Amor Bravío #154 (Uni 149) Tue 3/26/13 Gussie’s in cuffs, Hissie’s in a huff, and Nati’s heard ‘nuff!

Natalia has just had her blood test done and encourages a fraidy cat Yago to go get his.  He’s left behind his cell phone and kazam! She goes straight for it.  She sees Dionicio’s message to Yago setting up that appt w/Yago saying they’re gonna sign a contract – he’d better be there or else.  Yago returns and she quickly puts aside the phone.  Yago complains he was likely to faint from having his blood drawn.  The nurse tells Nati the results will be sent by email by tomorrow.  (eek!  What if Yago has an STD?).  Nati tries unsuccessfully to get him to come furniture shopping with her.  He explains he has an appt with a very important breeder.

La Delegación
Our Lady in Lavendar is in tears.  She can’t believe Sherlock Juarez is sending her to the big house – she’s innocent.  He regrets to admit that all the evidence points to her.  He leaves her with Ozzie.  Gussie is sure she’ll never be free again.  He tries to comfort her, saying they’ll continue fighting for her even after she’s transferred.  The trial is still pending. He understands her fear and asks her not to give up hope.  Gussie feels this is her punishment for being so stupid and gullible.  She admits she’s made so many mistakes, if they end up convicting her it won’t be for the fraud so much as for her stupidity.  She was never a good mother, friend, or Christian.  Ozzie tells her not to be so hard on herself.   He’s sure once she gets out of this she won’t make the same mistakes.  She tearfully accepts this then says what a good man Ozzie is.  Any other man would have turned his back on her.  She realizes Ozzie’s the one she should have chosen.  Ozzie reminds her she was never in love with him and one can’t force such things.  He knows she’s a good woman and he’ll always be there to help her.  Agustina feels fortunate to call him her friend.  Ozzie swears he’ll always be there for her and Camila.

Camila, Teresa, and Daniel (looking oh so yummy in shades and no draping sweater – yay!) meet outside.  Teresa’s about to leave and urges Camila to calm down before she goes back inside with Agustina.  She’s going to try to delay Agustina’s transfer to the prison.  She leaves and Camila again wonders about the injustice of it all.  Daniel promises her again that Dionicio will pay for every evil thing he’s done.  Camila is upset, feeling that the only bad thing Agustina did was love Dionicio.  She ends up in Daniel’s arms and he comforts her, as it should be.  (but won’t someone see them?)

Dept of Social Services  (PSA)
Rafa and Vivi meet with the Social Worker regarding the adoption of Roman Lopez.  She informs them that before they can adopt him, it must be verified that he is indeed an orphan.  Duh, whaa?  Rafa protests Roman escaped from an abusive guardian.  The irresistible force of TN meets the immovable object of reality.  So far, they only have Roman’s version that his father abandoned the family and his mother died.  They need to confirm he has no living family members who may want him.  Vivi can’t believe he’d want to live on the streets by choice.  Social Worker explains it may not be by choice but by necessity.  Some children escape abusive parents while others escape their abductors.  They must locate the woman that was left in charge of Roman.  Was she legally his guardian?  If so, she’ll need to give up all parental rights in order for Roman to be adopted.  Perhaps the woman isn’t interested in Roman since she hasn’t bothered to look for him even though she may have been given legal guardianship.  It’s still very possible Vivi and Rafa can adopt him but they must follow the process.

Orphanage and another PSA
Aaron is speaking to Anselmo and Roman about his return to Chiapas.  He promises to visit often and invites them to visit him in Chiapas.  Tolentino and Irene arrive. Tol announces he has registered for online University classes.  The state of Mexico has excellent online classes available through the Internet.  Tolentino chimes in that the government has made it possible for him to attend class while working.  Super Padre!  Irene has also registered for classes (she explains what she’s signed up for but I couldn’t make out what)  Anselmo is so proud and congratulates him.  He points out this was a better path than becoming a priest without a true vocation.  Tolentino explains that was then, when he was nursing a broken heart.  Now, he wants to find himself a little novia – he looks at Irene – that wants study the same thing he does and later maybe marriage.   Roman says he wants a novia too and Irene tells him to stick to studying (yeah, acting 101) .  He also wants to find parents who will love him.  Padre tells him this is possible.

Miriam/Daniel Home
Mariano and Ana come by to visit Miriam.  She explains Agatha is out running around with Daddy and invites Ana to stick around.   Ana has brought gifts.  A silver bracelet is for Miriam, representing the artisans of Mexico. A little folklorico doll is for Agatha.  Ana also brought photo albums so they can exchange photos.  The first picture will be taken today!  Miriam stands next to Mariano and strikes a Prom pose so as to show off the bracelet.  (gag me)

La Delegación
They’re preparing for Agustina to be transferred.  Ozzie says everthing is ready and Cam will be able to see her before she leaves.  She asks if the documents signing over LMQ to her have been drawn up and Ozzie indicates he has them.  She immediately pulls out her phone to call Dionicio.  Daniel assumes he won’t answer since he’s hiding out now.  She calls him anyway and leaves him a stern voicemail:  “I must speak to you.  You’ve got what you wanted.  Call me.”  She hangs up and looks at Dan and Ozzie – What’s the point in playing around?  It’s obvious that as soon as she leaves here, she’ll head straight over to see Dionicio.   Daniel offers to go with her but she adamantly refuses.  Daniel insists, saying Dionicio is a dangerous man.  Ozzie also thinks Daniel should accompany her.  She thanks Daniel but doesn’t give in.

