PEAM #103-8/1/13- Picadillo Means To Distance Yourself From The Ones That You Love and Paty Tells The Whole Truth

The Old Business-
We start out with the lying skank Paty begging outside of Alma’s apartment door for another chance.    As Pablo would say-juarever!!   Alma lets Paty in and gives her a second chance. (Eye rolling time for me)
Xochy and Ferny are enjoying their date and talking about how Xochy doesn’t drink and that Ferny doesn’t have any friends, no one to confide in except for Jesus.  They toast for friendship, break their glasses and share a laugh.
Elias is putting Val to bed and she asks if Alma if the Queen and the Helper will live happily ever after (and the handwriting is on the wall) She wants to know if Alma is going to be her stepmother and when will she marry her dad.   Alma has to take of things because she is still married to the Mean Prince. Nothing gets by Val.  Nitey, night!!!
Jesus arrives at Uri’s room and thought bubbles to Uri’s warnings about the people that he loves, Alma, Chatita and Val. He better not tell Officer Delia or someone may get hurt, possibly all three. Malvino lets him.

New Business
Alma pours Paty’s favorite drink and Paty is touched that Alma remembers. Paty tells Alma that she is happy for her being with Jesus and she always knew that they were meant for each other.  Jesus’ love helped her get through the suffering as a result of Paty deceiving her.  A humbled Paty agreed. (At this point I have to eat some crow because Paty is being truthful.)  Alma realized that she didn’t really love Rogelio and Jesus arrived at the right time in her life. Indirectly Paty helped Alma and Jesus to get together but Paty had selfish reasons for wanting Alma with Jesus.   Alma asks Paty if Rogue has changed in the way that he values, treats and handles her.  She lets Alma know that Rogue is seeing Vero, The Ice Princess.
The Ice Princess cancels her date with Rogelio because she realizes that her life is a failure.  She asks Minerva for the bottle of liquor.

Uri reminisces about the last time that he saw Jesus in Chicago.    Jesus will not beg for his life and Uri will not kill him now but he would like to.  Uri wants to play the revenge game.  What an idiot!!  I want to cal him -The Good Humor Man.

Cantu can’t believe that Rogue has 2 women after him and now a third.  Rogue is worried about what Uri might do to Alma.  Rogue is hot in the pants for Vero.

Vero is confiding in Minerva, because she doesn’t have any friends. She has lost two important men in her life. It’s her fault.  Elias is a good man.  She tells her that she knew that and Elias would split up because she wanted Jesus. She washed and ironed Jesus’ shirts, disrobed in front of him and nothing. She feels bad that Val prefers to be with either of her dads than  with her.  She makes everyone’s life bitter who she’s involved and both Vero and Minerva drink to that! The first thing when he was disconnected from the electronic ankle bracelet was to go out with the Ice Princess.  Paty shares the pregnancy plan with Alma. (So for once in her life she is being honest.  I am eating another piece of crow. I admit when I’m wrong.)

Uri wants Jesus to pay for the time that he spent in jail and he will make him pay by separating Jesus from Val and Alma.  The two things he treasures the most.  Jesus jumps at Uri.

Alma tells Paty that getting pregnant is no way to keep a man. (Now there’s a first!)  Paty is desperate.  She’s tried to get pregnant before with Rogelio but he wanted to impregnate Alma.  Alma has better genes than Paty according to Rogue.

Jesus reminds Uri that he deceived him by telling him that he was delivering a suitcase for orphans.  Uri wants Jesus to be separated away from Val and Alma or they will die and Jesus had to be physically restrained by the flunkies.  If anything happens to Uri, Malvino and his sidekick go after Alma, Val and Chatita.

Xochy brings up how the first time that he tried something with her in the copy room he was repugnant to her.  She told him about the pheromones that Jessica gave her for Jesus.  Maybe it’s working on Ferny??? Ferny likes the real Xochy not the dressed up one.  She slaps meringue on him and somehow the meringue is splattered on the other patrons.  Ferny is asked to leave.

Panfilo is having dinner with Chatita and notes the plant that Ricardo gave Marisela.  She is watering it.   She describes Ricardo as one of the 3 sillies.    Marisela tells them that she likes both Elias and Ricardo.  She also recites one of the quotes that Ricardo has shared with her.

Uri warns Jesus that if he sees Alma she will die.  He works with her so that won’t be easy. Uri asks if he speaks Spanish badly.  Yes, terribly, well conjugated but no accent, it’s harsh on the ears.

