Corazon Indomable #67 3 crazies and a crying toddler on one small island.

Married? ShutupDoris insists that’s a lie, and launches into another of her patented tirades.

Octavio and Ed are preparing for flight with Luciafer on board. Octavio wants Ed to keep quiet about Miguel and his little problems. Ed, the voice of reason, tells him he should stay out of their mess, but Octavio can’t help involving himself.

MA is at home congratulating herself over her anonymous call to the gov. ShutUpDoris must be having a hissy fit right about now. Check. Juanita comes in with the baby in a stroller to take her out for a walk and is bouncing around like she has to go to the bathroom and can barely hold on. Just go already, you’re making me have to go.  MA doesn’t notice and goes on to say how much she loves taking care of her baby’s needs. Finally MA looks at nanny and asks what’s wrong. Juanita tells her she’s worried because someone is watching their house. So it wasn’t because she was going to wet her pants. But why take the baby out on a walk if your worried about being watched?

Octavio is walking Lucia and the child through a plane hanger. She asks how Miguel is and he must be missing her, right? Lie, Octavio, Lie. Don’t involve yourself in their mess.

MA is grilling Juanita about who’s watching them. She said sometimes it’s one person and sometimes it’s more. They keep asking her questions, is MA married, has she received any mail, does any man live here,  but she didn’t think it was important to share this info with MA until now. Is she related to Oblivio? What’s that? MA is at the casino all the time and you never see her? Ok, that makes sense.

Mohammad comes by to talk with MA. He wants her to visit Karim, but she says no way Jose. She’s not his slave to do his bidding. But Karim is losing his sanity over her and Mohammad needs her to visit him.

Octavio doesn’t take my advice and tells Luciafer that Miguel is doing fine and not to worry about him. Lucia just knows that Miguel is missing her terribly. See, this is how you get by being crazy. You believe what you want to believe about your life being one way when it’s really not.

Mohammad continues with his pleas. He tells her that Karim (crazy person #2) is crazy obsessed with her and that makes MA think of all the times where Karim has shown his desire to have her. Yuck, that sounds so gross to write that. Even the kidnapping was to have her as his own. So that makes him a crazy person, and Mohammad is worried about his sovereignty. She agrees that his obsession may be true, but she has no interest in him. Mohammad wants her to say this in front of the doctors, not sure how that solves anything but maybe it will give the doctors a chance to see how loco the Emir is and declare him unfit for duty. She agrees to do it.

Back to the original crazy person (#1), Luciafer continues to discuss Miguel’s change in attitude. Octavio rehashes all the things that Luciafer has done and that Miguel has become disillusioned over her. And as any true mentally ill person would do, she justifies and reflects the blame back onto others, including Octavio for starting things by bringing MC into their lives. Octavio is now finally showing a little bit of anger about losing his child over all of this. But Miguel misses her doesn’t he? No, he’s happy living how he’s living and he’s doing great drinking and losing the ranch to the casino.

Speaking of the devil, Miguel is asking Raiza for another loan, only this time not for gambling, but for pretending to Lucia that everything is aces (that’s a pun, get it?) on the island. How much? $2500 dollars. No problem. Raiza then informs MA that Miguel wants a loan because #1 is in town.

Crazy person #3 solicits Mariana to help her get rid of MA. She’s certain it was MA who called her father anonymously. Mariana gleefully agrees to help.

#2 wants to see his obsession but Mohammad tells him that she doesn’t want to come, and Karim continues to threaten to lie that she was involved if she doesn’t come.

Speaking of his obsession, MA is counting out $2500 dollars to give to Raiza. MA wants to be kept informed when Luciafer arrives. Raiza asks if she is going to meet her and MA says of course not. She probably knows she wouldn’t fool #1 into believing she’s not  MC. She thought bubbles that she’s almost got the three of them trapped in her vengeance web. Raiza brings Miguel the money and he continues to sign his ranch away. But she tells him that MA refuses to give him time off to be with his wife.

Mariana stops in to visit MA. This should be good. Mariana comes in with a big attitude. She came to inform MA that she shouldn’t mess with ShutUpDoris. MA gives her attitude right back and says that ShutUpDoris will not marry Octavio until Octavio is divorced. MA then kicks her out of her office complete with an eye roll.

