Por ella soy Eva #159 3/5/13: KaBOOM

hehe, Juan runs from the altar in his dress, with Pluto racing after to catch him. But Santi and Fern are finally useful, holding him back. Onesimo is busy eating tacos so JC gets off free as Adri collapses in heart attack.

Juan grabs some random unconscious guy.

Eugenia tells Modesto that now isn't the time to turn his back on his son.

As Helena steams, Plutigloats in her ear.s

De-moussed mousse boy invites Modesto to stay at his place, at least as long as this unpleasantness lasts.

Enter JC, dressed as doctor, to speak to the comatose Adriano. I don't know if it makes sense, but everything i did I did for love. But I don't see how that would actually make things any better.

But it works - when he mentions mimi and the real baby, he opens his eyes. Get out of this place! You better take advantage of the chance to escape, because when I get outta here I won't rest till you're in jail.

At home, Helena weeps.

Renato has a hug and a patching-up with his Dad. Both apologize.
. . .Cerberez here, filling in for Melinama. . .

Today we get an awful lot of people standing around gasping, wondering how this could ever have happened. I don't begrudge them that.

We'll start this off with Mad Dad. He still looks pretty grumpy, but he gives his daughter a sweet hug and an apology and refrains from telling her "I told you so."

Here comes Pluto (in, at last, a shiny tux) and he wants a word with Helena...Does he really think he can get her back? Anyway, you can practically see the canary feathers stuck between his teeth. He comes to shove his stolen goodbye letters in her face and Rub it in some more.

Meanwhile, JC calls. Helena ignores it, but picks it up when Pluto leaves. JC begs and begs and begs for a chance to explain, and she says he's dead to her.

Renato consoles a weeping Mimi, who seems to buck up a bit with a "vida de color rosa" speech.

Helena heads out for a midnight walk through a scenic parking lot. Pluto tails her as she goes to meet Juan, who tells her for the zillionth time that he did everything for love. It's a pretty thin excuse. She lays into him pretty satisfyingly. It's an impressive anvil, and he certainly deserves it! He keeps begging for a chance to explain, but he really has nothing more than "I did it because I love you." Fortunately, the cops come to lock him up, and we don't have to listen to any more of this. Pluto comes rushing to the scene to get his boy-scout badge, but she wonders what gave him the right to follow her. He honestly thought he was at least gonna get a hug. What a chump!

Mimi gets her obligatory weeping-over-the-patient hospital scene. Come back for my baby! I mean, your baby! The nurse drags her out and his eyes open a bit.

Uh-oh, it looks like Mimi isn't going to be able to go back to her place after Juan's been arrested. I think the cops are there. She'll stay w/ Lucia for the time being.

At the jail, we realize that JC is also officially being charged with homicide. I notice that, while many other characters have changed clothes, Pluti is still in his shiny tux. Now he shares some congratulatory glass of champagne with Onesimo. But that quickly sours. He sends Onesimo out, though, so he can swill more champagne of self-congratulation in private.

He wakes up a total mess, but Rebe busts in wearing a rattlesnake-pattern dress. She wants some smooches with her husband-to-be. She wants an heir, a plutarquito. He's really too drunk to mount any kind of defense.

Juan paces his cell as Helena paces her room. There is a sappy song sung by Juan's actor.

Mimi - I want to go be with Adri... "ando con jesus en la boca." what does that mean?

The good guys discuss plans. Renato has a video of Pluto and Rebe during his marriage to Antonia. Santi looks hilarious. he's shocked - "but I thought he LOVED Antonia." I thought everyone knew.

Wow, what a typical twist - Helena is pregnant.Whoop-dee-doo!
...
Have fun with the rest of the show!

¡Guau! A recap in 13 minutes. You are good!

Loved the way Juan's family has at last rallied around. Renato is really the hero now. I wish him luck coming up with more proof. Adultery isn't enough -- as Fer said.

Onesimo is really dangerous to Pluti. Did y'all see the look he gave Pluti when he was dismissed? I guess we know now for sure who sent the jacuzzi video to Renato. Onesimo was asking Pluti if "anything unusual" happened at work - and then he asked about Renato.

