Gran Final Hour 2 - Parte 1
Capítulo #167

Lo Del Pasado:

When we'd last left DanCam and their posse, Dionisio had just called Daniel to negotiate with him over getting his baby daughter in exchange for his night of passion with Camila and the relinquishing of the ownership of La Malquerida. Camila had decided to help save his baby daughter by giving into Dio’s demands, though Daniel had absolutely forbidden it. Juarez gave them a workable game plan then to avoid Camila’s acceding to Dio’s obscene desires and demands.

Lo Del Nuevo:

At the hospital the ER doctor comes out and announces to Dan that Miriam is a bit up tight but she’s been given something to calm her down. Dan immediate asks about the aneurysm. The long awaited QTH? moment arrives as Dan explains why he’s confused and ER Doc informs them both and--of course--the entire waiting room of concerned friends and family that Miriam doesn’t have any aneurysm whatsoever and never did! ER Doc says he just did another battery of brain tests and is certain of it, in fact.

At the same time, Omar comes in to report to Dio in his hide-out that Issa had a run in with Leoncio who not only burned her hands to nubbins with acid, but also cut her tongue out like she’d done to him. The two share a couple of evil yuk-yuks over her inability now to speak and to ever testify against him or anyone else again. (Cara de muy disturbed de Viewerville. The only thing missing on Omar was a tinier tail, another pitchfork, his own set of horns!)

In the women’s prison’s clinic, Issa receives medical attention and then is released into the general population where, we note, she is dressed now in chic-est of prison dowdy. (Can’t help but wonder if those burned stumps will keep her from doing work assignments.) Issa overhears two inmates discussing how she’d murdered a priest, her own kid, and tried killing her new hubby, plus had planned on selling his ranch out from under him. They laugh at her being harmless now after being maimed [manca=handless, armless, legless, one-armed/one-legged….], delenguanated, and raped. She turns away from them and tears roll down her cheeks. (Viewerville slugs down a double shot of reposado and cheers. ¡Salud! Leoncerdo came through for us after all.)

Back in the hospital waiting area, Dan ‘n Cam deduce that Dr. Valtierra’s false diagnoses had to be Dio’s doing. Mariano suggests a case of blackmail or bribing Dr. Valtierra to get him to lie. ER Doc tells them if they want to lodge a complaint against him, feel free. “—Heck, yeah we’re going to lodge a complaint!!” Amanda and Osvaldo show up asking about Mir and the baby just as Dio calls back on Dan’s cell. Dan follows Juarez’s advice to refuse Cam as part of the deal since Dio has to hand over the M.Q. to Estevez in twenty-four hours or else. He puts the call on speaker and everyone there hears his demands to exchange the kidnapped baby for Cam and the M.Q.. Dan forces Dio to back down and to agree to accept only La Malquerida in exchange for Baby Aggie cuz he will not allow Cam to be part of the deal, period. However, Cam must drive the money there by herself and not dare contact the police! Dan insists afterwards that he’s going along for the ride to protect Cam anyway.

Dan gets permission to speak to Mir in her hospital room and goes in to see her.

The police, meanwhile, search Dio’s house and come across his stack of “security” videos, one of which recorded Issa and Dio grousing with each other and listing in detail all their crimes as well as their various and sundry dirty dealings with each other.

Dan now tells Mir that Dio was the one who kidnapped Agatha, and that she’s fine for now. He tells her what Dio wants in exchange for her. Mir tells him she understands Dio’s blackmail since he knew what Cam and he meant to each other. Dan promises her he’s going along to make sure nothing happens to Aggie and that she comes back unharmed to Mir. Mir admits then that she knows Dan and Cam fell in love with each other and were married, though she can’t understand why everyone kept lying to her about it. He explains it was because at first she was in danger of dying they thought if she heard anything upsetting. Since now he knows that she’s just fine, he says, he’s going to tell her the truth. He starts with the lies Valtierra told him about her condition…..

In the waiting area, Mariano makes a last effort with Cam. He praises her for her love for Dan being so great that she’s risking her own life to save Dan’s baby girl. She’s lost everything, she says, so this is no biggy. Hopefully Dan and his family will be able to start over back in Chile. Mar says she will have the same opportunity, also. Perhaps, but not any time soon, if ever, she says. (Cam, it would seem, doesn’t need her Mariano safety blanket any longer.) Finally she spells it out for Mariano in no uncertain terms. Cam makes it clear to Mariano that their “relationship” is a deep and caring friendship; that they will always be friends, but there will never be anything more than friendship between them. If she opens ups her heart again to somebody, it will be somebody else. He finally gets it and they share a bear hug.

Back in the hospital room, Dan tells Mir that Valtierra was blackmailed by Dio to insure he’d stay with Mir and leave Cam free for himself. Mir asks if Dan stayed with her then out of pity and out of obligation. No, never, he swears, was he ever with her out of pity. He’s speaking to her as honestly as ever he could since her arrival in Mexico, he insists. “--But your love is Camila’s now. I knew that but refused to believe it.” “—I did love you, more than anything else in the world. But, when Abraham told me you were dead I was devastated and I wanted to die! I grabbed onto vengeance because it was the only feeling left that was able to keep me alive. I cursed my luck and I cried; but I knew that nothing was ever going to bring you back alive. It was difficult, … but I buried you in my heart.”

Mir sighs sadly. “—I suppose that’s when Camila entered your life?” He nods slightly. “—I should tell you that it was little by little that I began to fall in love with her. I truly thought that you’d sent her from wherever you were to enable me to start life over again. Then there you were. You’d arrived just as I came back from my honeymoon.” “—Now I understand why you weren’t the same Daniel that I’d married.” Forgive me, but I never meant to hurt you or to betray you, he tells her. She admits she’s hurting inside; but she realizes also, she says, that neither of them are the same as before.”-- And that’s undeniable.” She asks him to have Cam come in to speak with her now. Dan kisses her forehead and the sadness they are drowning in (Thank you, Abe!) begins seeping through the t.v. screen.

Dan returns to the lounge area and tells Cam Mir wants to see her and, that he’s told her the whole truth about the two of them and their relationship together. When Cam comes back they’ll head to the meeting with Dio. Cam leaves and Dan takes Mariano aside. Dan asks him for a gun. (Dun-duhn-duhnnnn!)

At the police station, Juarez and Becerra finish the transfer documents and their lodging the formal complaint against Dio’s forcing them to cede rights to the M.Q. under duress. Juarez mentions he’s sending a group of agents to secretly back up Cam and Dan when they meet with Dionisio. The videotape the cops found is brought to Juarez.

Back in Mir’s hospital room, she thanks Cami for risking her life to save her baby girl. Cam says the baby is an innocent bystander in all of this, so there’s nothing heroic about it. Mir admits then that she knows the whole truth of their relationship and the misinformation about her physical condition. She’d says she’d have preferred hearing it from one or the other of them as soon as she arrived, but it makes no difference now. Cam admits Mir is the one who got the worst of the deal, but that she loves Dan with all her heart. And the baby’s rescue comes first and foremost. “—But offering up your ranch…” There’s nothing to thank her for, Cam insists, because she’s only interested in making sure Dionisio Ferrer goes to jail for the rest of his life because of all the harm he did to her mother and all the rest of it.

Across town, Juarez and his detectives watch Dio’s incriminating video. “—With the evidence on this tape, Dionisio Ferrer with never see the light of day [luz del sol] again!”

It’s O.J. revisited as we get an aerial shot of DanCam’s white truck heading to the meeting site.

~~Parte 2 al Fin of Hour 2 of Grand Final~~

Cam is driving and Dan is directing. He tells her to stop a minute so he can hide before they drive up. The last thing he wants is Dio to know he’s there so they’re unable to take him by surprise. “—Aren’t you going to negotiate the way Juarez said?” “—No. Dionisio won’t negotiate and I want to make sure you and Agatha are safe and sound!.” He tells her that once the exchange has been made she’s to jump into the truck and race out of their like a bat out of hell. She hesitates cuz she doesn’t want to leave him alone with Dio. Dan explains that the police have to know that she and Aggie are out of danger before they can take any action. “—No! I’m not going to leave you alone with Dionisio!” “—DO WHAT I TELL YOU!” Gawd knows why but the woman finally shuts up and puts her brain on autopilot.

Pablo has made it to the compound in Chiapas and Aaron tells him how much Luzma’s progressed. His being there will be the best medicine yet. Aaron leaves and Pablo joins Luzma by a beautiful waterfall. They kiss hello. She’s missed him she says. He tells her that Leoncerdo’s been penned up in prison again and will never get loose again. He explains how and why he’s there when she thought he’d be unable to locate her. Mayalen gave in when she realized he was a one-woman man and nothing and nobody could ever make him forget his Luzma. They kiss again and here are able to consummate their eternal passion by the falls on a muddy patch of earth. (In all honesty I think Burt Lancaster and Deborah Kerr had a much more comfy and sophisticated time of it, don’t you?)

Back on the way to rescue Aggie, Dan tells Cam how grateful he is for her helping to save his daughter’s life. “—Never forget I love you.” She tells him it’s not necessary to thank her and that she loves him with all her heart. He caresses her neck and she rubs her cheek on his hand. Finally they get close and she lets him out of the truck so he can sneak around for a better look at things unnoticed. Cam is waived inside a huge warehouse and the exchange looks like it’s going to be made. Dio, tho’, pulls a fast one and hands the baby back to Omar who drives away with her and the other henchmen. Dio grabs Cam by force at gunpoint when she refuses. “—Dan will get the baby but YOU are coming with me!” He throws her into his SUV and starts to drive away. Somewhere in here Dan sneaks in with his gun and races over to the driver’s side window and jumps on for dear life. He tries stopping Dio. Dio, who wants to finish him off once and for all, stops the vehicle and gets out. It’s nothing but a massive beat down at this point, with Dan getting the upper hand with more than a few right hooks and jabs. Dan knocks Dio down as his gun has been thrown free.

Dio somehow pulls out from under and secretly grabs a rock. When Dan comes after him Dio throws a surprise punch with the rock and Dan goes down. Dio hits Dan on the head with a second heavy blow and Dan is down for the count. Dio retrieves his gun and aims. He pauses a moment to catch his breath while Dan, on his knees now, faces his would-be executioner and waits for the coup de grace. Suddenly a shot rings out and Dio grimaces. Faltering, he drops the gun and looks around. Cam has shot him in the shoulder with Dan’s gun. The police, meanwhile, have been waiting around the corner and captured the henchmen and Omar.

