Amores Verdaderos #106 Wed 4/10/13 Roy es híper sweet and he'd never ever cheat on me.

In the living room of the Balvanera Mansion, Adriana accepts her father's welcome home embrace while Francisco Guzmán and Victoria look on approvingly.

In the kitchen, Liliana, having just heard the worst news of her life -- the earth has been invaded by a hostile race of aliens and there is no hope for the planet -- goes into HYSTERICS.  What?  Oh.  Sorry.  She has just heard that her parents are splitting.  José Ángel vows to fix the problem -- Lili's ma means everything to him.  And Lili goes home to talk to her ma.  Meanwhile Miss Vikki, left alone with JA, wants the skinny.  What happened?  Before JA can answer, Nikki breezes in, Guzmán in her wake.  She wants to go out clubbing with Roy and some friends.

Nikki says:  Can I take Super Superman instead of the little gorilla?
Nikki thinks: I can't trust myself to resist Guzmancito's kisses.

Vikki defers to JA who says it's okay with him.  Guzmán frowns and shakes his head slightly.  Nikki flounces out triumphantly, leaving the other three knowing they have been bamboozled once again.

Arriaga Apartment
Cris, Paula and Beatriz are sitting around the table when Liliana bursts in and announces dramatically that her father told her what happened.  Cris jumps up and runs to her daughter.  "Wait ... he told you I wanted us to take some time apart?"  Lili is confused.  "It was your idea?"  Lili thinks her mother is making a big mistake.  Hasn't it occurred to her that this trial separation may end up keeping them apart forever?  Cris says it was a painful decision (Me costó sangre) but she had no other choice.  [Except, of course, not to ask for a separation.  I guess they didn't stress critical thinking skills in the school in the pueblo.]

Paula and Bea, the captive audience to the Arriaga drama, try to reassure Lili after  Cris runs off to her bedroom.  When Bea suggests going out for some air  -- Paula can look after Guillo -- Lili has a great idea: why not go to a club called Difference, aka The Only Club in Mexico (TOCIM).  Why not?  Bea will call Santino and he can meet them there.

Back at los Balvanera
Adri moves into Aníbal's old room (maybe she'll find some clues to her daughter's whereabouts there).  Guzmán stops by and the two chat.  Since no one knows they are friends, they decide to address one another formally when others are present but use "tú" when they are alone.

Vikki tells Tomi that even though she confessed her love to Arriaga, nothing is going to come of it.  But she is worried about the Arriagas' separation -- she can't be the cause of a divorce nor be the source of Cristina's suffering.  [Unless it means giving up Arriaga, I guess.]

TOCIM
Nikki arrives with Roy the Boy and greets the trio of skanky Fresas, including uberskank, Nabila.  JA stands by miserably.  He listens to the Boy boasting of his tennis rank and thinks sourly:  Qué escuincle tan fantoche.  (What a bragging brat!)

Elsewhere in the crowded antro, Lili and Beatriz find a table.  Lili confides that she met that guy right here.  Maybe he was a little fast (lanzado) but he was so cute and fun -- and he saw her as a woman, not a kid.

As Nikki babbles about wedding and honeymoon plans, the Rollero's eyes light up when he spots Lili in the crowd.  Muttering something about his phone, he leaves Nikki and the chattering skanks and makes a beeline for the little orchid.  Meanwhile Nabila gives JA the eye and then asks Nikki where Guzmancito is.  And JA reflects smugly that he is so glad his daughter has very different tastes -- she would never set foot in a place like this.

Bea goes looking for a server, leaving Lili alone at the table.  Just the opportunity Roy the Boy needed.  Hola preciosa, he oozes.  Tonight he's not going to let her get away.  Lili gazes at him adoringly.

Álamos, Sonora
Candelaria has everything organized in the clinic and she is ready for her midnight bus to the big city.  She'll surprise her family with her afternoon arrival.  She couldn't get away before -- but now the flu outbreak is under control and nothing is stopping her ... except her fear.  She's not sure she'll be able to confess the whole truth to her family, she tells the padre.  He reassures her:  She acted with the best of intentions.  But now Lili and Cris deserve to know THE TRUTH; and it's time for Candelaria herself to set down the heavy burden she has been carrying.

