PEAM #60-5/31/13- It's The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year, For Some That Is!

Marta Doesn't Want Vero as a Patient, Merry Christmas:
Marta informs Vero that she can't have her as a patient anymore. She needs to find another therapist and Marta gives her a recommendation for a new one. She will however still see Valentina.

The Very Sad Goodbye:
We start this epi with Discua and Ferny as Ferny is begging Discua not to leave him, please, with a cherry on top, please, but Discua is so done with him. The police officer is holding him back as Discua winks at him and walks off. Poor Ferny is devestated!

The rest of this recap will not be in order. I am going to start with the Elias, Valentina, Chucho and Vero not so Merry Christmas.

Good Night, Sleep Tight, and Pleasant Dreams To You, Valentina:
Elias and Chucho are putting Valentina to bed. Elias isn't happy that Chucho is there, from the look on his face, but Chucho is so very happy to have spent his first Christmas with Valentina. Before both her Papas go, Valentina asks for the Queen and Aide dolls to sleep with. Elias isn't happy about that, but she gets her wish. She asks for more of the story about the Queen and her Aide, so using that huge Teddy Bear Chucho tells Valentina all about the Queen's Papa being ill, and the wedding was cancelled but, it is now on for the New Year and the Aide has resigned himself to the Queen and that King getting married. Good Night Valentina.

Chucho Tries to Set Elias Straight, Good Luck With That!

Elias is still mad at Chucho, of course. They are out in the hallway having a convo. Elias is jealous cause he thinks not only does Chucho want Vero, but Valentina now loves Chucho more than him. Chucho sets him straight and tells him that Valentina loves them both the same. He's there for Valentina, not for Vero, but Elias isn't buying it. Elias thinks the bedtime story Chuco tells Valentina, you know the Queen and her Aide, is really all about Vero and Chucho! Elias thinks that since Chucho wasn't able to get Alma, he wants Vero! No matter how hard Chucho tries to tell Elias he is wrong, it's like talking to the hand, cause Elias is not listening. Chucho even suggests that maybe Elias ought to work on the marriage, but Elias walks off.

Merry Christmas Darling:
Vero and Chucho are sitting at the dining room table having a little convo. They are sitting there and Vero tells Chucho that Marta won't give her anymore therapy. Only Valentina. Chucho has some thoughts and thinks about that greeting Marta gave to Elias when she arrived for Christmas. Chucho is far away, lost in thought, and Vero is trying to get his attention. Chucho finally comes out with it and thinks maybe Marta is in love with Elias, cara de impactada de Vero! Vero is pithed, but Chucho tells her not to get carried away, it is just a thought. Vero thinks this is why Marta dropped her as a patient. Vero so isn't liking this, not cause she's jealous, you understand, but because it will effect Valentina. Vero thinks maybe she ought to have another therapist for Valentina, since this seems to be a conflict. Chucho wants to go, but Vero gets all grabby handy and asks him to stay. Elias is coming down the stairs and sees this. Chucho stays and Elias finds the nearest ficus tree and hides himself and listens in. Vero and Chucho are talking about their past and the mistakes that were made. Elias is listening to everything. Elias is mimicking them, too funny. Chucho tells Vero he just can't understand why Vero is so eager to kick, er, get rid of Elias, he is such a great Papa to Valentina. Elias is actually liking what he is hearing, but can't beleive that Chucho said this. Elias is very confused right about now! Vero agrees that Elias is a great Papa for Valentina but he just ain't for her. Elias is shocked. Chucho reminds Vero of her obsessive rules and regs that are wearing on Elias. Vero says no matter how hard she's tried, she doesn't love Elias and never did. Merry Christmas Darling Elias. Elias is just crushed!

A Merry Christmas Was Had by All the Sillies, Except One or Maybe Two:
We will start with Cardenas, who I will refer to as Cardy, Jess and Gennie, I know her name is Genoveva, but I like the nickname Genny for her. They are all having such a marvelous time. Jess is actually behaving herself and it seems that Jess and Genny have bonded. Cardy is over the moon. He receives an antenna from his Mama, and he gives a gift to Jess. It is a doll and it says Cute Doll on the package. How sweet. Jess thanks Genny for having her over for Christmas she feels like part of the family and Genny is really liking her too, and holds her hand. Awww. Later, Cardy takes Jess home. She is gushing about his Mama, she likes her so much. Jess mentions her Mama lives far away and there is some problem, but it is a long story, better left for another time. Jess gives Cardy a smoochie on the cheek and Cardy is over the moon. As Jess goes inside, Cardy hopes there is some hope for them, Awwww.

