Amores Verdaderos #167 Thu 7/4/13 The Episode of Many Cameos

or Another long night in the hospital.
or Where the hell is Victoria?
or Please don’t hurt my Neltroll.
or Helllllllllooooooooooooooooooooooo, Marcelo Córdoba! Cameo:

“A cameo role or cameo appearance; often shortened to just cameo) is a brief appearance or voice part of a known person in a work of the performing arts, typically unnamed or appearing as themselves.”

* Lo refrito: while Nikki is sobbing in the corner, Guzmáncito is packing her suitcases. Although it hurts him, he had to realize that sometimes love isn’t enough.

* Lo nuevo: Aníbal offers his “help” to Nelson. He can keep his position in the company in exchange for divorcing from Victoria. Tomorrow they’re going to a lawyer, captas? But the Furminator has one more bomb to drop: tonight he’s going to tell Adriana that Lili is her daughter. Uhh-ohh.
* Neta begs Guzmán not to send her away. She can’t lose him, please, be a little bit more patient with her. Frankie grumpily tells her that she should stop caring about what happens in the Balvanera mansion or what Liliana does. She should understand that now her place is there, in that little flat. Without you I’ll die, says Neta. Oh, Nikita mía, sighs Frankie, and he can’t resist her anymore. *Viewerville: congrats, Nikki, that was quick*

* Filler scene, but it’s a lovely one: Nelson needs Gilda/Hilda/Whatevs in his office, but she has a lot of paperwork to do for Aníbal, so Beatriz helps her out. Dances, who just brought her some coffee, praises her for being such a great friend to Hilda. He’s totally in love with her. I mean, with Betty. Not with Hilda. Or Gilda. * In his office Aníbal calls someone on his cellphone, and in the meantime he thinks out loud: the stupid Brizz will learn that it’s Aníbal who lays down the law of this game.

* Adri brought a delicious lunch to Carlos, and now they talk about Vicky and Arriaga. He tells her he waited way too long to reunite with Victoria, and now he has to accept that Arriaga won fair and square. Yep, that’s a great idea, talking about the huge amor of your life to your current lover. Anyway, he loves the lunch she made, they flirt a lot, and they are about to kiss when Orangina interrupts them. Great. She starts to mark her territory by caressing Jhoaaaannnn. Adriana isn’t interested in her little games, so she decides to leave, but before that she advices Carlos to hire a bodyguard to protect himself from Aníbal’s wrath. (Bruna from the background: hey darling, there’s at least one thing we can agree on!) Actually, she knows a great bodyguard who’s unemployed right now.

 * At a street shoe-cleaner José Ángel reads a newspaper and he learns that the Spanish singer Malú is in Mexico City. (Fun fact: Ahora tú from Malú is the song of Vicky and Arriaga.)

* Frankie orders Nikki to return the cars she bought to the shop. All right, sighs Neta. And then they’ll go and give all the money back to her grandfather. Guzmán’s cell phone rings, it’s Adriana with the good news. Of course he’s interested in a job!

* Another filler scene: Tatito and Cande are talking about their upcoming wedding on phone. Aníbal has some business to tend to in Los Angeles, but as soon as he returns they’ll marry. Now it’s Candelaria who lays down the law, and she tells Aníbal that she won’t live in the Balvanera mansion and she’ll continue working. Tatito will do whatever she wants.

* The Angel rushes to the music store to get an autograph from Malú. However, inside the store there are approximately two hundred fans (okay, only twenty because extras are expensive) who want the same from the lady. But when the excited crowd gets out of control, even her seasoned bodyguards can’t protect Malú from the attack of the adoring fans. But fortunately Supersuperman’s here to save the day and the damsel in distress, so he picks her up and carries her out of the room.

* Carlos hires Guzmán, yeah!

* The big guy and his big smile charm Malú in a heartbeat. She thought he was a security guy working for the company, and that’s why he helped her, and now she’s pleasantly surprised that Arriaga is a fan of hers. She signs a copy of her CD, writing that the woman he loves must be an exceptional lady. Oh noes, Malú, you shouldn’t have written that, because now you’ll have to listen to his gushing about Ms. Vicky, their love, her stupid family, and what her song meant to them. (I hope he won’t mention that every time they have sex they listen to her song.) I guess the other fans in the background must’ve been tranquilized by the security, because they don’t complain that the big guy just can’t stop talking to Malú. By the way, I love Malú’s accent. She advices him to fight for Ms. Vicky, and she promises to help him, she even gives him her phone number.

