La Tempestad, Capítulo 80, Friday, November 15, 2013: El Gran Final: Time Wounds All Heels*

*Groucho Marx

An Evening of Suicide, Madness, Murder, Redemption and Romance

The Acme Anvil truck pulls away from a high-rise construction site on the outskirts of Our Lady of the Sea.  It has been a busy few days for Acme, and the demand for its foolproof product is still brisk.

Esthercita, fueled by a potent cocktail of booze, pills, self-pity and resentment, teeters near the edge of the concrete slab and glances at the abyss below.  Marina has already wrested baby Michel away from her.  Esthercita has one final bit of venom to spew:  Little Michel is the son of Ernesto Contreras!

Before anyone can stop her, Esthercita steps off, falls dizzyingly through space and ends up broken and bloody on the ground.

The Acme truck speeds off.  Next!

Hernán emerges from the bathroom of the psychiatric prison wearing the orderly's uniform and badge.   The orderly himself is left in the bathroom, badly beaten, maybe dead.

BOING

Hernán strolls right past the security guard at the employee exit, waving casually at the man but never looking back at him, while he fantasizes about Damián's demise.

[Interesting.  American elementary schools have better security than this maximum security psychiatric facility.]

Ursula is waiting for him in the get-away car, the one she stole from her Aunt Delfina.  He jumps in and she peels out.  "Together forever, my love," she says.

"It doesn't matter what your mother said, you're my son and you always will be," Damián tells little Michel.

Ursula is sure that she and Hernán will be safe in the hotel in Cozumel.  After all, she is registered under a fake name.  Hernán wants to get rid of the car right away.  Ursula has other priorities and soon the two are rutting away on the orange and pink sheets.

A FULL TELEVISA MOON

The Waking of Esthercita Salazar
No matter how worthless you may be in this life, if your mama outlives you, she will mourn you when you die.  And so it is that Delfina wails inconsolably over her daughter's coffin.

Ursula thinks of everything.
Along with the keys to Delfina's car -- he's going to dump it -- she hands Hernán a gun so he can protect himself.

We were wrong about Fulgencio.  He does have a heart -- and now it is breaking
He removes his Panama hat and looks into his daughter's coffin.  He feels guilty for her death. He was a bad father.  Delfina reminds him that Esthercita was her only child but that he still has a chance to be a good father to Lázaro.

Damián gets a call from Robles: Hernán has escaped from prison and Ursula is with him!

Hernán rejoins Ursula at the hotel.  She is anxious to leave México.  Hernán, however, insists on going back to Our Lady first so he can kill Damián Fabré.  Ursula doesn't like it -- it's too risky.

Dam offers his condolences to Delfina.  He asks Fulgencio if he can speak to him for a moment. He wants the truth about what Esthercita said just before she died:

Who is baby Michel's real father?

Fulgencio confirms: Ernesto Contreras was the child's father.

We have a little problem...
Wow.  Hernán has a new look -- dark, greased down hair and full black beard plus glasses with tortoiseshell frames.  He and Ursula are in a different hotel, this one closer to Nuestra Señora del Mar.

Marina and Damián admire their babies.  They know Hernán is loose but they figure he must be far away from them by now.

He's not though.  Cause he's craaaaaazy.  And Ursula is plenty mad now that she's figured out that Hernán is really hanging around Our Lady because of Marina.  Sure, says Hernán readily, he lied about Marina -- he wants to see her to get even with her -- but the part about wanting to kill Damián is true.

Hernán pulls Ursula onto his lap.  If only they had met before...they are so much alike..."but we have a little problem..."

POW.  A gunshot sounds.

Ursula looks stunned.  A tear rolls down her cheek.  She collapses.  We see Hernán holding a gun against her belly, now bloodied.

BOING

The Acme Anvil truck tears out of the parking lot of the hotel.  Next!

Hernán addresses Ursula's lifeless body:
"...Marina is the only woman I could ever love."

He gives her a final kiss on the lips.  He is free.

****Mads  says: So Ursully just had to give Herny that gun didn't she!  Because of that weapon she ended up dead along with her Tio Fully, isn't it ironic, don't you think?****

Damián and Marina enjoy a romantic interlude in a remote site. Picturesque ruins.  A carpet of petals.  A flash of shirtlessness.

Quiero en tus manos abiertas... ♫

A Double Wedding

Padre Tomás marries Candy to Lolo and Lucretia to Olinto.  As is often the case in nature, the males are far more eye-catching than the females, Lolo in his flamingo pink ensemble, Olinto in his matching aquamarine number.

While the padre is delivering his wedding sermon, Dam assures Marina that there are no storms in their horizon.

[Please. Even the Acme Anvil guys are laughing at these two.  And on The Patio? They're wetting their pants.]

That night...

