PEAM #49- 5/17/13- Vero Who Loves Jesus Who Loves Alma Who loves Jesus Who Doesn't Love Xochy.

We begin at the cafeteria with Susana inquiring about what is going on between Jessica and Rogue because Ferny didn’t move a finger for her but Susana sees Jessica going into Rogue’s office on several occasions but before she can lie we are interrupted by Xochy screeching about Marsela’s father needing an amputation.  Rogue wants the money ($50,000 for the  “wedding”) from storage and Fern who has seen the light will have no parts of it. He thought bubbles to the last time when he tried to get the “dirty” money and ended up on the garbage truck.  Rogue yells at his brother and then has the nerve to say do it, it’s an order and don’t act childish.
The secretarial cartel wants to go to the hospital to support their buddy.  Marisela leaves with Chatita.  Chatita lets Marisela know that her friends love you and you lie and deceive them.  Your lies will catch up to you one day.  Chatita has a convenient memory lapse.

Rogue is overheard by his FIL making plans with Patty, Alma’s best friend. Rogue lies and says that it’s a collaborator.  He is going to Toluca to see the President of Avon and is on his way to the airport.  Sebastian warns Rogue to be careful, he almost lost his life over a woman who wasn’t his wife and lost his money, it also broke up his relationship with his daughter, Alma.  He lets Rogue know that Alma won’t tolerant unfaithfulness. He won’t judge him but his priority is his daughter and he better no let her suffer. Paty is waiting for Rogue with tablets. (Are they blue??)

Jesus lets Alma know about Marsela’s father and that Chatita told him that he not a millionaire but a civil servant and they both hope that no one sees the yoga photo.  They both admire the yoga picture.  He wants Alma to erase it so that it doesn’t get into the hands of Rogue or the 3 Stupids. Jesus would like to knock some sense into the heads of the 3 Losers. Alma thought that Jesus was not coming to the wedding but he told her that he is.  She is happy.  He has no plans of going to Puerto Vallarta.  Speaking of his women, what’s the latest with Vero? Sebastian (he needs to knock although I know that he doesn’t have to) interrupts Alma and Jesus in yet another comprising exchange.  Sebastian looks a tad bit worried.

Jessica chases Rogue to the parking lot and lets him know that she knows about his affair with Patricia.  She looooooves gossip!! She thanks Rogue for moving her upstairs.  He reminds Jessica to keep her mouth shut about what happened at his house last night.  She lets him know that they saw him dancing with Julio on the cameras.

Elias tries to watch a soccer game while Vero stands in front of the TV and lets him know that they are not sleeping together. He tells her to ask Minerva bring him something to eat.  He is hungry and doesn’t want any greens or anything healthy.  He asks her to move and she threatens to have him evicted with the aid of a lawyer.   She acts like she s 12 and starts yelling that she hates Elias.

Sebastian wants to talk to Jesus, yet again.  Sebastian reminds Jesus to stay away from Alma, and he is not kidding.  Jesus asks Sebastian why is he so scared?  We all know the answer.  He makes it known that he is not a force to be reckoned with and Jesus should leave Alma alone. Jesus and Alma are just friends.  Jesus gets a nudge from La Virgencita.

Paty reminds Rogue that he has to treat her like a queen and then smells Jessica’s scent on his clothes.  Oh Paty, you are just paranoid.  Yeah right!!!(If he cheats with you, he will cheat on you)

High and Mighty Marisela goes to the hospital with the commoners and gets on a loooooong line to get a visitor’s pass.

Elias thanks Minerva for some junk food and continues watching TV.  The Ice Princess doesn’t like eating in the bed, but Elias says that it’s okay because she is not sleeping there.  He will stay in the guest room.  He asks for Val, who is at ballet class.  Where’s the Ice Queen?? Minerva doesn’t know.

Vero goes to see Jesus and lets him know that Elias is at the Ice Castle.  Jesus has a mountain of work to complete, so Veronica decides that they meet at the coffee shop in the park.  Xochy is lurking in the background and I think that I hear Hitchcock type music. Xochy is attached at Jesus’ hip. Sebastian invites Susana out for a coffee.  Jesus needs Rogue’s cell number, because there is a letter for the Legal Department that has to be signed by him today.  He calls Rogue (who has the only ringtone in Monterrey).  Rogue says that he is boarding the plane but Jesus can hear voices and honking.  Rogue tells Jesus to let Alma sign the papers.  Jesus smells a rat.

Panfilio is ecstatic to see Marisela.

