PEAM #102-7/31/13: Extra! Extra! Desperate Widows Fighting Over Cricket-Face Man
Recap By Pablo
Labels: Manda
Thanks for this fab recap.
So this is Yuri's Picadillo plan? I hope Delia takes care of this picadillo plan. Rogue must have come up with this stupid idea. If Rogue thinks this will make Alma run back to him, he is stupider than I thought he was. Rogue needs to go back to la carcel. I hope this is what does it.
Poor Chucho, he was right about the calm before the storm. He'll probably cave and not be around Alma or Valentina. But since there are 80 capitulos to go, they had to come up with something to separate Alma and Chucho again. I can't see Chucho not seeing Valentina.
Ugh, now Cantu is eyeing Domi! I can't stand him. What a letch!
Ferny and Xochi were so funny. Even breaking their glasses. I hope they stay together.
So now we know for sure that Ray is a girl. Poor thing about her Mama. I wonder what her Mama did?
So can Patymelt repair her friendship with Alma? I wonder......
Mads, I also liked Fer and Xochi, especially when he stood up for her against Rogue. It's interesting how all of Rogue's Avon playground bully pals are turning away from him.
Cantu might be letching on Domi but she's encouraging him! What is she thinking?
I'm not too worried about Yuri's picadillo plot. He's beyond lame. However he does look fabulous in a suit.
I liked the scene where Panfilo asked Chatita if she liked him or just liked fighting with Susana. Good question dude. But I think he got his answer with Chatita's wink.
hee, hee ... the robot words are "caccapi"
I actually was wondering the same last night. And did you also notice NOONE TAKES THEIR COATS OFF. It's been driving me batty in this show that everyone walks around with their coats in the houses. Even poor Val does it. Maybe moths got to the clothes and they have to wear coats over everything.
For the life of me, how Alma, facing the gun, did not see a laser pointed right at her head. I've seen those things in action and you see the line and certainly can see the spot! Chucho, lord love him, usually gets out of these scrapes, and I agree, this is a lame plan, so he should be able to weedle his way out. Go tell your Delia and then go undercover, but he better not just cave.
I thank the writers for the lovely FerChi scene. Made me truly smile. And the Chatita scene with Ray, well done.
Pati stuff, like we knew that would happen. And Vero---the look at Val's face. Please someone, get this girl away from her mother.

I often wondered about the winter clothing in a warm climate but your delivery hit the nail on the head. Yep, certain parts of the city are colder than others. ;-)
Cantu is such a horny toad. Rogelio should hire Alexandria for him.
I did like Ferny and Xochy's date. They are good for one another.
I still don't trust Paty and I wish that Alma did not let her in but then it wouldn't be a telenovela.
Panfilo needs to sit down and worry about getting healthy or he won't be any good for either woman.
Marisela and Elias- I know that she is young and cute but...she needs help.
Speaking of needing help- a psychiatrist could retire off of a casload that includes: Dr. Loca, Rogelio, Paty, Fern, Xochy's mom, Ray ( poor little thing), Valentina for the kidnapping, Jessica, Marisela, Veronica and the list goes on.
I found your indoor/outdoor apparel observations very interesting along with "cricket face man".
Nothing left to comment on this one.

Cara de grillo es how Chatita calls Pánfilo affectionately. And now that I see him closely, I understand why. I wanted to use it and what better way that in the title. I know that was not the main theme, but love and revenge are so everyday things...
Susana and Chatita fighting over what could be TOSMTAIM is priceless! Now that Sebastián is out of the picture. This demonstrates that Dña Susana doesn't care who, she only wants something to warm up her bed, jajaja! and for that, I know some other ways less disgusting...
(The only single man their age in Monterrey)
The laser thing was ridiculous; as was the idea of Jesus giving in to Yuri's demands. I hope Jesus has some clever plan.
I will admit that I got teary while Ray was speaking to Chatita. She spoke about how her mother got killed because she was a woman, who was weak physically and couldn't defend herself. I don't remember Chatita saying that her mother did anything wrong. Wasn't it Ray's father who killed her mom? Now she lives with her brother (who we have yet to see). Sad story all around.
Also, thanks to Daniela yesterday for identifying Tomasita Herrera.
I think Discua is no longer in the opening credits. Maybe she's not coming back after all, or at least not soon. But that's okay, because I like Xochando (Fernchi?) a lot.
I realize this means that there's still no woman for Julio, but maybe he could try converting one of the Chisme Twins into a decent human being.

He was a child-like, hermaphroditic curandero.
I think I read something about this spirit who was the guide of yet another curandero, Niño Fidencio...
Why would a TN promote this kind of pagan ''saints''? I mean, I am tired of Virgen the Guadalupe being the main character in all of them, but this? Is ridiculous!

Is Chucho-Tocayo also a would-be Jesuit like Fernando Colunga?
Isn't Marta still on the loose? Now that Discua is long gone, the actress who plays them both needn't worry. Notice how they are never in the same scene together????
Can you explain a little more about the nino Tomas? I like to learn about the culture and had never heard of it. Thanks.
I googled it and found out that he is one of those called pagan saints, not recognized by the Catholic Church, like Malverde, saint of the drug dealers (like they need help from above to ruin lives here on earth) and the Saint Death... you know, weird stuff like that...

Boy do I feel silly, I Disney realize that Discua and Dr. Loca were one a s the same. I thought so but I wasn't sure.

Sorry!!
I suppose we are meant to believe that the air in Monterrey is so pure and clear that there are NO particles to make that laser beam visible to Alma even though she was directly facing it.
It took me awhile to figure out that Discua and Marta weren't the same actress, too. They must go to the same plastic surgeon, although I think Marta gets a little more out of control with the tweezers and pencil on her eyebrows.
Favorite lines:
"Who won, who lost, who knows?" (And I almost expected you to add "who's on first"?)
and
"plan B,C,D, and inclusive E".
Oh yeah, our villain and his cohorts are dense and Uri's heavy-handed Spanish doesn't help either. His plodding delivery reminds me a little bit of Arnold Schwarzenegger speaking English.
Color me confused as to why Domi would encourage the lubricious Cantú but I can't fault him for admiring her lovely legs. Great calf development there....probably from having to run back and forth waiting on the irascible Rogelio!
Tried the Julie Maneuver of just watching the last 15 minutes of this and it worked fine. Saw the adorable scene with "Sushi" and Fernando and enjoyed watching sweet Val be tucked into bed...Awwww. Works for me.
Again, thanks to Daniela for cluing us into the pagan saint. I learned about some pagan saints when I visited friends in Brazil years ago, and realize that the church has always accommodated, to some extent, existing pagan beliefs and that's why we include Christmas trees at Navidad time, and celebrate Christ's birthday in December (Winter solstice)when he actually is purported to have been born in August. (But hey, I wasn't there...so who knows?)
Pablo, the first time I ever saw Carmen Salinas was when she was doing an ad for some kind of psychic hotline. (That's probably why I didn't like her.) Maybe her fondness for curarderos ties into that too.
I don't think Discua and Marta look much alike at all except for maybe their hair. Marta is much harsher-looking!
Have Jesus, Alma, and Pancho, Pancho Lopez ever considered that maybe they should be taking a really close look at Rogue's dealings, especially regarding Avon's finances? Jesus especially knows that Rogue is a liar, a cheat, and up to funny business. Why would he think he would keep his hands out of Avon?
Is not even that, between TBBT and PEAM there's a little bit of time I use to set the VCR up. I am not even paying attention. OK, ok, I am, yesterday I got to listen Octavio's musical theme, where he sings a song that tells everything he has done, bad and good, to Maricruz... pathetic!
