Miguel has left the building and the ugly truth comes out CI 07/24/2013

Full recap down below!
Well, Miguel has killed Eusebio (yay!) and he and Lucia argue about what to do next, she tells him that they need to leave, go back home and get Miguel out of town ASAP, because you know calling the police and explaining what happened is just far too logical for these two idiots, so instead they leave the body (eh, no biggie) and run home.
Meanwhile at the ranch Ester and Ofelia are worried about the Lucia and Miguel, what could possibly be keeping them so long- nothing much they are just a little busy with a little murder. Just then Luci and Mig arrive, both look like hell and neither has a good explanation as to where they were and what happened to Eusebio, both Ester and Ofelia,  who are evil but do have some brain cells realize  that something here has gone terribly, terribly wrong.
In their bedroom Lucia and Mig discuss what to do, and by “discuss” I mean to say that she actually TELLS him to leave the ranch and run away to Mexico, once he gets there Octavio will have to help him! Ummm, okay, let’s see how that works out for you….Miguel is worried about leaving Lucia alone, how will she manage the ranch and two babies? She tells him not to worry; she’s got everything under control. He says he won’t question her and will leave the situation in her hands. This proves that he is a damn fool, grow a pair Miguel, grow a pair!
Miguel who apparently travels light gets one suitcase ready and bails, Lucia drives the getaway car as Ester and Ofelia look on, both becoming more and more upset. Later Lucia returns to the ranch and after being pestered about what’s going on drops the news: Eusebio took her to the river to try and rape her, Miguel had to shoot him dead. Ofelia and Ester are hysterical; especially Ofelia who just “knew” that Eusebio was up to something, I guess her woman’s intuition told her he was rapey? (Is that a word? If not, it is now!). She wants to go find the body but Luci lays down the law, no one is allowed out of the house!
Miguel has made his way to Mexico and to Octavio’s room (I’m not sure if he’s in the pension?), he basically says “hey what’s up? I kinda killed a man, so can I chill here with you so I don’t get arrested and end up in the pokey?”, okay so that’s not exactly how it went down but it’s pretty darn close! Octavio is shocked but agrees to help his big brother out, Miguel grabs some liquor and starts to drink it like it’s water and he is in the desert or the San Fernando Valley during a heat wave. The booze makes him very talkative and he starts to share some of his wife’s evil deeds.
He tells a stunned Octavio that Maricruz was set up by Lucia, she never stole anything and to make things worse the poor girl was pregnant. I’m actually disgusted by Octavios reaction, he seems surprised by the revelations drunky is making which means this jerk actually always thought that Maricruz was a vile thief, even after Santa and Jose Antonio clarified the situation for him. Octavio, you might have pretty hair but you are D-E-A-D to me!
The next day back at the Narvaez ranch police chief Suarez shows up to do some investigating-ha! this is the same man who sent out Jose Antonio to search for evidence in the fire that claimed Don Ramiro, I don’t think we should put much trust in him ever solving any case.
I can’t remember if he asked Lucia about Eusebio but I do remember her reply: “I’m sure you are here about Eusebio?”
“Yes, but I’m surprised that you know that”
“I know that he’s dead, and I know this because my husband, Miguel Narvaez was the one who shot and killed him, and what?!” (I added the ‘and what’ part, it seemed rather appropriate with her attitude)
“Why did your husband kill him?”
“I don’t know, all I know is that there are millions of reasons why Eusebio deserved to die, and my husband did what he had to do”
“Why not turn himself in to the police, he could have gotten a lawyer, made bail even, your reasoning is very vague senora, I need to know what happened, I need facts!” (the voice of reason!)
“If Miguel had turned himself in he would have to serve time in jail, I don’t know what his motives were but I’m glad he fled and managed to avoid jail”
Yes, she smiles as she says this, she is self-satisfied and smug and I think she might be in self-preservation mode, she did not tell Suarez the truth because that might have led him to dig deeper into her relationship with Eusebio and that could be a total disaster for her, and also she’s crazy and probably wouldn’t know the truth if it came up and smacked her in the face.
In Mexico, Octavio has made a plan to hide Miguel out in Isla Dorado, no one they know would ever find him there, Miguel continues to worry about the ranch but thinks some of the other ranch owners will be able to assist his crazy wife in the running of the ranch, later that morning both he and Octavio make their way to Isla Dorada.

