Amor Bravío #162 (Uni 157) Fri 4/5/13 Di-Day Arrives and We All Get a Wedding-Day Surprise

P.1
Capítulo 162

Lo del Pasado:

Hipolito and the rest of the MI B-team have successfully purloined Dionisio’s “portafolios” [briefcase] and gotten it safely to Camila and the others waiting at Osvaldo Becerra's office.  Hipo has forced it open with his knife and Cami’s finally gotten a chance to peer inside.

Lo del Nuevo:

And…as Viewerville holds its breath with great angst, the result is that...IT’S EMPTY!!!  (Ok. Did we honestly expect it to be anything but this early into the final episodios?????  Those writers did it to us again!  Darn ‘em!)  Cam is ready to pull her hair out.  Mariano grabs the knife from Hipo and starts tearing along the edges of the briefcase to see if there are any hidden pockets or false bottoms, but again there’s nothing to be found.  Hipo has a thought.  He mentions that while they were searching Dio’s office, he spied a group of documents on his desk and a locked drawer.  (It would have been too much to ask for him to have thought on his feet and grabbed those papers and possibly jiggled the desk open at the same time, right? I suppose that would have broken telenovela rules regarding the inability of the good guys to contemplate more than their navels in tight spots.)   “--Perhaps that’s where he’s put them now?”  Well, yeah, but she needed the stuff today!  Cam groans in despair.

Mariano, even slower on the uptake than usual, suggests negotiating with Dio.  As if, Cami answers.  “--He doesn’t negotiate and if he would I’d have done it already.”  Hipo suggests breaking into Dio’s house today while he and his bodyguards are all at the wedding.  It just so happens (coinkidinkilly) that Hipo’s uncles owned a locksmith’s shop when he was a kid and he picked up a few tricks of the trade from them, not that he ever did anything illegit because of it.  How will he go about it, Cam asks?  He’d do just what those thieves do to others--and just as easily—break in and take what’s wanted.

Cami isn’t comfortable doing something illegal.  Hipo tries reasoning with her. “--It’s all for the greater good, right?  It’s for your mother’sfreedom!!”  Mariano and Osvaldo both agree that in this kind of circumstance they’d do exactly the same thing Hipo’s suggesting.  Cam reluctantly agrees then and reminds him to be extremely careful cuz this is one dangerous dude.  (No duh!)  He’ll get what she needs, no problem, he assures her.  She thinks to herself that he’d better find those passports, cuz if not she’ll have to go to bed with that slimeball and break her non-promise to Mama.

At the same time, Teresa stops by the B&B and drops in on Dante who’s doing a bit of reading before turning in.  Her period’s late, she explains, and the home pregnancy test turned pink.  So, Dante, she’s expecting a visit from the stork and he’s the reason for the special delivery since he’s the only man she’s gone to bed with. (Ever????) True, neither of them was expecting it, she continues, but nothing has to change between them and no, she doesn’t want anything from him.  It’s just he’s the baby-daddy and has a right to know.  Dante stares blankly at her.

Back at Dio’s den of iniquities, the bachelorette party continues.  Luzma and Natalia figure Cam has the passports in her hands by now.  It’ll mean Nat’s daddy goes to jail, but Nat says no biggy.  She won’t be the one putting him there.  His evil deeds will be what put him there.  He’s immoral and as wicked as they come, but she can deal.  Just then Daddy arrives back home. Everyone hopes that Papi the Perv doesn’t realize his briefcase is AWOL.

Dante finally apologizes to Tere for appearing to be so shocked, but actually he is.  He had the alarming thought for the longest time now that he’d possibly never have kids.  He had worked in a radioactive zone at one time, and some of the other men who worked there with him had fertility problems afterwards, due to their exposure to the radioactivity.  He’d thought he’d have the same problem.   He takes her by surprise and grabs her, landing a big smoochy on her kisser.  “Hey!  I’m going to be a daddy!  I love the idea!!”  Tere confesses she’d always dreamed of becoming a mother and so she’s also thrilled.  He suggests they live together to see if they can fall in love (huh?) and make their relationship work.  That way they’ll be able to give their child a home.  (What’s wrong with getting married first and giving the kiddie a name and a typical, normal, standard family where Mommy and Daddy and Baby make three?  You have good sex together and enjoy each other's company.  It’s very simple. Is there  really a reason to reinvent the wheel or what am I failing to grasp about this?)

Tere agrees that hopefully whatever they’re feeling for each other now will turn into love. Dante assures Tere that if it doesn’t work out between them they’ll continue being friends and he’ll be responsible for his child.  Tere says that’s fine and so she’ll catch up to him in Chile once the case with Sra. Agustina is resolved.  Nope.  Nothing doin’, he tells her.  He’ll stick around here in Mexico and when he goes back to Chile, it will be with her, like a regular couple would, and like the couple they are as of today.  They seal the deal with a major lip-lock.  (Blech.)

Over at Party Central, Daddy Dio heads into his office and immediately takes out the sexy things he’s bought to have Cam wear Saturday night. (Gag alert!)  He touches them, no doubt imagining her wearing them.  He buries his face in them and breathes deeply.  (Viewerville fights to keep its supper down.) “—You will look like a goddess!  Tomorrow at this time you are going to be at my [bed]-side my love.”

Back at the M.Q. again, Os cautions Hipo to take any piece of paper he sees in Dio’s office, no matter how unimportant it might be.  Hipo says sure thing and once he’s got what he’s come for and is free and clear of the place he’ll call Os on his cell to let him know.  HIpo goes and Mariano asks Cam to cheer up.  Things will turn out.  Os tries encouraging her also, telling her it ain’t over till it’s over.  “—Keep your hopes up.  It’s not over yet.  The day of reckoning always comes.”

“--Party over guys, hope y’all had a great time!  Careful with those dishes and things!”  Luzma, Nat and Dorotea hold theire breath as they watch Dio head for bed (where visions of camisoled Camila’s are sure to dance in his head).  Nat and the others breathe a communal sigh of relief.  “—We’ve been lucky!  Apparently he never noticed his missing briefcase.  Yippee!”

The next morning, Viviana and Rafael are having breakfast with Daniel and Miriam.  As Miriam listens from the kitchen, Dan mentions that Lic. Becerra told him that they found bupkis in Dio’s briefcase; and now Hipo’s going to sneak into his house while he’s at Nat’s wedding and take out whatever documents he can find.  Yeah, says Vivi, she spoke with Cami before they came over and she told her the same thing.  Dan wonders how she’s handling it all.  “--She’s pretending it doesn’t bother her, but she sounded pretty worried.  I offered to come by and chat, but she wanted to be alone and said she’d see us at the wedding.”

Dan tells them that what frightens him is that Hipo will come up empty again, and that Cam will give in to his blackmail.  “—We’ll have to…er…You’ll have to prevent that from happening, because there’s no negotiating with Dionisio. (Way to walk on those eggshells of Miriam's, Dan'l.)  "--He never keeps his word.  It could be a trap.  He’s just as likely not to do what he says. “--Even after getting what he wants and taking advantage of Camila, he might not give you the evidence to free Agustina. Moreover, once he finds out about the stipulations in the documents when I gave over control of my share of the ranch to her.”  He describes how he had Os stipulate that the ranch couldn’t be transferred over, be sold or, trade it for a bank draft/money order (?).   That way it’s useless to him.

They’re all hoping for a miracle.  Miriam comes over to the table.  “—It’s saving Camila’s mother’s life we’re talking about here.”  If either Dan’s or her daughter’s life were in danger, she’d do anything that was asked of her and to heck with the consequences.  (That’s not exactly what Dan needed to hear at this point, Mir.)  The others look knowingly at Dan.  All three secretly cringe.

At the prison, Agustina is chatting with her cellmate and is told she has a visitor.   Who could it be?  Cami didn’t tell her she was coming today, she says.

Well, it’s not Camila.  She is apparently sitting in her old spot by the pillar and remembering with dread and loathing Dio’s depraved terms for turning over the vindicating evidence for her mother, Dan’s warnings that her stepfather had designs on her, and her mother’s begging her to promise she wouldn’t succumb to Dio’s demands, no matter what.  Afterwards she prays to the diosito for protection of all those trying to help her through this dangerous situation.

 ~~Parte 2~~
Gussie gets to the visiting room and Dio’s there with a manila envelope in his hand.  Yes, it’s Dio come to gloat while paying a nasty visit to his now ex-mujer in jail.  Gussie curls her lips in a malevolent snarl and hisses.  ”—What are you doing here?”  Dio affects disappointment.  “—Oh, what a welcome!”  “—I never want to see you again in my lifetime!  Ever!!  What did you come for?”    He hands her over the signed divorce papers and says she’s free.  “—Or rather, better said I’m now free of you!” She spits back at him how she’s waited for this moment and nothing binds them except the damned debt he owes her, cuz he knows very well that she’s innocent!  Sure, he says smoothly, she’s innocent, but not about being here, only for having believed he could be in love with her.