Lucia arrives to see Miguel. During the time after he got the money and before Lucia knocks on the door, Miguel has managed to tie one on and fall asleep on his bed with a nearly empty bottle of something on the nightstand. He hears the knocks and hears Lucia but he’s sure it’s just a nightmare. And it is, but a real life one. Commercial break and my hands are sweaty anticipating this scene.

Andres comes to visit the gov at the office. He wants to join the military. Daddy informs him that it’s a 5 year commitment, but Andres wants to do it. I think it’s a good idea for a bored young man who is obsessed with his sister.

Doris has arrived to the lobby of the hotel that Miguel is staying in to talk with Octavio. This should be good too. He tells her not now, he has problems. She says she has problems too but he says his are more important. Lucia has arrived. Doris doesn’t care and wants to know if Octavio is married. He tells her it’s true. She rightfully asks why he never told her from the beginning, and he actually says, “Because you never asked me”. Ha. So women have to ask the guy if he’s married first before they start to date them? He asks how she found out, and she tells him MA informed them. Will Oblivio figure out that she’s MC? Don’t count on it. Doris wants to know about wife #1, but Octavio will not discuss it. She then wants to involve her father to fix this situation, but Oblivio doesn’t want to do that. He mentions that they have a child together. #3 insists that she will marry him somehow. Miguel and Luciafer come down to the lobby and Octavio introduces Luciafer to Doris. Doris introduces herself and the future Mrs. Octavio Narvaez. #3 invites #1 to go shopping and explore the island later, and #1 is encantada. Doris leaves. Lucia exclaims how great for Octavio to be marrying a rich pretty girl, but learns that he doesn’t love her and besides, he’s also already married. Lucia is surprisingly surprised by that news. No matter though, he is so fortunate to be involved with a rich pretty girl.

Lucia comes in and wakes up Miguel. The toddler is crying and it’s making me anxious. Miguel is not happy to see them. They break away from this scene and during the break, Lucia gets rid of the crying boy somewhere in the hall outside of the room I guess for a nap. Miguel tells her that this is what he has become from all the stuff she’s done, but #1 insists it’s Octavio’s fault, not hers. He tells her she has to leave, but she won’t. Then she asks if he still cares about her, and he tells her not to ask that. Oh, burn! She want’s things to go back the way they were, and Miguel finally asks about the baby she’s expecting and learns that she lost it.

Karim now tells Mohammad that he wants him to get the police over to implicate MA in the attempted murder of him. Mohammad tries to talk him out of it, but #2 insists.

Doris pays daddy a visit. She says that since he was married in a small town, they can ignore the little annoying fact that he is married and just marry anyway. Dad feels uncomfortable with this. #3 insists that they do this.

Octavio pays MA a visit. He now insists that he knows she’s MC.  Of course she denies it and then he says that if she’s not her, then he will marry ShutUpDoris. She says he can’t remarry because he is still married to MC.  Aha! This tells him that they are the same person, not sure how that implicates her, but oh well. She stands there defiantly as the credits roll.

Thanks for your efforts to recap this fun episode Cathyx. It seems like the pace has suddenly accelerated, there was a lot going on.
Doris was on the brink of madness again, but never quite went over the edge. She showed remarkable restraint! At this point it's just the need to have her own way that is motivating her, I don't think she even likes Octavio anymore. And why should she? He's like a limp rag. He really needs to get some kishkas. The sight of Doris and Lucia shaking hands and embracing made my blood run cold! The thought of the path of destruction those two crazy witches could leave in their wake terrifies me!
Can't wait for Lucia to spot Maricruz tonight!

Doris asked O if he is married. He said NOOOOO. It was when they meet each other for the first time. What else I can say.
Alegria

Alegria, that is just a silly detail the writers don't think we need to bother ourselves over.

I'm getting so tired of Tav and his weak spine. Why can't he just tell Doris "shut up, I don't want to marry you!" But he lets this go on and on as if he'll just use her for backup.

CathyX: Lucia said she gave the crying baby to Ed! Which made me laugh, thinking of her forcing her crying baby into his hands and left having to deal with him. That would have been a scene I would have liked to have seen!

