Amores Verdaderos #108 Fri 4/12/13 Besame, Besame Mucho, Como Si Fuera Esta Noche La Ultima Vez

Anyballs Won't Accept the Truth:

We start this epi with Pau and Anyballs. Anyballs is pithed that Pau has told him he has another daughter, floating around somewhere out there, and that Pau knows who she is. He thinks she is lying her butt off and that this daughter doesn't exist. He wants to know who she is. Pau won't tell him. Pau thinks that Anyballs wouldn't acknowledge her and make her miserable just like he did to Pau. Pau tells Anyballs that she is going to tell said daughter who her real Papa is and if said daughter wants to contact him she will. Anyballs is pithed! Pau is sick and tired of the way Anyballs treats people. Look what he did to Adri! He can't beleive she would dare do this. He treated her so well!!!!! But he just knew this was never going to work out. She tells him she was in love with a pig! He warns her to stop with her lies or else. He'll take her apartment if she lets anything that is private out. She tells him basically to stuff it and he can't take her apartment away, it's hers! He warns her one last time that if she keeps messing with him, she'll regret it and he goes. Pau is pithed!

Little Orchid and the Makeout Session:
Little Orchid and Roller Boy are on the sofa makin' out. He wants to plant his dirty seeds but Little Orchid doesn't want that. He tells her to relax and keeps kissing her. There is a removal of Little Orchid's shirt, we on the Patio are screaming at Little Orchid not to do this, and Gringo is yelling the loudest! Unfortunately, Little Orchid can't hear us. Little Orchid stops him again and tells him she just can't, her parents could just walk in, she doesn't live here alone! Roller Boy doesn't care, lets just get busy, er not that, but you get the drift. He removes her outer shirt. More kissing. Little Orchid does have on her little T-shirt. He is bound and determined to have Little Orchid, and she finally tells him, she is afraid, never done this before, in other words she uses the V word. That's right she's a Virgin. She swears it's the truth! He decides they won't be doing it after all, and hey when she "sorts through this problem" give him a ringy dingy, hands her a chocolate, ya know the ones he brought her, and goes. Little Orchid eats her chocolate, and Roller Boy glances back at the door. He is so not beleiving she is a Virgin, but darn it he likes her so much! He is about to go in again, changes his mind and goes.

Father and Child Reunion:
Chris is coming into her building when she runs into Anyballs. She is sooo happy to see him as he is her. She is happy to see he is well and she is happy that Ms Vikki is ok too. Anyballs tells her he's glad everyone is ok, it was hard to go thru this, imagine if it had happened to Lili. Cris gets sad and it shows. Anyballs asks if she is ok? She tells him that even though her Mama took excellent care of her, she wishes she'd had her Papa around too, she missed that. Anyballs thinks her feeling are right and then Cris asks if his girls, Ms Vikki and Adri, miss their Mama, of course they do, Ms Vikki even stopped playing the piano when her Mama died. Cris asks him if he ever wanted a son. Maybe, he tells her. They smile and what a coinky dink, they are standing in the place where they first met. So much has happened since that first meeting. As a matter of fact if she had her choice she wishes she had a Papa like him!!! If she only knew. He kinda likes that, gives her a hug and kiss on the forehead and she knows he is busy and won't keep him any longer, he goes while she stands there and waves bye, bye to him!

FF and the DVD:
FF and Salsero are in the office and FF gets a call from Kendho. Salsero thinks to himself she doesn't miss a chance. She is always in the FF's head. She only called to say I love you, er, to see how his day is going. It's fine , he'll see her laterz and hangs up. She tosses her phone and is pithed that FF hasn't seen that little DVD she sent him. Salsero thinks she's shamless and now the DVD is playing and at first the FF is kinda puzzled, but then the fog in his brain clears and he sees his wife and the Angel doin' that naughty dance and he just can't beleive it! His wife and that jerk. Cara de impactada de FF!

Ms Vikki's Partay Continues:
Tomi has come to join the girlz in Ms Vikki's bedroom. We have Josie (Jocelyn), Doris, Adri and now Tomi. Josie is drinking that green drink, (Note: If you watched any of LVO you would remember seeing Yolanda drink this every chance she got). Here comes the Angel and they drag him into the room and try to press that green drink on him. He so doesn't wanna be drinking, he is on duty, but they say it's ok. Josie even tries to give him kissy poohs, and Ms Vikki has to tell her to stop, she is making the Angel uncomfortable, but we on the Patio can see the sparks of jealousy just blazing out of Ms Vikki's eyes, and the Angel is tossed on the bed with Josie on top of him, when Ruh, Roh, we have a Partay Interruptus! The FF has arrived!

I Am The Furry Fornicator And I Will Be Obeyed:
FF wants everyone to go now! He wants to talk with his wife alone and boy is he ever rude, to everyone! Ms Vikki isn't too pleased, she is so done talking with him, but he insists and the ladies leave. Angel wants to go too, but this also involves the Angel. Angel so doesn't want to stay but the FF is making him. FF is pithed and asks which one of them started the affair first, Angel or Ms Vikki? Ms Vikki is pithed and won't take part in his sick little game. Now FF says they will listen to him. He pops that DVD in and it's that dancing scene again. Ms Vikki is looking so guilty and the Angel is way embarrassed. Ms Vikki is humilated and tells the FF so. Angel and Ms Vikki try to explain what happened, you know the notes, each expecting their spouse to be there, they were step up! FF isn't buying it, especially with the strip tease going on. FF wants to know what would happens to the Balvanera image if this DVD, accidently on purpose, were to be revealed to the world! The chantaje (blackmail) begins but not for the pasta(moola, benjamins) he is calling the shots now and she'll do what FF says. He turns to the Angel and starts to say something and stops dead in his tracks. You see the Angel has some chantaje of his own if he cares to use it. The FF just shuts up! Ms Vikki protests and says they were set up and they have nothing to feel guilty about! The Angel swears on his daughter Lili that nothing happened. Ms Vikki reminds ole FF that if he releases this DVD it will hurt him as well as her. FF isn't buying it, it's the strip tease of course and now Ms Vikki will do exactly what the FF wants, he will be obeyed! He wants the Angel out of there. No more Angel for Ms Vikki.

Salsero Talks to the Kendho:
Salsero calls Kendho and tells her she's won this one, the FF is fuming! He saw the DVD and of course Kendho is happy. Salsero tells her if she wanted Ms Vikki and the FF to fight, that is happening. Oh, noes, she doesn't want a fight, she wants the FF to marry her before her bebe is born. She has to go now, cause she is making a gift for her future step daughter and click. Oh, noes, what is she gonna do now? Salsero has a little convo to himself and says that Kendho is despicable and that she may want a father for her brat, but don't mess with him and Betty. Salsero does feel bad for Ms Vikki and the Angel that they will have to take the blame for this DVD. We are yelling on the Patio, for shame Salsa Dude, For Shame!!!!!