Dionicio’s Lair
Dion plays Cam’s VM (I’m thinking he’s played it over and over).  He smiles with wicked satisfaction as we hear her message.  He lets out a huge sigh and half the plants in the room die (jk). “With your mother in jail, everything will be so much easier.  At last I have you in my hands.  Por fin!”

Amanda’s Hostal
Natalia returns home to find Luzma watching over Agatha.  Luzma has come to speak to Nati.  She informs her that Gussie is on her way to the Big House.  Nati’s the only who can help them prove that Gussie fell into Dionicio’s trap.  Nati explains Dionicio promised to hire an attorney for Agustina so how can they say he was the brains behind the fraud?  Dionicio can’t be blamed if Camila refused that attorney’s help.  Luzma now tells her how Dionicio threatened Piedad by promising to hurt Luzma if Piedad repeated that she heard him admitting his part in releasing the virus on the bulls.  Nati appears to believe this.

La Delegación
Teresa gets Camila in to visit with her mother.  They’re able to hug without having the bars between them.  Cam tells her again not to worry.  She’ll do everything in her power to get her out.  Agustina knows she’ll do what she can but thinks it’s really out of her hands.  Agustina tearfully says she doesn’t want to be a burden (carga).  Cami explains all she’ll need to do is demonstrate that Dionicio is the one to blame for everything that’s happened to them since he imposed himself on their lives.  She knows it’ll be soon and asks Agustina not to lose faith.  Agustina doesn’t want Camila to fall into any of Dionicio’s traps.  She wants Cami to help her get a divorce – she doesn’t want any more ties to him.  She wants to forget she was ever his mujer and that she loved him.  She knows she can’t go back (and change things) but she wants to maintain what little dignity she still has.  She cries as she caresses Camila, saying she’s her greatest treasure.  “Te Amo!”  Camila also swears her love to Agustina and they embrace.

Amanda’s Hostal
Nati thinks her only recourse now is to confront Dionicio.  She can’t stay silent about this.  Luzma reminds her this hasn’t worked in the past.  He’ll only come up with another story.   What they need from Luzma now is to help them with their plan to get some proof.   Nati flashes back to Dion’s text to Yago about their meeting.  She seems to have an “aha” moment and tells Luzma she doesn’t want to discuss their plan until tonight.  She’s going to confirm something that will cause her to make a decision that can affect the rest of her life—whether or not Yago truly loves her.  She asks Luzma not to ask any questions and asks only that she keep their secret for now and not repeat it to anyone.  She asks Luzma to just wait until this afternoon.

La Malquerida
Mariano calls Teresa wondering what happened with Agustina.  He hasn’t been able to get a hold of Camila.  Teresa gets a little miffed this is the only reason he’s calling her but remains cool.  She explains about Agustina’s situation and that Camila is there.  Mariano is surprised to hear this and can’t wait to hussle on over there.

In the kitchen, Pablo is attempting to serve himself some coffee.  Piedad helps him out and takes this chance to say how sad she is about what’s happening between him and Luzma.  Pablo says he’s sad because he loves Luzma more than anything.  Piedad knows Luzma feels the same for him and that’s why she chose the separation.  He says he’ll wait as long as it takes but Piedad wonders what will happen if Luzma is unable to overcome the trauma.  She doesn’t understand God’s will sometimes but if she had ever been asked who would be the chosen prince for her daughter, she would have chosen Pablo.  He’s a good man and she loves him as she would a son.  He was able to love her daughter like no other.  Because of this, he’s won her over for life.

La Delegación
Agustina and Camila are sitting and humming to each other.  The guards come to take her away.  Camila protests the use of handcuffs.  Camila urges her to be strong.  She follows as they lead Gussie away,  crying.  WAAAAAH  L

Buenaventura
Hissadora leads the attorney to Cayetano’s  den.  Cayetano has no idea why he’s here.  Hissadora snickers, “What do you mean, mi amor?  Don’t you remember you asked him to make some changes to the deeds of Buenaventura?”  Cayetano’s all…..”duh, wha?  This ranch?”  The attorney affirms this and reminds him he came by a few days ago when Cayetano asked him to eliminate Hissadora’s temporary  ownership and change it to a permanent one.  Cayetano still doesn’t recall.  Hissadora explains he had promised it as a wedding gift – and she’s ever so grateful.  She asks the attorney to proceed.  He starts producing documents for Cayetano to review so he can then present them to a Notario and get the ball rolling.  Cayetano gives the documents a once over while Hissadora rushes him along saying everything seems to be in order.  She hands them back to the attorney and tells him to go ahead and speak with el Notario so they can sign them ASAP – today, if possible.  The attorney is ready to leave.  “Not so fast,” says Cayetano.  (He’s back from his fog!!!!)  He’s changed his mind.  He has other plans for this ranch.  Hissadora comes unglued!  “What are you saying, Cayetano!  You can’t do this to me!”  Cayetanalerto: “Of course I can and I aim to do so.”  Hissadora’s so angry , she’s likely to shed some scales right then and there!

La Delegación
Camila has followed her mother outside and continues to say she’ll do what she can to set her free.  She’ll prove Agustina’s a victim, etc. etc.   Daniel repeats the same.  Omar is standing by, witnessing this and ready to report back to Dionicio.  As she reaches the patrol car, Agustina asks Daniel to watch over Camila.  The car finally speeds off as Camila cries and turns away.

Buenaventura
Hissadora is in full Kimodo Freakout Mode.  Cayetano asks the attorney to allow them some privacy.  After he leaves, she assumes Cayetano’s change of heart was because he thought she had been unfaithful.  She actually shouts at him, saying he should at least admit it, and calls him paranoid.  “You think the whole world is out to deceive you, everyone is out to get you but you’re wrong.  I’m with you because I love you!”  Cayetano assures her he loves her too, “But really, I don’t know what got into me.  What was I thinking by asking to have Buenaventure put in your name?  It was an estupidez!  I can’t abandon my sons.  I have to protect everyone, not just you, Hissadora!”  Oh, she’s seething now – dagger eyes!