“—You never loved me, did you?  You were always cheating on me with Isadora and only married me to get involved with La Malquerida and to get close to Camila.”  He raises his eyebrows.  “—My, my!  Finally you get it!  How could it ever have occurred to you to think that a man like me could be interested in you, huh?  You’re so low-rent, so annoyingly nauseating, so insufferable.”  “--You impudent swine! But you aren’t going to get your way!  Camila swore to me she’d never give into your blackmail!  She’s not handing over La Malquerida or anything you want, even though it means I’ll remain in this place the rest of my life!” He looks over the table at her condescendingly, pulls at his goatee and suggests she shouldn’t put too much faith into Camila’s promises, because provided that she gets her mama out of there, she is going to sacrifice herself.  “—She is going to give herself to me this very night.”

Gussie starts screaming that she doesn’t believe a word of it.  Oh yes, Dio tells her with a cocky grin and oozing with malevolence, tonight after Natalia’s wedding she’ll take him the documents handing him over the rights to the M.Q. andher lovely self so that he can enjoy her in whatever way he’s got a hankering to!!  “—How much I’ve wished to make her mine!”

Gussie gets hysterical; she can’t believe it and tells him he’s only saying that to humiliate her.  Hell, no!  He tells her he could care less how it makes her feel.  It’s all about him, about this great desire he’s had for Camila all this time!!  “—So, when you do go free, thanks to your little daughter, it will be because La Malquerida as well as she will have been mine!” Bwa-hahahahahahaaaaaaaa!!!!! Gussie becomes a sobbing ninny.  (The woman just has no sense of self-respect at all!  Where did Camila get all her smarts and spunk from, the milkman?)

Back at the M.Q., Cami’s still in her jammies daydreaming.  Hipo knocks on the door to tell her he’s off early to keep a watch on Dio’s house.  She gives him her cell phone to call Os with and shows him how to work it.  He’s grateful for the chance to look again for those documents and passports, he tells her.  Doesn’t matter that he’s obviously put them somewhere else cuz Hipo’s determined to find them for her.

Back at the prison, Gussie tearfully begs Dio not to hurt Camila.  He can do what he wants with her but please don’t hurt her daughter!!  The cocky S.O.B. snickers and looks with contempt at her on her knees, clinging to him pathetically.  “—Oh, I’m not going to harm her!  On the contrary!  With me she is going to have a taste of what it is to have a real man!  Have you forgotten what a good lover I am?”  (The disturbed factor is off the charts at this point.  I need a bath!  Even Scrubbing Bubbles won’t be good enough to get this kind of slime off!)  Gussie now pleads with him not to disgrace her daughter by committing such an indecent, perverted act as to sleep with the daughter after having slept with the mother in the same bed!!  (The ick factor is heading skyward about now, too.)  Dio snickers again and asserts that she and Cami are so different he’d never mentally connect the two of them as being from the same family.  Not that he would give a damn anyway, he adds as an afterthought, since the only thing that matters and that has ever mattered is what he wants and desires!!! But she promised, Gussie bawls!  She promised her she wouldn’t!!

Dio is on his way out the door. Gussie begs him again not to get involved with Cam.  He turns to Gussie and tells her she can’t offer him a thing.  It was torture [suplicio] being her husband, and complete agony making love to her.  But, tonight it's going to be a pleasure kicking her out of his life and welcoming in Camila, his Camila.  (My gag-o-meter has just self-detonated.)  He turns and disappears through the door, leaving Gussie whimpering to herself on the floor about Camila’s promises not to do anything that Dionisio wanted.

Parte 3

At La Buenaventura, all three brothers are dressed and ready to head to the church now.  Mariano tells Pablo what Yago told him about their dad telling him Issa took him to a lawyer’s office instead of the doctor’s office like she’d said.  Since the old guy can’t seem to remember very clearly, Mar figures it’s best not to confront Issa about the name of the doctor Yago was asking for.  It’s probably another one of her lies anyway.  He’d rather wait instead on the results of the analysis and take her by surprise.  Pablo says he’ll check at the lab for them after church. Yago walks in and hears the conversation.  “—I have no doubt that the woman is doing something to Dad.  Before he married her he was full of life and now he seem like a decrepit old man, without a will of his own.”

El Tonto de Cayó walks in and complements Yago on how nice he looks.  Yago asks how he’s feeling.  Cay says he’s fine, but he started feeling sleepy a while ago after drinking some coffee.  “—Shouldn’t I be just the opposite? Oh well, let’s get going.  You know I hate getting anywhere late.”  Caye leaves to go tell Issa to get a move on.  Yago is worried and asks Mariano to let him know about those test results, and hopefully before he leaves on his honeymoon to Europe.  Count on it, Mar says, and if it’s after he’s gone, not to worry, cuz he and Pablo will be on top of it.

Isadora, angling to have the place to herself that night, totally devoid of any witnesses to the forced temporal departure of her old fool of a husband now that he's been duly parted from his money, gives the entire staff the rest of the day off “in honor of the family's wedding-day celebration”—not that any of them were invited, mind you.  The caporal  [foreman] can’t believe she’d leave La BV unprotected, despite the celebration, what with Leoncio loose and on the prowl.  Don Cayetano, he tells her, gave the order for them to double the guard on the ranch till he’s caught.   Issa bites his head off and pulls rank.  “—I’m giving the orders and that’s enough!”  He may be caporal, but “La Dueña” the last she checked still outranked him.

A few minutes later, Leoncerdo is lurking outside and peeking up from behind some landscaping rocks.  He notes the family all dressed up and overhears something about Yago’s wedding.  “—Oh, so he’s getting hitched.  I wonder to who.  Probably some highfalutin, fancy-pants [furfura] female!  Ok, so Isadora you stay alone.  Yeah, cuz I want to kill you in order to leave with mi Luzmita."

The caporal tells the cook that he doesn’t really thing Don Caye realizes that his wife’s given every one of them the entire day off.  The ranch has never been left totally unguarded, he says and especially now with Leoncio on the loose, there’s more reason than ever to watch the place!  The cook isn’t worried and figures they’re coming back late from the wedding simply to go to bed.  No reason for the staff to be there so she’s taking full advantage of her day off.

Leoncio hears the conversation and knows then that Issa and the old man will be alone tonight.  He smiles to himself. It’ll be a piece of cake taking his revenge on her for what she did to him.   “—This is your chance, Leoncito.”

At the church, in the sacristy, Valentino informs Padre Anselmo that everything’s ready for the wedding.  Anselmo is antsy about performing the ceremony.  Natalia’s in love, but he has his doubts about Yago.  There’s a knock on the door and Tere and Dante ask for a few minutes to speak with him.

Tere and Dante take a moment to give the “news” of their imminent prenuptial paquete sans nuptials to Anselmo.  He is furious of course and lectures them about their irresponsibly, putting the cart before the proverbial horse with something as important as the birth of a child. Out of wedlock!  He’s got a whole orphanage of kids to prove it, he tells them angrily.  Tere politely suggests he’s just too old-fashioned about these things.  (Sez who?)  That’s a big 10-4, he tells them.  “—Why don’t you do this the way God’s designed it, i.e., in reverse?

Dante tells them they’re going to be living together and are hoping to fall in love; and if they do they’ll get married then.  Either way, he’ll take the responsibility for his child.  “--And so you’ll be living in Chile, I suppose?  That means it’s a no-go for that job offer in Mexico City, Teresa.”  Yeah, she says, and they’ll be moving to Chile only after she’s finished with Camila’s mother’s case.

Back at the prison, Cellie (Carmela?) and Gussie are discussing Dio’s visit while waiting to use the pay phone.  Gussie is adamant that she get hold of Camila and warn her.  She tries calling the house phone first, but there’s no answer and she’s too upset to remember Cam’s cell phone number.  It won’t matter, says Cellie, cuz the prison phone won’t call through to cell phones.  Don’t waste the effort.  “—What do I do then to get hold of her and make sure what all Dionisio told me is true?”

In town now, everyone who’s anyone (and even some that aren’t) are waiting outside the church to await the arrival of the bride-to-be.  Dan argues with Miriam about getting another couple of tests done to make certain there aren’t any possible risks in flying home.  She refuses and says she’s leaving for Chile the next day as planned come Hell or high water.  Just then Cami arrives.  She’s looking rather grumpy, but she’s got reason to be.  Mir greets her.  Dan asks her again not to give in to Dio’s demands.  She tells him she’s not in the mood to discuss that right now.

Dante and Tere arrive and tell Dan and Mir about the pregnancy and their plans to make a go of their relationship.  Dan tells Dante he’s really into the daddy thing and Dante’s gonna love it.

