PEAM #149- 10/4/13: I'm From Missouri, Show Me! or Indecent Proposal Avon Style!

Hola, Peam Peeps! This recap will not be in order, por supuesto! I like to kerfuffle nah, not that, the recap just flows better. It is hotter than two chickens in the oven today, and I am so very lazy.

We have the old news of Panfilo's eye operation, Chatita is now with him and I swear, his eye patch is see through. Why couldn't they have given him a cool pirate one? Arrggghh!! The one he has on, looks like what the Governator in El Zorro, El Espada y La Rosa wore! Anyhoo, they declare they still luuuurrrvvvve each other and Susana is now history for our AARP Babe Magnet.

Xochi doesn't want to hold that little robot baby. She isn't into it, so to speak. She is not Mama material in other words. Ferny loves the little Fernadito, and is taking good care of him. When she explains to the Secretaria's it's a robot baby they are que, que, what? Later, Jessy holds the baby and she is quite good with him also. Loved Ferny changing the diaper. Anyhoo, later Xochi is getting in bed, and is bothered cause Ferny is still canoodling with the robot baby. They argue a tad, Xochi so doesn't want a baby right now, it's a bother, and the baby starts crying. Who knew robot baby's could pick up on Mommy and Daddy not being cool with each other? The long and short of it is, Xochi wants some shut eye, Ferny has to care for the baby on his own. He is quite good at it, and looks like he really loves this baby.

On the opposite side of town, Alma has headphones on the bebe belly so the bebe can listen to classical music or rock! I vote for pop! Chucho is calling to tell Alma about that cougar Tracy and what happened. Alma happens to have her profile up and is kind of giggling. She tells Chucho that Tracy will be doing a report and please be kind to her, in other words treat her well, but professionally. Chucho will go with the flow, but not the hitting on him. Alma asks if Tracy knows that Alma is preggers and Chucho's finace? Nah, not so much. Alma tells Chucho to invite Tracy to dinner. Chucho hangs up and prays for what to do. Julio comes in and does a spot on impression of how Tracy is looking for her Chucho Dahling! Too funny. Julio doesn't know who's worse, Tracy or Augusta, ha! Chucho goes.

Rogue and Tracy are still meeting. She has a lemon look on her face, like how did I get stuck with this bozo, when her phone rings. It's Alma inviting her to dinner. She informs Tracy that Chucho is her finace, and the bebe Daddy and will be happy for her to come to dinner. Sebas has the strangest look on his face, did anyone notice? Dinner is at 8:00 this evening. Rogue overhears and laughs and Tracy is all over Chucho when he comes back in.

She needs a new drug, one that will knock her out! Marta that is. She is going BSC about whether Chatita really knew she was Marta. There is even a split screen, and it's like, yes, she did, no she didn't, nanny, nanny, boo, boo. All I can say is poor Marcia!

Rico Suave has come back from the notary and gives Mari the news about his inheritance. She thinks it's really a joke. He explains about his Aunt Agatha's will, the house, the millions of moola, in pesos I beleive. She is just so happy for him. She even says no manches!

Tracy is leaving to go change for dinner and tells the guys, that would be Rogue and Chucho that the finances for this branch of Avon is fine and dandy. Rogue will see her at Jess' wedding. Chucho will be bringing her.

Rogue talks to Pato, who isn't very happy with him at the moment, ya know the Moronica preggers little thingy. Pato's answer to his dying declaration of love, I'm from Missouri, show me you love me, you got a week! *Note to Pablo* If there is a place in Mexico like Missouri, please let me know and I will insert that here in the recap!

Meanwhile, Cynthia and Moronica are having a chat, long and short of it, Cynthia has noticed how jealous Moronica is whenever Pato is near to Roger, in other words, she thinks Moronica is really in love with Rogue! Poor little Val comes. She wants a hug and a tuck into bed. Does Moronica comply, nah, not so much. She yells at Val for interrupting her convo with Cynthia, and by the way, Cynthia isn't liking what Moronica is doing to Val. Moronica tells Val to tuck herself in. Can she at least have a kiss, yeah, so Val kisses her Moronic Mama no returning kiss. Can I slap Moronica?