Dionicio’s Lair
Dionicio calls Camila, looking quite like the Cheshire Cat.  He opens the conversation by assuming that Agustina is being transported to the Big House at this very moment.  Camila gives in, asking him if he wants LMQ.  Well, he can have it but she wants her mother free and her record expunged.  Dionicio, looking more like Jabba  now than Cheshire, accepts but he wants more than LMQ!  He wants to negotiate “something else” with her.  She demands to know what else but he’s not about to let everything out of the bag at that moment.  Instead he suggests her mother will be freed when he and Camila have reached an agreement.  He proposes a sit-down for this evening and to show his good faith, lets her choose the place.  She offers 9:00 tonight at LMQ and he agrees but he wants to meet with her…..alone.  They hang up and he speaks to the phone: “Our moment has finally arrived, Camila!”  Then he blows a kiss to the phone and laughs.  BWA-HA-HA!  (EEEEEEWWWWWW from Viewerville)

Back at La Delegación
Daniel wants to know what Dionicio’s demands are, besides LMQ. He’s sure the “something else” is Camila.  He knows Dionicio has wanted her to be his “mujer” for some time now.  Mariano arrives, asking if Camila is ok, he just found out about Agustina.  Camila leans her head on his shoulder as Daniel continues trying to make her understand that Dionicio has been obsessed with LMQ and Camila all along.  Ozzie agrees and warns Cam not to give in. Daniel assures him she won’t because he plans to be there at the sit-down.  He won’t allow her to meet with him alone.  Cam, of course, refuses.  She had agreed to allow Daniel find Dionicio, that’s all.  Daniel insists again he won’t let her meet with Dionicio.  Camila doesn’t believe anything will happen to her because Dionicio agreed to meet on her turf.  Now Mariano offers to come along.  Again, she refuses and insists she will meet alone with him to find out what is he wants and then they can make a decision.

 Buenaventura
Hissadora complains Cayetano humilitated her and he’s reneged on his promise.  He apologizes and says only tonto or drugged (bingo on both counts!) would he have excluded his sons from what is rightfully theirs.  He announces the ranch will be divided four ways, Hissadora, and the rest among his three sons.  She’s appalled he would include Pablo despited being the product of sin between Rocio and Don Daniel.  Cayetano firmly confirms this because he loves Pablo as though he were his son.  She has no idea how much he misses him.  Pablo is not to blame for his parents’ sins.  She’s deeply saddened to see how he would go back on his promise so soon after their marriage.  She swears she hasn’t been unfaithful.  She can only hope he reconsiders his new attitude and decisions.  Frankly, she’s very, very offended!  He doesn’t see why she should be offended.  He gives her his word this has nothing to do with her fidelity, or lack thereof.  He simply can’t deny his sons his fortune and properties.  Besides, he’s not abandoning her.  She will lack nothing while he’s alive or when he dies.  (ruh-roh, careful there old man) She’ll always live like a queen.  She sarcastically says, “Sure, I’ll live off your crumbs!  (migajas)”  He tells her not to be so dramatic, please!  She’ll live like she’d never dreamed she would.  Besides,  hadn’t she told him she wasn’t interested in money, right?  “No!” she responds, “Of course not.  What I loved most about you was the protection you offered.  But this new attitude, well I don’t know what to think!”  He tells her to consider that what he’s doing is the act of a sensible man.  She angrily shrugs away from him when he approaches her.  He continues, saying that as a protector he must think of everyone and do the right thing.  He asks her to respect his decision and chill.  Oh, she’s chillin’ alright.  She leaves the room.

La Delegación
Mariano continues to offer his support and asks Camila to calm down.  He offers to take her home.  She can’t cuz she wants to meet Natalia at La Hostal and besides, her car is there and Luzma is waiting for her there.  Daniel explains Nati is a major factor in unmasking Dionicio.  Camila swears again she’ll bring Dionicio down for the rest of his life.  She’ll do everything she can to avoid handing over LMQ and swears she will DESTROY HIM!  She warned him she didn’t want to see her mother in jail, and yet that’s where she ended up.  Mariano reminds her Agustina still hasn’t been sentenced and there’s still time to get her released.  Ozzie chimes in this is no reason for Camila to give in to Dionicio’s demands.  Mariano understands but wants to make sure cooler heads prevail.  He doesn’t wish for Camila to act out of hatred.  Oooh, she gives him a mean look and asks if he has any idea how she felt seeing her mother get into a police car!  She was handcuffed!   Mariano backs off and Daniel can only stand there.

La Hostal
Luzma’s still caring for Agatha.  Nati’s on her way out, and Amanda reminds her everyone wants to meet with her.  Nati insists she needs to take care of something and she’ll be back later.

Buenaventura
Hissadora is back in her room….seething.  She realizes the gotas don’t seem to be having the same affect as before.  She can’t allow everything to be ruined just as she was about to reach her goal.  She wonders if his body may have become accustomed to the drug but she can’t allow him to be lucid.  She’ll have to produce a more potent solution.  She needs him addled at least until after Nati’s and Yago’s wedding.  Once they’re alone, she’ll give him the final blow.  Only after he’s put everything in her name.

In Town
Dante’s been told Alonso’s recording wasn’t able to be cleaned.  The Tech Guy explains it was really damaged and suggests they send it to D.F. and doesn’t know how long it will be.  Dante urges him to send it and to expedite it no  matter the cost.