A few minutes later we see the ambulance and police swarming all over the area where all the action just took place. A beaten and bloodied Dio peers through a swollen black eye at DanCam. DanCam look over at him and then at each other. The nightmare that was Dio is now over. There’s a sigh of relief. They embrace and share a passionate kiss. It’s the last thing Dio sees before being driven off in the paddy wagon, and he’s seething.

Back at Dan and Mir’s apartment, the gang’s all there. (My, my! Mir is looking chic and sexy in a pair of slimming jeans and bolero jacket. Mar can’t get enough of her I do believe.) They eagerly await DanCam and Aggie as she explains how she’s been physically fine this entire time and Valtierra lied about her condition. Juarez tells the group that he’s writing up his report and tomorrow the case will be closed.

Finally DanCam and Aggie make their appearance and everybody cheers. Mir asks them to join her for a private convo in the bedroom. Once there, she tells them how grateful she is. They apologize for her and Aggie’s victimization courtesy of Dio. Mir says it’s not their fault for all the garbage Dio threw their way. Besides, life and destiny, they all agree have their way with everybody. Things change. She knows that Dan and Cam never meant for her to be hurt or deceived. It just happened. “—Our life and marriage together was marvelous and I’ll love you all my life. I love you for who you are and the way you are. But what we shared as a couple I now have with Camila.” Mir realizes this and says she won’t be an impediment. This chapter in their lives is over. Mir and Dan agree to check in every couple months so that Dan can continue to be a part of Aggie’s life, either here or in Chile. Dan tells her the two of them will never lack for anything. He’ll be the best daddy ever!

At the prison, meanwhile, Dio is getting patched up in the clinic and Juarez lists the ton of charges against him and then tells him he’ll never see the light of day again. Dio sneers and grimaces. “—You aren’t going to be able to prove any of that.” “—No, that’s where you’re wrong, Sr. Ferrer! We have all the evidence, including your breech of trust you committed against Sra. Agustina Santos, so you might as well get used to your new home.” He leaves and a moment later Leoncerdo comes ambling by. He does a double-take when he sees Dio Ferrar sitting there. Leo gets this insane grin on his face and thinks to himself as he stares over at Dio. “—Welcome to Hell! You’re a dead man, Don Dionisio!” Dio has a sudden look of recognition in both black eyes and tears begin to stream down his face. (Viewerville downs another trago. Salud! )

And, somewhere in the bowels of Mexico, Yago sits in a bar and cries in his last remaining beer. He can’t buy another cuz he’s got no money. He wants a drink so badly that he trades his watch to the bartender to pay his bill and for a final, single bottle of hooch.

Mir and Abe are at the airport. He’s apologizing for his rash actions and the way it broke up Mir’s marriage. Mir tells him not to bother cuz she and Daniel would have gone their separate ways eventually, anyway. She’s accepted it and it’s cool. He mentions that Gaston has started the paperwork for the divorce and that it'll be easy enough since she and Dan agree on it. Dan comes back to them and tells them everything’s been checked and they’ve got their tickets. They’re ready to go, he says. Just then Mariano and Ana appear to say good-bye. Ana tells her joyfully that she and daddy have bought tickets for a trip to Chile to visit her and Aggie next month! They’ll be there for an entire week! A knowing look passes between Abe and Dan. Mar and Mir look into each other’s eyes and flirtatious sparks finally fly.

Down Chiapas way once more, Amanda and Osvaldo are getting married. Natalia, looking nearly ready to pop, is putting the chain around them when Rodolfo sneaks up and asks if she needs help with that. “—Wh-what are you doing here?” He explains about his dream. It was so real. I knew then that my place was with you and your baby, whichever way you want, but with you and forevermore. Nat doesn’t look upset in the least.

Back at the M.Q., Cam is enjoying another bubble bath. Dan appears and asks if he can join her. He doesn’t have to ask twice. (Sorry, Al!) There’ll always be room in her tub, her life and her heart. Dan jumps in and we fade to dark.

A few days later, Roman takes first honors during his middle school graduation. He gets to be the flag bearer. He’s won a scholarship! All the family friends are there to help celebrate the honor with the three of them. FF>>

Months later, there’s a formal presentation and celebration at the M.Q. because of Amor Bravio going into it’s third edition. We take a look around and note that M&M are now a couple, and DanCam are expecting (though Viewerville notes their wedding rings are mysteriously absent). Yup. “--Record sales! It’s become a best seller!” And Rafa owes it all to DanCam, he says, cuz it’s their story, after all. “--Like the hero and heroin of the story, they and their fierce love triumphed through all adversity; it’s a story like theirs in which the heart reigns.” Next off, DanCam unveil a plaque hung at the entrance to the hacienda, in honor of the occasion, that says in huge letters: AMOR BRAVIO. Applause all around.

The crowd and guest of honor now leave for the picnic lunch in the garden. DanCam remain and pledge their love and loyalty till the end of their days and beyond.

So Leoncio was.. uhh... "capaz" of raping Isa *after* he melted her hands and de-tongued her? He's even sicker than I knew.

Wow Jardinera that was fast! Great recap so far! Can't wait for the rest! Such an exciting episode! I've seen TN's where the action took place too early and the last episode is all lovey dovey but this TN was a roller coaster all throughout. I loved it! That being sad though I think we missed out on some good lovey dovey stuff. I would have loved to see more of Amanda and Os' wedding and a second cam and Dan wedding. Oh and I LOVE the title Jardinera, it's perfect!

*said (typing too excitedly)

I too was surprised by that revelation that Isa was raped. Ugh! Leoncerdo was truly a sicko. But I did laugh at your "salud!" leo came through for us afterall lol!

Oh and how is it that he was just casually roaming the halls, taking a stroll and runs into Dio? He should have been locked up in his cell!

We did not get to see enough of Dio's karmageddon, he deserved much worse, though by his tears I think we're being led to believe he's in hell.

Good work, Jardinera. This was a hell of a finale.

Agree with Lily; WTF was Leoncerdo doing in the halls? He should have been in his cage. Uness this is Oz and they're in Cell Block 5...

I don't know what worse fate there could be for Dionicio, who probably had never seen the inside of a prison before this. He will be vulnerable until his shoulder heals, since he's right-handed. He must also be experiencing total humiliation that the shot came from Camila, whom he had intended to violate.

Thanks, J. You must have been up half the night. Satisfying finale and very satisfying recap with more to come.

Jardinera- Saturday mornings and weekends have been such a pleasure over the last months because I know I have one of your amazingly detailed and clever recaps to look forward to. I especially love the way you give it to us piece by piece, so that there’s always something new when we check back in. Thank you for always giving us your best effort.

I’ll comment more later once the whole recap is up, but I have to say how much I loved the fact that Cam shot Dion. Then I love how she walked up supporting her (surely concussed) man with one arm, and holding his baby with the other, head held high. And time for a tender kiss, just to stick it to Dion just a little more. Yay!

I heard that tell tale skip of music and knew that the censors had done it to us one last time during the final love scene in the bathtub. But alas, Univision has done a sweep of all AB finale videos on YouTube. I’m going to keep looking though. I know someone must have snuck in that final love scene somewhere.

I did find a video for a finale special that HOY did with the whole cast of AB after it ended in Mexico. It reminded me of those post finale Cristina specials we used to watch and recap along with the finales. I think I’m going to finish watching it and recap and post it, either late today or tomorrow.

Here is the finale special with the AB cast: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FMgAVYmKpwk

I didn't think Isa was raped either but it would explain the way she was walking down the road before the police picked her up.

Hurray! All three are in prison so they can experience hell on earth.

I have to say this is the best novela I've ever seen.

Wow Jardinera; perfect title and perfect part one.

It didn't surprised me that Leoncio raped Isa by the way he was slobbering all over her face and once at the beginning he had made a pass at Isa, she was completely repulsed by his advances.

Once again Uni robbed us out of beautiful love scene.

The only thing I would have loved to see was the news of Cam-n-Dan being preggers--a scene of Cam find out, her excitment, her telling Dan and their mutual joy would have been perfect... but alas I just have to imagine it.

I think Can-n-Dan marriage was never officially voided and annulled because they never filed any paperwork to the Church and the Courts. Since Mir and Dan will now get divorced, Dan-n-Cam marriage remains valid.

Hissadora being raped definitely explains why she was in the bed as opposed to still being tied up in the chair. When I saw her in the bed I remember thinking WTF?

Love that Camila kissed Daniel right in front of El Diablo. Let that be his last -- and most lasting -- image of them.

Vivi- Thanks for posting the HOY episode. Just watched five minutes of it with Olivia B. (Augustina) and it was fun.

I figure that the Cam-Dan baby is little Augustina or Daniel.

Only thread not tied up was Piedad's cancer diagnosis. Perhaps in Mexico, given the timing, they came to a resolution. I guess we are supposed to conclude that all was well. Also, I don't think I saw Rudolfo and Nati back at LaMal. He said he'd love her wherever, so perhaps we are supposed to assume that they might have stayed in Chiapas. She looked very cute and pregnant her mother's wedding.

Of course you all noticed the looks Abe and Dan exchanged at the airport when Miriam and Mariano were interacting. Nice, neat resolution.

I thought maybe Isa was stumbling down the road b/c Leoncio had also burned her feet, not because he had raped her. This just proves what a sicko he is. I think Isa will become the demon in the women's jail the other prisoners say she is and she'll probably die in a prison fight.

Miriam has dignity when it came to Dan, much more than Mariano's dignity when it came to Cam.

I think Dionicio will have some sordid nights of passion in prison with Leoncio, that's why he was crying.

This is the 2nd novela I've seen where the 2 leads did not have a big fluffy wedding at the end. I don't think they jumped too far in time (maybe only a couple of months). I'm basing the small time jump on Agatha...she appeared to still be a small (non walking) infant and Teresa appeared to be still pregnant:

I don't think Dan/Cam were married at the end (neither were wearing wedding bands) and I think she got pregnant on their honeymoon but b/c of the stress of Miriam returning, Dio/Isa after them and Agustina's arrest & suicide, she didn't realize it. And you know if it's a girl it will be named "Agustina."