Tracy is having tequila at Alma's. She and Alma are having a little convo. Alma tells her that it will be seven months more before she has the bebe. I guess we will get a major time jump soon. During this convo Chucho gets a phone call from Val. Val tells him how very rude Moronica was to her and that she didn't get a tuck in or story for that matter. Chucho listens and has smoke coming out of his ears, he is very pithed! He wishes her a good night, besos and he'll see his princessa tomorrow and you can bet he'll have a nice long talk with Moronica! While Chucho is on the phone, Alma and Tracy have a little chin wag, chewing the fat, a convo in other words. Tracy can't stand that little toady Rogue! He's sooo fake! Tracy is very astute. She does however, really like Chucho! Alma tells her they are getting married, and Tracy says, Que Lastima! Alma asks about that report Tracy is going to do? It will be professional. Tracy thinks to herself she is so jealous of Alma, but the report will be professional, but she could always change her mind!

Chucho has escorted Tracy outside to her car. Tracy sure likes her some Chucho, so much in fact, she hits him with the Indecent Proposal, ya know, sleep with me one night, and I'll give you a Million Bucks! Cash money! Chucho is such a good egg with her, and in his gentlemanly way, turns her down. She even threatened him with consequences, but he explains to Tracy he is really in love with Alma. He also tells her she is a smart and wonderful woman. Tracy tells Chucho that her work is her life, she has nothing else. She is very alone. She cries and goes and Chucho rolls his eyes.

Chucho tells Alma all about the Tracy proposal, the million bucks and Alma jokes around with him and asks him if Tracy had proposed a 3 million dollar deal would he have taken it? Alma giggles and Chucho tells her okay, okay that's enough now. Chucho tells Alma about how Tracy was crying and how upset she seemed. Chucho is all dressed up to go to Jess' wedding and since Alma is on bed rest she can't go. Chucho will be taking Val and Tracy.

Funniest scene of the epi. Jess is all ready and very beautiful I must say, in her wedding gown. She is at Cardy's with his Mama and poor Cardy is over there in the corner with a paper bag over his head, so he doesn't see Jess in her wedding dress. Genevive reminds Cardy it is bad luck to see the bride in her wedding dress before the wedding. Jess is concerned cause she still hasn't heard from her parents!

Also very good scene. Roger is getting ready for Jess' wedding and Moronica has been abed and is half asleep until she finds out Pato will be at the wedding. She can't beleive Roger is actually going to an employee's wedding and that that vulgar receptionist will be there! Domi comes in and tells Moronica that Chucho would like a word! Moronica says just send Val down to him, Domi says nopis, wants to chat. So she goes. Moronica gets downstairs and Val is already with her Papa Chucho, Domi packed her a bag, cause Moronica didn't bother. Moronica is way snippy with Chucho, cause he lets her have it about her mistreating Val, and he is not, eva gonna put up with that. Roger comes down and Moronica is trying to forbid Chucho from taking Val at all. She is trying to slam the sliding glass door on him. For once Roger tells Moronica to cut it out, stop trying to break the door and Val is going with Chucho. He really isn't siding with Chucho so much as to pith Moronica off. Chucho also reminds Moronica she can't forbid him Val anymore. Moronica is one pithed off beyotch!

Ferny is bringing little Fernandito to the wedding. Xochi raises her voice the little robot bebe cries!

Pato has come to visit Alma before going to the wedding and tells her the ultimatium she gave to Rogue and about the preggers Moronica. Alma is floored! Alma wants to know what Pato thinks of that? Pato is pithed, she has tried so hard to resist Rogue, but she's so weak, and confused and in lurrrvvve. But he still has a week!

