Amor Bravío #149 (Uni 144) Tue 3/19/13 Roman is blessedly silent and Miriam learns her ABC’s.

Straight to the new stuff --

Amanda’s Hostal
Aaron shares a cuppa and some wisdom with Nati.  As all brides-to-be do, she sits with her notepad scribbling down wedding plans.  She’s very busy with the boda.  She originally wanted a small wedding but Daddy Dearest really wants the huge social event of the year.  Aaron wisely asks she wants.  (see how he does that Dr. Phil thing?)  She giddily responds she just wants the day  to be here now, she can’t wait to be married!  Aaron is happy because he’ll be able to attend.  He plans to leave soon after Rafa’s book release.  She’s sad to see him go.  He’s been very happy here and has found it an enriching experience.  He almost hates to leave but his peeps in Chiapas are waiting for him.  Amanda walks in and announces that through Daddy Dearest’s fault, Agustina’s been arrested!  Nati is all impactada, “Que?”

Buenaventura
Pablo meets Bratgirl Iliana out front.  He didn’t come in cuz he didn’t want his dad or Hissadora to see him speaking with her.  He explains Rocio already told him about what she saw.  Ileana swears it’s the truth.  She knows she’s told some fibs in the past but this is really the truth.  He must believe her!  He agrees to believe her if she is able to get those drops to him in order to have them analyzed.  They’ll then know for sure whether or not it’s medication or some type of emburujo (I thought this meant witchcraft but Span¡shD!ct says it means ruse/trick).  Ileana’s not sure but agrees to get those drops for him one way or another.  She’ll even get a dropper to exchange it for the one Hissadora is using and no one will be the wiser.  She’ll give it to him tomorrow before her parents come to take her away (yay!).  She assures him no one else knows about this, not even Yago.  She’s afraid he wouldn’t believe her and run to Cayetano and Hissadora in order to get her in trouble.  She assures him he’ll have those drops tomorrow and tells him not to worry.  While the drops are being analyzed, Cayetano will only be receiving water drops and can’t be hurt.  Therefore, Yago doesn’t need to know until they get the lab results

Amanda’s Hostal
Amanda has taken a seat and has explained what happened to good ol’ Gussie.  They have no proof, as usual, but everything points to Dionicio being involved in the retirement scheme in one way or another.  Natalia refuses to believe Daddykins could be behind this.  Amanda reminds her that Dionicio told her himself about the retirement funds and that this was the reason he hired her to begin with.  Flashback to Dionicio telling Nati that no one knows he’s the owner of the retirement fund business.  Nati repeats that she can’t believe he would be so mean as to allow his wife to be arrested and then wash his hands of it.  Why, that would be a dirty trick (canallada). No puede ser!  He’s demonstrated himself to be such a wonderful father!  That might be so, says Amanda, but that doesn’t mean he’s a good person.  On the contrary, what he’s done to Agustina even God wouldn’t forgive.  If Gussie doesn’t get out of la delegacion, she won’t survive in jail!  Aaron suggests she speak with Dionicio.  If it’s true he’s behind the retirement fund, maybe he can help Gussie.  Amanda reminds her how kind the Monterde family has been to her all these years. She couldn’t possibly believe more in Dionicio than in the Monterdes, who she’s known all her life.  Nati agrees that although she wants to continue seeing Dionicio as a loving father, there is a lot pointing in the other direction.  Amanda understands this must be difficult for her.  Nati agrees to speak with Dionicio so that Gussie doesn’t wind up in the pokey, the hoosegow, the slammer!

Buenaventura
Cayetano sits behind his desk and Hissadora stands behind him, fawning all over him as she explains they were married in the Bahamas, combining all their assets, isn’t that right, lambie pie?  He agrees.  They’re speaking to his lawyer.  Hissadora further explains that as a wedding gift, Cayetano has agreed to give her Buenaventura.  She instructs the lawyer to modify the six-month land grant agreement and make it permanent.  The lawyer pointedly asks Cayaterado if this is what he wishes.  Caye numbly agrees.  Okie doke!  The attorney promises to begin work on that immediately!  The attorney asks if he’s ok.  He’s noticed Caye is a bit strange when he gets up.  Caye explains he’s just tired and Hissie quickly claim it’s due to all the emotion *wink, wink*.  The menfolk leave and Hissadora wastes no time in calling Dionicio to tell him the news and saying once the property deal is sealed, she’ll start combining the drug with a few other ingredients to finish off Cayetano once and for all.  (bwahahaha)  Dionicio urges her to act quickly cuz Estevez is surely going to start putting on the pressure soon.  Time is of the essence!  Well, he’s got some news too!  Gussie’s been arrested and will very soon be in jail!  “GUAU,” hisses Hissadora, “Finally we’ll be rid of the tacky (cursi) and ridiculous Agustina.”

La Delegación
Camila and the rest of the Scooby Crew arrive (Dan’s lost the over the shoulder sweater look – yay!).  Teresa’s working on getting a visit with Agustina but hasn’t been able to get bail.  Camila is understandably upset.  Mariano suggests she calm down. Possibly there’s another way to resolve this.  He asks if anyone’s been able to reach Dionicio.  The Crew responds in the negative.  Camila swears that if she can’t get a hold of him via the phone, she’ll go see him personally – she will not be ignored!  Teresa, still in her slinky LBD, explains he has been summoned to appear at la delegación tomorrow.

The Lion’s Den
Nati has come to speak to him about Agustina  (sporting her new Jungle Jane look).  How could he allow her to be arrested?  He has the nerve to act as though he has no idea to what she’s referring!!!  Nati explains and assumes the retirement funds business is the one he owns because he’s the one who got her involved to begin with, right?  He still pretends he knows nothing.  Nati tells him not to pretend no one told him anything.  He swears this is the first he hears of this.  But now that he knows, of course he’s going to help Gussie.  Why, he’s going to hire the best high faluttin’ attorney in Mexico to get her out of that there hoosegow!

La Delegación
Oh, poor, poor, Lady in Lavendar.  A woman is screaming that she’s been there long enough and wants out.  Another shouts back at her to shut her trap.  All this while, our poor Gussie cowers in the dark, her hands over her ears as if that will somehow block out everything going on around her.  Camila walks up and they have a tearful reunion and Gussie asks for forgiveness.  She thinks Camila must be embarrassed to have her mother accused of fraud and behind bars.  Oh, the shame!  Camila, of course, feels nothing of the kind.  She will never be embarrassed and will always be proud of her mother.  She knows Gussie’s innocent and soon everything will be alright.  Gussie feels she may be innocent of fraud but she is guilty of marrying Dionicio, placing him as though on an altar and  putting him before her daughters.  She deserves jail for being such an idiot, for allowing herself to be deceived, allowing Dionicio to have such power over her entire being.  Camila  assures her everything will be fine.  She’s not sure how she’s going to do it, but Gussie will be free again.  She wipes away her mother’s tears and they embrace through the bars.

