PEAM# 148- 10/3/13- Tracy Rodriguez, The Cougar Arrives on Take Your Baby Robot to Work Day.

Del Pasado:

Chatita and Alma chat about Marcia.  Marcia makes Chatita queasy.  The Avon staff is waiting for Rogue to begin the board meeting.  Jessica ties to inquire about Xochy’s “pregnancy”.

Rogue tells the staff about Tracy Rodriguez’s visit and that everyone better be doing the right thing. DeMonica interrupts that she is pregnant with Rogue’s baby and everyone is impactado.
 El Presente

She has the medical results.  Paty tells Rogue to go to hell. DeMonica brings to everyone’s attention that she is pregnant and someone is after him but Rogue is hers.  Jesus gives the staff a pep talk and that he is sure that for Alma’s sake the staff will work hard and impress Tracy Rodriguez.
Paty storms away and Rogue runs after her.  Paty thought that he was for real telling her that he loved her and kissed her for what?? He is even stopping his illegal activities.  Rogue and Vero are liars and deserve each other.  Vero takes jabs at the fact that Rogue didn’t get her pregnant and the women are ready to go to blows but Rogue stops them.  Rogue doesn’t mind being a father but his baby’s mama is a witch that he doesn’t love.  Rogue is begging Paty to give him another change.   He doesn’t love Vero.  Well Vero lives with you.  It was only to hurt Jesus.  Jesus overhears the conversation and reminds Rogue to have his work facts right when Tracy visits.  Jesus asks Paty how did she take the pregnancy news??  Like a bomb?

Chatita and Alma figure out that the twins may have changed places at the asylum.

The nurse is having a hard time giving Marcia, Marta’s medication.  She is taking the meds, while Marta is enjoying her freedom.  Chatita thought bubbles to how Marta scares her and Marta doesn’t like Chatita because she can tell the twins apart.

Jesus and Jessica chat about how Xochy wasn’t pregnant but Jessica believes that she could have hid the pregnancy in the loose clothing that she wears.  Jesus tries to tell her differently but she lets him know that when she called she heard a baby crying.  Julio overhears Xochy talking to Ferny about the crying doll.  Ferny is on the Avon elevator with the crying doll.  A lady in red pants suit and leopard shoes enters the elevator and asks about the baby’s age.  She asks why the baby is crying?? Did he check the diaper?? Ugh, no.  Fernando is walking around with the crying doll.

Marisela asks Chatita how does feel about her dad and Chatita lets Marisela know that he “floats her boat.”  She hasn’t told Panfilo she feels.  The doctor comes out of the operating room and Marisela asks how is her dad?  The operation went well and little by little he will regain his sight and then his other eye will be operated on.  Chatita makes a joke about a one eyed king.  Panfilo is thankful to have Marisela and Chatita to support him.

Ricardo is having a meeting with a financial official and he is worried because he is paying his bills.    Don Gil takes a call and then tells Ricardo about a will from his Aunt Agatha.  He is the only beneficiary.  She leaves him her house and her bank account with ten million dollars. (Maybe now he can buy a personality) blah, blah. blah.

Sebastian gives Alma a baby basket that is lovely.  He is very excited about being a grandfather.  Alma is talking to the baby. Minerva shows Alma some baby clothes.  Minerva seems very appreciative to work with Alma and comments that the baby is lucky to be surrounded with so much love.

