PEAM#128-9/5/13- The Oscar for the Best Supported Liar Goes to Veronica In Kangaroo Court; Day 2 of the Marriage And The Lies Are Flying

The Old:
At Ferny’s and Xochy’s religious ceremony, Discua aka the butt that walks and talks (thank you, Pablo) interrupts the wedding, by opposing it.  Discua still loves Ferny, wink, wink, and everyone in the church is impactado.
The New: Rogue can’t believe his ears.  For some reason, Cantu (who is so horny and has to touch someone) and Rogue drag Discua out of the church while she loudly proclaims that she has forgiven Ferny and loves him.  A stunned Ferny, collects himself, takes Xochy’s hand and proceeds with the ceremony.  Discua tells Rogue that it was his fault that she was sent to Ferny’s house to catch Jessica and he sent the text to her phone and she proceeds to slap him, while the idiot Cantu is laughing and then he gets a slap.  Discua is uncontrollable.  Meanwhile the religious ceremony continues.  Xochy and Ferny are declared man and wife, while the crowd screams- kiss!!!

Aida is consoling a distraught Julio.  Aida shares with Julio that she married the love of her life; Tomas and a truck instantly killed him.  Love hurts.

Rogue and Cantu take Discua to his house, while he still calls her Biscuit.  She is upset that she is being held against her will.  Discua is more aggressive this time around, Rogue reminds her about the light and let’s Roge know that she still loves Fern and will fight for him.  Rogue threatens her and tells her to stay away from Ferny, because he is capable of anything.

The next morning, Jess is painfully drinking a cup of coffee and Ferny drops by.  He is not on his honeymoon because Xochy has some work to complete.  Ferny shares with Jesus that what Discua did at the church has affected.   Xochy shares her fears with Alma and also feels that although Discua is fraud, she was sincere at the church. Ferny shows Jesus the “newspaper article” about Discua being a fraud and going after rich men, why did she forgive him?  Why didn’t she find another rich man to defraud?  Jesus smells a rat but advises Fern- to leave Discua in the past and focus on Xochy who is his present. Xochy relates her situation to the movie Pearl Harbor- where the wife thinks that he husband is dead and remarries, hubby returns and it’s a disaster.

Cantu and Rogue discuss changing some paperwork; Caribbean bank account numbers, Nick Donovan and a fool proof plan for Discua.  Meanwhile Vero is snooping through Rogue’s cell phone and checks his outgoing calls.  He called Nick Donovan and 43 calls to Paty.   Que the heck!!! To solve their money laundering issues, cash will be deposited into Discua’s bank account.
Discua is sad because all of the money that she earned can’t help her to win back the love of her life, Ferny. (I see that Discua is dressing in more bold colors, has she seen the light?)  She has faith that Ferny is her soul mate, her kindred spirit.  Ferny who is still very much bothered by Discua’s appearance is rereading the “newspaper article” and decides to call the newspaper office to further investigte. He wants to get in contact with the reporter Victor Artunez but is interrupted by Xochy. Ferny shows the reporter the article and the reporter denies writing it.  The reporter will not divulge who wrote the article so Ferny will continue to investigate.  Xochy asks if her hubby has arrived to work and the Jessica giggles over the reference to having a hubby.  Jessica sees that Xochy is upset and asks if it’s about Discua.  Xochy stomps off to pout at her desk. Because Ferny is taking too long at the bank. Her insecure behavior will throw Ferny into Discua’s arms.  Ferny lies that he couldn’t call her form the bank on his cell and it was packed.  He needs to be truthful.  Discua realizes that Ferny didn’t know that she didn’t go to India and wants to know why is it so important to Rogue that she doesn’t talk to Ferny.  She cancels her appointments so that he can go to the temple.  Xochy knows that Ferny is lying and shares that info wit Susan who warns her –to not accuse Ferny of annoying.  Wow, this is going to be some marriage if on day 2 they are having issues.

Jesus has an early morning appointment with Augusta the rude. (Okay Augusto needs to stop spreading his seeds if he cannot raise proper individuals.   So far, both kids are losers in the personality department.  He has a very dysfunctional family)  Augusta tells Jesus that compared to her, her strict father is an angel. She wants the new sales plan which Jesus is working on her desk by 8 AM and Jesus lets her know that its not happening. he has to go to court and she can't control that.