I would think that Tav, now whole heartedly believing MA is MC, would feel embarrassed by what he said to her about MC and would be apologizing, except he seems to feel wronged. I hope MA smacks him down with his reprehensible behaviour to MC. But what I want to hear never happens! sigh

Great Cathyx

Oh good grief, they were married in a small town, so they'll just ignore it.
Now Lucia is dismissing Oct's wife.

Since we are clearing up that little insignificant issue of marriage, maybe it's time for Aracely to ask Ed that question. You have to ask, otherwise it doesn't count.

I don't blame the baby for crying, I was also.

If nothing else DORIS is determined. MA is in an interesting position. Doris can swear that she saw the whole thing and MA did the deed. The gov is not going to take her being married lightly and could possibly withdraw his protection. Emir is not going to be pleased that she is rebuffing him yet again, and Mohammed has the perfect person to take the blame for the stabbing, So no support from him. Tav makes no difference either way. BUT, she can afford to hire excellent legal help.

Good luck with all of this MA.

Thanks for this very funny and spot on recap. Lots of great lines and observations. I especially liked:

"I think it’s a good idea for a bored young man who is obsessed with his sister."

I have mixed feelings about Andres, he seems superfluous, but does add another layer of creepiness.

So Maricruz has decided to do a little mothering? We'll see. She becomes less and less appealing with each episode. I think that her self-centered selfishness, narcissism, and downright meanness is right up there with that of Lucia and Doris.

Carlos

Oh boy Carlos, them there are fightin' words with Gringo.

Emerald Rose, this show has a lot more episodes to go. I wouldn't be surprised if MA does get back to jail, or at least has to fight against it.

cathyx,

I'm sure that gringo realizes that I meant those things in the nicest most affectionate sense of the word.

Carlos

“See, this is how you get by being crazy. You believe what you want to believe about your life being one way when it’s really not.”
“He hears the knocks and hears Lucia but he’s sure it’s just a nightmare. And it is, but a real life one.”

Cathyx, these two zingers sum up Lucíafer PERFECTLY. My favorite line of this recap was “I think it’s a good idea for a bored young man who is obsessed with his sister.” LOL! In the real world, I don’t think Andres would last too long at the military academy though.

I think Doris may have surpassed Lucia in insanity. Her reaction to Tavvy’s marriage was priceless (you married in a pueblo? Ah, bueno, entonces…) Essentially, Octavio is marrying Doris for the same reason he married MC: to “teach someone a lesson.” With MC, he was getting back at Lucia, and now he’s marrying Doris to get back at MC. Grow up already!!!

“Because you never asked me” will go down as one of Oblivio’s worst quotes, right next to “I’d love to sin with you.”

Random side note: This was the first time I noticed the bookcase under the staircase in Tav and Ed’s hotel lobby. I like it.

I'm sorry but both Lucia and MA/MC are horrible mothers, punto. Lucia arguing with Miguel with a crying baby, MA/MC screaming about the house being watched while she held the crying baby are indictments of the characters as well as the director. Are there not child protection services who monitor these scenes with infants in TNs? They need to be there to halt stupid use of these children. Or start using dolls in place of little babies. The script writers need better guidelines. This is outrageous.

Anonymous, I'm not sure you have or had children, but they cry at random times often without being consolable. If you stopped everything you are doing every time they cry, you wouldn't get anything done. Lucia gave her son to Ed, and MA took the baby and laid her down, so they did what was necessary and in a timely manner. Could Lucia have a toddler doll instead? That would be hilarious.

AMEN

This IS fictional, right?

Paul, I hope so. Otherwise we're all living Miguel's nightmare.

I beg to differ. Yes, it's fiction, but holding live babies while the script calls for you to rant probably starts the baby crying on the set. Yes babies cry without reason in real life. But in the TN, they cry when the hear shrill voices. Of course they moved them off stage pronto; you couldn't hear Lucia's and MA's rants. And remember the scene a few weeks ago when MA was holding the infant with one hand? Everyone was holding their breath that she would not drop the child.
No it's a problem with the directing. No babies should be held while the script calls for loud rants. What effect does this have on the actual child in the scene?