Jesus tells Alma about the papers that Rogue needs to sign and Alma says that he should be in flight to Toluca.  His flight left about a half of an hour ago. Jesus remembers hearing the honking and makes one of his famous facial expressions.  When he arrives in Toluca we will arrange a way for him to sign it. She will speak to the Legal Department and they can get the letter tomorrow. Rogue has to return tomorrow for the premarital talks classes at church.  Susana goes with Sebastian, Xochy better not say a word while she watches Alma’s door.  She is acting a little psycho to me. Alma notes that Jesus is a little nervous and he says he is nervous because he hasn’t had a chance to talk to Xochy and Vero came to see him to tell him that Elias has returned home, she is waiting in the coffee shop for him he has to paint Valentina’s room yellow with butterflies, orange curtains and a rainbow. Alma tells Jesus to make a list of everything that he has to do and prioritize.  Val is his first priority. Jesus shares that Vero does not have any love for Elias and Val has been a witness to the arguments between Vero and Elias.

Valentina is so glad to see her Papa Elias, while The Ice Princess textx Jesus to see when is he coming.  Jesus is still catching up with Alma who is pressing him to talk to Xochy and let her down easy.  He explains that when she said that they were a pair he kept quiet because he did not’ want to hurt her, but it has gone on too long.  Jesus checks his cell (same ringtone), while Xochy texts him too.  She is also waiting (stalking) for him but he would rather be with his Guardian Angel, Alma.

Jesus cuts Xochy off; he needs a half of an hour.  He is going to Vero.  As usual Xochy sulks.

Panfilio minimizes his illness, while Marsela’s phone rings (the same ringtone).  Marisela wants to know why didn’t he take care of himself but he couldn’t he needed to work because she always wants money. It’s Xochy checking on her dad’s condition.  Marisela lies again, that he is being cared for by the best doctors.  She is calling one from Houston to come and see him.  The nurse tells her that cells are not allowed in the hospital.    Chatita overhears the lie about the Houston doctor and proceeds to rip Marsela a new one and tells her that its IMPORTANT that her father get the leg that he needs. We also get a visual on his leg.  Without his leg he can’t work.  He needs everyone’s help.  Cut the crap and go to your dad, he needs you more than ever.  What a sad scene.  Thank goodness for Chatita!!!

Jesus meets Vero and she gives him a big hug.  Elias and Val are going to play when she tells him that her mom asked if she wanted Jesus to live with them. By his facial expression. Elias did not take that news well.

Jesus asks Vero if there is anyway that she and Elias can reconcile. They have to think about Val first and foremost.  Vero- speaks of divorce, splitting property and custody of Val.  Jesus asks Vero to speak calmly with Elias and little by little things will resolve themselves. Vero just loves Jesus even more.  Jesus can’t win for losing.  Patience is the key word!!!

Xochy whines to Alma that Jesus has time for everyone but her.  Alma lets her know that he is with Vero and they share a child.  Xochy comes back with Vero tried to kiss Jesus.  All Alma can say is ay!!

As night falls and Paty and Rogue arrive at the ranch.  Rogue thinks about the phone call from Jesus and that they were on the highway instead of the air and he will get caught in his lie. Paty watches Rogue drink the drugged drink.

Marisela is thinking about the medical expenses for her dad.  She wants him to have the best. Chatita lets Marisela know that she has to sacrifice for the health of her dad.  Alma arrives.  These days are crucial for Panfilio.  It is not sure if his leg can be saved.  Alma will take Chatita home, because there is something very important that she has to do there.  Chatita reaches into her big bra to pull out a large bunch of keys.

Xochy sees make up on Jesus’ fuchsia shirt.  She wants to know what is going on with Vero.  He reminds Xochy that she is the mother of his daughter.  She thanks him for meeting her mom.  She is so sorry for being jealous.  Finally!! Jesus considers her a great woman BUT let’s sit down.  It pains me to tell you but sorry Xochy but I am not your man AND I don’t love you!!!

At the “coffee shop”, oops, elegant restaurant Susana is grateful for being at such an elegant setting, there’s a first time for everything; She is a little worried about getting home to her husband.  He only thing happening tonight is dinner, so she can relax.

Jesus softly lets down Xochy, who still doesn’t get it.  He admires her but he doesn’t want to hurt her and she goes on making herself look pathetic.  Jesus tells her that she is marvelous, then why doesn’t he love her.  It would only be a one-way love affair.  She tells him that it would happen over time.  They can only be friends.  Xochy starts reacting like she is a fatal attraction; she says that her mother is always right; a man like him wouldn’t love someone like her.  Jesus tries to give her some advice about not letting her mother always bring down her self esteem but it falls on deaf ears. Xochy lets Jesus know that she is no fool and she knows that Jesus loves Alma.

Back at the love fest, Rogue is still drinking and he reminds her that he has to return early tomorrow for the pre Cana classes. Paty is hot and ready and so is the sofa.  Fade to candles, and then fade to black.