* Neta tells Frankie she gave the cars back. He’s proud at her. He tells her he got the job. She’s VERY proud at him. Now let’s go and give the money back to the grandpa of Rupiana.

* A stage producer friend of Adriana invite her to the rehearsal of his upcoming musical (it’s called “Mentiras” with Angélica Vale), and she takes Liliana with herself. Lili hasn’t seen a musical yet, so she especially loves the show.

* Two insidious men arrive at Meta Imagen and they set up half a dozen barrels that block Nelson’s way out of the building. As usual, he starts yelling at the peasants, but this times the peasants shoot back. Literally. They tell the struggling man this was a warning and next time they’ll shoot him in the mouth. He asks for help, but nobody hears him. But fortunately Guzmi and Nikki got off the bus (and Nikki still can’t understand these vehicles… they can stop in the middle of the street, but they can’t in the corner? and Frankie is like “whatever”) and they find the Furminator. Neta cries, Frankie calls the emergency.

* Bruna wants to cheer Carlos up. With what? With a striptease. And he likes it. But he can’t do it because he’s confused and he doesn’t want to hurt her. Orangina thinks his confusion has a name: Adriana Balvanera, and then she leaves in a huff.

* At the hospital Nikki’s crying on Guzmáncito’s shoulders: her dad can’t die, he can’t!

* Kendho complains to her henchman (who’s carrying a big black trash back on the street) that she spent all day looking at her weakling little kid in the hospital, her legs hurt and she’s fed up with the whole situation. But she’ll make Nelson pay for everything, especially for doubting the paternity of Mia.

* Dances visits Angel to tell him that Nelson was shot.

* Frankie tells Nikki that Nelson will have to be operated, and he’ll need type A negative blood. Naturally the blood bank doesn’t have enough blood, so Neta wants to donate her own, but she can’t because of her weight and her sickness.

* After the show Lili and Adri have dinner, where Little Orchid asks Adriana about the father of her child. Oh, they were so young and they had such a sweet, innocent love. Her love for Vicente Celorio was definitely unforgettable.

* Aaaaaaand now we’re at the hospital, where we see a dashingly handsome doctor, who looks worried at Nelson’s x-ray photo. We need to operate him urgently, says the hottie. But wait, there’s a name sewn on his coat… and it says Vicente. *Whoa, Adriana.*

 * At the hospital chapel Nikki practices her praying skills. She loves Nelson, and her baby sister needs a father, so please, Virgencita, please save his life.

 * Arriaga, Salsero and the whole Balvanera household arrive at the hospital. Kendra, who learnt about the accident of her cash cow from the news, also rushes to the hospital, where Neta sends her to hell. She doesn’t care about her feelings, because snakes don’t have feelings. But Kendra isn’t going anywhere, instead she also donates blood… only to shut Nikki’s mouth up. I guess she’ll try to make Nelson pay for every drop of her blood. Don’t die, Nelson Brizz, says the witch, she wants to enjoy the Balvanera fortune for a while.

* Everyone speaks with everyone, it turns out nobody can reach Vicky on her phone. Arriaga is very happy that Liliana also came to support Nikki, but it turns out Lili only came to give blood, and she doesn’t want Neta to know about it.

* The Supersuper Bodyguards put two and two together: Frankie saw those barrels that blocked Nelson’s way… did they want to kidnap him? No, says Salsero, it must’ve been a warning. But from whom, asks Arriaga. Dances remembers back to the bad guys he met last day, but he keeps the information for himself.

* Kendho asks Salsero if he knows who shot Nelson. No, he doesn’t but she should keep in mind that if the Furminator dies, she’ll have to return to her former job. But there’s one thing he doesn’t know about: she’s already preparing to kidnap Victoria’s sister.

