, which costs $10,000.00. Where will Watusi or Sabroso get THAT kind of money?

And Dixon is given a sharp tongue lashing by Harvey. Don't you say a thing, or else. Remember what happened to your father (I think Dixon thinks he abandoned the family, but the truth may be that he was silenced). Dixon asks Harvey for a job, but Harvey says you have to prove yourself, show me you have some cojones. So Dixon promptly robs an expensive motorcycle. Small world department, it's Marcos's moto! He delivers it to Harvey as a gift. Harvey ain't pleased, saying “you idiot!” But when Flora then walks in, Harvey says it was going to be for Robinson, and now Dixon can drive it. He even gives Dixon some money for gas. Flora's suspicious, but can't figure out what's really going on. But she begs Harvey, I've done my job, now what about Cande? Harvey tells her that's all going to get resolved now, thanks to you (I don't see how). Flora asks, am I free now? Yes, says Harvey, giving her an envelope of cash, which she refuses. But she says shes leaving town.

Harvey, Mireya, Max, Blatcho and Agua Mala celebrate with champagne, they've done it! All their problems are over, now that they got the Santa Helena. I don't THINK so!!!

Pasion Prohibida
Monday

Bruno's uncle from Columbia is dead, so he and Ariel go to Bogota, for the funeral.
Ariel tells Bruno that Bianca is pregnant; Bruno is shocked, but concludes that it is for the better for everybody (especially for him, since maybe pregnant Bianca won't tempt him so much).
We find out a little bit more about how Bruno came to live in Miami. The dead uncle from Columbia was his father's brother, but he didn't want to take care of a child, so Ariel stepped in.
They are really making it clear that Ariel practically saved Bruno's life. His betrayal will be awful. This is a train wreck waiting to happen and it is getting very difficult to watch.

Later that night Bruno phones Bianca; he doesn't talk to her, he just listens to her voice. Oh, boy, he really can't help himself.

In the meantime, at home, it is all about the servants. Camila and Katia fight, Bianca orders Camila to stay in the same room with the fat girl (sorry, I can't seem to remember her name). Camila, in a rage, insults both Bianca and her mother; Bianca overhears her and throws the entire family (Camila + parents)out of the house - after Flavia pushes her buttons a little, too, on the fact that the servants don't respect her.

Bianca really shows her claws in this episode. Monica Spear is enjoying this very much, but I feel she overacted a little here; she is a natural for this type of roles, I think she could tone it down and obtain the same effect.

Bianca also has some altercations with Mademoiselle, in the same "I am the queen of the manor" style from before.

We also get to see that Bianca is conflicted about having a baby because she is afraid that would only make the situation in the house more difficult for her. At this point I don't think she shoudl worry about what a child might do to her matrimonial bliss. When Ariel comes home, he will not like what she did one bit. And wait until Nina finds out, too...

PASION PROHIBIDA

Daaang... Bianca turned into Cruella DeVil there for a minute. She probably had to, to make a point. Serves Camila right.

Oh Bruno... so handsome... sigh.

MADE IN CARTAGENA -- lunes

What an exciting episode! Loved your recap, Hombre.

I was hoping that Imanol HAD changed the code to the urn -- but no such luck.

We finally got to see the Santa Helena up close -- it's so small! That's how it fit into the fake belly. I loved the detail of Flora doing a C-section on Mireya (too bad the knife didn't slip at THAT moment rather than earlier.)

I suppose the fingerprints planted on the glass are meant to implicate someone else -- I would guess Jhonny since he's an obvious patsy and his prints would be on record. Flora's blood tracks back to her but only if her DNA is on record. And there's no reason why it should be, right?

So I'm thinking Watusi is likely to approach his only rich friend, Vicente, for the money for Sabroso's operation.

LA PATRONA:

Eating cockroaches? Yes, Lucho succeeds in making them think he's crazy, thus being transferred from the jail with no exit, to the nuthouse, at no charge (although he may get quite a charge out of it, if he doesn't follow the rules).

And it sort of looks as if Gaston might get out.

Gaby? Still a ways to go, even with her hair cut, she's almost totally zoned out. But Constanza points out, a crazy person wouldn't cry (I'm not so sure this is medically proven). She perks up a bit when the name David is mentioned, later at Ricardo.

BTW, Ricardo and Paty's kid is named little Ricky. But she's moving with him to Mexico City, so maybe we won't see them for a while.

Yes, I'm now pinning my hopes on a guy who eats bugs.

PASIÓN PROHIBIDA

AdrianaNoel, thanks so much for your excellent recap.

This was a very exciting episode, almost a Friday type.

The fat girl's name is Tere.

Bianca is screwing up right and left. In the first place, she should recognize that Flavia and Katia are behaving in a way to drive the existing staff crazy.

Except for Camila's boneheaded move with the earring, things were fine with the staff until those two moved in.

Bianca should be smarter than this. I think this is bad writing. She was presented as the sister who totally saw her mother for the witch she really is. Instead of being smart, she allows her mother to goad her into feeling she has to assert herself with the servants.

The family headed by Saloman is practically part of the Piamonte family, and Ariel is NOT going to allow them to leave. Sparks will fly.

The subasta (auction) of the contents of Flavia's house will be interesting. She's talked about raising enough money to move somewhere else with Katia. I doubt this will happen. She's likely to keep ruining the harmony in Ariel's household for quite some time. Although she did say she wanted to give the relationship with Ivan a chance.

LA PATRONA:

But I DID like how Romina immediately fell for the handsome Lucho. Of course she's digging her own tomb by this, may end up with the same treatment Gaby's getting, if she's caught.

LA PATRONA

I'm with you, Hombre, banking on the bug eater. I'm pretty sure he'll get Gaby out of there. What I don't understand is how she gets to be La Patrona herself, which is likely where the novela is heading. If she escapes, she's still a convicted felon. How will she get El Chamuco back with that hanging over her head?

They haven't shown David in this 4-year time skip. Will it be another kid playing the role? I hope so! That kid's face is annoying.

What they did with the cockroaches was really, truly gross. They made a crunching sound as he ate them. Are cockroaches in Mexico really that big? I had some once in an apartment I lived in early in my marriage. They were much smaller!

I don't think Patti is moving to D.F. as a permanent thing. Ricardo told her she could have an affair if she didn't rub his nose in it by doing it in San Pedro del Oro. So I think she's going short-term to get her ashes hauled.

I'm surprised we haven't seen a scene with Alberto trying to stick his nose in with Little Ricky.

It's taking way too long for anvils, Acme safes, and pianos to fall on the head of Doctora Vampira. I remember when they first showed her asking Aníbal for some money, blackmailing him. I was thinking "Eeeww, this guy surely has poor taste in amantes, since they hadn't yet shown what was really going on there.

LA PATRONA

Another hard day/week/month for Gaby! The poor woman has been tortured and humiliated in every possible way. There's going to be a special place in hell for the one-eyed b!tch doctor.

Constanza is wonderful, so gentle and caring in ministering to our heroine. And you can see glimmers of our old Gabriela by the look in her eyes and the way she very softly took Constanza's hand. Loved the way she tripped nurse ratchet!!

As annoyed as I get with Ale, I did feel sorry for his horror and grief when he witnessed Gaby's turmoil in the dayroom.

What a lousy "interview" Ricardo did with Gaby. He didn't even ask to talk with her in a room away from the other patients. Not very good lawyering. But it does keep Gaby in the nuthouse legally (and gives us plenty of time for Lucha to cozy up to her).

And what to say about Lucha - he may have out-smarted himself thinking it would be easier to escape from the manicomio than from prison. I had a hard time with the cucaracha crunch, but I loved the gagging inmates in the background.

Lucha does have street smarts. Bedding nurse ratchet 5 minutes after arriving at the nuthouse was very sly, even if she has figured out that he isn't crazy.

My CC was not working properly when Patty announced she was taking little Ricky to Mexico City so I wonder what's up with that. Divorce?

And Irene looked suspicious when Ale and Patty hugged and Patty whispered something to Ale.

So glad that Gaston will be out of jail. I thought it odd that he didn't say anything to Ricardo about the letter - or maybe he did and I just didn't catch it.

Beth

LA PATRONA

I don't really watch this, but I get the gist of what's going on. I did see the episode where Lucho got thrown in jail. My first thought was he probably did this on purpose, so somehow he could get to Gaby and help her... just my 2cents.

LA PATRONA

Beth, I have a feeling Lucho Vampa chose the nuthouse not necessarily for ease of escape, but to befriend Gabriela. Gaston told him that the rightful owner of El Chamuco mine was Gaby, and he's all about the money - at least up to this point.

As I mentioned in my earlier comment, my understanding is that Patti is only going to DF for a short visit. Nobody has mentioned divorce. She's just too hot blooded to live the celibate life with Ricardo, even though he was honest with her going into the marriage.

Pasion Prohibida
Good to see another member of the Pasion Prohibida "fan club": AdrianaNoel, thanks for posting comments and also for the nice recaps. I agree that Bianca's scene in the kitchen was a bit over the top. How would she let her mother push her buttons like that? Pero bueno. I enjoy watching this very much. Wonder if Nena will eventually become a rival for Bruno's affections?
J in Oregon

PASIÓN PROHIBIDA

J in Oregon - I do believe Nina will be a rival - eck!; they always show Bruno with red flowers, with Bianca and Nina on either side of him.

Pasion Prohibida
Shallowgal: Ecckkk is right! If true, it will be difficult to overlook Nina's self centered, immature behavior. It's easier to forgive Bianca's flaws because...well, she seems regal.
J in Oregon

What happened to the "El Rostro" recaps? It seems as though some revelations have been made, dying to know
what they are. Would be so grateful for a translation.

PASIÓN PROHIBIDA

LOL!! J in Oregon. Regal Bianca is right. Somehow, she doesn't irk me at all; mostly I sympathize with her.

It'll be hard to see Nina as a woman, with her skinny legs and all. She has the body of a 14year old.