I'm with you Ezra. Could the Helena's embarazada plot be more ho-hum?

Lots of fun watching Juan's escape in the wedding dress. And yes a lot of boring -- but necessary conversations of people feeling shocked and betrayed.

Interesting parallel of Modesto hugging Renato followed by Eduardo hugging Helena. Lightning seems to have struck after all. The dads have come to their senses.

It's going to be quite a week. I can't wait.

Güera

They just couldn't leave it alone, could they? They had to make Helena pregnant. Like there isn't enough going on here to keep up interested.

But I'm a little worried about Jennifer. No word on how she's doing after the forwarded photos thing. Even Marceluca and Fer haven't mentioned it. This would have been a better filler than another pregnancy for the three days we have left, and it allows for a psa on No Sexting, which might be more useful than Drink Your Milk or Buy Avon.

And are ALL these jerky men going to come to their senses? Seems a little sudden for Modesto.

Thank you, Ezra. It was an interesting episodes. Dads finally acting like fathers.
Helena pregnant, maybe that will be the instrument for her to forgive Juan.
How sad was it to see Juan in jail.
Pluti is a little too cocky, where is Antonia??? She needs to stay a little longer and make both Pluti and Rebeca squirm.

Ezra, you are good! A quick yet complete recap.

We've seen other TNs with a bride fleeing the church in her gown, but none so large or so desperate. Thank goodness for sleeping street people who are forced to donate clothing.

Pluti--a victim of Rebe and "too drunk to mount any kind of defense." Je je. I was hoping for another Antonia speech, but maybe it would be lost to Pluti's drunken state.

It was nice to see Renato trying to help JC and the fathers mellowing into a support team.

I hope Adri heard Mimi's explanation. I'm fearful for his condition and his future.

Oy, of course Helena is pregnant. I guess that will force her to give Juan another chance.

Nail biting time the rest of the week.

La Paloma

Ezra, loved your sarcasm...finally " the cops came so we didn't need to listen to more of this"! However, I *do* hate seeing Juan in jail and I already miss Eva.

Boy is Marci ever pissed. Someone please interpret. Does she think Ferni knew about Eva?

Gosh...I hope Adri survives this somehow. I felt worse for him than I do for Helena and I feel very bad for Helena. At least Hlena is still trying to protect Juan from PLuty. I got that she told PLuty that Juan's phone call was Lucia updating her on Adri's condition ( I think).

So,Rebe can have sex with PLuty on every surface on every planet and not get pregnant. But Helena has sex with Juan ...what ...four times after an 8 year drought and gets knocked up!!? Que que what? This must be a novella.

I hope the damn gun that Onesimo is carrying around is shooting blanks like PLuty!! Gertie

Thanks again Ezra! I also couldn't believe they threw in the curveball of Helena being pregnant. As if things weren't complicated enough between her and JC. Of course we know JC 's swimmers are strong since he also knocked up his old lover who got the abortion. While Pluti slept with both Antonia and Rebe for 10 years and not one of his little guys has hit the mark.

Ezra, your are one quick recapper! Thanks for the point by point snappy presentation!

Gertie, Marcela was angry with Fernando because she thought he had known about JC being Eva and was his accomplice all along. Fernando clarified that he had just found out (recently) about JC being Eva. Later he tells her that JC did it all for love and that he admires him for that.

First of all, is there a pregnancy epidemic going on here? I hate to say it but does anyone here use birth control???? First Mimí and now Helena. At least Rebecca has an idea of what she is doing wih Prince Charming Pluterco and praying for a little prince. By the way, who knew Rebecca had a formal snake print dress?

I do feel sorry for Helena because in watching the whole church scene and seeing Eva without the wig and JC with his makeup and earrings was really quite grotesque. That would be a hard image to erase from one's mind. Then to end up pregnant and knowing there is no easy way out. Yikes!!!

It was so funny but predictable that Onésimo was oblivious to the whole mess at the church since he was so busy eating. I am ready for some Onésimo action against Pluterco!

Jarifa

The whole end to the wedding was sad. JC did look grotesque with his make up and earrings and with out the Eva wig and glasses. I hated when Pluti accused him of murder in front of that whole church and glad intialy that JC was able to escape with Fern and Santi's help.