A little ways away, Rafa and Vivi tell Cam that Dan’s sent off Alonso’s recording to Mexico City, the one about the kidnapping.  They hope it can be fixed well enough to put Issa in jail.  Right on, says Cam.  The one who should really be in jail is Issa and not her mother!

Hipo is now outside Dio’s house and secretly observes him and his henchmen driving off together.  He looks around and then starts picking the lock on the rod iron gate.

Back in the churchyard, Yago, Mar, Issa and the tubby old hubby arrive. They greet the other guests.  Then Dio arrives and jabbers jocularly about him and the Alberran’s soon being part of the same clan [emparentar=being related by marriage].  Rocio walks up to Yago to wish him the best.  He and El Tonto make it clear she’s not welcome.  “—If Yago didn’t invite you, it’s because you are not welcome.”  Issa interjects her snide remark here.  “—Calm down, love, and remember that there are people who just don’t have dignity.”   Rocio ignores the remark (you go, girl!) and tells Yago that she still hopes he’ll come to love her again one day.  She gives him her blessing and then goes over to join Mar and Pablo on the other side of the yard.  Caye apologizes for the “scene” and Dio jovially tells him these things happen in every family.

In another part of the gathering, Piedad tells Doro she’s anxious for Monday so she can get the results of her mammogram.  Doro tells her she’s done all she can so to forget about it till Monday comes.  Pie mentions that Luzma spent the night with Nat to be able to help her get dressed for the wedding.

Back at the M.Q., Eleu and Rod are on watch at the ranch.  They take a breather in the drive.  Why isn’t Eleu at the wedding with Doro, Rod asks.  No way he’s going to leave his heartbroken buddy to suffer alone, says Eleu, and he opens a bottle of reposado for the two of them.  “—I know we shouldn’t drink on the job, but what the hey.  It will help with love-sickness.  Bottoms up!  Salud!  (Thank gawd Leo de Sordido’s decided to hit the BV first!  These two are gonna be sh!tfaced and worthless in no time.)  Eleu swallows another.  “—As my granddaddy used to say, ‘Well now grieve today, mourn tomorrow, then you can look for another gal the day after tomorrow.”  (Thanks, ViviDC!)  Yeah, says Rod, but I’m a one-woman man.  “--I fancied her from the first time I met her. It makes me heartsick and it's giving me fits knowing that Nat is at the altar with another guy today.”

After a while, Anselmo starts to wonder where the heck Natalia is.  He runs over to Amanda to ask why the delay.  She at first suggests it’s just taking her daughter a while longer to get ready and that she’ll be there in a few minutes, tho’ it does seem she’s taking way too long, she agrees.   She walks away and then calls everyone to attention.  “—You’ve come here to celebrate Natalia and Yago’s wedding and I thank you for being here.  At the same time, I offer you and apology because the wedding isn’t going to take place.”   Dio yells over at his ex and wants an explanation.  Yago asks her why she’s telling them there’s no wedding.

Amanda looks at the two of them and puts it out there.  (Oh, yes,  Amanda!  You do blunt really well.)  “—Because Natalia discovered the type of man she has for a father and also she discovered the type of man that she was going to have for a husband, and thus there will not be a wedding.”  She smiles triumphantly over at Dionisio who is now stone-faced and ready to burst a cerebral conduit or two.  “--She is at this very moment in a place where neither one of you two will be able to find her…EVER!”

The camera pans the crowd.  Yago looks like he probably is more relieved than anything as he looks at his feet and figits.  Dan appears to be secretly pleased and somewhat surprised at Nat’s ingenious way of turning the tables on those two.  Cayetonto appears to be just awake enough to realize the social snub Los Alberran have just suffered.  Cam is just plain out of it and confused.  And Dio? He is mentally measuring his ex for a pair of cement high-heels.

Comments:
One gotcha gets another! Amanda was enjoying every moment of this. This must be where we pick up on Monday.

El Diablo deserves far worse for what he just did to Augustina. It's probably a good thing that nobody at the wedding was there to see that. I hope Camila finds out about it before she has to face him again.

And my friend Martha went to China and asked me to tape the ''GRAN FINAL DE DOS HORAS'' and there I am taking out recorders, battling wires, and trying to get a good antenna reception and then I saw the wedding getting ready and thought, another TN that ends in a wedding...
My surprise was that I didn't see anybody paying for their crimes and then while the credits rolled up, they show previews for Monday...
WHAT?
I don't where Martha's head is, but I seriously thought she knew the TN would end last night. I am glad it didn't, because she'll be back to watch it herself without commercials, and colorín colorado---

The last few minutes were so much fun so forgive me if I act too giddy.

Wow, that was quite a wedding day surprise. Not even a bodas interruptus but no wedding at all! I looked at it several times as seeing the satisfaction on Amanda's face as well as the humiliation on Dio and Iago's faces was too fun. Which of the Scoobies will be the first to guess at Nat and Luzma and with Aaron? I think it might be Dan.

With the non-wedding, I'm really concerned about Hipolito.

I hope Aaron is able to do his Dr. Phil thing with Luzma.

Cathyx, I bow to your guessing prowess as the previews seem to allow us to think that Gussy may do a very non Catholic thing to save her daughter.

Her scene with Dio was so sad. She has more than paid for her stupidity and last night I wished she wasn't at the mothers as saints prison b/c normal TN prison women would have coached her on how to handle Dio.

He's evil and no amount of begging would help. This was the moment to embrace her prison status, grab a chair and make sure that man could not walk out of that prison (in real life I'm peace loving, really). Since death is too good for him, she needed to beat him senseless. What did she have to loose since she's already in prison? I know it would have been a beanie moment considering her personality and we did get Amanda's triumph. But I felt so badly for her as she cried in front of that odious man.

Can't wait for next week!

My recorder didn't record the first couple of minutes, so could someone please tell me what they found in the briefcase.

Cathyx, they found absolutamente NADA. Not even a Gotcha note.

Thanks Juanita, now I'm going to go back and watch the rest. I didn't want to go any further in case it was info I needed to understand the rest of the show.

I too found the scene between Agustina and Dio very painful. As Karen said, no amount of crying or pleading on Agustina's part would have done any good with Dio--it just plays into his sick mind. The avances seemed to indicate that Agustina was indeed going to do a very non-Catholic thing.

Speaking of the avances, I was surprised that they never said "El próximo lunes" but spoke only about el gran final on viernes at 10. At first I was afraid that they were somehow pre-empting everything on MTWTh. I'm almost positive that that's NOT what they're going to do, just a sign of how on edge I was last night as I was watching. :-)

I loved the non-boda scene at the end. Finally Amanda can gloat at Dio.

I think I heard PROXIMO LUNES, since I was waiting for the words THE END and I got instead the credits rolling with the previews... I am sure there's still 5 more episodes left.

Augustina's begging was futile and she has seriously humiliated herself beyond recovery. Nothing she could have done to him in that visiting room would have been effective short of murdering him and there are too many hours left for him to go down at that moment.

Not to mention that murder is beyond Augustina's capability.

El Diablo has no intention of letting Augustina out of prison no matter what Camila does. Nor will he spare Daniel or anyone else she cares about. This makes for a long hit list:

Daniel
Miriam (because she's likely to be a witness or seek justice)
Viviana
Rafael
Luzma
Piedad
Hipolito
Pablo
Maja
Amanda (for different reasons)

Since she is turning on him at this point, Hissadora is the biggest threat to El Diablo despite being vulnerable to Leoncerdo's obvious threat. I couldn't believe she could be foolish enough to not take the appropriate precautions knowing that the likelihood of him being out for her blood would be considerable.

Re Avances: During the final five, Univision refers to the Gran Final and give no daily previews. This is not necessarily how other networks in other countries handle this. In Mexico there was a 2-hour finale on a Sunday.

Finally watched the show, I didn't realize that Amanda knew about Nat's plan. I hope that she didn't end the wedding too soon before Hipolito has time to find evidence.

Karen, I swear I don't watch ahead, I never want to know ahead of time what is happening before we discuss it. It bothers me when people do and then comment. One can't help but reveal something that hasn't happened, maybe not realizing they did. And I'm not certain that Aggie will actually do it. Maybe there will be an attempt but she lives, or she learns that Dion has been captured before she does it. For Camila's sake, I hope I'm right.

And I agree with UA, I don't think Dion would have any intention of letting Aggie off the hook once he gets Camila in bed.

Dan looked soooooooo handsome in that dark Charro suit. Mm, mm, mm.

As I said last night, THAT MAN NEEDS TO BE SQUASHED LIKE THE COCKROACH HE IS. How dare he treat another human being like that. He totally humiliated Gussy and enjoyed it. There needs to be a Murder on the Orient Express ending for this miserable excuse for a man.

The reason Gussie didn't whack him dead on the spot instead of groveling is that she hasn't been judged and sentenced yet, she still has hopes of getting out--that's why Teresa couldn't leave for Chile right away with Dante and the others--who may not be going anyway.