Out in the lobby area, Ozzie tells Mariano that Gussie discovered Dionicio and Hissadora swapping spit!  Mariano is outraged!  Ozzie continues to tell how Dion tied her up then made up the story she was ill to explain her absence from the dinner table.  Mariano can’t believe it.  Ozzie explains they haven’t told Camila yet cuz she’s got enough on her plate already.  (why  doesn’t anyone ever wanna tell anyone anything!!!!)  If she were to find out what Dionicio did to her mother, he doesn’t know what she’d be capable of doing.  Mariano understands but thinks she’ll have to know sooner or later.  Ozzie agrees and says he’s only telling Mariano because it affects his father also.  Mariano agrees but says his father will never listen to anything against Hissadora unless he sees it with his own eyes.  He explains how his Nana saw Dion enter Hissadora’s hotel room, and still Cayetansiego wouldn’t believe anything was amiss.  Ozzie worries that by the time Cayetansiego opens his eyes, it’ll be too late.  Just look as what happened to Gussie!  Mariano is worried about his father.  Hissadora wants everything and if his father isn’t careful, she just may get it.

Across the room, the Scoobies philosophize about Dion’s evilness.  Vivi can’t believe Dionicio’s Machiavellian deeds.  Aaraon adds that good and evil coexist and are always at odds.  Rafa gets his dos centavos in by adding that sooner or later justice prevails and that’s what renews their confidence in life. They can only hope that this is the case in this situation.  Dion’s evilness will soon be discovered.  Daniel, who’s been silently pacing the floor, says until they have proof of Dion’s misdeeds, the accusations mean nothing.

Back at Gussie’s cell, she worries about Camila who assures her she’ll be fine.  She’s sure Gussie will be out soon.  Momma’s not so sure.  That Dionicio is one bad hombre and means to do them harm.  Camila gives her the old pep talk – they’ll show Dion they are capable of defending themselves.  Gussie asks her daughter to swear she won’t put herself at risk in order to save her (Gussie).  Camila just wants her to know she’ll be out soon enough. She shares her dream of taking a long vacation, just the two of them.  Gussie cries and wonders how she could want that when she’s been so dumb.  But, she’s learned her lesson.  It saddens Camila to know how that came to be.  She understands it was love that hurt her but reminds her it’s important to love oneself first before loving others.  Gussie says there will be no more men in her life.  She’s had more than enough in her life.  Of her three husbands, the only one worth the bother and her love was Camila’s father.  But God took him too soon.  Camila doesn’t want to linger on that and says they can discuss this at greater length another time.  Right now she just doesn’t want any more harm to come to Gussie.  Gussie plans to dedicate herself to helping others if she gets out of jail and.  She wants to rebuild her life and rebuild her relationship with Camila.  She can ask Camila for forgiveness, but Ximena is no longer here, sniff.  She died thinking Gussie didn’t love her enough.  How she would love to turn back time to ask for her forgiveness.  Camila reminds her we all make mistakes. She’s sure Ximena has forgiven her and now she must forgive herself.  Gussie asks if Camila has forgiven her.  Camila explains she has nothing to forgive.  She wants Gussie to have faith that they’ll both get out of this together.

Dionicio’s  Lair
Dion assures Natalia that as soon as he speaks to his attorney, he’ll head straight over to La Delegacion, but gee look at the time.  Well, if not today, then it will be his top priority tomorrow.  Natalia accepts this of course.  She happy knowing, or thinking, that her father won’t leave Agustina abandoned.  Right?  Of course not, how would that be?  As they hug, a man walks in with Omar, carrying an envelope.  He is serving Dionicio with a summons to La Delegacion to answer to charges brought by Agustina that he’s the brains behind the fraud for which she stands accused!  Dionicio is all “QTH?”

La Delegación
Camila returns to the main lobby where the Scoobies wait.  She’s gotta get her mom outta there.  She’s in a bad state!  She’s depressed and regrets having confided in Dionicio – oh, how she hates that man.  Mariano immediately tries to calm her down.  Ozzie knows she’s thinking of going to speak with Dionicio and urges her not to do so.  He tells her about the summons for tomorrow.  They must wait to see what he says so they can confront him.  It would be counterproductive for Camila to go see him now.  She reluctantly agrees although she wants nothing more than to go over there and tell him exactly what she thinks of him.  The only bad thing Agustina did was idolize him.  Teresa suggests the best they can do now is bring Gussie some food and blankets (they don’t provide inmates with the basics?).  Everyone pitches in:  Daniel – comforter, pillow; Vivi – coffee, dinner, breakfast.  Camila insists they go now so her mom isn’t left wanting for anything.  Everyone disperses and Rafa goes to Daniel, offering to go pick up the blankets.  Daniel says he’ll go, this way he can be with Camila.  Not the way he wants, but he’s still near her.

Dionicio’s Lair
Dion is fuming that Agustina dared accuse him.  Nati wonders if she might have reason to accuse him.  Dion can’t believe she’s ask him that!  Well, Nati puts two and two together – Agustina worked at his Retirement Fund Business and now he’s been summoned.  He denies the business is his but Nati understood otherwise.  Doesn’t he remember telling her that he owned a Retirement Fund Business but that no one knew he was the owner?  (listen for the tap, tap, tap as Dionicio does his best Fred Astaire move) Dion:  “Uh, well, yes but Agustina can’t work in my business……cuz she’s my wife, yeah!  The rules of the business forbid her to work there to avoid problems and that’s precisely why I referred her to another franchise.  I had nothing to do with it!”  (Ta-da!  Pretty slick, ey?)  Nati has a look that says she’s really trying hard to believe him but she’s not quite there yet.  Dionicio notices this and says it hurts him to see she doesn’t trust him.  She doesn’t deny she’s lacking some trust so she asks him to do whatever he can to demonstrate he had nothing to do with happened to Agustina.  He promises he will.  He won’t allow anything to come between them.

LMQ Kitchen
The Help is just finishing a rosary prayed in support of Agustina.  As they break up the prayer, Eleuterio brings up Luzma’s separation from Pablo.  They’re all surprised.  Hipolito comes to the defense of his stepdaughter-to-be and tells them not to question her decision.  Piedad steps forward and also tells them she and Luzma may end up leaving LMQ.  QTH?  Hipolito explains Luzma needs to forget and will never be able to do so if she remains here.  He mentions where they go, he goes.  Rodofo*sigh* asks they at least wait a few days.  This latest issue with Agustina is a tough one and they owe it to the family to be supportive.  Luzma agrees to suspend their plans.