Hated that Pluti followed Helena and JC to their castle meeting place and him calling the cops. I am so glad she dissed him both there and when he came to see her.

I was impressed with Eduardo being there for Helena and Modesto asking for forgiveness from Renato. Now they will be redeemed I'm thinking.

Hated that Adri had that infarto, but hopefully Adri heard what both JC and Mimi told him about the baby Mimi is carrying. I hope Adri recovers. And how sweet was Luci this epi, by having Mimi stay with her. I thought that was wonderful and I think Lucia may be more like that woman she was in the beginning instead of such a ditz.

I too think Helena's pregancy will be helpful in Helena forgiving JC. I think Helena may forgive him cause she wasn't buying Pluti's bull hockey and she knows that JC wouldn't murder anyone, IMOHO.

So Onesimo was the one that sent that disk to Renato. I wonder what will happen with that. Oh, and Pluti was talking about getting those shares back from Eva, now that JC is in jail. Lots more anvils to come. Can't wait to see what happens tomorrow.

Jarifa, thanks so much for interpreting the Ferni/Marcella dialogue. That may have been one of the few sensible things Ferni has said in 162 capitulos.

Yes...putting myself in Helena's shoes, and even her wedding gold tacones were way too high for me, that was grotesque to witness. This guy was the love of her life doing what he did in front of her whole family and hundreds of people! But I think Lalo is a resilient little guy. He seemed to handle the whole thing better than everyone in church. I think several of you predicted that He'd use Helena's forgiveness speech on her....that should be coming soon if it comes. Gertie

Thanks Ez, I was way too busy tonight to do the recap - but I'd take a shift on the Friday double episode if needed. Glad I missed all the Pluti gloating. Very funny post!

Thanks for the recap.

Pluto had his crowning moment when he saw Juan behind bars. What he doesn't realize is that (I predict) it will be the pivotal moment for both Juan and Pluto.

1. Helena was FURIOUS with Juan - unforgivable, "you're dead to me," etc. But when she watched him carried off to jail, she felt great compassion for him. Like when two guys fist-fight for a girl, and she rushes to the aid of the loser, a bloody mess on the floor. It diffused her anger at him.

2. Helena realizes that Pluto accused Juan to the police, and told them where to find him (right?). So now instead of being furious at Juan, she's furious at Pluto.

3. Renato had a long-lived, deep-seated grudge against Juan. But when he heard that his brother was going to prison, accused of murder, Renato's rancor changed to compassion. And we all believe Renato is the one (along with Onessimo) with the keys to bring down Pluto. When Pluto put Juan in jail, he put Renato on Juan's side and bought his own tombstone.

Excellent recapping, as always.

There seemed to be so much missing from this capitulo, 2 things especially glaring to me:

JC as a doctor is talking to Adriano, and he wakes up and speaks to JC, telling to run and hide, but the next time we see Adriano, when Mimi is weeping over him, he is intubated...que, que, what happended here?

We have these nice father/child bonding monents, Renato gives the happy disc to Santiago, now suddenly there is a big group of GI people in entirely different clothing discussing GI, JC/fraud, stategies...que, que, when did they figure all this out?

One last thing, in the previous capitulo I thought Pluti put Eva/JC's suitcase all back together when he and Onisimo were in the pension bedroom, que, que, why did he have Eva's good-bye letters?

4 more very full hours 'till we're done :^(

Sue in Florida

Sue in Florida:

Bout Pluti having those letters. When he and Onesimo went to the pension, Onesimo was the one that put everything back in the suitcase, but Pluti kept those letters. At the time, I thought he'd destroy them, but instead he gave both letters to Helena and explained Eva/JC had left them. Hope that answers your question.

Thanks, Ezra! I am much too tense to watch live now, so I desperately need these recaps before I can face the DVR...

However, I have committed myself to being in my chair, in my Renato outfit, with the telenovela cat and the big dictionary, for the full two hours on Friday in solidarity with my Caraymates. ¡¡PORQUE TODOS SOMOS MEXICANAS!!