Balvanera Kitchen
Jean Marie, Polita and Tomasina have their own opinions about the right wedding gown for Nikki.  JM favors spare elegance; Polita leans toward a giant layer cake of a dress, something big and full pa' que le haga cuerpo (to give her body a little ... body).

Now the others have gone to bed.  Guzmán sits alone at the kitchen table.  Not even Balzac is there to keep him company.

TOCIM
Arriaga wishes he were at the kitchen table.  But alas, he is stuck with the gaggle of fresas.  He excuses himself for a moment and walks a few feet away from them only to bump into ... Beatriz!   She came with Lili, she tells him.  Look -- she's right over there ... or she was right over there.

At the moment, Lily is off in a corner with the Toy Boy and he is declaring his intention to hold onto her, even if it means following her through this life and the next incarnation!  By the way, did that guy ever call her to say happy birthday?  Wow.  Lili is impressed with his memory.  And no, he didn't call.  Well Roy thinks the guy must be blind!  He doesn't deserve to be in Lili's fan club.  Does she have a fan club?  Oh yes, and the Coy Boy is the president.  Doesn't that earn him a kiss?

Apparently it does.  They go for an epic smooch. [Thankfully, the camera doesn't give us icky, lip-chewing close-ups.]

Arriaga is pushing his way through the crowd.  He must find his solecito before she comes to harm ...

[Guzmán, alone at the kitchen table, tells an imaginary Nikki it is a mistake to marry Roy because she doesn't love him.]

And Nikki, still with the fresaSkanks at TOCIM, must hear the little gorilla.  Because she hears their song and imagines that she and Frankie are dancing together ...

The epic smooch is still going on!

Salsero stops JA in his path through the antro and JA does a little rant about Bea bringing Lili to a place like this.
[Someone on the Patio points out that this place is several notches about the Chippendales dive where the Big Guy and Miss Vikki danced not so long ago.  Oh well.]

The smooch is still going on

Finally, Lili pulls away.  The Boy is going too fast.  Again.  And she doesn't even know his name.  "My name is Rolando," says Roy*.  Lili has to get back to her friend but "Rolando" wants her phone number before she goes.  She enters it in his phone and then he takes her photo.  (Now Nikki doesn't even have to catch them together -- she just need to see the picture!).
*I thought the Toy Boy was fibbing but Mads tells me that "Rolando" is his real name, his nombre de pila.

Lili rejoins Bea and is unpleasantly surprised to learn that her father is there as Nikki's bodyguard.  And now JA wants to know what his baby girl is doing in this den of iniquity (tugurio de perversión).  Lili tries to tell him she's fine, she came with Bea, and besides she is of age.  He cuts her off:  Betty is a grown woman but she is just a kid, a little squirt.   Some young guy (mozalbete) could take advantage of her.  [Sigh.  Sometimes it just sucks to be a parent.]

Salsero tries to calm things down.  He urges the Big Guy to take care of Nikki.  He and Bea will take Lili home.

When the others have left, Arriaga reflects:  My sunshine -- she hasn't even learned to walk and now she's starting to run.

Roy goes back to Nikki and the skanks.  Uberskank Nabila snipes that Nikki was getting worried that Roy was hooking up with another girl.  But Nikki contradicts her:  Roy es híper sweet y never ever me pondría el cuerno.  (... he'd never cheat on me.)   "You can be sure of that, Flaquita," says Roy.

The Balvanera breakfast table
Vikki asks JA to take her to the doctor.  She has to have her stitches removed today.  She offers to give Nikki a ride to her therapy session but she declines.  She will have Frankie drive her; afterward he can take her to a fitting of her wedding dress.

Adriana joins the family group and Vikki tells her daughter that Adri is now living at the house.  Nikki is glad to hear it -- her mother and grandfather won't be so lonely when she leaves them to marry Roy.
[Don't worry, Nikki.  Roy loves the mansion.  If you marry him, your family will never be alone again.]