I’m not really sure why Vero needs to share with her lawyer (that Elias is paying for) the fact the Rogue calls Paty many times.  She wants to control him.  She also shares that in a portfolio Rogue has a lot of cash.  Why??? He has a telephone number of a Nick Donovan and she happens to have the digits.  She wants Rogue in her pocket for her own personal gains.

Jesus” lawyer advises him to remain calm during the preliminary hearing with the judge.  The lawyer lets Jesus know that the judge hates him. In walks Vero and her lawyer.  My problem here is that Vero is not married to Rogue, and is living with him but wants to fight for custody of Val.  Does adultery matter or is it okay because it is out in the open?? At the hearing, that lying Beyotch Veronica tells the judge that Jesus was not in Val’s life for 6 years and when she told him that she as pregnant he went off to follow his dreams in Chicago, leaving his daughter to question why did he abandon her?? It’s just not fair.  He is violent and impulsive and she doesn’t want her daughter near him.  Jesus told the judge that Vero was lying but the inept judge told Astudillo to control his client. Vero was crying crocodile tears and saying that she doesn’t know Jesus.  Jesus was demanding that Vero stop the crap and the judge ordered a restriction for Jesus, he cannot be within 1 kilometer of Val.  Jesus was stunned- que the double heck??  Jesus begged the judge to listen and he tried to explain but she wouldn’t hear him.  A smug Vero told Jesus this is what she is capable of doing and more, but Jesus told her that she will be sorry and then his stomach started to hurt and grumble very loudly. A dejected Jesus arrives at Avon.  He needs to see Alma when his phone rings and the rude Augusta tells him that her daddy wants to see him.  Jesus tells Augusta to leave him alone because he is not in the mood, hmm maybe tomorrow.  She whines that he hung up on her and she is investigated him, found out about the fraud, and wants to know why did daddy hire him?  All men are idiots except for you daddy says the spoiled brat. Ugh, we lose one idiot and gain another.  Augusta has only been on for one day and I can’t take her.  Jesus tells Alma about the calamity in front of the judge and how Vero lied.  Alma reassures Jesus that everything will be all right. Rogue and Cantu come into the Avon and Rogue asks about the hearing.  He knows that it didn’t go well for Jesus and he is a giggling little fool.

Vero is so proud of herself thanks to her lawyer’s advice. The lawyer has some information about Nick Donovan.  She tells Vero that Nick is a wealthy businessman from Los Angeles.  He owns boats and airplanes and is being investigated in the United States for illicit businesses.  Meanwhile Vero has to get proof for the lawyer against Rogue.  Sure Vero will get what she can because Rogue is trying to play her with Paty.

Rogue and Cantu visit a Nick Donovan, the chimneystack.  Cantu provides the bank account numbers and access codes for the Caribbean account.  Nick mentions $20 million dollars and the men toast.  Rogue has to make sure that Ferny doesn’t find out the truth about the “newspaper” article”

Paty has a new job as a soccer ball goalie.  Paty calls Elias to save her.  Elias comes to her aid.   Paty won’t be paid and tries to go after her boss and falls onto Elias.  They kiss.

Ferny is trying to stay strong and leave Discua in the past. He finds a paper from the temple and it brings back a flood of memories with Discua.  Ferny tries to mediate and stumbles onto the Discua exercise video.

Jesus arrives to the Orion office to find Augusta the rude in his office. He proceeds to stop her in her tracks and suffers an excruciating pain in his stomach.

Coming attractions:
With lies surmounting everyone is in danger and poor little Val suffers too.

Good evening all, sorry for posting so late but I had to tend to a family emergency.
I'm disappointed with the Ferny and Xochy marriage because they need to be honest to each other from day 1.
I have no words for Veronica except that her days may be numbered if she keeps her nose in mob business.

And I forgot, is Discua now an exercise video executive?? Since when did she become so aggressive?

Thanks, Tablet Jefa! "Augusta the rude" is perfect. Every time we think Jesus is going to get some relief another character appears to beat him down. I feel sorry for Xochi and want to hit Fernando up side the head. I liked the tone Jesus took with him. Veronica has got to get her own special place in her own little hell sooner or later, right?