Buenaventura
Dinner table conversation:  Let’s see, who’s left at BV – Yago, Ileana, Hissadora, and Cayetansolo.  Hissa asks about the wedding plans, Cayetano insists Rocio not be invited. Yago wholeheartedly agrees.  Ileana tells Cayetano her father is coming for her in the morning and wishes to speak with him.  Hissadora wonders if Ileana has finished packing and cattily remarks she must have a lot since she’s been here so long.  Ileana responds not really but remembers she hasn’t finished yet and excuses herself from the table.  She and Yago exchange insults and Hissadora is alarmed that Cayetano put up with such a rude and ill-bred young woman for such a long time.  Cayetano can’t explain.  Maybe he felt beholden to her father.  Hissadodra has made him realize many things such as how others have taken advantage of him and that he’s allowed it. Yago wonders at how incredible it is that Hissadora can convince him of anything.  They’d all tried to convince him to boot out Ileana, even Pablo, but were unsuccessful.  Only Hissadora managed to succeed.  Hissadora explains that with love, you can do anything.  His father has realized she loves him so much that she only has his best interests in mind.  Cayetano:  “I have absolutely no doubt about that.  You’ve come to take the blindfold from my eyes.”  Issadora thoughbubbles: “And replace it with another, because it’s obvious I have dominated you.”  Out loud she tells him she loves him so much and will do so forever!

Elsewhere, Ileana goes to work.  She sneaks into Hissadora’s boudoir and goes through drawers and ultimately finds the dropper!  “I may leave here empty handed but you will too, Hissadora!”  Mission accomplished, she sneaks out.

La Malquerida
Pablo forlornly descends the stairs with his suitcase.  Mayalen meets him at the bottom an asks if he needs help, to which he responds he wishes he didn’t have to leave.  He sees Luzma, who tries to sneak away.  He asks her to at least ask him not to leave.  He reminds her he’s only leaving because she asked him to and he knows she needs time.  This is only a temporary separation and he hopes the distance will make it easier for her to overcome her issues.  He’ll be waiting to return to her and never leave again.  Luzma steps away without uttering a word.  Mayalen immediately steps up (she’s so obvious)  asking if he’s ok.  He replies he’ll never be ok without Luzma and ignores her hand on his shoulder.  Mayalen is clearly disappointed but maybe understands she’ll never have him. (I hope?)

Luzma ends up in the kitchen and cries on Hipolito’s shoulders because Pablo is leaving.  Hipo reminds her she asked him to leave.  She knows but it hurts to see him leave.  Hipolito insists she go after him and tell him she needs him.  Blah, blah, blah – the same thing – she’s doing this for his own good, it’s not fair, etc. etc.  He tells her love doesn’t hurt.  She argues that selfishness and hatred do hurt.  Leoncerdo got what he wanted – he had promised her she would never be able to be with another man.  (Ugh, hated typing those words just now)

Miriam/Dan’s Place
Miriam and Dante are enjoying dinner and she notices Daniel’s gone yet again.  Dante suggests they call and she explains if Daniel wanted her to know where he was, he would’ve called.  She complains, again, that they won’t be the same again until they can return to Chile and she can have him all to herself.  She changes the subject (thank you) and brings up Dante’s “secret love”.  She insists he should tell “her” how he feels.  Either he declares his love or fuget about it!  Dante almost chokes on his wine.  He agrees with her but love sometimes goes in only one direction; there’s no give and take and that’s his situation.  She suggests he turn the page then, because it’s just too painful.  It’s too painful to love someone who doesn’t love you (no te ama) who’s never loved you (nunca te amó),  and will never love you (nunca te amará).  (three conjugations in one sentence)  She’s never gone through that herself but Daniel’s distance causes her to imagine what Dante must be going through.  She couldn’t continue in a relationship if the love between her and her partner were over.

Vivi/Rafa’s place
The Scoobies come home to find Ramon fast asleep on the couch.  (good, maybe he won’t have any dialogue in this scene….shhh!)  Rafa carries him to his room – without a word (yay!).  Vivi thinks Rafa will miss Roman when he returns to the orphanage.  Camila wonders if Rafa will just give in.  Vivi doesn’t feel it’s a question of giving in to her.  He needs to feel he wants to be a father.  Well, enough of this subject (thank YOU Camila) they rush off to the kitchen to start preparing a meal for Agustina.  Everyone sits around the table to prepare sandwiches.  (ok, I have to say this.  They’ve just walked in from outside, having been at the delegación and no one washes their hands???  EWWWWWWW  Poor Gussie, that’s what’s gonna finish her off!)   They talk about that dastardly Dion.  Camila thinks Dion is doing this to get his hands on LMQ.  Mariano counsels her not to get ahead of herself.  Vivi chimes in that if Cami gives in all their hard work will have been for nothing and Dionicio ends up winning. Camila responds that they’ve gone through all these trials and tribulations for the love of LMQ.  Well, she’s reached her limit, maybe it’s time to give in.   Aaron tells her she mustn’t allow the fear to paralyze her, she can’t let Dionicio win.  Camila explains LMQ has been La Manzana de la Discordia  (reference to Greek mythology; euphemism for the center, or nucleus of an argument) and the obsession that has caused a lot of harm and even deaths.  So, despite how much she loves this place, and the toros, what she loves most is her mother.  She’d do anything for her.  They all fall silent.  Camila breaks it up and gets back to work on the ptomaine laden sandwiches.

Miriam/Daniel’s Place
Dante suggests Miriam get some rest and gets up to leave.  Daniel walks in just then (the sweater is back over his shoulders).  As soon as Dante leaves, Miriam turns into the shrew complaining about the late hour, he didn’t call, arms crossed and all!  He stutters and stammers that he had to go find Camila some 3 hours away.  Well, why did he have to go, wonders Miriam.  Daniel offers some lame excuse about Cam’s cell phone not getting a signal and she just had to know her mother had been arrested, right?  Same question from Miriam, why couldn’t anyone else go?  Her cousin Pablo, f’instance?  He explains it was an emergency and asks her to calm down.  For now he needs to get back to take Agustina some blankets and when he returns he’ll explain everything.  He reaches over to kiss her cheek, but she coldly turns away.  Ruh-roh.

LMQ
Luzma strolls to their tree stumps.  She cries as she speaks to Pablo’s photo, apologizing for not being able to make it work.  Flashbacks to their romance and wedding.  She asks forgiveness for getting Mayalen involved in being his surrogate Luzma.  She just wants him to realize she’s not indispensable.  This separation is indefinite.  It’s over.  She lights a match to the photo.  (Can anyone say “drama queen”?  I’m so over this storyline.)

La Delegación
Cam and Mariano arrive with Agustina’s “goodies”.  Daniel arrives with the blankets.  Dan and Cam stare into each other’s eyes.  She thanks him and he asks if there’s anything else he can do, anything at all clearly not wanting to leave.  He turns to leave but she calls him back.  She asks if he’s already filled out the LMQ paperwork signing over the land back to her.  He hadn’t but will do so in the morning. He wonders why then asks if Dionicio is asking for LMQ in return for her mother’s freedom?  (oh no, not again)  Camila says she just wants to be prepared.  Daniel tells her she can’t give in to Dion’s threats.  They go back and forth about how he did the same when it came to saving Camila’s life.  This is different, he says.  Camila’s life isn’t on the line now.  She responds her mother freedom is and she’ll do what she has to in order to avoid having her mother sent to prison.