About Rebecca & her pregnancy plot. She has scrupulously protected herself from pregnancy until now because she couldn't bear to mess up her cuerpocito -- she even shuddered at the thought of losing her shape as she planned her baby trap. Little does she know that Pluti's supposed longing for a child was a ruse he used on Antonia & Helena.

Güera

I think now would be a good time for us to imagine Pluto's destruction. How do you want it to play out?
* Fast and ugly death, like the henchman on Pasion who died one piece at a time?
* Slow and agonizing death like the evil matriarch on FELS who was buried alive?
* Living h@ll like Lucero's character on MEPS who tried to burn herself to death but instead survived disfigured and in horrible pain for life?
* Biological killer, like alligators, rattlesnakes, jackels?
* Lifelong ridicule and humiliation like, I forget which TN, but the evil matriarch in prison became the slave/victim of the saddistic prison bully.

The best outcome would be one that reflects some facet of his evil life. I think he should be eaten by sharks.

Ooooo slow and painful, please.

And he should have to witness the happiness & success of the people he tried to sink -- maybe all he can see from his prison cell/manicomio/squatters' den is a big billboard of Helena & Juan, the new co-presidents of Grupo Imperio, surrounded by their cute children.

Blue, You're going to be Renato? I'm going for Antonia or Eugenia, haven't decided.

Thanks for the recap. Heck, thanks to ALL you lovely people for an entire telenovela of spectacular recaps. And to the commenters, what a bunch!

Emilia, if you can't decide, you can always be both! As I recall, several of us rang out CME wearing off-the-shoulder red dresses AND false moustaches. :)

Paula:

I'd love to have Pluti live in a living Hades the rest of his life, haunted by Antonia day and night. Serves him right for all the h e double hockey sticks he put her through, and all the evil he has done.

Thanks, Ezra. Two in a row and I don't think you missed anything. Wow.

So Mad Dad and Modesto are suddenly all caring and kind? Why? How? I don't buy it.

The letters that Pluti gave to Helena - do we know if those are really the same letters Juan wrote, or did Pluti replace them with whatever incriminating lies and nonsense he wanted Helena to read? (Does he seriously still think Helena will accept him? Are we supposed to be worried?)

I wish Helena hadn't paid any heed to Pluto at all. Even if Juan were really a crook and had done everything he's accused of, including murder, Helena still knows that Pluto told her some pretty serious lies too AND told Lalito that it's okay to cheat. That's one of my pet peeves in TNs. Juan's alleged guilt doesn't make Pluto any less of a proven liar. Next time he tries to talk to her, she should crack him over the head with a lamp or vase.

Marcela is still being firm with Fernando. Wonder if he'll change or if she'll thaw.

I was VERY annoyed by Helena's pregnancy. I hope there's some better reason for that than mere cliche (or to give her more incentive to forgive Juan).

Jarifa - "who knew Rebecca had a formal snake print dress?" LOL!

I liked that Adriano was lucid (and forgiving) enough to tell Juan to escape while he had the chance. He's putting a lot of personal feelings aside for Juan's benefit.

Pluto's end? I think he will strangle Rebeca either by mistake (during sex) or on purpose and then wander around aimlessly, hallucinating that he's being tormented by the ghosts of Antonia and Rebeca, until he finally kills himself in a needlessly gruesome way (or gets run over by a truck by mistake), and his pancreas is donated to someone with diabetes.

Ezra mentioned Mimi "anda con Jesus en la boca" and questioned the meaning. Below is one of the answers my Google search found:

It means with to be with great tension, suspense, anguish, fear, worry, anxiety, etc. You get the picture. It can be used to talk about being worried about someone or some event.

This expression is used in Mexico mostly. It comes from the colloquial way of invoking the name of Jesus in moments of tension, expectation or affliction, in order to prevent dangers, accidents, etc.

La Paloma

Example of "con Jesus en la boca."

Jill hears Jack answer the phone, listen a moment, then yell at the caller, "Don't touch that box! Run far away from the house! I'll be there right away!" Jack dashes away with no explanation. Jack left Jill "con Jesus en la boca."

Ah. So "con Jesus en la boca" is the same as when we would say "with her heart in her mouth."

ESO!

Just read the recap again, for fun. It's a tie between "some random unconscious guy" and "canary feathers stuck in his teeth." Jajá.