Don't apologize TJ. Family always comes first and thank you so much to put this together for us! It was wonderful.

I'm really not liking where any of these plots are going. Hate Discua back in the pictures, knowing Val will be the pawn in the middle again is driving me insane and this new chicka at Orion is just stupid.

But as always, Paticakes lightened the show. Human soccer ball...loved it. Bless her, she's trying.

"Love hurts." HAHAHAHAHA. Couldn't watch last night because of the pro football opener, but loved the recap.

Loved the recap TJ. So much to be uncomfortable about in this episode.
--The nasty judge who wouldn't let Jesús tell his side.
--Fern's ambivalence
--Augusta's arrogance
--The prospect of Vale being torn apart even more

But a few interesting developments...
--Vero getting into the mob business
--Ricardo looking into Discua's temple

And a tiny bit of real comedy
-- Paty as a soccer ball
--Paty & Elias

Great job TJ!

ITA with everyone about the bad path many of these storylines are taking. I actually understand Fer's curiosity about Discua, because her attitude and her presence don't make any sense in light of what he was led to believe about her. But he should be honest with Xochi about wanting to look into it-- not because he still loves Discua, but for his own peace of mind about what really happened. We know that Xochi wasn't exactly truthful either, and rushed the wedding to tie Fer to her before he could find out Discua was back. I don't like that these two are going to have major problems before they even get to enjoy a honeymoon!

Also hate the Agusta, and the Vero-Jesus-Judge storylines. Enough already. Please, let Vero be taken out by the mob!

But I loved the scenes of Pati as human soccer ball, and then with Elias.

Thanks, TJ. I hope your family emergency is under control!

I didn't see this and I'm not sure if I want to. I think I would go crazy watching that much stupid lying.

And the lying between Xochi and Fernando isn't the only problem. No honeymoon? Come on. Granted they probably didn't have time to reschedule whatever honeymoon plans they had made, but they should at least spend a few days away from the office!

I don't think Vero's relationship with Rogue matters counts as "adultery" for divorce purposes because it didn't even begin until she and Eli were separated. And after they signed their papers she was free to do whatever she wanted, so she can be out in the open about it now. And the fun part is that if she's nosing into gangster business, she could end up getting some of it on her and end up in jail.

As for the most obnoxious lie of all: Chucho has Elias as a witness that Vero never told him she was pregnant. Right? Didn't she and Eli discuss that? At the very least, Chucho's mentioned it many times in front of Eli and Vero never denied it.

Julie- It seems that this was just a prelimenary hearing. There will be another one where the sides will be able to present evidence (and I suppose/hope witnesses too). The judge said something to that affect. Of course, she also made a huge decision on whether Chucho can see his daughter at all before the actual custody/visitation/paternal rights hearing, based on flimsy, unfounded statements by Vero, so who knows what the actually hearing will be like.

Thank you all.
This was a preliminary hearing before the judge which was so one sided. The judge made a decision and never heard both sides or weighed the facts. I really don't like that Val will be hurt or have to suffer.

Is it too early to speculate what anvil(s) the writers have in store for Vero? My guess: she gets involved with Nick Donovan, since she likes the assertive types that she can tame (and then she gets bored). She gives up/loses custody of Vale to Jesus, Elias and Alma. She moves to LA with ND. She actually falls hard for him and he treats her like she's treated everyone else--but she's so besotted that she stays.

Nanewtte, I don't think I'll be satisfied until I see Vero in a dirty, unsanitary place. LA's just not bad enough. ;}

Blue Lass

Sorry, didn't mean to call you an amphibian name. Google is refusing to recognize me again, and that always gets me flustered.

Blue: no worries. I know what I'D like to happen--and jail in L.A. isn't even bad enough for me the way I feel right now--I'm just wondering what the writers will have in store for her. Now that she knows about ND, I'm thinking that's her fate.

So Ricardo is going to check into Discua's church. This may be the beginning of a romance a lot have been suggesting.

TJ: Sorry about your family emergency. Hope everything is OK. Thanks for the great recap.