Uri wants to see Jesus suffer and be without the ones that loves otherwise he will be picadillo.

Alma wants to know –how can you stay with a man that tells you that he wants to have a child with someone else?  Someone who has better genes.  Have some dignity, girl!!! Alma tells Paty what she feels is codependency, masochism.  Alma tells Paty that she is attractive and intelligent,  Paty panics just thinking about life without Rogue.  She tells Alma that she is a kleptomaniac

Uri will be watching Jesus all of the time. Jesus can’t bear to listen to anymore and punches Uri square in the face. And draws blood.  He throws Jesus out of his room and tells him that we are watching you.  Jesus doesn’t know what to do, but I’m sure that he will figure out something. (Why isn’t Delia watching them???)
A loud Xochy and Ferny are laughing at her door and her mother opens the door.  She introduces Ferny to her mother and mommy is ecstatic that he is a Rivadeniera.  Xochy has hit gold!!!!!  She offers Ferny coffee.  Mommy is still in shock. Excuse me, Barbara!!!  Mi casa es su casa, Ferny.  Ferny is in 7th heaven.  Xochy bursts into her childlike room. (How old is she??)
Mommy still can’t believe that Xochy hooked an executive.  Xochy lets mommy know that she is not going to listen to her babble about how she could never hook a winner, blah, blah, and blah.  Xochy is glowing!!!!

Chatita comes home and finds Raymunda sleeping in the doorway.  She asks if she can stay with Chatita and sleep with her because she misses her mom.

Elias is working at home and the bell rings.  Its’ Jesus.(Where’s Minerva???)   He wasn’t to peek in on a sleeping Val.  As he looks at Val he hears Uri’s threats.  He tells Val how he would move the sun and stars for her and he loves her more than anything.  Val awakes and asks Jesus why is he so sad because he loves her.

Alma tells Paty that she needs professional help.   Paty feels that just being with Alma and having her back in her life and listening to her is help enough.  How about Marta??? Uh no, she needs more help than you.  Alma will help Paty to find a job.  Paty can’t believe the goodness of Alma.  Paty tells Alma remember when Rogue was assaulted.  I did  it.

Elias asks if Jesus is okay and he lies and says that he is okay  a little melancholic , not daring to share his dilemma enough Elias asked about the extortion call.

The next morning a suited, gloomy Jesus, thought bubbles to Uri’s threats and uses Alma’s car to go to her penthouse.  He thought bubbles to all of the good times that he and Alma have shared to date.  He hands Alma his letter of resignation and it’s irrevocable. (And this is going to be the basis of the 80 more episodes.)

Alma is perplexed.  What is going on?? Jesus is going to take the Orion job.  Que the heck??? Alma wants to know why the sudden change of his mind??  She wants to know why he made such a decision and to Avon’s competition?  She wants to know what is going on??  Jesus won’t share the truth.  Alma can’t believe what is happening.  He still thought bubbles Uri’s words, that if Alma isn’t convinced, she will die.

Rogelio is having nightmares that Uri is at the house and he shoots Alma.   We watch the bullet head toward Alma in slow motion and Uri has made picadillo.  Actually   Uri is shirtless  at the hotel during bicep curls.  (I like him shirtless and quiet)

Rogelio calls Uri to find out what is going on, and Uri tells him that he has already begun to execute his plan.

Ricardo calls Marisela in the break room and compliments her beauty while she secretly takes the compliment.  FF

Malvino lets Uri know that Jesus went to the Orion building.  They are keeping vigilant on Jesus’ every move.

A joyful Xochy skips to her desk, while a crestfallen Alma sadly walks to he desk.

Augusto is delighted to have Jesus work with him.

Susana and Xochy note Alma’s cheerless, pensive behavior.

Augusto shows Jesus his office.  Aida welcomes Jesus to the company.  Augusto wants Jesus’ company car ready for him as soon as possible.  Jesus has to sign a confidentiality form for the company.  His nameplate is coming.

Alma is still coming to grips with Jesus’ resignation.  Augusto tells him that he will work very hard against the competition. Augusto assures Jesus that now he can be more than just an assistant.  He welcomes Jesus, again. Aida asks Jesus if he is okay.  Jesus feigns happiness.

On a split screen, he asks for Alma to forgive him and soon she will know what is going on.

Coming attractions:
Jesus attacks Uri because he is threatening Val
Rogue is happy that the plan is working in his favor
Alma comes to Orion to see Jesus and find out exactly what is going on.