Vivi/Rafa: still not married but parents of Roman.

Pablo/Luzma: back together

Osvaldo/Amanda: married

Natalia: still pregnant and maybe with Rodolfo (although a] why was Natalia still at the community even though Dio was in jail b]if I was Rodolfo I'd always think in the back of my head that Natalia was only with me b/c she wanted a father for her child.

Malquerida is now Amor Bravio

Miriam/Mariano: getting to know each other during trips to each other's countries. They were definitely googly eyeing each other at the airport.

I'm glad they didn't have everything wrapped up in a neat bow in the end. You know how things will turn out but it hasn't occurred yet:

You know Vivi, Rafa & Roman will make a happy family whether Vivi/Rafa eventually marry or not.

You know Dan/Cam will eventually remarry {although is their first marriage valid since Miriam is getting the divorce?)

You know Miriam/Mariano will get together, & Miriam will move to Mexico & be Ana's new mom.

I think it was "easy" for Miriam to give up Daniel in the end b/c he had killed her "in love" with him w/his preoccupation with his real wife, Camila.

LOL @ Yago being a drunk bum giving up the expensive watch for a drink. Cayetano knew Yago would never amount to anything and that's why he so quickly told Amanda/his family about his plan to give Yago's inheritance to Natalia & her baby.

Also the police found Isa stumbling down the road, bloody, stumpy hands etc. They knew what Leo had done to her but threw her in the back of the squad car and drove away.

In contrast, Dio was shot & they had the EMT there giving him medical attention before arresting him and taking him to jail.

Love the listing out of the resolutions Aon207. I also like how everything wasn't tied up in a neat bow, but we could clearly see that everyone (except the villains and Yago) were on their way to a happily ever after, even if they weren't quite there yet.

I'm not worried about Nat-Rod. I have no doubt she will fall in love with him for real. How could she not?

The police likely brought the ambulance along for Agatha, Cam and Dan, if anything happened to them. Plus they knew Dion would be surrounded by armed men and there could be a shoot out with multiple injuries. The cop car that found Isa was just one of many out looking for her that just happened to find her. They wouldn't have had a reason to have an abulance trailing every single squad car that was out looking for her.

As for why Nat would stay in Chiapas, it sounded like she found some real use helping the community with their accounting (that's what Luzma said she was off doing doing when Aaron asked after her at dinner). And perhaps Rod can use his capataz skills to help the community too. It would represent a fresh start for them and something they could do together. In reality, Florencia/Natalia was already off filming her next telenovela where she's starring as the main villainess, so she just wasn't available for many of the final scenes. Otherwise, I think they would have shown her and Rod at the 3rd Edition book release event at Rancho MQ-- now Rancho Amor Bravio.

I almost felt like the ending set this up for a sequel, i.e. Amor Bravio Part 2 featuring Pablo and LuzMa with Yago as the bad guy after he has hit bottom and comes up the from the gutter on the wrong side of the law.

Yesterday was my birthday, so my son called me right after Leo thought-threatened Dio. Happily, I was taping. The fight scene in fast-forward becomes much more realistic.

Thanks for all the recaps J. I need them, because while I catch the large things, I miss the small things, i.e. that Isa was raped.

Cindy

The difference in handling Isadora and Dionisio makes sense. If Isadora was going to bleed out, she'd have done it (or choked on the clot) before and she was on some random country road after having been dumped. They may have seen what had been done to her, but they would have also heard what she had done. For Dionisio, they had the heavy response team ready and the ambulance was probably pre-positioned around the corner in case anyone got shot.
Just how old is Isadora? Will there be a little Isadora/Leoncio Jr. who grows up to avenge its poor, misunderstood parents' fates in AB II?

They did show Piedad & Hipolito at Rafa's book signing & at the renaming of the ranch so I guess we're to assume Piedad is in good health (since she appeared to have a full head of hair).

I guess Cayetano truly knew his son Yago, which is why he gave half of Yago's inheritance to Natalia/bebe Albarran. *WHY* didn't Yago immediately pawn Dio's watch for money to live off of? Not only won't Yago take responsibility for Natalia/baby, he won't even take responsibility for HIMSELF.

I wish there had been a line from Cayetano mentioning thanking Iliana for getting the drops & apologizing to her for his treatment (although that likely saved her life).

Alonso was 34 years old when he died. Isadora was probably about 15-18 years older than Alonso, putting her in her late 40s/early 50s. I doubt there will be a Leoncio Jr. around.

I like the idea of Amor Bravio 2, starring Pablo/Luzma/Pablo Jr. and Yago as the bad guy.

Anon207- Cayetano did say he was going to contact Iliana and thank her for saving his life when he was with his sons in the hospital.

Yago, who thinks he's a "winner", will end up a loser on the mean streets of Mexico City. The only question is, how long will he let his pride keep him from returning to his family for help/support?

Tks for part uno Jar

Again, I want to say how much Urban, Paquita, Mena, 5ft & Jar are appreciated. So important to our enjoyment. Mil Gracias to all.

When Leo saw Dio, he said "welcome to hell".

Isa gave the gossipy inmates a cold look & they immediately turned & went the other way. Isa is down but will be top dog of the cell block.

I thought Cayo gave 1/2 of Yago's inheritance to Nat y bebe. He wasn't left penniless. Yago was determined to return as señor big shot to show them. We can see how that is working out.

I was surprised we didn't see Nat y Rodolfo y bebe at the book celebration.

But Cayetano's not dead yet, so there's nothing to inherit yet. Plus both Pablo and Mariano are gainfully employed.

Yago could've sold Dio's watch, lived off the money and gotten a job in Mexico City. But he didn't want to do that. He wants things the easy way, which is why Cayetano knew Yago would never accept responsibility for Natalia & the baby and pledged to give them half of Yago's inheritance.

First, Thank you, mil gracias a todo to all the recappers for the splendid recapping of AB. It was captivating, although at times hard to watch. I appreciate all your hard work. I haven't been able to comment much due to family issues, but rely on the recaps and comments to keep me up to date when I am unable to watch.
I liked that the boda at the end was Oz and Amanda. Too many tns have the classic lead protagonist bodas and this was a refreshing change. I also liked the inference of resolution for all the couples and/or potential couples rather than things being tied up in a neat package. There will be healing and growth for all (except Yago). As for all of our villians, they are all where they need to be - en la carcel!! Death may have been quicker and more efficient, but hopefully each of them will suffer greatly while incarcerated.
I loved that Camilla shot Dio! I also see the Miriam/Camilla scene as a rarity in tns. No jealousy, but a mature talk about what was and what is now. No hysteria, just a calm conversation.
It is hard when a good tn comes to an end. We have been fortunate to have two back to back Silvia Navarro tns to keep us satisfied. I just hope we can make it through the double Meja menu up next.
Mil gracias a toto.

Thanks so much, Jardinera. Weekends have been a special pleasure since this telenovela began, since I could eagerly look forward to your outstanding recaps. Your verbal skills are amazing and delightful. I'll miss them in the coming months, since I'll be switching over to Telemundo to watch "El Señor de los Cielos."

I should note that I loved your title and your comment re Omar: "The only thing missing on Omar was a tinier tail, another pitchfork, his own set of horns!" Yes, alas, no redemption for him.

Watching "El Señor de los Cielos" is going to be a real challenge, since I won't have the immense benefit of detailed daily recaps. I tried watching this last episode of AB without looking at the Spanish captions, and I missed a depressing amount, including the fact that LeonCerdo had raped Hissa. Also, when Dan calls Mariano aside to ask a favor, I couldn't understand why he was asking for a soul (I heard "alma" instead of "arma"). Sigh.

As others have already said, I enjoyed the fact that Dio was shot by Camila, and that his last glimpse of her was her standing lovingly next to Dan and baby Agata. I also found it highly appropriate that the evidence to convict Dio would come in large part from the videotaping he had set up in his house.

UA, yes, I certainly noticed the Meaningful Exchange of Looks between Abraham and Dan at the airport. I was a little disappointed that they exchanged Meaningful Looks at least three times. Had this not been the Gran Final, I think the normally more clever writers would have been content to have just one such exchange to signal the developing relationship between Miriam and Mariano. That's one of the things I've appreciated most about this TN--it's much fresher and less telenovela_ish than most TNs. But I guess in the final episode, they felt they have to be sure we Get It.

All in all, one of the very best TNs I've ever seen, and the very best set of recappers. Muchísimas gracias a todas.

Jardinera, you really did this one up right. What a finale. So untypical in so many ways, but so satisfying. the demonic fates were pretty gross and graphic. Both villains shed tears, but El Sordido was walking around the joint like he owned the place. True evil.

Natalia looked really pregnant (as in real-life pregnant for the actress). No fake pillows there, or am I nuts?. Do we know if this is true for her?

What was that with Miriam handing off the budgekin after her first little whimper. This is a mother who nearly lost her child and she can't hold her in her own arms for more than two minutes? But I gotta say Caridad has an engaging smile. Too bad we didn't ever get to see her in some attractive civvies.

OK gripes aside, may I congratulate you and your compañeras on the recap team for a completely over-the-top accomplishment. I've only been intermittently present for all this, but the quality has set a new standard. You and Kat, Paquita, Mena and UA made an incredible team. I will miss this novela and my beloved daily read from all of you. I'm thinking of heading over to the other network after this. Even though I'm tempted by Jorge Salinas, my tv viewing time is somewhat limited so I have to choose.

Agnes- No, Florencia/Nat was not pregnant in real life. She had to go off to become a blonde villainess in her current telenovela, which started filming before AB ended.

LXV, I'm so glad you mentioned Miriam's handing off the newly-returned Agata so quickly. I was so struck by this when I saw it that I later went back and timed how long she held the baby before passing her on to Caridad--it was about 30 seconds!! I couldn't believe it. She's supposedly worried sick about her baby, and yet when she finally gets her back, she doesn't hold her for even a minute. I've liked Miriam, but this made me wonder whether the Miriam-critics had more of a point than I had seen.

It's all done and ready for the final read. Thanks again to all of you who weekly fed our little group of recappers with praises and lots of thoughtful discussions.

=====
Welcome to the new lurkers who have finally decided to take a screen name and join us! HOpe you'll be along for the QBA ride.