Miriam/Daniel’s Place
Miriam is with Agatha and Caridad.  She goes to the dresser for another baby blanket and spies something in the top drawer.  (no, it’s not the wedding photo).  It’s Camila’s pendant!  She pulls it out and reads the inscription, “Por siempre and para siempre, tu y yo.”  She wonders why this is amongst Daniel’s things?  She asks Caridad, “Who does he know so intimately as to have this pendant with this inscription and the letter ‘C’?”  Caridad doesn’t know.  Miriam continues to think, “Hmmmm,  ‘C’ ---Camila!  Camila!  This pendant is Camila’s!”  Oh, lordy, Danny boy is surely in trouble now!

Hey, 'C' also stands for Caridad! Notice how she got all nervous when Miriam asked her about it? hmmmm, oh well -- I guess that would be for another TN.

QTH? Why are they continuing to ignore my Rodolfo? I can only hope it's because he's busy filming on another TN where he'll have a more prominent role.

Can't wait to see Daniel stammer his way through the explanation of his relationship with Camila.

Great pre bedtime reading Paquita! I also thought of Caridad when Miriam wondered who they knew whose name starts with "C". LOL!

Can't wait to see Dan do his own version of a tap dance to get out of that one.

You only left one thing out of your recap. Cam asks Dan if she can give her mom her/his Virgin medallion and he agrees.

Great scenes between Cam and Gussy. For all the Gussy haters, she is eating a whole pile of humble pies right now. Hopefully that satisfies any remaining bloodlust. :) Cam told her mom that it was important for them to love themselves above any man. I think this provides some insight into how she's chosen to handle the Dan situation.

Ok. Must sleep now.

Good work, Paquita.

Here is hoping that someone can get those fingerprints before Camila agrees to sign over La Malquerida to the devil.

To Cathyx about "novelas" in English: It was tried, but done badly. My9 tried it a few years ago and it was as though they intended it to fail:

1. Writing was poor. Stories were not sufficiently compelling.
2. Sex was still being treated like a 7th-grade locker room joke instead of intelligently and realistically (like in AB).
3. Bad casting/acting.
4. US TV audiences aren't ready for prime time on this stuff. This was asking audiences to completely change their viewing habits and patterns. It might have worked better if they had put it in Late Fringe instead where US audiences had watched M-F stripped programming for years.

Must get some zzzz's. See you guys tomorrow.

Vivi--thanks for catching that about the medallion! Must've gone completely over my head. I don't even remember the convo! Oopsie
Paq

drama queen? if she was a real drama queen, she'd have arranged to have someone besides our trusty cameraperson along to witness the event.

Nice recapping. So many ways for Miriam to find out the truth. Who had money on the necklace?

Except I was so impressed at how they all chipped in make food-Mariano did a nice job chopping those tomatoes-that I didn't notice how unclean they all were. But with Augie in jail, she should get used to germs.

For being such great evil characters Dio and Hissie really kinda suck at scheming. Aside from a few murders nothing has really worked out for them. Not now with Augie and Iliana (hooray! A name!) now foiling them.

Paquita, you crack me up. "ptomaine poisoning" I too was thinking why they all did not bother to wash their hands. Vi, I am a Gussie hater too. I was clapping my hands when she tearfully apologized to Daniel but I really cried and pitied her on the scene between her and Cam. I remember I was so disgusted with her when she reprimanded Cam about her karma. But now everything is forgiven. She is redeemed. About the Bratgirl, She too has redeeming qualities tho it looks like a little spiteful to me what she would do to Isadora. But thanks to her if this pulls thru.
I was saying "Duh" to Miriam about the "C" as in Camilla but same to me, cuz I did not see that it could stand for Caridad too. Hahaha.

Thank you, Paquita. I enjoyed reading this recap so much. Your comments are great.

I want to add Natalia to our list of helpful redeemables -- if not quite there yet. She kept after Dio and this may result in still another twist in his plotting against Augustina. We'll see. She wants to believe her father but did hear her mother's words about being loyal to people she has known all of her life.

Aaron as Dr. Phil. Perhaps it is time for him to go back to Chiapas.

I loved the way that Camila asked Vivi about the situation with Roman as she came in the door to get food for Augustina. The mark of a true friend. Their friendship, even with its bumps, has been a nice feature of this novela.

Teresa's dress aside, I think she has looked very pretty lately. The actress has the kind of sharp features that can make her look very cold or very pretty, depending on the outfit, the make-up, her hair. She is at her best personality-wise when in legal action mode.

Happy first day of Spring, all. It's slow in coming to the northeast this year, but we'll get there.

Paquita- In addition to enjoying the recap, I really loved the title. It gave me a good laugh.

Notice that although it seemed that the writers were being hard on Vivi, it's actually Rafa who has given/is giving in to Vivi's wishes, as Cam pointed out. After he went away for a few days, he decided that he could accept her desire not to get married, and they added a few more germs to Gussy's prison meal by making love on the dining table. And now it looks like he's coming around on the idea of adoption of Roman too.

I notice that Camila skirted around the issue when Gussy asked her not to do anything crazy to get her out of jail. Cam made it very clear to everyone that she would do whatever it takes to get her mama out of jail, whom she loves more than anyone else in the world. Dio knew Cam's Achilles heel, when he chose Gussy as his backup plan for getting what he wants from Cam-- MQ, and something else...

I was glad everyone was able to convince Cam not to go over to Dio's house to confront him. She was hot to give him a piece of her mind. But it would have been futile anyway.

However, I am disappointed by how easily Nat let Dio off the hook when she went to see him. She is still trying to fool herself that he is a good man. Come on Nat!

Paquita- It's not odd that you missed Cam asking Dan about the medallion. She was multitasking and did it between thanking him for the blanket, encouraging him to go home, and asking him to hurry up and cede the ranch to her. But it was a nice tender moment between the two of them. And I have been wondering for the past two weeks why neither of them has acknowledged that she's wearing a piece of jewelry that's so significant to both of them.

Traveling Lady- The Teresa actress is half Chinese-Mexican. I think her features are quite intesting and striking. I think she's pretty too, and I enjoy her more in lawyer/defender mode, than when she's in bitchy stalker girl mode. :)

Thanks for a fabulous recap, Paquita. My fave: Ozzie explains they haven’t told Camila yet cuz she’s got enough on her plate already. (why doesn’t anyone ever wanna tell anyone anything!!!!) My feelings exactly:)

Vivi - I don't think Natalia let Dio off the hook. I think she did a great job of forcing him to help Agustina. How he goes about pretending to do that remains to be seen, but Natalia, imo, is now skeptical about dear ole dad.