MADE IN CARTAGENA – Martes Part 1

It's a fake! Yes, Vicente has fooled everyone, including Imanuol and Silvia. We first find this out when Calbache comes to get the Santa Helena. Harvey gets out the booze, let's celebrate, he unveils the Santa Helena with a flourish. Calbache takes one look at it, what are you trying to pull? Huh? Harvey is floored. All that planning, everything went off perfectly. And what about all my expenses? Calbache shoots back, what about all MY expenses? You OWE me. And let's face it, your adversaries are just smarter than you. So I want some payment. Here's your choice. Either give me the Basurto, or the life of one of your crew!!! OMG. Harvey offers properties, ranches, but no, either he has to give up the nightclub, or let Calbache kill one of his band, who are like a family to him.

Meanwhile, Jhonny calls Max, where's my dough (by the way, no one in the crew knows it's a fake except Harvey at this point). Max says I'll bring it to the gallery. Max sort of likes Jhonny, but knows he has to kill him. Blatcho kids him about killing his gay lover, and Max gets so po-ed they pull guns on each other. He meets Jhonny at the gallery, and gives Jhonny a suitcase full of cash. Jhonny is so happy, let's live together! He makes a quick call, it's all set, we can live out our dreams! He looks up. Max is pointing a gun right between his eyes. No, but....and fires. He fires again on the body to make sure. He later packs Jhonny's body in a bag, puts the money back in the attache case, and moves on out. Who knew Jhonny's gallery would turn out to be a shooting gallery?

Pablo apologizes to Sofi for criticizing her about the drugs. He really wants to help her. Maybe she'll let him.

Mireya thanks Agua Mala for giving him the little microphone. He wants a date with her as his reward. She's first suspicious, thinks he may have played it back and knows her secret. But apparently he didn't. She says she'll meet him in the warehouse in a half hour for some nookie. But she's dodged a bullet again!

Before finding out the truth, Imanuol tells Vicente and Silvia the only lead they have is the blood. It doesn't match any criminal, so it had to be one of the guests. They could ask all the guests to come in and give a sample. Don't trust anyone. This is when Vicente tells him the Santa Helena that was robbed was a copy.

MADE IN CARTAGENA, Part 2

Imanuol is so upset that Vicente didn't tell him the Santa Helena is a fake that he quits. This seems a bit unprofessional to me. Silvia says he'll be back, he just needs to cool off. And besides, you two are friends. But tell me, where IS the Santa Helena? Vicente takes her out on a boat to the middle of the bay. They go diving down, and there it is, in a case about 25 feet under the surface! Wow. They retrieve it, I guess it's going back to the bank. On the boat, Silvia bugs Vicente about why he's so obsessed with the Santa Helena. He admits, because of his wife. She inquires, you still love her, don't you? (I'm thinking of COURSE he does, he always will, she'll just have to live with it). But she keeps pressing, and this isn't really endearing her to Vicente, if you ask me.

Flora's getting ready to leave. Her Mom, Belén (it may be Balén), has a tantrum, how can you do this to me? Belén acts more childish than Flora at times. Certainly more selfish. Flora just can't bear to be here now, after losing her boyfriend, the dance contest, she needs distance. She breaks her piggy bank, calls the bus station, when's the next bus for Bogotá? She goes to say goodbye to Sabroso, apologizes for leaving him when he needs her, gives him the coins from her bank, which he tries to refuse, but she urges him to take them for his medicine, it's not that much anyway. Celina enters, is her usual self, dumps all over Flora, bragging about how Watusi chose HER. And she's living here because Sabroso needed someone, which Sabroso admits. Watusi shows up, and Flora asks him, is it true? You chose Celina? Tell me to my face. Typical male Watu can't seem to figure out how to make his mouth work. Flora leaves, eyes filled with tears.

But she'll be back!!!

J in Oregon, glad you brought up Nina's affection for Bruno. Am I the only one who thinks her love for him is totally incestuous? I know they are not related, but they were raised like brother and sister.
Before Mademoiselle talked about this with Bruno, I never saw anything there, even if I normally have a radar for this type of things. Now, whenever they interact, I get the ick factor, especially since Bruno knows how Nina feels. The other day, when they were playing in her room, jumping on the bed and whatnot, I found it really disturbing.

I, too, am sure this will become a triangle, or better yet, quad, if we involve Ariel, too...
I think Nina will go through a transformation, in some of the in between scenes she looks more mature.

But as far as Bruno goes, I find it hard to believe that he could actually fall in love with Nina, when he has Bianca all over the house, looking drop dead gorgeus and resisting him (nothing better to turn him on).

Pasion Prohibida
Tuesday

The servants leave the house; Camila annoys me on a constant basis and Celeste is just blah, but Don Salomon really made me feel soryy for him in those goodbye scenes with the kids.

Flavia warns Bianca that she shouldn't have fired the servants, that she took things to far. But Bianca is obviously not as calculated as her mother, because she is sure Ariel will side with her.

The auction for Flavia's things doesn't go well, nobody wants to buy her stuff. Flavia tells Bianca she wants to be with Ivan, to have a new chance at love; Bianca is against the idea, but I agree with Flavia on this one. Bianca should just let her mother go, have her life with that man, maybe this way she won't be up in her business all the time.

When Ariel comes home, all hell breaks loose for Bianca. They have a big fight and he goes after Don Salo& family; he tracks them down and comes back to the house with all of them. He spends the night in his work shop, he is very upset with Bianca. She goes to Bruno's room, to welcome him back home. He congratulates her on the new baby. They hug, some sparks fly, but that is the end of it.

The next day Bianca gives a tabloid journalist a photo of Ivan; she wants the scandal of Flavia's affair to stop her mother from moving in with her lover. At the very end of the episode, she calls her doctor, she wants to have an abortion. I don't believe that is the best way to endear herself to Ariel. But at least that means she is not completely like her mother, after all.

La Patrona - Tuesday

a picto summary here...
http://foro.telenovela-world.com/n4/read-t.php?f=1235&i=2031&t=2031

MADE IN CARTAGENA:

Thanks Hombre for the well detailed recaps. So the Santa Helena they stole was a fake. Wow! I don't want to play poker with Vicente - he'd probably win every hand.

Because of Belen's childish outbursts, half the time, I always wonder about Flora and Belen, which is the mother and which is the daughter.

LA PATRONA:

Thanks, Deb, for the great pictorial summary. Milagros is going to need a milagro to get out of this one. Too bad Lucho couldn't delay Romina more. And Milagros walking along with the letter out in her hand...oh well.

Anibal and Antonia don't want to kill Constanza at the clinic, cause she wasn't supposed to even be there. So first they're using the new truth drug to make her reveal who she gave the secret document to, and then they'll get her out and stage an accident, I guess.

Gaby had better try to keep acting crazy, even though we know she's much better now.

I'm hoping Francisca and Gaston will eventually be a couple, as they're both nice, and both suffered a terrible loss.

Ricardo should be able to press charges against his father for false imprisonment of Gaston and manipulating the records, but he says as a senator, Anibal has "immunity". I'm not sure if that was real legal immunity or just as a practical matter, they can't convict him in this town he controls. I'd think Lagarto and others could also be charged, but we know that won't happen. Gaston could even file a civil suit. Won't happen.

Same thing with Gaby, if she ever gets out. So if the bad guys use frontier justice, that's how they'll get their payback.

I just watched the Clint Eastwood movie Pale Rider, in which corrupt rich people terrorize a town and some nice miners. It takes a mysterious hero to render payback, since the law was not working. Our show may be similar (although Lucho's no hero, he just wants the money!)

PASIÓN PROHIBIDA

J in Oregon/AdrianaNoel - Nina is so unsuitable for Bruno; he shouldn't be so encouraging especially now he knows she likes/loves him.. gross!

geez, I sincerely hope Bianca does not go through with the abortion. dunno if in the original version that she does, but I am so praying they don't completely mirror that one in it's entirety.

Pasion Prohibida

Nina is gross, and Brunos should know better. He is obviously not mature enough to see the ramifications of this situation.

I hope Bianca doesn't go through with the abortion, too. Maybe somehow Ariel finds out and stops her.

If she gets rid of the baby this will put a permanent strain in her relationship with Ariel. Maybe this will be what pushes her to Bruno's arms?

Whatever it takes, heh? (no, just kidding, I am pro choice, but in a TN, I rather things be kept a little more traditional when it comes to certain things - although right now I am totally rooting for a certain cheating affair to start already! LOL)

La Patrona -

thanks so much Hombre for clarifying what they are planning with Constanza,

I remember Pale rider,
Clint wasn't actually what I would call a sympathetic character,
but he got the job done,

ok, so this was episode 31, maybe a hundred more to go, eh?
I found a website (SparkNotes) that has plot summaries, etc., of books and read up on,
The Count of Monte Cristo and Jane Eyre, which have been mentioned,
http://www.sparknotes.com/lit/montecristo/
http://www.sparknotes.com/lit/janeeyre/
not that these will be our story,
but I can see where we may be going,
and what we have seen so far could be just the introduction to what is to come,

did anyone get the name of the book Patti gave Alejandro?

loved the way Lucho (translates as fight) talked Romina out of the cell door key and planned to just walk out,

and his realization that he is in a far worse place than the jail,

I didn't quite get all of the particulars of the will, but I guess Anibal is definitely out of luck,
were there any other interesting points?

LA PATRONA

Deb, thanks so much for the pictorial summary - great screen shots of the highlights (?low points) of the ep.

This story is so dark right now. The number of ruined lives seems higher than in other TNs - at least to me today. And, except for AniMal's apprehension about Constanza's "sworn statement",
the villains are cold, arrogant and purposefully evil.

Hombre, I had the same thoughts about the lack of legal protections for the lobos' victims and the need for "frontier justice". Was it Pale Rider where Clint had the town painted red?

The avances look grim for Milagros and Constanza. But I guess we were expecting that their attempts to deliver the letter to Ricardo would not only fail, but they'd pay the price when caught.

Patty and Ale - I have a bad feeling about them and the Lady Chatterley's Lover reference. If memory serves (and it's been several decades since I read the book), LC and her lover didn't have the happiest ending.