Pau Tells The Truth:
Cris has come to visit Pau. It seems Pau has something really important to tell her, and Cris immediately thinks it has to do with the Angel. No, not that Pau tells her, but about Cris herself. Cris wants to know what is going on. Pau tells her it's very important and that it's terrible too and she doesn't know if Cris will ever be her friend after she tells her. Cris is looking worried. Pau actually tells her the truth, about wanting to make contact with Cris, she wasn't very nice to her in the beginning, was only wanting to know her out of curiosity and now loves her like her own daughter. Well Cris loves her too, and Pau tells her to be quiet and just listen. She has been wanting to tell her this for awhile and almost did once, but now she is going to tell her. Pau also tells her, her Mama actually should have told her. Pau beleives that Cris should know this. Cris is like, spill already. Well remember how your Mama told you, your Papa is dead? Well, he is alive! Cris is so not beleiving this and doesn't want her Mama called a liar! Cris is so not gonna listen and covers her ears like kids do while singing so she can't hear. Cris wants to go, but Pau tells her just to listen. Pau says your father is..... and Cris says her Papa died at sea before she was born! So Pau tells her no Cris your father is, wait for it, Anibal Balverna! Cris is incredulous to say the least and tells Pau no way, no how is Anyballs her Papa, her Mama doesn't know him! Pau tells Cris you are so wrong. Anyballs always talked about the love of his life and that was Candelaria Corona! Cris so doesn't think her Mama would hide this from her. Pau makes it worse by telling Cris that her Mama was too chicken to tell her, but Cris is the daughter of Anyballs. Cris isn't beleiving one word of this and says that her Mama wouldn't get involved with a married man, Pau is a lying liar! Cris decides to call her Mama then and there to confirm this b.s. She calls and finds out her Mama isn't there. She leaves a message saying it's urgent for her Mama to call her back! So now Cris is really pithed! She is crying as well as the Pau. So now Pau tells her more about what happened with Cande and Anyballs. They met when Anyballs was admitted to the clinic in Santa Rita after a fall from a horse. Cris can't beleive her Mama would get involved with a married man, but Pau tells her Cande didn't know he was married at first. Cris now thinks that Anyballs abandoned them when he found out Cande was pregnant, but not so says Pau, Anyballs never knew! Pau had the obligation to tell Cris. Now Cris thinks that Anyballs knew alright and never told her. Pau wants her to calm down and explains how Anyballs never knew about Cris. Cande sent a letter and Pau deliberatley withheld that letter! Cris wants to know why Pau did this. So Pau explains that when she read the letter she thought Anyballs would dump her and now she needs Cris' forgiveness. Cris isn't having it. She thought Pau was her friend. Pau tells it was hard to keep this secret and the guilt was killing her. She wants Cris to understand this wasn't easy to tell her. Cris thinks she grew up in a world of lies. She wasn't allowed to know her Papa. Pau thinks that now is the time for Cris to be recognized legitimately in other words. Pau goes to hug Cris, but Cris doesn't want Pau to touch her. Cris is crying very hard now and goes while Pau is trying to call her back. Pau is also crying buckets of tears and Cris is walking out of the building hearing Pau's voice in her head saying she is Anyballs' daughter. Cris is not watching where she is going and almost gets run over by a car! Pobrecita!

Guzmi You Get To Choose The Slutty Lingere:
Guzmi and Nikki have come back from shopping and Nikki wants Guzmi to pick the black or white bra/garter belt combo, imagine her in them and pick! He picks the white. She tells him she liked that one too. Guzmi doesn't want to be provoked by Nikki, so Polita passes by and Nikki has her take the bags up to her room. Well, Nikki is going that way, why can't she take them herself? Anyhoo, Polita stops and talks to Guzmi who is very sad. Polita knows he is pining after Goldilocks (Nikki). Polita wants him to be cheery, and Guzmi is thinking the heart wants what the heart wants.

Little Orchid Has Those Feelings Again:

Little Orchid is now fully dressed and gets pains in the tummy again. She glances at the statue of the Virgincita and asks her what could the problem be? Note to Little Orchid: Could be the Virgincita is reminding you to be a good girl, jus' sayin'. Anyhoo, Lili thinks it might be her Dad, she calls his cell and gets the voice mail. She leaves him one and tells him to call her. She thinks to herself, everything is ok, it will be ok.

Pau and the Padre:
Pau goes to see the Padre. She wants a salve for her conscience. She can't take it anymore and begs the Padre's help. Poor Padre is like que que what??? Not really, but he looks concerned as Pau is on her knees, crying and begging for his help.

The Note:
Ms Vikki is worn out by all the mayhem of the day and goes to her Sanctum Sanctorium to reflect. She is about to go on her computer when she notices a note. She picks it up and reads it. It says:

Ms Vikki,

I am going back to my hometown. I should never have left. Thanks for everything and I will never forget you!

Jose Angel Arriaga

Poor Ms Vikki reads this note with tears in her eyes, her hand over her heart as if it is breaking. She breaks down in heart wrenching sobs! Tomi comes in a bit later and tells Ms Vikki that Angel told her he was going away and did Ms Vikki fire him? Ms Vikki says no, Angel decided to leave and she's desperate, she can't be without her Angel. So Tomi tells Ms Vikki to get the Angel back. Ms Vikki can't do that cause this was caused by the FF and that damned DVD. FF accused Angel and Ms Vikki of being lovers and Tomi knows that so isn't true. Tomi can't beleive that Ms Vikki is allowing the FF to have the upper hand and she advises Ms Vikki to get the Angel back. Ms Vikki doesn't know where to look, and Tomi tells her she heard the Angel on the phone with the bus station, asking about buses to Santa Rita! Tomi advises her to go get him, she still has time!

Nikki Sets Guzmi Straight:
Nikki is on the phone with someone about hairstyles, send her some pics on her phone of something that would look good on her. Knock on the door. Give you a couple guesses who it is? Guzmi of course. He wants some answers from Nikki. Guzmi wants to know, why in all these convos they've had, she hasn't said she loves him! She tells him she just doesn't love him, captas???? He swears he loves her, can't give her the life she is accustomed to, she puts barriers between them all the time, sha la la, sha la la, same old, same old convo. He is holding her and very close to kissing her. He could make her so happy, what does he have to do to stop her from getting married? Nikki tells him so sorry so sad, marrying Roller Boy is a given, and she tells Guzmi to get out of her life. Sha la la, Sha la la. Guzmi just wants a chance with her, he really does love her, Nikki thinks it's all about her money and that's why Guzmi really wants her. He tells her again, he isn't interested in her money, doesn't give a damn about that, and only wants her, she knows him! She accuses him of lying. If Guzmi really knew her, he'd just leave her alone. Does she need to explain it with apples and pears??? He says if that is what she really wants he'll stay away from her. She thinks it's good he's like a leech, always around her. Guzmi is on the way out the door and turns and says he can't beleive he fell in love with such a shallow and spoiled girl. He goes, and Nikki is crying, again. Guzmi passes Adri in the hall, on her way to Nikki's room. He is pithed and Adri notices. Guzmi gets a call from Salsero on the walkie talkie and goes. Adri goes to Nikki's room. Nikki has to wipe the tears from her face and then lets Adri in. Adri wants to know what is going on with Francisco? Nikki doesn't like that Adri is calling him Francisco his name is Guzman. Adri likes Francisco better. Whatevs.Adri thinks Francisco is nice. Nikki could care less about Guzmi, she so doesn't want to talk about him. Adri thinks it is strange that Nikki and Guzmi were arguing. Nikki is sick of everyone wanting to know what she is doing. The therapy, what she did or didn't do, yada yada. Adri is part of Super Mama's army and she's on to her. Adri doesn't want to upset Nikki. Adri is just concerned and loves Nikki very much. Nikki says she is ok and just wants to be left alone. Adri gets it and tells Nikki if she needs anything Adri is there for her and she's about to go, when Nikki apologizes for being rude and hugs her Tia Adri and tells her that she is cool and Nikki was just being fresh. It's the wedding nerves, doncha know.