Valentín and Magdalena dine together.  Val is going to be staying in Nuestra Señora del Mar, he tells Magda.  Dam and Marina have offered him a job at Neptuno as psychologist and counselor.

The next thing you know, Valentín is on his knees and whipping out a ring:  ¿Quieres casarte conmigo?  Magda accepts his proposal.  The other diners applaud as the lovers kiss.

While in another nightspot in Our Lady, José opens a champagne bottle with a resounding pop, then pulls out a small box for Rebeca.  She is surprised by its contents -- a set of keys?  Yes, for their new house!  Oh la la!

Abigail Tells Lucía the Truth
...that Lázaro was never unfaithful to her.  It was all a dirty trick engineered by Fulgencio.  Abigail is leaving town because she knows that Lázaro will never love anyone but whiny Lucía.

Now Becky has a surprise for José:  "We're pregnant!"
(¡Estamos embarazados!)  Yay!

Damián hands Mercedes the escrituras (deeds, legal papers) for the empacadora and explains he was able to get the property back when the government auctioned it off. (It had been seized, along with Hernán's other holdings, at the time of his arrest.)

Whiny Lucía tells Fulgencio he can keep his house.  And he's not going to see his grandson anymore.  He's the same old desgraciado he always was!  (Although she is starting to sound a lot like rigid, resentful Rosy.)

Ever crazier Hernán sets up camp in a house outside of town.  Uh oh.  Hernán has gotten his hands on standard-issue telenovela jugs of highly flammable petrochemicals.  He peers through the bars on the windows of the house and twists his jaw.  Now it's time to get Marina!  Bwahahaha!

The news of Ursula's murder reaches R-Lay-Dee

Delfina may be the only one who can still muster up a little pity for her late niece.  She turns down Fulgencio's offer to spare her a trip to the morgue to identify the body.  She wants nothing more from him -- all he has given her is pain.  Her money is the only thing Fulgencio has ever cared about.

He pleads with her -- all they have left is each other.  He's wrong, she says.  He has no one.

Now she's going to use her money to do good -- she's setting up a foundation to help needy children.

Fulgencio begs:  "Don't abandon me!"

But for Delfina, Fulgencio no longer exists.  Let him make his peace with God.

She walks out resolutely.

Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they're not after you.
Mercedes is frantic.  If Hernán killed Ursula, he is capable of anything.  Marina downplays the danger.  After all, Damián is there to protect her, and there are men watching their house, on the lookout for Hernán.

But it is Lázaro who spots Hernán on the street, not fooled for a minute by the silly beard and glasses.  Laz leaves the suitcase he has been shlepping and runs after Hernán.

Fulgencio confesses his sins and dies a hero

Fulgencio stops by Mercedes' office in the empacadora and confesses the truth.  He did kill Dam's father, Michel Fabré.  In part, it was because Michel had discovered that Fulgencio was a crook; but mostly he did it out of jealousy -- if he couldn't have Mercedes, then neither could Fabré!

Mercedes isn't surprised, but she is still horrified by his words. She doesn't want to listen to him anymore!  ¡Vete!

He'll go.  And Mercedes won't have to hear him or see him again.  Adios para siempre.

Lázaro has caught up with Hernán and follows him into the fishery warehouse.  Laz calls out to him.  Hernán wheels around and pulls out a gun.  Laz grabs for the gun, and the two struggle.  Hernán overpowers him, retrieves the gun, and aims it at Laz. "I should have done this before!" he says.

But before he can squeeze the trigger, we hear an anguished "NO!"

Fulgencio rushes Hernán from behind and pushes him to the ground.  The gun goes off but the shot is deflected, hitting Laz in the shoulder.

Fulgencio straddles Hernán and punches him over and over.  "I told you not to hurt my son!"  He gets him in a chokehold and squeezes.  ¡Muérete!  (Die!)  Hernán goes limp.

Fulgencio hurries back to check on Lázaro.

[The Patio screams at him -- Don't turn your back on Hernán!  But does he listen?]

Not dead, Only resting
While Fulgencio is attending to Laz, Hernán springs to his feet, picks up the gun and aims it at father and son.   Laz sees him first. ¡Cuidado! he yells.  Fulgencio moves fast for a big man.  He swiftly blocks his son's body with his own.  Hernán shoots to kill, hitting his target three times; then he puts his glasses back on and runs away.

Lázaro cradles his dying father in his lap.

Meanwhile Padre Tomás is scolding whiny Lucía for her unwillingness to forgive Lázaro.  (Why is she still nursing a grudge?  Oh yeah, that's right -- Lázaro doubted her.)

Don't die, papá!
Fulgencio knows he was a bad man and a bad father.  But he is proud of Laz and Lucía and his grandson.  He begs for Laz's forgiveness.  Láz says he is the one who should be asking for forgiveness for being so arrogant (altanero) and so proud (soberbio) with him.

Por favor, perdóname, papá...