But I have to say, this TN keeps me coming back. I'm hooked.

Yes, I agree it was creepy when Bruno pushed Nena onto the bed and started tickling her like she was a little kid. It would have been creepy even if she WAS a little kid. But anyway. I never sensed that Nena had feelings for Bruno, chalk it up to bad writing or bad acting. Maybe they will do a glam makeover of Nena and have her suddenly become a "woman", but it still won't work for me because of her personality.
J in Oregon

PASIÓN PROHIBIDA

Great comments this morning, everyone!

I can't stand Nina, and Bruno should keep his distance from her, especially after Mademoiselle told him she was in love with him.

Nina was right about Bianca firing the staff - Ariel later said Salomon had worked there 26 years! But she behaves like a baby about it, crying hysterically. And ragging on her father because he didn't answer her calls. He was in the middle of a velorio for Pete's sake!

I don't understand what happened at the auction. They were almost hinting Guillermo did something to scare off the bidders that were there for the auction before Flavia's. And did he buy something or not?

Bianca is doing herself no favors alienating her loving husband. And, I agree. It's stupid writing that she tells her mother she can't go live with the man she loves. She probably won't because the plot probably demands that she stay at the Piamonte residence and continue to wreak havoc.

LA PATRONA

What happened regarding Constanza being an heir was this: Her uncle Isaac Golstein, originally from Germany, died and named Constanza his heir. Apparently Aníbal managed to get the money she inherited from her parents - all of it. The uncle despised Aníbal and wrote the will that, if Constanza doesn't claim the money within one year, it will all go to charity. There's no way Aníbal can get a cent of it.

But Antonia and Aníbal don't know this. They think that, because he's still married to Constanza, he'll inherit. But she can't die a violent death so soon after the will being revealed, or he'll be the prime suspect.

Doctora Vampira is supposed to give her a truth serum that will cause her to say who has the incriminating document that would finish Aníbal politically and perhaps land him in jail. We don't yet know if it worked.

Why the heck does Gabriela still have scabs on her lips months after being released from the catacombs? Weird.

I don't like Patti's obsession with Alejandro - likely exacerbated by Irene's mean bragging about what a stud he is. I want to like Patti, but her trying to seduce her brother-in-law is awful. Ricardo made it clear. Don't mess around in San Pedro del Oro, and she agreed to that.

Pasion Prohibida

Novelera, Bianca says she doesn't want her mother to be with Ivan because that would be a disrespect for her father. But really, her father is dead, he won't care. Penelope joked with Flavia about Ivan being more than a friend, so we know she won't mind. Miami's high class already thinks Flavia is not good enough for them, so no worries there, either.

Flavia is a nightmare, but she is right about this. She has the right to be happy, too, what is done is done.

Bianca's attitude is intended to show us how she is against what her mother did, the cheating. So, when she does just that, her punishment will be even greater (altough, really, cheating with JC Canela can't be that much of a punishment :D )

I don't see Flavia leaving the manor, she is having to much fun, bossing everyone around.

LA PATRONA

Novelera, I had the same thought about Gaby's cut lip. Her hair was definitely looking better, but the scab/wound on the mouth is still there. Maybe a make-up malfunction?

The conversation Gertrudis, Antonia and Anibal had was confusing to me. At first Gert said she does not kill people. Then there was the part about Constanza could not die in the nuthouse after inheriting a fortune and being missing for so many years. Then Gert brought up the new truth drug, and I thought at that point Antonia was taking a "let's kill her" approach again - with Gert agreeing. The avances show Gert smothering Constanza with a pillow. Huh?

Seems that Uncle Isaac has also disinherited Ricardo for whatever reason.

Yeah, Patty is not honoring the pre-nuptual agreement she had with Ricardo and to make matters worse, Ale is Ricardo's BIL and BFF. Very sad.

Beth

LA PATRONA

Good points, Beth. One thing. You're fairly new to our Mundo de Telemundo section of Caray, Caray. We agreed quite a while ago we would not post any comment about what appears in previews of the next night's episode. Some people like to be surprised.

Yeah, Gertrudis did say that her specialty was leaving people with nothing between their ears except air, but not actually killing people.

I'm guessing that Antonia meant that, if the truth drug works and they find out who has the evidence to convict Aníbal, they want poor Constanza killed and for the body to show up in another area (they might have said another state in Mexico).

I also assume that Gertrudis would deviate from her "principles" if the price were right.

LA PATRONA

Oops! Sorry, novelera. I didn't know that avances were not part of the discussions; I thought everyone sees them, although there aren't CCs for them. Will focus my comments on the episode.

PASION PROHIBIDA

I totally agree with everyone regarding the "ick" factor of Nina/Bruno. That tickling on the bed scene was like something we might see in a "stranger danger" PSA... BLECK! Nina is so annoying anyway, and such a terrible actress, it's hard to root for her with anyone.

I am not liking the "Reina de la Casa" thing Bianca is manifesting more and more recently. The way she treats "la servidumbre" is gradually causing me to lose interest in her character, not to mention the fact she wants to get rid of the baby (she really thinks this would avoid problems in the family?? My theory is that she just doesn't want to give mamacita the satisfaction of having "insurance", which makes it more about vengeance than any real concern over the wellbeing of the family--quite a chip off the old block!). I really like Monica Spear as an actor, but I need to have a protagonista that I at least feel some kind of sympathy for, and she's always got that smug, arrogant expression on her face these days. I hope something happens soon so that I can like her again...

And someone is in love with FLAVIA??? Like, really in love, not just in lust? I just don't buy that one. She hasn't shown one SMIDGE of humanity as far as I'm concerned. What is it with the men (Yair, Ivan, Ariel, Bruno) in this novela being in love with women that are totally unlikeable (Flavia, Nina, and most recently, Bianca)? Sheesh.

The B/B chemistry is still hot, though, I must admit :)

MADE IN CARTAGENA – Miércoles Part 1

Tonight the show got really dark, things got really intense. We begin with Calbache asking Harvey, what'll it be, the Basurto, or one of your crew's life? Harvey says no way will I give up the Basurto, it's my whole world. Then who gets killed? Harvey just happens to have little pictures of each one, sort of like on Mission Impossible. He looks at pictures of Mireya, Agua Mala, Max, Blatcho and then Candelaria. After a suitable pause, it's Cande. Yes, kill him. He's at my ranch, I'll give you the address, he's been causing problems anyway. (Harvey, you are scum!)

Mireya has her date with Agua Mala. Apparently, although he gave her the little camera, there's also some back up memory. She doses him with some date rape drug, but accidentally uses too much, and he almost dies! She throws water on him, he wakes up woozy, she demands, where's the memory? She's been going through all his things, he doesn't have it. He recovers enough to see the bottle of drugs she gave him, so THAT's what this is all about, you don't care about me, just that memory card. What are you hiding? Mireya gets tough, pulls out a gun, puts it in Agua Mala's mouth, tell me, you duded up baby! Agua Mala laughs, just pull the trigger, I'll never tell, in fact I have it set so that if something happens, Harvey will find out, so just kill me! She pulls back, just kidding, you know I'd never hurt you, honey. (Yeah, right).

Watusi and Flora have another tearful farewell, she still won't tell him much, except that she said just to trust her for a short period, and she'd tell him everything. But he didn't, he went right out and slept with Celina, and she even moved in, and now they're going to be in the champeta contest. All she can say is she did it for her family. Watusi should be saying I'm sorry, I love you, etc., but all he can do is weep, as Flora returns the ring, and walks out. Later, Celina asks, so what's your plan to get the money for Sabroso? He has no plan, but she says you could ask Harvey. He does, and Harvey, following Calbache's lead, says okay, I'll lend you the $10,000, but you have to work for me at the club. Watusi swallows hard, agrees.

Flora says goodbye to Sofi on the phone, she's going to Bogotá, she has a friend there named Cárin, whom we see her talking to on the phone. She feels guilty not saying goodbye in person, goes to the house, but Sofi's out with Pablo, and Flora says goodbye to Vicente. At one point she winces in pain, says she hurt her hand packing her suitcase (this could come back to haunt her). Vicente gives her a tender kiss on the cheek, and they have a long look before parting.

MADE IN CARTAGENA, Part 2

Despite pleas from Sofi and Vicente, Imanuol is really leaving. Sofi knows it's because of Silvia. But Imanuol won't admit it. At one point he tells Vicente his decision is purely professional. Later he says it's for personal reasons. Hmmmm. But of course he doesn't come clean. He'll set up a replacement, to help guard the Santa Helena. Vicente tells him the doors will always be open for him to return.

Marcos wants to get his bike back. Dixon is on the phone trying to find a buyer, and Marcos is right there, and sees his bike! He comes up behind Dixon, pretends his cellphone is a gun, and says, don't turn around. Start the motor, I'll tell you where to drive. They go to a warehouse. Once inside, Marcos says get on your knees, still pretending the phone is a gun. He then kicks Dixon three or four times, saying you fool, I had you going with a phone! Don't you EVER mess with me. How DARE you take my bike. But Dixon is tougher than Marcos knows. He gets up, wrestles with Marcos, and SLAMS him to the pavement, drawing blood from Marcos's mouth. He then takes the motorcycle, and tells Marcos if you want it back, it'll be $2,500! He gives him the phone so he can call when he's got the money. Touché!

Calbache stills wants the Santa Helena. He tells Harvey, get Flora back on the job. No way, says Harvey, I've lied to her so much, she's an honest type, it's over. Nah, says Calbache, why don't you tell her the truth! So they have Flora dragged up to Harvey's office. He first shows her the newspaper headline that the art gallery dealer was killed. Dominguez, the bastard, must have done it. Flora is shocked, but what does that have to do with her? She's leaving. Besides, she adds, I cut my hand, and blood got on the floor, and I heard the security guy say they're going to do DNA testing or something, I could be in trouble. Well, honey, says Harvey, you can't leave. Why? Because of two reasons. First, the Santa Helena you robbed was a fake, that bum Dominguez is laughing at us, he set us up! And second, there's a guy right in this room who wants to kill me. He's working with Dominguez, he's his partner. If I don't get the Santa Helena, I'm dead.