Great one Cathyx, thank you.
I loved your title. I'm still chuckling. Your recap had me laughing right from the start. ShutupDoris now has her tirades patented. Well, I'll have to admit, she's good at it. Her tirades are first class. LOL

Adriana Noel---Thank you from yesterday---I didn't post but I enjoyed your recap.

Right Paul, Lucifer and Doris together---Wow!! what could that lead to?

I had to laugh when I read that Adriana came into MC/MA's office with an attitude. Obviously she never met Maricruz 1.0

Raiza's loan to Miguel was in dollars not pesos. Is there no Mexican money on the island?

Carvivlie---Maricruz "will" make Oblivio pay for his early mis treatment of her. I don't know what she is going to do or how she is going to do it but before she gets through with him, he will be on his knees begging her for forgiveness.

Did I get this right? If you are married in a small town, that doesn't count? What a great boon for man. All you have to say is--I'm tired of this one, I'll just move to the city and try again. LOL
You're crazy Doris.

Emeraldrose---Good analysis, and yes she could get a good lawyer but
doesn't the casino have cameras? They have to. Just roll the tape or play back the dvd recorded disc and everyone will see that Maricruz was on the other side of the table. If they say she planned it, people on her side could say, not so. How are they going to prove that?
the gringo

Gringo, good catch on the casino having cameras. I'm certain that real casinos do, but probably not this one. That would make too much sense and ruin a good plot line.

Yeah, right Carlos. You choose Lucifer almost from day one. Good going.
the gringo

Gringo -- You are right, I have noticed monitors in various scenes of the casino. Also the country air must be really good for children at the rancho. I notice Mig Jr. has tripled in size and age, while Lupita is still an infant. Weren't they born about the same time? Does this time warp mean Ester will give birth shortly?? And can't wait to see Doris' reaction when she finds out Tav is married to MC/MA. WOWIE

I want to see MA take on both Doris and Lucia in the same go round. Perhaps during a shopping trip?? That is going to be one cat fight.

Gringo: I hope you are right and MC has Tav on his knees. That handsome, lily livered boy needs some sense and spine knocked into him!

Help Me...As I think back, didn't MC tell Tav she was pregnant shortly after marriage? Lucia, I think, announced she was pregnant after MC. But the baby is older than Lupita. Am I right or is old age catching up with my memory? This TN seems to be on spin cycle as far as keeping things straight.

Things are really moving with crazy Lucia and crazy Doris all on the same island. Add to that the crazy Emir. Neither Lucia nor Maricruz is going be a good mother because their reason for existence is either high drama (Lucia) or revenge (Maricruz) I think Maricruz sees her revenge as justice. Thinking back of her deprived life, age and what has happened to her in little over a year, I can cut her all sorts of slack. For me she is quite the heroine so far. It will be interesting to see when Maricruz will feel that the debt has been paid; when justice will be done for all that she and her family suffered at the hands of the Narvaez family and their employees. As for Octavio, he is just a pawn in their plans and lucky for them he acts like one. As for Miguel, the only influence he can have is by racking up debt at the gaming tables that Lucia will ultimately also be responsible for. The episodes have been quite good lately.

Jarifa

Emerals(d)rose, she found out she was pregnant after Tav left and after Lucia got pregnant. But the babies shouldn't be 2 years apart like the actors look.

Lucia found out that she was pregnant the same day when Octavio proposed to MC. So of course this boy must be older. But he is too older.

Talking about babies. It's funny, but when we watched this episodes with Mexico we wondered why Lupita was always sooooo quite. And it's bad. Now here I read that she is not so quite and it's also bad :))))
Alegria

Funny how those society ladies who consider themselves above everybody and real "ladies" are never really, well ... LADIES (yes, I'm talking about you, Doris, Mariana, Lucia, even Ester)! The only lady who IS a lady (so far) is Simona.

Carviville - I thought exactly the same thing. I would've loved to have seen Ed trying to calm down a crying, possibly wet and hungry baby. Maybe even tried making funny faces or something!

Octavio did treat Maricruz like a toy, just something to use to get back at Lucia. However, he is totally unaware of what she thinks he did to her. The main reason MC wants to get revenge on him is not because he left her. She had agreed to let him go to work and he was going to send money to help her and her family and then come back or send for her. He sent money, but Lucia and Miguel kept it and then all of Lucia's shenanigans and machinations to get MC jailed and out of town happened, topped off by the LETTER she wrote supposedly from Octavio where he tells her she's not for him and he was never coming back. The letter is what really hurt her heart. MC thinks this came from him and he is innocent of this. She's going to get revenge on him for something he didn't do and she's going to wind up treating him like she was treated - guilty until proven innocent.