In Isla Dorada MC 3.0 is getting ready for a long night of hard work at the casino (let me add that Ana Brenda looks beautiful and is my girl crush, I so envy her hair!), she takes a moment to bond with Lupita and then takes off to work.
Once at the casino she stops to chat with Toni, she wants to be informed when the Governors children arrive, she’s tired of them running up debts and never paying them and intends to have a conversation about this with the “little girl” Doris.
Hey, guess who showed up at the casino? Yep, the Governor and police chief, apparently the governor has never been to the casino because he does not want to give people reason to speak ill of him, he says he is an honest man and even then people make up malicious things about him, so he is not going to give them any more reasons to judge him poorly. He spots MC 3.0 and wants to meet her, the police chief tells him that she has a reputation for being difficult but the Governor thinks she can’t be that difficult, after all look at where she’s working?! (SNOB!) The police chief tells him that it is his understanding that MC3.0 has a special position in the casino and that she has rejected Karim, so she’s not easy to get to, this makes the Governor really want to meet her and he asks to be introduced to her.
Carola hears that the Governor is in the casino and she freaks out, she thinks that maybe it was a bad idea to let his kids gamble there and off she goes to do damage control, when she meets up with the Governor he asks her to introduce MC3.0 to him, she does so but fails to mention during the introduction that MC3.0 is the majority owner of the casino, MC3.0 lets the Governor know she’s not some casino woman, she’s there because she owns the place!
She and the Governor spend the rest of the night playing cards while Karim looks on, he is not a happy boy! He orders Mohammed to tell MC that he wants to see her without any of the previous games, Mohammed can’t sustain his lie anymore and has to admit that he lied to Karim about MC3.0 having an interest in him, Karim looks hurt/angry at the fact that he has been lied to and I’m amazed that he does not fire Mohamed. Anyhoo if MC won’t give him the time of day he has a plan B to follow, mind you plan B involves kidnapping MC but hey, at least he plans ahead!
The next morning MC receives gifts from both Karim and the Governor but she tells Juanita (?) that she is never ever going to love anyone again.
Join us tomorrow when Miguel meets MC3.0

Can't wait Eli. As to Tuesday's episode, I finally watched it this morning. How did Awfulia know that Ewsebio was in love with Lucia? I don't recall her having any idea about that.
I'm also glad that Miguel told Lucia that the reason he changed was because of all the bad things she has done.

Yikes! Univision isn't showing last night's episode yet. They have been good up until now. If recappers are relying on that like I am, you might want to record it at home as backup.

Baily Marie 7/24 17:00PM---So it looks like the governor is going to fall in love with MC too. I have
to say, I'm a bit tired of every new character lusting after her
Your comment made me laugh. Men are
hunters by nature and MC is a goddess. What man in his right mind would not want to persue a beautiful Latin goddess, a gift from the gods, and try to win her?
The qustion is so obvious, it shouldn't even be asked.

Carlos---You didn't comment yesterday, 7/24 I left a question for you, am dying to read your answer.
the gringo

@gringo, I love how much you love Ana Brenda Contreras. Your comments always make me smile :) :)

I can't wait for Karim to kidnap MC. That'll be sufficiently entertaining.

I feel sorry for Miguel. He's chained to Loca Luciafer and now he has a death on his conscience (although it wouldn't be on mine; Ewwww deserved worse). Hopefully redemption is in it for him. I'd like to see he and Octavio's relationship get better.

Speaking of Tav, I wonder if he'll find out MariAle has a baby and STILL doubt her identity.

Bailey Marie, he ain't called Oblivio for nothin'.

Gringo: I rolled my eyes when we had the governor also fall for MA. Does everyone have to fall in love with the protagonista.

