Caray, Caray!

Lo Siento, it took me so long y'all. Have family here this weekend and tried to get done last night, but no such luck. I haven't edited so please ignore the mistakes, will do that later this evening. Please enjoy the recap : )
 

No need to apologize Miss Madelaine, your recap is perfect! Nice and concise with some funny side notes! I especially loved the description and fawning over big Angel in the shower lol yowsa ! I've said it before and I'll say it again, I'm always impressed by the fine work you recappers do even with jobs and life in general in the way, thank you.

I kind of tuned out of this episode, it was a little boring. Only caught one shot of Vikki which was kind of weird, I don't really understand what the writers are trying to accomplish by keeping the main heroine away? Is she going to come back with a new resolve to fight for Angel? Maybe she'll move out of the Balvanera mansion to get away from gramps and princess lili. That mansion seems to be getting a bit crowded anyway.

Didn't feel sad for Nikki at all. Was she sad because no one cares enough for her dad to stay at the hospital with her or was she feeling more sorry for herself being alone at the hospital? Boo hoo, I think it was the latter for the selfish poor little rich girl. Can't stand watching her and Frankie all lovey dovey, blegh!

Could Adri be more naive?! If Aniballs already paid off nurse Abigail to disappear, why would she be asking for more money to give Adri the info she so desperately wants? Ok so may be she spent it all, but really Adri? I would think she was smarter than that. Then again now that Kendho has the Lili=Lucia info may be Adri will know the truth about her daughter, I would certainly hope so. Oooh maybe Aniballs and FF will end up being cell mates!!!

Poor Kendra… she doesn't want to be married to someone with a wooden leg. She's probably worried he'll wear a black eye patch and walk around saying, "Aaarrrrrrggghhhhh, mateys!"

Did Nelson tell Dr. Hottie that he looks vaguely familiar to him? Surely Dr. H would remember Nelson's name.

Could you all hear me yelling "Oh Noes!" when FF was telling Kendra about Lili? Oh good grief, Kendra with that information is a real disaster waiting to happen. But maybae she already knows, since she set Adri up with the telegram and everything.

 

Does everybody at the Balvanera manse, bosses and employees, have the same type blood? Or did they donate blood in exchange for whatever amount was used for Nelson? They didn't do the typical "no one has matching blood but your worst enemy (Arriaga?) and now you owe him your life bit."

Looks like G/Hilda is about to let those loose lips at it again ... this time about Paula's illness.

Those Vikki scenes were probably filmed way ahead of time just in case the actress was unavailable for whatever period of time. The director probably said, just look pensive, or thoughtful, or juarever - we'll fill in with background music or flashbacks or both as necessary.

Oh, NO! Bruna wants Guzman! Another girl fight looming?

Kendra didn't know Lili was Adriana's she just knew that Adri has been looking for her daughter, so she made some mis planes with Espanto to get some money, since the FF hasn't been too forthcoming with the dinero lately. But now I'm worried for Lili.

 

Madelaine: Thank you so much for writing this fantastic summary despite having family visiting! Appreciate your dedication and hard work amidst your busy schedule. Lily noted it perfectly "the fine work you recappers do even with jobs and life in general..." How selfless you all are...

Madelaine, I have to admit I felt sorry for Nikki at the hospital. Was there a tinge of self pity? Yes, undoubtedly. However, if I had been alone with my father in critical condition, I would have been hurting for him but also, perhaps for myself. You are right in assessing Nikki's sometimes stunted but obvious strides in her maturity: "I have to give her kudos though, cause if this had happened a couple months before she would have been talking to the procelin throne!" You are absolutely right.

I share your appreciation of JA's soapy shower scene. Oh my...My hub was kind of smiling as I began my fawning comments but think he got a little tired of the unending stream of admiring adjectives and decided to quietly leave the room (which I didn't notice until later)only kidding ;)

Now that Nelson has been dishonorably demoted at MI, perhaps Kendra will try to get back at Anibal and plan a hasty, ill conceived scheme. She has to make a mistake at some point - has to be caught somehow...