Calbache comes out from behind a chair, looking evil, casually waving a gun. That's right sweetie, you don't know what people you're dealing with. All we want you to do is get into Dominguez's house and see if the Santa Helena is there. You think your Don Vicente is such a saint, well he's badder than you can imagine. He double crossed me once, but I'm working with him now, he's calling the shots. So honey, you do as we say. Flora is almost speechless, saying I can't, I did my part, I need to leave, I already said goodbye. Well, you'll just have to put those plans on hold, says Calbache. What are you going to do, kill me? Not you, babe, but Harvey, or maybe Watusi, or your mother..........Nooooo!!!

La Patrona - Wednesday,

a picto summary is posted here,
http://foro.telenovela-world.com/n4/read-t.php?f=1235&i=2327&t=2327#reply_2327

Pasion Prohibida

A little off topic, but not really..:)
I think I have to much spare time, I can't stop listening DIME, the theme song. And then, when I get bored, I listen to Apartir de Hoy (Maite&Mauro - Triumfo del Amor) - that is a killer song, too.
I am still waiting to watch Wednesday's episode...so ...

On topic
Bianca is really playing with fire.
And I agree that she should have at least some redeemiing qualities if we are going to root for her on the long run.

So far the only thing that makes me watch is the leads' chemistry. The fact that they barely have any scenes together and they still light up the screen is a good clue that when they do start the make out sessions it will be very intense.

Pasion Prohibida
Wednesday

Bianca has an abortion (!!!), Ariel is very upset, he starts remembering all the advice people gave him about not marrying Bianca, about being careful with her (Don Salo tells him Bianca has something dark in her soul).

Flavia points out to Bianca that she is doing everything bad, that she will lose Ariel; she is still pissed off but goes to apologize. It doesn't go to well, at the end we see that she is really worried that she ruined her relationship with him.

I have to say, although she has her own agenda, Flavia is right; Bianca should really listen to her mother more (heh), the road she's taken will lead straight to divorce.

MADE IN CARTAGENA:

Come to think of it, it really doesn't make any sense if Calbache is working WITH Dominguez. Maybe he said Dominguez double crossed him, and now he wants revenge. But whatever, it's clear to Flora that Calbache has threatened Harvey (and this is true), and now threatens her and her family. So instead of having to get the Santa Helena to save Cande, now she has to get it to save her other family members. What a life!

MADE IN CARTAGENA:

Hombre, thanks for the great recap. it was very intense last night. I think Harvey, and then Cabache, explained Cabache was Vicente's former partner and that Vicente screwed him over in the past. Cabache wants revenge.

I think Flora is really scared of Cabache -- and the situation he and her 'padrino' have put her in.

EL SECRETARIO - Episode #106 - Feb. 21, 2013:

Emilio is sitting in bed with Valentina. She asks for another special bedtime story. Emilio has one but it's very sad. She asks if there are kisses. He teases and tickles her, of course there are kisses. Then he starts to tell her about Prince Emilio is very sad because his rival Prince Felix is still keeping him away from his beloved Princess.

Meanwhile, Frank is driving Olga home from the bar. Frank asks why she's so quiet, is she still thinking about Emilio? She says, no this time it has to do with some uncomfortable situation at work. (Olga has a personal flashback to Paula's phone call for Toni, where she yells about her affair with Toni's husband, the low-life, womanizer Felix.) Frank asks if she wants to talk about it. Olga says, it's nothing. She doesn't want it to ruin the evening between friends.

Conde yells at the tow-truck driver as the driver hauls his car away. Conde grumbles as Millie comes outside. He's angry with Aguirre about his car. Millie pulls him by the arm into the rain.

Paula and Mario are making out under the bedspread. Felix calls - the cell phone auto-answers. Felix is stunned to hear Paula's voice... and Mario's. (uh-oh!)

Frank, the gentleman, walks Olga to her door. She flirts with him. She wonders if he has a twin or even a brother. He says no, none. They talk about Lorena's temper. She tells him that he should probably go home, so he won't have problems with his wife.

Conde and Millie are rolling and carrying the four tires down the sidewalk. They stop at the local neighborhood park. Conde can't stop grumbling about Aguirre. Millie is getting really annoyed and scolds him about the stupid war the two guys are having - it doesn't serve any purpose (do any good). Conde thinks she is seeing someone else now. She says, she is going home to be with her son Sebastian, and Adrian.

Dona Trudy, Rosita and Lorena are sorting through the bufadas they have been crocheting. They are tired so Lorena says they should stop for the night and finish up early tomorrow so she can get them to Copito.

As Frank walks down the hallway towards the apartment, Lorena catches him from across the hall. She approaches him and asks where has he been all night? Frank explains he found Olga and was keeping her company, he drove her home and was showing Olga a little compassion. Lorena is furious with him, and scolds him for being nice to Olga and everyone in the world except his wife.

Felix, a raging bull in a crystal glass factory, shows up at Mario's apartment. Mario and then Paula pop up out of the bed. Felix is so furious, he wants to kill them both. He chases Mario and Paula around the apartment.

Toni is back at her home, lost in her own thoughts.

Felix corners Mario and Paula inside the bathroom. He bangs on the door and yells at them. Mario gets into a shouting match with his brother. Felix threatens to do harm to something important. Mario is mortified it may be his hair. Felix says it's something more important than that. Mario and Paula whisper what it could possibly be. Felix walks into the living room. Mario and Paula find him there holding Paula's purse. Mario and Felix argue again. Felix takes the purse and threatens to take Paula's car away with him. Paula is very upset and yells, "NO! NOT MY CAR! FELIX!"

LA PATRONA:

Deb, thanks for a great pictorial summary.

Antonia rarely gets upset, she's always toasting something. I happen to think the actress looks great for her age.

Lucho may be picking locks, but isn't he concerned about the security cameras? I guess the writers only bring that angle in when it helps the story.

Gaby was great, she was really going to allow Gertrudis to poke out her eye, I guess. Don't know what would have really happened. Of course, as Deb pointed out, by revealing the secrets, the good guys land themselves in even MORE hot water, because now they can be killed. Sigh.

I'm glad Pati saw Julio with his amante. Julio knows stuff about Antonia and Anibal, and could eventually betray them. He wasn't so happy they killed Milagros. So if Pati threatens to tell Prudencia about Julio....Probably never happen.

Max working at the manicomio? Yesss!

PASIÓN PROHIBIDA

wow! I was hoping they wouldn't go there... abortion. especially since she wasn't raped, has a loving husband, and money. right now, I'm not liking her much.

Pasion Prohibida

Shalowgirl, I don't like Bianca to much, either. And her motive is not very clear for me. At first she tells Ariel that since he decided to bring back la servidumbre going against her wishes, than she can do the same with the baby (so not the same thing!!); but then, in her diary, she writes that she did it for the family...

Pasion Prohibida
AdrianaNoel, shallowgal, J in Oregon, I was surprised that Bianca "interrupted" her pregnancy! I agree, she is very hard to read, and lately, hard to like. Overall, I find this TN and most characters hard to figure. But, I guess it is clear where we are headed with the two Bs Bianca and Bruno. Headed to PP.
AdrianaN, if you are addicted to the theme song, can you tell me what the lyric is [in Spanish], the part that usually leads into commercial?
And thanks for your mini-caps! Appreciated.
Clara

PASIÓN PROHIBIDA

yeah, Bianca is one confused, contradictory person. writers... someone... help her por favor!

PASIÓN PROHIBIDA

Welcome, Clara! Haven't seen you comment her before.

Boy, Bianca is behaving as if she's bipolar. I don't remember her actually saying the abortion was vengeance for Ariel reinstating the servants, but I probably missed it. I do remember her giving the photograph of Ivan to the odious gossip magazine guy and then, very coldly, calling to schedule her abortion.

Then later she writes in her journal, presumably she isn't lying in her own journal, that she had the abortion so as not to upset Ariel's kids. Weird.

I was surprised to see that Ariel isn't going for her make-up sex efforts. He's deeply wounded and not ready to go there. Usually in TN's, when the woman comes on to the man, he's putty in her hands.

When and if Flavia finds out about Bianca giving that guy the info and the photograph, Bianca will have an enemy under her own roof.

LA PATRONA

This is one exciting telenovela. I'm a lot more hooked than I expected to be.

That was one big surprise Max showing up on the nuthouse cleaning crew. I was a bit confused, though. Someone opened the door and let him in. Anyone know if that person is an accomplice or if he fooled that person as well?

It DID look like Gaby was prepared to lose an eye to protect Constanza's secret.

When, oh when, will there be serious consequences for Macario and Lagarto? They are unbelievably sadistic. Both of them smile when killing innocent persons at Antonia or Aníbal's request.

I loved the scene with Francisca and Gaby. Somehow they communicated. Doctora Vampira was hoping to see signs that Gaby was not nuts, but I don't think she got any.

I'm really enjoying the interaction between Lucho and Gaby. It was funny when he said that feitas como tu no son mi tipo de mujer. He's winning her over (as a friend) by teasing her.

It looks like the lawyer who had Constanza's "evidence" is toast. This doesn't bode well for her survival. Should she escape, she can just tell the authorities what she knows. But I don't think Aníbal is going to caer so soon.

LA PATRONA

whoa... yes, I saw Max in the end last night; what a cutie-pie he turned out to be.

I'm still waiting for Gaby's transformation, and for the good guys to triumph even just a little bit... then I'll most likely completely tune-in to this show.

La Patrona -

thanks all, for your added details and comments,

I couldn't tell if Max works there or he snuck in,

wow,
they are really ramping up the suspense, that our three musketeers are going to surely die if they don't get out of there,

and Gabriel is blossoming more every day, increasing in strength and guile,

interesting that they overlaid Antonia's reading of the letter about Constanza leaving Ricardo, with Patti leaving little Ricky, with his dad, for her nervous hotel rendezvous with Alejandro.