Why oh why did they show that tower in the prison yard? This is TMI for our busy minds.

I agree, Amanda should have waited a little longer for a greater effect, but Padre was beginning to have fits and she didn't want him to keel over.

I hated seeing Daniel and Camila absolutely and totally avoiding each other. The last time they were there, it was for their wedding.

cathyx--Have you seen the promos for that other guy in the charro suit? The one with those incredible, edible, indelible dimples?

Yes, and he's my other TN love. I might have to tune in to get an eyeful or two.

Anita, are you referring to Jorge Salinas in the upcoming Mejia TN? I keep seeing promo ads for it, but they plus a longer segment I saw somewhere have convinced me that even though I love Jorge Salinas and Arturo Peniche, I'm going to jump ship on this one and move over to Telemundo for El Señor de los Cielos (which has Rafael Amaya and also Vivi from AB). I'm hoping many folks will make the same decision.

I'm thinking that Dan is going to go stir crazy as the day wears on. While the Dion situation isn't rape, it's not truly consensual. When evening comes, what will Dan do? Remember that Dan is the man who beat down Leo for violating Luzma.

Natalia's no-show actions may thwart Isa's plans to be w/o people at BV, which may save Cayo's life. Still loving Mena's or Paquita's ref to Cayetano as "CayeTanDrogado." Too funny!

Anita, Daniel and Camila were not married in the town church; they were married in the chapel at La Malquerida.

I didn't even put together the connection between Aaron telling Rafa & Co. he had to leave for his community RIGHT!NOW!BEFORE NATALIA'S WEDDING! and Natalia/Luzma being with him.

Isadora is very arrogant and believes she is untouchable. Dionisio is the same way. This "I B Untouchable" attitude is what will lead to both of their downfalls.

I still don't think the BV Caporal left like he was told to.

I just wonder what's going to happen with Yago now.

Since Iagho hasn't done anything -- yet -- that the law can get him for, I think that El Diablo had the right idea about the contract he made him sign: Half his earnings to Natalia and the baby for the rest of his life. Maybe he will go back into the corridas and have a fatal accident. He will have to carry heavy-duty life insurance.

From what I got from the avances, Agustina does it and Miriam finds the pic.

What an utterly delightful moment, watching Amanda get the best of those two -- the big evil one and his still-redeemable protege. I just hope that all remain safe, particularly Hipolito. Dio and posse may be returning early from the non-wedding.

I was glad to see the three Albarran brothers together in the cause of taking care of their father.

Having watched novelas since 1995 (gosh, I feel old!), I have long been disappointed that when we get to the Ultimas Capitulos, the previews often fall off to a kind of montage of scenes. It KILLS me that we don't have a Monday preview! However, we had previews longer than used to be the case, so I'm grateful for that.

Poor Agustina. I wish that she and her two smart prison buddies could be out, letting loose on Dio and Isa. They could be a formidable trio! They have certainly seen the worst of men and the criminal justice system.

And Padre Anselmo. He's certainly right that Teresa and Dante need to take good care with regard to the baby and pregnancy and the future. He does, after all, foster a group of needy children. But he was a bit harsh on what was a joyous occasion for the parents -- who didn't seem to mind his crabbiness since they were lost in their own happiness.

Have fun, Jardinera. What an episode to recap! I think that all of the recappers are going to have a wild week.

Oh how I hated to see Aggie debase herself by begging that canalla. It's like begging Satan not to take you to hell. Olivia Bucio put on a Oscar performance, I must say.

I have a lot of faith in Hipolito, not so sure I buy the story about working for the locksmith though. Don't know how he is going to get around Omar & gang.

I was confused about the taxi in the caper, Hipo ran out, opened the back door, but when he ran away, he still had the briefcase. What was that about?

To our wonderful recappers, my, what a week you have had! Each one of you brings such a wonderful style to the nightly story. Thank you so much!

Is Dion a sociopath, psychopath, or a little bit of both? He is sickening. I wish Agustina could have had the strength to have said nothing...to just stand there and take in the garbage. It might have made Dion angrier and uglier, but he wanted the reaction he got from her and then some.

I'm sure it galled him that it was Agustina who asked for the divorce FIRST. Agustina who had the strength to want to dispose of this piece of human filth once and for all. Dion doesn't like that. Doesn't fit in with his control schemes.

Such a powerful scene in that jail. I found myself torn between Agustina's anguish and Dion truly unmasking himself and showing the depths of his sick mind.

Honestly, I'm not sure what fate he should have. He and Hissadora are cruel and cold in their own ways, but I think it is Dion who is the sicker of the two.

I still think Iago is a candidate for an STD (no, cathyx, I do NOT look ahead...this is my own thought however unfounded it may be). Would serve that jerk right.

Hissadora's reptilian outfits have made me laugh at times, but the little number she wore for the "wedding"...YIKES!!!

The Fair Maid Miriam wasn't exactly overjoyed to see Camila at the wedding, was she?

I will so miss this story and this great group of commenters/recappers.

Fatima

Yago can't be all bad, he is so sweet to Ana.

Loved the look on Amanda's face. Dio's was good also. He'll be plotting revenge. Also the look on Cayetano's face was good, his son is worthless.

I was confused about the taxi in the caper, Hipo ran out, opened the back door, but when he ran away, he still had the briefcase. What was that about?
------------------

Hipolito (with stuffed briefcase) took the cab to the market. Got out of the cab & went to the market.

Dio's thugs followed Hipolito to the market, called Omar & told him they followed the man (Hip) to the market.

Hipolito waited until they drove away, unzipped his jacket and gave Rodolfo the briefcase. He also took off his jacket & fake mustache.

They then left out of the back of the market & went to Osvaldo's.

Apparently the wedding had been delayed for a long, long time. That's why Padre Anselmo was pissed. The wedding had to be delayed so that everyone (Dio, Isa, Yago, etc) would be at the wedding and not back at Dio's house so Hipolito can break in and get the evidence.

Natalia is presumably with Aaron in the remote village in Chiapas.

I see a time jump next week.

Just one more note on Hipolito and the market. He came in as the florist. Omar was suspicious, so that they followed him when he left. He got out of the cab at the market -- appropriate for a florist. The henchmen let Omar know that he had gone back to the market and he said, fine, come back.

All this might suggest that Dio did not know that the briefcase heist was in process and was fooled by Nati's cleverly put request for the bachelor party to be at his house. He had simply taken the items out of the briefcase and hidden them elsewhere.

Or, he suspected that something was up and hid the documents elsewhere. And, maybe he was on to the heist. Knowing there was nothing in the briefcase, there was no need to follow Hipolito further.

I was glad to see the conversation yesterday about the producer bumping into Daniel on his way to the men's room. I figured that had to mean something. Again, nothing is wasted here.

UA--Thanks for correcting the location of the chapel Dan 'n Cam were married in. Still, it was a church and the last time they were in one was for their wedding.

Addendum for Vario--Hip probably knew he would be followed, after all, he stayed in the house longer than it would have taken to deliver flowers. Sure enough there were some of Dio's henchies watching him. Once they saw him staggering inside, they called Omar to tell him that it *was* a market guy and Omar told them they could return home.

Hip also looked back to see the black suv take off. He must have thought he still wasn't out of the woods, so he waited two more seconds before getting rid of the stuff. He handed off the clothes & mustache to a real market person and headed out the back.

Juanita--I don't know how long I'll stick with QBA. It's no LQNPA, that's for sure. It will surely be fast-paced and complicated. Never having seen the original La Hija del Mariachi, I have nothing to compare it to, so I'll give it a try, so's not to miss Jorge...don't care if he's too 'old' for the role.

Tks for the taxi explanation. Was the taxi waiting for Hipo or just happen by or part of the caper?

I noticed that Dio returned home during the party with a briefcase.

Cathyx I know it was a guess but suicide is such a no-no and Gussy such a good Catholic . . . Also I wanted her to be somewhat out of character like the baddies - if you are desperate NEVER harm yourself HARM others.

Variopinta - was that a briecase Dio had or his Victoria secret stuff for Cam? I thought it was the latter.

I'm hoping one of the preview scenes was Dio's imagination as it showed him nuzzling Cam's neck and she looked nauseous.

Thanks for part one Jardinera.

I'm not trying to ignore the obvious but if Dio is a lying liar who lies why would our poor heroine think her sleeping with him will release her mother? I know we've speculated on what he could possibly give to the police but we all know he's not doing a thing to possibly implicate himself. And hasn't Cam seen enough of his mess to realize even if she stayed with him for the rest of her life, she wouldn't see her mom?

Karen, you are right, Victorias Secret. He did lay it out & was fondling it. Pobre Camila, I wanted to barf.

Looks like Hipo is going to break in before Dio realizes anything is missing from the 1st job, so the place wont be under extra vigilance.