Meanwhile, Santa Julio, Santa J here, is out with Xochi in that bar. They are having a most wonderful time. She is grinning from ear to ear cause Santa J is mimicking her crazy Mama. Xochi is actually laughing and asks Santa J if he'd like to dance? They do and Xochi is trying, but doesn't quite get the beat, but she continues on, how sweet! Later, Santa J takes Xochi home and she thanks him for such a wonderful Christmas and he leans in for the kiss, and whoa, rejected, but she does tell him she isn't ready for that yet. She goes in, and Santa J is just so happy she had a good time and his cell rings. It's Ricardo who wants to partay, Santa J is on his way.

Ricardo is all by his lonesome, no Maricela, no sillie buddies when, knocky, knocky on the door and it's Don Gil come for a little partay. He's even brought the hooch, which looks like Champagne. Does this guy know how to partay or what? He explains to Ricardo his wife went to bed three hours ago and he wanted to do something. Now Santa J has arrived and so has Cardy and they are having a wonderful Christmas time. Cardy has brought more hooch and Santa J rubs his head. They now recount all their happy evenings and Santa J tells them he had a wonderful time with Xochi, Cardy had a wonderful time with Jess, Ricardo thought he'd be having a Blue Christmas but now all his buddies are here, and Don Gil seems a bit maudlin and they want to know why he didn't spend this time with the wifey pooh. Essentially his is bored in his marriage, he is with her out of habit and his life is well, monotonous. Pobrecito! Ricardo thinks that marriage is a blessed sacrament. Don Gil, not so much.

The Ghost of Christmas Future?
Alma and Rogue are still at the hospital sharing a chair and fast asleep. Are they having dreams about sugar plums dancing in their heads? Hmmm. Well, at least Rogue isn't. He's dreaming he is in La Carcel in those fashionable pinstripes, doing time for his many misdeeds, when who should show up but his enlightened bro, St Ferny complete with white robe. Rogue is screaming at him for putting him in that cell, and St Ferny pontificates that it is about time that Ferny paid for all his misdeeds. He's also brought another visitor with him, St Bisqua, er, Discua that is, the true love of his life. St Discua also tells him he should have followed the enlightened path and calls him BIL. Rogue screams at her too and calls her Bisqua, she corrects him of course while winking at him. Rogue screams as they are kissing. Rogue wakes up screaming and has scared Sebastian into almost having another infarto and Alma is upset too. Que the juarever is going on here. Rogue needs some air, he tells Alma and Sebastian nothing is good and he goes. Alma and Sebastian are puzzled.

All I Want For Christmas is Discua:
Ferny is having a bad time of it. He is on his bed, crying his little peepers out. Jeepers Creepers! He is very angry at Rogue and swears that his bubby will pay for what he's done to poor Ferny. There will be pay back!

It's a Yellow Marshmallow World:
Chucho is at his place, since his Christmas is basically done, and is painting his place that soft, what I like to refer to, as Marshmallow yellow, and contemplating. We don't know what, no thought bubbles, just lots of painting.

The Clock Moves Forward Once Again!

Breakfast at Chatita's With A Heaping, Helping of Listening and Advice:
Chatita and her "adopted" son Chucho are having a repast of not only food but rehashing of Alma and Chucho and Chucho and Vero. Chatita knows how tense it has been with Elias and Vero and Chucho tells her he tried to tell Elias what the relationship with he and Vero was all about. Also Chucho tells her he has accepted the fact that Alma is marrying Rogue.

Sebastian Is Released:
Alma is helping her Pappy as he is being released from the hospital. The Doc warns him about fatty food and cholesterol and Alma will make sure he eats healthily. He gets his scrip for meds and goes.

Rogue and Patymelt Do.......
Ok, that was misleading, what were you thinking, hmmm...anyhoo, Rogue is at home in the outside dining Patio area and Patymelt has come for another demand, er favor, er well she wants her some Rogue. Seems she wants another getaway to Rogue's ranchero before he gets married. Rogue has to be talked into it cause that damn secretary, ya know, Chucho already suspects something and besides Rogue is afraid he will run tell dat to Alma. When that damn secretary is mentioned we have little Sanson lying on the Patio and he is thinking of Chucho finding him, of Valentina and Chucho giving him some belly rubs and now this is a split screen three ways, with Sanson in the middle and the other two sides are Rogue and Chucho, methinks that Sanson would rather be with Chucho and Valentina. Rogue gets back to telling Patymelt about how Chucho called Corporate in Toluca and found out that not only did Rogue not fly there, he also wasn't even in Toluca. Well this turns Patymelt on so much she is all over her little Roguey Pooh. They get their hanky, panky with some food. No other hanky panky!