Tablet Jefa...Hope the family emergency has been resolved, and in a way that feels good for everybody. Sometimes HAVING to write a coherent recap of a crazy stupid episode is a relief from the other thoughts swirling around in the brain.

At any rate, you did a masterful job on a messy episode. I agree with everyone that the high point was Paty as an amorous soccer ball (that Elias sure has a captivating smile!)and the low point...anything with Vero on the scene. We need to get Eusebia from la Tempestad over here to straighten her out! Pronto. And hopefully she can fix Augusta too while she's at it. (Or should we leave that to Chatita?)

Thanks for valor under fire and a great recap, as always, Tablet Jefa.

Oh, and forgot to add...EXCELLENT TITLE. I always thought that was the hardest part...coming up with some zing-y heading.

TJ thanks so much for your recap. No need to apologize for having priorities such as family particularly when this TN is in such a bad place.

Yes it is sad that Fern and Xochi aren't being honest, the judge is an idiot, Augusto's latest spawn is horrible, and Virus continues to be a witch.

Nanette - ITA w/you that Virus's anvil needs more weight. She just goes lower and lower.

Yes, Judy, this recap provided a solid relief for me. Thank you all for your kind words.
The title is always the hardest part for me.

TJ:

Thanks so much for your marvelous recap! I had internet problems this morning due to a faulty modem and had to replace it. All I wanted to say has been said, but I wanted to thank you for the marvelous recap ; )

As I recall, Fernando proposed to Disqua and they announced their pending marriage to her church as well as to some of her co-workers at Avon including Rogelio. I don't know how it works in Mexico, but I would think she might have some kind of legal standing for breach of contract. That may explain why she showed up at the wedding.

Anon 4:08: when D first showed up at the wedding, I thought she might say "breach of promise", but then remembered that she broke up with him.

Thanks, Tablet Jefa! Great work. I hope the family emergency situation has improved.

I am not liking this incarnation of Discua. At first I wondered if maybe Rogue had let her know about the wedding so she would maybe show up and disrupt it, but then I remembered the lies he told about her. I'm glad that newspaper article is being questioned. I know Fern was too swamped in grief at the time to notice, but by now he should realize that it is odd that no one else seems to have read that prominent article about their former co-worker. That is definitely the sort of thing people would have been talking about!

Pato and Elias are cute. I love her attempts at employment. Also I hope that she really does get the therapy she needs and ends up reformed.

Vero should go into the deep-sea exploration biz, because she always manages to find a new low.

Tablet Jefa, I am back in a strong internet zone. Thank you so much for your clear and clever recap. It makes me feel like I got to watch it with you.

I am having a second adventure after 3 splendid days in the Dolomites in northern Italy, I traveled down off the mountains by arial tram, then a bus back to Bolzano then a train taking me most of the day from Alpe di Siusi through Verona and now I am near the Marco Polo airport in dreamy Venice. I finished the day walking in Venice, had dinner al fresco in a place frequented by real Italians.

Now I am elevating my tired legs and catching up on the disturbing events here in PEAM land. Only Paty sounds like fun. Can you just remember when she was the closest thing we had to an arch villain for betraying her BFF, the faultless Alma? I wish we could see some pie cart action on Veronica for sure and that judge needs to find a new bench, maybe in LA with Veronica if she goes for Nick the mafia guy?? Is he at least handsome?

Cheryl, your trip sounds wonderful. I eagerly await a peek at a picture or two.

No, Nick Donovan is not attractive. He's icky and he smokes nonstop. Rogue was choking and gagging from the smoke throughout their whole meeting.

Nick Donovan looks like a comic book character. (I don't mean a specific comic book character, just that he looks like he was drawn by someone who wanted to make sure his character looked like a gangster!)

Thanks, TJ. Great title and excellent recap of a poopy episode.

Also, I hope your family emergency has been resolved.

Cheryl, please, please adopt us!

Oh my...I think Nick Donovan is terribly handsome and dangerous looking. Not the endless cigar smoke but that face! yes...

Judy, I admit I don't think he sings the rancheras all that badly either. Maybe Vero can get him to quit smoking.

Whew...glad someone thinks he's semi-hot. I enjoy all his screen-time, perhaps especially because his smoke bothers Rogelio.