Is that a smile on Fulgencio's dying face?  Now he is gone.

The familiar Acme Anvil truck pulls out of the warehouse so quickly it nearly collides with the Redemption Wagon trying to exit at the same instant.  Next!

Rosy, Delfina and Olinto join Laz, who remains with his father's body.  Delfina kneels down beside him.  "If it's any solace," Laz tells her, "my father asked for my forgiveness before he died.  He did a lot of harm in his life, but he was sincerely repentant at the end."

Delfina holds out her hand and grasps Laz's, now stained with his father's blood.

Marcelino is the new Alicia

Hernán appears to have broken through the security around Marina's house.  He sneaks in, gun in hand, and grabs her from behind just as she is preparing a bottle for little Mercedes.  She flails wildly, as he drags her out the door.  NO!

Marcelino finds Dam on the street.  "I'm sorry!" he tells Dam.  "Hernán came and he hit me..."

"Marina!" cries Dam and runs off.

Hernán is dragging Marina along the beach to the water's edge.  While she is trying to fight him off, she drops her white and blue scarf in the sand.  They reach the powerboat he has waiting for them.

Damián brings Becky up to speed -- Hernán is on the loose and he just killed Fulgencio.  He is sure to be gunning for Marina.  Dam runs off and José is right behind him.

Oh crap.  These two again.
Lázaro lies unconscious on a stretcher in the clinic, his wounds neatly bandaged.  Whiny Lucía asks him to forgive her -- she loves him.  When she starts to walk away, he reaches out and grabs her arm:  "Don't go!" He's fine -- he just wanted to hear her say she loves him.  Because he loves her too.  Yeah, yeah.

Together for the rest of our lives, my love
Hernán has gotten Marina to his house in the woods where he has her tied to a chair, his bandana a makeshift gag over her mouth.  And as if that weren't bad enough, her mascara is a smudgy mess.

"Here we are, my love!" declares Hernán with manic cheer.  It is their destiny to be together.  Forever.

He removes the gag but refuses to untie her from the chair.  He knows she'd only try to escape.  This way, he can keep her in a golden cage and they will both be happy.  He is loco, she tells him, and she begs him to release her.

DamFab finds a clue!
He sees Marina's scarf on the beach and then notices a loose rope, a dock line perhaps.  Aha! Without a thought for his elegant brown leather shoes, he leaps onto a motorboat conveniently tied up nearby.

Marina Tries to Ride out the Storm
Hernán flies into a rage -- how does she expect him to let her leave? -- and Marina cowers.  Then he seems to calm himself.  He comes very close and talks softly about how happy they are going to be.

Hernán knows firsthand how painful it is to grow up without  parents, says Marina. Does he wish that on her daughter?

Ouch!  Hernán turns away from her and puts his fingers in his ears, the gesture of a rebellious young child.  Then he kneels before her and whispers:
Mi amor, no vas a volver a ver a tu hija.  Nunca.  Nunca.
(My love, you are never going to see your daughter again.  Never.  Never.)

Marina would rather die than be separated from her daughter.  Hernán doesn't want to hear that -- he killed Ursula because of Marina.  He'd give his life for her.

He rages, he weeps, he clings, he begs, he howls at Marina to shut up.

Marina is beyond fear.  She screams:  "You can't separate me from my daughter!"

Shut up!  Shut up!  Shut up!

He picks up his violin and begins to play.

Don't keep me away from daughter!  I don't love you!  Do you hear me?  I hate you!

Robles joins the search party.  Mercedes puts her helicopter at his disposal.
[Let's hope someone remembered to fill the fuel tank.]

Night falls.

The Acme Anvil truck has been waiting patiently.  But frankly, the guys are having trouble keeping their focus.  This is their last delivery before they leave for the big Anvil Manufacturers' Convention in Minsk.  And if they get there late, they'll miss the caviar and borscht Singles Mingle.

Hernán tells Marina about the Marina doll and the long talks they had together.  She used to say they'd end up happy together.

Hernán is pleased that Marina is calmer now. He rewards her by untying her hands.  He goes to the kitchen to get her some water.  As soon as he steps away, Marina somehow gets hold of a phone and punches in Dam's number.

Damián?

Where are you, Marina?

Oh no!  Hernán catches her before she can say another word.  He is furious.  He shoves her to the floor.  You are going to be mine!

He picks up one of the jugs of gasoline and begins to splash the liquid around the room.

Marina manages to untie her feet and tries to run away.  He holds her back.  We're going to be together for the rest of our lives, my love.

Hernán tosses a lit kerosene lamp into the splashed liquid.  Flames fill the room almost instantly.  Marina struggles. The madman won't let her go.  He pulls her onto his lap -- they're going to wait for death together.

Damián sprints toward the burning house. and screams through the bars on the window: Let her go!

Hernán sees his rival and fires several shots in his direction.