Come back Vicki! Your daughter needs you as does JA...Starting at the picturesque waterfall is doing nothing to move this story forward!!

How long will the writers drag out Adri and Vincente not meeting? So few episodes left not to mention the number of crimes to be discovered, secrets to be revealed and hopefully happy endings to get on with. All in what, 14 or so more epis??

As work is so busy, I finally broke down and got wireless at home so I could bring my work laptop home on weekends when needed.

Great job Mads, even with houseguests and distractions!

Nelson told Vicente that his name sounded familiar (he's heard it often enough). The two men likely never met. When Adri fell in love with, and got pregnant by, Vicente, Vicky, Nelson and little Nikki were in Europe while Vicky completed her Master’s degree. And being that they were two teens in love, Adri and Vince probably didn't spend a lot of time discussing her big sister's husband.

That was nice of all the Balvanera staff and Lili to rush to donate blood. Lord knows Nelson has never gone out of his way to be nice to any of them. I think Jarocha once mentioned that it's really hard to get people in Mexico to donate blood, and so when a blood bank has the opportunity to get lots of people in to donate (like in this case where family and acquaintances all rush to donate to one person), they take the opportunity to stock up their blood banks. Even if you aren't a match for the person you came to give to, they're going to take your blood anyway. I wonder which person/people ended up being a match for Nelson?

Very stupid move on Nelson's part to tell Kendra his one bit of trump card info. I worry for Lili too. Kendra hates having competition for Balvanera cash.

It was silly for Adri to blindly believe that the person who wrote the anonymous note really has the info she wants. But she was going on pure emotion. People of missing children/family do that all the time. That's why they recommend an expert on kidnapping work with the families. The reason why she was so sure it wasn't a scam is because so few people know she had a child. Really only the family and long-term house staff. Little does she know that Cris blabbed to Kendra long ago-- info she should have NEVER shared. I am very glad she at least went to JA and had him go there with her.

 

I was very happy to see Nikki finally do some writing that might do someone else some good. She may finally discover her calling with this blog. I think it’s good for her to deal with this alone, for once, and rely on her own inner strength. In any case, she’s not alone—she has Guzman, Adri and Tomi. But she usually gets to sit back and let Vicky take charge. Now she’s the one who has to take charge of the emotional care of her father. Very good.

I LOLd at Vicky in front of the Veracruz green screen. I guess they spent all the extra production money on sending Nikki and Guzman to Miami and NYC. No money left for a real trip to Veracruz for Vicky. I hope Erika B. took a few days off to go to a spa or something.

I too am growing impatient for Vicente and Adri to have their first face to face in almost 20 years. Carlos/Joan, who?

 

I can't get into Vincente like the rest of you. I've only ever seen him in one novela. Sortilegio. So ever time I see him, I think of Broke Back Mountain.

As for the surgery, what Vicente described was unlikely. He said that the saphenous vein was damaged and that he had to do a bypass to restore circulation to the leg. The saphenous vein is the large vein in the lower extremity and indeed carries a lot of blood but is not vital to the blood supply to the leg, therefore no need to perform a bypass. In fact the saphenous vein is frequently removed to use as a graft in heart bypass surgery. If only his saphenous vein was damaged by the bullet, Nelson is in no danger of losing his leg. He could have bled to death, however, so the tourniquet that Guzmán applied was life-saving.

Wouldn't it be a fun change of pace if no one ever even tells Adriana about Vicente and they never meet up again and she marries Joan?

Ya know,,, I had the same idea that maybe Adri and Dr. Hottie might never cross paths. Seems like there have been TV & movie segments like that.

I see the telegram storyline as a way to keep Adriana busy while everybody is at the hospital. The scene if Espanto getting away with the money dressed as a clown should have been put up at The Soup. I hope it was.

Those scenes with Vikki remind me of the old movies from the fifties where we were supposed to believe that the characters were traveling the world while the actors never left the studio. They have their own nostalgic appeal on their own.

I guess it's good for Nikki to have Victoria far away at the momennt because she now has to act like a responsable adult and be there for her father's needs. I can't remember Erika having any commitment of health issue off-screen so I guess her absence is story driven.