Good evening to all!!!

It was a sad but interesting episode tonight.
I am finishing up my crow pie and on to the next episode. :-)

Lol....TJ..........I like my men "shirtless and quiet" in most of my TN's. still laughing over this one!!

Wonderful recap TJ!!!

Chucho should just use his stinking head.

Piense Jesus!!

"If anything happens to Uri, Malvino and his sidekick go after Alma, Val and Chatita.

Which means the two goof balls will screw up and nothing will happen to Alma, Val, and Chatita!

Gertie

Thanks TJ! I can't believe Jesus doesn't have a plan. All he had to do, while he knew Yuri and his two stooges were busy celebrating in the hotel, was tell Elias what was going on when he saw him. That way Elias could make up excuses to Val about why Jesus was staying away.

The next morning when he went to see Alma, he should have also told her what's going on, and let her know he will need to keep his distance and take the new job, and she will have to pretend to be bummed out, while he finds a way to get out of this mess. Then have either Elias or Alma call Delia and tell her what's going on.

Why break Val and Alma's hearts needlessly? Stupid!

I was pleased to see more of Fern and Xochi's date. And I also like that Pati told ALL of the truth about herself, although she still shouldn't expect Alma's forgiveness. I don't think Alma forgives her, yet. She didn't answer Pati when she asked. But I think Alma now realizes what a pathetic mess Pati is, so she feels sorry for her and wants to help her get her life straight.

Tablet Jefa, thanks for the quick and complete recap.
I agree it was a sad episode.

Vivi, I too cannot believe that Jesus is just crumbling without a plan. Gertie, I liked your "Jesus should just use his stinking head." LoL

My favorite part was Xochi jumping around her room and falling on her bed.

TJ, thanks so much. I enjoyed the recap more than the episode. I am rather disgusted with Chucho. Don't eat too much crow, and make sure Chatita has whipped it into a tasty dish. I didn't think Patimelt would come clean, either.

Was anyone else having flashbacks to Renato in El Tal looking at Uri? Ack; my eyes.

GREAT recap! Thanks Tablet Jefa. Well, we needed something to get screwed up so we could go another 80 episodes. I guess Jesus caving to Uri is it.

My favorite TJ quote of the night, when you called Uri The Good Humor Man. Bwahaha! Good one. He looks great in a suit, except that it is white. Blech. Julia, is that what you meant about Renato?

ITA with y'all that Jesus should've come up with a plan. Sheesh, Uri's an airhead and his cohort's are even stupider, can't Jesus see that?

TJ:

Thanks for this most marvelous recap. I missed the epi this evening. Wow, a lot went on!

I hope this plan of Yuri's fails. I hope somehow that Elias or Alma is able to sic Delia on Yuri and his bumbling cohorts. I can't stand what Yuri is doing to Chucho.

So the little girl's name is Raymunda. How pretty. I am so glad that Chatita looks out for her.

Xochi and Ferny are so funny, and I am so sorry I missed the rest of their date and Mama Barb's glowing approval, lol.

And Patymelt was honest! Who knew? I am glad she told Alma the whole truth. I too don't think that Alma should forgive her, but Alma will probably help her. Patymelt is a hot mess.

I will have to go on line and see if I can find this epi.

Thanks so much TJ!

Thank you for the recap. I have to say I find the Chatita/Ray relationship to be one of the most touching I've ever seen on a show like this. They're so sweet together, but not too schmaltzy. I find I'm looking forward to their scenes together more than any scenes involving those inane secretaries at the office!

I'm eating that crow right with you TJ. I didn't expect a BFF truth session at all last night. But I'm glad because I had really liked Pati at the start and hopefully we can get her funnier side again. Betcha that job Alma gets her will be at Avon...betcha betcha.

I also am beyond frustrated with Chucho. If this keeping all this threatening a secret isn't a plot ploy I don't know what is. Every other time he goes running to Delia with issues and suspicions. Not this time" How about you should be arranging protection for your loved ones? Just beyond me...

And Alma's reaction - a little over the top. They discussed this offer, and though Chucho had said he would stay as a secretary in his pink shirt at Avon versus a well paying, with benefits, secure position at Orion ( WTH????) just to be able to mack out with her in the office daily, she didn't seem all that upset at the prospect of him working there at that time. He didn't "break up with her" as far as I can tell, just went to work at the competitor...maybe I missed something. But didn't get the ugly tear reaction.