POW!  POW!  Marina will never be yours!  POW!

He pushes a heavy table against the door to keep Dam from entering.

Child's play for Damián!  He hacks through the door with an ax, run inside, punches out Hernán, grabs Marina, and leads her out to safety.

Hernán makes no attempt to leave.  Pescador, he cries out to Damián -- Make her happy!

Marina and Dam glance back only briefly, then continue walking away from the flames.

We see Hernán completely engulfed in the inferno of his own making.  He is still playing his violin.

The Acme Anvil truck is done for the night.  Now it's off to Minsk to frivol with the guys!

We still think of it as Bea's House
Mercedes welcomes Marina home -- ¡hija de mi alma! -- and puts her baby daughter in her arms.   For one dark moment, she thought she might never see her again.  José and Becky look on, their relief and joy obvious in their faces.  Magdalena is in her room, muy angustiada (very distressed) [And also because, you know, setting up these twin shots is a drag.]

Mercedes thanks Damián for rescuing her daughter.  Then she tells him about Fulgencio's confession.  He was, indeed, responsible for Captain Michel Fabre's death.  Dam takes this in soberly.  Little Michel breaks up the sad mood, however, by reaching out and playing with his papi's chin.

Días después

Nosy Rosy begs Lucía and Lázaro to forgive her for being an evil witch.  They do.  She swears by the Virgen that she will abide by Laz's conditions: she'll respect Lucía and their son and not meddle in their lives.

[The consensus on The Patio is that Rosy is very lucky that the Acme Anvil gang are off partying in Minsk.]

Padre Tomás thanks Delfina for helping the poor.  She tells him she plans to devote the rest of her life to helping children who are sick, or needy or homeless.  It will help her forget her own pain.

Ciudad de México
Mercedes invites the family to her nightclub and dedicates her performance -- and her life -- to them.  We see Dam, Marina, Magdalena and Claudio sitting in the front row.  José and Becky are also in the audience.  But in the cheap seats.

A New Day Dawns in Veracruz and it is Time to Tie the Knot
Claudio has done a small sweet thing for Dam, something a real father would do for a son:  he has made a loose Windsor knot in Dam's necktie.  All Dam has to do is slip the tie over his head and tighten the knot.  The occasion is very special, of course.  It is the long-awaited wedding day of Marina and Damián.

"I love you like a son," says Claudio as he hands the younger man a portfolio of papers.  It is his wedding gift.  Damián Fabré is now a partner in the shipyard.

Dam tells him the gift is too much.  Claudio disagrees.  In fact, one day everything he owns will pass on to Damián because he has named him his heredero universal.  Dam may not be his son by blood, but he is Claudio's son for all the reasons that matter: for affection, for respect, for admiration of the man he is.

They clasp hands in the manliest fashion and head off towards Damián's happiness...

...which is, of course, the wedding!

The whole cast is there -- that is to say, those who have managed to survive to this last chapter.  Dozens of extras line the main street of Our Lady of the Sea.  The paper banners (papel picado) over the pueblo are white today.

Everyone applauds and we hear the joyful sound of marimbas as Marina arrives in a horse-drawn cart.   Becky helps her out.  Dam is there to welcome her.  At last, they and their children will be happy together.

Valentín and Magdalena entrust Michel (now a toddler) and baby Mercedes to Delfina and Consuelo so they can catch up with the wedding party.

There is a brief 3M hug -- Mercedes, Marina and Magdalena!

The wedding party walks down the aisle.  Then everyone turns to see Mercedes escorting the bride to the altar.

[Marina's dress is a lacy concoction, pretty enough.  The Patio agrees it doesn't measure up to the stunner she wore at her last (sabotaged) wedding.]

They recite their vows.  We hear Padre Tomás say:

What God has joined together, let no man put asunder.

You may kiss the bride.

Everyone in the church stands and applauds. Every face is smiling.

The stunning couple walk out of the church into a shower of white rose petals and the applause of the adoring crowd.  The wonderful sound of the local music fills the air.  The crowd cries out:

¡Beso! ¡Beso! ¡Beso!

They kiss.  More applause.  Marina tosses her bouquet and Aunt Becky catches it.

That night...
Mercedes gives her blessing to the couple whose love has proven greater than la tempestad.

"Weigh anchor!" (leven anclas), calls out Claudio.  It is time to set sail!

Marina and Damián wave to the crowd on the shore from where they stand on the deck of La Tempestad, now festooned with flowers.  They are holding their children, Michel and Mercedes.

Fireworks dazzle all along the shoreline.

And off they go, this little family, buoyed by a sea of optimism and platitudes.

Fin

*Editor's note:  I fibbed a little when I said that the final anvil was meant for Hernán.  The Acme Anvil truck actually carried one with our name on it and managed to drop it right over The Patio.