Vivi I can't remember saying that specifically about blood donation but I've said several things so I might have and it's true. Also, if you don't have the money of a private insurance you have to "pay" for your transfusion by bringing at least three donnors of the same bood type in exchange for the blood you receive. It is illegal to sell your blood in Mexico (or platelets or whatever they take) and people are expected to donate voluntarily, out of the good of their hearts, but there are not many campaigns for blood donation while there is too much disinformation on the subject: many people think donating blood will make them fat, sick, give them AIDS or even kill them.

Carlos thank you for the explanation on Nelson's condition. I resigned myself from the begining that Vicente would be a telenovela doctor so I just needed to suspend disbelief from anything medical that could come out of his mouth and enjoy the pretty.

Here's a scene between Rulli and Angelique Boyer in Teresa where he gets to display his anger and hurt to her after learning that she married him for his money. He was great in that novela, at the TVyNovela awards he lost the best actor category to Fernando Colunga but everybody agreed that he deserved the win and the people kept shouting "Rulli, Rulli" after the announcement.

He is going to play with Boyer again in his next novela. It will be a new version of Bodas de Odio set in our times. Some people are up in arms about it because the last version "Amor Real" was a huge success and a classic but I'm really numb to that because I hated Amor Real, although I do fear incongruencies do to the translation of the story to our times.

Absolutely the best line in the whole recap: "His leg is very important to him.

I also think the reason Dr. Guayapo didn't recognize Nelson as part of the Balvaneras is that he was probably registered as a Brizz and though Nikki is a Balvanera Brizz, probably didn't even ask for her last names. He would only have known Adri and Vikki as Balvaneras and neither of them were present. I'm sure that when it happens, he and Adri will recognize each other.

And shame on you Carlos, for trying to dash our illusions of that flicker of recognition...the slo-mo race through the sunny wild-flower strewn fields toward each other; he in a tight white t-shirt (clean shaven), and crisp tight jeans and sandals while she is barefoot in a long flowery summer print dress with a gossamer scarf flowing behind her, her dark locks falling below her shoulders and a dreamy look on her face while his shows the 20-years of longing etched in every crag of his face.

Ok, then someone stops the video and Adri finds out he's married and has 4 kids.

Although 3 donnors per patient is the standard, if you require more blood they will ask for more donnors. There was a kid last year with hemophilia who couldn't be let out of the hospital because he was given so much blood that his family needed to provide 140 donnors to be allowed to go. It was a good thing he was O+ because 65% of the population in Mexico City has that blood type and the hospital had enough blood for him and his parents could eventually find the donnors asking help through the media. The hospital mentioned that had he been of any other bloodtype they wouldn't have been able to provide for him.

Jarocha--Thanks for clueing us in on blood donations in today's climate.

We've always found it so funny in tns that the person needing blood always has a super-rare type which isn't in the hospital blood bank and is not available anywhere in the area. Only someone who is related and doesn't know it gets to donate blood. The only exception I can think of recently was Sortilegio where Bruno was the only possible donor and in no way related to Maria Jose.

What I would like to know is do they still deliver paper telegrams around DF? Here in the States that ended decades ago and, until the ubiquitous availability of cell phones and international calling, were "delivered" by Western Union by phone.

Poor Adri, she's just not thinking. Meanwhile, with the new info, KendHo will be after more money. I wonder if she will blackmail Anyballs. If so, she has no idea who she is dealing with. It will probably be easier to go after more from Adri.

I think Erika B. just needed a couple of days off and this fits the storyline. We know they aren't going to break up the couple this close to the end of the tn. You have to hand it to her, she's been a key character practically every night--and we look forward to seeing her, too.
 

Anita: Yes, there are still paper telegrams in DF. I think most people don't use them but they are still there and you can even send paper telegrams through the internet if you don't have a telegraph close.