At the Church, Tracy has arrived and Rogue spots her and asks if she is looking for Chucho? She also asked after Rogue's girlfriend. He kind of fields that question. About this time Chucho arrives with Val and introduces her to Tracy. Panfilo and Chatita come in too and are introduced to Tracy, rats, there is no reaction with Panfilo and Tracy. I was hoping ; )

Padre Domingo is officiating at this wedding, who else, and Cardy has his red face going, the guys tease him, and Rico Suave just has to say that marriage opens a door to heaven or hell, poor Cardy! He gets even redder.

Jess looks awesome, I must say! She is looking gorgeous! She is very nervous and is worried she still hasn't heard from her parents and since she hasn't she ain't gettin' married y punto! She wants them to walk her down the aisle. The girls are with her, even grumpy Xochi, and Rogue comes and asks if he can help, can you beleive it? Rogue says he'll walk her down the aisle. Chucho has come outside to see what the hold up is and also offers to walk Jess down the aisle. Rogue isn't happy but he takes one arm and Chucho takes the other and away they go down the aisle.

Meanwhile Moronica is getting all dressed up to crash Jess' wedding. She is all in red, she is the devil she is! She just won't have the satisfaction of Pato having her Roger, no siree bob she isn't!

Pato comes to the wedding, all casual, of course, and Chucho has to tell Rogue to keep it together.

Finally, Rogue and Chucho escort Jess up the aisle when suddenly there is a call of Hija, and Jess turns around and runs to her parents. They are not what you'd expect, Jess must be adopted. She is so very happy to see them and huge hugs. Val remarks they are blonde and Pato says Casual, End of Epi!

Avances:

Pato and Rogue are dancing and about to kiss and guess who shows up to cause trouble?

There is a cat fight!

Oh, we are now in Ultimas Semanas (Thanks TJ)

Tune in Este Lunes and Ms Cheryl will tell you all about it! MUST SEE TV!

Hola Y'all. Working on the recap and fighting off the vapahs, nah, not that, but it is unseasonably hot here today. Please comment away. Lo siento for the wait.

Madelaine, Oh please don't apologize for your art. It takes time to develop and it will be appreciated.

The recap is up y'all please enjoy and thank you so much TJ : )

Madelaine, thanks for the fun recap as usual. :)

The Tracy character is adding some needed comedy. I like when she says "Dahling."

I also liked the ending with all of the "looks" when everyone sees Jessica's parents.

Jarifa

OFF TOPIC:

For any Jaime Camil fans out there: I saw his movie "Pulling Strings" yesterday at my local AMC theater and it was a real cute romantic comedy.

Jarifa

Thanks Mads. I just came back from calling hours for a friend who died too soon, and your recap was a welcome lift. When you said "it's hotter than two chickens in the oven" I felt like my Forks of Elkhorn, KY mom was back with me. Her favorite expression was "It's hotter 'n BillybeDamned" but I love yours as well.

Did NOT want to watch this last night but my Columbian friend insisted and I'm glad she did. I actually found Fernando's antics with the baby funny, and I sure needed to laugh.

And the writers certainly faked us out with Jessica's "secret". I don't think any of us came up with that, did we?

When I was a reporter, I interviewed severalwhite families who had adopted bi-racial children, but as I understand it now, that is no longer allowed...in the United States anyway. African-American sociologists believed that it would cause an identity crisis for the children in those families and that the confusion between cultures would ensure that they would never fit in anywhere. And put a stop to the practice.

But perhaps the pendulum has swung back the other way again.

I agree that Jessica looked stunning. And I was quite charmed by Rogelio intervening when Veronica tried to stop Val from attending the wedding. He certainly earned some redemption points with me last night.

Thanks dear Mads. This was great.

It was 7:45 pm and Jéssica's parents hadn't arrived yet, so sure, they have to fill 15 minutes with juárever because the element of surprise had to be shown at the last nanosecond.

What I found disgusting was the use of the song'' capullo and sorullo'' as a background during the family hug. Even when the song is about a white family with 8 white kids and a black one, it is also implied that the women cheated 8 times and the black one was the ONLY ONE from her husband!! Of course in the song is meant to be funny, but not in the context of Jéssica's home.
What's is wrong with Octavio?

