Caray, Caray!

I’m so irritated! I had this recap about 2/3 finished when my Google doc went ballistic and erased the entire thing! Has anyone else ever had this problem? Man that pithed me off. Good night, I will fix typos and obvious errors tomorrow. Or should I say later today?
 

Your recap is fine just as it is. Very good synopsis of the dialogue and the plot of the episode.
I loved, "Marina, in a rare show of good sense" rare indeed. She's already engaged, so it's too late to accept Damian? That's what engagements are for, are they not, to give someone a chance to change their mind before getting married?
Also, "We get some comic diversion with Becky doing her best to distract Hernan, not an easy job, and Olinto trying to distract Ursula on the dance floor." Didn't you just love the way Jose, Becky and Olinto were all in it together to make sure Marina had a chance to talk to Dam?

"he has a hate so big it won’t even fit in his big barrel chest", "he’d like to toast to the woman he plans to smother make happy for the rest of her life", "DamOMGCouldYouBeAnyHotter" and "Tia Becky is doing her best to relieve Hernan of his alcohol inventory" had me smiling away.

Loved the title.

Hernan cannot bear to let Marina out of his sight for a moment. Eventually, he will need to duct tape himself to her and make his nefarious plans via cell during the middle of the night while she is sleeping.

Clever Tia. At first, I couldn't understand why Jose was smiling as Becky whirled, sputtered and drifted unsteadily among the crowd. Emarie, the talented triumvirate of Becky, Jose and Olinto were amazing! What a shame all that planning did not result in the hoped for outcome.

Still, it was somewhat gratifying to see some sort of resentful spark from Marina after Hernan's chastisement. It would be almost impossible to put up with such stifling behavior from someone you love, let alone someone you can barely tolerate.

Sylvia, I agree that Fully did seem to exhibit a bit of fatherly pride in Laz when he demanded Jaz's release. As for Nereo, the sooner he dies, the better (did I really say that?)

Hoping for a speedy recovery for Eusebia and that tending to her brings Dam and Marina back together. As you noted, thrilled to see Marina gives the ring back tonight. Finally!

Thank you, Cap'n. Those were damgood adjectives were magnificent. I couldn't stop laughing. My favorite "DamOMGcouldyoubeanyhotter". Yes, I rewound that scene several times. I love Marina in a rare show of good sense - it's so true. What a ditz. I stopped counting at how many times I yelled shutupbea at the tv. But thank goodness for Tia Becky and Jose. I adored the tag team effort.
I was not happy about Madre Eusebia. I can't wait until Nereo and Fully pay for their mistreatment of her. I'm hoping that she is not dead.
I wasn't able to commnet yesterday but thank you to Mauricio for his very detailed recap. I'm so glad that DamDelicious is back.

Good Morning Cap'n! This is a gem of a recap. I love all your Spanish subtitles so perfect!

Tia Becky had me going too. I really thought she was ten sheets to the wind, lol. I really like how she and Jose cooked that up. Too funny! And the look on Bea's face, she looked like she was sucking a lemon, lol.

I can understand Marina's reasoning for being pithed at HisDamHotness, but she is going through with the engagement, really???? And that makes sense because???? She wants to get back at Dam, she's jealous! Emarie is so right about what engagements are for!

Herny will never stop the grabby handy thingy! Diana, I laughed at your duct tape comment. It's so true. If he could use super glue he would. I think deep down he knows that DamShesMineForeva, will never be Herny's.

I really hope that Mercy doesn't do any investing. I hope she really researches before she does. Mags was crying when Mercy was singing. She had just the hint of emotion there and all of a sudden she was sullen again.

Michel Fabre, what a hawt guy I must say. That uniform alone was a big draw in. The kid he gave those papers to was Jose as a young kid. I thought I heard DamFab say it was Jose. I'm glad Mercy has the proof of what Fully did.

Maybe Fully will have a big huge infarto! Now that would be something!

Don't get me started on SHUTUPROSY! Pot meet kettle is all I can say.

