Qué Bonito Amor #103 (Mex 141) Thursday 9/5/13 Que Preocupantes Desplomos

As he's being escorted back to his cell, another inmate playing Celia Cruz's "La Vida Es Un Carnaval" makes him recall better (?) times back at Ay Jalisco with Lalo and Pichi…pues, being Lalo and Pichi-esque.

With her fingers crossed behind her back, Elvira swears she had nothing to do with Maria losing her baby.

Mirna gets evicted.

Fernando gets slapped by Ana for kissing her…then he does it again and gets shoved…so he gives up and leaves before she can chuck a pillow at him.

Maria gives Elvira permission to come back to the bar until Concho recovers.  But she still doesn't trust that immoral skank.  She just wanted to see how far Elvira would go.

Santos got mail in prison from Maria, but he doesn't want to accept it.  He borrows the guard's pen to write something on the envelope and tells him to send it back.  He actually had a pencil in his pocket, which he now proposes to use to draw Maria's face.

Maria studies and remembers  better times with Jorge Alfredo.

Santos is smooching his decent rendition of Maria's face, until he goes into a coughing fit.  He remembers an indoor picnic with Maria back in the DF.

Concho feels a little better knowing that Elvira has come around…sucker!  Lourdes wants him to schedule his surgery, but Concho doesn't trust doctors.  Amalia comes to visit and talk about…Elvira.  Don't sit down, Amalia…it takes less than 30 seconds to say "Your daughter's an evil skank, just so you know."

Concho thinks his heart is finally suffering due to all his past misdeeds.  He begs Amalia not to take the bar away from him, but she says it's not her intention.  She's willing to let Elvira come back to the bar, but she wants Concho to acknowledge that both she and Susanito own a part of it.  She also wants Concho to apologize to Susanito.  Lourdes thinks it sounds like Amalia is expecting Concho to die.

Jennifer is unhappy with the hair dryer she's gotten out of Buffalo.  Buffalo is unhappy with Jennifer's reaction and breaks up with her.

Amalia has a bad episode of pain on her way back home and collapses.

Michael fills Justo in on OG's latest shenanigans.

Amalia made it home somehow.  Colosso wants her to tell Maria what happened, but Amalia doesn't want to.  She doesn't expect her girls to be left alone if anything happens to her.  She figures Colosso and Fernando and Susanito, et al, will take care of them.

Ana is all dolled up, ready to be true to her feelings…whatever that means.

Colosso promises not to say anything to Maria.

Maria and Susanito have a chat about what it means to be a man.  In short, it's not about sperm count, per Maria.  She also suggests if he's that set on having a biological child, he should look into treatment options.  Amalia and Elvira knock on the office door and Maria asks them to come in.  She sits Amalia behind the desk, in Pedro's place.  She informs them that she'll be leaving soon and Susanito will be the bar's administrator.

Ana comes looking for Fernando backstage at Ay Jalisco.  Just then one of Fernando's old flames comes looking for him too…and she ain't subtle about it at all.  Fernando hurriedly wipes off her lipstick before asking Ana what she wanted from him.  Fernando begs Ana to be his girlfriend again, but she doesn't believe he'll ever make a commitment to anyone.  She agrees to be his girlfriend after all…just as Sietemares walks in with a big bouquet of flowers.

Paloma and Roddy wish on a star.  Roddy wishes to be with Paloma forever and for Jorge Alfredo to prove his innocence.  *smoochies*

Sietemares starts to attack Fernando for kissing "his" girlfriend.  Ana apologizes, but she can't give Sietemares the chance he's hoping for, because she's in love with Fernando.  Fernando hopes Sietemares will keep his word and be a good loser.  Since he swore to the Virgen not to fight again, Sietemares settles for going off in a huff.

Santos is still coughing up a storm as he remembers one of the (many) times Maria sang "Me Equivque Contigo."

Susanito tries to beg off, saying he doesn't know how to administrate, but even Elvira chimes in saying he'll learn and that'll keep things in the family.

Sietemares gets his drink on.

Justo figures he'll have to give OG the money.  He promises to be patient.  I have no idea who he's talking to.

A guard comes to check on Santos, who hasn't eaten his food and is rolling around on the floor.  The guard notices the pencil and the drawing and takes the pencil away.

Mancia encourages Irasema to fight for Susanito.

Mirna tells Susanito that Maria asked her to teach him how to balance the books.  She's looking at him like a juicy filet with a side of garlic mashed potatoes and a chocolate lava cake on the way for dessert.  She conveniently kisses him just as Irasema comes looking for him.  Pobre de Irasema!

Sietemares is beyond drunk, crawling down the street, mumbling Ana's name.  Buffalo sees him and tries to help him, but Sietemares collapses.

Don Nando has decided to help nurse Santos back to help.

Maria tells Don Rigo that she's not going to LA quite so soon.  And she won't wait two months for him to come back.  She plans to leave in 2 weeks.

Santos mumbles deliriously about Maria as Don Nando applies wet compresses.  He talks to Don Nando as if he's Milamores.  He wants Fernando to tell Maria that he'll always love her.

Tomorrow: Ruben and Elvira plot; Santos finds out about the blackmail money OG asked for.

Another Thursday. Weren't we just here? I know I've been busy with rehearsals for multiple shows and with just maintaining a day-to-day level of awesomeness, which is sometimes more time-consuming than all the rehearsals, but I'm sure I've watched every episode and there are some things I'm just not getting...

1. All the flashbacks tonight...were those flashbacks to things we'd actually seen before, or did they stick in a bunch of brand new scenes as flashbacks?