The Meeting of the Bodyguards or What is Left of Them:
Salsero and Guzmi are in the Angel's room and Guzmi can't beleive the Angel left just like that without saying good bye. Salsero tells him, Angel put his gun in the drawer and that he didn't want it lying around. Guzmi can't understand why the Angel would quit this way, but Salsero says he has an idea about why, but isn't going to give the chisme to anyone.

Alone in the Park, One Lonely, Upset Woman:
Cris is walking around in the park, by herself, crying and not watching where she going and bumps into a couple walking. She excuses herself and is wondering why her Mama Cande lied to her all these years. Why didn't her Mama tell her that Anyballs Balvanera was her Papa? Pobrecita! My heart aches for her.

Besame, Besame Mucho, Que Tengo Miedo Perderte, Perderte Despues
The Angel is sitting in the bus station waiting for the bus to Santa Rita. He is in his jeans, looking woe begone, and reflecting, when the number of his bus to Santa Rita is called. He grabs his bag and heads for the gate. In the meantime, while the Angel is going thru the metal detector, Ms Vikki is coming in at a loping run, holding her side and looking for the Angel. She sees him going thru the gate and he is about to board the bus. The security people will not let her pass, and she yells the Angel's name. She goes thru anyways and they run at a slow run, imagine this is a meadow and they are running towards each other, hope and joy is evident in their eyes, as they run towards each other. They meet finally, look at each other with such joy and hope and then they lean towards each other, and then, and then......... One slow, deep, soulful kiss, por fin, Ayi Papi! And here is where we end this epi. Sigh!!!!!!

Avances Esta Lunes:

More of that kiss.
Angel gets a phone call and wants to know what is up!

Comments:
Hey Y'all here is a place for y'all to comment. Mr Mads and I are getting our taxes done in the a.m. and when that's done will work on the recap : )

Forgot to add, my most favorite rendition of the song, Besame Mucho, which is the title of this recap is by the fabulous, no comparison, Andrea Bocelli, check him out on Youtube : )

Ok Madelaine, This episode is epic like knew it would be with Cristina finding out she is a Belvanera. Talk about a emotions, I teared up on more than one occasion, Pobre Cristina I felt o bad for her. Nikki and Guzmancito scene in her bedroom was painful for me too. Not to mention did anyone catch the Avance, can you say, "AHhhhhhhhh." I'm so nervous. I'll wait to comment more later when you post your recap Mads

Team Nikki/Guzmancito

If I found out that my father was a bizillionaire, I would be crying tears of joy and kissing Paula's feet for telling me. I can guarantee that I would not be wandering around town having a hissy fit.

The writers finally listened and injected some action into this tn! Last night was a definite turning point, and Candelaria hasn't even hit town yet. One thing I'm glad didn't change-- Lili is still a virgin. Yay! Looking forward to your recap Mads.

Cynderella- Yep! ITA. Of course she's also finding out she's the result of an affair. But at least Paula cleared up rather quickly that Cande didn't know it was an affair, since the rat bastard lied about his marital status. Since Cris already knows Anibal is a rat bastard, and she still likes him anyway (the only person who does aside from Nikki), it really shouldn't come as a surprise that he played her mother, like he did with all the other women in his life. In case, things are looking pretty grim for Cris right now...

That's, in any case, things are looking grim for Cris...

Now that JA and Vicky have shared a passionate kiss, can we now classify their relationship as an affair?

I understand the Christina is upset because her mother lied, but she's just won the gene pool lottery. Anibal likes her. I'd be angry with my mother for a day or two, but other than that, I'd get over it very quickly. She's acting like someone died and this is the worst possible news EVER.

Oh, yes! If I saw my husband kissing another woman like that, he'd better be afraid to come home. I'd act like I forgave him, but one day...when he least expected it...we'll let's just say that I'd be the subject of a movie of the week.

After reading the comments here, I can't wait to watch my recording, which won't happen until late this afternoon. Finally, some real action! I hope the little orchid was not de-flowered, too. Poor Cris, her world is crashing down around her from lies on all sides.

word verification: ffierno It so aptly applies to Nelson.

Madelaine - Good luck with your taxes. Looking forward to the recap.

Doris - Nope, Little Orchid still has her flower. She stopped Roy and told him she was a virgin, and he went bye-bye like she was a freak.

Pobre Cris. I'm nervous about Monday.

LOL Niecie: "Nope, Little Orchid still has her flower. She stopped Roy and told him she was a virgin, and he went bye-bye like she was a freak."

Yep, he was outta there so fast, you could hear the sonic boom! Roy the Boy doesn't want any virgens with ideas of marriage and protective parents around. . . He acted like he was soooo bummed, though, because "he really liked that girl." Yeah, you barely know her name, you visit her and jump her bones about 5 minutes after you're in the door. Yeah, it's twoooo lurrrrrve, buddy Boy Boy. Puke! HATE. HIM.

Yep, a lot of action happened last night!

I was deflated, I confess, by the Vicki - Angel kiss. I suspect (but don't know, so no spoilers) that this is a "goodbye" kiss, as I don't anticipate a big flaming affair while Chris is still in the picture, but still . . . Big Angel, you are MARRIED. Bad. I'm only glad my mom didn't see this. She's been following this story faithfully but missed the ending of last night's episode. She has been clucking her tongue over the "almost affair" of Vicki and Big Angel for a while now. Of course they will almost certainly refry the kiss on Monday, which should get my mom's tongue clucking furiously! LOL

Awaiting the recap with great anticipating, Madeline! Enjoy your taxes! ;)

Ok, y'all the recap is up, please enjoy.

Madelaine, I love this song. :)

There was only one (big) problem with that kiss: Arriaga wants to stay with Cristina. So kissing Ms. Vicky was a bad idea, and it was clearly a weak moment for both of them.
(Otherwise I really don't care if someone starts a new relationship while still married - as long as this person files for a divorce and doesn't lie to the soon-to-be-ex wife or husband.)

Who-hoo, virginity is the best boner-killer for guys like Roycito. I felt sorry for poor Lili because it was a very confusing situation for her, but in the meantime it was funny. Roy basically ran for his life.

Madelaine- Omg, you did this recap justice. I completely enjoyed it. Thank you so much!

So glad Liliana was not deflowered, I was thinking Roy must really, really like her because he stopped immediately and didn't try to persuade her anymore. I'm shocked and relieved.

Cristina, Cristina, I agree with you Madelaine about, "My heart aches for her." I teared up on more than one occasion as I seen just how it was destroying her to find out that Anibal was her father. And I'm so afraid for her on the avances. I'm prepping tissues just I case. I really wasn't prepared for all this emotion that went on during this episode. I had goosebumps pretty much the whole time watching from when Cristina found out to her being completely hysterical.

Between Nikki and Mi Guzmancito, I felt so bad for Guzmancito, Nikki being stubborn as usual, it wouldn't have taken Guzmancito to say all that for me to realize he is not a fraud and that he loves me. Sometimes I just want to shake Nikki and slap her one good time to knock some sense into her. The Last thing Guzmancito said about not knowing how he could have allowed himself to fall in love with such a selfish little girl, my heart dropped and I teared up again. Don't give up Guzmancito!

Arriaga and Victoria's kiss was pretty romantic, but I don't support it because he is still married and NOW he is cheating separation or not.

I can't get over those avances with Kendra's evil look as she gave orders. I really got goosebumps from that.

Team Nikki/Guzmancito

Victoria, I'm not ready to throw flowers at Rolando for his decision but I will give him credit for the best as well as most disgusting line of the evening:

"When you solve your little problem...call me..."