The use of rare bloodtypes in telenovelas is a cliché but the situations they present are not uncommon. I'm A+ and apparently that's rare in Veracruz, when I started college my class was asked to have a physical exam and they checked our bloodtypes and called us to give us our results. From 115 students only 5 were A+, 2 were B+ and one was O-, the rest were all O+. Afterwards all of us with "rare" bloodtypes (everybody not O+) were asked to go to a presentation at the med school auditorium about the importance of donating blood. Even with people from several faculties we didn't even fill half of the seats.

My mother had a sore on her foot that would not heal due to poor circulation . The doctor wanted to do bypass surgery on her leg. She refused until he told her that without the surgery , she would lose her leg. That did it. She had the surgery, and she lived to be 90

Cyn....re Marcelo Cordoba. You must try to see him in Alborada and Pasion. Lett's put it this way.....no capris when he's around....enough said.

Finally, let's see who was at the hospital for Furry...his wife!s lover, his daughter's lover, his lover, the servants, his sister-in-law, his ex body guard, and his daughter. ...not bad for a guy who only thinks about himself, but let me quote The Beatles..."And in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make." Just a warning , Furry, you are not sending out a lot of love. Also, I am reminded of that old saying, "Only the good die young". however, the bad seem to lose body parts. Remember that dreadful guy in Pasion who lost an eye, then a leg, and finally his head.

I agree that Cris shouldn't have talked about Adriana's child to Kendho, who's basically a stranger. She had a big mouth, but she didn't mean any harm, and did she even know it was such a huge family secret? After all, Adriana kept walking around in Mexico City with two big stones in her purse, wailing about her lost daughter all the time.

Erika's fans on twitter asked her about her absence, but naturally she had to keep silent about it.

But I remember that in the last 1 year she never, ever stopped tweeting. So wherever she was during this break, and whatever she was doing, she had enough time to spend on the internet. :)

I like Rullí, but I've never been a huge fan of his acting, however, he should've won for Teresa. He did a very good job in that show. Colunga deserved all the awards he got for Amor real and Alborada, but in my opinion in 2011 he shouldn't have won over Rullí and René Strickler. I know Fernando's name means ratings (I remember Soy tu duena had mediocre ratings in Mexico, but it was a mind-blowingly huge international success), and ratings mean money, but I'm fed up with Televisa's favoritism.

I just hope next year Erika'll have a chance to win. I don't know much about her current competitors because I don't watch their shows. I guess the lady from La tempestad (Salvador Mejía) and Gloria Trevi from Libre para amarte (Emilio Larrosa) have zero chances because their shows are bombing. But we still have Mayrín Villanueva in Mentir para vivir (Rosy Ocampo), Livia Brito in De que te quiero, te quiero (Lucero Suárez) and Blanca Soto in PEAM (Juan Osorio). Oh, and don't forget Ana Brenda, who's having a HUGE success with Corazón indominable (Nathalie Lartilleux - I hope I spelled her name correctly). Its ratings in Mexico look amazing nowadays: CI beats all the primetime shows. It even beated the penultimate episode of PEAM.

But 1. Erika did a very good job in AV, and 2. will she ever have the chance to win the best actress award again?

Is it sure that Sebastián and Anguelique are going to play the protagonists of the new Nesma telenovella? I haven't seen any official announcements yet, only the customary casting rumors about the current prom queens and kings of Telenovelaland. And wouldn't it be too soon for Rullí? He just finished AV.
 

Is Kendra's newborn STILL in the hospital? At what point do concepts like "parental abandonment" and "parental negligence" become operative? Have the parents visited the baby since she was first-born?

Also, any guesses as to what happens to the baby should the parents bite the dust before "el fin?"

I started watching this novela pretty late and have had a hard time making sense of the storyline....so especially appreciate all the recappers.

Yes, they did - it seems Nelson is genuinely concerned about Mia, and he visits her regularly. Kendra doesn't care about the baby at all, but she knows she's her meal ticket, so she tries to act like she was a good mother.

In the Thursday episode she was complaining about that her leg hurt after having to spend all day in the hospital with Nelson looking at their baby.