I'll be watching both tn's-Cielos and QBA. I must be nutz er somthin'! My VCR's will be doing double duty.
=====
I thought the ending was satisfying enough, and we did have a boda, tho' not the stereotypical one, huh? True, Mir was a gallant lady who knew when to fold her romantic/marital hand, unlike the sicko villanas we normally see. That was a pleasant change of pace. Of course, I'm sure having the ministrations of macho Mariano Alberran and a ready-made family help ease her pain quite nicely! Exchanging one hunk for another. Nice if you can manage it!

Jardinera - Many, many thanks. See you at El senor and despite myself will probably lurk at QBA.

The Hoy special is delightful. Just finished. Well worth a look! I don't want to steal Vivi's thunder if she is nice enough to recap, but someone on the cast is a total flirt!!!! Big time.

Jardinera - Muchas gracias for part 1. It's a joy to relive the finale through your recap.

5ft - Thanks a bunch for the fantastic recap yesterday, just got caught up.

I see Yago as the prodigal son, only returning to his family when he hits rock bottom. He's not evil, just weak.

I too loved that it was Camila who shot Dio. Loved the way that, even though she's a medical pressional, Cam walked right by Dio - without checking the damage she'd done - to get to Dan.

oops, that is "medical professional"

Tks for the Hoy link, haven't finished it, thought Amanda was never going to shut up. Yago looked cute, he needs to play a good guy.

Very hard to imagine Nat as a villain, do you know the name of the TN?

I'll stand up for Miriam again, just imagine the load Agatha was carrying, I didn't see any diaper changing by Dio o Omar.

CdlF & Jorge Salinas are going to be on Sabado Gigante tonight.

Jardinera,
Thank you for being our escort on a long and satisfying journey. For all that I appreciate Urban's getting us off to a quick start with her instantaneous Mondays, I found that I also enjoyed slo-jam Saturdays as well, chewing over each slice of recap as it came out.
Each recapper brought depth of knowledge, careful attention to key details and, of course, wonderful wit. Plus that special element that even an exceptional TN like AB requires, snark.
It has been suggested that the more cliched and overwrought the TN, the better the recaps, but you all have disproven that. Trash may offer easier targets, but your aim was true, giving serious consideration to our characters' fates and choices when appropriate and recognizing, and sniping at, outrageous coincidences and other beanie moments when hilarious.
The community of commenters added the occasional actual correction, but more often additional perspectives or interpretations. The level of dialog was remarkably high, and I have no idea how Caray Caray manages to maintain an atmosphere of mutual respect while being open to anonymous posters from the internet at large with only the rarest of administrative deletions. I gather that this is Caray-wide, not just the case with AB, but it deserves note here since each sub-blog does have its own tone.
And a word to the omni-present Vivi in DC. In addition to your perceptive comments here, you have been a source of amazing recall, not only of events earlier in our story, but also of resonances with other telenovelas. If you truly have that kind of memory with regard to your day job and life in general, you are blessed indeed. And even if you are "just" a telenovela savant, we are blessed by your contributions.
This was my first TN, and I seem to have picked a good one. (My girlfriend has introduced me to the DVD versions of Corazon Salvaje (93) and Alborado but while I wouldn't want to pay for 100 hours plus or sit through all of a serial's content in concentrated viewing, the commercial releases are cut too severely for them to count.) I need to go concentrate on Destinos so that I have a chance of understanding a bit more when I try to "really" watch my next TN
Thanks Jardinera, and thanks to all the ABers,
Chris in FL

I loved the ending! They hinted enough at the couplings and futures and didn't need to show it in detail. Awards for these writers! And producers!

And a Golden Caray Award for Capitan Juarez for Most Effective Cop in a Telenovela, Ever.

I think Yago probably got hit by a car as he stumbled out of the bar. I would have hoped that he could go to Spain, become a mid-level matador, and get his act together, but probably not. Too much hurt pride.

Natalia and Rodolfo stay while Pablo and Luzma (thank you subtle Waterfall of Love) come back to the ranch. Aaron finds himself a nice native girl and they raise a couple of free-range kids there on the kibbutz. Teresa and Dante stay together but don't get married, just to annoy her brother. And hopefully someone starts a sex ed class in Roman's high school.

Outstanding show and excellent recapping! I'm sorry to see it all go, but like Miriam we're on to the next one.

Kelly

So sad that this has ended. Thank you Jardinera for all your hard work for our weekend discussions. It's been a fun time.

I'm not an eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth person and I definitely don't agree with torture, so I can't feel good about what happened to Isadora. It's all so sickening.

I do however feel good about Dion's demise. But I am sure that he will get by just fine in prison with his ability to wheel and deal and bribe.

I think that for the sake of time and the last episode, Miriam had to wrap things up quickly for the writers so she handed Agatha off to Caridad right away in order to have that important talk with Dan and Camila.

I think that bathtube scene is when Camila got impregnated.

I guess the therapy worked for Luzma. Seemed like she and Pablo got it on in the jungle.

After criticizing CdeLaF's acting in the deathbed scene, he totally nailed it in his talk with Miriam. He had me crying at his frank emotions and sincerity.

Wow, Florencia who played Nat is 30?!?
If she can pull off a completely convincing naive girl experiencing first love, she will probably be able to manage villany. After all, she is fresh off a master class working with Leticia and Cesar.
CinF

Jardinera thanks so much for this recap and being our weekend guide to AB. I hope to see you soon though don't know if I'll be watching QBA.

Add me to the list of those who didn't realize Isa got raped. The lack of tongue and mangled hands seemed enough.

It was great that Cam was the one who shot Dio. Cesar played the part well b/c he/Dio actually looked shocked she did it. He held onto his delusions until the end and was giving a parting image that will haunt him in jail (Cam kissing Dan with Agatha). And his run-in with Leo was perfect.

I too liked that unusual boda choice and the implications of future couples. The looks between Dan and Abe were funny.

Jardinera, I really appreciate the way you wrapped this up for us. I so enjoy your irreverent wry wit...and for quite a few years now, having a drink with Jardinera has become a weekend highlight I eagerly look forward to.

This has certainly been one of the best TNs ever. Every bit as entertaining as watching the show itself has been observing the passions some of the characters managed to arouse in many of us who have been commenting here.

I thought the gran final was very satisfying but one scene I would have loved to see would have been Dionysio being shown that video of him and Isadora discussing and enumerating their various crimes...oops!

I smiled at Dan during the Rafa's book thing at the very end. Not only does he slump when he's standing, he manages to slump when he sits.

Also it looked as though the lady sitting next to Aarón and just in front of Román was enjoying the event. She came dangerously close to spilling her wine.

Carlos

Traveling Lady - Oh I will be talking about the flirting.

I don't think Yago will ever return to the Albarran fold until Cayetano's dead:

He's not that close with Mariano.

He hates Pablo for usurping his place in the family.

He blames Rocio for why he couldn't be the favorite son.

Now Cayetano's taking his future money away and giving it to some outsider.

He certainly does not care about his own child's wellbeing. (which is why Cayetano pledged the money to Natalia/baby).

The only way Yago will come back is when Cayetano dies, and that will only be to collect his inheritance and then he will leave again, provided he doesn't die in a ditch from a drunken stupor.

How does his wife let him out of the house?? Unless you meant the flirt was the male host who kept toughing Cesar Evora's leg. Can't blame him though. That laugh would draw in anyone.

Kelly

Kelly, I loved your idea of a "Golden Caray Award for Capitan Juarez for Most Effective Cop in a Telenovela, Ever." Of course, he wouldn't have much competition. :-)

I also loved your closing line: "I'm sorry to see it all go, but like Miriam we're on to the next one." Amen.

Cathyx, I'm not so sure that Dio will be able to "wheel and deal and bribe" in prison, since he'll probably be flat broke. I would imagine/hope that whatever money he has left will be confiscated to compensate people he has defrauded or hurt.

Thanks to everybody, recappers and commenters alike. I have enjoyed this TN and this blog immensely. Too bad that I had to miss being around the last few weeks, but I have had no time at all, and could only watch online and between the poor sound quality on my laptop and the lack of subtitles, I missed a lot. I've read on the site as much as I could, but I missed a lot of the emotional impact, I am afraid. However, I did get the see the "uncut" bathtub scene, and it was very nice. :) I am not sure what I will be watching next, though I hope that QBA is not too awful and I really hope to see any and all of you around the site once again.
Carolina

Thank you Jardinera, 5ft, Paquita, Mena, and Urban for a very enjoyable ride!

All in all, it was a satisfying final episode. But I don't think Leo was punished enough for the horrible things he did. And I would have liked to have known the results of Piedad's mammograph. And as for Isa, how the heck did she put her eye makeup on for that last scene?

Fabulous Part 2 Jardinera. I was very satisfied with the ending and all the future possibilities laid out for our characters. I am only disappointed that it looks like Leo will continue to have fun in prison. At least it will be at the expense of Dio. And I am trusting Juarez that escaping from the new prison won't be so easy for Leo, or any of our bad guys.

Thank you for the wonderful recap! Beanie moment tho, how long was Luzma in Chiapas for?Did they do a time jump for her and Pablo? Otherwise she was in Chiapas for like a day and was cured in like half a day!

Thank you, Jardinera. Great recap! And thank you for the early recap because I did not have to be in suspense. If you saw me with my pen and pad and my iPhone app, iTranslate, you'd feel sorry for me. It's a long slow process with a lot of rewinding!

Thanks to all of you: UA, Paquita, Mena, 5ft & Jardinera. Your recaps mean everything to me! I'd also like to thank all of you for your comments. SLOWLY, I am learning some Spanish.

Now why are so many people going to watch "El Señor de los Cielos" without recaps?

Ellie, judging by the size of Nat's belly, the therapy has been going on awhile.

That's Luzma's Therapy

I enjoyed this final episode of Amor Bravio. It will always remain my favorite telenovela. Also, I enjoyed the fight scene between Dionisio and Daniel. Dionisio is finally in jail where he belongs with Leoncio. I also enjoyed where those two ladies were making fun of Isadora.

Every good person got their happy ending especially Pablo & Luzma. Finally they made love without any problem. Seemed her faith in herself worked as well as therapy and the news about her perverted uncle being incarcerated again.

Ay, Jardinera! What a whirlwind...they really packed it all in on this last episode, didn't they! And you handled it beautifully :D

My thoughts....