Yes Karen, you would think Osvaldo would advise her of this. They need proof not promises. But we know of course, it's not going to happen. Dan to the rescue.

Karen, it's a common staple in TNs that the good guys always believe the bad guy's lies. It drives me nuts. But this show hasn't followed that rule, so here's hoping they still don't.
Also, if you saw the preview of him nuzzling her neck and she has a look of disgust on her face, then it won't be a fantasy of his, just sayin'.

I think that as Dion gets closer to what he wants, Camila and MQ, then his sickness and weirdness are coming closer to the surface. Pretending that Camila was in the negligee was total perv. Good acting.

I also think that if Yago were going to have an STD, it would have come out before the wedding. It's not needed now for the wedding to get called off.

Actually, I wasn't think about the STD wrt the wedding. That's pretty much been a non-issue. Really more as a general punishment. He'd be getting off easy with Herpes. Syphilis is not common, but so very treatable, but then there is always the threat of HIV.

Iago has no regard for women...not even his own mother, so it might be a punishment to fit the bill.

Again...these are my musings and not a spoiler. It's kind of fun trying to guess the minds of the writers. I sure hope this bunch comes up with another novela very soon.

Fatima

Great part one!! I'm loving this winding down.

Please ... I do not wish any type of STD especially HIV on promiscuous Yago. It's scary thinking how many innocent non suspecting women he would infect.

I probably said this already, but I don't think that El Diablo even could spring Augustina from jail because of the nature of the charge. It's a Federal crime. He would not only have to get all the fleeced parties to retract their charges he would also have to turn himself in.

That would never happen. Not would it be likely to matter because I doubt that would spring Augustina.

Excellent point, UA. Agree.

Fatima

Gracias, Jardinera! I'm enjoying the recap so far. The Cami's cami fondling was, indeed, gross, but my breakfast stayed down just fine or I wouldn't have been able to scream "GROSS! Quit snogging it!" at the TV.

A great part 1, Jardinera. I think you're absolutely right about the scene with Dio and the black negligee: "(Viewerville fights to keep its supper down.)"

Speaking of the negligee, I'm glad some of the other commenters were more eagle-eyed than I was. I really did think that when Dio returned to Nati's party, he was carrying his Real Briefcase. I was surprised that no one at the party said anything (something calm like "Oh my god, we're dead!). But I just looked again, and sure enough, it's the bag with the newly purchased negligee.

I can't decide whether I'm even more of an old f*rt than I thought, but the dresses that Hissa and Teresa wore to the non-boda seemed to me outrageously inappropriate. If it was just Hissa, I wouldn't give it a second thought. It just shows her to be the puta that she is. But Teresa? Her dress barely extended down below her, um, whatever.

Thanks for part 1 Jardinera. Can't wait for the rest.
I was surprised that the camisole he bought was black. I would have thought he'd go for white or pink.

I'm with you Jardinera about the order of things with Dante and Teresa. I must be old fashioned, but I prefer the order to be, meet, fall in love, (Ok, you can have sex but with protection), get married, have children. But Viv and Rafa are adopting without being married also, so I guess the times they are a-changing. I understand that more people in the US are having children out of wedlock than in wedlock now.

oops, I meant negligee, not camisole.

Variopinta - Yes Osvaldo or someone from the Scooby crew telling Cam the real deal about Dio. She just seems hell-bent on making this sacrifice that will come to nothing.

Cathyx - you are right regarding the look on Cam's face and all I have to hold onto is TN #15 that the heroine usually only sleeps with her one-true-love. I also can't imagine the writers traumatizing us like that.

UA - its b/c you brought up how serious the crime was (and not being able to just undo it) that I asked. I know as Cathyx mentioned the good guys usually always believe the bad guys. Thankfully Dan will NEVER believe ANYTHING Dio says.

Most of it's up. The rest will go up by at least tomorrow AM. I really need a shower after writing this last part! Ugh! There's something wrong with the WP program on the blog so I apologize for the crazy font in parts.

The avances were screwy I agree. That's why I don't like watching them either. I checked the number of episodes and don't worry, there are going to be five more complete ones.

Back atchall later!

Cathyx, I'm not getting the family order of events either. Vivi is calling Aaron Cunado, she and Rafa are adopting, the child is calling Aaron Tio ... why avoid marriage when you're using all of the constructs? I also agree eith Jardinera sbout Dante and Teresa. If you're deciding that you will live together and raise the baby together, just get married.

Jardinera, good stuff. Love the thing about the briefcase being AWOL.

Since this is arguably one of the worst predicaments a novela heroine can be in, why is this happening yet again to Sylvia Navarro?

Juanita, I might add, Tere's shirt barely covered her whatevers on top too. I was sitting there thinking, she could just be wearing one large bandaide with one edge preventing the need for pasties and the other just covering a thong.
I am afraid that in a TN where the uncle rapes the niece, predictions for what is expected are not possible.

Good thing it is at the end or I would worry for Amanda after the look on Dio's face when she announced the non-boda. I thought Yago had the grace to look ashamed. His father, to me, almost looked like he was relieved that a nice girl was not marrying his scum of a son, but that must have been my misinterpretation, since the baby would be an "Albarron."

Cindy

Cayetano has previously send he will recognize the child no matter what Iagho does. Despite his delusions about Hissadora he seems to recognize that Natalia is a "good" girl and would have liked her for a daughter-in-law.

If she disowned the devil, of course.

Great part 2. I feel for you having to write about all that depraved action. But I love how he said all the things that get our blood curdling. Great writing and acting. Lobocito is ready to come out and play. Yuck!

About Teresa's clothing, maybe she wants to flaunt what she's got until she can't anymore.

I thought a sweet scene was when Camila gave Hipolito a hug to thank him for what he's about to do, and it took him by surprise. He had such a surprised/appreciative look on his face at that moment.

Officially on the lookout for anything "from the writers of Amor Bravio" - they MUST be working on something!

Marthita Carrillo made the adaptation from two previous TN (De pura sangre y En los cuernos del amor).

Oh my! Absolutely fantastic parts 1 & 2 Jardinera. Thanks for taking one for the team and giving us all the dirty details of the scene between Dion and Gussy: "The disturbed factor is off the charts at this point. I need a bath! Even Scrubbing Bubbles won’t be good enough to get this kind of slime off!" ITA!

But that was really an award winning scene by two amazing vet actors. Bravo to Cesar and Olivia!

I think that was an evening dress Dion bought, not a camisole/lingerie. He also took out some jewelry out of a safe deposit box in his office to go along with it. Since we have been speculating about where Dion might have moved his passports, that caught my eye, and I wondered if the writers also wanted us to take note.

Even if Hip gets back into the office, he would likely not be able to break into a safe/lockbox. And he has a high probability of getting caught in the office this time if/when Dion comes back early from the non-wedding. Please, don't let him get hurt! Piedad would then have a missing daughter (we know she took off with Nat); murderous rapist brother on the loose; a hurt (dead?) fiancé; and the threat of breast cancer hanging over her head. Yikes!

Loved the ending, and can't wait for your take on Amanda's crowning (and crowing) moment. And we get more of it next episode too. Oh goody!

One correction: The gang met and opened the briefcase in Osvaldo’s office. Not MQ.

Pablo- Actually, En Los Cuernos del Amor was a new/original story by Martha, not based on a previous story. So the first half of AB was a remake of Pura Sangre, and the second half mostly Los Cuernos.

As for the question of the good guys believing the bad guys, I think they all know Dion is a lying liar who lies. No one but Camila is even considering that she should give in to him-- not just because it's gross and debasing, but also because they don't believe him. But as someone pointed out earlier this week, if Camila thinks there's even a sliver of a chance of getting her mom out, then she'll take it. But she's going through the effort of exhausting ALL other possibilities to sink Dion first. Now there is also the question of keeping Dan safe/alive. If he insists on staying in Mexico, that will continue to be a threat Dion can hold over her.

Thanks, ViviDC! Changed!

Why do TNs have so many interrupted weddings? Rhetorical question, because even without the drama, the answer is obvious. The vows don't have to be completed (or even begun) for the wedding to achieve its main purpose--wonderful clothes! Even without a bride...

Because, after all, what else would get Daniel back in a charro suit while he's still with Miriam? Or get her into a dress not suitable for a 1950s housewife?

I'm not sure what I thought of Vivi's dress; it is an interesting variation on her usual style. But I can understand Camila covering up, with Dionisio's demands hanging over her like a dark cloud. (And actually I'd like to have her jacket to teach in. I collect long jackets. But it would be better with trousers.)

But of all the outfits I probably liked Pablo's best. That boy can rock a charro suit, and I love the way the color of the tie and trim picks up on the golden streaks in his hair. Iago didn't look nearly as special, and unfortunately Cayetano demonstrates how unforgiving this kind of outfit is. I'm wondering if the actor playing Mariano refuses to wear a tie, since the lack thereof spoils his outfit and doesn't seem to fit with his character.