I have to keep reminding myself that Alejandro has been under the influence of his mother his entire life, and although he has these little tantrums she still has the keys to controlling him, and why is he still living with her.

is it true that if a person starts recapping La Patrona, they will disappear forever?

Pasion Prohibida,
novelera I am always lurking, basically a Uni gal, but I am here on the dark side following PP. Used to TNs with clearly marked good guys and bad guys, maybe that's why PP seems strange to me? But I'm gonna stick with it. For a while I thought Bianca was going to hook up with Ivan [Flavia's amante]. And the whole Nina/Yair/Bruno/Camilla/Katia thing is weird. I do like Mademoiselle for Ariel despite his lack of interest.
Clara

Pasión Prohibida -

I think the key to the story at this point is that the emotionally conflicted Bianca, who is increasingly disliked by all, will eventually have to turn to someone else, for understanding and comfort.

PASIÓN PROHIBIDA

Clara, I also like Mademoiselle for Ariel. I just can't figure out how they'd ever resolve Ariel and Bruno's relationship if he cheated with Bianca. Even if Bianca and Ariel get divorced and Ariel turns to Mme, Bruno has committed a terrible betrayal.

Pasion Prohibida

Deb, I think you are on to something.

Bianca already said that everybody hates her; the only one still willing to talk to her seems Bruno (he wasn't to upset after she fired the servants, they even hugged and all). So she might turn to him just to have someone in her corner, too. And we've all seen what is going on in Bruno's mind...

Clara, this is obviously not a normal TN. Nobody is acting like they are supposed to act, starting with the leads. That is why I love it so much. The fact that this is a remake after a turkish series makes me think that things will develop different from what we are used to in TN.
I will get back to you with the lyrics soon.

PASION PROHIBIDA
Welcome Clara, nice to read your comments here.
Novelera, I wondered a few times about the discrepancy between Bianca's actions, and what she writes in the diary. Maybe the diary is her way of re-writing events as she thinks they should be.
I feel the abortion makes it impossible that Bruno and Bianca will end up together, because I don't think the writers will let that go "unpunished".

anybody still watching EL ROSTRO?

Saul Lizaso still got those soccer skills!
and everyone who suspected Alex was right. For some reason he is now protcting Caro and says that he is the Monster boy? so how did he do it from prison? unless he has connections......

El Rostro

I watch it once in a while and someone asked what happened to the recaps.

Without recaps, comments are usually very scarce.

LA PATRONA

Deb - thanks much for the pictorials and your comments. Poor Milagros. She certainly didn't deserve to be tortured and killed.

Macario and Lagarto are two scary dudes.

Gotta love Antonia. As a villain, she truly enjoys her evil acts, has no qualms about taking risks and committing murder and celebrates her victims' pain and/or deaths with champagne. She certainly deserves a particularly nasty death. I don't think she can be sent to prison because she'd probably end up running the place.

Max's appearance at the manicomio was quite a surprise. I also wonder if he was hired to be a maintenance worker or snuck in. It looked like he was looking for Gaby when he was in the dayroom, and it's possible that he and Francisca discussed her visit with Gaby and came up with a plan.

David sounded like a young man during his phone call with Antonia. I thought he was eight when the story started and would be 13-14 now, but maybe the story has advanced more than 5-6 years. Sounds like maybe he is happier traveling with his friends, rather than going home to San Pedro del Infierno.

I'm really enjoying Lucho. He bounced right back even after they injected him with god-knows-what, and he took Gaby up on her challenge to unlock the doors with a paperclip. Cute scene where she tossed him off her bed.

Deb. Yes, it's true. I've been sick and unable to recap.

Will try a mini one, though.

LA PATRONA miercoles

Ale and Patti get busted k-i-s-s-i-n-g by Manuel. Ale is embarrassed and says 'see someone saw us'. Patti says he's your friend he won't talk. Ale is shocked, Patti says we can go elsewhere,I'm going to a hotel and you can meet me there. Patti goes, Manny comes in and Ale says 'I don't understand what I'm doing...she's my sister-in-law, my best friends wife.' Manny goes the non-judgy route and says 'I don't support what you ard doing but you're unhappy since they took Gaby from you' and Ale looks at him if Manny is nuts. He insists that what he and Patti are doing is unfair to Ricardo and Irene.

Seems like Manny played a little Bugs Bunny psychology here since it seemed to reinforce Ale's 'I'm not here for getting it in with my cuñada' since he wasn't persuaded by Manny's reasoning. He goes to the hotel, which Patti booked under a fake name and came inwearing big shades. She was discreet she says. She kisses Ale but he backs off. We can't do this. We share our lives with these people. Patti tries to kiss him and the then Ale's cell phone rings. He grabs it really quickly, gratefully, even and it's Irene telling him Lucia has a bad fever. Ale says I'll meet you at the clinic and he speeds out the hotel with, Look, this is not gonna happen again.' Patti is crushed. And I rejoice that Ale has the sense God gave a gnat.

Milagros is questioned by Los Lobos about why she's trying to see Ricardo. She reveals Gaby is allied with Constanza and she gets murdered by sicario Macario. Just realized dudes name and title in spanish rhymes. Yeah, !writers!

More evil discussions by Guerra and Anibal >>FF

Oh yeah, there's a call from David to Guerra and Dave is travelling the world by himself at FOURTEEN, b/c abuela said he could do what he wants. He's going to Hawaii on this trip and will meet Guerra in San Francisco for their European trip. Besos and all that, abuela! But abuela is proud. She misses his hugs, after all. Ale comes in and asks how's David doing. Great says Guerra. We're gonna go to Europe together. Iwant David to learn French. Yes, Virginia, David isn't being deprived of his herencia even as Max has to play for his supper and shine shoes, but I digress.

Guerra tells Ale all this doting on David is so he'll be honorable like Ale. Ale says he's a mess don't lie to me. Is Ale's self-loathing his punishment or the viwers'? Cuz I'm not here for it. Guerra goes into a spiel that Ale has a beautiful family, he's fortunate...and she's exasperated at saying this because 'How long is he going to keep thinking about that woman??!!' Gaby is something. She has had two men drinking themselves to death over her.

Contd LA PATRONA

Gaby is sane but pretending to be crazy. Tuerta and Nurse Ladrona Rumina decide to give Constanza truth serum to get her to give up the deets on statemate incriminating Anibal. Constanza laughs and makes fun of Tuerta under the serum. 'I'd rather die than tell you where it is. You're a lousy doctor. Gaby was right to take one of your eyes.' Constanza is telling the truth and shaming the devil. Until Tuerta reveals, and Vampa overhears, that Milagros is dead and she's gonna torture Gaby by taking out her eye if Gaby doesn't talk.

Gaby is brought to Tuerta after Vampa runs to tell her pretend you're nuts no matter what. Gaby complies and does her best catacumba space-out face as Tuerta heads for her eye with a syringe. You'll find out today what the saying an eye for an eye means, Tuerta says. If she's really crazy she won't miss her eye any way, Tuerta insists. Vampa stops the madness by running doing his best the cucarachas are eating me alive act to distract Tuerta. Tuerta has the guards grab him and she threatens to give him a poison cocktail. Constanza says she'll talk, stop hurting people.

Anibal and Guerra use the confession info to send Macario to threaten the lawyers Flores and Castillo, who have Constanza's statement against Anibal.

PASION PROHIBIDA

AdrianaNoel, I'm obsessed with DIME! Couldn't find it for download though so I pulled it off youtube. Clara, I think the part you are talking about (that usually leads into commercial) says "Dime como no perderme en tu mirada" which I think means "Tell me how not to lose myself in your look/gaze."

I was shocked they followed through with the abortion! I was not expecting that, but I assume (as someone said earlier) that it won't go "unpunished" and Bianca has quite a "haunting" ahead of her... maybe even a stint in a manicomio... of course, who knows with this one?

Francisca 's spidey senses tingle as Gaby's pic falls to the ground and her stomach aches. She goes to visit Gaby and gets to see her. She cries and is shocked by Gaby's state. Why so much cruelty she asks Ladrona Enfermera Romina. Gaby pretends to be crazy during the visit, and only lets Fran know she's sane by her eyes and calling her madrasta Metiche, like in the good ole days when they fought. Francisca is heartened and tells Gaby she loves her.
She goes home, Gaston comes over and they chat about Fran's visit while Max, unseen here, comes in the house and surprises his Mom.

A guy in a janitor's uniform sneaks into the manicomio with a garbage can and goes right up to Gaby and taps her.¿Eres tu Gabriela Suarez? Soy Max, su hermano. Is that you Gabriela Suarez? It's your brother Max.

MADE IN CARTAGENA - Feb. 21, 2013 - pt. 1:

Flora cries and is speechless. Cabache continues to tell her to help her godfather and family. She wants him to leave her and her family alone. He tells her to work with her godfather and she will get her wish. He leaves. She breaks down crying and Harvey walks around the desk to sit next to her. He consoles her with a hug and promises to protect her and be with her through the entire plan. So, then, Vicente is responsible, she asks. Harvey says, yes, both Vicente and Cabache are their enemies.

Vicente is in his office, talking on the phone. He finishes his conversation as Silvia enters. He tells her that Imanuol has left. Silvia is sad to hear that. But she brings good news - she’s found an excellent candidate to serve at vice president of the bank.

Flora continues to cry that she doesn’t have any right to get close to Vicente or do what is being asked. Harvey says she has more right and more access than anyone right now to Vicente. She asks if they can get it done fast (Santa Helena search plan). Harvey says of course, they will get to planning right away. He then reminds her how dangerous Cabache really is - he says that Cabache is more dangerous than Vicente. She sniffles and thanks her godfather for understanding. Flora leaves. Harvey sits and thinks.

Sofia and Pablo are walking on the sidewalk. She is angry with him for thinking she is a drug addict. He says his brother was on drugs. She’s still offended that he would even think that about her.

Agua Mala is still angry with Mireya over what she did to him in the bedroom. As they argue, she mentions something is a matter of life and death. He tells her that whatever happens between them stays between them. She mutters something. He gets angry, walks over to the desk in the backroom and slams his hands on the equipment.