I still want to imagine that Omar left those specific security tapes behind on purpose to take over his boss' enterprise. That he was so steamed over Hipolito not getting any actual evidence on the night of the bachelorette party or during his attempted break-in, that he conveniently forgot that one bit of evidence when Dio told him to pack everything up.

Of all the things to piss me off during that botched exchange scene, the thing that pissed me off the most was how carelessly the goons were driving with the baby in the backseat NOT in a proper car seat. What can I say...not buckling up the kids properly is a pet peeve of mine. Damn goons!

I agree with those who were baffled that Leo was wandering the halls. That's what they call "high-security"? But since he was only threatened with solitary if he didn't tell them where he'd left Isadora, maybe that's supposed to be the explanation?

Miriam and Mariano at the airport with Dan and Abe looking on...my interpretation of Dan's facial expressions: "Dude, are you, uh, hitting on my wife? I mean, that's cool if you are, but, seriously, I'm standing right here. While you hit on my wife. Weren't you hitting on my other wife, like, yesterday? What is it with you and my wives? Well, if you want her, you have my blessing, but...see this guy standing here? Hands down THE MOST overprotective brother EVER. Do not so much as look at her wrong or this guy will make your life hell...he is not messing around!"

Yago sitting in the bar...first off, DUMBASS! That watch is worth way more than a bottle of booze. Second...for some reason, seeing him sitting there all pathetic, with no cash, when he's accustomed to having money and he's a bit of a pretty boy and doesn't have a whole lot of scruples, it suddenly hit me...gigolo! I think Yago, with his fine upbringing and good looks, could adequately grace the arm and bed of any woman with the cash to pay his outrageous fees.

And finally, the tub...I had to confess to Mr. 5ft that while he always has room in my heart and my life, there is sure as hell not room for him in my tub. There's barely room for me in my tub! Perhaps I need to look into getting a bigger tub.

The recap of the HOY cast interview is up! Enjoy.

Kat- LOL at your whole comment. Loved your take on what those looks Dan was giving meant.

Gran Final Final:

Highpoints:

Finally the Scoobies find out Miriam does not have a brain aneurysm.
Isa’s punishment is complete.
Juarez’s plan is in place for Dan to turn over LMQ, and only LMQ for the Budgekin.
The police find a tape of Isa and Dio recounting each of their crimes to the other.
Dan explains to Miriam why everyone has lied to her.
Cam tells Mariano, even if she is ready to move on, it will not be with him and they will always have a very deep friendship. Mariano takes it well (his feelings already having started changing).
Miriam and Dan finally have the truthful discussion about each other’s feelings.
Juarez plans on sending backup to help Cam and Dan.
Cam and Miriam’s heartfelt conversation.
The tape will keep Dio in jail forever.
Luz’s being able to finally tell someone her entire story, being away from Pablo with all the guilt she felt, being in a peaceful and beautiful place and being away from where her horrific experience happened has allowed her to finally make love with Pablo.
Dan and Cam touchy feely moments in the car.
Dan gives Dio the beat down of his life (guess Dio shouldn’t have dismissed all his thugs).
Cam shoots Dio.
The police capture Omar and the Budgekin is saved.
Dio sees Dan and Cam (with the Budgekin) kiss.
Cheers for Dan, Cam and the Budgekin as they return her to her mother.
Dan tells Miriam that he loves her and always will, but his life is with Cam.
Miriam graciously bows out.
Miriam and Dan agree to keep in constant touch so he can be an active part of the Budgekin’s life.
Dio sees Leo and realizes his days are numbered.
Yago trades his watch so he can drink himself stupid(er).
Abe apologizes to Miriam.
Mariano and Ana come to say goodbye to Miriam and let her know they will be visiting the following month.
The look between Dan and Abe.
The look between Mariano and Miriam.
Os and Amanda get married (she in a stunning dress).
Rodolfo*sigh* shows up at the wedding and tells Nat he’s there for her and the baby in whatever way she wants. Nat looks pleased.
Romantic Dan/Cam moment.
Nice moment with Vivi/Rafa/Roman and a very happy Pablo and Luz, Rocio and Caye.
Months later we see most of the Scoobies. Miriam and Mariano as a couple, Cam is pregnant, the Budgekin is fussy.
They rename the ranch Amor Bravio.
Cam and Dan pledge their eternal love.

Low Points:

Though Cesar Evora is adorable with the Budgekin, Dio kissing her creeped me out.
Dio’s and Omar’s reaction to what happened to Isa.
Cam has to deliver the papers to Dio.
Dan and Cam arguing about their roles in the plan. You really need to be on the same page for this to work.
Dio reneges on his deal (surprise) and takes Cam hostage.
Dio gets Dan with a rock, finds his gun and is ready to shoot him as Dan waits for the inevitable.
Dio gets medical attention while Dan can hardly stand.
Did I miss it or was there no Maja sighting?

OK. I'm going to defend Miriam. Most of the time when the baby actress was handed off to Caridad, it was because she was fussy. I can understand the actors--CdlF included--doing that so they can play the scene. I watched a TN once where the baby was crying--loudly--and they continued to play the scene as they ignored it. That was very distracting.

Thanks Jar for an excellent last recap of this excellent TN. Thanks to all the recappers and commenters who made this amazing TN even better with your insights and humor. A special thanks for all the positive comments about my HPLP lists. I'm glad you enjoyed them.

Nanette

Thank you. Jardinera for a detailed final recap. I am sad to see this novela end.
Thank you to all of the other recappers, especially to UA, with his 11:01 pm post and his delightful fans.
I agree with all of the others who noted that it was refreshing to not have the usual grandiose wedding, but a subtle one.
I was happy to see Karmic justice for Dionisio and Isadora, now they are crying, good. Lord knows that they caused enough misery.
It looked like Leonico was salivating at his future plans for Dionisio before he kills him. I too wondered why wasn't he in a cell. Thanks, UA for the OZ memory.
Anon207 thank you for your lists, they were entertaining.
Vivi- you complete all of the novelas with your information and perspective. I don't know how you do it but I admire you for it. I am watching 3 novelas and have to catch up on the weekends. Thank you for the Hoy link.
Variopinta- I doubt if Isa will be the top dog anymore. Without hands and a tongue, she will be treated like a dog alright.

I also tipped my hat to Miriam who knew when to give up and move on. That was atypical for a novela but very mature and welcomed.

I am so glad that Miriam didn't die at the end, as often happens to the extraneous spouse in tns. ITA, she bowed out with great dignity.

I'm surprised the EMTs didn't make Dan go to the hospital after he got bashed in the head with a rock, TWO times, like that. He looked like a little boy when he got dizzy and had to sit down, as his two wives looked at him with love and concern.

Nanette- I will miss your HPLP lists. They were such a great addition to the recaps each week. You spoiled us.

Alas, there was no Maja sighting. I would like to have seen her with puppies.

I completely agree that it would have been sweet seeing the look on Dionicio's face at seeing his own surveillance recording.

If I were a judge on that case I would insist that he be put in solitary confinement. A career con man like that could become the worst badass in the cell block even without money.

Iago was a total idiot about the watch. He has no future.

I've started watching the Hoy video, and had to stop just to comment about the actor playing Yago. Wow, or should I say Guau. Hubba hubba, is he cute with shorter hair. I almost didn't recognize him. I would like to see him in something looking like that and playing a nice guy.

I wonder if we saw an edited torture (Isa/leo) scene? Maybe the rape was more than hinted-at during the Mexico showing?

One of Isadora's best weapons was her gift-of-gab and how she cut and sliced (pun intended) people to the bone with her mean, sarcastic tongue. Without it and with near-nubs for hands, she is pretty helpless and poses no danger. In fact, because of her crimes (killed a SACERDOTE? SU PROPIO HIJO???), she will become a certain target for the justice that is often meted out by the prisoners themselves. The Komodo Dragon meets Karmaggedon in the Klink!

The confidentiality of AB hospitals/doctors remained true to the end - the announcement about Miriam's non-aneurysm and the malpracticing doctor was reminiscent of the announcements of Alonso's ED with a hooker and that Luzma was pregnant by her garbage uncle.

It wasn't really funny, but it was funny how Dio laughed at Isa's fate, with Omar joining in (although Omar's laughter looked a little forced to me). Socios, indeed!

Even the rotten doctor won't get away with his lies. They are definitely going to file a complaint and follow through!

If Miriam hadn't been around or if she hadn't connected with Ana and Mariano, he would have insisted to Camila that they "give themselves a chance" even after she told him she could never see him as anything but a good friend. In other words, if he hadn't been exposed to another person at all, he would've been his usual pushy, smothering "cuentas conmigo" forever self, wouldn't have just "understood" and backed off.

Omar did not drive away with the baby at the end. There were THREE black SUVs there. Dio handed the baby to Omar and he put it in he back of one SUV, which Dio had intended to leave there and just tell Dan where he could find his baby. He gave the documents to Omar and told him to take off and rush them to Estevez and to take all the men with him in the second SUV. He then was going to kidnap Camila in the third SUV. When the men who drove off were caught, they never came back to the warehouse. When Dio was shot, beaten down and surrounded by cops, Camila said to Dan, "Go get your baby." The baby was never in a speeding car without a car seat, thank goodness.

While it was beanie-time to see leo skulking around loose in the prison, it was kind of fun to see him scare the beejesus out of Dio. What now, big man? Don't want to get your hands dirty? No problem, I do! Also, I'm assuming Omar ends up at this same reclusorio and he was instrumental in Isadora's maiming of leo so .... look out, Omar!

Miriam's "understanding" and accepting of all that Abraham caused grated on me, even if he IS her brother. Sure, he went to jail for a little while. But for all the suffering Miriam, Daniel and Camila went through because of his lies, I don't think paid enough dues.

I, too, was glad they didn't rush to show a multitude of weddings or, even worse, double and triple weddings. The end was very satisfying just as it was.

I agree that Miriam could've held on to Agatha a little longer after her return, but also understand that with a baby actress, if she's fussy taking her off camera is the best thing. I wonder if Caridad was her real mother. If not, I'm sure her real mother was just off-camera, ready to sweep her into her arms at the first sign of fussiness.