Hi Madelaine, thank you for the fun recap. I'm sorry you are sweltering in the heat, but for me your recap was a breath fresh air. I loved your Show Me theme, I have many relatives in the Show Me state.

Oh my, Indecent Proposal, I almost fell backwards at Tracy's proposal. Poor thing, she must be desperately lonely. But her offer was, how shall I say it, ill-conceived. I liked Chucho's solution, to escort Tracey to the boda but to bring Valentina as an escort. I thought it was funny when Val told Tracey she was Chucho's daughter from another woman. Tracey's face was classic.

Pablo, I looked up the lyrics of Capullo Y Sorullo and I admit to being confused. I wondered was I missing something about the plot? Reading your comment I'm thinking maybe I didn't miss a plot detail, but that they just chose an inappropriate song. Sadly, I've noticed these telenovelas do not care about being PC on any level.

Thanks Mads! I agree with Judy in that I was slightly charmed by Rogue sticking up for Val.

My thought about Rogelio voicing his opinion about Valetina attending the wedding, he was happy to get rid of her for awhile.

All I can say, damn, wish I had a few bucks to entice FC.

Tracy needs a computer with internet access. For that kind of money she can get more and better juárever she is looking for ;-)

People get to that certain age when they can only give two things: pity and/or money. Poor Tracy and her lacking of self-esteem...

Thanks, Madelaine, and lo siento about the heat. Seriously, it was 89 here in southeast Virginia this afternoon.

Tracy has added a much needed shot of Tabasco to this show. Her proposal to Jesus reminded me of a Brit story about a gentleman at a dinner party who asks the lady next to him if she'd sleep with him for ten thousand pounds. "Why," she replies, "I daresay I would!" He then asks, "Would you sleep with me for, say, five pounds, then?" Indignantly she replies, "Sir! What do you think I am?" To which he rejoins, "We have established that, madam, and are now simply haggling over a price."

But I digress.

I'm really fed up with Fernando and Xochitl. Neither strike me as mature enough to be married. He's grown a freaky obsession with the Electro-Brat and her impatience with him is really none too loving.

Jarifa, thanks for the review of the Jaime Camil movie. Emilia and I plan on seeing that, too.

Thanks so much, Mads. This was crisp and funny -- and I like the way you organized it.

I too was sorry when Panfilo & Tracey met & there was no drama. I was sort of thinking that she would be the long ago runaway Momma.

I loved the scene where Rogelio intervened on Chucho & Val's side. I also liked the snarky way he told Moronica that he still hates Chucho he just hates her more. Redemption -- but oh, so slow.

All in all this was a fun episode.

Now that the surprisingly blond parents have arrived let the wedding commence -- and the dancing to follow.

Güera

I was hoping to find Jaime Camil's movie at the cineplex. It was supposed to open on Friday. But this is Syracuse -- so of course it's not showing here. I guess I'll go add it to my Netflix queue.

Güera

It was worth the wait, Madelaine.
Ferny will make a wonderful dad, but they are taking the robot baby storyline too far.
Pablo- I was surprised at Tracy's low self esteem, being such a powerful woman and all. It was sad.
We are in the ultimas semanas- yay!

Madelaine, good re-cap...

I don't know where you live, but here in Central Va. it has been "as hot as the dickens" like my grandmother use to say.

I am getting caught up on PEAM now..(I have been in a Bassfishing tounament the last three days, up at 3AM in the bed by 7PM)

Okay, everyone at the wedding was surprise to see Jessy's blond (white) parents. But they were alright with Xochi's fake black baby... hmmmm something's not right here...oh well go figure.

Jessy had to have been adopted, but someone commented here that maybe her mom got next to the milkman... FYI in TV land, the "milkman" is always white. The "mailman" is black, and the "gardner" is Mexican.

Don't know about the song with the
lyrics 8 white and 1 black, other than maybe Jessic's has white siblings..