Sofia and Pablo are in her bedroom. She tells Pablo that she isn’t an addict - she is just a ‘casual user’. Pablo argues that is exactly what addicts says - what his brother always said. He only cares about her and wants to help. She apologizes and is ready to listen to him.

Silvia and Vicente are discussing a new security system that will be in place at the bank in two weeks. She also mentions that the new VP will take over his position at about the same time. Therefore, the Santa Helena will be very well-protected. They start to kiss.

MADE IN CARTAGENA - Feb. 21, 2013 - pt. 2:

Flora is at home - she told mom about her meeting with Harvey and Cabache. Belen isn’t happy - she can’t believe Vicente is responsible for all the bad things that have happened to their family. Flora can’t believe that Vicente could ever be capable of anything so horrible - he’s always been kind, generous and decent with her. Flora tells her mom, “It’s over. I have no more compassion for him now.”

Silvia and Vicente start to take off each other’s shirts, as they continue kissing. Sofia knocks on the door and calls out to her dad through the door. They stop kissing. Vicente yells back that he and Silvia are busy working. She says, never mind, she’ll be in her room, if he needs her.

Max spies from his dark corner on Mireya and Agua Mala kissing and whispering together in the cave. Agua Mala says he loves her and she says this is their little secret. At that moment, Max steps out of the shadows and interrupts the love birds. He tells them that Harvey wants to see the team in his office right now.

Agua Mala, Mireya, Max and Blatchko are in Harvey’s office. Harvey is furious about a second failure to nab the Santa Helena statue. He tells them the one they stole was a fake. Mireya tries to blame Vicente, but Harvey blames the team for being idiots. Harvey tells Agua Mala and Max to figure out how they missed the fake from the beginning. Harvey then talks with Blatchko and Mireya about why the rest of the plan failed.

Sofia is in her bedroom. Vicente comes in. They talk. (Tomorrow Sofia leaves for Paris). Vicente reminds her that he will support her no matter what. She thanks him.

Max, Agua Mala and Blatchko leave the office with their first set of orders. Mireya stays behind with Harvey. She tells Harvey that now maybe they should just get rid of Vicente . Harvey is still puzzled by Robinson’s death - it was in cold blood - as well as his conversation with Vicente. Mireya comments. Harvey says ‘my enemy is your enemy.‘ They kiss. Phone rings and interrupts. It’s Cande - he’s bored and antsy and wants to leave the farm. Harvey work to convince him to stay there, where he’s safe. Cande (reluctantly) agrees to stay there.

MADE IN CARTAGENA - Feb. 21, 2013 - pt. 3:

Sofia tells Marcos she leave tomorrow for Europe. He asks her for a favor - to loan him $20,000 to get his motorcycle back. She can’t do that, it’s too much money, how will she explain it to her dad. Marcos is desperate to get his motorcycle back and needs the cash right now. Sofia caves in and agrees to get him the money. Marcos loves her and thanks her.

Cabache is back at the office. He talks with Harvey on his plan to get the Santa Helena. Harvey says, for Flora, we can’t kill Cande until after her part of the plan is finished. Cabache mentions getting the real statue.

In the ‘bat cave’, Harvey meets with the team. He goes over their orders for the next phase of the new plan. Agua Mala tries to make a suggestion but Harvey shoots it down flat and tells him to get to work on the computer. Harvey leaves.

Flora and Belen are walking along the sidewalk near the beach area. Flora calls and talks with Sofia; she hasn’t left on her trip yet. When Flora hangs up, Champion comes up and begs Flora not to leave. Flora explains to Champion all the people who love him and will still be here for him. Champion mentions Sabroso is in the hospital. Belen and Flora are stunned by the news.

Marcos and Dixon meet again at the warehouse. Marcos asks for more time to get the money. Dixon argues his reasons - before granting the time. Dixon takes off on the motorcycle.

Watusi tells Flora what Champion said about Sabroso is true. She tells him she only stopped by to see Sabroso. He says Celina is living there now, so she doesn’t need to worry about any of them anymore. He asks when is she leaving town? She says, don’t worry, soon she will leave town and he won’t have to see her again. He says, fine, you can go now. She wonders about the money for Sabroso’s surgery. Watusi angrily tells her it will cost 20,000 pesos, and he has managed to find a way to get the money needed. She offers to help with the expenses but he flatly turns her down. She leaves. Watusi and Champion talk (console each other).

Silvia talks with Colonel on the phone in Vicente’s office. When she hangs up, she tells Vicente, the police have located the thieves in the center of town. Vicente is so excited, they will finally be close enough to catch them.

MADE IN CARTAGENA - Feb. 21, 2013 - pt. 4:

Flora visits Harvey in his office. She asks him about Sabroso’s injuries. Harvey tells her the truth - how he had Blatchko and Max hit Sabroso with the motorcycle in order to help her with Watusi. Flora can’t believe what a disaster her life became. She wonders now what about the surgery costs? Harvey responds.

Celina and Watusi are at their cabana home. They are arguing over where they are going to get the money for Sabroso’s surgery.

Harvey meets with the team again in his office to get a plan update. Harvey tells them they will wait for Flora and Sofia to leave. Mireya wonders about taking out Sofia. Harvey says no, the girls are to be left alone. We will strike after they leave the building.

At home, Vicente is tired as he heads upstairs. He sees Sofia at the top of the stairs. She got something and is going to bed now. He walks her to her bedroom, and then gives her and hug and kisses her goodnight. (It’s their last night together in the same house). They sit down on her bed. He tells her that her mom would be so proud of her right now. He also reminds her to call him whenever she needs anything. She loves him. He tells her good night, sleep tight and closes the door as he leaves. Pablo, who had been hiding in the closet, crawls out of his hiding place and sits on her bed. Pablo and Sofia start kissing.

Flora can’t sleep, She remembers all the times she spent with Vicente. Meanwhile, Vicente is laying his bed, he can’t sleep either - he is thinking about Flora. Flora starts to cry as she remembers her mother telling her Vicente is responsible for all the bad things that have happened to their family.

Agua Mala is sitting at the computer in the cave, focused on his typing and work.

The next morning, Flora meets Harvey in his office. Harvey tells her the bad news - Cande called him. Flora panics - it’s too dangerous; Cabache could get to him; Harvey tells her that Vicente also wants to kill Cande.

NEXT MONDAY: Cabache finds Cande at the farmhouse - Cabache plays the tape with Harvey’s voice saying to kill Cande - Cande is stunned as he listens to the tape. Cabache tries to convince Cande to turn on Harvey, instead Cande pulls his gun on Cabache.

I'm still watching El Rostro, but without the recaps I'm
understanding very little. It seems tp be getting a lot more
interesting. Anxious to hear the whole story of Alicia/Eva.

J desde NYC,
I hope you know I was joking when I asked about La Patrona recappers disappearing,
I do love your recaps, because I miss so much of the detail, but I would never want you to feel obligated to do one, I think the idea here is to have fun, and I do hope that all is well with you now.

Pasion Prohibida Thursday

Bruno's new car arrives and he decides to go take Nina from school. Bianca goes with him and she wants to drive the car. She likes the speed, Bruno is a little scared in the car, they have a little flirty thing going on. But he mentiones her abortion, breaks the happy moment.

After that he apologizes, but she is not upset. He is surprised when she tells him about her crazy college days, he didn't think she had that in her; he suggests they go climb the Himalaya, but Bianca says that Ariel is to old for that. Bruno point out the fact that married people have no fun, which upsets her.

After they take Nina from school, they go shopping, that is where Bianca finds out that Ariel is leaving for Dallas.
She goes home to try to talk to him, she cries (Flavia advices her to use her body), but Ariel is to upset. She ends up asking for a divorce, he doesn't want this, he just needs some time to forget what she's done.

He leaves for his trip. Crying her eyes out, Bianca wants to take the car out, Bruno doesn't let her go alone. They go to the cemetery, Bianca tells Bruno how much she loves Ariel and that she is afraid she will lose him. They hug, just in time for Ariel to catch them (he called Bianca's cell that was left at home, Flavia answered and she told him where her daughter goes when she is so upset).

So far the writers are really showing how different Ariel and Bianca are; she is still very young, she has a lot of fire in her and she is still imature. Just like Bruno. Ariel is a grown man, he has other needs and expectations from life. Even if Flavia is working her own angle, I believe she is right with everything that she tells Bianca about Ariel.

The hug at the end is harmless enough, and Bianca's heart is nowhere near Bruno right now. But I can totally see why she would feel drawn to him later. They are the same age, they share some of the same interest...what got her closer to Ariel (the pain of losing her dad) can't keep a marriage working, no matter how much she says she loves him.

Bianca is just a girl, Ariel is a man; they rushed into this thing, Ariel is starting to realize it and Bianca will se it, soon, too. But for now I think they will reconcile, Ariel seemed very eager to work things out with her when he told Nico they are not taking their trip anymore.

LA PATRONA

This show is INTENSE and really has me hooked, but I too am tiring of the unrelenting series of wins for the villains and misery and death for the good guys. Last night one of the villains, albeit a relatively minor one (enfermera Romina)met a nasty end, and it looks like Gabriela will finally escape, so hopefully the etapa de venganza is about to begin.

Karamy

MADE IN CARTAGENA:

Thanks for another super recap, Jody, you filled in all the scenes beautifully. As usual, though, I have a few clarifications, as the Spanish is really fast at times.

What Silvia told Vicente was that due to Vicente's brilliant plan in making the thieves take a fake Santa Helena, the board of directors of the bank has reinstated Vicente as President (remember, he had been suspended).

Pablo took Sofi to a group therapy drug center. That's why she was mad, and refused to go in. After he told her what happened with his brother, who also refused, but ended up dead, she realized he's only trying to help. I'm not sure why she decided to move up her departure to tomorrow, but maybe to get away from temptation of drugs.