We don't know anything about The Furminator's or Kendho's family, so IF anything happens to them, Mia is at the mercy of the Balvaneras. Nikki, Guzmi, Vicky, Arriaga, or even Salsero and Betty could take care of her.
 

Now that only 13 episodes are back, I can spill some beans about the previous versions. They aren't spoilers because none of these things will happen here due to the shortness of time and the changed storylines. They are just fun facts.

However, if you ever want to watch the Argentinian, Colombian or Aztecan Amor en custodia, you'd better don't read this post.

1. Jarocha already told you that in the original shows Liliana lost her virginity to Frankie. (I think they got married, then they broke up, and Frankie reunited with Nikki.) To my knowledge in the original Argentinian telenovela they even had a baby together.

2. Nikki slept with Salsero, she got pregnant, but she lost the baby.

3. In the Argentinian version Kendra wasn't the ultimate villain. After her baby was born, she mellowed out. Salsero never stopped loving her, even though he did date Betty for a while.

4. There was another female villain, who lived with Arriaga for a while. She even framed him with murder. (But only the Aztecan and the Argentinian versions had this storyline, because the Colombian Arriaga was like our José Ángel: he only loved two women, his wife and Victoria.)

5. Victoria had a twin sister. No, I'm not joking. It turned out their mother was quite fed up with Aníbal's womanizing ways, and she had an affair with a country guy. She gave birth to twins, and she left one of them in the countryside (yes, this means Victoria wasn't the daughter of Aníbal, and she wasn't Cristina's sister).

6. Victoria had cancer, but she tried to hide it from Arriaga. Then something happened to her, she was kidnapped or something like that... anyway, she and her twin sister ended up switching places. While this situation sounds extremely ridiculous and clichéd, my friends loved it because it offered tons of comic relief moments, because Victoria and "Peasant Victoria" couldn't have been more different. While the refined, elegant lady was trying to learn how to milk a cow on the countryside, her twin sister was acting like an elephant in the china shop at the Balvanera household. And her paintings were more horrible than Victoria's.

7. In the Colombian version it turned out their mother never died, and she returned.

8. Nelson fell in love with "Peasant Victoria".

I'd bet my hair in Ana Brenda winning best actress next year. CI has had incredible success and she's been nominated two years in a row for two successful telenovelas already, the third one will be the charm, especially since this time she carries the story this time (LQNPA was more Jorge Salinas's show). I do think Erika is the black horse here, she has the ratings and the career to support her and if AB spends too much time in Spain with her husband and another successful novela comes along to fill CI her buzz will go down.

I also think Colunga will win best actor, again, even though I'm not fond of him in PQEAM. But, I do think EY has more of a chance at an upset here.

And several news are reporting that Angelli Nesma revealed in Hoy Boyer, Rulli and Luis Roberto Guzmán (I like him but that's an odd choice) will play the main characters. However, I did not watch the show. They also claim Osvaldo Benavides and César Évora will be in the novela.

Some of those developments are news to me too WHOA! This telenovela got crazy in those versions and I thought the Azteca one was the guilty one for that crazyness but I see it came from the original lol.

I don't think Nikki sleeps with Salsero in the Azteca one but she pretends to, to hurt Francisco after he married Liliana.

But she does get a boyfriend later, played by the Francisco of the Argentinian version. She kind of falls for him for a while and they have a pregnancy scare at one point.

I have Vikki's cancer storyline all muddled in my head but I don't think she hides it from Arriaga in the Azteca version because I remember her telling Nikki and Liliana about it.

Thanks for the information!

I find these casting news odd. Could Angelique and Sebastián avoid playing "Teresa & Arturo 2"? (Let me explain that: the protagonist of Bodas the odio/Amor real and Teresa have very different personalities, but the big emotional scenes and the dynamics between Teresa-Arturo/Matilde-Manuel look very similar to me.)

I only saw the best scenes and episodes from the Colombian AEC, watched a few videos on youtube and read the episode summaries of the other two shows. So I'm far from an expert: my AEC-addict friends watched every single version, and I may have misinterpreted some of their statements. But I know they were crazy about the twins storyline, and they wanted to see Erika playing two roles at the same time so much. :)

Yes, Bruna offers Frankie her hand to be kissed and all she gets is a limp handshake. What a funny bit of business! So glad you included it in your recap.