Judy B., are you sure white couples cannot adopt bi-racial kids? That doesn't sound like it's legal, and if white couples can adopt black kids, what's the difference. Sure bi-racial, or African-American kids will have a cultural shock, by that's not life threatning to them. (The biggest problems white couples have with bi-racial, and black kids is they can't deal with the hair, as we commented here earlier.)

This TN is crossing some lines that may be a first. they are taking on two of the three no no's of being politically correct...the no no's are; stay away from race-religion-politics. ( I was a Sales Rep. for 30 years, we learn this in Sales Rep. 101)

BTW, they probably didn't have two dark-skin actors to play Jessy's parents...

Off Topic: JudyB, we got a BYE this week, and next week we play the much hated Cowboys. Go 'Skins,

That could be true. Most afromexican people are concentrated in areas like Veracruz, and such, but there's only like 2 or 3 families in the show business. Laboriel, Marichal and Zamora are the only ones that I can think of. Everybody else, has to be powdered with instant coffee. There was a time when mexican cinema had to hire cuban actresses when the coffee was scarce. Back in that time it was probably not offensive to see Martitza Olivares with black face.

Lee, I'll definitely be rooting for the Skins next week. On the vetoing of white families adopting bi-racial or African-American kids, that was a decision taken in the 1970's. Things may have changed since then. But it was a hot topic back in the early 70's when I was a reporter. These families had adopted their children earlier, so they were all 4 or 5 years old.

Good Afternoon Y'all and thanks for all your kind words.

Lee:

It was me that made the comment about the milkman, I didn't know what that meant, so I have removed it from the recap. I didn't want to offend anyone, and I truly apologize.

Juan Osorio and Salvador Sánchez did not apologize and they were the ones who created that mess. I am sure they meant something worse that the ''milkman'' assumption. I felt uncomfortable with the background song because implies unfaithfulness and this TN is at least supposedly, ALL ABOUT FAMILY and VALUES. If Jéssica's mom didn't cheat, why the song then? Because it's in the style of the ones she likes? There's gotta be hundreds of better choices that that bad taste song. Anyway, I don't think you have offended anybody. Time will tell Jéssica's origins, juárever they are.
I felt worse when I saw Tracy, all power and money trying to prostitute her co'worker assuming that just because she is old and lonely she can buy anybody. Where you eat you don't sh*t. There are places where she can do what her primal instincts forced her to do, without having to upset your work environment. That is for sure way more offensive. All the bra burning and fights for this? Tracy, you are old enough to know better, way old!

No, I am not THAT UPSET, this stupid captha thing ''forced'' me to enter it twice arguing that the first time I did it wrong. Sorry!

Hey Madelaine, you did not have to remove the comment, because it was not offensive.... I was just making a point, that TV roles have been stereotyped in the past, and the milkman, mailman, and gardner tend to have been sterotyped by TV to be of a certain race.

Judy B... In the State of Va. interacial marriages were illegal until 1967. I would imagine interacial adoptions were illegal also... But with interacial couples being legal, I am sure there is no law against bi-racial adoptions. Sandra Bullock, Angelina Jolie. Jillian Micheals, are some of the many White Actresses that have adopted black children...Here is an article on just this subject; http://www.essence.com/2012/09/17/white-mama-black-baby/
----------------------------
JudyB. I am watching the Denver vs. Dallas game now... I don't like Denver, but I hope they beat the shoulder pads off them cowboys...

Well, I do like Denver..because I like Peyton Manning (he used to play for Indy, my once-upon-a-time hometown) so I'll join you in rooting for them to beat Dallas.

Madelaine, your comment wasn't offensive. At least to me. We say that same silliness all the time.

Lee, what about the "pool boy"? (joke)

Hey Cap'n, In TV land, the pool boy is Anglo-Saxon (Switzerland or Austrian etc.)

The Butler is: English or Black
The Maid is: Latino or Black
The Cook is: Asian or White Female
The Auto Mechanic is: Southern White Male
The Plummer is: Northern White Male
The Electrician is: White Male
The Doctors, Lawyers and Policeman are all: White Males.