I snorted my morning coffee over the communion wine! Too funny.

I too hope that the Madrina is not dead, but only injured. If she is dead, I bet she haunts Nereo and Fully. She probably has the power.

About the disappearing recap, it's never happened to me, but Blogger has changed the size of my type before. It is very irritating especially when you work so hard! But this recap is just marvelous, no need to change anything!
 

Thank you, Cap'n Sylvia for this DamFab recap. Sorry to hear that you had some problems. It has never happened to me before but a good way to prevent losing your work is to copy all that you have written after a few lines. That way if anything happens you will have saved it on your computer and you can open a new document and paste it all that you had written and copied.

Ursula and DamFab did more than makeout in Ursula's erotic dream. Stupid Uni cut the scene. It was a DamHot scene. I'll post a link below for those who want to see the entire scene.

Loved Rebeca, Jose, and Olinto working together to help DamFab get a chance to talk to Marina. I love how the three of them dislike Hernan.

The lad in the flashback that came to pick up the papers was Jose. I chuckled when I saw that they picked a chubby kid to play him.

Loved DamFab telling Fully off and after he tells Fully that he'll pay for what he has done Fully starts feeling a pain in his arm. That's karma for you, Fully.
 

Sylvia- Wonderful recap! We would have never known you had to go back and rewrite a section.

I'm watching my recording as I write this. When did Candy get rid of the wig? Why did Mejia have her wearing one in the first place. Like Laura Carmine, she has lovely hair of her own.

Now that Jaz is free: 1)Doesn't she want to be called by her real name, Lucia, and not by her slave name?; and 2) Doesn't she want to go see her parents and sister, wherever it is they live? Surely, they want to see her.

Sad to hear Uni felt the need to censor a fantasy love scene. Thanks so much Mauricio for providing the link to the full scene.

Yes Emarie is right about engagements but poor Marina does not appear to make solid decisions about Herny at all. That being said, I can't wait 'til she dumps the creep tonight. Diana - your duct tape idea is so appropriate for this sad character.

Has Uni become more prudish with the censors? It seems to me like they used to show a little more when it came to love scenes than what they show now.
 

Mauricio- It really does feel like they have gotten more prudish each year. Just in the four years I've been watching, I feel the difference.

I forgot to say how surprised I was to find out Jose worked for Mercedes ever since he was a kid.
 

Mauricio- It's kind of neat how well the writers have tied all these characters together. I wonder if Jose was an orphan who Mercedes took under her wing, and if we'll hear more of his story. Actually, all I want to see is more of Jose kissing Becky. :)

I'm still holding on to my crazy theory that Becky fled an abusive relationship with the possessive Ernesto, and that's why she's so skittish about relationships now (and has a small drinking problem).

You are so funny and SO captured what this viewer was thinking. William Levy is just the. most. beautiful. man. ever!!! That scene after he made that toast and the camera zoomed in on his face? Wow. I would have a MUCH bigger reason than "you cruelly broke my heart" to turn this guy's teary apology down.

Really, Hernan? You want to go to the ladies room with Marina? Smothering is the perfect word, Cap'n. I hope the avances hold true and Marina really does break up with Hernan the Horrible. His true colors come out when things don't go his way.

Emarie, 'just as it is' is basically the second recap. Only the first three paragraphs managed to save themselves. I almost threw in the towel to go to bed and recap this morning, but I was so pithed off I ended up being wide awake.

Mauricio, I have never had problems with GoogleDocs before but I am going to take your advice and do a backup several times throughout the recap. Losing data? That is so old school as Ursula would say. I have experienced the changing of font that Mads mentioned.

And yes, I LOVED the tag team of Becky, Jose and Olinto.

Cynder, will have to glare another day when I'm not too tired to count the glares.

I actually supported Marina not immediately caving to DamFab. No, she should NOT be engaged to Horrible Hernan, but neither should she just jump into Dam's Manly Muscular Arms in a nanosecond. They have some things to work through, however Hernan is IN THE WAY.