I'm also glad that even though they showed that several months had gone by, the baby was still a baby. When we first saw Aggie she was supposed to be only around 8 weeks old, so the little actress merely caught up to her real age. I can't stand when TNs (or any TV show for that matter) show a baby and then a five-year-old but the time passed for the adult characters has only been several months or a couple of years.

This is the first time I watch a TN with recaps and have thoroughly enjoyed each and every one.

Kudos to all Recappers!

Thank you all,
Soyyo

Vivi: Thank you so much. I'm might try it again on a TN I know I'm going to commit to (not sure about PEAM, yet). Thanks for all your help. I don't know where I would be without your photographic TN memory.

Does anyone know if Florencia's new TN is going to be the next one at 7:00?

I thought it was a bit odd of Miriam to say to Abe that she and Dan would have gone their separate ways anyway.I don't really buy that.

Nanette- I haven't seen any ads for what the 7pm tn will be after Corona de Lagrimas ends. Has anyone else seen anything? The one Florencia is in is called La Mujer de Vendaval.

Miriam said that destiny would have likely separated them anyway. So she wasn't really saying they would have separated based on something that was wrong in their previous relationship. She was just saying that they weren't destined/meant for each other. And of course, we know that Cam and Dan were destined for each other from that shared dream they had years ago when they were thousands of miles away, had never met each other, and were about to marry other people.

Vivi: I see what you're saying about Miriam and Dan. That does make sense. I misunderstood how she said it.

I looked up Florencia's new one. It also has Ariadne Diaz (from MEPS) and Jose Ron (STuD). I like Ariadne, don't really care for Jose. Wiki says it started filming in November, which could quite possibly make it the next one to air here.

There is also the Corazon Indomable (remake of Thalia's Marimar) with Ana Brenda as the lead. That might also take the 7pm slot. Ana Brenda is quite popular after LQNPA, so Uni might choose to go with that one next.

Off-topic: I was going through the guide for this weekend and saw that a series/special (not sure which, Dish's info writes it like that with the backslash....but probably a special) called "Imperio de Maldad: Grandes Villanos de TV y Novelas" is on Univision from midnight to 2 am tonight.

My translation of the info given: "A look back at the greatest and most perverse villains in the history of novelas."

Karamy

Karamy: I checked my Fios listing and it's on my schedule for the same time. Thanks for the heads up!!!!!

Vivi: I forgot about the Ana Brenda novela coming. I saw enough of LQNPA to get to like her. I think you're right about it being next. I'm definitely checking out the 7:00 one no matter what it is as I'm not sold on PEAM.

Cathyx, I just got done posting a comment on the page containing Vivi's wonderfully detailed account of the Hoy video and came over here to see what messages had been added. You and I are clearly on the same wave length about the guy who played Yago! My comment on Vivi's page was VERY similar to yours here.

Bloody hell; I wish I'd known about that. Here's hoping it will be on On Demand or Hulu.

IMPERIO DE MALDAD: The hosts referred to a part 2, but I don't know when it will be shown. I imagine soon; I'll keep an eye out and update, though I'm not sure what thread I should do so on. ITA that we need a thread devoted to this sort of thing, upcoming novelas, etc.

It was interesting, and featured novelas ranging from the early 50's to the near-present. The most recent was Abismo de Pasión which, although otherwise not so good, did have 2 unforgettable villains in Carmina Bouvier and Gabino Mendoza.

I added 8 titles to my want-to-see list based on what was shown of them.

Karamy

I missed the first 45 minutes; what did they show?

Update all of the Univision threads with this to get us all. I've been in and out all weekend and will be out of here at 8 to catch a train for a visit to a friend.

With rare exception do we ever see a Uni/Televisa telenovela premiere in the U.S. One was Amar Otra Vez. The other was Eva Luna.

As for favorite villanas and villanos--possibly a good title for one of UA's discussion posts. I would put Leoncio and Isadora at the top.

Jardinera, there are five weekend discussions about villains that cover the three basic types:

Toxic Parents (separate lists for mothers and fathers)
Predatory Peers (by gender)
Sleazebags (one list, all male)

The list of mothers is the first and we had this discussion late last June. We can definitely start a new list.

You might be able to keep up with your favorite actors by checking out their Facebook sites, like this one on Ricardo Franco.

Looks like he has a part as a pilot in Corazon Indomable.

Ohhhh, another Man in Uniform!

Jardinera- I had never heard of Amar Otra Vez (2004), so I just looked it up on Wikipedia. Sounds like it was popular. Was it good? It's bound to be shown in the daytime at some point. Is it dvr worthy?

Eva Luna was a Univision production, not a Televisa production, so that's why it was shown in the U.S. first. Same with El Talisman, and we know what happened to that avocado pit. ;)

It's hard to find info on new shows, even from the stars' Facebook pages, because they can be filled with spoilers.

I find that NovelasLounge is good for mentioning tns coming up, but it includes all the major Spanish network tns in Mexico, Colombia, Brazil, Venezuela, Argentina, and the U.S. You can find info on how each tn is doing in with ratings in their country.

Amar Otra Vez -- I had forgotten all about that novela. I'd love to hear others' thoughts, but I remember it as a fair novela, not real long, but a good showcase for the young principals. Those included Iran Castillo, who has since sort of disappeared, Vanessa Guzman and the handsome Valentino Lanus. I don't think I new that it premiered in the U.S.

That's "knew", not "new" - new keyboard on order. Better typing skills? That ship has sailed!

Wow, Guau! What a great final and what a great time this whole show. Thank you so much UA, Paquita, Mena, 5ft. and Jardinera. All the time, dedication, wit, snark, fun etc., etc., was appreciated and enjoyed.

Nanette, I also have enjoyed you high/low point lists. Thank you.

GatoViejo, your captions are a treasure and fantastic resource. You are wonderful to provide them.

I haven't had the time to comment the way I would like but have enjoyed everyone who contributes. My take on the final:
Like others I loved the end scene with Camila, Daniel and the Budgekin. A minute or two before I was screaming at Camila to get the hell out of the car and help Daniel for godsakes! Camila has been such a strong person throughout, I was glad she was the one to rescue him!

Hissadora's punishment was stomach-turning and much worse than Dio's. Aleta, your comment about her eye makeup made me LOL. I feel Dio is smart enough that he'll manipulate things in prison to his own advantage. Dionisio's crying didn't ring true. The idea of Leoncio wandering the halls made me angry. I think if Luzma had known, the assurances that he was in a maximum security prison would have meant little to her.

I felt Miriam had a tremendous amount of class. I doubt I would be such a generous person if I had been her. I would have probably been a whiny, self-pitying mess if I had gone through what she had gone through.

I wish we had a little more time to enjoy Pablo and Luzma together. But at least they were together! If the writers had surprised us and had Luzma going her own way after recovering, I would have been so upset for Pablo.

Thanks all for pleasure this show and blog has brought.

Aha! I knew someone out there must have captured the full final Cam-Dan love scene in the tub. It is pretty darn hot and must have been interesting to film. I'd like to see the bloopers. :)

Here it is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cmQV5Gv-Fhg

After seeing our main couple in their final moments, it’s kind of cool to go back and see them in their very first moments:
CyD 1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A7IF4SyYfls
CyD 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BmH838ixxws
CyD 4: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hqfn4aK8r0Y

Vivi: Thanks mucho for the tub scene extravaganza!
As for Amar Otra Vez, it was my very first and my hubby and I watched it from a couple of months in. It captured our interest thoroughly and wasn't one I ever snarked over, except for thinking how odd wearing a standout scarf and dark glasses was while doing a hitnrun on one's beloved in a snazzy big beamer.....Anyway, it was well written and decently acted. The theme and storyline wasn't so outlandish compared with the stuff we get fed today. It was tame, sort of like Querida Enemiga was, and I remember going to the Uni foro and reading every one of the Spanish recaps to hubby so we could catch up to where we were in the story. It was a very rewarding experience for a first timer beginning to learn Spanish in late middle age!

UA: I'm not one to jump into topical discussions outside of the recap. I find I'm usually so far to the right in my views even Carlos would have a tough time agreeing with me--and that's saying something! But, more power to y'all!

One of my fave early scenes between CyD: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=endscreen&NR=1&v=uOwUAAMKSWI

Thanks Jardinera. I will keep an eye out for Amar Otra Vez, for if they ever show it again during the day. I'll set my dvr.

Thank you again to all the weekly readers, commenters, lurkers for your attention and time here. As others have said in past, it makes the effort as well as the experience that much more enjoyable! We couldn't do it without each and every one of you, either--or without the foresight of Melinama in having created this little corner of virtuality.

Jardinera654, thank you for a wonderful recap.

How upsetting that Leoncerdo also raped Hissadora. When I saw her walking so oddly, I was worried he had poured acid on her privates. I was wondering how she could even be walking, but I think he must have been brutal with her for her to walk that way.

Thank you to the absolutely wonderful recappers!! I will be looking to see where each of you land so that I can follow your recaps.

Most of all, thank you to the kind and generous people on this blog who've made this wonderful novela such a wonderful ride!

Always,

Fatima

I missed the first 45 minutes; what did they show?
*****************************

Oh gosh, I couldn't say. It's all a blur to me as far as the chronology. The 3 that begin the list of must-sees that I made (likely all from the first 45 minutes)are El Derecho de Nacer (1983,)La Hiena (1973,)& El Manantial (2001.)

I'll update all the Uni threads then-current when/if I find out when part 2 will be on. I checked the guide for the rest of this weekend and the next (I'm pretty sure they would show it on a weekend) and it's not there.

Jardinera, I'm late getting my two cents in but wouldn't dare let the series end without saying thanks for your time and effort in providing such great weekend entertainment.

I'm glad to know that you'll be on board for Mehija's show. See ya there!!

El Manantial (2001) is definitely a must see! It's on my all time top 10 telenovelas--which to date is still minus about 5. I got hold of the entire set of tapes from somebody and it had the CC's. Anyway, it is a classic and again doesn't have any snarkworthy baggage to it IMHO.
===========

BTW, I looked up the Corazon Indomable site and it looks like it could be a winner if they don't muck'n yuk it up. It's supposedly replaces Corona de Lagrimas at the 6/7PM Eastern slot. Great casting and storyline, refrito of Marimar.

UA: watched the first 20 minutes or so and ENDA with LC was also shown.