Paquita, thank you for an enjoyable read.

“Miriam turns into the shrew complaining about the late hour” Glad I wasn’t the only one who saw her like that. Boy, was she slow –I thought Caridad will start playing charade or something.

Martha: “I don't think Natalia let Dio off the hook. I think she did a great job of forcing him to help Agustina. How he goes about pretending to do that remains to be seen, but Natalia, imo, is now skeptical about dear” AGREED

I forgave Augustina the day she acknowledged how wrong she was about Danny boy and ask for forgiveness. She’s paying too extreme a punishment for just blindly believed in Dionisio’s lies – she doesn’t deserve such humiliation.

Tonight, Dan will be having a very bad day …

I don't think he will help Augustina. I think he will get a lawyer to throw the case for double his fee. He must already have someone like that on his payroll; we just haven't seen him yet.

I agree with UA that Dio will get a crooked lawyer into the act, who will NOT help Augustina. However, I also think that Natalia is a vulnerability for him, that she pressed him as well as she can at this point, and then there's the fact that he and Isadora are inept (if very dangerous!). Augustina's arrest brings so many plot threads together, that can go in a number of directions. This is not going to be the slam-dunk that Dio thinks it will be.

The plot twist of Daniel fighting Camila to keep the ranch in a good way for him to hang on both in his own and Camila's interest. This will present difficult emotional tugs for Camila.

Renata, you are so right. A coming bad day for Daniel. I hope that he will be the man we want him to be and tell the truth or something closer to the truth than he has so far. He's so NOT interested in Miriam and so very hooked on Camila that he's definitely not his best Daniel at the moment.

Paquita, thanks so much for a very helpful and delightful recap. I loved it, starting with the title.

It never occurred to me that the food preparers hadn't washed their hands after coming back from the delegación. Then again, I enjoyed Kelly's take on this: "But with Augie in jail, she should get used to germs."

Ozzie often gives wise advice, especially to Amanda re Nat, but I think he's WRONG WRONG WRONG!! about not telling Camila what happened to her mother at Dio's the night before. She needs to see the whole situation for what it is. Sigh.

Traveling Lady, I really liked your point about Dan fighting Cam to keep the ranch. I wonder whether that will be enough to throw a monkey wrench into Dio's plan to coerce Cam into turning LMQ over to him. Perhaps not, since surely the TN has to hit rock bottom in these últimas semanas before Justice and Love Triumph in the End.

One question about Leoncerdo. I'm beginning to wonder whether perhaps I understood him correctly in the garbage scene. He sees the three people coming for the garbage, and he says "No, pues sí, sí sólo un, dos, tres gendarmes cuidando basura. No le saques, no le saques." I took this to mean that he was sizing up his odds of taking out/overcoming all three and escaping. I continue to be unsure about "no le saques," however. Can anyone tell me for sure what this means here?

Juanita, I think he's observing that the guards are not taking the garbage bags out of bin themselves; they're just dumping them into the truck; so I'm assuming that he's thinking that if he were to hide in the garbage bin then he'll not be found out because the guards are not checking them - sacar; saques: take out

Myo-

Thanks Paquita, great job. I love your aside comments. I agree with them.

I thought Nat gave Dion a pass too. She tells him she's in jail, he acts surprised, but did nothing about it. No attempt to even visit her. And she doesn't seem alarmed by that. I'm so done with this fantasy life girl.

I'm also done with Luzma. She needs some serious help and I hate what she's doing to Pablo. She did this to him after the rape before the marriage also.

I didn't see Ileana replacing the drops with the other one filled with water. I hope she did it.

I also FF through the boring talk of Aggie and Cam. I didn't need to hear what she said, because it was very obvious.

I hope Dan doesn't cede the property to Camila now so that she won't give it to Dion.

I don't blame Miriam for being angry at Dan. He has been ignoring her and he's not treating her with much respect right now. And I also said that he didn't need to be the one who went to the ranch to give Cam that bad news. I let him off the hook because he's in love with her. I get that. Now Miriam will finally get that too. Finally.

Myo, thanks very much for the explanation. I think you're probably right. I knew that saques was from sacar, but that's a word that can have several meanings, and I was confused. I guess I focused mostly on the first part of the quote: "No, pues sí, sí sólo un, dos, tres gendarmes cuidando basura." That made me think that he was sizing up his chances of overpowering the guards, since there were only three of them.

Cathyx- Iliana did walk in with the dropper bottle full of water in hand and replaced the other one. This was VERY good thinking on her part. For once, I'm in support of one of her plans, and this one is actually a good one.

Gussy's attitude towards Daniel started changing around the time of him getting the virus and her doubting Dionisio. Also, Dionisio's reaction to the bulls/Daniel being saved. Remember, she was asking Camila how his health was and happy that the vaccine got to the ranch in time.

Gussy DID like Daniel when he was "Andres" but she was so caught up in:

Andres being a choffer and beneath them socially

Andres turning out to be Daniel, the true heir to the ranch

Daniel being the son of Agatha, the woman she hated all her life

Daniel getting the ranch instead of Camila

proving to everyone that Daniel was the liar and Dionisio was the good one

that she didn't want to see that Daniel could be a pretty good partner for Camila.

Gussy's always had nagging doubts, but now she knows that what Camila, Daniel, Vivi, Rafa etc. was telling her was true: Dionisio is a very bad person.

So now Gussy's on her apology tour to Camila, Osvaldo, Amanda etc. What I'd like to see is Gussy apologize to Daniel, even though he knows she is sorry. After all she's done and said to her, he still raced to Agustina's aid in her time of need without reproaching her.

Miriam, on the other hand, is about to go hard on everyone* (Daniel, Dante, Abraham, everyone) when she finds out Daniel & Camila got married.

*I doubt Miriam will go hard on Camila because she will feel sorry for her.

I'm so happy Miriam is finally getting a clue. I just can't stand the woman. "When we were in Chile . . . ", how many times can she say that??? Everything is always about her, she is a self-centered shrew. She looks too old for Daniel anyway. Make her go away now!!!!

Thanks Paquita. Love the recap.

Did anyone see Ileana leave the fake drops?—Thanks Vivi, I missed that.

I think Teresa is “ugly” when she’s in bitch mode and pretty when she’s in “I’m kinda into Dante” mode.

I was afraid when Miriam and Caridad were putting the budgekin to bed, that Cari was going to spill the beans about what she heard. I didn’t expect the necklace.

I agree. It’s time to tell Miriam. She’s been under A LOT of stress lately and has had no problems. Stressing about the love of her life being lukewarm in his affections is plenty stressful, too.