(Before anyone cries foul, and list exceptions, this is for laughs only, not meant to be taken seriously- I base this sterotypical list on my assumptions only. No facts used here at all.)

This started when Mads said that Jessys mom must have gotten with the milkman, and I simply stated thay in TV land the milkman is usually white, and Jessys mom more likely got with the mailman because they are usually depicted on TV as being black.

Life Goes On..... And So Must We.

Speaking of Maids, one of my friends was trying to lure me into watching DEVIOUS MAIDS and I could only take one episode.
I don't know anybody in California who could verify that all that actually happens, because if it's true, I am moving there and working as a maid!!
They're treated (and look) better than family.
Imagine Roslyn Sanchez, a live in maid inviting her black boyfriend for a sleepover and then both roaming the house in their underwear, then the boss wakes up in his underwear too and they all giggle and make small chat. LOL

Really?

Thanks to things like this, other things like PEAM start to look a lot better.

Thanks, Madelaine! Hope you survived your vapahs! Can I send you some Seattle chill? Loved the "Show Me!" theme.

I thought that song was inappropriate when I heard it (the parents characters seemed nice, and even if there was some infidelity why does that have to be their theme music?). Really? Like there aren't any number of reasons she could have white parents? Adoption? One is a step-parent? Artificial insemination? I know a lot of white people with nonwhite or multiracial kids.

I'm pretty sure there's no law against interracial adoptions anymore. Multiracial families are becoming the norm.

I'm looking forward to the wedding reception. Jess does know how to have a good time! I also like that she didn't make her bridesmaids wear hot pink.

Fernando and Xochi are both being immature. Why is he so hot to have kids ASAP when they've only been together such a short time? They should adjust to married life first! Although Xochi already seems to have turned into a nag. Maybe they need to go to counseling and rekindle the romance already.

I'm liking Rogue's few gestures of decency, but he's going to have to work a lot harder than that to convince me he's worth Pati taking him back.

Hey Pablo, I got hooked on Devious Maids, I would watch it "ON Demand". The storyline wasn't that bad, and the Maids were "sexy as hell". I look forward to that show returning next summer.

Thanks for the fun recap, Mads! And great shout-out to Huey Lewis & the News. :)

I'm with the rest of y'all -- enough already with the crying, pooping baby-doll. That is the stupidest plot device I've ever seen, if indeed it is a plot device.

Big thumbs up to the Grecian bridesmaids' gowns.

I think Devious Maids is fun.

The baby that is not really a baby is not all that much fun. I'm tired of it. Haven't we got enough baby storylines on this show? Although Alma and Chucho's creepy clown baby needs to be quiet until it is actually born, too. I hope we get a time jump to advance the plot soon.

Mads: thanks for the great recap.

Loved Cardy's little Jessica dance when he wasn't allowed to take the paper bag off his face.

Liked how Rog handled the Jesus/Vero/Val situation, even if it was to get under Vero's skin. He was respectful in how he referred to Val: "Valentina", "nina".

Saw some extra previews while watching MQB. Hoot of a scene--if it plays in the show like it did in the previews.

Nanette

Good Afternoon PEAM Peeps,

I survived the vapahs, lol, it was so hot, still warm by fall standards here, but we are supposed to have a major cold front come thru and then we will be back to normal.

Believe it or not, I really wasn't aware of the stereotypes about milkmen, mailmen, etc. I just removed it cause I don't like stereotypes, personally.

Lee,

I'm glad you put up the list. I really wasn't aware. Maybe I don't look for these.

Pablo:

You are so right about this mess the writers created. I have never seen a TN with such blatant stuff before. And the way they have treated Valentina thru this whole TN. I have to tighten my beanie.

JudyB:

I send you virtual hugs and warm thoughts to cheer you.