Cathyx: I had the same thoughts. They never showed Awfulia finding out about Ewsebio sudden crush on Luciafer. I know havent watched that many TNs but this has to be the worst editing ever! So inconsistent. Key example - Oblivio. He was told before about the pregnancy by Serfina (even thought it was when he didn't know it was "his" MC. And even MC suspected so herself and he brushed it off when she told him. Oh well.

Bailey Marie: I too felt sorry for Miguel. He can sometimes be annoying and such a pushover but he does seem really remorseful about everything.

Well, I like the governor only because he was one of my favorite characters in Alborada...Don Felipe. And have to admit I'm with Gringo in that Ana Brenda is looking particularly gorgeous in the TN and I can understand any red-blooded fella howling at the moon when he sees her. Only Tony seems to be immune to her charms. Of course getting kneed in the groin can ruin the moment somewhat.

Yes, Miguel is remorseful but what a wuss. He ends up agreeing to whatever Lucia shrieks at him to do. And tries to drown his conscience in booze. Not much starch in his character.

So far, Tobias is my favorite man in this one. Oh and our resident hunk on the ranch. Forgotten his name but not what he looks like!

Eli...don't feel bad about forgetting. We've had lapsed recaps before. Stuff happens.

JudyB---Laughing out loud. Yes getting kneed in the groin can definitely ruin the moment. I felt it all the way on the West Coast.

I'm anxious to read what lucifer said to the Police Chief. Yes it was attempted rape but there wasn't
much of a fight, she didn't have a mark on her or her clothing. It's her word against his, well no, he's dead and there were no witnesses except for Miguel. And that leads to my question. Does anyone know Mexican law? Wouldn't he be charged with murder? Yes EWWsebio had a hold of lucifer but Miguel being bigger and stronger could have easily taken him down,
whip or no whip. Instead, he just rides up and shoots EWWsebio in the back or head, I'm not sure which but anyway, killed an unarmed man with one shot from his rifle. I pretty sure that he would be charged in the US. What does Mexican law say? Anyone know?
the gringo

Bailey Marie---You want a lady to suffer through a terrible kidnapping? For SHAME!
the gringo

Gringo, my recap will be up shortly with the explanation as to what Lucia said to the police chief! Sorry for the delay but I'm doing the recap at work and sometimes they actually expect me to work, the nerve of some people, lol.

Judy B - You are referring to Jose Antonio. He is one of the few characters who make sense and actually show logic...lol. El Me caes bien! And I also agree that Miguel is a MAJOR wuss...to me that is his major fault. He needs to start doing some thinking for his own good and stop relying on the schemes of his good for nothing wife!

Eli- Just tell your boss that you're busy with something IMPORTANT!

Because I need some explaining. Here was my reaction to the whole episode (on Youtube since Uni must be busy with recaps too): "Seriously, what???" I've never bailed on a show before but I might be ready to do so. I stuck with the LQNPA stupidity because most of the actors were worth watching. but here, besides the few (3? plus a monkey?) people we like, there is only Rene Strickler that I think rises above the story.

Even if his character does not. It was the same country policia who put MC in jail based on the word of Lucia. And Miguel thinks he's not going to listen to the patron of the hacienda? Even Eusebio's girlfriend thought he was up to no good. That should carry some weight with the cops. But no! Better he goes to Mexico to let his idiot brother help and trust in his crazy (he knows this to be true) wife "fix" things.

And what is with Octavio telling him to stop his drunken talk? Wouldn't you encourage this to get ALL the dirt?

And you know a really good way to get revenge on Carola? FIRE HER! Revenge done. Movin' on.

And while I'm on it, I might as bring up the guy a few episodes who Carola let win to get money for herself. If you saw this guy winning several times in a row on roulette, would you sit there and be annoyed as they did or would you put all your money on whatever number he does? Sorry. It still bugs me.

But then again, all this nonsense is what makes sarcasm possible. Thank you, Mejia family! Besides, reality and common sense get boring.

Kelly

Doesn't MC seem as though she really loves her scenes with little Lupita?? She is really an adorable and beautiful baby!!

Ann-NYC

Dying to know what Lucia told the police chief!!!

Oblivio is really obtuse! He acts all surprised when Miguel mentioned his "children" but I could've sworn that in one of Miguel's letters to him he had mentioned that Lucia was pregnant again. What is it with this guy?