I also agree that Cam needs to know what Dio did to her mother. I think Cam thinks she can still reason with D and if she knew what he had done, she might take a different tack. I agree that at the moment Os mentioned it was not the time—Cam needed a chance to process. But now she needs to know.

Anon207: I thought Agustina did apologize to Dan at LMQ before she was arrested. “*I doubt Miriam will go hard on Camila because she will feel sorry for her.”—interesting.

TL: My sister just e-mailed me a gripe about the weather in Indiana being so cold on the first day of Spring. She is just not a cold weather person.

Nanette

Vivi, thanks for saying that Iliana did walk in with a dropper bottle full of water. I confess that I was so nervous when she entered the room that I closed my eyes! When I got the courage to open them again, she was exiting with a dropper bottle, but I didn't see that she'd put another in its place.

Anon207, I think Gussie in essence apologized to Daniel when she expressed surprise and gratitude to him for his help even though she had behaved so badly toward him.

Thanks for your recap, Paquita. I enjoyed your asides particularly about Roman being quite. Though I blame the director for his poor acting; its the director's responsibility to module the actor/actress.

I am just overjoyed that Ilana actually seems to have succeed in her plan. It may have taken the entire TN for her to get it right but better late than never.

Nanette - I too live in IN and today is the coldest its been in a while with no real sign of spring in sight :(

Paquita, thank you once more for another fabulous recap.

“Can anyone say “drama queen”? I’m so over this storyline.”
Word. Luzma is acting like a poster child for why 18 year olds should not marry. I know that she has serious trauma and that Pablo is in his early twenties, but his child bride is driving the situation. At least he seems to think she’ll get over it. Why are the adults acting like her decision is permanent? Don’t most teenage love spats last a few days at the most?

Vivi: “Cam told her mom that it was important for them to love themselves above any man. I think this provides some insight into how she's chosen to handle the Dan situation.” ITA, although I do see some other options that were available to her as loving herself in a better way, or at least which would have led to a better outcome. I do love how this message is presented here, though. It is not a good idea to value being married to a man, any man, over the love of your daughters. Similarly, Camila has indicated that she would sign over the MalQ to free her mother because she values her mother over any piece of property. As much as I've been rooting for the MQ all this while, I see her point and I see her weariness of all the fighting. She just wants some peace and normality and I can't blame her at all.

Yay for Iliana finally doing something useful and smart! And what happened to Cayetano’s weird, bald, monotone lawyer? Were we not supposed to notice he suddenly has a good-looking, normal one?

I thought Gussy’s attitude towards Daniel had started to soften by the time they returned from their honeymoon and she seemed genuinely pleased to welcome them home. She also told Camila at some point after Dan left the MQ the first time that she had seen how happy he made her and how much in love they were. When Dan hugged Gussy the a couple of episodes ago, she acknowledged to him that she had been unfair. Maybe it wasn’t quite an apology, but it seemed good enough for Dan, who has been very forgiving towards her.

I sure hope that Miriam figures out what is going on, but somehow I doubt it. She doesn’t have a very good track record of putting pieces together and her pollyanna-ish wishful thinking blinds her from reality. I think she is willfully blind in a similar way that Gussy, Nat, and Caye have been, although not as badly. She’s going to need to get clobbered over the head. That necklace won’t do it, and especially not when that wedding picture is still waiting for her to find. QTH was that necklace doing as the only item in that top drawer? Did Dan WANT Miriam to find it or something?

I have always thought that Teresa was incredibly beautiful.

Juanita, lol about your closed eyes! That scene was very tense for me, too. Usually I have to close my eyes during graphic violence.

Hi, all. Paquita, beautiful work on this recap. Love how you crossed out Iliana's old name. We all knew she had a role to play before returning to her ne'er-do-well mami & papi.

I'm also having trouble figuring out Leoncio's game plan with those buckets o'basura. Is he planning to stow himself away amongst the Hefties? Because if it takes three guys to muscle that cart up into the truck instead of using a mechanical lift, don't you think they'd notice an additional 200 lbs or so?

And I'm with whoever thinks Nati is NOT giving Dio a pass for his disregard of Aggie's distress. This actress has very expressive eyes (over-the-top, you might say) and I think I caught a sense of alarm and reservation in how far she allowed herself to push the issue. She was very forthright in demanding an explanation, but then she seemed to pull back when he went into full fakery mode. I think she got a sixth sense not to pursue the point and that she might even be reappraising his character. I'm still remembering that she was a smart, independent thinker at the beginning before she got seduced by Daddy dearest demonio Dionisio.

And Hallelujah, Ramon never even opened his mouth! But I worried a little that Rafa might end up with a hernia, picking him up like that.

Looking forward to Miriam ripping Danny a new one, cuz, I think she's taken the gloves off now. Cannot wait for him to stop shrugging and mumbling and stand up straight and face the music (and ditch the sweater). This ought to be quite the scene.

“they don’t provide inmates with the basics?”

No, they do not. I have been holding back (and it ain’t easy, sistah friend!) on the completely unrealistically sanitized jails/prisons shown on TNs. Has this not been discussed here? I posted this link before but it was at the very end of a thread, so I am not sure who saw it. For a reality check that is NOT pretty, take a look at this or any “Locked up Abroad”:

World’s Toughest Prisons: Mexico (from National Geographic – excellent)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ODA86LDauCE&feature=player_embedded

A much more realistic portrayal of an escape from a Chilean prison. Check out the prison conditions.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z8YkIZAxJdE

From the US State Department:
Prison Facilities: Prison conditions in Mexico can be extremely poor. In many facilities food is insufficient in both quantity and quality, and prisoners must pay for adequate nutrition from their own funds. Many Mexican prisons provide poor medical care, and prisoners with urgent medical conditions may receive only a minimum of attention. U.S. citizens who are incarcerated in Mexico are sometimes forced to pay hundreds and even thousands of dollars in “protection money” to fellow prisoners. From 2008 through 2011, 30 U.S. citizen deaths in Mexican prisons have been reported, including at least 13 apparent homicides.

(It seems to me that anyone who the other prisoners think may have some money, like Gussy, Dio or Isa, would also be targeted for ‘protection money’.)

Yes, I think the old Natalia is coming back. She was one shrewd lady before, and she admitted to her mom that things didn't look too good as far as his character is concerned. I'd love to see Natalia play Daddy Not-Dearest the fool, making him believe in her, and then being in the mix of those who bring him down.

As for Ileana, yes, she switched the drops. It's hard to forget that her past actions led to Luzma's rape, but if she can save Cayetano, then she'll have done something good for a change.

As for Miriam, I like how she said to Dante that she could never remain in love with someone who no longer loved her. She's a lot tougher than I thought she was, and I hope she gets Daniel (el cobarde) to tell her what's up with him and Camila. Btw, I may think Dan is a coward, but I still like him.

Oh, dear Agustina, yes, she messed up big time, but she doesn't deserve this. She sounds almost suicidal at this point. I fear for her....