Arriaga apartment
Cris doesn't know just when Lili's grandmother will arrive -- she's had her hands full with the flu outbreak in Álamos.  But she is sure she'll keep her promise and visit them.  Lili thinks grandma will be sad about the separation.  Cris tells her not to dwell on that.  Lili should go out and meet people her own age.  As for her father's behavior in the bar last night, Lili needs to understand -- he's a very old-fashioned guy.  And hey, it's not easy for Cris to acknowledge that her daughter is a woman now.

Lili confesses that she always identified with her father.  But she has always loved her mother just as much.  Cris says she has loved Lili from the moment she was pregnant with her.  Her love for her grew along with the pregnancy.
[We are all holding our breath here.  We know Candelaria is on the way. With THE TRUTH]

When she held her for the first time, it was the greatest joy imaginable.  She will be forever grateful to God for having given her a daughter like Liliana.  Tears.  Hugs.
[Oy vey.]

Before Cris leaves for work, she arranges to go to the movies with Lili that evening.  Lili is going to Xochimilco to buy seeds.
[And we have to wonder:  Is this a weird, throw-away detail or are we going somewhere with this?]

Balvanera Kitchen
Polita wants to know why Nikki is marrying the Toy Boy when she only has eyes for Guzmancito.  Guz denies this -- he's the one in love with her -- like a crazy person
(un enajenado)!

Adriana is approaching and stops to listen ...

... he loves her so much.  But she can never be his.

Adriana comes in now and Polita leaves the two alone.

Adri wanted to ask Francisco's help in finding a detective.  He agrees to make some calls.  Then she admits she overheard his conversation with Polita (though apparently not all of it).  Who is this impossible love of his?

Frankie won't say.  It's hopeless.  She's rich, she's haughty, she's unstable -- there's no future for them.  [You make her sound like a real peach, Frankie.] Besides, she has a boyfriend who is on her social level.  Adriana tells him he is a man any woman would love to be with; if he loves the girl, he should fight for her.

Vikki and Arriaga are about ready to leave for the doctor's office when she gets a sudden spasm of pain.  She doubles over and leans against him for support.  He is trying to help her to a chair when Nelson comes in and sees them together.  He freaks out and shouts accusingly:  "Now I understand why you've been rejecting me -- you've traded me in for a lousy bodyguard!  The distinguished señora Victoria Balvanera turns out to be a whore!"

The Big Guy can't believe his ears.  He roars:  "Shut up!  I won't allow you to insult the señora!"

Nelson Brizz isn't done.  He's not taking guff from Arriaga -- and to think, he's paying him out of his own pocket!

His pocket?  Vikki reminds him that Meta Imagen is her family's company. Nelson claims it's his hard work that has made it a leader in the market.  He devoted years of his life to the business.  And now Victoria is cheating on him with this ... opportunist!

Victoria tries to explain the circumstances -- she was in pain, Arriaga was helping her -- but the Furry Fornicator isn't listening.  He is convinced: Arriaga uses any excuse to be close to her.  But this is between him and Victoria -- Arriaga is a nothing (un cero a la izquierda.)

Now Arriaga grabs Nelson's lapels and the smaller man flaps around like a fish on a line.  Enough, screams Victoria.  Stop!!!!

Avances:  Nelson believes Victoria is unfaithful.  Es que el ladrón juzga por su condición.

Poor Liliana! First she falls in love with Guzmancito, then she gives her phone number to boy roy! Can't the writers give her a break!

I foresee muchas problemas for Guzman now that Adriana has moved into the Balvanera Mansion- I know we're all just waiting for Nikki to walk in on Guzman and Adriana chatting, then going off on all sorts of wild assumptions. On another note, being so close to Anibal might help Adriana learn more about what happened to her daughter. After all, she has already demonstrated her ability to eavesdrop in tonight's episode. She just has to catch Anibal off-guard.

I am so excited that Candelaria is finally coming to visit her family! I can't wait for her to finally tell Cristina the truth about her father. So exciting!