Tracy Rodriguez (who looks like she eats nails for breakfast and then spits them out) arrives and Susana goes into a sleeping Rogue’s office to announce their guest.  Since Rogue is sleeping soundly, Susana takes Tracy to Jesus’ office.  She is not happy to be in the Sub- director’s office until she meets Jesus. Vavavavoom!!!! Tracy has the hots for Jesus and wants to know if he is single, divorced, married or widowed. She is at his service!  Literally.  Jesus wants to give her a tour of the office but she wouldn’t mind a beach or park, unique to Monterrey because he asks her if she knows Monterrey and she admits that she does and then dismisses it.  Jesus, darling doesn’t know what to do. He must not keep a woman waiting and she can take him wherever he wants.  Jesus begs Susana to wake up Rogue.  Jesus takes Tracy to meet Ferny who is changing the baby doll’s diaper. Phew!  Susana tries desperately to wake up Rogue.  Jesus introduces Tracy to Aida and Jessica.  Jessica invites Tracy to the wedding and presents one of her “La Vida Es Un Carnival” invitation.  Tracy stiffly dances to the music and asks if Jesus is going to the wedding.  Yes, he is.  Well so is she!  Azucar!  Rogue pretends to lovingly welcome Tracy and kisses her hands.  She was not too pleased to have him blubbering on her hands with his marked face.  He fell asleep on some papers and had ink on his face and ran out of the office before Susana could warn him about the marks.  Tracy wanted to know if he used company funds to hire the limousine that met her.  Jesus covered for him and said that Rogue paid out of his pocket.  Rogue tries to coax Tracy into the office and she would prefer to be escorted by Jesus.  She asks Rogue, what is that on you face??  Rogue wants to know why Susana didn’t tell him about his face.  She ignores him.  Baby doll Ferny is crying and Jessica is still trying to figure out why Xochy didn’t tell them that she was pregnant.  The new gossip league (Aida, Susana and Jessica) goes to check out the baby.  The doll is covered and burps so they think that it is the real thing, but if the baby is premature then whose baby is it?  Is it Jesus’?  Rogue overhears the foolishness and tells the women to get back to work.  I’m not sure why Jesus’ shirt is under buttoned to his mid chest, but I’m glad.  Something to wake me up in this episode of foolishness.  Tracy is asking questions about Rogue, she is not a fan.  Rogue runs into the meeting and Jesus proceeds with the presentation while Tracy plays footsie with him.  Julio drops a pencil and sees that Tracy is playing footsie with Jesus, who is uncomfortable with the footsie game and runs away to make a call.  Rogue is on his heels.  Tracy is just warming up!!  Ewww!  Jesus tells Rogue that Tracy is flirting with him.  Rogue doesn’t believe him.  Rogue doesn’t want to get Tracy angry or have Avon suffer by getting a bad report so he wants Jesus to go along with her.

Ferny is still walking round with the doll that is now laughing.  He tells Xochy that the baby is happy to be near his mommy.  Xochy reminds him that robot don’t have free will and then he proceeds to hand the doll to Xochy.  Susana calls Xochy, which scares her and she drops the doll.  The secretaries think that it’s a baby.  As usual Xochy acts like a fool and Ferny picks up the baby.  The secretaries can’t believe that Xochy is so insensitive, she’s a bad mother, shut your mouth, (I couldn’t resist) and I can’t believe that I’m watching this.  They want her to take the baby to the hospital and she tries to tell them that it’s an electronic baby.  The secretaries are impactadas.

Sebastian puts headphones on Alma’s stomach so that the baby can listen to classical music.  Jesus calls to see how Alma and the baby are.  Tracy, the supervisor from New York arrived.  Jesus can’t lie.  She is attracted to him and she tried to seduce him.  Alma wants to know how does he know and she is not too pleased.

Coming attractions:
The Veronica War heats up; she is going to do something stupid at Jessica’s wedding.  Great and Tracy, the supervisor from New York will be there!

More like a saber tooth, if you ask me.
Is she that professional (desperate), representing the ''internacional headquarters'' in NY?
I am sure they sent her because she was the youngest one, the one that didn't need a walker!!

I am starting to like this TN again!
Tracey, here I go! Fasten your seatbelts!

Oh, and don't even get me started with jesús' fleshtoned stockings that improve his blood circulation!

You are so hilarious, Pablo. I'm cleaning up the recap and it will up in a few.
I pictured Tracy to be much younger but I was wrong.
I was surprised that Jesus even wore socks.

I didn't have anything else to do and I decided to watch tonight's episode (but I had to get a phone call, so I only watched until the foot flirting).

To each its own, but to me this issue is ridiculous. She is way older than I expected, she is completely out of any etiquette throwing her underwear (as we say in México) to Jesús. I am ashamed of her behavior and I don't work for Avon nor I am a woman. She should give herself some respect. There's a place and a time for everything and she missed them.
If I were Mr Wilson and I were not dealing with Dennis the menace, I would say:
Tracey, you're fired!

Octavio (the monkey): please stop it with the bong, this TN has less and less sense every day, thanks!

You are right it was a ridiculous episode but I'm glad that you watched.

TJ- You did a great job with this ridiculous episode. Gracias. So much filler! Wow! Getting rid of Elias must have really screwed with the story.

We last saw T-Rod as the very formal/uptight aunt of the heroine in Dinero. This is a very different role.

Thanks ! Vivi
I couldn't take the silliness of Dinero, so Tracy is new to me.

Tablet Jefa, what a great description of Tracy ( eating nails, etc. ) and recap. Tracy is nothing that I expected. Rather old and tough.