...Bwahahah, we'll cut their little telenovela off at the knees!...

Fortunately, The Patio's Low Expectations rendered the anvil harmless.  It fell into the Gulf of Mexico -- with a splash, a ripple, then nothing at all.  Of course now The Storm Cellar™ is left with 4,876 TempeeRubberDuckies which, sadly, will have to be remaindered.

And now a little extra feature --
People on The Patio has a final chat with some of our favorite characters from La Tempestad.

NovelaMaven:  Capitán Damián Fabré, were you ever offended by all the Patio chatter about your appearance?

[DamFab looks down, chuckles softly, then turns his bedroom eyes on his interviewer.  NM reddens and drops her notes.  When DF crouches down to gather up the papers, a blurry cloud forms behind him, obscuring the space between the waistline of his jeans and the hem of his body-hugging t-shirt.]

DF: Whew.  Okay...hombre, all I ever wanted was to be with the woman I love...

[DF's voice is a breathy whisper and NM has to lean in close to hear him.  In doing so, she nearly falls off her chair. DF puts a warm, steadying hand on her shoulder and helps her recover her balance.]

...and maybe make Hernán Saldaña eat dirt.

[NM Clears throat and fans herself with her notes.]

NM:  Interesting.  As you know, Hernán is here on leave from the fiery depths and we'd like to hear his perspective.  Hernán?

[HS frowns.  He appears to be thinking hard.  Then without warning, he leaps from his chair and fills The Patio with his high-pitched manic giggle.  He contorts his mouth, and smacks his face so hard we fear he may dislocate his jaw.  He pulls down his tight orange pants and moons the audience, too quick even for the blurry Univisión cloud.  He bounds down the steps and disappears into a sulfurous miasma.]

[NM shrugs and moves on to the next character.]

NM:  Welcome, Mercedes Artigas!  You must be pleased with the way things have turned out...

MA:
I...
I...
I have suffered very...
Much. I did what I did to save their...
Lives.
Now they have forgiven...
Me.  At last they understand...
Me.
My beloved daughters.
My...
Daughters.
Alicia has been at...
My side during my despair and she can attest to --
Alicia?  Alicia?
Where is that damn woman anyway?

NM:  Doña Mercedes, didn't you know?  Alicia has moved to the Big Apple. She is Univision's newest film editor! I'm surprised you didn't recognize her hand in the version of La Tempestad that aired in the United States.

MA:
Truthfully.
No.
No.
No.

[MA walks off The Patio, shaking her head in puzzlement.]

NM: Claudio Petrone, you entered the story rather late but still managed to endear yourself to The Patio. We did wonder about one thing: What's with all the Italian phrases?  And the odd accent?  You were born in Veracruz, right?

CP:  Mamma mia, Signora Maven -- if you had to talk about fish all the time, you'd come up with some shtick to amuse yourself too.

[CP flashes a gleeful grin at his fans on The Patio and carefully adjusts his silk ascot.]

NM:  And that's a wrap, folks!  Wait -- I sense something odd and wonderful...

[Madre Eusebia's essence makes itself manifest. The serene white-robed figure floats over to Damián, places a hand on his chiseled chest and lets it rest there just a second too long...]

Comments:
This has been fun. What a great team and group of commenters we've had here. Poor little novela -- if this chopped liver version was still kind of fun, imagine how good it might have been…

Thanks, guys! See you in Robó!

Thanks, NovelaMaven, for this fabulous wrap up. Loved the anvil trucks and the the anvil guys frivoling in Minsk.

The papel picado banners actually had Damien's and Marina's names embedded in the design. Too cool!

The post-game interviews were excellent and hilarious. Thanks to all the recappers for turning Uni's evil tricks into intelligent gold.

NovelaMaven -- Thank you thank you thank you so much for this wonderful recap! It was a joy to read. I loved the Anvil Acme Truck and the interviews at the end were a nice treat.

"Damián and Marina enjoy a romantic interlude in a remote site. Picturesque ruins. A carpet of petals. A flash of shiftlessness."

I loved this scene. The uncensored version was hot. Was it edited on the Uni version?

"Marcelino is the new Alicia"

So true. Marcelino and Alicia should get together. They'd make a nice couple. They are both useless.

"Oh crap. These two again."

This had me laughing out loud. And it is so very true. I'm sure there are many of us that were thinking the exact same thing.

Rebeca & Jose -- I'm so glad Uni included their scene. I loved hearing about Rebeca's pregnancy.

Magda & Valentin -- I'm so glad Magda had a happy ending. I loved how this TN handled the twin storyline. They could have very well made Magda bad but no they made her good and gave her happy end.

Such a shame Uni cut out the double wedding of Lolo & Candy and Olinto & Lucrecia. Btw, if you are wondering who Lucrecia is -- she is the Ex Town Beyotch now turned good.