Rocio should not have gone with the frilly blouse--or perhaps we're to assume that she overindulged in Miriam's cookies and couldn't fit in the dress she planned to wear? And Rafa and Dionisio (funny to mention those two in one breath) look so drab in their business suits compared to the rest of the male cast.

I wish Dante and Teresa would--at least briefly--consider him moving to Mexico, rather than her moving to Chile. She just got a great job offer--their professional situations appear to be at least comparable.

I cannot imagine criticizing Agustina for her reaction to Dionisio. He was so horrifically cruel in that sense, so utterly disgusting. In her shoes I probably would have lost it much worse. Sobbing? I would have been gibbering in rage.

UtahDesert- Thanks for bringing up the wedding fashions. I agree with most of your Fashion Police commentary. :)

I loved Cami's winter white jacket too, but I also loved the black pencil skirt that was just the perfect length for the jacket. Clean lines, and looked really good on her. She wore black and white to PabLuz's wedding too-- black, short, strapless dress, with the shock of white peeking out on top and at one part of the hem. Remember the steamy love scene later when Dan insisted on taking it off her? *sigh*

Amanda was in all black. Sexy, but also a good strong look for confronting Dion and Yago.

Miriam needed that pink to soften the hard look on her face when she spotted Camila. But wouldn't Dan's black and silver charro suit look much better next to Camila's black and white outfit? I think she also had silver detailing on her belt.

I know... so this is the adaptation of her own original work and another TN... right?

Pablo- Yep. A mix of old and new. I think for the most part she made it work pretty well.

Gracias Jar,

I understand Teresa y Dante more than Vivi Y Rafa.

T & D have only had sex once, they are not in love yet, so living together is a good idea. If it doesn't work, less messy than a divorce.

Vivi & Rafa love each other. I'm sure they will marry.

Carlos Moreno Laguillo, the producer is working on Aroma de lobos. A remake of Imperio de Cristal. 2 of the cast are Cristian de la Fuente & Leticia Calderon. It will be after Mentir para Vivir.

If Hipo was a good locksmith, he can get into that safe. Was it key or combo?

I think what Teresa and Dante are planning is much more sensible than getting married right away. It also seems to me truer to life and less like a telenovela. Instead of "forcing marriage" as a result of getting pregnant, with all the resentment and tensions that can create, they're 1) promising that they will maintain at least a friendship while cooperating to raise their child, and 2) deciding to go ahead and live together because they like each other that much, in order to see how that goes.

Variopinta- Looked like it was a combo safe (I heard him push a few buttons quickly), not a lock. Maybe Hip has other hidden talents as a safe cracker? LOL! The man can do everything else.

UtahDesert and Variopinta- ITA about Teresa and Dante. It made sense to me too, not to get tied up legally and religiously (if it were a Church wedding) until they know they work as a couple. There's no going back on the co-parent part. They have to make that part work. Poor Padre looked like his head was about to blow. He had reached his liberal-minded limit with that. I think mainly because it has to do with his little sister, more than anything else. Tere just looked amused by his reaction. Poor Dante looked worried. It's got to be a bit intimidating to tell your new girlfriend’s big brother, who just happens to be a priest, that you knocked up his little sister and plan to live with her "in sin" to try things out. :)

Vivi is just being stubborn about the marriage thing at this point. I hope by the end she finally says yes.

Jardinera - Muchas gracias!

In the past Dio told Amanda she was "nothing," just as he did to Gussie last night. Loved seeing "nothing" Amanda stick it to Dio with a no-show wedding.

Thank you, Jardinera, for a fabulous, detailed recap! Loved all the clarity you brought to this difficult episode.

I told myself halfway throught the epi that this is the "darkest before the dawn" episode. It was painful to watch! I guess they have to bring us to our lowest so we can appreciate all the good stuff at the end. Like in that horrible Auggie/Dio scene, I kept telling myself maybe we will get a scene next week w Dio behind bars and Auggie in all her purple finery paying him a visit! I want him behind bars more than I want him dead. He's always been such a facade, acting like he's above the law, and I think for a sociopath like him, coming to terms with the fact he's a common crook would be his worst fate.

I've always loved the word "jamas", and when Amanda said it at the end of her wedding speech it gave me chills. I hope that FABULOUS speech was a taste of things to come next week.

A lot is ear marked for "after the boda":

Lab results
Camila sleeping w Dio
Hissy killing Caye

Just another Saturday night at the MQ!!!

Thanks again, Jardinera!

Katy

I love the idea of Aggie visiting Dio behind bars. Hopefully she can give him some of humiliation he gave her.

Great Part 2, Jardinera. We're now in the grandest moments, the last act, the final confrontations. We still have Leoncerdo's last stand to think about as well. That should be spectacular.

May El Diablo's final fate be the worst humiliation ever. Let it include Alonso's problem.

Just confirming: Thurs and Fri's eps are considered the Gran Finale, not just Friday's.

UA: if there is a duet in opera, is it considered an aria? I've always thought of arias as being great solo moments.

It's a duet.

See you guys tomorrow. I'll be out for a while at the Film Forum, but won't be out late.

UA: thanks. Thought the guy on the radio called it an aria. Must have been dreaming.

Be interested to know what you see at the FF.

Aroma de Lobos. Scent of wolves?!

CME and AB are my favs. Since he was involved with both, I'm very much looking forward to any of his TNs.

I'm going to see House of Wax in 3D. It's the old Vincent Price film. Last night I saw the 3D Jurassic Park. The 3D work on it was passable, but nothing like The Hobbitt.

I get to pick up where Amanda left off in this episode and that is an amazing scene. I have to wonder what revenge El Diablo will cook up for that bit of public humiliation, although that would be difficult because anyone who is present in that scene would suspect him if anything happens to Amanda.

Yay! I got the screwy formatting corrected.

I just got CME from Amazon, since everyone has raved about it. I hope it's not too chopped, it is 12 hrs.
I missed it on TV, the time wasn't convenient. Silvia is my favorite.

Dio is too busy with his other "projects" to have time to cook up anything for Amanda & she will be looked after. At least Nat & Luz are safe.

Jardinera- Thanks so much for part 3. It was great to relive that final scene. Bwahahaha. Take THAT Dion!

Yeah, not so smart for Eleuterio and Rod to get drunk on the job, when Leon is on the loose. Eleu said something like: “Grieve today; mourn tomorrow; find someone new the day after tomorrow.” But of course Rod can’t think of anyone else except Nat.

I thought Leon said “mi Luzmita”; I didn’t hear anything about a biznieta/o. Did the captions get confused?

It was funny when Miriam asked how this happened when Dante and Teresa announced their baby news, and Dante asked her if she really wanted him to explain the mechanics/how. LOL!

It was good to see the thee Albarran brothers together and united about their father, and then later all of them with Ana heading to the church. They just need to root out that vibora Isa, and reintegrate Rocio. Other than being humiliated by being dumped at the altar and exposed as a spineless jerk who was bought by Dion, I really don’t need to see anything bad happen to Yago. I want him to make peace with his family and to be a real part of it, without the resentments towards Pablo and his mother.

Thanks for the last part Jardinera.

I thought the same thing about Eleuterio and Rodolfo getting their drunk on. They will not be in any condition to defend MQ.

Can't wait for Isa and Caye coming back to BV and Leoncio spoiling Isa's fun. How will that acid be used? In the drink or spilled on her. I'm personally hoping for in her drink.

I'm also hoping that along with proof of Dion's guilt, Hipolito also takes that negligee.

As I expected/hoped/knew, you've done a wonderful part 3, Jar! It clarified several scenes for me, especially with the Albarran brothers talking about Cayetano. And I also appreciated the vocab. And also your calling into question "bisnieta." I was very puzzled when I heard that. Vivi said she heard "mi Luzmita," and I think she's right. I just took a look at Gato Viejo's transcript. The Spanish has "la bisnieta" but the English says "Luzmita." How many times does that happen, with the English being more accurate than the Spanish??

Needless to say, I loved your way with words, esp. "tubby old hubby" (perfect, especially for the way he looked that day) and Dio "mentally measuring his ex for a pair of cement high-heels."

Cindy, I loved your description of Teresa's, um, dress: "I was sitting there thinking, she could just be wearing one large bandaide with one edge preventing the need for pasties and the other just covering a thong."

Katy said: "I told myself halfway throught the epi that this is the "darkest before the dawn" episode." I hope you're right, Katy, but I fear you're not. With five episodes left, I would bet that there will still be some screwups before the Good Guys fully triumph. Mind you, I haven't seen any of the upcoming episodes, but five days of unmitigated happiness seems a bit much. Of course, the writers have broken with lots of other TN traditions, so perhaps they will in this respect, too, but I'm not counting on it.