Carlos

Finalmente! El GRAN beso. I don't think I could have gone another week (or another episode) without it. I do expect JA to be honest with Cristina about his feelings for Vicki. Their marriage is totally beyond the toilet; it's been flushed several times. Nelson is so low on the food chain of life that I have no words to describe it or him. I suspect that Cristina will continue to be physically in danger as long as she's close to Kendra Ho. Was her almost getting hit by the Jeep last night a clue? I don't know, but I fear for her life.

Madelaine - Terrific recap of this action-packed, emotional episode. Thanks for the snark along with all the detail. Loved "Partay Interruptus" and "Poor Padre is like que que what???"

I couldn't get into JA and Vickie's first kiss, which was smoking, because I'm worried about Cris's safety. She's a country girl used to taking long walks where there's not much traffic, but she's in the city now and distracted.

My mom was adopted but didn't find out until she was older and then not from her parents. I think Cris' worst feeling is that the person closest to her has lied to her all her life. She just needs time to process this.

I liked that Guzman opened up and pleaded his case to Nikki. I don't see what else he can do to get through to her.

WOW!!! What an episode last night.
I must put down a few thoughts before I even read the recap.

Roy the jackal attacks. His over sexed hormones were racing nearly out of control last night. I was glad that Little Orchid came to her senses in time to save herself from that over sexed jackel.
Vivi---your late comment about paralles Thursday really had me worried. Thank God the sweet Little
Orchid is still blooming brightly in the warm Mecican sun. She so doesn't deserve to be brought down
by that jackal scum.

No Candelaria last night. I was thinking that last night would be the big night for her but I guess that we will have to wait a little longer---maybe Monday.

No more love from afar---JA and Vicki really locked lips last night
I can't believe that anyone thought that it wouldn't happen. We're into full adultry now, well
almost full adultry.

The Guzmancito---He is really fighting fot the Brat Princess now.
The moat arround the castle is large and deep but the castle walls will be breeched and princess Nikki will be rescued from
pond scum Roy.
Fear not and have faith Victoria, the castle's defences will start to crumble soon.

Cris---WOW!!! I was surprised at her last night. I thought that she would be happy to learn that she was a part of the "very rich" Balvanera family. But no, she was angry, confused and distraught. I thought that she was going to be killed by the jeep that nearly hit her in the middle of the street. Can't wait to find out what is next. I hope that it isn't bad news, she has had enough bad news in her life.
Madelaine, I know that your excellent recap will clear up the mystery. Will read it and comment again later. I just couldn't wait until later on today to post some thoughts---last night's episode was powerful.

My two cents on the married - not married, cheating - not cheating thing: there are cheater-cheaters like Nelson, Aníbal and Paula, and there are other people who just try to live their lives without hurting others. But financial and emotional issues can make separations and divorces very complicated.

When my father met my mother, he and his ex wife had been already separated for a long time. They just hadn't divorce. When he fell in love with my mom, he filed for divorce, but it took for ages thanks to the ex wife who was quite vengeful. Anyway, Mom and Dad decided to have a child together. (My Mom already had a daughter but Dad was childless and almost 40.) I was born in February, the divorce finalized in January. Mom says that was the day I finally turned in her womb.

Naturally the Angel's situation is different because he doesn't want to divorce. (Although his marriage with Cris is officially in the ruins.)

Madelaine - Thank you for the great recap! I still haven't had a chance to watch but definitely look forward to the episode of must. see. TV.

Is it possible that JA/Vikki kiss at the bus station is in one of their imaginations, instead of reality?

Yay!!! I'm so glad the Little Orchid got to keep her flower petals. ;o)

Madelaine, your recap captured the action and words perfectly. Good job and congratulations... you got to do:

THE KISS

We've now had a couple of close calls that have me worried about third time being the charm:

Rolando has come so close to harvesting the Little Orchid twice now... third time?

Twice now Cris has wandered into traffic and twice has almost been hit... third time?

"Cris asks him if he ever wanted a son. 'Maybe...'"

For some reason Odette really really hates Aníbal and he has been very generous with his DNA... you don't suppose that Stevie...?

Credit Paula with staying true to TN principles by interminably dragging out the revelation that Aníbal is Cris' daddy.

Since Rolando prefers that Roxana solve her little problem before experiencing the joy that is Roy, I wonder whom she might select to do that little job?

Carlos

Carlos - Normally "the third time's the charm" but I guess not, in telenovelaland.

Carlos- "Victoria, I'm not ready to throw flowers at Rolando for his decision but I will give him credit for the best as well as most disgusting line of the evening:"

"When you solve your little problem...call me..."

I didn't catch on to that comment being that Spanish is iffy, but Now that I know that NVM what I said.

Team Nikki/Guzmancito

Oh my. This was quite the episode. And Madelaine, what fun to relive it through your rollicking recap. Great title (great song) great subtitles, great story-telling. Thank you, amiga.

I agree with Carlos that Rolando had the most disgusting line of the evening, though sadly, Little Orchid seemed quite oblivious to it. However my FAVORITE line was when Miss Vikki looked Furry in the eye and said:

Go ahead and release the video -- if you want the whole world to think you're a CORNUDO!

IF Estefano is a Balvanera, I'll not only start wearing my "CARLOS IS ALWAYS RIGHT' t-shirt, I'll order a set of the buttons as well!

I LOVE love in the Terminal de Autobuses -- ever since Florecita rolled up to Cruz in Triunfo del Amor, I've never looked at Mexican bus stations in the same way. What a great scene!

--I felt very sorry for the priest whose lot it will be to deal with soggy Paula.

I was amused by the musical background to the Roy and Lili scene.
-Not a sweet melody, obvio.
-Not the slow jazz that tells decent folks to avert their eyes.
But an anxious suspense riff that led us to expect someone to walk in one them at any moment.

What a let-down! It would have been so satisfying to see any one of a number of people enter and then knock the Rollero's teeth down his throat.

NovelaMaven,

"I felt very sorry for the priest whose lot it will be to deal with soggy Paula."

Thanks for reminding me. I thought the priest had that "Oh crap, just what I needed today..." look on his face. I guessed that he either already knew Paula or could tell from her demeanor that this was going to be special.

Carlos

Mads- This was one of your best recaps! I love the way you organized it.

I too felt for that poor priest when Paula came in. It reminded me of poor Padre Honesto and Roselena in Refugio. :)

THE KISS, although we all knew it was coming sooner or later, was very difficult for me to accept. I think one of the things that makes Jóse Ángel so appealing to Vikki (and to us as well) has been his faithfulness and dedication to his marriage and family... well, as far as I'm concerned this really dings his image for me.

I think one of the reasons that Paula's revelation of Cristina's daddy was presented right before THE KISS was so we would have to endure Cris' shrill, loud, and protracted response. I was even ready for an anvil to at least drop nearby to startle her enough to send the frogs upstairs as Kat might say. Just a little reminder for us so we won't feel so bad about thinking, "Well she's shrew, not sophisticated like Vikki...he deserves much better."

Carlos

Good theory Carlos, but I still felt bad for Cris during the big reveal, and felt even worse for her during The Kiss. She is obviously a doomed character. She should have that little storm cloud over her head that Chucho had in PEAM the other day.

Carlos and Vivi:

Remember too that José Ángel has just gone to Cristina and tried to make things right with her; and once again, she has rejected him stonily, preferring to take her cues from Kendra.

For me, that makes The Kiss more understandable.

OK, the toothpaste is now out of the tube so to speak...sooo what happens now? I honestly have no idea what's next but I know that it can't be good for Cristina. Does anyone see a way for her to survive to the end?

I didn't think so.

I just wonder if she'll know all the truths before before she moves into the next barrio.