For me it was Kendra who stole the show on Friday:

She swears to Nelson Brizz that his losing a leg won't affect her feelings for him since she loves him for his intelligence and his personality.
[Which would be hilarious even if we hadn't heard her thought-bubble a moment before:
"Just what I needed -- contending with a moron with a wooden leg!"]

Then when she hears that Nelson is broke, she decides to KEEP PLAYING because now she can try to put the squeeze on Aníbal. And then Nelson rewards her choice by entrusting her with the secret about Adriana's daughter.

It's too bad she wasn't listening more closely when he said that he thought it was his life insurance but now realizes it is his death warrant.
 

I usually don't mind super complex plots (CME, AB), but I'm glad the writers/producers of AV decided to apply the KISS rule (keep it simple, stupid). The only thing I wouldn't have minded are more complex villains. But Kendra and her vapidness and lack of logical thinking (Nelson as the means for getting all the BV money?), has grown on me.

There's an app for that, er, I mean there are some pretty good over the counter creams for that. :D
 

LOL! Now, I don't mean to say I like her, but I used to think she was a pretty lame villainess. She won't go on my list of all time best villains, but I do have a certain amount of respect for her level of evil. Plus, she always looks amazing.
 

Oh definitely, she always looks amazing. But what I like is that her cockamamie plots are always based on false premises.

She does need to work on her evil voice though. Meh. Maybe that will come with age.

I have to make a comment here about the twins storyline in the Colombian version. To me, the funniest scene in the entire novella was when Arriaga started to suspect that the peasant twin was not the real Victoria after he sneaks a peak of one her paintings and it's the equivalent of a stick drawing a 2 year old would do. That scene was crazy but it was the moment when all of Teresa's lies came to light and it needed to be super explosive because we were waiting for it during a slow burn for more than 100 episodes. Aarón Díaz played Teresa's other love interest, the first love she left to marry Rulli's character for his money, although eventually she falls in love with him but her ambition always seemed to be greater.

I have the later part of the Azteca Amor en Custodia all muddled to be honest. When the crazy started I began to tune out, so I can't remember much about Vikki's cancer although I do remember that hottie character, Mauro Mendoza because he was very popular. The audience even got a little divided between Team Mendoza and Team Pacheco/Guzmán for a while.

Thanks for what a I missed about FF's intelligence and the wooden leg,lol. I guess Kendho hasn't heard the latest about prosthesis. They are now titanium and people can even run with them.

The only think Kendho knew about Lili was she was a Balvanera, not that she was Adri's daughter Lucia. Now she knows that last tidbit of info, thanks to FF's loose lips, and as FF said himself, thanks NovelaMaven, this info could be his death warrant instead of his life insurance. I'm glad Kendho didn't hear that, but then again, I bet she'll use this info for her own personal gain. The cogs in her brain look like they were working overtime. I also fear for Lili and poor little Mia.

Those edits of Ms Vikki's were weird. They just seemed so out of place. But at least we know now where she went off to. I hope she comes back soon.

I too wonder why Adri didn't do some soul searching instead of just going along with that telegram. She should have let Salsa Dude check it out as Angel suggested, but then again, we wouldn't have this drama, now would we ; )

I also felt for Nikki this epi. I'm glad everyone came and donated blood, thanks Jarocha for the info about blood donation in Mexico. But I do have to hand it to Nikki, she is stronger than she knows. I like that she isn't just crying and eating and hurling again. The blog will help her to cope I think during this crisis, and Frankie's love of course. I'm also glad there was no fighting with Lili and Nikki too. I wish the girls would bury the hatchet.

Espanto is the most efficient henchie isn't he? With his many "jobs" he is a henchie of all trades isn't he?

I also liked the part where Nikki actually had a kind of bonding moment with Snappy Pappy, who turned right around and became Snappy again. I am also glad he turned his face away when Nikki mentioned the blacklisting and Frankie being able to get a job anyway.