El Hostal
Amanda and Luzma are cooing over Agatha.  Ozzie, Cami and company come in and explain they were unable to keep Agustina from being transported to the Big House.  Cami needs help from Nati and Doña Chonita to unmask Dionicio.  Amanda explains Nati left without explaining where she was going.  Doña Chonita left town without word as to when she’ll return.

La Malquerida

Bulls Running!  Woohoo!              SALUD!

Eleuterio and Rodolfo*sigh* explain to Hipolito that these new bulls come from the same bloodlines as the ones lost to the virus.  They can only hope this helps to bring LMQ back to where it once was.  Piedad thinks this justifies a fiesta.  They all cheer at the thought.  Eleuterio and Dorotea pair up as do Piedad and Hipolito.  My Rodolfo can only look on, wistfully.  *sigh*

El Hostal
Mariano again suggests they return to LMQ so she can rest.  Amanda offers dinner but Camila has to pass because she’s agreed to meet Dionicio.  She knows he’s dangerous but they’re prepared and are taking precautions.  She’s trying to put on a brave face but Viewerville knows she’s worried.  Ozzie insists again she shouldn’t meet with him alone.  He suggests maybe he and Teresa can be in the next room should she need help.  She refuses.  Mariano suggests she call him on his cell and he can come straight over should the need arise.  She agrees to this.  Teresa counsels her not to agree to anything until she’s had a chance to confer with everyone.  Amanda agrees to wait up for them in order to meet with Nati later.  Camila and Mariano leave.  Teresa approaches Daniel, who’s holding a sleeping Agatha, and empathizes with him, knowing how he must be feeling to see Mariano and  Camila leave together.

Outside, Mariano calls Ana to say he’s coming for her now.  She and the fair Maid Miriam are busy making cookies.  Miriam insists he leave Ana with her until Daniel gets back with Agatha and allow her to have dinner there.  He agrees.  Camila seems surprised to learn Ana is chummy with Miriam.  (a little jealous, perhaps?)

Nati’s New House
Nati sees Omar when she arrives and explains she’s there to meet with Daddykins and Yago.  Omar explains they’ve just arrived and doesn’t think twice about letting her pass on through.  Inside, Dionicio is presenting Yago with the “contract” protecting his daughter.  If Dionicio or she should ever decide a divorce is in order, Yago should understand he will walk away with absolutely nothing that Dionicio’s given them.  (BAM!  Nati is listening just outside the door!)  Dionicio is heard saying Yago can’t even take the personal gifts he’s given him.  In addition, Yago will provide for Nati and their child with 50% of his earnings…….por vida!  Yago is open-mouthed impactado!  “Eh, do you think it’s really necessary to sign this?” he stupidly asks.  He doesn’t understand why Dionicio is trying to protect Nati.  He’s done everything asked of him, including faking his love for her.  (Now, it’s Nati’s turn to be open-mouthed impactada)  Dionicio applauds him for his excellent work thus far but they both know anything can happen in the future.  He doesn’t trust Yago, or anyone for that matter.  Yago wonders how Dionicio could possibly thing he’d back off after his henchmen threatened to kill him.  He’s no dummy.  He values his life and that’s why he’s here.  Dionicio’s glad to see they’re in agreement. He always thought he was intelligent.  And precisely because of that, he knows Yago will sign the contract.  Nati is crying and looks as though she’s about to be ill.  Poor baby.  Truth hurts.

Avances
Natie calls Cam and says she’ll help unmask El Diablo.  She turns and sees him watching her!  EEK!

Comments:
Nati got an earful! This is going to be really hard for her but I'm glad it's before they got married. She got a double whammy, learning her Principe Azul is nothing but a Patan and her Daddy Dearest is as bad as she had feared. She'll have to face the truth, poor darlin' Will Rodolfo take her back? hmmmmm

Vivi -- are you taking volunteers for Que Bonito Amor yet?

Paquita- Brilliant title, and amazing recap. There was so much stuff happening! I’m not planning to be on the QBA crew, and am skeptical about Mejia’s skill, but I’ll watch. I did notice that Don Vicente will be singing that theme song too. That’s a nice bit of continuity from AB.

I loved Cayetano this episode, and the way he laid out the facts for Isa. LOL! She was totally thrown off guard. Did not like to hear her plan to give him a more potent version of the stuff (she thinks) she’s been giving him though. Someone please save Caye before she gets her poison into him.

My heart was breaking for Camila and Gussy. That was such a sad scene as the camera came upon them huddled together and humming. How exactly is Dan going to keep his promise to Gussy to take care of Camila when he’s leaving for Chile in a few days, hmmmm?

I hope Camila calms down before “9pm” when she meets with Dion, although I wouldn’t mind her slapping him again and getting some good scratches in with no one there to hold her back.

I didn’t think Agatha could get any cuter, but she did this episode, as she slept peacefully through much of the scenes, or was nestled peacefully in Dan’s arms, or played happily with her feet as Luzma pushed her pram back and forth.

Paquita- I think you ought to go and comfort Rodolfo to help him get over being the only one without a girlfriend. :)

Good work, Paquita.

I understand Camila's need to be able to handle this herself; I'm the same way like that. However, she has refused all this time to face the fact that El Diablo is a perv who wants her in ways that would probably drive her to suicide (which may be what he intends when he's tired of her).

Obviously this ups the drama waiting for the audience, but the whole "What more do you want?" would not be a necessary question without that answer. She should be very suspicious of why he isn't answering it at this point.

BTW, an interesting coincidence happened this week: Yesterday morning on AMF was the scene where Federico attempted to rape Maria del Carmen after having deceived her into thinking he was her father. That's as perverse as it gets.