I loved the wedding. It was nice seeing DamFab and Marina finally getting married after having survived so many storms. I loved the final scene on the ship with them and their kids.

My thoughts on the villains end:

Fully -- I felt bad for him at the end. Sure he was bad but he did truly care about Laz and Pester.

Ursula -- What can I say? She got what she deserved. She knew perfectly well Hernan was nuts and yet she insisted on being with him. I was not expecting her to die. I figured she'd do some prison time for killing ZUlly and for having been Hernan's accomplice.

Hernan -- Burning to death while still playing that darn violin was ok but I wish the writers would have come up with a more creative end for him.

ShutUpRosy -- She lucked out. It would have been nice to see her get shunned by the entire town.

La Paloma,
Thank you. I'm really happy you enjoyed the recap (I wasn't sure how the anvil guys in Minsk would go over).

"The papel picado banners actually had Damien's and Marina's names embedded in the design."
¿verdad? I missed that completely! I'll have to take another look.

Mauricio,
My pleasure! This was actually a fun one to write.

Was the little romantic interlude censored? I think maybe a little. I was pleasantly surprised to see that it was included at all.

I was pleasantly surprised to see how nicely the threads of the plot were resolved in the end. I especially liked Fulgencio's eleventh hour redemption. (I'm sure some will disagree.)

So this is it, I am having a LT severe withdrawal symptoms. I feel like my lover, who I love so much, suddenly cuts short our relationship and leaves me without explanation. Last nite, I watched the letter FIN slowly appeared on screen and felt the deep sadness.
I do not know what miss most, WL , the show or the blog ?

WL is the only reason I watched this show , I had never seen any TN on TV until I saw that NONAME Latino actor on DWTS. I do like this actor. Then I discovered another treasure, CarayCaray blog.

I became addict to reading the recaps, even I rarely wrote the comment. I learned a lot by reading it, besides English, I learned the American culture through the humor of the Recappers

Thanks to Gloria, Mauricio, Captain Sylvia, Elna June, Madelaine and Novela Maven for spending much of your precious time to capture all the small details of the confused, bad edited show and change it to a wonderful novel. Thank you a million times.

Diana, Susanlynn, Capt Silvia, Vivi
You've always said nice words to me, you've encouraged me to write more even though you barely understood my English.

Especially thank you, Anita, for taking your time to compile a very, very long list of my favorite DAMISM'S list, another treasure of mine.

To other commenters, Aunty Ann, Tablet Jefa, Emarie, Demetrios ....So glad we all have great minds, we do think the same.

And to UNI,
I did order from Storm Cellar a huge trash bin of Middle fingers, special delivery to your CEO and Editing department.

Vivien

NovelaMaven, this recap was perfect, you have out done yourself. "As is often the case in nature, the males are far more eye-catching than the females, Lolo in his flamingo pink ensemble, Olinto in his matching aquamarine number." I wish I could have seen that scene.

Does anyone know why this story was punished? They didn't even have a special afterward! Except for the brilliant one NM did in red at the end of your recap, thank you! Your comments about Alicia, she was the editor, now all makes sense!
ACME truck as in the Road Runner and the Coyote, si? Viva la DamRoadrunner!

Thank you all the other recappers for your hard work! Gloria, Mauricio, Cap'n Syl, Elna June, Madelaine. And ITA, Vivien, thanks to the delightful commenters that make this so much fun.

Some thoughts of my own:

Delfina told Fulgencio, "You have my forgiveness, now you are dead to me make your peace with God." The TN writers clearly do not know what forgiveness means, I guess. Case in punto: Lucia.

And, ♫ Quiero en tus manos abiertos... ♫ . Umm.
Does that mean "I love your open hands" ?. This is why I hesitate to recap.

I'd like to rhapsodize some more on your recap NM but must go to another Saturday seminar, ugh.
Later!

"[Please. Even the Acme Anvil guys are laughing at these two. And on The Patio? They're wetting their pants.]" Now there's some humor that really resonates with an aging female and a sagging pelvic floor! Amen!

Some other favorites:

"will never love anyone but whiny Lucia"

"Oh crap. These two again."

"...buoyed by a sea of optimism and platitudes."

So true.

Now as to the final interview...LOVED EVERY SINGLE FRICKIN' WORD! Just a treasure.

This morning, I'm enjoying a computer room with normal temperatures, no workmen, no drills, hammers and inconvenient leaves dropping into my house like flies. And savoring your recap.

Want to thank all the fabulous recappers on this one: Gloria, who persisted in spite of migraines; Mauricio who understood our Levy Lust and provided us with plenty of pics and videos; Cap'n Sylvia whose wicked sense of humor unleashed our own; Elna June, whose imagination and verve always surprised and delighted us; NovelaMaven, whose humor and writing ability I envy. Yes ENVY! But it's not getting me anywhere so I've decided to just sit back and enjoy it. And I always do.