Mads, YES! The kid was Jose! I totally missed that. Good call.

Katy and others, oh yes, it was completely creepy that Hernan wanted to find Marina in the ladies room. That guy has absolutely no concept of personal space.

Vivi, good points about JazLu. I feel funny about calling her Lucia when people in the show keep calling her Jazmin.

I also hope we get some more back story on Tia Becky to explain her behavior.

Sounds like Mercedes might have helped raise Jose, sent him to school, etc. Apparently she's been saving souls for quite a while.
 

It looks like the writers are for sure setting Fully up to have a major heart attack. Certainly, that's too easy a way to kill him. It's also too early and it seems he's going to have the Big One soon. What do we think will finally bring it on? Laz finding out he's his daddy and rejecting him? Seeing Estercita alive and in the arms of his evil old boss? Delfina finally kicking him out of her house?
 

Every time I see Pervy Ernie's place I have to laugh. He supposedly has this huge mansion in the D.F. and he has armed guards with SKI MASKS on the roof. Way to advertise he is a Mafioso. Imagine what the neighbors think. If he didn't have neighbors what is the point of the ski masks? Who wouldn't be suspicious about that, lol!
 

Vivi, I like option #2. I would like to see Fully somehow see Estercita, recognize her, then have his stroke and not be able to do a DamThing about it. He could die or, better yet, lie there mute and paralyzed and not be able to tell anyone. He hates not being in control more than anything.
 

Vivi & Mauricio - ITA w/both of you that Uni is getting skiddish with scenes. Lately network tv in the US is showing almost just as much as that scene.

Vivi - Yes more kissing between Jose and Becky. I also like your theory about her being in a horrible marriage with Ernesto. And yes a Fully heart attack with Sylvia's added being unable to move or speak before one of his friends uses a pillow to take him down sounds great.

Mads - You are so right about Ernie's house and guards. It's so TN over the top ;)

I'm hoping that Ester's child is Dam's although that would be an obstacle to our couple. However, the thought of her having Ernie's kid is a brain bleach moment for me.

Ernie is not father material. The baby is better off being raised by DamFab. Ernie would probably mold the baby to be just like him like he did with Hernan. One Hernan in this world is bad enough.
 

I don't want Dam to be the father. But I do want Ernesto to die, leaving all his money to Estercita/Hada and their child. I don't want any messy entanglements with a child between Dam and Estercita, and I don't want Estercita to die, leaving the way free from Dam and Marina to raise her child.

Mads- I'm going through my recordings from the week, and I totally agree with you about Robles reminding me of Leo in LVO (just not as cute). Robles is really doing a great job.

Cap'n Sylvia - Thanks for a fab recap of a fab episode. Sorry you had to write it twice though. My favorite Dam: “DamOMGCouldYouBeAnyHotter.” That was a James Bond-worthy entrance.

I loved these lines:

Yep, Fully’s proud of his son. How ironic that Fully at the moment is a better papa to Laz than Rosario is a mama.

I don’t get Ursula’s greed/need for money. Did her mom cut her off? Seems like her mom would have as much dough as Delfina had.

Even though it would complicate things for Damian and Marina, I would love for Estercita/Hada's baby to have Damian's full lips. Estercita's seems to be maturing/growing and surely she'll remember that Dam didn't love her and can get along okay with Marina. Well, I can dream.

I’m still puzzled about Macario. He was right. Hada is too far along to fly. Ernesto seems to have acquired Macario and Hernan when they were very young, needy, and impressionable, so they’d be willing to do anything for him. I’m on the fence, but I’m thinking Macario might get redeemed.

I don’t blame Marina for not getting back with Damian right away. But she could *test* her feelings by letting him kiss her a whole lot more.

O.M.G. Fear of Losing an Almost Finished Recap has been at no. 57 on my list of Things to Worry About (replacing Fear of Giving Birth in a Public Place) ever since I started writing for Carayx2. Ay ay ay!