Carlos

Well. If Cris IS going to that great barrio beyond, better to do it still believing that Lili is Lili. Forgive me, fans of Cristina, but she is a very literal-minded and unimaginative character. I can't see her ever getting past the switched at birth deal ...

Good Evening Y'all and thanks for all the great comments. So much happened in this epi. Three of the characters really surprised me and they wouldn't be who you are thinking of.

1. Roller Boy- Ya know I really thought he would press his "suit" on little Orchid and he stopped as soon as he found out she was a Virgin. I know I used the caps and that is for emphasis. I think he really likes her. Really. Why would he stop otherwise. Does he respect her? In my opinion I think he really does. We'll have to wait and see.

2. Pau: She really surprised me here, cause I really think she wants to do right by Cris. She wants Cris to have the life she should have had as if she had been born into the family, so to speak. I think Pau wants justice for Cris. She picked a hell of a time to tell her, but I really think she wants to right a wrong, no so much as venganza on Anyballs. Notice she told Cris and not Anyballs. This should be interesting as it plays out.

3. Cris: She has been growing as far as character goes and now she has reverted somewhat and become shrewish again. She is made to look this way again and I am wondering why? The way she has been handling the Angel, I thought she had grown somewhat into her own person. I completely understand why she reacted the way she did though. Finding this out now, her Mama Cande lied to her, she was without a Papa all this time and he was alive. Cris will have to process this and I can't wait for Cande to show up and do some 'splaining. It is long overdue.

Now on to The Kiss and this is my personal take on it. I have real life experience about good bye kisses. I have kissed Mr Mads many times before deployments, whether he was going on deployment or I was, and let me tell you those good bye kisses are very soulful and sad. This is the same vibe I got from Ms Vikki and the Angel, Elvira and I are on the same page about this kiss. It is more of a "Let's Just Kiss and Say Goodbye" vibe then "Hello, Hello, This is Romeo".

Did they cheat, nah not feeling it. They are both separated and even though they aren't divorced, they are not together with their spouse. Is this cheating? To some of you ,I see it is, but I don't see it as so black and white. Even though Angel wants to stay with Cris he is realizing that Cris now doesn't want him. This is one big step for the Angel. Ms Vikki is more clear. Her husband, and I use this term loosely, is a cheater and always has been. Her case is more clear cut and I really believe she will divorce the FF. Angel not so sure.

I think the kissing scene was a way for Ms Vikki to say goodbye to the Angel and let him go. It's sad all the way around. And that is my take, and I'm sticking to it : )

Madelaine---What a great, super great recap. You out did yourself on this action packed episode.
Yes--I was yelling out on the patio trying to warn Little Orchid.
I was afraid that I might be asked to leave but that jackal scum Roy
infuriated me, I couldn't help myself.

Elvira---I hate him too. I wanted
daddy Angel to come in and beat him
to a pulp last night but that didn't happen. I can't wait for him
to crash and burn. I don't know what will be his downfall but I hope that the writers have an extra big anvil waiting for his extra big head.

Cynderella---She's just won the gene pool lottery. LOL
Still, I feel very sorry for her, she's an emotional wreck right now
I don't want anything bad to happen to her. CRIS!!! stay out of the street!!!

Aribeth---Good and interesting points.

Vivi---Padre Honesto--These poor priests, what they have to put up with. The guy last night was like-
give me a clue.

Can I get any more angry at KendHo?
I don't think so.

Who is worse---Nelson, Boy Toy Roy,
KendHo or Anyballs? Votes anyone.
the gringo

Gringo- I vote Kendho

Team Nikki/Guzmancito

Gringo- My vote is for Kendra too. If you think about it, she's making both the Roy and Nelson situations worse (feeding Nikki false info about Guzman so that she latches on to Roy; and fueling Nelson's jealousy of JA).

Anibal is a different kind of bad. He was probably as bad as Kendra in his heyday-- bedding innocent women under the false pretence that he was single; stepping out on his ill wife as she was dying; locking up his teen daughter and stealing her baby; getting rid of the men his daughters loved; stringing Odette along in order to steal her clients. Now that he's old and out of the game, he can pretend to be a harmless loving grandpa, but the man has done some real bad stuff in his time, and continues to do so by hiding the truth about her baby from his daughter.

I'm in the minority because I don't see Cris' post-revelation behavior as shrewish. She didn't go after Anibal or curse the Balvaneras. She's simply walking through the park having a good cry alone about her disappointment in her mother and the shock of it. She’s over the top, but this is a TN. Cris is a woman with a good heart, but with rough edges. She in transition and I'd like to see her continue to grow.

JA knows Cris still loves him. She told him at Kendra's that her love for him has never been the question, but instead his feelings for her. She also said something like "la burra no era erisca," which I think means after being hurt one is gun-shy to return. Cris is influenced by Kendra's advice, but she also doesn't want to be with a man who isn't in love with her, who’s there out of obligation. Who could blame her for that?

The JA-Vickie kiss didn't surprise me. I don't know if it's a goodbye or a let's-get-this-thing-started, but their emotions are running high and for the moment they are away from their families/world. It was just inevitable.

Niecie- I don't think you're in the minority in thinking that Cris wasn't being shrewish. She was being a true Balvanera in her dramatic reaction, but it was understandable, and I think she had every right to light in Paula for her deception.

Vivi- Good evaluation

Team Nikki/Guzmancito

Good Morning Y'all and thanks for more great comments.

Vivi, Neice and Victoria:

Ok, my bad. It was just Cris' reaction to what Pau told her. It was the hand over the ears thingy that was so odd. I should not have used the word shrewish. I too see why she is so angry with Pau for Pau's deception. Pau should have come clean way before now and Pau should also not have withheld that letter that Cande sent to Anyballs. Neice and Vivi you both are so right in your evaluation of Cris. I just thought that now that she has been working and seeing more of the city life some of her edges would have been smoother so to speak. The way she handled the Angel being at the hospital for so long was so much more let's say mature. I don't know if that is the right word, but it wasn't over the top. I guess she is more of a Balvanera isn't she? Adri reacts the same way in many circumstances with the yelling and crying.

And one more thing --

Paula was out of line telling Cris about her origin. It wasn't her truth to tell.

If she really wanted to make things right, she would have sent along Candelaria's original letter to Aníbal and let things play out.

Has she destroyed the letter? She still could have contacted Candelaria (anonymously or not) and let her know that Aníbal never received it.

Of course the most direct way -- and the morally correct way -- to handle it would have been to tell Aníbal about Candelaria's letter, how she intercepted it and paid off the detective to say that Candelaria was dead. Fat chance, huh?

Mads:

"Adri reacts the same way in many circumstances with the yelling and crying."

And although I became a diehard Vicky (and Erika) fangirl, when the sophisticated lady is upset, she can pull some shrieking melodrama, too. It was painful watching her when she realized that Arriaga had left.

This definitely runs in the Balvanera family: Adri, Cris, Vicky, Lili, Nikki... Geez, ladies, just calm down. :)

The blessing and curse of the long
weekend. It is soooo long from Friday night to the next chapter on
Monday night=curse. The blessing is that we have more time to think about what just happened and what will come next.

Who is the worst? I guess that people are leaning towards Kendera.
Yes she is terrible, beautiful but terrible. Pussy Galore has to go down.
I was thinking this morning that I forgot to include Leo.
Vivi--Great insight into Aniballs. I agree that he is not just a lovable old grandpa. He's still very dangerous. I wonder if he did anything good in his younger years.