Here's an explanation of Colombian money. Divide by 2,000. So the operation for Sabroso costs 20 million pesos, that's $10,000.00. And for Marco's moto, Dixon wanted 5 million pesos, which is $2,500.00. Sofi only had 1 million pesos ($500.00) as trip money, which she gave to Marcos. He told Sofi the reason why he couldn't call the cops was that the moto wasn't paid for yet (and I guess could be repossessed by a bank if he went through normal channels). When he gave Dixon $500 instead of $2500, Dixon refused to release the moto, saying come back tomorrow, same time, same place. If I were Marcos, I'd come back with 5 tough guys and just take it back.

Agua Mala said to Mireya, if you want me to stay quiet about the memory card, you have to be my official novia. Mireya said I can't, Harvey has dibs on me, he'd kill us both. Later, Harvey DID say she'd better not be with anyone else (but we've seen her with just about every member of the crew!).

Harvey told Agua Mala to spread the news on the internet that they wanted to sell the Santa Helena. That way, Vicente will think the robbers still think they have the original. And it works, that's why Vicente and Silvia were so happy at the news from Colonel Torres, which said the Santa Helena is being offered for sale.

Harvey actually told Flora that he told Max to stop Sabroso, but when Max arrived on his moto, Sabroso was lying on the ground. This lie could come back to haunt Harvey.

Watusi had not decided whether to take up Harvey's offer to work at the Basurto if Harvey paid for Sabroso's operation (I was wrong about this), but Harvey had ALREADY paid for it, and showed Flora the bill, to show how nice he is.

Monday should be awesome!

LA PATRONA:

Thanks, J desde NYC for your fun recap of Wednesday's show, and Deb for the pictorial recap of Thursday.

We're getting some action now! I loved Romina getting her payback. I'm not sure how Gaby got out, maybe in a major fire alarm, the cells open? Also, La Tuerta had all sorts of cameras on Gaby and the common room, maybe should have had some on Casanova, the halls, etc. She'll probably escape with the files, but maybe the first will make her MORE disfigured. That would be fun!

I'm worried about Constanza, though. If she lives, the baddies could be in trouble. But if not, they could keep going for a long time, and we know this novela still has a long way to go (of course she could always go into a coma).

Again, this show reminds me of Corazon Valiente, where Angela was in prison, her boyfriend didn't believe her, and she escaped by a big fire. Of course, she then lost her memory, which hopefully won't happen to Gaby.

Someone should start adding up all the victims of Antonia, Anibal, Lagarto, etc. The count is getting rather high.

LA PATRONA:

I meant the FIRE could disfigure La Tuerta.

LA PATRONA

J desde NYC - thank you for the Weds recap. You always report something I've missed.

And thanks, Deb for the pics for Thurs. Great shots.

I loved Casanova. Who would have guessed that he'd be the instrument of Gaby's escape. But how did she get out of her cell, and where did she get the key to free Lucho? I'm hoping they get to Constanza quickly. There was already smoke in her room.

Hombre - I cheered when Casanova tossed that match at Romina-Ratchet! As you said, great payback!

Gold is a soft metal, but maybe Gaby's medal will survive Romina's incineration to 1) identify the body as Gaby and 2) stop any search for her.

I was mentally adding up the corpses after Milagros was killed, but definitely we need to list the dead now that the 2 lawyers were shot. I'll start, but please add those I've forgotten, plus names.

La Patrona Death List:

Alejandro's & Fernando's father
Antonia's second husband
El Tigre
Gaston's novia
Julia
3 miners
Fernando
Gabriela's unborn baby
Milagros
Constanza's 2 lawyers
Romina

El ROSTRO DE LA VENGANZA, as of 2/21/13

Anonymous, this isn't a recap but maybe it will help you follow what has happened lately.

PART 1 OF 2
When the idiot police take psycho killer Leyton on a field trip (he is "helping" their investigation), he manages to escape by killing two police officers. Then he holds Alicia Ferrer captive. She outwits him and would have burned him alive if the police hadn't showed up in time to "rescue" her.

Meanwhile, lovesick Martín is so desperate to rescue Alicia that he makes a deal (yes, another deal) with master criminal Rios: Leyton agrees to free Alicia and Rios will get Leyton across the Mexican border. In payment for Rios's services, Martín agrees to act as his front and buy a controlling share in Ezequiel's nearly failed bank. The bank would then be used for money-laundering. In the end, Leyton backs out of the deal, but Martín is stuck with his obligation to Rios. So now Martín sits in the president's office of this very shaky institution. No one else knows he's just Rios's puppet. [In fact, even Martín seems to have forgotten that.]

The Big News
Eva Samaniego did not die! We now know that Eva Samaniego wasn't a victim of the niño monstruo -- she WAS the monster. She may be Ezequiel's biological daughter -- we're not sure. In those days, Valeria got around.

At Valeria's urging, Ezequiel rescued Eva from the burning school room. Then Ezequiel shot teacher Ramón Farias, (the poor guy had two strikes against him: He was Laura Alvarado's lover and now he was an inconvenient witness to Eva's killing spree). Ezequiel and Valeria concocted the scheme to frame Eva's classmate, Diego Mercader. They picked him because he was the poor kid whose parents wouldn't be able to hire the legal muscle to defend him.

Diego was sent to prison and Eva was sent to a convent school in France. Meanwhile Federico Samaniego wept over an empty grave for twenty years and had innocent people killed in the name of vengeance.

Marcos Alvarado was innocent after all. And most of the people close to the case now know this.

We strongly suspect that nurse Alicia Ferrer is Eva. She is in cahoots with Valeria. She burned Valeria's blood money check to the late Tania and now there's no evidence linking Valeria to the murders for hire of psychiatrist Antonia and teacher Ramón.

Alicia also has the letters from the real Monster Child. She has kept their contents secret, parceling out bits and pieces which suggest that the writer loved Diego.

Police captain Tomás knows more about Alicia than most people. Does he know everything?

Martín proposed marriage to Alicia despite Tomás's hints that she is mentally ill. Alicia has accepted his proposal.

EL ROSTRO, PART 2 OF 2
When Braterina is cornered by her mother and Alicia about her fake pregnancy, she tells everyone she had a miscarriage. By the time the truth comes out -- the pregnancy was a lie from the start -- she is pregnant for real. It's too late to pretend Martín is the father. She wants to abort but at the last minute, chooses not to, to the relief of the actual baby daddy, Miguel Angel as well as her own daddy, Ezequiel.

Martín's lawyer, Rafaela, is gunning for Ezequiel. We know she has some connection with the past -- lots of people remember her vaguely but can't quite place her. Could SHE be Eva? It doesn't seem likely but still ...

Rafaela convinces Juan and Sonia Mercader to press charges against Ezequiel for framing Martín twenty years ago; in the end, in an emotional TV interview with reporter Verónica Baeza, Martín persuades them to withdraw their suit. Wasn't Marcos's death punishment enough for Ezequiel?

Alex finds a blueprint of the Samaniego mansion hidden in Carolina's apartment. The map clearly shows the secret passage used to sneak out an unconscious Martín the night of the reunion. It implicates Carolina in Mariana's and Tania's murders. But petite Carolina couldn't have done it alone -- she must have had an accomplice. [But one of the Amazons -- Alicia or Valeria -- would have been strong enough!].

It also appears that either Alex or Natalia supplied the suit Martín wore the night Mariana was murdered.

Alex surprises everyone by confessing to being responsible for the recent deaths. Now he is back in prison in the cell next to Leyton.

Is he really the mastermind behind the recent killings? (He was in jail when at least one of the murders was committed.)

Is this a conspiracy involving several people?

Did Alex confess to protect someone else? Natalia? Carolina? (Leyton thinks Alex doesn't have it in him to be a murderer. Martín also believes Alex is innocent. Tomás thinks that if Natalia is guilty, she'll come forward to get Alex out of jail.)

Or did Alex confess so he'd be put in jail and have a chance to get even with the thug who brutalized him the day before he was released? If Alex kills the guy, then he will be a murderer.

Federico follows Eva's trail to Paris. One of the older sisters at the convent school remembers Eva: She was the worst child in the class, so violent that she caused serious injury to another girl and had to be expelled. Where did she go? To the United States!

Natalia does come forward when she hears that Alex is back in prison; but she's not there to confess -- she's there to accuse Carolina Pinto!

LA PATRONA

Hombre, gotta confess I also enjoyed Romina getting hers. Then I wondered about my own moral sense enjoying someone become a crispy critter so much!

I SO hope Gertrudis does not get out of the manicomio alive. Or maybe they'll have her escape and face retribution later. Locked up in the catacombs in some OTHER nuthouse would be good.

Thanks, Beth, for the death list. I couldn't think of any others.

I surely hope we'll see Aracely without scabs on her lips very soon.

My fingers and toes are crossed that Gaby and Lucho get Constanza out of there.

MADE IN CARTAGENA -- jueves

Thanks so much, Jody. Nice work! Thanks, Hombre, for filling in a few more details, especially the info about Colombian currency.

Now that Harvey knows Flora's blood is at the scene, he is afraid she will lead the Santa Elena investigation back to him. How is he going to handle that? Will he eliminate Flora? (his usual sociopathic strategy for "friends" who have become inconvenient); or will he have Agua Mala work some kind of computer magic, hacking into the crime lab and changing the blood test results?

It's odd that the candidate Imanol recommended as his replacement never showed up for his interview. Is Imanol up to something? Or is he just nursing his wounded professional pride and jealousy, but still a good guy?

Candelario called Harvey because he saw guys outside the house. Harvey says Cande can blame Cabache or Dominguez but in any case, he'll take care of it. Right.

What's with the tape on Max's fingers? [If you've already explained that, sorry. I did notice it disappeared when he was playing 'artiste' to seduce poor pretty Jhonny.]

MADE IN CARTAGENA:

Thank you Hombre and NovelaMaven for filling in all the blanks from last night's episode. Thank you Hombre for the currency exchange info. With the fast pace (especially with the dialogue), it definitely helps understand what is happening.

NovelaMaven - I have been wondering about the tape on Max's fingers since the first episode. He only seems to have it on when he's with the gang, but in public (at the museum with Jhonny) he doesn't have the tape on.