Anonymous, Octavio repeated hundred time by himself that Lucia wrote in the letter. The only difference, he didn't know with whom he was talking.
I remember very well how MC reacted, then Octavio said, that he kept all his money for MC. MA was shocked and pleased. But then once again he spoilt everything saying that there was no need in this anymore, because he is interesting in MA and will never see MC again.
So MC wants to vengeance for what he said and did now.
Alegria

I'm sure the baby mama is very close by & instead of handing the baby to Ed it went to mama.

Thank you CathyX and Anonymous for the heads up on the baby timelines. Too much intrigue to keep everything straight. Am loving the TN none the less

gringo, I'm glad you checked in with us today. I was a little worried when we didn't hear from you yesterday.

Lucia of course is BSC but very beautiful. I enjoy looking at her but I've never actually chosen to champion her. I do feel a great deal of sadness for her and although she has done some very evil things, I don't think that we can declare her evil but rather... simply insane. And more's the pity.

I'm truly enjoying this show but it has some glaring flaws and for me one of the most glaring is a lack of genuine motivation for the decisions the characters are making.

A case in point is the emir Karim. supposedly he is enchanted to the point of madness by his obsession with María Alejandra, but then Mohamed arranged for him to have her and he seemed physically satisfied by the experience but then it seemed what he really wanted more was for everyone else to know that he had her and of course when he became aware of the deception he became very angry.

I'm an Octavio fan because I believe that he really fell in love with and truly loved Maricruz (granted in an incomplete very immature way) and now naturally he loves María A because she is one and the same.

In LldA Oliver was in love with Gretel and when she was masquerading for a time as Manolo (a male) he had such strong feelings for Manolo that he began having doubts about his sexuality. I think that this is similar (except for the sexuality doubting thing) in that Octavio is experiencing his original love (for Maricruz) for María A. He's just too dumb to be able admit that.

These other guys want MA/MC as an object and she is feeling empowered and flattered by this. This is why I called her narcissistic.

I really do like Maricruz but María A... not so much. She grew leaps and bounds intellectually but has really regressed emotionally.

Carlos

Thank you Cathyx! So many funny lines that have already been mentioned. I also had a chuckle when Lucia said she handed the crying baby to Ed. Notice that Ed also took Tav's bag upstairs because he was too busy dealing with his never-ending personal drama. Tav needs to pay Ed for all his service.

Oh, I remember something that bothered me last night-- the way that not only Lucia brushed aside her role in murdering Don Ramiro, but Tav did too! I expect it from Luciafer, because she is BSC. But Tav, although oblivious, is supposedly sane. Yet, he only seemed mildly annoyed that Lucia just admitted she murdered his grandpa-in-law! QTH?!

It's Don Ramiro's murder or rather the casual acceptance of it by Octavio, Ester, Simone, and everyone who ever hears about or suspects it that is the final straw for me with this show. A human being, an old man who never did any harm to anyone (odd child-rearing practices aside), was horribly murdered by a woman with the incredibly trivial motive of getting rid of socially embarrassing in-laws. And you just forget and forgive? (Miguel is the sole ray of light here, since he's showing the decency to drink himself to ruin with guilt over the matter.)

I really didn't think I required any modest quota of logic, realism, or moral principles in a telenovela, but this one proves to me that I do have some standards.

On another topic in this night's very busy episode, MariAle singlehandedly and flippantly resolves all the political problems in Karim's country, while also being the only one running the casino at this point, buying new dresses and sky high heels every day, getting some heavy kissing in with Octavio, and being a single mother to a newborn (well, that last one she is not really doing!)
So was Eduardo also babysitting when both Lucia and Miguel were at the casino tonight? Eduardo looks more like Octavio's brother anyway, and certainly sounds like it. Did Miguel go to boarding school in Argentina? Don't actors change their accents for roles?
Sometimes I'm grateful for the inconsistencies, because the drama is so intense!