Thank you for the recap! This was a fun episode, imo, because of all the setups.

PS Did anyone else think it was funny that Lili and boy roy had their "epic smootch" (I love that you called it that, lol) in front of a 'Caution: High Voltage' sign? As in, you'd better watch out with this chump, Lili- he's gonna give you a shock (in a very bad way)!

Novela Maven - Thank you for the wonderful recap and snark!

Bring on Candelaria and … the truth. dun! dun! dunnnnnn!

Those wedding dress pics in the magazine MUST be some sort of designer product placement. Aren't they the same ones the 'ikkis were looking at a couple days ago? Anyway…. LOL over Polita preferring the quinceañera style dress.

Toni - That "Caution: High Voltage" sign was not lost on me, either. BwaHahahahaaaa!!!

JA's "dad attack" at TOCIM was cute and painful at the same time. Being a parent ain't easy.

~sighs~ I really hoped JA would find Lili and Ro-yero, bust up that little tete-a-tete, and throw him under a bus. Or bust his jaw and out him to Nikki.
~sighs~ I really hoped JA would throw the FFFer across the room. (LOVED how he picked up the FFer and shook him like a rag doll)
~sighs~ Back I go to the Patio of Lowered Expectations and Dashed Hopes.

"She's rich, she's haughty, she's unstable" Well, at least he sees her as she is, the poor dysfunctional chap.

NovelaMaven: A lovely, enthralling short story. Devoured every word. The tone, the rhythm, the content -masterful.

"chattering skanks", "untruthfully and unimaginatively" and "guess they didn't stress critical thinking skills in the school in the pueblo" were among my many favorites.

Toni, great call as to the signage near the "epic smooch". Explosive and dangerous for certain.

I'm sincerely hopeful Candelaria has reserved several seats for the anvils accompanying her on her journey. I fear this ill-timed visit will bring sorrow and grief, far from the comfort and solace Cris so desperately needs now.

As JA was desperately seeking Lili, I kept pointing to "Rolando's" lair, yelling "she's right there!". Alas, he did not hear me and I was regrettably spared the opportunity to see JA pummel Roy into oblivion. However, all was not lost. I smirked with glee that "Arriaga grabed Nelson's lapels and the smaller man flaps around like a fish on a line". Most excellent! :)

At least Lili and Cris had a loving, supportive conversation. It appears Cris will need courage and fortitude for what is to come.

Thanks again Novela Maven. This was great.

Diana

Doris: Our posts crossed. Totally agree with you on wishing JA had caught Roy and what he did with Nelson. To quote you: BwaHahahahaaaa!!!

Diana

NovelaMaven- I echo everyone's praise of your wonderful recap. Plus, this episode was quite enjoyable, especially the ending. :) Glad we get to see JA shake rag doll Nelson again at the beginning of the next episode.

Roy's true name might actually be Rolando and Roy is just his nickname, like Nikki, Lili, Vicky, etc.

While JA was wandering around the (perfectly normal and not immoral at all) club looking for Lili, I thought he was being quite unprofessional leaving Nikki totally unprotected like that. She could have easily been snatched and kidnapped while he was on the other side of the club. Shame on you JA!

I really like Guzman and Adri's chemistry. They make each other smile-- something neither one of them finds easy to do.

Novela Maven, thanks for the recap and especially the translation of: Roy es híper sweet y never ever me pondría el cuerno. I don't always catch every word and these are ones I want to see her gag on later.

It is sad to see Christina and Arriaga separating, but I do see both of them contributing to it. I see Christina having a larger part, because she has mistrusted him from the beginning. She said she believed he would leave her for someone else someday. No trust, or real foundation for love. She's also very materialistic and pushed him to work for the important Balvanera family "por interest" and he didn't want to. She's easily swayed with stuff and the spotlight, so it's easy for Kendra to take advantage of her. Christina's basic insecurity has her reaching for things that don't matter. Another example, she could've worked doing many things, but she wanted to work for Kendra and have some of that splash.

And Arriaga... he just fell for a good-looking, sensitive, non-screeching woman.