Meeting With Delia:
Chuco has come to his meeting with Delia, checking in with her. She is happy he is doing well and asks after Valentina. She mentions that they raided another bodega filled with thousands of dollars. Chucho mentions that Ferny has not been himself lately, he's kinda, sorta nervous. Delia has her suspicions about the Rivadeneiras but she has no proof. Will investigate though. She also asks Chucho to be like a detective and snoop around Avon and see if he can find out anything.

Ferny Comes To Work and There is Chisme and Rudeness:
St Ferny is no longer a saint. His armor is all tarnished and worn and he rudely comes to work, the secretaries, that would be Xochi and Maricela, try to be nice to him, but he blows them off. Even Dona Susanna tries to tell him Good Morning, but he cuts her off and wants to know where his bubby Rogue is. He isn't there of course, too busy doing that hanky, panky food thingy with Patymelt, even Jess has come out to see what is going on, and Ferny blows her off too. He goes. Jess gets the chisme that Ferny and Discua are done and that Discua has quit her job, Jess does a happy dance, Pooh, on her.

Panfilo Comes to Avon:
Panfilo and his cane have come to Avon about that promised job. He has come to see Cardy, who is still distracted with visions of Jess dancing in his head. Cardy finally gets with it and remembers about that job for Panfilo. There isn't a problem cause Alma's word is law around Avon. Panfilo is relieved.

What Don Gil Got for Christmas and It's Shiny:
The two sillies and Jess are actually working when Don Gil strolls in a mite late, with his sunglasses, the sillies want to know what is up with that. Seems Don Gil didn't get what he wanted for Christmas as in, he asked the wifey pooh for a divorce and instead she gave him something nice and shiny, that would be, when he pulls off those sunglasses, a bright and shiny black eye. Careful what you ask for!

Elias Comes to Avon:
Elias walks in and Maricela is basically fawning on him. He invites her to a client meeting dinner and she is so over the moon. Xochi hears and doesn't approve.

Alma Is Sad:
She's looking at that oragami Angel that Chucho gave her and she has that picture of the yoga thingy on her desk top screen and Maricela buzzes her and tells her Elias has arrived. He comes in the office and they go to the conference room and Alma has left that screensaver pic up.

Chucho Arrives For Work:
He greets Elias and Alma on the way to the conference room and Elias, still being a pithed off little boy, disses Chucho by saying nothing is good and goes his way. Alma stays and asks why Chucho is late, course he tells her he had to go to see to his probation person. She wants him to meet her in the conference room and he'll bring her coffee. Xochi notices that Chucho is looking sad. He just wants to tell Alma he loves her, but he doesn't tell Xochi anything. She tries to encourage him, but Chucho looks like he has given up.

Vero Has a Question for Marta:
Marta is right in the middle of a therapy session with a patient when Vero just marches right in and wants to talk to Marta. Marta tells her to go back outside and wait until she is done with this patient. Vero stands her ground and demands to know if Marta is in love with Elias! Cara de impactada de Marta and of course she doesn't answer her!

Patymelt Is Up To No Good:
Patymelt has arrived at Avon and is looking for Alma. Chucho tries to stop her from going into Alma's office, cause of course she is in the conference room with Elias, but Patymelt goes anyhow, and she sees that screen saver yoga pic on the screen. She is just over the moon and presses control 3 for print. In the meantime Chucho comes in and Patymelt says she'll wait for Alma, and to please bring her a cafecito, and she rubs herself all over Chucho as she gives him her order. He goes, and now the picture is printed. Patymelt can't wait for Rogue to see this pic cause he will just have a cow when he sees it! Even though we know Rogue was there when it was taken, but not the caption on the picture. Here we end this epi.

Avances:

Rogue and Ferny go at it again.

Ferny is on the roof of a building and looks like he'll jump as Chucho tries to stop him. Will he really jump?

Tune in Esta Lunes to find out!

Good Morning Y'all,

The Recap is up. Sorry about the pic that didn't show up. It's at the end of the recap : ) Please enjoy.

Thanks!

And thanks God they replayed yesterday's wink!! ;-)

Me detective? Never!