Usually during this TN I've had the title song running through my head (though not as much as the CME title song--still my fave). Now I can't seem to get Luz and Pablo's theme out of my head.

Jar

Can understand why you think El Manantial was good, producer Carla Estrada, director Monica Miguel.

Did Adela do a lot of crying? That is my objection to her.

Nanette- Which PabLuz song? Their sad one or happy one?

Vivi: their happy one.It stuck in my head after watching the Gran Final.

Vario: Yeah, there's trademark AN tears, but it's at the earlier stages of her career and not so much as you'd notice, IMO. I was surprised at the amount of script I understood when the CC on the tape screwed up, too. But yes, anything Carla and Monica touch is truly golden.

I'm late to the party, but I just wanna say thank you for the finale recap. I actually enjoyed this TN. It did seem like Izzy got the best/worst comeuppance. Although it looked like Leo planned to get his own revenge on Dio.

I liked how Dan and Abe were exchanging looks while Mar and Mir were flirting hehehe!

I've been watching videos of ENDA on YouTube these past couple days. I've finally found decent videos of the episodes and I just realized that the actor who plays Cayetano made a brief appearance in ENDA as the deceased father of Macarena (Vicky Ruffo) and Carlota (Lety Calderon). He's shown in flashbacks.

Overall I did enjoy this TN so...until the next one!

Just wanted to say thanks to all of the recappers and posters. I totally enjoyed this TN, and I know reading this page made it so much better. I agree that SN is the best actress out there right now. If anyone knows what else is coming on that is decent, please comment. The only thing I have left to watch now is AV with Eduardo Yanez. I like the idea of having a forum that lists all of the TNs, old and new, that are being broadcast on all of the networks with their dates. Thanks again. Linda K

Wow!!! I am completely in awe!!!What a gran finale and thanks Jardinera, you are awesome. I would like to once more thank every recappers and commenters to Caray Caray who contributed to this great novella. My first telenovela was "Teresa" which I enjoyed very much, then "Refugio" and now "Amor Bravio". I will forever put AB as top on my list including the actors. I thought it was excellently done and if I compare it to CDL why CDL would put the tns steps or years far back improvement wise in tn(film production) wise.
I am completely satisfied with the final outcome for all the characters and it would not be a surprise to me if a sequel is in the back burner. That would make me happy for right now I am depressed for want of a possible replacement for AB time slot. I don't feel like the next one would fill the gap. But hey, I'm hooked now, so I'll wait, look, and watch for a while. Vivi, what they say about you is really true. I rely most of the time on your very reliable information on these tns. One question, Do you know why the commercial dvds version of telenovelas are edited or shortened so badly? I bought Cuidado Con el Angel(Maite Peroni and W.Levy and it was edited so badly and it was not like the tv version that I watch in the morning. I was disappointed. Altho there are boring times in this tn, the main story was dissected too much in the dvd version.
Hope to see all your recaps in upcoming tns. Have a nice week.

Darn it! I lost all of what I was typing midstream.

Anyway, great job by everyone. this is the best non period show by Televisa that i've seen. Great story all along with minimal beany moments. And the uncontionality and unpredictability stayed true to the end particularly with no wedding by the main stars. Why should they when they were never divorced nor the wedding ever contested.

I actually thought Isadora had died when I saw her unconscious in the bed wrapped around the blankets after leoncio finished de tonguing her and pouring acid on her. I thought too that he poured acid on her privates just because he is a sadistic animal. I really thought she was a goner when those dudes disposed of her body along the road wrapped in those blankets Cleopatra style. So I was mildly surprised to see her wake up and try to walk away. I thought she broke her heel and that's why she was walking that way aside from being in great pain. I did not realize she had been raped until I read all the comments. She did not even realize what happened to her hand until she looked at them. She should have been crawling or moving a lot more slwly for someone greatly wounded like that. Her body should be in shock from the de tonguing alone. Ever have any bodypart amputated without anesthesia? Think about that pain.

I think Dionisio shed some tears after being tended to in the prison infirmary and after Juarez read the charges to him after he realized that he will be there and won't be able to see the beautiful and hot Camila ever again. Not because he saw Leoncio walking by. The prison has its own heirarchy and I think Dionisio will end up runiing one of its gangs. He got away with what he was doing all those years because he was slick and cunning. Personally, I could care less if they both killed each other. But Dionisio is more likely to be able to eliminate Leoncio by having an inmate shank him. Leoncio has no friends in prison and everyone who gets in there has an initial shock and awe at the new surroundings. Look at him when he first got there. All he has gained is a kindergarten level of writing. He is too stupid a barbarian and an animal to be of consequence.

Ibarramedia

I'm a little surprised that Isadora was up and about so soon. Leoncio was laid up in the prison hospital for a long time. I really thought that Dionisio would somehow be extradited to Chile years later and then sentenced to death by firing squad. I know Mexico has no death penalty. I don't know if modern day Chile does. The Chile during Pinochet's time would definitely execute Dioniso.

I don't know what to make of Yago. He was not completely evil and even helped stop Isadora. He seemed capapble of the responsibilities of running a bsuiness but he was a bit greedy and he did not take responsibility of his getting Natalia pregnant. Are we supposed to think that he ended up a a drunk bum living on the streets never to be seen again?

I'm glad that Iliana changed for the better and was the main person repsonsible for saving Cayetano's life. I thought Rocio and Cayetano would end up murdered before the series ended.

Miriam had every right to feel the way she was considering the deception. I thought she would be angrier than she was. All that was Abraham's fault for telling Daniel not toe tell her that he married Camila when they got off the airport taxi. I think Daniel was about to say that I just married Camila and got back from the honeymoon and now you're alive.

I feel better about Abraham now since he was sincerely sorry and made up for it. I respected him even more after he turned himself in and did some prison time thus ruining his career. Daniel to me is a stand up guy who lied initially out of necessity not because he was a serial compulsive liar. Things were just spiralling out of control from that point. Gotta trust the guy. He's a good guy who cared about everyone. I know not everyone likes him, but he's a really good dude.

I'm so far behind reading the recap and comments but had to read and comment on this finale. I'm still at 144 for Amor Bravio, 82 for Amore Verdaderos and I have yet to start with Porque el amor manda. I went ahead and saw everything until Episode 164 last Feb and held off and saw 165 & 166 this past thursday. Been watching and downloading AV and PEAM since they started in Mexico but last week of Feb, my sources have been compromised (most video deleted or saying it cant' air in the us) and it has been extremely hard to download full episodes. I'm just glad I was able to get the entire AB series since it ended last October. I would not have been able to download them if I kept up with Univision air times.

I'm skipping the 2 Mejia series and try to devote some time to catching up to this and AV, PEAM. Folowing 3 series concurrently is extremely difficult since I keep running out of time. Again thanks to everyone. Great job. 2 thumbs up. ✌

Is it possible that Mexico does not extradite when the perp is likely to face the death penalty in the other country? If Law & Order SVU got that one right Canada has this policy.

As for how Hissadora managed even to walk, remember her species. It can't be easy to kill a Komodo Dragon.

Getting ready to hit the salt mines and found myself thinking about our novela (I saw it again last night becuz I can't bear to leave it, yet).

When Agustina's former husband, the one who was Ximena's father, left, didn't he leave with some valuable information about Hissadora? I guess the guy had other obligations in real life, but he just seemed like a loose end that was not tied up.

So glad to see that others are still commenting!

Ibarramedia- It’s good to hear your male perspective on the tn and the finale. Thanks for keeping the conversation going. I wish you could have joined us more over the last months, because I always enjoy hearing your voice.

ITA that Dan is a stand up guy. I know he got criticized a lot in the comments for hiding the truth first from Cam and then from Mir. But you described his dilemma well. At the end of the day, I don’t think Camila would ever have to worry that this is a man who would betray her or hurt her on purpose. In fact, it’s just the opposite. This is a man who has shown he will go above and beyond to protect her and to stay by her side.

Yago’s future is not written in stone. Rocio said that Yago is like her. She needed to hit rock bottom (divorce, loss of home, estrangement from her sons, and a stroke) before she saw the light and decided to change her attitude. It may just take the same kind of thing for Yago to turn around. And when he does, the family will welcome him back. The biggest question mark is if Nat will ever let him have a relationship with his child. She probably will if he truly changes some day.

Miriam, like Camila, gets really upset about deception. But once they are faced with a greater crisis, like possibly losing someone they love, they quickly put things into perspective and get over it. Camila moved past D’Andres’s deception once it looked like Dan was going to turn himself into the police and be shipped off to a Chilean prison. Miriam moved past Dan and Cam’s deception once her baby was kidnapped and Dan and Cam were the ones going to save her. They are both women with deep convictions, but are also both very practical.

Fatima- I think Francisco Xavier shared all the info he had—1) Isa is the one who came looking for him and brought him to town for flush out Daniel; 2) Isa used Samuel the notary to make the illegal power of attorney for FX to take over MQ on behalf of Daniel; and 3) that there was more than a friendly relationship between Isa and Dion. The first thing wasn’t illegal but added to the info the Scoobies had about Isa and Dion’s plans. The second thing led Osvaldo to confront Samuel, which caused Samuel to leave the country. And Gussy refused to believe him when he told her about Isa and Dion. Is there anything else FX knew?

I don't think so. He disappeared before outliving his usefulness.

I'm all geared up for El señor de los cielos. I read the synopsis & cast on telenovela world. It's in Spanish but need to get in the groove.

Someone did the entire love story of Camila y Daniel in three parts set to music:

Part 1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JlrKzP_S3CA
Part 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pd3PEkvb9r0
Part 3: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gk67wbR0tfE

I too will watch out for the dvd, hoping they do a "directors" version which would be uncut, but it does not sound like it. I would love to see more of the full scenes, uncut, uncensored.

Making love on the muddy banks of a raging waterfall........Does not sound too great actually...dirty and not the good kind!

I was always wondering about the legality of the marriages between Dan and Mir and Dan and Cam. Dan and Cam separated but never filed for divorce (right???) so their marriage stands. I also thought it strange that I did not see rings on their fingers. I am happy about their new addition, and would have loved the show to continue to give us more of their lives together.

I had hoped for some epilogue info at the very end, to give us a shot into the future for all the major players.

Diablo Dio is really screwed and he knows it and tears flow. Same for Hissa. Amazing they actually had the ability to cry.