Agree that Miguel is a major wuss with a weak mind. Just the type to get caught up in the gambling life at the casino, que no? Just a wild guess, but what a way for MA to get back at the brothers and Lucia - have one of the casino girls "bewitch" Miguel and get him drunk enough to do the deed and then Lucia can really say he's cheating! But then again, would MA really go that far?

AMEN Sister Kelly! Tell it! :)

Seriously though, I agree with everything you said.

By the way, whatever happened to Carola's cousin? The gigolo Carola hired to distract La Mendoza? Did he ever even see Mari? Did they just drop that storyline? I would have preferred that time had been spent on Solita.

Yes, Mari is a gorgeous woman, but come on! All of these men are obsessed just from seeing her from afar. They should be even less so after they meet her, because her personality isn't exactly sparkling these days. Men are indeed visual creatures, but I give them more credit than that and believe that they need a little bit more than a pretty face to go from admirer from afar, to devoted suitor.

Anon 4:02-- Even Miguel reminded him that he wrote about the second baby on the way. Tav obviously has memory issues.

Lupita! now how difficult was that?

gringo, I adore crazy people, especially beautiful crazy women, but as a spectator, not an active participant. I though that Miguel handled the situation perfectly. Good shot, cowboy.

Although I wouldn't think there would be much in the way of legal problems for Miguel from the way he handled the matter (he was protecting his wife who was in imminent danger of severe bodily harm), Lucia's inexplicably addled conversation with Suarez will no doubt prove to be problematic.

I'm loving the lunacy of this show. So now Karim is going to kidnap Maricruz? Please, please, please let it happen on my watch. Kelly, I've found that a shot of Tequila enhances my understanding and appreciation. Miguel seems to have made that same discovery.

Carlos

Maybe MC gives off a powerful pheromone that men just can't resist. She could then bottle it up and sell if for a lot of money.

So Luciafer threw idiotic Miguel under the bus. She has to be one of the most twisted evil characters I've seen.

I actually felt bad for Carola. She looked really nice in that dress and is age appropriate for the Gov and he didn't give her a second look. MA is his daughter's age!

@cathyx, isn't Luciafer terrible? It makes me wonder why she was so paranoid about him cheating on her. Did it simply hurt her pride? She probably never loved him at all, and was afraid that he would spill the beans about all she did to MC. It makes me feel even worse for the pobre diablo.

Great Part 1 Eli! I can’t even begin to fathom Luciafer’s logic. I think you’re right that she doesn’t want the cops to dig into her relationship with Ewsebio and stumble upon their evil deeds. I think she also said something about not wanting her virtue to be questioned if the news about the attempted rape comes out—because you know, it’s always the woman’s fault. *rolling eyes*

Miguel is a weakling and a coward, but that’s always been the case. With a better (saner) wife, he might have been a prefect husband. But his weak personality, and Luciafer’s BSC personality, are a bad mix.

I am also miffed that Tav seems more shocked to learn that Luciafer set Mari up, than he was to hear Mari stole jewelry. Especially AFTER he had already been told by Santa and JA that Luciafer set Mari up.

Carvivile- I also felt bad for Carola. Yes, she is WAY more age appropriate for the Governor. In any case, it is just RUDE to heap so much praise on one woman and totally ignore another. Where did these supposed “gentlemen” learn their manners? Certainly, not from Tobi.

Now that the insect is dead, I bet Lucia is going to say she just found out HE killed the old man. That way, if proof is ever found (not likely, I know) that the fire was set, they will blame the dead man.

Thanks Eli for doing the hard work at work, lol.

Not only did Oblivio act shocked that MC wasn't guilty about anything she was accused of, he was constantly trying to shut Miguel up! I kept wondering why he wouldn't want to know and hear all that Miguel had to say. Let him talk, man. Oblivious wanted to remain oblivious. Ugh! What a dolt, I don't like him and I'm glad that MC wants to sick revenge on his a$$. He deserves it. I hope Lupita gets her smarts from her mama.