NovelaMaven:

Super, super, superb recap! Love your title and this whole recap.

I saw the sign "high voltage" too, lol. This novella picks the oddest backdrops for these scenes but they are fun. I too thought that the Angel would catch Roller boy with his sweet little Orchid. Little Orchid would have been so embarrassed. She was there with Betty so the Angel should have trusted little Orchid a bit. But then again look who she was kissing!

Roy's real name is Rolando. Roy is just a nickname. I'm not liking Roy but I like it that little Orchid calls him by his full first name and not Roy. I wonder if that pic he took of little Orchid will come back to haunt him later, Hmmm

Poor Ms Vikki, and the FF has his nerve. He is the lying liar cheater, don't shoot me, I know that the Angel and Ms Vikki lust in their hearts for each other, but in this case Angel was just helping Ms Vikki, not trying to make a move. I hope Angel socks the FF a good one. I laughed so hard at your line " the smaller man flaps around like a fish on the line", lol.

Nikki, Nikki, Nikki, please don't marry that boy!!!!! She is lusting after Guzmi so much and did you notice the look on her face when Nabila brought up Guzmi's name? And that reviere she had about Guzmi kissing her. She needs to think long and hard about what she is doing. Why didn't she just ask Guzmi outright about the money? It could have solved so many problems. Nikki is so sticking her head in the sand. I want her to wake up and smell the coffee already! The heart wants what the heart wants.

Candelaria YAY! I can't wait for her to get to the D.F. already. Will the truth be told though? I am really hoping it is.

I too like Guzmi and Adri, those looks, those smiles, that spark, sorry Victoria, but Guzmi has it so bad for Nikki, Guzmi and Adri don't have a chance.

Good morning folks! Thanks for the nice words.

Vivi, it looks like you're right about "Rolando". One of the True Love experts, Madelaine, has set me straight:

"Rolando" is the Toy Boy's formal first name (nombre de pila) and "Roy" is just his nickname (apodo). I just corrected the recap to reflect this.

Thank you for keeping me honest. :)

So I wonder WHAT TRUTH Candelaria is bringing ...

--Obviously she knows that Aníbal is Cristina's father.

--Maybe she also knows that Cris's baby died at birth and Liliana isn't her biological child.

--But does she know WHOSE DAUGHTER Lili really is?

oooh, I can't wait for abuelita to roll into town!

NovelaMaven – Thanks much for the snarkilicious fun. Appreciate the detail and the vocab. Thanks for clearing up what Polita said about the dress cause I thought it was something like that but wasn’t 100% sure. Some of my favorites:

“she can't be the cause of a divorce nor be the source of Cristina's suffering. [Unless it means giving up Arriaga, I guess.]”

“Someone on the Patio points out that this place is several notches about the Chippendales dive where the Big Guy and Miss Vikki danced not so long ago. Oh well.”

“She's rich, she's haughty, she's unstable -- there's no future for them. [You make her sound like a real peach, Frankie.]”

At last, Candelaria is coming to town. At last, Adriana decides to hire a detective.

I was torn between wanting to see JA swat Roy like a fly and not wanting to see Little Orchid feel like dirt in front of her dad. Little Orchid’s being foolish to move so fast with Roy, BUT this is the first guy who’s made her feel like a grownup.

Marea Primavera – There are no signs of Cris being materialistic. She got JA into bodyguarding for the Balvaneras because she needed bail money to release JA from jail (after he slugged bogus loan guy that pocketed their money) and they were losing their ranchito due to debts. Considering that JA had already risked his own life to save her, Miss Vickie could have chosen to bail JA out without putting his bodyguarding her on the table, but she didn’t. Since “moving up” to the city and working for Kendra, Cris has spent money only on essentials like food and has never asked JA to buy her anything. She agreed to work for Kendra because it was the first and only job offer she got. She’d previously told Salsero when she asked him for help in her job search that she wasn’t picky and would take anything as she had no formal work experience. Cris interest in wanting to “better” herself by becoming more sophisticated in style, etc. is only to progress along with the rest of her family.