Cap'n:

When Pato said Rogue only had a week to prove he loved her, I immediately thought of Missouri, they are the Show Me state. I've been to visit St. Louis before and saw the Magnificent Arch. Oh, yeah Tracey's face about Val being Chucho's by another woman, that look was priceless, lol.

Mads, you'll never meet a stubborner (their words) bunch than my kin who live in Blue Eye, MO. They use "Show Me" as just another excuse to be mule-headed.

JudyB: Sorry for your loss. Take care. Hugs.

Jarifa:

I do like the Tracey character. Her dahling is too funny.

Variopinta:

Val was going to the wedding too, I think Rogue just wanted to pith Moronica off by looking like he was siding with Chucho for a change.

Mike:

The conversation about the Brit story, was that a PBS Brit Com? I do watch a lot of them. Can you tell me which one it was?

Guera:

I was disappointed too about Panfilo and Tracey, I was really hoping. But I noticed that Sebas had the oddest look on his face when Alma was speaking to Tracey. I wonder what was up with that?

Julia:

I would love some Seattle chill. My favorite seasons are fall and winter. I also don't get why Ferny and Xochi have to have a bebe right away. They have only been together a short time. I wish they would show more of their fun side again. There are too many bebe story lines already. I too am looking forward to the reception. Jess does always have a great time, and I want to see some more dancing.

Blue:

Thanks for the shout out about Huey Lewis and the News. Marta is way beyond BSC. I worry for Valentina and poor Marcia still locked up in the manicomio. I don't think Marcia is bad at all. I think she was just trying to help her sister. Marcia made a bad mistake. I wonder if the Doc will figure it out eventually.

Nanette:

I too was surprised by Rogue kind of siding with Chucho. I think deep down Rogue actually likes Valentina cause she stood up to him, and he wasn't expecting that. I think Rogue will be redeemable by the end of this TN, but he still has some ways to go to make amends and to atone for his misdeeds.

Cap'n:

Years ago I dated a guy from St. Louis so I know exactly what you mean about mule headedness, ; )

I wonder if Tracey is the woman Sebastian had an affair with who took all his money!

Julia:

I never thought of that! He did have a girlfriend that did that. Hmmmm.... maybe that will pan out.

So, in other words, Tracy es the one who killed Alma's mother? Unintentionally of course, jajaja

The reception should be loads of fun -- I noticed in the previews that Jess puts on the Big Bird dress again.

Mads: I was thinking that too about Rog and Val. I think they actually have a bit of respect for the other. I think, except for the beheading (very uncalled for), it's been kind of a fun game for the both of them. Though they'd never admit it!!

Dear Mads, Thanks for your awesome recap. What a great vehicle for fascinating conversation this weekend. Sorry I am late to the party but Balloon Fiesta keeps me sleep deprived and it just started Saturday. We are graced with near perfect weather so far.

I think the stereo types are pretty boring, on all fronts, race, gender and age related. And robot baby needs to get lossed with Alma's giggling fetus. Basta!

So Jesica's parents look rather prosperous for poor Cardy to have to pay for their travel expenses?? What non-sequiter are the silly writers thinking up now? Will they be deadbeats? hmmm.

See you in a few hours, and hurray for Ultimas Semanas.

Loved Rog telling Veronica that he can't stand Chucho, but he HATES her!

Hey, Mads, I think I tracked down the dinner party conversation to George Bernard Shaw, per Wikiquote at http://en.wikiquote.org/wiki/George_Bernard_Shaw

Shaw: Madam, would you sleep with me for a million pounds?
Actress: My goodness, Well, I'd certainly think about it
Shaw: Would you sleep with me for a pound?
Actress: Certainly not! What kind of woman do you think I am?!
Shaw: Madam, we've already established that. Now we are haggling about the price.
Similar remarks are also attributed to Winston Churchill, Groucho Marx and to Mark Twain.

In México we have something similar when a guy ask another guy if he would go to bed with him for ''x amount'', let's say, 1,000 dollars.

The second guy agree and the first one says, see? anybody could go gay, all we need is budget.