YOU ALL ARE THE BEST! DITTO FOR THE COMMENTERS. WHAT A COMMUNITY! AND A POX ON UNIVISION SCISSORS! (okay, still working on Forgiveness Issues, obviously.)

Emarie,
You're very kind. And thanks for sticking with this despite Univision's best efforts to drive us all away.

As for that line from the song, maybe without the embarrassing typo (manos abiertas), and with a little context, you'd have had a fighting chance. The whole line is:

Quiero en tus manos abiertas buscar mi camino
"manos abiertas" is literally "open hands" but I think here it's easier to translate it as "open arms"

So the line means something like: I want to find my way into your open arms.

Here's the rest of the song Hoy tengo ganas de ti with a very flat-footed literal translation:

Fuiste ave de paso, y no sé porque razón
me fui acostumbrando, cada día más a ti

(You were a bird passing through, and I don't know why
I was getting accustomed to your presence, every day more)

Los dos inventamos la aventura del amor
(The two of us created the adventure of love)

Llenaste mi vida, y después te vi partir
sin decirme adiós, yo te vi partir

(You filled my life, and then I saw you leave
without saying goodbye, I saw you leave)

Quiero en tus manos abiertas buscar mi camino
y que te sientas mujer solamente conmigo

(I want to find my way into your open arms
and [I want] you to feel like a woman only with me)

Hoy tengo ganas de ti, hoy tengo ganas de ti
(Today I want you, today I want you)

Quiero apagar en tus labios la sed de mi alma
y descubrir el amor juntos cada mañana

(I want to quench the thirst of my soul in your lips
and discover love together each morning)

Hoy tengo ganas de ti, hoy tengo ganas de ti

No hay nada más triste, que el silencio y el dolor
nada más amargo, que saber que te perdí

(There is nothing sadder than silence and pain
nothing more bitter than to know that I lost you)

Hoy busco en la noche, el sonido de tu voz
y donde te escondes, para llenarme de ti

(Today I seek in the night the sound of your voice
and where you are hiding so I can fill myself with you)

llenarme de ti, llename de ti

Quiero en tus manos abiertas buscar mi camino...

Vivien,

I understand. It is going to be hard for all of us to soldier on without sweet William.

But please don't leave us! You may find yourself falling for Sebastian Rulli, also a very beautiful man.

And we'll be here to welcome you -- with open arms! (or do I mean "with open hands?")

I'm delighted you have enjoyed this whole experience so much.

Miss JudyB,

It is a relief to know your house is put back together and that you have access to your computer once more. It's a crying shame when the real world keeps a person from the virtual one.

Me meo de la risa = I'm peeing myself laughing (Just in case you ever need to say it in Spanish)

You know how I feel about the JudyB seal of approval, so whew! It's ok then. Thank you so much.

You are so right about the whole team: Our fearless leader MADS, Gloria Monday, Mauricio, Sylvia and Elna June -- what a terrific bunch. But it is the give and take of the DamFabulous and DamFaithful commenters, that makes it really fun.

Gracias

I didn't comment much on this one because it lost my attention for most of the middle. However, great work on this finale.

I thought Hernan's fate was totally appropriate. Imprisonment wouldn't have served because he could certainly have escaped again. Despite the shorter rap sheet he was even more insane than Fernando of FELS.

NovelaMaven-Your recap was an absolutely great way to end this adventure we have been sharing these few short months. Loved the interviews at the end. You always capture the essence of our characters perfectly. I will miss these characters and I will miss your fun recaps.

To the LT Recapping Team: Mads, Mauricio, Mi Capi Sylvia, Gloria, Elna June, and NovelaMaven—Uni has often played tricks on us- two hour episodes, time changes, etc. But rarely does an entire recapping team rise so amazing to the challenge. I so appreciate that you all took the time and effort to watch the 2-3 episodes that Uni put in the blender to make one hour of mishmash. We would have been lost without you. Thank you for sharing all your various talents with us, and your amazing wit and humor. Mauricio- You were a recapper newbie, but you took this on like a pro! Thank you for coming so quickly out of the shadows to become an important part of the Caray Caray family.

As for the finale--- The only end I wasn’t pleased with (reading, since we didn’t see it) was Nosy Rosy. She deserved to be shunned. I get that Laz-Lu are all about forgiveness now (after wasting umpteen episodes not understanding what the word means). But if my mother-in-law tried to make me miscarry, tried to get another woman to seduce away my husband, and then told my husband and the town that I was having an affair with my father-in-law and that my baby was his…well, let’s just say we would have to live in separate towns from then on.

Hernan and Fully had tiny glimmers of redemption at the very end—Fully finally confessing the truth to Mercedes and finally letting her go, and then saving his son; and Hernan in the very last seconds of his life finally letting Marina go and wishing her and Damian happiness.