NM thanks so much for your recap. You always bring such delicious humor to your work. Like Diana I enjoyed "guess they didn't stress critical thinking skills in the school in the pueblo" and "Don't worry, Nikki. Roy loves the mansion. If you marry him, your family will never be alone again."

I'm really excited to hopefully see JA take out FF. I know its supposed to be ironic but it is annoying that cheating men in TNs almost always accuse their wives of cheating. Ick!

I wonder if the FF, thinking what he thinks about the Angel and Ms Vikki cheating if he won't use this as leverage? Ya know go run tell dat to Anyballs and see if he can get the Angel fired or get some money or position out of Anyballs?

And speaking of Anyballs, will he have another infarto if he runs into Candelaria? She's supposed to be dead to him, literally, Hmmmm.

Oh, and didn't you just love the eye rolls the Angel was doing in that club? It was sooo funny.

NovelaMaven---Thank you for a great
recap, super as always.
Loved your uberskank line and your
Don't worry Nikki. Roy loves the mansion. If you marry him, your family will never be alone again. And
your line about the smaller man flaps around like a fish on a line
was hilarious.

Tony---I couldn't help but notice the high voltage sign last night--
it stood out like a flashing red light.

Vivi---ITA JA should not have left Nikki alone at the club. A bodyguard mistake for sure---however, she did have her three friends with her. They would have put up a big commotion if anything
spun out of control.

Niece in MD---I really liked your comment to Marea Primavera--so well thought out.

Arriaga says--She would never set foot in a place like that--LOL

Clandaria will sure shake things up
but I'm afraid that what comes out will just devastate Cris. Poor Cris
Why does so much bad fate have to come her way. No house, no daughter and a husband that loves someone else. Plus her employer is the major villain. What more could go wrong in her life?

Victoria in Texas---I posted a very late comment yesterday. You might like the second half of it---
But that was yesterday, now there is a picture of Lili waiting for her. Roy won't be part of her life much longer. There will be no wedding. Very soon now it will be Guzmancito all the way. Bank on it.

I always love your recaps, NM and this is no exception! Such good snark here. You have such a way with words!

I was LOLing at Big Angel's hyper-dad act at the club. Yes, there would have been major DRAMA had Big Angel found Roy the Boy and Lily smooching. Wow, would that have been something! But I think they're going to dra-a-a-a-g this big reveal (that Lili's new guy is Nikki's fiance) for as long as possible. But hopefully not too long, we don't want Roy the Boy to actually marry Nikki!

Thanks for another wonderful confection, NovelaMaven. Brilliant, and your title lifted from Nikki's pouty lips is perfection.

My favorite line:

"Don't worry, Nikki. Roy loves the mansion. If you marry him, your family will never be alone again."

When Frankie said, "She's rich, she's haughty, she's unstable...", I thought for sure that Adriana would respond with "Oh...Nikki."

Carlos

Thanks, Novelamaven. Yeah...''critical thinking skills''..that's been a popular educational buzzword for quite a while now. I think that it's in every textbook that I;ve been teaching from for the last 10 years or so...reading, writing, and speaking. I'm ready for some new lingo. However, none of these characters have been doing much critical thinking...or any other kind of thinking for that matter. Anyhoo, I've only been surfing into this novela occasionally now that ''dancing with the Stars'' and ''The Voice'' have captured my attention. p.s. I'd like to let Nikki know that my student from Morocco gave a speech and informed the class that in the southern area of Morrocco, the Berbers think plump is beautiful. They value a little meat on the bones of their womenfolk.

''the smaller man flaps...''....ah, yes...smaller , indeed...in so many, many ways.

Why do Adriana and Guzman feel the need to keep their friendship a secret? I would think that Adriana being the supposedly independent individual she is, who her friends are would be nobody's business. They don't have to say how they met (but so what if they do?), simply "we've become friends" to anyone who asks. Keeping it on the low-down seems dumb, IMO.