I can't wait for tonight to see what Anyballs has to say to FF or what he'll do to the FF, pillow maybe?

So Vincente is a cardiac specialist? That is interesting. I thought he was a surgeon as in general, lol. I am so glad Vincente is on the scene now ; )

Nikki had too much on her plate to worry about Lili so she was pretty much ignoring her presence. But Lili was looking plenty grumpy and glaring at José Ángel whenever he was in the waiting room.

In fact, it was because of Lili's grumpiness that Adriana and Vicente missed each other this time around. Arriaga came into the room, Lili gave him one of her mean enana glares, and then turned to Adriana and said: "I think I'll go to the chapel." And Adri decided to go with her.

A moment later, Vicente showed up in his (BLOODY!!!) gown looking for the family of Nelson Brizz.

BTW, I think Vicente is a vascular surgeon.

around here, most vascular surgeons are heart surgeons and vice versa. Nevertheless, it's unlikely that a surgeon would need to do any type of bypass on the saphenous vein.

On Nikki and Lili. Except that they both love (I use that slightly lightly) their parents and the parents will suffer if they can't get along, they don't really need to bury the hatchet and become besties. They can both acknowledge each other's lives and career paths and be pleasant (or feign camaraderie) at family gatherings on Thanksgiving, Dia de los Muertos, Christmas, Pascuas and Birthdays.

Arriaga and Vikki have their own lives to lead and something tells me that Vikk won't be at MetaImagine much longer (she has that hijo that Opalina has predicted coming sometime).

With FF demoted, Anyballs going to get hit with the Big One, that leaves Nikki? or Adriana? or Kendra? in charge.....please say it isn't so.

Hmmmm. Maybe Betty and Salsero can take over? Gilda? Opalina? The possibilities and endless.

Wait--Candelaria said she was going to keep working after she and Anyone get married, so Cande?

Wait--there's Lili, who now has an MBA in experience. She and Roy would make better candidates. I can see the MetaI offices blooming with indoor landscaping. (I hear it's very profitable in big office parks.)

In my family there are two cousins who can't stand each other (well, there are more, but these two are the worst) because one tried to take the other one's boyfriend (now husband). When that happened, there was a great brouhaha in the family and the "taker" was treated like a pariah with no one talking to her or inviting her to family gatherings, etc. She moved away. Ten years have passed and she returned to town. The family speaks to her when necessary and she is now included in family things, but if both happen to show up, they stay away from each other or if it's close quarters, one or the other will leave. No one mentions anything about their issues, not even them - it's just understood that the subject is taboo and it's so ingrained now in everybody that the situation isn't even uncomfortable any more - it just IS.
 

Mia does NOT belong in the boardroom. The daughter of Nelson and Kendra would have no right in the business unless she was adopted by one of the Balvaneras/Arriagas/Guzmans etc. (Unless they need someone to handle the dirty deals).
 

My computer had been on the fritz for 2 weeks but is up finally. I must admit, I missed the recaps and comments even more than my email. Well, it's a lot of spam anyway. But really, how I missed the snark. Thank you, Madelaine, for a fun recap and a nice quotient of snark.

!. I want to throttle Liliana and the writers responsible for her present storyline.

4. The green screen with Ms. Vikki from above her calves was hilarious. The writers should have sent her to a local spa for a stay. At least it would have looked realistic.

5. Anyballs is a megalomaniac who thinks he is God in a white suits with blue sunglasses. And also mentioned before, he is a SUPER control freak.

6. Marcelo..YAY. In such good company with EY, Rulli and even Yawn.

7. Save Salsero. No sacrificing himself for redemption.

No, the attempted "taker" didn't succeed. The cousin who originally had the bf (the good girl) kept him, married him and they are living happily with their little boy. The guy was never into the second girl, he remained faithful to his girlfriend and didn't even know they were cousins until later. He never caved, but she really went to extremes to try to land him! The taker (bad girl) who moved away came back home with a child of her own but the baby daddy left them when the baby was around two. She's had a couple of broken relationships since then and is still single. Karma?