Can hardly wait to read your most marvelous recap of this epi. Yeah, Vincente has arrived! The hawt, hawt Marcelo Cordoba. And he's a surgeon! I thought he would be a gardener, or landscape artiste like Lili. Hmmmm..... can't wait to find out how he became a doctor!

Ooooooohhh, Doctor Hottie. ~sighs~ He stayed under Anibal's radar and has done quite well in life. It will be nice to see this unfold.

How appropriate for Anibal to be in USA so he cannot control the hospital situation!!! This is going to be good!

Oh Aribeth. Your screen shots were wonderful. It was fun trying to spot the guest artists and of course, Marcelo was a delightful, soothing balm sure to be applied liberally to our sore eyes, aching to see Vincente appear.

Madelaine, you took the thought right out of my head. I was thinking Vincente might be a working man, but his lab coat boldly emblazoned with "Vincente" loudly heralded his arrival. I like that we saw glimpses but those brief sightings set my "sigh" meter into overdrive. doris coined it perfectly - "Doctor Hottie" indeed.

I hoped the last scene would be he and Adri exchanging longing, loving glances but looks like a blackmail scheme is in the works tonight. ;)

Teresita, maybe we will get lucky and have an Anibal free episode tonight!

As you noted Aribeth, where is Victoria!? Does anyone know where she is? Not a good situation being out of cell phone reach.

Cannot wait to read this Aribeth!

Diana

Ay, Marcelo!

So Vicente has been in Mexico City all these years? Can't wait to find out his story.

Diana - I thought it odd, too, that Vikki was unavailable by cell. Perhaps the actress had something come up in her personal life during filming, or it could be a convenient plot device. After all, Nikki is learning how to deal with life without her SuperMami. The training wheels have to come off all bicycles, sooner or later.

YUMMY , mi telenovio Marcelo is here at last.....and he's a doctor. I've seen him play a bodyguard and a tialoving abuelokiller...but never a medical guy. i hope he rushes to Adri , and she kicks Asscot over to Bruna.

Hub and I saw "Man of Steel" yesterday with the super delicious Henry Cavill...Is he real ? ...that chiseled face..that bod of steel. Perhaps some of you saw him in The Tudors. Luckily, I was focused on the screen instead of the guy next to me (no..not Hub)..who was barefoot...munching popcorn and using his cellphone..reality can be so annoying.

I've loved Marcelo since I first saw him in Alborada. So glad Vincente (like Yawn) got on with his life and did very well for himself, in spite of Anyballs. Can't wait to see the old coot's face when he finds out his second nemesis is back.

Barbara

Maybe Ms Vikki really wanted to go away to think and so turned off her cell so no one, especially the Angel could call her, or maybe she went out of the country again.

OT: I have seen Marcelo Cordoba as a doctor before in Mar de Amor. He played a BSC doctor on that, a psychologist.

Squee! He's here! He has entered the building!

I was so excited that I did a screencap of him. You can see his name embroidered on his jacket:

Off to read the comments now, and looking forward to your recap, Aribeth! Squee!

Elvira- The screencap made me SO happy. :)

Elvira....sigh...many thanks for that most excellent screen cap of Marcelo . I am considering it a belated birthday present. I am starting to feel that he has become TBLMOE...next to mi honeybun...sorry Fernando...I am fickle. if they ever make a fleet of male robots (Stepford husbands ?????), Marcelo should definitely be the model for the prototype. what.a.studmuffin.

Seems like most of the comments this morning are about Marcelo Cordoba. Since I am a man, I'm not as interested in him. There has been though, a lot of talk lately about Nikki and whats her name--"Disney Brat"--"Ratiana." I've noticed that for the last two nights Nikki has been in a fight. Both were justified but still, two in a row, while Lili had 0. So for now the score is Nikki 2 Lili 0.
What's with that?

When Nelson FF pulls through his operation after being shot, does anyone think that he will play his trump card on Anibal? My guess is yes.

How did JA get special treatment at the Malu album signing? Were they old friends?

Lili and Adri had a good time at the theater but why were there so few people there, was it a pre- opening? What was the song that Lili cried to? I know that song but just couldn't place it.

Oh! LOL---They, Nikki and Guzman were carrying that money around all over the place last night. I wish I had that kind of money to carry around.