Did anyone else notice that Yago eyed up Vivi and said a flirty hello to her as he walked by her in front of the church? On his wedding day! In front of her man who was standing right there, and his own family! The boy has no shame.

I remember Yago giving Vivi the eye quite awhile ago, she gave him the cold shoulder. I can't remember the occasion.

Variopinta- He did it at PabLuz's wedding too. He flirted with her, asked her to dance, and she then told him her BOYFRIEND (Rafa who was sitting right there) wouldn't like that much.

Jardinera,

Wow! What a big job and so well done, from your description of Gussie's sad groveling and humiiation to the simple statement: Amada does blunt well!

Variopinta -- just thinking that if next (for me, Telemundo's Senor del cielo, I think it's called) flops, I will watch CME on line. I so loved La Mentira that I just couldn't watch CME, but the raves of all have been really convincing and I love both SN and Juan Soler.

I think that Leo thought Luzmita, but remind me, does he know that she lost the baby? I am thinking yes but can't remember for sure. Thank you.

Traveling Lady, I so loved CME. I'm sure you will like it, too. SN and Juan Soler were great. I was taken aback, at first, at Soler's character and didn't like him much in the beginning, but that man has a mega watt smile and is a good dancer, too!

I don't have Telemundo and narco stories are not up my alley, so I won't' "see" you at that novela.

Enjoy CME online.

I also love the theme song by Enrique Iglesias and Juan Luis Guerra. Guerra is an incredibly talented musician from the Dominican Republic. He is a grad of the prestigious Berkelee School of Music in Boston where he was awarded and honorary doctorate. He is also a multiple Latin Grammy and Grammy award winner. That CME theme song just makes me happy!

Fatima

Yeah. He knows that she lost the baby. They told him in prison.

I will be watching both Senor de los Cielos and QBA (I will join the recapping team for at least the beginning). My dvr is going to be very busy soon. :)

CME was so long and so complex with the different locations. The will have a LOT to cut out to make it fit into 12 hours. Fina was a great villain. I hope they manage to get most of her villainous scenes in, especially her turn as a nun. LOL! And the scenes between SN and JS are wonderful. They had a much more explosive relationship than Cam-Dan, but also some wonderful fun/playful chemistry. I'm sure with so little time, whole characters had to be cut out of the dvd. I hope Super Laz didn't get cut. :)

Jardinera thanks for part 3 and sorry you got slimed w/Dio's trash talk in part 2.

What is the other SN tn where her father/step-father makes an indecent proposal?

Thanks Jardinera, very well done. My favorite line was this last:

"And Dio? He is mentally measuring his ex for a pair of cement high-heels."

I've really gotten a kick out of Dionysio. He struts and gloats wonderfully, but he really has tried to squeeze too much fun into one day. Now with the wedding not going quite according to plans, this is bound to have an impact on his anticipated close encounter with Camila.

Since it seems inevitable, I'm eager to see what exactly he has planned for the evening. What's for dinner? Maybe keep it light... caviar and Champagne? Or perhaps a robust meal worthy of a man of such substance? Lambchops or quail would seem appropriate and of course oysters. Strawberries dipped in dark chocolate?

Will there be candles? Yes of course...zillions of candles and then a trail of rose petals with a giant rose petal heart on the bed.

For Camila, I think all that she will need is a simple elegant finely honed narrow dagger strapped unobtrusively to her inner thigh.

Carlos

Jar. Loved the recap. Thanks so much.

I, too, thought it not smart that Eleutario and Rodolfo were drinking. Hopefully, it's all about Nat and not something they are going to use re: Leo.

Did Leo say something about Ana when he saw her? I thought he did.

Fatima: I have the CME theme song as my ringtone, now. Love it.

Carlos: "For Camila, I think all that she will need is a simple elegant finely honed narrow dagger strapped unobtrusively to her inner thigh."--I would hope so, but she won't think of it. All the other Scoobies would.

UA: House of Wax in 3D sounds cool. I love Vincent Price. One of my fav roles for him wasn't a "monster" role, though. It was his turn in Laura.

I'd like to verify that the Grand Finale is Thurs' and Fri's ep and not just Fri's.

Also, forgot to e-mail the HPLP list to myself. Will post it as soon as I can tomorrow.

Nanette

Also, Isa is kind of making it obvious that she wants the ranch empty for the night. That's going to be very suspicious looking if Caye dies. I would think, there would definitely be an investigation of some sort, anyway.

Carlos- LOL to your whole comment. :)

Nanette- Yes, Thursday and Friday are the gran final. I wonder how splitting it up into the two days will interrupt the flow of the episode.

ViviDC: Thanks again and know that the appropriate changes were made. I did the final part in the wee hours and couldn't understand Eleutario's slang for anything in the world, let alone the CC was chopped up like crazy throughout much of this episodio.

Thanks to all for taking time to read and comment as always! I feel I'm running out of steam more often than not these days when recapping all this heavy duty conversation. They've been packing so much exciting stuff into these last couple of weeks it becomes a bit frustrating, though I love it when they do cus there are fewer untied loose ends and dead-ended plot lines that way. Oh well.....

Thanks, Jardinera, for a fabulous recap...as always. So many great lines. My fave, like Carlos, is the cement high-heels for Dio's ex.

I also nearly gagged several times throughout the show at Dio's pompous behavior and completely inflated opinion of himself. His treatment of Gussie was horrible, but she irritated me with her begging Dio to leave her hija alone. Does she still not get that Dio is pure, unadulterated evil, and does precisely what makes other miserable?

Enhorabuena, Amanda! She was fantastic. Just the right amount of snark with not one ounce of nerves. Loved it!

Yes, Yago has flirted with Vivi before, and it was on an occasion where she was taking pictures. I can't remember what the occasion was, though.

Looking forward to Isa's payback big time. Just hope Cayo manages to stay alive to see it all go down.

Nanette: I suppose Issa could always say Cay Ai Yippee! Cayo's ol' pump couldn't make it through the last hump. =/ ; > }

Yago flirted with Vivi the first time during the party for the bull- he took her to that room where they could watch the bulls at eye level and he took a pic of her with his camera phone while she was taking pics of the bull, then he drooled over his camera pic for a while; next he flirted with her at PabLuz's wedding, as I mentioned earlier- even winking at her as Nat sat right next to him in the church pews! This time he said a slimy hello just to her as he passed by her, Rafa and Cami in front of the church. Patan!

Jardinera--Brilliant work. Now on to part II, a delicious dessert you've whipped up for us. Company is about to descend on me, so of *all* weeks this one had to be it (and the Cherry Blossoms are at their peak, too). I will have to watch AB out of my right eye while I keep in contact with the visiting folks with my left eye.

Vario--One suggestion for watching the chopped up version of CME--Read the recaps as you go along so you'll know what was left out. Be sure to look at the cast line-up at the beginning of the series and the character descriptions (see Cuando recap feed).

The comments are truly a wonderful addition, but then you'll never finish the 12 hours in even 24. I was disappointed that they left out some of Juan & Silvia's best canoodling before they got really mad at each other. But the make up was worth the wait.

OMG, there's a part III. Is this the cordial to go with dessert?

Tks for the suggestions on CME.

Carlos, is that anvil for Dio?

Thanks Vivi.

Jar, you totally cracked me up!!!

Anita: good idea re: watching CME or any TN on disc. However, as other people have noted before, the DVDs are best for people who have seen the whole novela and want to revisit for highlights.

Vario: I think if it's possible, it might be better to watch it on YouTube and then use your DVDs for a trip down memory lane. This TN was awesome and deserves a full eps viewing.

I don't think the flow of the finale episode will be affected. One of the things that novela producers have to plan for is the fact that different networks in will not necessarily air the series in one-hour segments nor air the finale the same way.

OT: The 3D of Jurassic Park was a lot more like House of Wax than The Hobbitt. It does enhance the film, but it's a shame they couldn't make it a little more intense.

Variopinta, it's anviltime. I think it was Diana who once said it well:

"The anvils are blowing in the breeze."

So let's head'em up...move'em out.

Carlos

Carlos: I'm laughing out loud about your picture. So apropos.

Perhaps I should change mine back to The Execution of Lady Jane Grey to keep in the spirit.

OT: the pic I'm using now is my favorite painting. Hanging in LACMA.

Carlos: A few raw hides would not be out of the question for those who've failed to escape the flailing long arm of the law till now. And, I'd have to agree that Amanda has demonstrated mastery of the technique.

Jardinera, You always put so much thought and so much fun in your recaps! You never disappoint. I too giggled at the Scrubbing Bubbles remark. And the cement high heels comment captured Dionisio's expression perfectly!

I haven't had a chance to comment recently but I've enjoyed each and every recap and appreciate the dedication. My favorite description of the week was Mena's “The Perpetually Distraught and Distracted Dan". So true! LOL!

I really like how Teresa just walked into Dante's room and announced her pregnancy. No preamble, no apologies, no attitude, no demands. Good for her.