Lastly, Luzma is now over the top for me. If she can't see that what she's doing hurts Pablo more than her inability to have sex with him at this point, then she's in serious denial.

OK. I'm going to trust you guys that Nat saw through all of Dio's bs. Just seemed to me that she was trying too hard to believe him, although I’ll give her props for openly admitting that she wasn't 100% sold.

Marta- Thanks for pointing out the huge plot propeller-- Miriam clearly stating that she wouldn't be able to stay with a man who didn't love her anymore/as much as she loves him. Once she knows the real deal between Dan and Cam, her marriage is over for her. I did laugh when Dante nearly choked on his salad and wine when she asked him about his impossible love. LOL!

Time for Dante and Teresa to see if there could really be something between them. I noticed that each time Teresa said she was going anywhere (Chile or the police station), Dante's first reaction was to offer to go with her, although she suggested that he stay with Miriam while she went to the popo station.

Yes, Vivi, that was hilarious when Dante nearly choked on his salad!

I noticed too that Dante seems to want to accompany Teresa now wherever she goes....hope this goes in an amor direction:)

I wonder what would happen if somehow the Scoobies found out just how close Dio and Isa are to being incarcerated for fraud themselves. Camila might be near the breaking point of giving up the MalQ, but if she - or Dan, Oz, Mariano - knew that if she holds out, both Dio and Isa go to jail, they could certainly use that to their advantage.

Maybe Naty could facilitate that.

Of course if Isa gets ahold of the BA, they will be able to sub that property to the investor group, or so they seem to think. Someone needs to get on that situation and soon.

Vivi, I'm going in the opposite direction. She believes the fantasy that she has built in her mind. She wasn't appalled at all that he would wait to visit Aggie tomorrow when there were people visiting Aggie as they spoke. If he were truly upset by the news, no one could have stopped him from going to the jail to try to see her. This didn't really bother Natalia that he would wait another day.

About the retirement fund, we don't know if Dion really is part of that company or not, but I would doubt it. He wouldn't have planned to set Aggie up for a fall that could also bring himself down with it. All he has to do is say that he has nothing to do with Aggie's work and he has no idea what she did with the money.

If Camila actually signs over the property to get Augustina free does she have any chance at getting it back? Because we know perfectly well that if she does El Diablo will find a way of disposing of Augustina permanently because her very existence is in the way of him assuming his perverted ownership of Camila. So far the only person who seems to realize this is Daniel.

I agree that Nat has a long way to absorbing the truth about Daddy Dearest.

Glad to know that Iliana went in that room with a replacement dropper bottle. I wasn't sure. She may actually turn out to be a better schemer than our current bad guys if this succeeds. Look out Yago! But good for her. Dio-0: Iliana-hopefully 1.

Kelly

Great title, Paquita. I do miss your Ay Papi's in the recaps lately, though. Are you going to watch or recap QBA? The avances with Jorge in Charro are worthy of a couple of Ay Papi's in capital letters.

Thank you for the effort in a rather shifty episode (I mean scene shifting, natch). Don Manuel was three hours away? Who would have thunk it. No wonder Dan wanted a change of scenery for the ride home, even if it was having to sit in the back seat and watch Camila with Mariano.

Did anyone mention the coinkidink that when Cam & Mar were on their way *to* Don Manuel's the radio was playing her's and Dan's sad love song and she asked Mar if she could change it and when she did, it was playing Mar's love song. I was surprised she didn't turn that one off, too.

Lady in Lavender was a perfect description for Gussy last night--she doesn't belong there, but she does on another level. We've had a lot of Mexican jail scenes where if families or friends don't bring them bedding, clothing and food, they're just out of luck. Those places are pretty public (men guards) and pretty spare (concrete benches). I remember when Jeronimo spent quite a bit of time in the local jail, Nata wanted him to take a bath first thing. These jails are meant to be temporary. It's one thing to be held in the local jail waiting testimony (as in Issa), another to have enough evidence against you to hold you until trial and/or disposition and sentencing, for which you get sent to prison (as in Leoncio).

Dio only knows how to lie--Carolina, are you listening? I think he presses an internal button and out comes the next lie. The way he was delivering his lies, though make me think Nat is not hearing his sing-song, tell-tale "I'm really lying to you." He promised Nat he'd hire the *BEST* abogado in all of Mexico to get Gussy out of jail.

I noticed, too, that Dan was trying not to leave Camila at the jail. She was really cold to him at first, with her muchas gracias.

Baby Aggie has sure gotten comfortable on the set. I saw how she reached for Caridad and smiled. Does anyone know if she's the real mother? I realize they needed someone to hand off the baby to so MM could go about being the extra wife.

Don't know about anybody else, but in that last scene, where MM is really steamed at Dan, she looked a lot older than Dan. Doesn't really matter, it's just an observation.

Yay, Blabgirl. I'm not quite ready to let her use her given name, yet.

OT-English novelas-UA--Did you watch The Killing on A&E? They promised one whole show in one season that had a beginning, middle and end. The end was disappointing to me, but it had some great character development.

After reading the recap, I'm now wondering if Dio is going to be taken down in the middle of Natalia's boda, hopefully before the I Do's are said. And Yago will just turn his back and walk right out the door, saving Nattie from a life of misery and propelling her into the arms of Rodolfo. (The Rodolfo actor has a nice Facebook page, BTW. But I'm not looking at it again until this is over, just in case there are spoilers.)

I don't think it was natural for Luzma to be burning her wedding photo. It's not as if Pablo did anything to hurt her. (Augustina should burn hers, of course.) I think it would be more natural for Luzma to be putting it away in a box in the top of the closet.

I can't wait to find out where Dan has "hidden" the photo with Cam.

Anita, I haven't watched A&E in years. Considering what they now show they are no longer worthy of what those letters once stood for.

I hunger for the "Crowns and Gowns" productions that the BBC used to do when I was in college...

Anita, it doesn't bother me when villains lie. It's expected. :) Dan is a complicated character and I like that. He has flaws and is still likable. Without that, this whole TN wouldn't be as nearly as interesting. The same goes for Camila. She has flaws, too, and one of them happens to be poor judgment in picking men(IMHO), but of course I still want her to end up with Dan.

cathyx & Vivi: I've been wrong (with a capital R) before and perhaps it's just wishful thinking on my part. Your version of Nati's attitude makes more sense, but I thought I saw something in the acting. You're right that for her to do a complete 180° with that fabu boda around the corner is a bit of a leap. But, still, it's what I thought I saw. And if she did turn, she would be a powerful asset to the Team Scooby. Boy does Cesar Evora do demonic like a champ.

Hey Anon at 12:22. I made my comments without reading any of today's. I'm with you on MM's looks. Now back to finishing reading the comments. All great, BTW.