While Lili went ballistic upon finding out her parents are separating, it didn't take her long to calm down and realize that the problem is, indeed, between the two of them. Unlike Nelson and Victoria, her parents didn't find it necessary to lie and/or stay together "for the sake of the child" - proving once again how much more mature Lili is than Nikki.

Maybe the fact that Cris went to work and Lili's going to Xochimilco was setting it up for Cande to come into town, find no one home and knock on the neighbor's door (Paula!) for a drink of water. Ruh-Roh!

Hi, Susanlynn.

Did you see Jesús' matching pink polo shirt/draped-over-shoulders-sweater combo last night? It got me to thinking that maybe a designer should capture that LOOK by designing a shirt with detachable matching and/or contrasting sweater to be sold as a unit, the fercol combo or maybe the JESÚS LOOK.

Carlos

Niece in MD, materialistic was probably not the best word to describe Chris, although I think she is interested in accumulating material things. I saw her wanting Arriaga to work for the Balvaneras as more self-serving than just paying off a debt.

She wants the limelight, like Kendra, showing off to the world. There were fantasy scenes where she was the big star at the arm of Arriaga taking in the adoration with all her finery...until he was taken away from her. She just loved that he was a big star on tv, until she thought all that attention on him was a risk to her losing him. She was so impressed by Paula and all her finery, asking her to help her replicate it, even borrowing her perfume because it was so fine. She just loved all the attention money could buy at the spa and reveled in it.

She agreed to work for Kendra because it was easy and offered what she wanted - celebrity. She didn't 'look' for a job, except to ask Salsero. She didn't want to be picky, but why start at the bottom, when she could be at the top with a star -even though she wasn't qualified and her husband didn't respect her boss.

Actually, I feel pity for Chris because she's her own worst enemy. She's loud, know it all, obnoxious, and dim. Otherwise, she's ok.

Marea Primavera

NM, thanks for the recap.

I think Candelaria did (or witnessed) the baby switch to save Cris the pain of losing her child.

And, when it comes to product placements . . . forget the wedding gowns. This show needs
Tostachos!

Carlos.... you've turned mean. Yes, I surfed into PEAM briefly last night and saw the watermelon-hued twinset on my noble hero. ...It's been a bad year, and this fashion trend just might be a sign that it's not getting any better any time soon. I need to bring out my Alborada dvd and watch Don Luis in all his manly-man glory galloping down the beach on his noble steed to save Hipolita or dueling with the foppish Antonio or perhaps, putting the moves on Hip in that cozy little casa he bought for her. Is nothing sacred anymore?.....Don't answer that. ~~~Susanlynn, trying to hang on to the dream

Marea Primavera - We'll have to agree to disagree. I see Cris as loving JA and her daughter and asking PaulaToo and Kendra for tips cause she wants to adapt to the city and the new lifestyle JA is having. Cris did pound the pavement looking for a job. The day that JA came home unexpectedly in the afternoon and left the flower and a note and then went to visit Opalina for the first time, Cris was out looking for a job; she had left a noted telling Little Orchid that dinner was in the fridge. Cris wants to be with JA whatever he does. When he put his foot down to more modeling, she said okay. Most folks at times fantasize about being a star. In my fantasy, I'm doing backup for Prince.

NovelaMaven- I Lol's on more than one occasion. WONDERFUL REAP! THANK YOU!

Gringo I responded to your post that posted last night shortly after.

Carlos- " I thought for sure that Adriana would respond with "Oh...Nikki."." I laughed more than I expected too when I came across this comment. lol

I'm actually looking forward to the shopping for the wedding dress tonight with Nikki and Guzmancito just because it will be some "quality" time for them ;)

Team Nikki/Guzmancito

Victoria in Texas---Well yes, it's Nikki's spoiled rich girl I'm better than you brat attitude that makes her so disgusting. She certainly is pretty, it's that damned i'm such a princess attitude
that turns her off to some.

Anonymous 6:05---Yes, Lili is way more mature than Nikki. She got the name Little Orchid Wise Child some time back.
the gringo

Thank you for the fab recap, Maven! I loved it, especially the hostile race of aliens part. :D