Paquita,

What a wonderful recap of a very busy episode. I think that your statement, "the irresistable force of TNs meets the immovable object of reality" is such a gem for so many situations in our favorite art form! The adoption will prevail, no doubt, but not without some snags as PSAs abound in these last episodes.

Loved your statement about Isa shedding scales. I loved the scenes between her and Cayetano last night. They must have been fun for these actors to play. He's awake and the man for the moment.

I llike the way that everyone at Amanda's welcoming hostal was caring for the beautiful little Agatha. This is a prelude for what Daniel-Miriam-Mariano-Camila, could have as an extended, blended family in Mexico. Too good to be true?

So interesting, that flash of jealousy, maybe, from Camila about Miriam and Ana spending time together, not unlike Daniel's annoyance yesterday as Miriam talked about SAnto Mariano. What a complex quartet! Another mark of thoughtful characterizations in this novela.

Thank you Paquita. You got off to a great start with that hilariously apt & summarizing title. A beautifully written recap of a very dramatic episode. Your sweet galan, Rodo, was looking extra sweet last evening as he glanced wistfully at the other two cooing couples.

I never thought I'd warm up to that old Caye, but very glad to see him "tan alerto" de nuevo. Was Hissssa thinking of obtaining a new drug or just doubling up on the gotas she already got?

As for the tramites de adopción, I don't think there's time left for us to wade through a subplot where Roman is sent to back to an awful home with an evil, grasping, abusive parent, only to be rescued by child services and awarded to the care of Viv'n'Raf. If it were early in the story I might think this a possibility, but the social worker scene last night was probably a red herring disguised as a PSA. We can only hope; I don't want to see any histrionics from that unfortunately loud child. (OMG, now I'm really feeling sorry for him. )

Camila, what's your problem? She's in such a tizzy she can't think straight. All the warnings from her mom about being duped by the don, and all the support & advice from her gang of loyal friends may come to naught once she steps into the devil's den. Even though the meeting is on her turf, that turf won't be hers for long. And she stands to lose more than she imagines. I hope the Scoobies have a backup plan that consists of more than just "call us if there's a problem, we'll be right over"

Can't wait for tonight.—Agnes

For some reason, watching last night's episode on-line, I missed the scene with Ana, Miriam and Mariano together at the house. Paquito's summary sent me to the DVR and voila -- M and M may lack a song but they have a photo! How can this go in any other direction than these two getting together?
The writers have made this entirely convincing given Miriam's and Mariano's rather formal but kind interaction with each other, focus on their children, and Ana's very tender relationship with Miriam.

How interesting, by the way, that our duped and sometimes-ditzy duo, Natalia and Augustina, should be willing to take their chances in Dio's lair to help the Scoobies. I'm just guessing this with respect to Natalia, from the previews. There's a message here about innocence and courage (subtle PSA).

Like you, Agnes, can't wait until tonight. What an exciting countdown to the end.

Tks Paquita,
Why is Aggie going to prison, no trial, no conviction, no bail?????
She hasn't murdered anyone. Oh yeah, TN justice, pobre Aggie.

Even with a few of the usual TN cliches this is the best TN of this type I have seen & will be used to judge all the rest, "Que bonito amor" probably will be a big fat zero & closer to the worst TN FELS.

I put the historical TN's & comedies in different categories. Por Ella the best comedy & Amor Real the best historical.

Really going to miss this one but I will be free after 9PM.

Is Isa going back to the bruja for stronger drops?

Great recap, Paquita. I loved the title and everything that followed. I especially liked "He lets out a huge sigh and half the plants in the room die" and "Hissadora’s so angry , she’s likely to shed some scales right then and there!" Yes, as you say, she's certainly in "full Kimodo Freakout Mode."

Agnes, I too definitely hope that the Scoobies come up with a plan more more effective than "phone me if you need help." My hope is that Daniel is just as stubborn as Camila, so that while Camila won't agree to any help, he'll just go ahead with some way to protect her.

The avances with Dio seeing (and hearing?) Natalia's phone call are definitely worrisome. But how many rebelious women can he deal with at once?

Paquita, one more thing. I think Irene said that she was studying informática.

Cowardice is considered shameful in many cultures and anyone who has felt it often devalues themselves over it. Augustina undoubtedly feels she is less than Camila for her own cowardice and Natalia might regard her denial about Iagho in the same light.

Getting one's self-esteem back after a horrible setback isn't easy and sometimes requires drastic measures.

I also hope that Natalia doesn't marry Iagho after this revelation. He wasn't shown picking up a hooker for no reason.

Variopinta, I agree that Amor Bravío is a superb telenovela, but for me the absolute best was La Reina del Sur, on Telemundo. I think that may be because in some ways it really wasn't a telenovela, even though it was on for an hour a day five days a week for three months. But it was so amazingly well acted and well thought out that it felt more like an excellent film that somehow wandered into Telenovela-land.

TL: you referred to "Miriam's and Mariano's rather formal but kind interaction with each other, focus on their children, and Ana's very tender relationship with Miriam." I think this is an important point. For a long time I was finding it unbelievable that a couple of couples could just shift 90° and switch partners, but the way you phrase this, it seems quite natural. I also think that Miriam's obsessive cookie making is just a way for her to grasp some comfort (and a degree of control) in this alien and hostile territory by doing a simple and familiar domestic activity. And Ana, buffeted by loss and change at a vulnerable time in her life, is happily going along for the ride. Could be a happy ending here.

Vario: I don't know if she's going back for a new (stronger) to the bruja's dispensary, or if she said she was just going to double the dose. Clearly, she doesn't yet suspect that the drops were switched out for water.