Niecie in MD---I love it, I love it, I love it. Cris is a woman with
a good heart but with rough edges.
You said it perfectly. Your evaluations are right on.

Writers---Please don't take Cris out.

Guzman---What more can he do? He has already told Nikki that he loves her deeply. She in turn blows
him off with I'm going to marry Roy
OK!!! He has, time after time, given her many sweet beso's. He is working full time but doesn't make a lot of money---also he is giving up part of his salary to pay for his father's debt. Give her flowers? The house is full of them.
Buy her jewelry? He can't afford it
How can he break through the strong
protective walls of the castle and win her heart?
Any ideas ladies? I don't know what
the poor guy can do at this point.
the gringo

Gringo:

Guzmi could do a lot for Nikki to know he loves her. He needs to talk and she needs to listen. He has never explained what happened with Amber and why he is still married to her. He hasn't told Nikki that I should say. Also if he would only tell her why he borrowed money from Ms Vikki, to pay Felipe's debt, it would clear so many things up.

Nikki needs to come clean to Guzmi. How much she really loves and adores him, and that this thing with Roller Boy is really a sham. But the thing she really needs to tell Guzmi is what the Kendho told her about Guzmi.

Well, though I certainly don't view Aníbal as harmless, I do see him as a totally loving old father and grandpa. He certainly has made some questionable decisions and has done some unwise things that have turned out...well...badly, but everything he has done (with the exception of a little philandering here and there) was out of love for his family.

I think that he is beginning to truly regret regifting Adriana's daughter and I expect that very soon he will make an effort to reunite her with Lucia.

He ran off Vikki's first true love and selected a rather unfortunate replacement although Nelson probably seemed like quite a good catch at the time. However that pairing produced Nikki and set Vikki up to meet Arriaga...the predestined love of her life.

We don't know all the circumstances surrounding Adriana's early conception but rarely, if ever, is the pregnancy of a fifteen year old girl a good thing. How he handled that was not justifiable, unforgivable, and probably criminal, but it was what he thought was best for his daughter and was done out of misguided love.

Candelaria, we've just learned, he encountered while she was attending him after an accident. They fell in love... it happens... ask Vikki and José Ángel.

Imagine how he will feel about Cristina when he finds out that she is the product of that pure love... plus the added bonus of finding out that she has been mother to the grand daughter that he rejected. Oh joyous day.

He absolutely adores and dotes on Nikki.

He did keep Paula as a mistress for quite a while but he treated her well and seems to have actually been faithful to her.

What's left? Oh yes...does anyone really care that he may have treated Odette shabbily some time in the past?

Carlos

Excellent analysis, Carlos!

Aníbal's sin is his arrogance, his hubris. Everything about him is outsized. But he is capable of love.

Nelson, on the other hand, is just an empty suit.

The Toy Boy is just an empty track suit.

Aníbal is a complex, interesting character. He loves his family very much, he's very nice to the Arriagas, and he still takes care of Paula. But you know why he rubs me in the wrong way?

1. He truly believes that everything he did/does is right and justified. In his mind getting rid of Carlos, Whatshisname (IRRC, Adri said his name was Vincente) and the baby were logical, good decisions.

2. He appreciates Vicky's skills and in business he treats her as an equal, but when it comes to family life, he treats her like a child. He firmly believes that men (and only men!) are allowed to cheat on their spouses, and he can't fathom why Victoria is so mad about Nelson's infidelity. He thinks it's just a stupid whim.
And he's the one who spoiled Nikki rotten. Okay, he and Nelson. They always undermined Vicky's parental efforts.

3. And he is a snob, who only cares about old money and good family names. He arranged the marriage of Vicky and Nelson, and now he's doing the same with Nikki and Roy.

He's so smug, and he's so sure of himself. And although he's a very intelligent man, the things I mentioned make him narrow-minded and sometimes downright stupid.

And yet... I like this bastard. I can't dislike Enrique Rocha.

Roy didn't stop because he 'likes' Lili. Maybe sometime in the future he might, but right now all he's thinking about (well, not thinking, exactly) is 'doing it' with her. The fact that he stopped when she said she's a virgin was only so he wouldn't have to deal with the messy consequences. If he really liked her, he wouldn't have said, "call me when you solve your little problem." That was callous and unfeeling. A man (okay, boy) who likes a woman (girl) doesn't send her off to be deflowered by someone else.

Agree that the Balvaneras are all loud, overly dramatic banshees at times. All. Of. Them. With Nelson ready to explode and accuse her of any little thing, Vikki screams at the top of her lungs that Arriaga can't leave her, she can't leave without her! Then Tomi screams back that she should go after him! What, is her room soundproof? And what's to stop the lurking FF from just popping in as he's wont to do?

Guzman can do no more in his 'fight' for Nikki. He just needs to move on. Sure, he can explain several things, but that can never happen because the spoiled little brat NEVER LISTENS. The only thing he COULD do is drag Kendra by her extensions to Nikki and force her to confess what she's been doing, but is that likely to happen? Never! Especially because he's not aware Kendra is the source of the poison against him. If after all his pleading (not sexy) and crying to Nikki that he loves her for her and she still believes Kendra, there is no hope. Let her marry Roy and regret it for the rest of her life, because once the real leech is attached to her, he won't let go until him and his family have sucked her dry.

oops, meant 'she can't live without him' above
Anon 5:43

Love your recap, Mads! Very snappy and fun! I'm so glad you got this one, you did a great job!

Agreed Anon 5:43, Roy the Boy went on his way (with sonic-boom speed) after the whole virgen revelation with Lili because who knows what the fallout would be for deflowering the little Orchid. That could be an angry protective papa with a shotgun, demanding marriage or just a clingy girl who feels bonded to him because he was her first. Or whatever other type of drama. No thanks, that's what Roy the Boy is thinking, he prefers experienced girls who already know the ropes.

I agree that the Little Gorilla has done pretty much all he can do. There are a few other things he could explain, but she probably wouldn't listen. He's explained that he's paying back the loan. I had hoped that would make a dent with her, but no. Forget it, then! Sure, she's been influenced by the Ho, and I think her inclination is to be distrusting due to all the false friends she's had all her life. But none of these things can the Little Ape undo on his own. The ball is in her court.

Yes, I am bummed by the Angel/Vikki kiss, though I wholeheartedly agree with Madeline that it is most likely a goodbye kiss. Do we see him following through with a big steamy affair with Vikki, after witnessing how the Little Orchid completely lost it over the separation with Chris? No, he won't do that. He won't lose the Little Orchid's respect. No, the kiss was one of goodbye, kind of like "What have we to lose, we already know it's doomed, so let's kiss goodbye." I wish they hadn't done it, but it's not like it's a goodbye romp in the sack. So I'll get used to it.

Plus even though I still don't like the kiss, we can't fault Big Angel for not trying with Chris. She won't bend, which is her fault. I was really surprised she didn't, since he said all the right things to her and I think he was sincere. He doesn't want his marriage to fall apart, he really doesn't.

Salsa Dude is still slated for redemption, I think (hope!), but he's so focused on his relationship with Bea and still thinks that all he has to do is keep things good with her and it'll be fine. But of course we know that it won't work like that. He needs to redeem himself completely and own up to all the crap he's done in the past. And this looking the other way stuff he's done is not going to go over well with Bea, whenever she finds out.

I keep on wondering if Bea will find out she's pregnant with Leo the Low's baby from the rape. I don't know how long it's been or what, but it could take her a while to realize it, if that's the way the writing is going to go. I just keep on wondering if that's an anvil waiting to fall . . .

Looking forward to tomorrow's episode!