I don't know who designed Marta's eyebrows (Vampira?), but she is surely not using AVON eyebrow stencils, of course she comply with the beginning at the same point where the eye starts and ending at the point marked using a pencil from the nose to the other end of the eye... it's the arc that kills me! Creepy!!

The only thing Jesús and Verónica were missing was the sink. Gossiping while washing clothes in those public sinks is probably the most delightful pleasure in the world!! You didn't hear from me, but I think Marta likes Elías! I saw her licking her lips and raising her eyebrows, BOTH! when she saw him!!

Then I wonder how fake Verónica house is. She is pretentious and metal rocker, now add to that she uses plastic plants inside the house. Don't tell me that one where Elías was hiding during the gossip time is natural!! I could see the leaves inserted in the plastic tubes resembling carrizos...

The ''marshmallow yellow'' painting session seemed to me like those BOD commercials, remember?

NOw even Sansón has his own thought bubbles, and it seems like he misses Jesús (like Alma) more than he does Rogelio... poor thing!

MOre time passes but is not yet New Years Eve and Chatita got a Chal, not a Chalina, my bad!

Now that Pati will reprise Mata Hari's endeavors, Jesús will do the same at Avon. She is good, because she found a picture I didn't know existed and now she will try to show it (the printer needed ink) t Rogelio. But Rogelio already saw that, remember? Wasn't he there when all that happened? Juárever!

Oh! The monkey are at it again with yet another suicide attempt!! I hope Fernando is not up there hanging ONE towel!!

Really enjoyable recap. Zoe chee's mom is a nut job. What a waste of a great looking ham.

This novela continues to have some really funny stuff especially patymelt's facial expressions.

When will Vero go back to her old ways?

Thank you Madelaine. I liked the way you reorganized the action.

I loved the Sansom thought bubble -- just when Rogue was saying that the only faithful and trustworthy one in his life is Sanson -- and then we see even Sanson dreaming of Jésus (and Valentina)

The scene with Elias listening behind the plastic plant should have been one to make Elias give up his anger at Jésus -- but rather than give Jésus credit for sticking up for Elias -- Elias just called him a hypocrite & didn't believe that Jésus meant what he said. That was a big blow for hi to overhear that Vero never really loved him.

A couple of days ago someone (Pablo?) commented on the song that they kept using in the Posada scenes -- the one about the "pez" in the "rio." I noticed that they kept on using the same song as background during the nochebuena scenes too. I remember the song from last year when they used it on UFCS when they had a very nice Posada procession and fiesta. -- Maybe it's an Avon thing-- required of all employees in Monterrey and Toluca.

Güera

Maybe if you buy your firetruck red lipstick on Christmas, you get a free MP3!! That way you can regain your confidence and save your marriage and sing and dance too!! LOL!

Madelaine, thanks a million for a simply smashing recap. The title is perfect. I was practically rolling on the floor when you said Sanson was having his flashback. That is TOO funny! I remember when Sanson was "kidnapped" and how he gravitated toward Jesus and Valentina. Poor Rogue, it's a sad day when even his doggie wants to dump him, which apparently he does.

Sounds like Jess had a really nice Christmas. I really like the actress a lot and would like to see her character get developed some more.

Madelaine, your descriptions are great, I really felt like I could see what was going on. Thanks for that.

Great recap Madelaine! What an early lunch break treat.

So Christmas is done, and there sure was a combo of great gifts and coal in everyone's stockings. Glad to see Xochi enjoy herself and even Jess. (But then Jess had to ruin things for me with her happy dance over Ferny's breakup.)

I said it yesterday, and I'll say it again, I really don't want to see an Elias/Maricela hook up, no matter how short lived. She better not become Ms. Rebound.

And why did Chucho tell Vero about his suspicion on Marta? Some misguided attempt to make Vero jealous? I thought it was a dumb move...your little girl likes that doc you goof!!

I go on record on saying I could really go for more of the story being looked at from Sanson's perspective. Loved his little flashback. I could just imagine what he really thinks about the hijinks around him!

Daisy

Great recap MADS...both naughty and nice.

Rogelio and Patty do....now what were you thinking!? hmmmmm

and then your obvious affection for even marginal characters like Fernando

"crying his little peepers out"

. He does seem like a little lost boy without his Discua.

Two things struck me as funny last night. One I didn't hear but my amiguita did. Don Gil saying of course he and his wife were happy...right up until they walked out of the church!