2. Why is Mirna still working at the bar? I remember Maria allowing her to come back, but I don't understand why she let her stay after the whole "Elvira killed your baby...No, never mind, she didn't," mess.

Well, ok, I guess those are the only questions...aside from all the minor questions that are just straining my beanie, like why is Don Nando allowed in Santos' cell if he's in solitary and why don't they just take him to the prison infirmary, and why isn't anyone arresting OG for even existing anymore?

Anyway. I'm in rehearsals for 2 shows right now. I'm waiting on a flyer and details for the show in Mexico, but I also just started rehearsals for another show. The Mighty Vandals opens the first weekend of October. Here's a link for more info

The Mighty Vandals

Yum, chocolate lava cake.

No, we haven't seen the flashbacks before. Which makes them, what? Prebacks? Flashnews? Flashforwards?

Poor JAntos. That looks like a killer case of kennel cough he's come down with. Plus they took his pencil away. Pobrecito.

Thanks, 5 footer.

Thanks, Kat. I don't know how you do it with everything you have on your plate.

Actually, I think half of those are "new" and half were already shown (the ones where JA has no five PM shadow).

Knowing how JS hates to have 5PM shadow these scenes have to be torture for him.

Sickness all over this story: Concho, Amalia, Santos, Nando, Siete Mares. I think someone's prediction about Siete Mares is going to come true and Ana will probably feel guilty.

Jenifer is a total Gimmee Pig and Buffalo is well rid of her. I don't remember who told him he shouldn't be spending his last peso, but he was right.

The avances look ominous.

JS looks hot with a 5pm shadow.

La Diva no longer in the Desierto, you seem to be in the middle of everything. Thank you for taking the time to enlighten us denser heads. Thank you for the link.

As for beanie tightening time? Face it, if you screwed it in any tighter, you wouldn't be able to think at all.

I was upset that LaTemp went over 5 min and then we got about 4 min. of repeats (along with the usual Vicente crooning. But, if they cut anything out, I sure didn't miss it.

I hadn't seen any of those Prebacks (I like that one best Carolina). I thought they might have happened while I was on vacation.

The minute Santos started coughing, I wondered seriously if it was Santos or JS. I'm so glad it was Santos, but yeah, why is Old Nando nursing him......

This was your best line, "Don Nando has decided to help nurse Santos back to help." Take it as a typo for health and it's pretty straightforward. Leave it as is, and we see Don Nando desperately wants to hear more about Mexico and get his memory back. Santos is the only one who has willingly tried. Loved it.

I burst out laughing when I saw Elvirus with her fingers crossed. I thought only elementary school kids did that. Oh, she has the mind of an elementary school kid, so it's ok.

Jennifer and Buffalo? >>FF UA, it was Susanito who was counseling Buffalo, but really, does it matter?

I hope it's the last of 7 Mares and his completely uncomprehensible fake regional accent. He's a sorry character who only got worse after meeting Ana. He's a Debbie Downer and not right for Ana. I don't necessarily want him to die, but it looks as though he's just not strong enough to pull himself out of a depression and alcohol didn't help.

Maria gives Susanito advice on slow swimmers? She's beginning to remind me of the Miraculous Dr. Bert Rios in TdA, who specialized in everything.

Did anyone else think of David Z. and his wall when Santos made love to his Santa Maria-on-the-Wall? Only he and Sweet William could pull it off and make it believable.

To me, JS is so hot because he is usually clean-shaven. His face is way too interesting to be hidden.

I was also concerned that the coughing wasn't part of the script, but I also know that it isn't unusual for prisoners to become ill like that.

Most unusual prison. A prisoner in solitary gets ill and so they let in another prisoner with a bowl of water and a rag to help him. WTH! And making it more insane JA is a very high profile prisoner, who I need add has not even had a trial (What is this Guantanamo?). He is the son of a foreign ambassador — we still don't know if Justo resigned for reals, so you'd think that the authorities would be bending over backwards to insure his safety.

Now we can add one more talent to the bucketful that Santos has — artist. The guard would have taken the pencil away because it can be used as a weapon.

I have to wonder who justo is always talking to. Maybe his friend the AG but it sure better be someone with some power. He also needs to hire a team of body guards — pronto, both for himself and for Wendy. With the state of things in Mexico anyone who is anyone has a flock of guards so he shouldn't have any trouble finding some.

Justo rightly thinks the cops are completely inept. They still have done nothing to investigate the GF's death if they even know about it and OJ should be arrested and put back in the slammer for his two murders. He doesn't know about the threat Ruben is and if he did he could add the Mexican cops to the inept list as they have still done little on the Fabnot killing and are sitting on their hands over Maria's rape complaint.

Bufalo got a narrow escape from the gold digger and 7 Seas is a goner. He has to be suffering from alcohol poisoning and I don't think he really wanted to keep on living anyway. Ana made a mistake in trying to help him by letting him get too close to her and inadvertently making him dependent on her.

Those previews do look very ominous.

Are prisoners allowed to walk (dance) around freely with a ghetto blaster on their shoulder? All the guard did was tell him to turn the music off, as if he were at a dorm or something!

Back when Maria was acting stupid and not wanting to listen to JA and listening to Coloso, Amalia and Ruben, I didn't think she deserved JA and even wanted him to find someone else. I take it back. They deserve each other. He's so stupid - giving up on them (their bonito amor), being all pessimistic, telling his father not to do anything, thinking about escaping and sending back her mail - UGH!

And Amalia has yet another secret from Maria, this time forcing Coloso to swear to keep her painful episode a secret. Hipocrita!

I wonder if those "new" flashbacks were taken from those episodes that were mashed together in the first two-thirds of the novela?