Remember also that the stuff used by Carlota in ENDA distilled into something dark which somehow was undetected in the wine. I think that was belladonna.

Here is hoping that Pablo gets the lab report before Hissadora has a chance to distill any more venom.

Good point about Miriam. She needs to feel some sense of control in her life right now and that will lead her to Mariano. She would be the perfect wife for him.

Thank you Paquita, another wonderful job.

Lots to discuss. So when Roman was first discovered and brought to the orphanage, I kept asking why doesn't anyone look into his background? Why would anyone just accept the word of a child that his parents are dead and he is by himself? So they wait until someone wants to adopt him to finally look into this. How idiotic is this system?

My heart was breaking too over Aggie. I actually got choked up during that scene.

So Isa is going to give Caye more water drops in the hopes that it makes him addled again. You go girl. hahaha.

I hope Dan doesn't listen to Camila and goes to MQ and stays in the background. There is no reason to think that Dion will not do or say something awful where another person needs to intervene.

I hope Nat will be on her A-game when Dion comes after her when she overheard the conversation. By the way, I thought they were at Dion's home in town for the meeting, but that was a lot of land she walked over to go inside.

I don't see how Dion will be able to stop the ball rolling down the hill as far as Aggie's fraud is concerned. What could he do to stop the charges from following through?

Paquita – Thanks. Some of my favorites:

“He lets out a huge sigh and half the plants in the room die (jk).”

“Hissadora’s so angry, she’s likely to shed some scales right then and there!”

“Dionicio, looking more like Jabba now than Cheshire,…”

ITA on Cayetano getting his brain back. Fun to see Isadora come unglued. Loved hearing him say that his feelings for Pablo haven't changed.

Dan’s the most aware of how evil and low Dio is. Camila thinks she’s going in alone, but my guess is Dan will be there somehow.

I wonder if Gussie will run into Alonso's mom in the Big House.

Daniel won't leave Camila alone to handle this; he will be nearby. That's his pattern of behavior and he would never allow Camila to fall into the devil's hands.

I'd like to see Rosario get out of prison; she doesn't deserve to be there.

Thanks for the recall. I am watching the online version, so I don't understand the language totally (Not that I ever do, but the captions I have at home help.) and don't have the previews for the next day. Sounds like I need to squeeze the next video in on a busy day today.

Traveling Lady- Oh, but M&M DO have a song, that we’ve heard a few times now: Querido Corazón by Juan Solo. A pretty love song—almost a guarantee that these two will end up being a couple.

Juanita- I put narco-novelas in a whole different category (like comedies and period/historical tns). I only saw bits of La Reina del Sur, but read the recaps. From the looks of it, La Reina was definitely one of the best, if not the best, in that genre!

Cathyx- Dion asked Yago to meet him at the house he gave to Natalia. Nice house, no? The exterior is the same house they used in CME when Roberta fell and hit her head and everyone found out she was preggers.

If Mariano and Miriam are going to be a couple, then I wish they would have some of those moments where they accidentally touch and the look at each other in that meaningful way that tells us that they have sparks and chemistry going on. But they haven't had any so it's hard for me to imagine that they will end up together.

By the way, a couple of commenters linked them together long before Miriam was back in the picture, so that tells me they knew that this was coming down the pike. There is no other explanation. This was not a foreseeable pairing.

The fact that the actress has been in the title footage all along was enough to tell us that we should have expected to see her again. Also, those of us who are experienced viewers (20 years for me this fall) know that unless we see someone die or a doctor come out of an operating room with a grim expression and a "Lo siento..." we can't believe that someone is dead.

I think we're meant to see M/M as a couple whose attraction isn't dependent on the limerence that typically brings couples together in novelas; this is a mature romance in the making.

Reminder to any newbies: This is a spoiler-free zone!

Cathyx, I think Miriam and Mariano have had some "meaningful" moments. One of the first signs for me was when their eyes sparkled as they looked at each other. It wasn't as dramatic as when Camila and Dan accidentally had their hands touch very early on, but it seemed pretty clear that they were really liking each other.

Juanita- I agree that Mir and Mar have definitely had some moments. They've had the staring into each other's eyes/eyes sparkling thing at least twice-- and Luzma noticed one of those times. And last episode when Mar got the tinglies when Mir touched his hand. He'll probably realize that his feelings go beyond just "friendly" before she does, because her head just isn't in the space to think about another man right now. I think once she realizes that Dan is no longer hers, she'll be able to open a space in her heart for someone else.

Although many in Viewerville find Miriam self-centered, she has enough self-worth (maturity) to let a man go if he doesn't love her back. She knows that she deserves better than that.

Teresa, in contrast, can't take no for an answer and is practically stalking Mariano.

I hope Natalia develops some self-esteem before this is over!

What a fabulous recap, Paquita! Your rhyming title is brilliant.

My faves are "He lets out a sigh and half the plants in the room die," and Isa shedding scales. LOL

Cayo was great last night. Now it's Nat's turn to step it up, but I'm worried about Dio witnessing her phone call.

If Dan listens to Camila and does not follow her to Dio's, it will be really ridiculous given how he's never listened to her before when he's afraid of something happening to her.

Boy, could Natalia's eyes have been bigger than when she overheard the truth behind closed doors. Pobrecita.

I forgot to mention how cute it was on Monday's episode when Dan had Agatha on his lap at Amanda's and she started to fuss and Dan gets the spoon and tries to stick it to his nose to distract her from fussing. It's clear that he has his own children in real life and knows what it takes to stop the baby's fussing.

Vivi,

Somehow I missed that M&M have a song. I must listen for it. Thanks for the tip. It is for sure the sign that it's real!