Pablo, I think you have called it right with the changuillo. Now, that he is back home on the rancho it will probably just get worse. LOL

I liked that Alma is learning how to embroider.

Jesus did a good imitation of Rogelio.

Jarifal

TJ:

Thanks so much for this fab recap! I really loved your little asides and the title, how fab!

I have to say I really enjoyed this epi. Tracy turned out to be a hoot, doesn't want to deal with Rogue. I liked the footsie thingy the best.

The headphones on the baby bump was quite cute liked Alma talking to the baby too.

Don't get me started on Moronica and know Pato knows all about the preggers Moronica. If Rogue really wants Pato back, he needs to atone. I think he really will care about his child, but never Moronica. Moronica thinks she has him at her feet, but she better think again.

Poor Marcia. I knew it wouldn't take long for Marta to start acting all BSC. The deal with Marta and Marcia was that Marta would come back daily to see her. I think now Marcia knows she made a mistake. I wonder how Marcia will get out of this.

I really liked T-Rod in DA. She played the horrid Isa's Mama. This role is quite different for her. I too saw her in Dinero. I think she ought to stick to comedy, she is really funny : )

Hi everyone, just now catching up on this week's episodes and recaps. Where did the week go?

Cheryl, I am speechless at your incredible photo. Best of luck at the juried show. I can't imagine such an amazing photo not being accepted. Oh, and great recap too.

Julie, loved your recap and one of the cleverest titles ever!

Pablo, as usual you had me laughing out loud. You have such an original mind. Thank you for recapping this show that annoys you.

Miss JudyB, I am honored that you would put me in the same guy-phrase category as Pablo. Someone once told me I talked like a sailor. Imagine my shock.

Tablet Jefa, who says you can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear? Silly episode, hilarious recap. Way to go.

I think it's a scream when Jesus apes Rogue. He's actually a very good mimic.

Thank you all, and yes, thank you Jarifa and Madelaine Jesus mimicking Rogue was hilarious.

Thanks TJ. This was hilarious. You have a way with the wacko epis.

I hate the idea of the Tracey plot -- but I love what she is doing with it. Funny how our tastes differ. Dinero was one of my favorites ever -- though it took me a while to get used to the cartoonish characters. I enjoyed this actress then and I like her in this one.

The plot that is driving me crazy is the robot baby thing. It was really inane. I certainly hope that when Xochi dropped the robot it didn't confirm her suspicions that she has no maternal instincts. Fern was cute with the fake baby -- even if I think the plot is stooopid.

Yes I love it when Jésus mimics Rogue.

Güera

Thanks, TJ! I feel like all the storylines are descending into utter chaos. Thank you for helping to keep them straight.

I was okay with the robot baby, but not Jess et al going crazy thinking Xochi had given birth overnight. There are many reasonable explanations for someone suddenly having a baby in the house, and some of them might even be funny; but "oh I guess they had a baby all of a sudden" is not among them. Sheesh!

On the other hand, I can't stand the Tracey subplot. I think the actress is doing a great job, but I'm tired of watching this guy fend off horny women.

I did laugh at something last night, though. I just can't remember what it was. I think it was actually something Chatita said or did. ("In the land of the blind, the one-eyed man is king." That wasn't the one that made me laugh, but it was a well-chosen quote!)

Hey! Ric is rich. How about that?? Maybe Mari will get her rich guy after all. If her mom is still alive and is the gold-digger that's been implied, maybe this will bring her out of the woodwork!

Oh my. Firstly, thanks so much for this hysterical recap TJ. I think reading this was way better than watching it. Truthfully, I was going back and forth between the show and the Browns game, but I caught enough to make my head hurt.

Guera agree-baby plot is stupid and just another of the monkey band's idea of throwing in something silly. Don't like it.

As for Tracy, this is the best they could come up with for a new plot? Been there, done that and done that and done that. Can we just park the "every woman wants Chucho" plot lines. We got it.

Vero must absolutely salivate when she hears the word "wedding". Her favorite place to make an a** of herself and ruin everyone's day. Poor Jess and Card. They don't deserve this.

Daisynjay

Waaiit a moment.

I forgot that there is a missing and long lost mother in this show. Didja notice how flustered Tracey got when she displayed knowledge of the city and someone called her on it. "Oh, you are acquinted with NuevaLeon?: She got a deer in the headlights look, answered yes quickly and changed the subject.

Could she be more important to the plot than we realized? Not (sigh, yawn) just another woman who wants to jump Jésus (admittedly stellar) bones.