Aribeth- "And although I became a diehard Vicky (and Erika) fangirl, when the sophisticated lady is upset, she can pull some shrieking melodrama, too. It was painful watching her when she realized that Arriaga had left." When I came across this comment I lol'd literally. We were thinking alike when you said it was painful to watch haha. It really was.

Gringo- I enjoyed reading Your comment about Guzman and what more he can do. Funny!

Anonymous 5:43- "The only thing he COULD do is drag Kendra by her extensions to Nikki and force her to confess what she's been doing,"" I enjoyed this comment. A little harsh on Mi Guzmancito you think.

Anxious and nervous for tomorrow's episode.

Elvira:

I have been wondering about Betty too and a possible pregnancy. I hope that doesn't happen. The poor woman has been through enough already with this beast of a he whose name shall remain nameless! I hope the writers don't go there. It has been at least a month or a month and a half since the rape, I think.

To All of You that commented about the Balvanera Women:

You are right and it does include Ms Vikki with the screaming and yelling and crying. They are all alike : )

Don Anibal is a true old reprobate. I can see why, as Carlos stated, Anyballs did what he did as far as Adriana goes. But this is a pattern with him. He doesn't like poor men to marry his daughters. He likes good family names, who cares if they have money, it's the name that counts!

I agree he does treat Lili, Cris and Angel very well, even Guzmi. I think he tolerates Nelson, and I wonder if he regrets having Ms Vikki marry Nelson. I too agree that Anyballs feels it's a little indescrection to have affairs, the men that is. For the women it is like a mortal sin. And yes he did treat Pau well and he was faithfull it seems.

Now for Odette, Carlos, I think you may have something there. Maybe this is the real reason that the Odious one hates Anyballs so much. Wouldn't that be something if Estafano is Anyballs' son. I would so enjoy that. I like how you stated that Anyballs was generous with his DNA, too funny.

As far as Roller Boy goes, I know what he said was so horrible, like fix the problem and then give me a call, but what amazed me was, as he was leaving he said he didn't believe she was a virgin, but he LIKED HER SO MUCH! He has never said that about Nikki, she's just a meal ticket. That's why I really think, for all of Roller Boy's selfishness and want of money, he has a chance of finding true love too, who knows! Maybe the Roller Boy will change, we will have to wait and see.

Oh, and please don't think that I like the Roller Boy and what he is doing to Nikki. I can't stand the fact he is using her, and his selfishness. I want him to change and this isn't a spoiler, but I wonder if meeting Lili will change him? Just a thought.

NovelaMaven:

I understand about this not being Pau's truth to tell, but I have an issue with Candelaria too. What took her so long? Why write a letter? Why not come to the DF and talk to him. I know it was years, but she still had connections, I am sure, in Santa Rita where the hacienda Balvanera is. She could have easily found out that Anyballs is a widower and she could have told him then. Also why has she never told Cris but was sending a letter to Anyballs? She should have told Cris first. I think that may be why Pau called Cande a chicken.

About Pau and the truth, one more thing to add. I think she is really trying to atone. She really wants her family back. Not Felipe so much, but both Betty and Frankie and she is trying to come clean. I just see it that way, cause she has been changing slowly. I think she thinks the only way she can get close to Frankie is if she stops the lies. Of course, she hasn't told Frankie the truth either, about Anyballs, or Felipe either. She still has a long way go. I can't wait for the Cande encounter with Anyballs. Oh, and NovelaMaven you are right, Pau didn't fess up to Cris about the private detective and the "death of Candelaria".

I hope there is no anvil for Cris. She has already been through so much. Husband problems, finding out Anyballs is her Papa, maybe Lili not being her child, although she doesn't have a clue about that. Enough is enough already. I want her away from Kendho too. That woman is poison.

Speaking of poison, Kendho is poison to the Balvanera women. Pretending to just love Ms Vikki who she hates with a passion, gaslighting Nikki into thinking Guzmi is a gold digger, filling Cris' head with all kinds of b.s.
I wonder what Opalina would think if she met her. Would she sense something is up with her? Oh, I forgot another possible Balvanera woman, almost burning Lili in that little ranchera in Santa Rita. The only one it seems she hasn't bamboozled yet is Adri. Just some random thoughts.

Oh, and trying to kill Ms Vikki twice and having Nikki kidnapped. The woman is an ice queen and I can't wait to find out what her final fate will be.

I am still on the fence about Kendho's pregnancy. I know everyone thinks it is FF's but I am still not buying it. I will have to have DNA proof, lol, before I believe it.

I started thinking about “the kiss” and how JA and Vicki got to this point.

In the beginning JA was trying to provide for his family. His marriage was not under siege while living in Santa Rita. While seeking a foreman’s job with the Balvaneras he was thrown into a complicated mixture of half-truths and intrigue. When JA went to work in DF, his world was forever changed. He was moving in a new direction. Cris was afraid of the “dangers” of the big city.

As for Victoria, she was successful and thought she had marital fidelity, but FF was playing around. When she finds out about FF’s betrayal, she cuts him out of her heart. She tries to heal through her art and writing, which I suspect FF doesn’t care about or understand. She finds a sympathetic shoulder to lean on with JA: a spiritual soul mate. Through his growing friendship with Vikki, he discovers a level of feeling and spirituality he wouldn’t have found in his relationship with Cris. They are evolving apart instead of together. For both couples, the meeting between the Arriagas and Balvaneras served as a catalyst: forever changing their long term relationships

Both marriages are fairly long in duration have become routine and regular. These new events have changed everything. Each character (except for FF) has evolved beyond what is comfortable for them.

“The kiss” appears to represent a new threshold for JA and Vicki. They really do have a connection. I think both of them feel a sense of longing but understand they are married to other people. “The kiss” was forbidden, but eventual. They keep trying to put distance between them, but get pulled back together by circumstances (or fate).

There is so much more to resolve here. I don’t see JA/Vicki going any further or giving into their feelings right now even though the sexual tension is palpable.

I don‘t recall any other novela thus far (I’ve been watching them since 2000) where the two leads don’t succumb to their feelings ‘right away’. The tension has been building for a long time. They have been exercising some restraint and maturity.

Cris is now dealing with her world being turned upside down. She is also getting a taste of independence. She has gone through a lot of changes and is trying to find herself. She is vulnerable to Kend-Ho’s manipulations because she isn’t experienced enough to see through her tricks. (Nikki on the other hand has more experience, but is still falling for those same manipulations). Although I don’t like the screeching and drama, she is trying to find her way. She’s just found out her mother lied to her and who her father really is: someone she already knows! A lot to handle for a country girl plucked out of the country…..she annoys me, but I feel bad for her. When Candaleria arrives, there will be a lot of questions deserving answers.

I have been reading [ALL] of the comments since Saturday morning and I have to say that the Amores Verdaderos team is the best. Such great insight and analysis. Real food for thought. A home run team for sure, no doubt about it. Great
comments all around.

Vivi:

Oh, I loved your comment about the Padre and Pau, I will never forget those scenes with Rosalena and Padre Honesto from Refugio. They were gut wrenching. I wish they had introduced this Padre before now. I like the one from Santa Rita that JA talked to.