Awsome title Paquita!

Dan may not want to leave Cam's alone with Dio or dealing with all these problems sola; but the problem is will Mariano, in his desire to be the white knight to Cam -- get on his face about it or will Cam back Mariano's play or welcome Dan's help?

Thanks Juanita. I picked up on Irene had said she was studying "imformatica" but what the heck is tha? Is it IT?

Re m&m I also remember there being a few meaningful glances between them. Not sparks but meaningful none the less.

Paquita, maybe not sparks, but sparkly eyes. It was clear that they were making a connection.

Paquita, yes, I think informática refers to information technology. I've also sometimes seen it used to refer to computer science, which is slightly less broad than IT.

Juanita- Don't know if you've been seeing the ads for it, but a new narco-novela will be starting on Telemundo soon, called El Señor de los Cielos. This one will be based in Mexico about the real-life drug lord Amado Carrillo Fuentes. Fernanda Castillo (Vivi) will be one of the stars, playing a bad guy!

Here's a look at Fernanda's (Vivi) upcoming villainess: http://bit.ly/10eLmBZ

Since I've only seen her play good characters (and with long hair), I think I will have to check this out when it starts to see her doing something different.

To show just how small the tn world is, even when it crosses networks, the actress (Ximena Herrera) who will be playing the wife of the drug lord, is the real life wife of Alex Sirvent (Rafa).

El Señor de los Cielos starts 4/15 in Mex. Does telemundo do the same as Univision & delay about 6 mths to the US? I need a substitute for Que Bonito Amor. I don't like to start sth in the middle.

Variopinta- Since they are produced by a U.S. based company, the Telemundo tns usually show in the U.S. first, or start at the same time as they show them overseas. That's good that you've seen a date. They've just been saying "muy pronto" on Telemundo.

I may watch that instead of QBA. We'll see.

Thought I might check out a Telemundo TN since I've been hearing a lot of good things about a previous one with "sur" and "reina" in the title. Does anyone know what time the new one will be on?

Not much to say about last nights ep. It was good. Paquita's recap is stellar as always and everybody has said everything I would have said.

However . . .did Piedad reallly say they should have a fiesta when all this drama is going down?

Nanette

Never thought I'd feel bad for Gussie. Way back when she was being horrible to Dan/Andres (un simple chofer) and Camila (don't make me choose between you and MY HUBBY), I thought I wanted the biggest anvil in tn history to land on her head! Now, not so much. Poor Gussie, she is SO repentant and miserable, I really can't summon up any of my previous feelings for her!

I also believe that Miriam and Mariano have had their "moments" but they are being shown in a subtle way. The only difference is the musical underscoring (lack of) when they happen. If they were the first-level protagonistas, nothing would have to be re-filmed, just dramatic music for emphasis.

Love how Omar always blends into the woodwork to keep El Demonio (Diablo is too good for him) informed. No one noticed him at the delegacion, at the hospital and now, outside as Augustina is led off to prison. Even Daniel, who actually worked with him for a while, never seems to notice he's around. He's (Omar) either fantastic at his job, or everyone else is extremely non-observant and tunnel-visioned.

Agree that Isa would only "double the water" in Caye's tea/coffee. She doesn't really want to poison him yet - at least, not until he signs things over to her permanently - so she'll just want to addle his brain again.

Have Yago and Nat been intimate since he picked up the trash? If so, and there's no reason why they wouldn't since they're engaged and "did it" all the time before that, I really hope he didn't also pick up an STD!

Vivi
Muy pronto usually means about 2 wks, so that means it will start when this one is finished. Tks for letting us know about it. I like that type of drama. I actually met Pablo Escobar, gentleman, guapo, many years ago. I recognized the name but didn't know it was THE PE until later.

I still have a little hope for Omar. Not that he can be redeemed but that he will do the right thing to help someone, Natalia, Camila? He will probably see a sinking ship & decide to bale out, doing sth good on his exit. Don't we have one in every TN?
Isn't that on the bingo card?

Yes, Piedad did say sth about a fiesta, Que!, I was impactada!!!

Thanks Vivi for the Telemundo update. I've been watching AB on the internet and i'd like to go back to the tv. It's either get a new antenna that picks up Uni again or check out Tm. Tm it is! The grew Uni ones just don't interest me much.

And (sorry because I know this is a rumor free zone) Silvia Navarro may be switching to telemundo too. So are they on the old studio system down there? I know they still audition so it sounded strange to hear an actor change stations, but that's the rumor.

I don't have new comments to add but this show is definitely the new standard to judge by.

But I do think Miriam's pollyanna good attitude will help her when she finally learns the whole truth and nothing but the truth. She'll be able to accept and move on more easily, esp. since she already suspects Dan isn't fully hers. Then again, she might just be so full of rage at being lied to again that she won't need her sweet attitude anymore.

Kelly

Woo hoo! Viviana is going to play una rubia peligrosa on this new telemundo show. She looks great in the publicity shots I've found online. I may try this one next instead of suffering through more Mejia; the few clips I've seen show really fine production. Still haven't figured out the schedule. Is it a 9PM or a 10PM (EST) time slot? —Agnes

I think that Omar will go down with the ship, although I doubt we will hear about him getting caught, unless he dies trying to defend Dion.

What time will El Senor de los Cielos be airing? If the one following this one is that bad, then I may try to watch the Telemundo one. Are they competing time wise?

Kelly, a while back Vivi linked us to an article in People Espanol (I think) that talked about Telemundo filming in the US and how they have moved production from California to Miami because it's so much less expensive. I like hearing that Sylvia Navaro may move to Telemundo. Maybe she can have more say in production, or maybe there are better producers there.