Gringo:
"I've noticed that for the last two nights Nikki has been in a fight. Both were justified but still, two in a row, while Lili had 0. So for now the score is Nikki 2 Lili 0.
What's with that?"

It means now you're officially the Patron Saint of the Corona-Arriaga Girls. :)

Yes, it was the rehearsal/pre-opening of the musical called Mentiras. Wikipedia says it's based on popular Mexican songs from the 80's. The protagonist is Angélica Vale (from La fea más bella).

Sorry Gringo about all the drooling about Marcelo. He and Cristian de la Fuente are my top telenovios. I have just spent the last half hour looking at photos of him online. :) He is definitely getting better with age. Here's a nice recent pic of him, looking very handsome:

And of course, shirtless: http://www.formulatv.com/fotos/a8ulf2viux8fvpi76e4ed015193c867/

Had to check out that screen cap again. I am liking the beard and mustache.....muy macho. Also,.great haircut. ..just saying.

...and he looks especially good in blue.

Thanks Elvira and Vivi...

The first time I saw Marcelo was in Pasion (still one of my top favs although I'm in the minority). He did an excellent job with the part - dignified and well, just handsome as all get out.

Carlos doesn't stand a chance. Bruna will offer him a shoulder to cry on (among other things) ;) - I have a feeling he will do just fine.

gringo, that suitcase of cash really made the rounds, didn't it? Good thing Nikki and Francisco didn't arrive at the shooting a few minutes earlier. Still, the bumbling henchies probably wouldn't even have noticed the glaringly obvious case and it valuable contents.

Also, I believe JA did not know Malu but swooped in and picked her up, bringing her to safety when the crowd at her signing got out of hand. She was appreciative and warm in her thanks.

Diana

Can't wait for the recap!!! I missed this episode cause out watching the fireworks. Hope everyone had a great 4th of July.

I'm with you Vivi about Cristian De la Fuente, AB was the 1st time I'd seen him in a TN and I fell in love, I had dreams about him! But while I agree Marcelo cordoba is very handsome I don't know if I can get over him as Pluti in Por ella soy Eva! That was the 1st time I've seen him in a TN and man did I hate him! How did you ladies feel about him playing a villain?

The other not-a-Nikki-fan Lily :)

Lily- I didn't mind him playing a villain (he's done it before), because the memory of his other roles has stuck with me. My favorite is Antolin in La Fuerza del Destino. He was neither evil, nor good. Well, he was a bad boy, who did many shady things, but he had a heart of gold and ended up being totally redeemed.

I obviously have a telenovio type, as both MC and CdlF make me drool. :)

Marcelo as Antolin in LFDD: http://us.fotolog.com/ana_de_jordison/80417674/

Thanks Aribeth
the gringo

Diana...Pasion is my third fav novela after Alborada and Amor Real. Gee, Marcelo played good guy servants in both of those...Coincidence?????...I think not.

Vivi, I lost interest in Fuerza despite handsome Marcelo and stopped watching before he stopped beingoilyband was reformed into a good guy.

Marcelo played a tialoving abuelokiller in a novela...the name alludes me. I definitely like my telenovios playing sweet, goodhearted Boy Scouts. Marcelo was great in Alborada as the loyal bodyguard to Don Luis (Fernando Colunga) who protected not only Don Luis but so many innocents and not-so-innocents (Perla, I am looking at YOU) in that novela.

Beingoilyband ?????...that was supposed to be "being bad"

I can never hate Marcelo Córdoba, he is just too hot.

Actually, the first time I remember seeing him he played a villain in Juro Que Te Amo. Yet, I liked him better than the lead played by José Ron. That novela always found ways to get him shirtless, this video is proof of such obetification, poor guy lol.

Jarocha

Loved MC's characters in LFDD, Alborada, Sortilegio, Amar Sin Limites; hated the Doc in Mar de Amor; didn't watch PESE or any of the others he was in - but love, love to watch him in anything whether he's a good guy or a bad guy.

Hi, the recap is up. I try to add screencaps, but the blogger hates me this evening.

I am confused. Why does the ho want to kidnap Adri ? what purpose would that serve ?