Are we to assume that Mohammad told Karim that he didn't actually sleep with MC? I thought he might have told him and it went on the cutting room floor with all the other clips that would make this TN more understandable, because Karim seemed very dejected after his talk with him.

I can't help but think that the governor has the same benign (ok, wussy) personality as the character he played on La Fuerza Del Destino. He definitely fits better with Carola.

CathyX that's what I got from it, but I have only one working brain cell so what do I know?

Thanks for your recap Eli. Wow, I knew Lucia was evil but I was shocked she threw Miguel under the bus. I can't wait until she and MC meet again but MC better have stronger revenge tactics by then.

Yes. Mo came clean and Karim now knows he didn't sleep with Mari. I'm surprised Mo still has his head.

Eli, that's more than Oblivio and Miguel have.

I also can't wait to see Miguel see MC. Will he believe she's not the same person? Does oblivion run in the Navaez family?

CathyX, so sad but oh so true, lol.

Eli -- I loved your comment about "the valley", I lived there myself many, many moons ago. And I too found that work at times an be very inconvenient. Good to be retired now.

I have to weigh i on Carola, I love her hair. I think Tobias is a real gem, love that man. I agree that Antonio is good to look at and wish I had just a touch of MC3.0 charisma.

Even at my age, I am still wondering how women like Lucia can whip their men around like she has the Mig. I think there is a term for that, but think it would be probable cause for a little censoring so will just let it go at that.

Eli, loved your recap. Muchas Gracias

Emeraldrose, gracias! This summer we have had some super hot days out here, it makes you want to move to Alaska! Boo, I still have about 30 more years of work before I can retire, sad times :(

Eli -- I was born in Barstow and raised in San Ber'dino. Muy cliente in both spots. We both know hot.

Those years will go quickly to retirement. Although it does not seem so now. I thought retirement would never come. Again thanks for your recaps and your kind reply.

Thanks, Eli. I always love your recaps. All these people are getting on my last nerve. like Judyb..I liked the actor playing the gov when he was in Alborado, but I do not know if this character will be likable.
Ingrid Marz is very pretty , but she is never cast as a leading lady.
Miguel looks like a hot mess. buy a vowel, dude. These brothers are clueless.

You guys are too kind, that's why this blog rules!

Emeraldrose, I'm counting down the days till I no longer have to work, lol.

@Eli - Great recap, Eli. I especially loved this line: "Octavio, you might have pretty hair but you are D-E-A-D to me!"

@Susanlynn - actually, Ingrid Martz was the protagonist in a 2010 novela named "Zacatillo, Un Lugar En Tu Corazon". But you are probably right that she won't get cast as a lead anymore; that one didn't do so well, plus believe it or not, she is already 33 years old, and turns 34 in Sept.; she is seven years older than Ana Brenda, which is why I laugh every time I hear Ana Brenda call her "muchachita"; the same when Ana Brenda treats Araceli like a kid, since that actress is also 33 years old.

@LatinainMD, I think it's hilarious too because in LQNPA both Doris' and Araceli's characters were friends of Ana Brenda's protagonista.

Thank you sooooo much Eli. You had me worried when you said that you were at work and that your boss actually thought that you should be working. I'm glad that you didn't get a written reprimand. Some companies have software installed on their computers for use by upper management that enables tracking of all employee's
computer usage. I wouldn't want any Caray recappers to get in trouble.

Lucifer really threw Miguel under the bus.

I guess that I am as dumb as Oblivio.
Miguel ran to Mexico? What? The rancho is in Tamaulipas, that is Mexico. Where is this Isla Dorado?
That's also mexico right?
the gringo

Gringo, it's common to call Mexico City-Mexico. Like calling Washington DC-Washington.

Gringo- You will never hear a tn character say they are going to Mexico City. They will always say Mexico or D.F. (Federal District). Like we say D.C. or Washington, but hardly ever the full name of Washington, D.C.

Just now getting a chance to comment (hotel with busines center, computers!). Loved MariAle's white dress with the black leaves/vines appliqued on it.

When the gov. saw MariAle and said "Caramba! que mujer!" all I could think was "Gringo, this one's for you!" since I know you love our heroine so well.