Ferny is at the warehouse and trips an alarm scaring Malvino and someone else. Malvino introduces his new helper- The Skull, who greets Ferny. Silverio went to a better place. Ferny says that he needs $50,000 for the wedding. Malvino gives Fern the money.  Malvino makes small talk- why wasn’t he invited to the wedding.  Fern was in a rush to get out of that dark place, he needed more light.

Jesus arrives home and finds that Alma is there painting with Chatita.

At the Ice Castle Val is drinking soymilk and Elias pretends to try some.  Vero hears Jesus’ words in her head and enters in a very good mood.  Val has to go to bed so that she and Elias can talk.  Elias has an “oh joy” expression on his face.

Jesus can’t believe it, she wants to help him.  He thanks her for existing (living).

Coining- Jesus has no doubts that Rogue is a liar. Is Xochy going to kill herself?  Don’t jump Xoxhy!!!!

Finally a decent episode to recap. I am glad that Jesus finally let Xochy down softly. Enough was enough.

Thanks for the 'quickie', TJ. So glad that Jesus told Xotchi the truth about how he feels about her. I'll bet you a soy milk that the whole Xotchi jumping off the building thing is another one of those fake, misleading previews. They're just messing with us. Lets make that a tequila shot instead!. Gertie

TJ:

What a marvelous recap. Loved the whole thing.

I am with you and Gertie, about finally, finally Chucho had that talk with Xochi. I feel sorry for her, but he did the right thing. I too hope that is a dream or a thought about her jumping and I hope she really isn't jumping. She needs a nice guy that is really into her.

Ay yi yi, Panfilo! I feel so bad for him. That foot and lower leg look awful. I am hoping his leg can be saved. Maybe Alma will help Maricela and Panfilo. I too wish that Maricela would just tell all her friends about her real circumstances. The longer she waits to tell the worse they are going to be to her, knowing she lied to them all this time.

Chatita really is the voice of reason. I liked the way she told Maricela it was time to tell the truth, and also had Alma paint with her. Chatita is very sweet.

So Elias. What is wrong with the dude? Is he going to lay around from now on? He and Vero do need to talk, but I wish Elias would stop listening to things third hand and sit down with Chucho and talk to him and get the true skinny on what happened the night of the dinner. Elias knows Vero likes to stretch the truth, Valentina is only a child and repeats what her Mama says, so Elias needs to get a grip. Don't get me wrong, I still like him, and I'm glad he moved back into his house, but the dude really needs to get himself straight and handle his problems. He is almost as bad as Vero as far as believing what he wants to believe.

Yeah! Elías needs to find another job and go to work... he looks very comfortable just laying around...

What is the big deal with

The picture Jesus and Alma don't want Rogelio to see, when Rogelio SAW THE ACTUAL THING!!

Virgen de Guadalupe ''talking'' to Jesús?

The leg pain, that was almost by the groin now has damaged the foot? How did that happen so suddenly?

Vero with those open flames in the back? Didn't anybody pictured her with horns and I trident? I was expecting one of those ''tricks'' where they say what they actually think and then is just another deceit. Daydreaming I think they call it...

Alma and Chatita wearing uniforms to paint the room?

and don't get me started on Xóchitl's suicide!!

-Juárever!

I miss Bizca, I hope she comes to work tomorrow!

You score again, Tablet Jefa. What a great recap.

Ditto with you all. I am so relieved that Jésus finally told Xochitl the truth. She's so screwed up that I expect a bit of trouble from her. It would be nice if the preview oi her jumping turns out to be an abortive attempt... and that Julio is there to save her ...and she falls into his arms ...and they stare soulfully into one another's eyes ...and... But I guess it's way too early in the game for them to end up together.

Sebastian is just too creepy. He needs to back off.

Did Paty already drug Rogue? I assumed that she would enjoy a night of passion first. I gather that the drugs are to knocj him out so that he can't make the pre-cana classes.

I do like the new Fern. I hope he manages to stay in the Light.

I hope that they can save Panfilo's leg. I know someone who has those diabetic ulcers on his foot and leg. They are very difficult to treat. I too was wondering why Panfilo was grabing the top of his leg when diabetic leg problems usually are at the extremities. Maybe it was just a way of bending over in pain and not an indication that the pain was higher on the leg. Maybe at last Marisela will have to come clean about her background and stop lying to her friends.

I've never cared much for Carmen Salinas before but I do love Chatita. What a voice of reason.

Güera

Pablo, I don't trust Vero's change, that is why I still call her the Ice Princess.
Panfilo was always complaining about pain and we never knew what that was all about until now.
I'm still laughing at the painting uniforms.
Gertie- the tequila sounds better than the soy milk-LOL

Thanks Tablet Jefa...Haven't seen this and probably won't have a chance to watch my recording today, but verrrry glad that Chucho finally gave Xochi the 411.