Aleta- "hidden". Haha. For someone who managed to hide his identity for months, both digitally and live, he sure wasn't good about hiding that pendant. He probably hid the photo in a frame. And then hid the frame on a wall.

Kelly

Having said that, however, I think we are going to see a display of lying from Dan tonight that will light up the sky like fireworks. And I'll be laughing at him, poor guy. At some point, Miriam IS going to figure things out, and I'm starting to think that Danny Boy deserves to twist in the wind for a while, thinking that he's lost both Miriam and Camila.

And then we'll all be ready for the happy ending. :)

Carolina--Serves me right for not reading all the way down before commenting. Thank you for the info on prisons/jails and the links.

Anita, not sure if you know how old Cristian de la Fuente is, but I was shocked to learn that he's 38. When this TN began, I thought he was about 28 and Camila about 35. So I felt they were a bit mismatched. Now that I've seen this TN for a few months, I don't think that anymore.

Marta--From the writers' script to Miriam's mouth to Daniel's ears to Camila's heart. We know the part from MM mouth to Dan's ears will take exactly 17 hours.

cathyx--SN & CDlF were well matched looks-wise and age-wise. I'm in a way different age group, so 38 is still exceedingly young to me.

Kelly--Where Dan hid the picture was the biggest LOL Guffaw I had today. Good one!

"I think we are going to see a display of lying from Dan tonight that will light up the sky like fireworks." Carolina, I can't wait. He will squirm worse than he has already, and probably be freaking out at the possibility of that artery exploding.

It's weird, but Sylvia Navarro has very prominent veins in her forehead and there are scenes when Camila is supposed to be stressed out where they bulge even more than usual. Of course, these are superficial facial veins, NOT anything like an artery inside the brain, but it does make her appear vulnerable (to me, at least) Miriam appears sturdy as a horse and I bet we'll see fireworks from her tonight, as well.

Anita: I wondered from the beginning if the actress who plays Caridad was the budgekin’s real mother mostly because she was only in scenes with the baby. Then I saw her in a couple of scenes without, so not sure now.

I loved The Killing. It ended up being two seasons—though I think it was originally supposed to be one.

UA: Totally agree with you re: A&E. Used to be you could count on 100% PBS/BBC/Masterpiece, etc quality programming on that station.

Kelly re: Dan’s hiding ability. Laugh out loud moment.

Kelly- LOL! Thanks for the late day laugh.

Maybe Dan had the pendant under that blanket he brought Gussy and that's why it was out in the open. Or maybe, as many have suggested, he subconsciously wants to get caught...

"Or maybe, as many have suggested, he subconsciously wants to get caught..." Vivi, I agree with this. The poor guy really wants to force the issue, but can't own up to it. He's falling all over himself to "do the right thing" and he just digs himself in deeper. I cannot wait til tonight's episodio.

Tks all for the recap & comments, missed all but the last 15 min.

For some reason, I thought that Teresa looked especially gorgeous. What happened, I always thought her pretty, but even more so now.
Took a while to find her name, Sandra Kai, but not much else. That will probably change.I think people will want to know more about her. Someone said she is Mex & Asian, interesting looks.

Anita - 'We know the part from MM mouth to Dan's ears will take exactly 17 hours.' LOL, although I don't know if I can take 17 hours of this:)

I too loved "The Killing," but like you was disappointed in the ending. I liked the story line and the character development.

I just had a bad thought. What's the point of all this talk of Camila's about getting away from everything and going on a long vacation with her mother? I predict a second kidnapping for Camila, in which Dionisio spirits her away (and who knows what happens to Agustina) while everyone assumes that she's left on that trip of indefinite length.

UtahDesert- The thought had crossed my mind at one point when Camila mentioned going away the other day. But she is so good about texting and calling people, that surely they'd notice if she went away and didn't inform anyone or keep anyone updated. Then again, Dio could always do what he did the other episode with Gussy's phone and pretend to be Cami sending update messages to her peeps.

You ladies better bite your tongue now. I don't even want this show to end that way. Besides, she was going to go on the trip with her mother and her mother is in jail, fortunately, hahaha.

Vivi: re "OK. I'm going to trust you guys that Nat saw through all of Dio's bs".

Although I always enjoy your comments and your input, and II must admit that it' was great to see that you could trust someone else opinion.

.

Thanks Anon 6:02. I think if you read any of my comment you'll find rigidity is no my style. I usually like to look at situations from lots of points of views.

I think the comment thread for this Telenovela has gotten quite a negative feel to it. I have never seen the comments quite like they have been on this one. It seems to have started about a couple of months after it started. It's gotten to be a bit unpleasant to read them, and I've definitely learned to skip certain ones. But if this is going to be the new way the comments are going to made, I may just read the recaps and not read the comments.

Cathyx- I really hope the crankiness of 1-3 people doesn't keep you away from commenting on this great blog and the rest of this tn. It wouldn't be the same without your voice!

I'll see how it continues. This TN is almost done, I'm definitely staying until the end, I just hope that it doesn't carry on to the next one. But it isn't just the anonymous comments, it's judgement comments that make someone who doesn't think the same way feel as a lesser human for not thinking the same way.

Ah, Cathyx, I've occasionally refrained from commenting b/c someone's comments irritated me to the point that I realized that my tone would be less than collegial. But I'm sure that I, and some other someones, have gone ahead and "posted in anger." I hope I have not contributed overmuch to the negative vibe you are feeling.

On the whole, I've been amazed at the civil tone here. To have this kind of polite multilog without a closed membership and active moderator with the power to bar bad actors (and the need to exercise that power daily) is very rare.

For one used to the rough and tumble of the typical internet discourse, fueled by anonymity, a need to develop a very thick skin, and the temptation to reply in kind, old habits can be hard to break.

But even when the words are polite, I think that there can be some tension arising from a move from "I don't like x about character y" to (a possibly implied) "if you don't agree that characteristic x is reprehensible or if you can't see how wrong/bad/mean/nasty character y really is, well then there must be something wrong with you, too."

That is a hazard that can crop up whenever someone expresses a firm opinion about anything. These are melodramas, and the characters are often, even in this excellent telenovela, something of charactatures, and thus invite strong opinions. Because the AB characters are more finely drawn than most, however, once we move beyond Dio, Isa, and Leo, it is not always so obvious that a criticism of one of the characters wouldn't translate to a criticism applicable to the real world.

So, while I have noticed that, at times, there can be an edge to the conversation, I hope that those occasions won't overwhelm the otherwise remarkable positivity that I think predominates here.

For my part, I'll continue to try to be, mostly, a cranky lurker, muttering to myself, and avoid poisoning the public well with excess negativity.
Chris in FL

i am new to this, but i wouldlike to comment on the child actor who plays Roman. Why do most child actors in TNs have to schreech their lines. He is guilty of this and so are others. it is definitely very annoying. are they not given any training or direction