I also did not see Nat and Rod at the celebration. I would assume with the jump in time Nat would have had the baby and Rod is with her. Cam looked to be about 7-8 months pregnant so alot of time had transpired since we last saw Nat down in Chiappas so we have to assume she had the baby and was with him. She could have come back to the Ranch given her daddy's situation but it still could be dangerous. Teresa should have been much more pregnant looking at this point, given the size of Cam's belly. I wish we could see into the future of Cam and Dan and their little bambino.

Since Dan was married to Miriam when he married Cam his marriage to Cam would be invalid. I don't know about the religious aspect of it. Maybe the Catholic Church doesn't recognize Dan's marriage to Miriam. But, Dan and Cam would have to remarry in a civil ceremony after Dan and Miriam's divorce.

Brave, true, strong, valiant love conquers all in the end, good over evil wins the day.

SN and CdlF had some of the steamiest love scenes I've seen in a long time.

Hey Nanette, I was thinking the same thing, but Dan thought Mir was dead that whole time, so in his mind he was no longer married and thus he was ok to marry Cam. There was talk in the epi's following Mir's return about Cam's marriage now being invalid. I was never sure what the real deal was.

As far as Luz and Pablo, they never went ahead with a divorce so they are still married, despite her leaving him to go to Chiappas.

I would think that Daniel & Camila's marriage was invalid because he was still married to Miriam. That's why Abraham told Dan the divorce should be quick since both he & Miriam were in agreement.

Dan & Camila would probably just remarry civilly once Dan/Miriam's divorce was final.

I wonder if Miriam/Mariano married if Abraham would have reservations about Mariano not being Jewish. Then, seeing the trouble he caused Dan/Miriam he might just keep his mouth shut!

Although he's welcome to come back anytime, I don't see Yago coming back until Cayetano dies, to get his inheritance. He'll snub Rocio & Pablo again, never inquire about Baby Albarran and take off again.

He's going to have to get over a lot, such as not being Cayetano's favorite, not living up to what he thinks Cayetano wants him to be and his anger/hatred of Rocio/Pablo.

Even though Rocio was rejected by Cayetano & Yago, she still had Refugio, Mariano, Pablo & Ana to support her. Yago has no one.

I don't think Natalia has to worry about Yago wanting to see the child b/c I don't think he will want to see the child unless there's something in it for him.

---------------

That's why I think the jump in time was only a few months between Dio/Isa's arrests/Miriam going back to Chile and the renaming of Rancho La Malquerida to Rancho Amor Bravio...Teresa appeared to still be pregnant at the renaming, Agatha was still an infant, yet Camila looked about 6,7 months pregnant. I personally think Camila got pregnant on her honeymoon with Dan but b/c of the stress of Miriam & Dionisio didn't realize it...there WERE mentions of her looking pale & not well etc. but everyone attributed it to stress over Miriam, Dionisio, the Virus, etc.

BTW,
"Love on the Rebound in the Middle of a Mud Mound"
LOL!

Anon207- So true. I think at least one of the many times Camila turned down food when Dan was ill with the virus she said it made her feel "asco", which we usually hear the pregnant women saying. It would make sense if she was pregnant during that time but was just too stressed out by the crap storm that greeted her when she came back from her honeymoon to take notice.

Anon207- I think Abe learned his lesson and will stay out of Miriam's love life from now on. :)

Vivi in DC and UA, thank you for the clarification re Francisco. How crazy that I woke up this morning wondering about this guy and his "usefulness"! LOL!

Vivi in DC, thank you, thank you for ALL of the youtube links you have provided for us. It has made the transition so much easier, at least for me.

Ibarramedia, love your comments and insights. They were helpful to me as I could not really fathom why in the world Dion was crying in that final scene. If anything, Leoncerdo should have provoked anger in him and not a tear, but i think you are absolutely right. Dino was thinking about Camila and what might have been.

I also agree that Leoncerdo is a horrific barbarian; a Neandertal who will most likely die at the hands of Dion.

Can't bear to leave our group, yet, but look forward to UA's recap tonight and wondering about this Telemundo novela as well.

Fatima, writing from the salt mines, when she should be mining salt. :)

Fatima- I always find that it takes a couple of days for me to get out of the mental space of a tn I really liked, or a tn couple I really liked. So far this has happened with Sortilegio (the couple more than the tn), CME, and now AB. These fan videos help to wean me off, while reliving the best moments. :)

Vivi in DC, I am just SO grateful that we are in the same boat!

Fatima :))

I think Abe is a practical man who has learned his lesson and... done the math.

There are only 40,000 Jews in all Chile with 25,000 of them in Santiago. The odds strongly favor Miriam falling in love with a gentile in Chile or Mexico (which has 50,000 Jews in D.F.). Same odds would put Abe in the same place.

Mariano is a Good Catch for someone like Miriam. He's a widower with a loving daughter, he's rich, he made at least half of his own fortune, and he takes care of his family. What man wouldn't want that for his sister?

Anonymous, I think Dionicio was crying because he finally realized what could never have been.

Thanks for the responses Vivi and Fatima. I almost missed the entire Finale if I did not check to see what the latest episode number was here. To my shock it was already at 165. I miscalculated by a week and thought the Gran Final would be this Friday. I immediately went to watch the remaining episodes 165 and 166 since I knew I was going to miss the show on Friday.

I'm embarrassed to admit that in the past, I took some personal days off to catch up on La Fuerza Del Destino and La Que No Podia Amar. ***Blush*** Just wayyyy to busy. This is the first time I have to catch up on a series that ended. I had to skip to the last 3 episodes so I can comment here. I'm still on 144 almost 3 weeks behind.

I agree that Abe has learned his lesson after all the trouble he caused. His stint in Prison should be a vivid reminder of that. The odds are against Miriam marrying a Jewish man, ✡ so Abe will now really stay out of the way.

Speaking of Abe, I'm revisiting UA's question about his marital status. We never found out if he hooked up with anyone else. Hmmmm Maybe he goes the other way and he and Gaston are uh, partners and significant others not that there's anything wrong with that if that's their deal. Who am I to judge? Or maybe he could go after Mayalin, the ex-newgirl. She's cute and easy on the eyes. No pun intended. ( I know she sometimes has bug eyes) ☺

OT: Vivi, I read your responses along with Sue445, Sara and Gringo's in the AV section a few weeks ago When I was talking about Eiza Gonzalez. Just could not comment about it since it was days late.

To all of you who wish to revisit your shows of your own choice in its entirety, the best investment you can make is to get an external hard drive. The more memory the better. You can get a 6 terabyte device out there. Also use keepvid for youtube videos and some dailymotion videos. Or download Realplayer video. I literally have hundreds if not a few thousand of shows,TNs, Boxing matches, Football, Basketball, Soccer games and Movies saved in the HD. All in different folders.

"With rare exception do we ever see a Uni/Televisa telenovela premiere in the U.S. One was Amar Otra Vez. The other was Eva Luna.

As for favorite villanas and villanos--possibly a good title for one of UA's discussion posts. I would put Leoncio and Isadora at the top."

I still have Fernando Escandon on top. That dude is utterly despicable. Pure evil. Alberto Lafont and clone Leoncio is a close second.

Another comment on Camila's pregnancy:

I suspected the same thing some of you guys were thinking. I think it was even earleir than the honeymoon. Since Camila let the world know that she and Andres/Daniel/D'Andres were an item, they had been going at it several times. I could tell by some of her movements that she may be pregnant, though she did not verbalize it. There were subtle hints. She definitely had a head start on Teresa but the stress of what was happening to them and the aggravation may have caused a slight delay in her showing a baby bump. Astute observations by some of you.

Hulu didn't put up the last episode today, and I didn't want to end such a great show by watching a poor quality video on Youtube, so I only saw the finale today--waiting (and not reading this discussion) was very frustrating!

So, coming in so late, I have little to add. I thought it was a great last episode. The final confrontation between Daniel, Camila, and Dionisio was all I could have asked for in a TN. (If I were going to nitpick, Daniel did do an unnecessary roll over the front of the car, Camila sure took her time getting to the gun, and it looked for a moment as if her bullet had gone straight through Dionisio and hit Daniel.) I agree that Dionisio will end up running the biggest prison gang--unless Leoncio manages to kill him before he finds allies. And I too liked where everything ended up, including the renaming of La Malquerida.

Best telenovela ever, and so far I don't see any competition on the horizon. Unfortunately.

About Camila's pregnancy, I commented way back in one scene where she felt sick to her stomach and didn't feel like eating, that she could be pregnant. She was with piedad in the kitchen. No one agreed with me, by the way.

Cathyx- We were dopes not to believe you. I guess we expected that if the heroine were pregnant they would make some big deal about it and add to the drama of the situation. Not like Camila needed one more thing to add to her plate at the time. She did complain a few times about feeling sick and not wanting to eat. Now that we see her as preganant as Teresa by the end (if not more), it becomes clear that she was likely feeling the same kind of pregnancy symptoms Nat had just a few weeks before.

Yes, they do have that policy. It came up in the news once when the US wanted to extradite a guy (don't remember the name)who had killed someone here, and was serving time for something else in Mexico. They wouldn't hand him over because of the death penalty issue, but US authorities were engaging in legal manouvers to force them. I don't know how it turned out.

If anyone knows what else is coming on that is decent, please comment. The only thing I have left to watch now is AV with Eduardo Yanez. I like the idea of having a forum that lists all of the TNs, old and new, that are being broadcast on all of the networks with their dates. Thanks again. Linda K

I just noticed a show called Vivir a destiempo on the Guide today, with Edith Gonzalez. It's on Azteca America at 6pm eastern. I *think* today's was the first episode. If not, it must be near the beginning since I just noticed it. I go through the coming week's Guide for all the channels that run novelas on almost a weekly basis.

And reruns of Camila began this morning on Unimás. I dvr'd it and watched a bit of it, but ruled it out not because it didn't seem good or at least decent, but because I'm trying to avoid too much additional exposure to the campesino-type Mexican accent, because I've noticed tinges of it in my Spanish:)There's a LOT of it in Camila. It's also being shown in 2 hr. segments, which is a bit much for me.

I find (and found even when my Spanish was much less advanced) that missing the first episode or even first few episodes of a novela isn't really a big deal, what with all the flashbacks and frequent references to past occurrences.