Of course I'm prone to speculating about upcoming plots points which never pan out. So maybe I'm all mojada.

Güera

Güera, good thinking there! I wasn't watching very closely and completely missed Tracey's insider knowledge of the city. Could be, could be...

Guera:

You weren't wrong. It was Chucho that remarked if she knew Monterrey, and she got the deer in the headlights look. It was too funny. The only missing Mama is *gasp* Maricela's. Could you picture Panfilo and Tracy????? We'll have to see!

Mads, I'm thinking attractive and love-starved executive working late, handsome young custodian or perhaps office worker, they regularly come into contact after hours. Yep, it's possible.

*smacking self in head* I never even thought of that. Güera, I sure hope you're right!

I've been waiting all this time for Mari's mom to show up, and when a likely candidate finally shows up, all I can do is complain that I'm sick of the horny lady subplot! LOL!!

Nice to know the writers can still sneak a really good surprise past us once in a while!

Panfilo in his younger days: Scroll down and check out Antonio Medellín

Tracey in her younger days: Norma Lazareno

Case rests.

This missing Mom plot is so interesting. Panfilo had been a garbage man all his life it seemed, until the foot injury, where he almost lost it. I was under the impression that Panfilo and Mari's Moms were married. I don't know if they ever mentioned divorce. We just know she left him for a richer guy.

Speaking of Xochi's Dad again, remember that promo they did of the trenchcoat, well they still haven't shown who was in that coat so to speak. I wonder if that little promo was out of sync like they did with UFCS. They were famous for doing that with that TN.

Cap'n

Thanks for the links. Wow, Antonio Medellin what a hottie! And Norma, she could really dance and so beautiful. I can see it too ; )

To quote you Mads, "Just sayin'".

Thanks for the recap! I like the title, too.

That would be too perfect if Tracey is Mari's mother. Maybe back when she was with Panfilo, she was a secretaria, then she left for a rich guy and worked or canoodled her way up the corporate ladder?

I always roll my eyes when telenovela businesspeople feel like they have to go along with TOTALLY inappropriate behavior to keep their bosses happy. What if the boss is testing you to see how you deal with tricky situations? Maybe they want to see if you can firmly shut something like that down without being rude or whatever. What boss wants a wimpy doormat representing his or her company? You want someone who can be gracious yet assertive!

I did actually find Tracey pretty funny. It would have been a total yawn if she was yet another hot young thing, but since she's much older (yet still attractive), it's somehow funnier to watch Chucho try to fend her off. I hope it doesn't go on too long, though.

The baby thing seems like total filler. These fools can't think of any other explanation for Fernando to be dealing with a baby other than that skinny tiny Xochi, who never had a boyfriend until just recently, was somehow secretly pregnant? I'm sure Aida would have been smarter, but she's just barely met these people and had no more information than what the ditzes told her.

Yeah, now that you mention it, she was asked if she knew how to change diapers and she made a face like she was remembering something she wanted to forget... one thing is sure, she ain't no ''miss''

TJ: thanks for the recap. Helps me to decide whether I need to rush to see this ep. Not so much. It seems like filler week, to me.

Just caught snippets last night—I’ve been busy nearly every evening this week, so haven’t had an opportunity to watch any eps.

If they can introduce a new character (even if it is only temporary) this late in the game, they can introduce a better man for Pato.

Wow!! (as Vale would say). Ricardo inherited a fortune.

I’m looking forward to seeing Jesus’ imitation of Rogelio.

Julie: “I'm tired of watching this guy fend off horny women.”—amen!!!

Tracey as Mari’s mama???? Interesting.

OT: Is anyone watching Corazon en Condominium on Azteca? Flaco has been watching and I caught a bit of it last night. I might make that one my next one (even though I’ll have a 7 week overlap with PEAM-ugh!).

Nanette

You all beat me to it. You had me thinking and add me to the camp of Tracy being Marisela's mom.

Tks Tablet jefa

I have to say I would probably be just like Tracy if I ran into guapísimo FC.

People en Español's poll voted FC as best protagonista 40%. Even though I love him, this isn't his best genre & I voted for Rafael Amaya, El señor de los cielos. People love their FC.

I just wish they would pair down this novela a bit. Love my FC though.

Did I say I love FC?

Why not have a Valentina doll made and stuff the electronic baby (seriously, is there such a thing...?) inside it. See if that will satisfy Marta's urges.

Great suggestion, Mike! FauXimena could live with Marta in the manicomio, and everyone would be happy.