My former editor eventually had to have his foot amputated. Diabetes. Foot injury on European trip. Not treated soon enough. And...going, going, gone. Wound healing is always poor when you have that condition.

Thanks for the great recap TJ. You had some great action last night. For once, an episode with something besides silly stuff.

Add me to the list of the grateful on Chucho finally having the talk with Xochi. But I don't think she will go gentle into that good night. Sad that she seems so desperate, I wish the supposed friends of her would have given her decent advice and a real makeover. Something to give her some self-confidence. I can see her becoming obsessive and maybe ratting out Jesus and Alma to either Sebastian ( idiot) or Rog. She'll eventually be ok, but will cause trouble I"m betting in the short term.

Rog won't make those classes! Wonder what Pati's ultimate scheme is in drugging Rog. Wonder if she's going to try the "get pregnant" trap. Gees I hope not...so not funny.

I hate what they are doing to Elias. I know he's depressed and angry, but I don't want him turned into a bum. Stop it writers!!

Daisy

TJ, thanks for the great recap.

I agree with you all that is was good for Jesús to finally tell Xochi the truth. Her reaction was unfortunately just what I expected.

Chatita has turned out to be a really valuable character. That is something I didn't expect at the start of this.

Who knew Alma could paint??

Jarifa

Just had to jump on here real quick.

The avances voice over guy cracked me up on the Xochi part.

.Hoping to get to the recap/comments soon.

Nanette

Splendid recap, de verdad.

I couldn't figure out why squelching that photo was any sort of priority. Everyone was there for the actual event where the photo was taken. From the angle, anyone could figure out who had taken in and added the juvenile caption. Juárever.

I am thrilled that Hey-soooos FINALLY set Xcreechi straight. I think she'll be just fine and the roof shot is misdirection or an opportunity for something else to happen. Avances Voiceover Guy is a real hoot, though. Where did they find him, and who writes his bits? Lunivision has actually done something well, for once.

Thanks, TJ! "Jesus [...] makes one of his famous facial expressions." LOL, I can picture it!

So, finally, the breakup with Xochi! I'll have to catch up this weekend. Can't wait to check out Malvino's new sidekick... I was starting to wonder if we were ever going to see Malvino again!

Thanks, TJ! Great job working in all the plot points. That was a pretty busy episode.

Favorite lines:

- Xochy starts reacting like she is a fatal attraction.

- Paty is hot and ready and so is the sofa.

- All Alma can say is ay!!

I didn't even notice Avances Voiceover Guy -- I'll have to go back and replay the last few seconds. (And I'm still waiting for my red lipstick commercial...how come all I ever get is pseudopharmaceuticals from Genoma Lab?)

Blue, I see the red lipstick commercial during EVERY SHOW and on EVERY CHANNEL. I don't know why you're being spared, but just count your blessings!

I mostly get the same terrible local auto dealer and insurance adverts during every show.

I'm not sure it's a blessing, Julie! I get the ad that tells me stress sweat smells worse than regular sweat, then one that tries to convince me to wear special pants to make me sweat MORE, followed by a creepy Tibetan guy offering me sleeping pills in case I'm under too much stress from the mixed messages.

I like Mala Suerte Guy, though, and I think the Nationwide Está de Tu Lado Guy has beautiful diction. I never FF through that one, and now I think I know the whole thing by heart.

I love Avances Voiceover Guy. He's like the Don Pardo of Univision.

I get all the Genoma Lab ads too. But I see those on Univision only. The Avon one is EVERYWHERE. Major network prime time, daytime, the rerun channels, Uni, you name it. In the English version, the woman's voice annoys me as much as the general lameness of the message. The voice in the Spanish version is almost as bad.

A few years back, before Genoma Lab and the concha cream ads, it was Emagrece Slim. Twice an hour. It had a loud but un-catchy jingle and a lot of skanky dancing girls. It was a weight loss product, and it ended up having problems with the FDA. Ah, good times.

(Either I never see the Mala Suerte guy or he just isn't as funny as Mr. Mayhem, because I never notice him. I sometimes see the one where a guy is having a focus group with a bunch of little kids who try to explain why faster is better. I love that one!)

I like commercials too.
Right now my favorites are a very original men soap where the guy showers and feels showered the whole day, everywhere he goes. You don't see that in spanish.
I like the Pine sol commercials with the different scents put to work, they are funny.
Anyone remembers the Twix commercial with the baby saying p**a? (bleeped, of course, but anyway)...

TJ, GREAT recap! Thank you for all the details. What a happenin' episode and so glad you got it because you truly did it justice.