You recovered and then some. This is hilarious. You are incredible.

I am so glad the writers left Madre Eusebia's fate up in the air. She HAS TO SURVIVE! And how is it that the only person who felt anything when she was in trouble was Fulgencio? As soon as he ordered her murder, he got an ominous pain in the left arm. Okay. That's for being a murderous bastard. But what about her DamAjihado? Why wasn't he wine-Skyping his madrina? Huh?

I don't think Jaz can start calling herself Lucía because it would raise questions about her story. Both she and Laz have been told they will be killed if they talk about the dirty business.

I despise ShutUpRosy. I suspect, however, that in the end, the writers will give her a pass, just as they did to the odious (though far more stylish) Alfonsina in the Passion Pits. Mothers get to go to monstrous lengths in the name of protecting their boys. As long as they don't actually murder anyone, they usually end up dandling chubby babies on their knee. Bah.

I'm also glad that Delfina doesn't have any money. That takes the target off her back. It also means that when Fulge has the Big One, she will get her money back. Yay!

As you cleverly point out ("Hernan Hernan Hernan!"), it also means that Ursula needs to land a rich husband. Since everyone assumes DamGenerous is a muerto de hambre (though I have my doubts), she won't be a serious obstacle to our fairytale ending.

A quick note to readers who do not recap: Recapping is hard work and Sylvia is so good to get her recaps up before the next morning on the East Coast. That means she is posting somewhere between 1AM-2:30 AM most days. To lose a half completed recap is pretty rotten luck and it often means pulling close to an all-nighter (college exams, anyone?). Thank. You. Sylvia.

As to the episode, could they have crammed any more into one hour? I think the telenovela compactor is working overtime.

I was terribly disappointed by Madrina Eusebia's fall. I can only hope that she lives to tell the tale and to see Fully behind bars. Nareo is headed for the tree shredder, I am sure.

I love Tia Becky. She is always up to something good, or at least well meaning. She and Jose are darling together.

In addition to his other gifts, we now know that Jose was a darling little urchin when he first began working for Mercedes. That is a charming backstory and would explain his devotion to her.

I know this is not a popular opinion here, but I am still so knocked out by Ivan Sanchez. Were he nor portraying the scary and smarmy Hernan I would follow him anywhere.

I was also struck by the conversation between Hernan and Marina yesterday (at least I think it was yesterday) when they discussed the fine line between love and hate. Could be that Hernan could go over to the truly dark side if Marina gives him a final rejection—after their engagement party. Yikes! That would infuriate me if I were Hernan and I am not an obsessed sociopath!

Thanks again, Sylvia, for doing such a great job under pressure. That is why you, and not Damian, will always be my Capitan.

So yes, mea culpa, mea maxima culpa, I can't hate the old goat...that voice and even that full-bellied posturing enchant me. (Dodging the rotten tomatoes right now.)

However, the other day when he was playing with the children, his smile seemed genuine and I realized with a start that I'd been judging the actor through the character he is playing. Hello all my friends, I just came back yesterday. I missed first week of school and a long list of assignments. Who care ? My CarayCaray first.

When I left, DamFab was about to be arrested. Today I turn on my DVR to be shocked by all the changes. OMG, who is that short hair guy in tux ? Hot, gorgeous, handsome, dashing...I need a English tutor to show me all the words to describe that man.

During my break I went to visit Rome, I saw the Greek God statues, especially Apollo, I could not stop thinking of WL. Let them stand side by side, I don't know who is better.

So glad to come back to see the DAMgoodadjectives get better and funnier. Myfavorite :'DamOMGcanyou beanyhotter'

Niecie, my other neighbor! I agree about Macario and his interesting, mysterious backstory. Somehow Hernan is higher on the pecking order, though, because when Ernie was talking about giving his $$ to Hada, Macario thought bubbled that Hernan wouldn't like that. Like Herny is the heir apparent. And remember when Macario told Herny Estercita was ambitious? I think he knows she could be their wrecking ball.
 