UtahDesert, "I wish Dante and Teresa would--at least briefly--consider him moving to Mexico, rather than her moving to Chile. She just got a great job offer--their professional situations appear to be at least comparable." I agree!

I think we were supposed to see Yago softening in his attitude with his mother. Usually he has had a cow (or is it a bull?) every time Rocio has talked to him or has even been mentioned to Yago since her "disgrace". In this last encounter, Yago was pretty calm.

I try to restrain myself about Gussie. Sometimes I just can't! Gussie has nothing to reproach herself for in regards to her mothering history as far as I can see. She may not be a genius, but she never caused her daughters harm. This whole "mothers who know how to be mothers" is way over the top.

Also, I'm not sure how I feel about the mom that took the rap for her son who killed his friend by accident. Though we don't know all the details and we are talking about the Mexican justice system--if it had happened in the U.S., I might be of the opinion she was not doing her son a favor by taking the blame for him.

If we can figure out that Natalia is likely with Aaron, doesn't it seem likely that Dioniso could think of that as well?

I am going to guess that Gussie was a good mother to her daughters when they were children. Both girls were conceived in love although I can't figure out what she said to them about Francisco after he left her. I often wonder what went wrong with Ximena that she became what she was, but many TNs seem to promote the idea that personality is genetic, which I refuse to believe.

Having said that, Gussie did put El Diablo before her daughters when she married him and was very hostile toward Camila's relationship with Daniel. She was hostile to it from the beginning and interfered in it against Camila's expressed wishes/orders when Miriam arrived.

I do agree with you, though, about the mother who took the rap for her son. This is not right no matter what. If the shooting was accidental that was beyond unnecessary.

If personalities were genetic then Dan would have turned out like FX too. Ximena was the way she was because that was her personality. Gussy might have been able to change or temper that had she set limits for her and expected/demanded that she do more with her life. Instead, she let her run wild in Monterrey, sent her money, and didn't demand that Xi do something with her life in return. A kid like Cami really didn't need limits, but a kid like Xi did. But in the end Gussy can't blame herself for the way Xi's life ended. She was an adult and made her own choices. As Cami said, she had all she needed to be happy- intelligence, looks, etc. But Xi chose not to see all her blessings.

I must disagree about genetics playing a part in personality. I believe it does, but environment does too. Dan had 2 parents, and Agatha sounds like she was a wonderful caring person and Dan probably takes after her. Ximena probably took after her father.

I've known too many people who do seem to have inherited certain personality traits for it not to occur. And why wouldn't it, we inherit so many other traits from our ancestors, personality has to be one too. They certainly have bred personality traits in and out of animals. But like I said earlier, environmental factors are also important, and both are what makes us so unique.

Cathyx- I guess I would say that genetics plays a part in our tendencies, but environment is the biggest shaper of personality. FX is sly, for example. Nurtured in the right way this trait could enhance intelligence. In the wrong way, it could enhance criminality. So in my mind, it's not the criminality that is inherited. It's the underlying trait that is then shaped by personality, which is shaped by environment, that makes the real difference. Laying the blame on genetics would write off way too many kids I grew up with. Kids I know we're smart, clever, sharp, empathetic, but then let their environment and the expectations of the people around them influence them to make bad life choices.

Daniel is a good person, like the mother who raised him alone. So are Natalia and Luzma. Two out of three of them were better off for it.

We don't know a lot about Luzma's father, but I got the idea that he wasn't a bad person. He certainly would have protected her from Leoncerdo.

Can't wait to see what happens to him.

Gussie married Dionisio against Camila's preferences just as Camila married Daniel against Agustina's wishes. As both Camila and Gussie are adults, each had the right to pick their own partners despite the wishes of their family.

As family, both Camila and Gussie might be expected to stick their nose into each others business to the extent their relationship could tolerate it. To some this is not right but it is certainly common.

Of course, as we know, Camila was right about Dionisio. Gussie about Dan--not so much.

I also found Gussie's attempt at making Dionicio "the man of the house" completely wrong because the property did not belong to her. It was completely wrong for her to expect Camila to cede authority to him over her rightful inheritance. It's one thing to marry someone against the wishes or preferences of one's family but quite another to expect one's adult daughters to knuckle under to a stepfather they suspect married their mother for ulterior motives.

That is the main thing she has to answer for.

U/A, I agree that Gussie was wrong to think Dionisio had any right whatsoever to appear as head of the house when she married him.

I think to say that Gussie expected Camila to "knuckle under" to Dioniso is incorrect. Gussie was trying to make Dio happy and thought Dio's management of the ranch was a solution to Alonso's leaving that could make Camila's life easier as well (though I do know she was thinking more about Dio than Camila). I don't think Agustina felt there was any "knuckling under" to be done. She thought it could be a win-win situation for all! Wrong!

Which points to her naivete about him and her lack of consideration for how Camila would take this. Her brain must have been perpetually working at half speed.

I think that except for Camila's relationship with Luis Gussie had disapproved of Camila's life choices. Being a large-animal veterinarian is certainly not a traditionally female occupation and while it may not be usual for a woman to run a ranch it would certainly not be unheard of. Women run businesses all the time and many are better at it than the men they know.

Camila had every right to choose her own administrator or do the job herself. Augustina had no right to interfere in that and Camila was well within her rights to be angry.

Great lists as always Nanette! These two made me laugh:

“Cam continuously refuses to spit in Dio’s face.”

“Eleutario and Rodolfo are on the way to getting sh**tfaced.”
LOL!

It's the age old battle between two world views of women's roles. Gussie wanted a man in charge and did not agree with her BIL's decision. She never morally had the right to decide or pull rank on Cam using emotional blackmail the way she did. I do believe Gussie knew what she was doing in going along with Dio about this. Cam was legally declared manager of the ranch. Period. Gussie steamrolled her daughter selfishly and is paying the price now for that emotional blackmail. Whether it was diabolical Dio or any other man Gussie married, she'd have done the same thing IMHO. That's why the tn gods put her in prison now.

Cam supposedly has only two options left in the management of this rancho: sacrifice herself or her mother. Actually, she might have a third. I think Cam should turn the tables on Dio and make him put his money where his big mouth is. After all, she's got more power over him than she realizes. After all, he's the one creaming his shorts, not her. Play the dude till he gives in to her demands. Make him believe she's really interested, tease him unmercifully and hold back till he lets Gussie go "as a gesture of good faith". Put a wire on and tape him; then go to the police with black charges. What's she got to lose at this point?

Oops, blackmail charges.

Jardinera- I like you're idea better than the one I suggested of Cam putting the dopey drops in Dio's drink. She might get in trouble for that. Unfortunately for both of our suggestions, Cam can't keep her vomit down long enough to play along like she actually wants the old perv. :)

Jardinera, she should have been wearing the wire last week when he refused to talk in the hacienda and insisted on going out into the garden. That horse is out of the corral.

As I wrote that I realized that he had two motives for that shopping trip:

-- Getting something very Frederick's of Hollywood to tart Camila up
-- Forcing her to change clothes eliminates any risk to him that she is wearing a wire, particularly as she is supposed to put this thing on in order to take it off.

I think Camila is too honest and too pure of heart to be able to pull off what you suggest. I am less virtuous than she is and I couldn't do it. I don't think even Ximena could have done that.

Nanette,
Thanks so much for HP/LP. Always a HP of the new week!
One small clarification, don't know if it will figure in the gran final, but you have as a low point that Agustina will be sentenced next week. There have been a number of references that her trial [juicio] will be next week, not the sentencing.
Huge thanks to all recappers! for help in untangling this complicated TN.
Clara

Clara: thanks for catching that. I thought I read that she was being sentenced, which makes no sense, if you think about it, since she hasn't even had a trial.

Thanks everyone for the comments on the lists.

I was wondering whether Luz and Nat told Amanda that Luz was going with Aaron, too (I'm assuming she went with Nat). I hope so. That way Amanda can tell Piedad that she's safe.

Nanette - Thanks for HP/LP.

I had forgetten Miriam heard Dan call Cam “mi Camila” when he got off the phone with her. When Miriam finally knows the truth, it certainly shouldn't be a "shock" with all the clues she's been given.

Fav Low Points:
Mariano calls to warn Isa that Leo has escaped. Dude, stop interfering.
Isa gets Caye to sign the new will.
Dio’s disgusting , and rather disturbing, moment with the dress he bought for Cam.
Dio tells Agustina the truth about how he feels about her and what he’s going to do to Cam. No anvil too large for this one.

Fav Hi Pts.:
Amanda gets the well-deserved honor of telling Dio and Yago—in front of everybody—that there will be no wedding.
Isa’s doom is fast approaching with a knife and acid toting Leo.
Yago finally gets it that something is wrong with his dad.
Nat doesn’t care that she’s setting her dad up.