This is definitely getting interesting.

Pasion Prohibida:
Another Amy, gracias! yes that's the lyric my ear couldn't catch, I only heard "mirada."
AdrianaN, you're off the "hook," thanks and thanks for recap.
Okay, Bianca is insecure, immature, and her judgment is seriously flawed. She went ahead with the abortion without even discussing it with Ariel. Now, she wants a divorce? But she protests she loves him, which was definitely not my impression when they got married. I thought she married him to spite Flavia. Her effort to assert herself with the staff was an epic fail. Question is, is she likeable? Doesn't our Protagonista need to be likeable? And speaking of immature, what about Penelope's meltdown when she tried to burn down the house? Who is likeable in this TN?
Confused. I was wondering in my comment abovce whether Telemundo fare followed different TN "rules" since I am not so familiar. Then there's the Turkish angle. I'll keep watching.

La Patrona -

there is a death list on the wiki page, with episode numbers, but it doesn't contain Gabriela's unborn baby or the two lawyers that are on Beth's list, but it does have Pascual Duarte, (I had to think hard on this one), who was going to help Tigre with his mine, but was kidnapped by Macario, beaten, interrogated, then killed, his death was determined by Lagarto to be a suicide, but Gaston saw the body.

and wasn't Max's purpose in seeing Gabriela to tell her about David, and what a snot he turned out to be? It will be interesting to see what he is like now. They seem to have done some good casting in choosing the replacement actors. I see one listed for Valentina as well, so I guess she will still be with us.

Pasion Prohibida

Clara, about who is likeble in this TN, there is a very insightful interview with the cast of PP, you find it on youtube. They talk about how interesting it is for them to play characters that are so flawed, that are not the typical good or bad people you usually see in TN. Many times we complain that the villans are to cartonish and the protagonist so good that they become stupid; in PP I don't believe anyone risks to be "to good", maybe Ariel a little, but he is starting to wake up.

That being said, I agree with you that they still have to be likeble, in order for us to care about them.
But I for one, am not sure I have to like Bianca in order to want to watch; all I know is that I watch PP to see how B&B end up hookig up, it's all about the chemistry for me. I think this is a train wreck waiting to happen and you rarely see a story like this in TN and have the actual protagonists involved. The fact that none of the characters act like you think they will, it's just another thing that keeps me interested.

I have seen so many TN over the years, I find PP refreshing and more true to life. That is why I watch...and for the song (thanks Amy, for the lyrics), and for JC Canela :)

EL ROSTRO

NovelaMaven, that was an EXCELLENT recap of where this show is at the present time.

I've watched an occasional episode lately and have been mystified by a number of things. I wondered how Diego got to be the head of the bank. Is Luciano really no longer plotting against and hating him?

I also wonder how Samaniego and Laura ended up in love with each other.

Glad to see Braterina's scheme to trap Diego into marriage was foiled. That seemed to take forever.

I hope Alicia isn't the niña monstrua. Poor Diego deserves to end up with someone.

EL ROSTRO

Thanks, Novelera.

Luciano is still hostile to Martín but he isn't actively plotting against him right now. He wants his thing with Diana to work and he also wants to keep the bank afloat. Attacking Martín would be a dumb thing to do (yeah, like that ever governs behavior on telenovelas!)

I'm not sure exactly how Laura and Samaniego fell in love. At some point they realized their respective spouses had lied to them both and cheated on them with each other. They both had an interest in learning the truth while E & V were busy hiding it. They DO make kind of a cute couple though. :-)

LA PATRONA

When La Tuerta and Antonio Guerra are in a room together, it's like evil to the 10th power!

After seeing Gabriela, who told her she'd finish her off if she had to do it in hell, Guerra goes to Doctora Vampira and asks her to kill her right away.

The one-eyed one reminds her that, unlike Constanza, everyone in San Pedro del Oro knows Gabriela is in there, and killing her would result in some sort of investigation.

I had to look up the word for what La Tuerta then suggests, although I sort of got it in context any way. She said that Gabriela would morir de inanición (die of starvation) because she'd be too crazy to eat. Charming.

PASIÓN PROHIBIDA

The chemistry b/w B&B is off the charts. I melt everytime Bruno says her name.

LA PATRONA

Deb - good catch on Pascal Duarte. I'd forgotten about the poor fellow. Gaston had made a lot of noise over the air waves about the "suicide" being a cover up for a murder based on the condition of the body.

I'm not sure if ratting David out was Max's only reason for sneaking in to see Gaby. It seems to me that in his impulsive thinking he wanted to "help" her and maybe get her out of the manicomio, but of course we saw what happened.

Novelera, my CC said "die of starvation" and then "too crazy to eat" and "special liquid diet" which I interpreted as Dr. Death would state that Gaby, in her psychosis, was refusing to eat in spite of their best efforts to feed her.

I'm hoping that Casanova doesn't die in the fire and will be around, creating problems for the lobos.

LA PARTONA - capitulo 33:

Macario is ordered by Antonia to kill Constanza's lawyers after he finally gets her confession on everything her husband has done so far. Before he retrieves it, he threatens to harm the guy lawyer's family and the poor man is more than helpful. I think it's a bad move of the lobos to retrieve that letter in that way because afterall capital city isn't SPDO where everything can be done to their advantage.
Leter, Antonia and senator read the letter and Antonia is angry that Constanza had the audicity to include her in the confession. She also adds that it's a realy dangerous thing in the hands of their enemies. But to my surprise, the letter isn't shown being destroyed.

The one-eyed bruja of a doctor notices Max and immediatelly is alarmed that sth is going on. She takes two guards with her and she starts questioning poor Max who has taken over a job of his friend to be able to sneak in to the manicomio. She gets his documents which show Max last name as Suarez. She isn't surprised and starts threatening him by saying she will call the police and have him arrested for breaking in and kidnapping. When Max says he isn't afraid she adds a rape into it. Then Max calls her a witch, she slaps him and then Gabriela looses it. She starts screaming at her not to touch her brother as she won't allow them to hurt him as they have done to her. One-eyed bandid is glad Gaby finally dropped her act of being loca and she orders the guards to let Max free and the other ones to get Gaby to a room and put her in a straightjacket. While being dragged away, Gaby shouts to Max that she loves him.

In the meantime, Lucho is having a tour of the manicomio and he lets himself in a room of Casanova and he frees him of his straightjacket. He also manages to get into Gaby's room and she says they have to escape tonight because they could see no tomorrow.

Antonia also visits Gabriela who correctly guesses that the old witch is there to tell Gaby of her impending death becuase now the lobos have Constanza's confession and there is nothing left what can protect the good guys. When Guerra boasts to Gabriela that she is more rica than ever and Gaby has spent the last 4 years in that god-forsaken institution, Gabriela restors that she is rich because she stole Tigre's mine and that all affection around her is simply bought and a day will come when she is left alone and miserable. Antonia says that Gaby has threatened to take her down but yet, she is still locked. Gaby says that she is sure Antonia is surprised Gaby doesn't cry or beg for her life. She insists she won't and once again she reassures Guerra she'll get her, even in hell. She swears it por David.

LA PATRONA - cap. 33 - PART 2:

Lucho comes back to Gaby, saying that Antonia is a real witch with a great body and they really have to escape. Unfortunatelly, the mean nurse, Romina, catches him and he's sent to the catacombes. He tries working his magic on a old lock with the help of his paperclip but to no avail.

In the meantime, a Guerra witch has a talk with a one-eyed bandid. She is pissed off that Gaby is still sane and what is more, she acts as a Queen after 4 years in that place. She says she wants Gaby dead. But Vampire Doctor answers that despite her methods, Gaby is tough to break and she cannot kill her because people don't get killed in her hospital, they die. Besides, every resident of SPDO knows that Gaby is there and killing her will only arise suspicion. They agree that since then Gaby is on a special diet - water. She'll die of starvation because afterall, she is loca.

Patricia confronts her father about his lover but he catches her off guard by asking what she was doing in that motel. He defends himself that it was an innocent fling with no importance. They agree to keep each other secrets. She says she won't tell mum when her mum of course appears and asks what's going on. Patricia covers for them by saying dad has a surprise for her since he loves her ssssoooo mmuuuccch :)

Later Alejandro, Irene, Patricia and her husband play cards in the club. Irene teases Patricia and they have a sisterly bickering. Max comes over to the table and wants to speak to Ricardo. He tells him about Gabriela's situation and insists she is in a grave danger. When Ricardo asks for proofs, Max says about his mother's bad feelings. Ricardo answers he cannot do anything based on intuition. What's more, Gaby is loca. Max insists she isn't, she spoke to him. Alejo, who was fed up with bi***y Irene, overhears it.

At the same time, Casanova gets to the kitchen. He is happy when he sees an oven. He puts a white cap on himself and turns the gas on. He grabs a can with some liquid and stars pouring it everywhere.

Gaby is praying for Lucho to show up and set her free. Suddenly she smells smoke. She sees fire through a window and scream FUEGO.

Lucho is again trying to unlock the door when he smells smoke too. He stars screaming for help, saying he doesn't want to die there.

Constanza also smells smoke and it wakes her up a little bit.

Romina catches Casanova in the common room. He pours the liquid on her, she tries to escape but he lits a match and she has no chances. She burns alive.

We see people escaping from the institution (one burning alive) when one-eyed bandid sees fire on the cameras. Instead of calling firefighters, she grabs some files. Wonder whose files they are.

Lucho frantically works again on the old lock with his paperclip. Then Gabriela shows up out of blue and frees him. He is so happy and they hug. He says he owns her his life.

Hope it helps a little.
Greetings from Poland :):)

I'm waiting for the next episode as well becuase it simply means the beginning of la venganza :):):)

But at first, I have to go to sleep :):) It's almost 2 a.m. in here.

NovelaMaven, muchisimas gracias for your excellent
summary of "El Rostro". It was SO MUCH more than I
expected. Call me crazy, but I still enjoy this program
despite not speaking Spanish. Now, thanks to you, I can
enjoy it even more.