And then when Chucho was painting his apartment walls yellow, my friend and I both turned to each other at the same time and sighed "Oooooh estos musculos!" Right on cue.

Still strangely creeped out by the Cardenas home situation. Mama Cardenas just seems toooo friendly. But who knows? That family may be Jessica's Happy Ending. And maybe all their kids will be tall and bald. Can't win 'em all.

I think I have had enough of the 3 song(?) Xmas music loop! Madelaine, I loved how you organized the recap!

Jarifa

JudyB, "tall and bald"...snort!

Oooo Mads, too wonderful -- lots of great lines but my fave was the subtitle "What Don Gil Got for Christmas and It's Shiny"! The Uni make-up department does it again!

Caught the first epi of Familia the other night, and I was happy to see they brought Sergio right in at the beginning. And man oh man, that man still rocks the suit.

-- Blue Lass, between gmail addresses

Ah Sylvia...somehow I just can't imagine Cardenas and Jessica mating...and yet that's clearly what out little owlish guy wants.

Still, in the credits, when he lowers his head and wickedly winks...I think maybe there's potential. Now if only Jessica can see it!

Excelente, Mads. Christmas on June 1 and New Year's on the horizon. Loved how you treated us all to everybody's individual Christmases. I'm happy for Jess, Oliverio, that's Oliverio, Xochi, Julio and Marta. I wanted to hug Ferny, but just for a second. Vero is going to get what she deserves. Val made out like a bandit...and on down the line.

Somehow, I think Jucho's and Alma's were not happy feet events. Jucho wants Alma for Christmas and Alma wants Jucho for Christmas, in order to (according to Pablo's love meter) convince herself that marrying Rogue will make her happy.

Did any one notice that Patymelt was wearing Chatita's Chal? She either borrowed, stole or bought a sidewalk knockoff to wear to sunny hot Patio-breakfast weather. Wait until she sees Chatita wearing hers!

I normally don't like talking dogs, although the one in the movie Beginners, the perceptive, yet silent Jack Russell terrier, was terrific.

Now we have a thought bubbling Sanson and I love him.

Patymelt--I can't wait for you to get Rogue's 'y qué, juárever' when he sees the copy of Jucho & Alma exercising.

Off Topic - y'all might not hear from me for a while. We're heading out of our current anchorage that has lots of beautiful Wi-Fi, to other places that are a bit more remote. I'll check in when I can. Adios!

Smooth sailing Sylvia!

Gosh. We'll miss you Sylvia. It's been great to have you around these last few weeks. But I echo Vivi...smooth sailing and many great adventures to come...

Mads- Another great recap from you. Gracias.

Wow! Both Discua and Elias could win the grand prize for stubborness. Well, at least Elias is working and out of bed these days. That's better than nothing, I guess.

Will Chucho paint butterflies and rainbows on his walls too, like he did in Val's yellow bedroom? :) He's hardly in his squatter's apartment, so I don't know why he's bothering to paint it. Isn't the bank going to kick him out any day now?

Speaking of things I don't understand...why are Alma, Chucho, and now Pati so freaked out about/sure that the photo of Alma and Chucho doing yoga, which he saw with his own eyes when it happened, is going to bug Rogue?

We learned what Vero used to do when she used to work when she and Chucho were together-- she was a model. I'm sure they can find a job for her at Avon. After all, what are Jessica, Discua, and Yvonne, except walking, breathing blow up sex dolls? No actual secretarial experience needed.

Great re-cap Madelaine....

JudyB.... Jessy and Cardenas kids may turn out Tall, Bald, and Black....Moma Cardenas may fall out of the wheel chair if that happens...lol

Anon#1

Well, Mama Cardenas knows exactly what Jessica looks like...and I'd say she'd be thrilled to have some grandchildren of any shade or hue.

Now we've just got to hope Jessica sees Cardenas as the "future father of her children"! We'll keep our fingers crossed for a happy ending.

Awww, poor Elias. What a Nochemala for him. On the plus side, he overheard Juicy trying to sell Vero on sticking with him, but then he had to hear that she has never loved him. Ouch. I did enjoy all his reactions while he was eavesdropping.

Maybe Juicy used some of his new funds to pay the bank enough to keep them happy? Or else maybe Alma found out about the situation and secretly paid off the debt. More likely, the bank people are just enjoying the holidays and they'll get back to biz shortly.

I agree Marta needs a new eyebrow design. They're making her face look warped.

Thanks so much, Madelaine! You are always SO entertaining!

Thanks so much y'all for these great comments.

