PEAM #49- 5/17/13- Vero Who Loves Jesus Who Loves Alma Who loves Jesus Who Doesn't Love Xochy.
Labels: Manda
What a marvelous recap. Loved the whole thing.
I am with you and Gertie, about finally, finally Chucho had that talk with Xochi. I feel sorry for her, but he did the right thing. I too hope that is a dream or a thought about her jumping and I hope she really isn't jumping. She needs a nice guy that is really into her.
Ay yi yi, Panfilo! I feel so bad for him. That foot and lower leg look awful. I am hoping his leg can be saved. Maybe Alma will help Maricela and Panfilo. I too wish that Maricela would just tell all her friends about her real circumstances. The longer she waits to tell the worse they are going to be to her, knowing she lied to them all this time.
Chatita really is the voice of reason. I liked the way she told Maricela it was time to tell the truth, and also had Alma paint with her. Chatita is very sweet.
So Elias. What is wrong with the dude? Is he going to lay around from now on? He and Vero do need to talk, but I wish Elias would stop listening to things third hand and sit down with Chucho and talk to him and get the true skinny on what happened the night of the dinner. Elias knows Vero likes to stretch the truth, Valentina is only a child and repeats what her Mama says, so Elias needs to get a grip. Don't get me wrong, I still like him, and I'm glad he moved back into his house, but the dude really needs to get himself straight and handle his problems. He is almost as bad as Vero as far as believing what he wants to believe.
What is the big deal with
The picture Jesus and Alma don't want Rogelio to see, when Rogelio SAW THE ACTUAL THING!!
Virgen de Guadalupe ''talking'' to Jesús?
The leg pain, that was almost by the groin now has damaged the foot? How did that happen so suddenly?
Vero with those open flames in the back? Didn't anybody pictured her with horns and I trident? I was expecting one of those ''tricks'' where they say what they actually think and then is just another deceit. Daydreaming I think they call it...
Alma and Chatita wearing uniforms to paint the room?
and don't get me started on Xóchitl's suicide!!
-Juárever!
I miss Bizca, I hope she comes to work tomorrow!
Ditto with you all. I am so relieved that Jésus finally told Xochitl the truth. She's so screwed up that I expect a bit of trouble from her. It would be nice if the preview oi her jumping turns out to be an abortive attempt... and that Julio is there to save her ...and she falls into his arms ...and they stare soulfully into one another's eyes ...and... But I guess it's way too early in the game for them to end up together.
Sebastian is just too creepy. He needs to back off.
Did Paty already drug Rogue? I assumed that she would enjoy a night of passion first. I gather that the drugs are to knocj him out so that he can't make the pre-cana classes.
I do like the new Fern. I hope he manages to stay in the Light.
I hope that they can save Panfilo's leg. I know someone who has those diabetic ulcers on his foot and leg. They are very difficult to treat. I too was wondering why Panfilo was grabing the top of his leg when diabetic leg problems usually are at the extremities. Maybe it was just a way of bending over in pain and not an indication that the pain was higher on the leg. Maybe at last Marisela will have to come clean about her background and stop lying to her friends.
I've never cared much for Carmen Salinas before but I do love Chatita. What a voice of reason.
Güera
Panfilo was always complaining about pain and we never knew what that was all about until now.
I'm still laughing at the painting uniforms.
Gertie- the tequila sounds better than the soy milk-LOL
My former editor eventually had to have his foot amputated. Diabetes. Foot injury on European trip. Not treated soon enough. And...going, going, gone. Wound healing is always poor when you have that condition.
Add me to the list of the grateful on Chucho finally having the talk with Xochi. But I don't think she will go gentle into that good night. Sad that she seems so desperate, I wish the supposed friends of her would have given her decent advice and a real makeover. Something to give her some self-confidence. I can see her becoming obsessive and maybe ratting out Jesus and Alma to either Sebastian ( idiot) or Rog. She'll eventually be ok, but will cause trouble I"m betting in the short term.
Rog won't make those classes! Wonder what Pati's ultimate scheme is in drugging Rog. Wonder if she's going to try the "get pregnant" trap. Gees I hope not...so not funny.
I hate what they are doing to Elias. I know he's depressed and angry, but I don't want him turned into a bum. Stop it writers!!
Daisy
I agree with you all that is was good for Jesús to finally tell Xochi the truth. Her reaction was unfortunately just what I expected.
Chatita has turned out to be a really valuable character. That is something I didn't expect at the start of this.
Who knew Alma could paint??
Jarifa
The avances voice over guy cracked me up on the Xochi part.
.Hoping to get to the recap/comments soon.
Nanette
I couldn't figure out why squelching that photo was any sort of priority. Everyone was there for the actual event where the photo was taken. From the angle, anyone could figure out who had taken in and added the juvenile caption. Juárever.
I am thrilled that Hey-soooos FINALLY set Xcreechi straight. I think she'll be just fine and the roof shot is misdirection or an opportunity for something else to happen. Avances Voiceover Guy is a real hoot, though. Where did they find him, and who writes his bits? Lunivision has actually done something well, for once.
So, finally, the breakup with Xochi! I'll have to catch up this weekend. Can't wait to check out Malvino's new sidekick... I was starting to wonder if we were ever going to see Malvino again!
Favorite lines:
- Xochy starts reacting like she is a fatal attraction.
- Paty is hot and ready and so is the sofa.
- All Alma can say is ay!!
I like Mala Suerte Guy, though, and I think the Nationwide Está de Tu Lado Guy has beautiful diction. I never FF through that one, and now I think I know the whole thing by heart.
I get all the Genoma Lab ads too. But I see those on Univision only. The Avon one is EVERYWHERE. Major network prime time, daytime, the rerun channels, Uni, you name it. In the English version, the woman's voice annoys me as much as the general lameness of the message. The voice in the Spanish version is almost as bad.
A few years back, before Genoma Lab and the concha cream ads, it was Emagrece Slim. Twice an hour. It had a loud but un-catchy jingle and a lot of skanky dancing girls. It was a weight loss product, and it ended up having problems with the FDA. Ah, good times.
(Either I never see the Mala Suerte guy or he just isn't as funny as Mr. Mayhem, because I never notice him. I sometimes see the one where a guy is having a focus group with a bunch of little kids who try to explain why faster is better. I love that one!)
Right now my favorites are a very original men soap where the guy showers and feels showered the whole day, everywhere he goes. You don't see that in spanish.
I like the Pine sol commercials with the different scents put to work, they are funny.
Anyone remembers the Twix commercial with the baby saying p**a? (bleeped, of course, but anyway)...