Kelly, that's an interesting comment about Miriam's "pollyanna" attitude. Yes, it's annoying, but I have to cut her some slack coming into this hornets' nest with no warning. She's wary, and shows it. And we've seen a hint that she can express her outrage, but I think that's really what it is: outrage, not real anger-rage. I think this is a lady motivated by a sense of personal dignity who simply will not stoop to being insulted. She'll just move on if she's not getting what she feels is her due. Just my gut reaction

Kelly- Talking about where the actors have their contracts is ok-- it isn't rumor, especially if we are trying to see when we will next see our fave tn actors.

SN signed with Televisa a few years back after her contract with Azteca ended, and she had been with them a long time. With the end of AB, so ended SN's contract with Televisa where she has now done 3 telenovelas. It seems that she is looking at all her options, which include Telemundo. I have spotted a number of Televisa actors popping up on Telemundo, including Aracely A. who's starring in the popular La Patrona right now. And of course, Fernanda Castillo doing El Señor de los Cielos. Here she is in a brief interview about her new role: http://bit.ly/11OxqkN

It seems like the tn actors have more freedom to move between the U.S.-based Telemundo, and their home country-based studios. But it seems to be more strictly exclusive within their countries-- e.g., you're either an Azteca actor or a Televisa actor.

I haven't seen any times listed for Señor, but La Patrona is on at 9pm and has a ways to go; so does their 8pm show. It seems that the 10pm Telemundo show is the one that will be ending soon, like AB.

Agnes- ITA about Miriam. She has a lot of dignity-- a few of our female characters could take a lesson from her (Natalia, Teresa, and Gussy). Well, actually all three of those ladies are learning/have learned their lessons. I like how Gussy was determined to divorce Dion this episode, even if she doesn't get out of prison, in order to regain some of her dignity.

I thought Teresa was giving up on Mariano.

The above is a random thought and not connected to anyone else's comment. After reading it, I looked like I was commenting on another comment.

Vivi, thanks for the heads-up about telemundo programming. I really don't want another 10 pm show, but if that's what it takes, I'll sign on.

and ITA about the no-gossip rule. I think what Melinama was trying to avoid was a lot of nasty sniping about who was having an affair with whom, who got hair implants and all sorts of (boring) nonsense about their personal lives which you can get at the grocery checkout for crying out loud. But things having to do with the shows themselves, such as direction, scripts, production, the networks, the artists' career trajectories and how they impact what we're watching is sort of a different story. I think it's a good rule because it keeps the conversation at a much more interesting level than just a bunch smarmy details which are usually half-truths anyway. I come here because I respect the level of discourse. If it were to degenerate, I would be truly sad. Which isn't to say we've all haven't said things like: "I could swear she's had work done" LOL—Agnes

Nanette- I think Teresa is almost there. Actually, that call from Mariano this episode, when all he cared about was Camila, might have been the final straw for her. At least, I hope so, because Dante is HOT, and clearly wants her.

Seriously, Vivi, Dante is way hotter that Mariano. There should be no question who she should go with. Unless Dante was less than exceptional in the bedroom.

And I say that last comment from the very superficial and meaningless context that my brain has from watching telenovelas.

Vivi and Cathyx: Mariano is more my type. ;)

Vivi: Later on, though, she made that comment to Dan about it bothering him to see Cam go off with Mariano, so it wasn't just being irritated about Mariano calling her about Cam. That's why I was kind of surprised. Two instances when the other day she said that he was never going to be interested in her and she should move on.

Though I'm liking PEAM a little better, I was excited to hear about Fernanda's new one until the 10:00 time slot was mentioned.

Nanette, that's why there is chocolate and vanilla icecream. You like vanilla and Vivi and I like chocolate.

Vivi, muchísimas gracias for letting me know about the upcoming TN on Telemundo. I've been wondering what to watch after Amor Bravío ends. I had assumed that I'd give Qué Bonito Amor a try. I thought Jorge Salinas was terrific in La Que No Podía Amar, and I saw that Arturo Peniche, whom I liked from En Nombre del Amor, will also be in this TN. OTOH, what people have said about the producer, Mejía, gives me pause.

I think if CarayCaray did daily recaps of TNs on Telemundo, I'd be much more tempted by the TNs there. The few I've seen have been less stereotypical and more interesting than most of the ones on Univision. But my Spanish is not what it should be, and I'm really dependent on the recaps CarayCaray provides. Not to mention how wonderfully clever and delightful they are! I've really missed having those very detailed, daily recaps when I've watched TNs on Telemundo. "The Week on Telemundo" section of CarayCaray is helpful, but it doesn't compare to the coverage and the conversation for TNs on Univision. So I'm really not sure which way to go--Qué Bonito Amor or El Señor de los Cielos. Rafael Amaya, who apparently has the lead role in Señor, was very appealing in La Reina del Sur, and of course I'd welcome the chance to see more of Vivi in a very different role. Ay, decisions, decisions, decisions!

At any rate, I'm most grateful to you for letting me know about this. I keep wishing that there were a section of CarayCaray devoted to news about forthcoming TNs on both Univision and Telemundo (and perhaps also re-runs of classics like Alborada).

Maybe we could put together a recap team for El Senor, if enough people switch over to that one.

So what flavor is Rodolfo then? I'm thinking Dulce de Leche. MMmmmm, dulce de leche!

Sad to see this show go but nice to see there are some good things coming our way. We're like Miriam- hopeful but not willing to put up with too much mierda. Dignified is a good way to describe her. She's like a rich version of Amanda.

Kelly

Thanks for your recap Paquita. Can't wait to watch tonight.