SF ChicaBonita:

Loved your analysis of JA, Ms Vikki, Cris and the FF. You are so spot on. I agree with everything you said. I am glad to see you here : )

Cynderella:

I lol'd about your comment about Cris and the movie of the week too funny. I think maybe Cris isn't happy about the gene pool, cause she will now be related to both Ms Vikki and Adri and she can't stand either one of them, and also her daughter Lili would be Anyballs' granddaughter, oh the horror! She'd be talking to Tia Adri all the time : )

Hey Mads, hope your returns are big.
Me too, I'm wondering about Chris. the other time she had the problem about leaving her husband and discussing it with him and her decision was final. Yet, she was firm, angry and defiant. Now this other great problem, about finding out who her father was, she goes lost, almost got hit by a car and was torn into pieces as if the whole world crumbled around her. Only goes to show how much love she has for her husband and how much she loves her own self. But still, It was just a pitiful scene.
But think about the gazillions!
I have mentioned before that the Little Orchid was like her mom, Adriana, and true aren't they all Balvaneras? They all have the same temperaments.
Gringo-I vote for Kendho. Isn't she the one from the very beginning the cause of all the evil intrigues and criminal events that are happening to all of the people around her?
About the kiss= Maybe for both Vicki and Arriaga it's really a one and only last kiss before we we go our own separate ways.
What more can Guzmancito do; ay yay yay!! Love hurts!!! Just hang in there. If they're really meant for each other, love will find a way.

Madelaine: Beautifully written amiga. I savored every word and applaud your careful crafting of this pivotal epiosde. Exceptional.

"we on the Patio can see the sparks of jealousy just blazing out of Ms Vikki's eyes" and " Partay Interruptus" were but a few of my favories.

There have been so many wonderful comments - especially regarding Cris, Anibal and "the kiss" - there seems little for me to say.

I had hoped JA would indeed leave until the anvils hanging by the loosest threads possible, broke. I would preferred the kiss to have been delayed, but that was not to be. While I wanted to smile and share in their delight, I could only grimace as Cris' pain was so fresh.

So was this the end or the real beginning? We will have to wait and see.

Gracias Madelaine. Once again, done with amazing grace.

Gringo: I'm on the fence between Kendra and Leo.

I think I will have to go with Kendra only as she has methodically cruel and calculating and totally without morals or scruples. I do think Leo has mental health issues and while that would never excuse or justify what he has done, Kendra has made the foul choices on her own of her own volition. She is the guiltier of the two.

Diana

Good morning, Diana.

As for comparing Kendra and Leo, I think that in general Kendra is certainly more dangerous because she is able function successfully in polite society while one need only look at Leo and realize that boy's not right. Both are psychopaths.

As for Kendra's pregnancy, I'm not convinced that she's really pregnant. We've seen no swooning, no nausea, no pregnancy test, and I can't recall any indications of prenatal care. All we've seen are strange conversations with her abdomen.

Carlos

"All we've seen are strange conversations with her abdomen."

Carlos- I nearly choked on my tea. LOL!

I've been wondering about the reality of Kendra's pregnancy myself -- especially after she got body-slammed into a heap of bolts at the junkyard and NOTHING HAPPENED!

But she does seem to believe she is pregnant. Which would ratchet up the crazy. Just a tad.

Carlos and NovelaMaven:

I too am wondering if Kendho is even pregnant. I looked up hysterical pregnancy but even women that do have that have symptoms. Kendho has had none at all. When I was pregnant I had morning sickness for six months, and my friends that were pregnant were all sick in the beginning. Kendho has had none of that. I lol'd to Carlos about the strange convos with her tummy!

NovelaMaven:

Kendho is irredeemable and I too think her craziness will ratchet up.

Carlos: "I think that in general Kendra is certainly more dangerous because she is able function successfully in polite society while one need only look at Leo and realize that boy's not right. Both are psychopaths".

Yes. Perfect.

NovelaMaven and Madelaine: I fear Kendra is congnizant enough that she would not delude herself about the pregnancy. I feel her "mia" is all too real. :(

Diana

Diana, you could be right about Kendra. Still ...

... what if she had a back alley abortion when she was a vil teibolera and she was left sterile? And now, 20 years later, her BSC mind creates a delusional pregnancy ...

This is a telenovela. And twists on maternity and babies lost and found are particularly important here.

Ah well. I guess we'll find out in due time.

Monday morning and I am reading the new comments and re-reading some of the old. I can truly say say that Univision, you have done your job--you've got me hooked. It'
no wonder that you are the #1 network in the US.

KendHo---Several comments on the Amores villains. After reading them all, I agree with the grupo. KendHo is the worst---and she's not done yet. What more can this villain do before the anvil catches her? Can't wait for fate to catch her.

I said it about a week ago and I still think that there will be a Roller Boy Little Orchid pairing. The horror. Maybe he will come to his senses and do a BIG turnaround
in character. I hope so.

Victoria in Texas---Not to worry. Remember Roller Boy still has Little Orchid's picture in his cell phone. That's going to be his undoing. It has to be, what else? At some point very soon, Nikki is going to see the photo and the wedding will be cancled. After that, well you know what will come next. Guzmancito?

Enjoyed reading all the comments, thoughtful and funny.

Now that I've had time to think about it, I'm even more bummed that JA and Vickie had to have their first kiss at the same time that Cris is so distressed. I hope it's a goodbye kiss as some of you have suggested. In my view, Vickie doesn't have any reason to feel guilty about Nelson, but for JA it's a completely different story.

Now that JA needs leverage over Nelson on that DVD, I'm actually hoping KendaHo really is pregnant.

Neice:

I think the Angel has plenty of leverage over the FF. He caught FF and Kendho eating each other's faces when he first starting working for Ms Vikki and he gave Kendho the oddest look on Thursdays epi when Cris mentioned that Kendho was preggers. I think he added the two together. I think that FF stopped threating the Angel during that argument about Ms Vikki and FF being obeyed cause he already knows that the Angel caught him with Kendho once before.

I really do see your point of view as far as Cris is concerned. I feel so very sorry for her. This is really a lot for one woman to handle all at once, and I really can see now why she screamed and was so upset. I think I was a bit too harsh in my assessment of her.

Diana:

I am so hoping Kendho isn't pregnant, but maybe she is. Maybe she is one of the lucky few who never gets fainting spells and morning sickness, lol.

Anon 5:43:

Believe it or not that room of Ms Vikki's is sound proof. They mentioned it in the beginning of this TN. That way she had no distractions when painting or writing. As long as the door is closed that is. That door seems to be open a lot : )

Victoria:

I wish Guzmi and Nikki would just shut up and listen to each other. They are missing half the equation here. If they could just get way from Kendho and Roller Boy, I think they might have half a chance. She definitely doesn't love Roy. The only reason I think she is going thru with this wedding is cause she already told her family, especially Grandpappy that she is getting married, and that now she will forget all about Guzmi, fat chance I say.

Dona Gringuita:

So happy to see you here. I too worry for Cris. I don't want any anvils for her, she has really been through enough. I am hoping that Cris gets to confront both her Mama and Anyballs, but especially her Mama for not telling her.

Doris:

Wouldn't that be something if that kiss were a reverie of either Ms Vikki or the Angel. The writers have fooled us before : ) but I am hoping it really happened : )

Kendho and he who shall remain nameless, I think Kendho is the worst of the two. As Carlos said they are both psychopaths. I so agree with him. Kendho will do anything to remove any obstacle from her path to the FF's "money". In my opinion I don't think she cares a fig for Nelson, she just wants his bennies.

As far as he who shall remain namelss, it's all about control for him. I don't think he really loves Betty either, I think it's all about "owning" her and if he can't have her no one will. Not a spoiler just an observation.

Aribeth:

I can see why you feel that way about JA and Ms Vikki. I really do think they are saying good bye though : )

Mads, thanks for the great recap.

The comments are very insightful, it was a pleasure reading them.