Pablo:

I laughed at your comment. Seems Juicy is a jack of all trades. He seems to have done a bit of everything and now detective. I wonder how he'll do???

I was surprised by Jess this episode. She didn't jiggle as much, except when she did that happy dance. She really seems to have bonded with Cardy's Mama.

Xochi was so alive this epi. No whining and screeching, I am liking this new more self confidant Xochi. I hope she keeps this up.

I am not liking this Maricela/Elias pairing. He is using her and she is so wrapped up in him, she won't notice what he is doing. But maybe now she will wake up and smell the Chanel and maybe give Ricardo a chance.

Rogue is starting to be riddled, er, consumed by his evil deeds. I love that nightmare he had though. Serves him right. He needs to straighten up, but then we really don't want him to, do we ; )

I agree with Pablo that Juicy makes Alma think she loves Rogue. Let's see if this wedding goes off and if it does and Alma and Rogue go on this honeymoon, will she THEN realize she doesn't love Rogue, hmmmm.....

Oh, and Cap'n

Fair winds and following Seas and hope to see you here soon, amiga ; )

Oh dangit, I missed Sylvia! :(

Thank you for this, Madelaine. I'm all caught up now but a little overwhelmed by the vast amount of stupidity I'm seeing.

I totally agree about Marta's eyebrows. I remember thinking (and lots of people commenting) that Silvia Navarro's eyebrows were too severe when MEPS started, but either they got better after a while or we got used to them. Marta's, however, are much too pointy. She already has a widow's peak and with the eyebrows it's like her whole forehead is full of triangles.

I think the reason Rogue would be unhappy to see that photo NOW is because it means Alma's been keeping it all this time. He'll want to know why!

JudyB: I'm creeped out by Cardy's mom, too.

Best moment (for me): Pato's reaction when she saw the pic. She is a hoot. Second: Sanson's thought bubbles.

Cardy's mom did seem to attach herself to Jess very quickly, but I couldn't decide why. Is there something actually creepy about her? Is she just excited that her son finally has a date who isn't televised? Maybe being in a wheelchair makes it hard for her to get out and about as much as most people do, so she was just thrilled to have someone new to talk to?

Nanette...thought of you today when I was checking vegan recipes by Carol Fitzgerald. She has a nice webpage. Check it out if you haven't already. The burrito recipe looks good!

JudyB: Thanks for the heads up. I'll definitely check CF out. Except for finishing up food I had in the apartment and my chai latte mixes, I'm completely vegan now. Going to order a vegan chai latte mix this month to try.

Is anyone watching QBA? Has Alejandro Ruiz shown up yet?

Loving PEAM more and more, no cringe worthy moments lately.

My impression of Cardy's mom is that she's a lot like her son, or Xochi for that matter. She is affectionate by nature, but very lonely. If, as we suspect, she doesn't get out much, then she has even less opportunity to interact with others than Cardy does, which means even more pent-up affection waiting to be unleashed on a willing recipient.

So Jess comes along and, yeah, she is a date who isn't televised, as Julia said. So I can see how Mom's enthusiasm might make some people uncomfortable. (I don't think I'd like it, either.) But she doesn't seem "creepy" like she's planning to bake Jess into a pie or anything like that.

Madelaine already pointed out that Jess didn't jiggle as much as usual when she was at Cardy's house. I think she is as lonely as they are, and appreciated a chance to be herself instead of having to relentlessly peddle her sex appeal and gossip. (Of course, I could be totally wrong, and maybe she's still working Cardy. But I don't think she is.)

Nanette, please report out on the chai latte research. I just went non-dairy, and I LOVE chai.

Speaking of eyebrows, that was the one thing that always weirded me out about Eva -- she would have perfectly plucked eyebrows, and then Juan Carlos would pop up looking like a regular guy. Was he gluing them on or what?

-- Blue Lass, between gmail addresses

He was gluing them on. We even saw him peel them off a couple of times.

Querida Mads, What a wonderful way to catch up on Friday's episode. I haven't had time to read up on the previous week but I thought I needed to know what happened last in order to do my recap in about 20 minutes! Gee, nothing much moved during my absence.

My week of meditating and vigorous hiking in the Tusas Mtns in northern New Mexico was divine intervention!! Totally off grid is a good healing event at least once a year. See you all in a few...CNMex

P.S. I really liked your update on each character too. Such good writing both deeply descriptive and full of holiday mirth so to speak. holiday snark at least. Well done.