Cap'n, my condolences over lost prose. I've had long complicated comments disappear on me in Caray. Recreating them never sound as good as they had looked in the little box the first time.

However, you have supplied us and Vivien with a whole new shoebox full of DamAdjectives.

Carlos and everybody have recorded the best of the best lines that made me laugh, but Eusebia's confrontation with the bad guys was to die for--oops, better be careful what I say.

Nevertheless, it was a hoot to see her whacking at that bunch in broad daylight and then just as quickly the moon was up and she's operating on psychic knowledge of the woods. Of course Eusebia is going to live. Nereo missed his chance by a tenth of a mile. He should have shot at her and then shot her again from the top of the cliff. Me thinks he was *Undercompensating,* eh?

Susanlynn--I'm no Eusebia (at least not at this moment), but I'm sure that the outcome will be in your daughter's favor.

Vivi--Unless you have some psychic powers of your own, I can't see Becky ever having been married to PervyErnie. She would have been treated to an early grave before getting a divorce from him. She may have been in an abusive relationship, but she made it kinda clear she'd never married--unless she was lying to protect the guilty.

I like the idea of Fully having a stroke and unable to speak, but that left arm thing signifies a heart attack waiting in the wings. At least it'll put him out of commission for awhile. He's going to hate having to take it easy. But we haven't seen him do much except bluster and fume, have sex then strangle an inconvenient girl, and take a quick trip to DF to rip into Mercy. I love Cesar as an actor very much, even in this TN , he is so mean to my hero, somehow I still find him so warm, if you watch the scene he helps his son to free Jasmin .He smiles happily, then changes very quick to the mean ones when he turns around.

Ivan is a very good looking man too, he just plays the bad guy in this TN." Beauty is in the eyes of beholder" . Sorry ladies, to me, WL is much more attractive.

Susana Diazayas (Soraya) had a juvenile lead in Barrera de Amor where she played Aarón Díaz's love interest. As far as I can tell, it's been all downhill from there. [Sergio Reynoso -- Robles here -- was the galán in this remarkable novela!]
 

Anita- Nope, not married to him. Just in a relationship with him. I think someone else added married. I totally believe Becky has never walked down the aisle. But it seems she was in a very bad relationship, and Ernesto seems like the perfect candidate to make any woman wary of ever having a relationship again.

Even though CE is too old for me, I too love him even when he’s playing a bad guy. It’s the voice and the teddy bear quality. I much prefer GQ WL to scruffy WL. Watching my recordings backwards this morning, I was struck by what an improvement the short hair and tux are.

I guess I didn't fully understand what I was reading was the second recap, but it was so...complete and perfect, for writing it the second time. Whenever I have to write something the second time I definately shorten it.

Niecie in MD-Macario knows that having Hada go back to her home town would reveal who she is-via Hernan, this happened a few episodes ago. I can't precisely remember what he knows. He is somehow friends with Hernan. If I am wrong about this can someone clarify?

I love Cesar Evora and Ivan Sanchez They are both wonderful actors and they are doing an awesome job in their roles. I loved that little scene with Ivan smiling at the babies during the passing of time montage. I think Ivan got out of character during that scene.

Emarie, thanks for your kind comment. I find Macario rather fascinating. Sometimes I think he is on Hernan's side. Yet he knows how dangerous it would be to cross Ernesto. Last night I got the vibe that he's not liking EsterHada's importance in Ernesto's life even though he "found" Hada for the old geezer. If I were Macario I would be very careful about getting between Hada and her sugardaddy. Seems to me she's getting cabin fever.

Mejia keeps getting her worse/smaller roles with each tn-- Frumpy Naty (who gets a real winner for a boyfriend- NOT!); Wendy the Whiner; Soraya to ex-Call Girl.
 

They should have paired Naty up with Fabian (Marco Mendez) on TDA.
 

So true Mauricio. Marco Mendez is one of my telenovios (love those eyes), and he's so underutilized. I really enjoyed him in La Verdad Oculta.