Aribeth: Stellar, start to finish.

The screen shots were divine. Of course the one with JA beaming at Malu was my favorite. I laughed out loud at "Oh noes, Malú, you shouldn’t have written that, because now you’ll have to listen to his gushing about Ms. Vicky, their love, her stupid family, and what her song meant to them. (I hope he won’t mention that every time they have sex they listen to her song.) HA! Loved every word.

"*Viewerville: congrats, Nikki, that was quick*" had me nodding in vigorous agreement. Aribeth, (except for Lili), it seems that no one can resist Nikki. I thought Francisco might at least have made Nikki stand in the corner for a few minutes. But no, a few eyelash bats and some tears (granted, sincere ones) the megawardrobe was put away and all forgiven. If only real life were that simple!

Francisco hired as Carlos' bodyguard was a great twist.

So Anibal only wanted Nelson wounded. I wasn't sure if that was the plan or if the henchies just bungled the job.

Susanlynn, glad you also liked Pasion. Such a great cast! My first time seeing Colunga - loved him as a pirate so none of his subsequent roles have measured up for me. Hot Rulli,Levi and Cordoba certainly helped. My first time seeing Susana Gonzales too - who continues to be one of my favorites. A very talented actress with an amazing range.

Diana

Thank you for the recap Aribeth! I love it as always.

I completely agree with your "whoa Adriana". After seeing Vicente I'm 100 times more upset with Aníbal.

JA saving Malú from the fans was unintentionally (or intentionally?) hilarious.

It was also fun to see Lily cry during "Mentiras" and pretend that the show was some kind of deep story for some reason when it's just pure cheesy 80's fun. The characters even have the names of the popular 80's singers whose songs they sing: Daniela (Romo), Yuri, Lupita (D'Alessio), Dulce, Emmanuel, etc. The show has been very successful since 2009, Angélica Vale only joined the cast last year as Daniela. Natalia Sosa was the best Daniela though, she's such an impressive singer, although la Vale is good too.

Jarocha

Aribeth, thanks for the hilarious and super-illustrated recap. Well done.

My hope for Aníbal's redemption keeps growing dimmer and dimmer with each episode these days. The Lovely Linda walked through just as Aníbal was filling up the screen with that huge picture of him behind him. She said, "Wow, he looks and sounds mean, is that the bad guy?"

I explained that his morals are very iffy, but he's actually the grandpa of a wealthy family and likes to run his daughters' lives.

I might have understated.

So Vicente has arrived. Sorry Joan.

Let's all hope his morals aren't as iffy as most of the other Drs. we've met in TNs.

I melted right along with Guzmán. Nikki is so very forgivable... and gringo, I've also noticed how willing she is to pick a fight these days. Very early on when we were first getting to know Nikki I said that she is like a Jack Russell Terrier... now that she's well-nourished... even more so.

Carlos

Fantastic recap, Aribeth, and your screencaps are stellar, as always!

Yeah, Gramps is losing ground day by day when it comes to his chances for redemption.

Yes, blogger has been very annoying lately when it comes to adding photos. I hope they fix whatever it is that is wrong!

Aribeth - Great recap and pics.

Hmmm, will Malu wind up as the wedding singer?

Carlos....Ha...You always manage to boil things down and put the facts in to a nutshell. Like the Lovely Linda, I was tickled by that ginormous sketch of Ozyanyballs on the wall of the conference room. Talk about advertising your power.

Carlos...p.s. 'Most of us here do not care if Dr. Guaypo's morals are "iffy."...or maybe just ...me. ....juaever. However, my guess is that he is my...I meant to say Adri's knight in shining armor filled with amor and worth waiting TWENTY years for (????). if not.....another dream crushed....

Thanks for the great recap and pics Aribeth. Yes, I am sure Malu will eventually be Vicky and JA's wedding singer. She seems like quite a lovely person.

Aribeth - Thank you for the recap and the screencaps. Well done.

Aribeth:

Thanks so much for this most excellent recap! Loved all the screencaps too. I had to laugh out loud about your comment about Malu and the Angel telling her his life story with Ms Vikki, lol. Thanks again for this most excellent recap!