Sorry Chucho, but if you would pay attention at the office, responsibility, and the pay, you kind of our securing a better future for your daughter. Just sayin'. His moping was pretty lame too. These adults need to grow up.

Yeah, Aida is back!!!! An honest to goodness hard-working secretary. How refreshing.

I can get why Xochi is acting so silly. She really never had a chance to be a "teen girl in love" until she tried with Chucho. That was a disaster, and now she has someone who reciprocates how she feels. I am so afraid of what the writers are going to do with FerChi. This is too fun to watch, and they are so over the moon. There has to be a burst bubble coming soon. :(

Thanks, TJ. I know it wasn't the most fun episode, but it was certainly interesting.

Vero should ask herself why Valentina would rather be with her dads than with her mom. Doesn't she remember that dismissive little wave she gave the other night when Valentina wanted help with her homework? Probably not, because she was much more interested in Rogelio. Another character who thinks she's entitled to whatever she wants regardless of whether she deserves it.

Speaking of which, I'll have to help you out with that crow pie, TJ, because I didn't think Paty would tell Alma the WHOLE truth so soon. She must really be at the end of her rope.

Uri asking Chucho about his Spanish was funny. U's accent is so bad. (Mine is probably worse, but I wonder if it's even possible for it to be much worse.)

Like the rest of you, I am frustrated that Chucho isn't taking the obvious steps he should be taking to deal with a threat from a bunch of guys who can't afford to get in any more trouble with the law. I assume that Uri is violating the terms of his parole, but even if he isn't, he and the Warehouse Twins have made Chucho witness to the fact that they're all in business together and now it will be even more difficult for any of them to make a plausible claim of innocence.

I realize that we still have 79 episodes to go, but I hope THIS isn't what keeps the story afloat that whole time. This is the kind of problem that can be solved in 20 minutes with a couple of phone calls.

Distancing himself from Alma is going to mean not only quiting Avon, but also breaking up with Alma. When and how is Jesus planning on doing this? And how is he going to explain to Elias and Val not seeing her? Just ridiculous that he didn't tell Elias and Alma what's going on. Not Jesus' finest or smartest moment.

Put me in the camp for wondering what is Jesus' plan,
Thank you for all of the compliments.

Great recap TJ. Love your Eating Crow theme. Even the despicable Vero seemed to be eating crow last night, realizing how her own selfishness and narcissism was alienating her daughter and Elias and Chucho as well.

Two of our bad girls on the way to Redemption Valley! With stops and starts along the way of course.

I can't watch this right now. I HATE these plots where people are hurt unnecessarily because of secrets and threats..and of course, as Vivi pointed out, it could all be explained but nooooo........

Oh well. Hopefully, since this is a comedy, the misunderstandings and hurt feeling won't go on too long....will they?

So I'll be missing a few episodes...but never these excellent recaps. Thanks.

Vero does seem to think more clearly when there's alcohol around (remembering her previous pulque session with Minerva and the rompope with Chatita). Unfortunately I don't think booze will cure her in the long run!

Oh Julie! " Unfortunately I don't think booze will cure her in the long run!" I think you're right.

I am willing to cut Chucho slack for one more episode. Just cuz the shock and threat to the ones he is so attached to could muddle his mind. But we know his tocayo will see him through. Being VP at Orion should put some power in his hands, resources at his disposal, new allies. AND what will Pancho Lopez think when he hears about Chucho jumping ship? Ay caray!

I only caught the last five minutes, but we’re getting to the part of the novela formula that I hate: breaking up the couple.

JudyB, I so agree with this: “I can't watch this right now. I HATE these plots where people are hurt unnecessarily because of secrets and threats..and of course, as Vivi pointed out, it could all be explained but nooooo........” --I’m probably going to just read the recaps for awhile, too and maybe concentrate on La Temp for the time being.

Maybe Jesus will think of a plan, he’s just in shock right now (Fishknits—wrote this before reading your comment. I see we think a like).

Nanette

Thanks, TJ, that's a fine recap: covered the territory w/o excess.

O THANK YOU, Julia, for bringing up El Tal. I'm hanging on to your "Only Motel Inn Fresno" but otherwise have just about finished a low level format on all sectors of my feeble mind involved in that one.

I'd thought a novel plot twist would be to have Paty do a little seppuku at Alma's place instead of the drivel about being "arrepentida." Too messy, I guess. Don't you love it when a "friend" decides you need most of their damn problem because all they want is exculpation and they want it cheap?