Ester’s end still makes me sad, but her story arch made sense and so did her eventually suicide. Ursula’s story arch made no sense, and so her end seemed senseless to me. She should have ended up in jail to have many decades to think about how she let her obsession with a man destroy her and other’s lives.

Wish we had seen the wedding of Olinto and Lolo (any chance of a video Mauricio?). Anyone else worried when we saw Becky drinking champagne with Jose and later at Mercedes’ club, after she announced she was pregnant. I think she might have been pregnant at the wedding, but they kept shooting her upper body, so it was hard to tell. I might look up cast pictures of the finale to see. Daniela Romo looked great by the end. Loved how her real hair was styled once it had grown in enough to ditch the wig (which was a good one). She looked great in that white outfit in the club.

All in all, an entertaining finale. I was pleased and satisfied. I wish Uni had shown two hour blocks to show the full final four hours and just pushed PEAM’s finale to Friday, instead of Wednesday. See you all on Robó!

NovelaMaven- Great translation of our passionate and poetic theme song. Not flat-footed at all. I wonder what the Robo theme song is?

Photos of the wedding. No pregnancy belly on Becky. Maybe enough time had passed that she had already had her baby? Or maybe just a goof by the continuity people?

http://www.televisa.com/telenovelas/la-tempestad/fotogalerias/la-gran-boda-de-marina-y-damian/54579

"Time Wounds All Heels"??? Took inspiration to a whole different level. "Poor little novela -- if this chopped liver version was still kind of fun, imagine how good it might have been…" Perfectly stated. NovelaMaven, this was awesome!!

"Esthercita, fueled by a potent cocktail of booze, pills, self-pity and resentment", "one final bit of venom to spew rutting away" and "Oh crap. These two again" were exceptional.

Best scene of the night: "Now Becky has a surprise for José: "We're pregnant!". As Mauricio noted, I guess we are lucky (I say, grimacing) that we were treated to that one small scene so thank you editors, for not cutting that in favor of yet another Laz/Lu who the heck cares scenes.

Fulgencio seemed to truly panic when Delfina rebuffed him. While he had too many sins to atone for, he died protecting his son and believe he died truly sorry for what he'd done.

The biggest loser of the night was poor Delfina who lost everyone. Happy to see her at the wedding obviously part of the Dam/Marina extended family. I wish her the happiness that has eluded her thus far.

I never thought Magdalena would survive. Thrilled that she has nothing but happiness before her. And Dam, Marina and children? No doubt they will live happily ever after as will Claudio and Mercedes, Jose and Becky.

Vivien: "And to UNI,
I did order from Storm Cellar a huge trash bin of Middle fingers, special delivery to your CEO and Editing department".Stellar! I'm also sad LT has ended but there is more to come! Please join us for Robo, we need you and your wonderful comments...

Vivi, I was thinking the same thing - UNI could have shown us the last few episodes uncut and unsensored but unfortunately, that was not to be.

Judy always states everything so eloquently, and did so here once again. I respectfully echo all of her warm and spot on praise for our marvelous recappers - Gloria, Mauricio, Sylvia, NovelaMaven, Madelaine and Elna June. This was a wonderful journey.

I have access problems again. I was able to view Elna June's initial recap and commented early yesterday morning. Since then (even now) I can not access the post or comments. Ack.

As La Paloma noted, the post interviews were hysterical. NovelaMaven, thank you for your masterful finale recap. Looking forward to the next.

Diana

And just because it's so DamCute, here are pics of Dam/WL with baby Michel: http://www.televisa.com/telenovelas/la-tempestad/fotogalerias/el-mejor-papa/54167

Great recap,i love it.I expected a diffrent ending from this novela,a more dramatic one, they didnt expand the Fully vs Damian "i killed your father" storyline enough

Offtopic: RIP Karla Alvarez/ Irasema from QBA you will be missed.

NovelaMaven - Loved the Acme Anvil truck on the move and your most excellent title. And the bonus interviews, too sweet. My favorite line:

"Alicia is Univision's new film editor!"

Gloria, Mauricio, Cap'n Sylvia, Elna June, Madelaine, and NovelaMaven - If it wasn't for all your fabulous double and triple recaps, as well as all the commenters, I would not have stayed with LT. It started out well - Daniela Romo as an undercover hooker is when I started to pay attention - and WL did a fine job, but you know the cutting...

Marina started out as a promising character but then she just did stuff that gave me no compunction to root for her, like tolerating Hernan in her personal space forever and not including Bea in the baby's name. Lastly, when Hernan was trying to burn them up, she said her daughter needed her. Marina, Michelito is your stepson and will look to you as his mom just like little Mercedes. I blame the writers, not the editors.

Fully going out by sacrificing himself for Lazaro didn't surprise me. But all the evildoers getting killed and nobody winding up in jail did surprise me.

Niecie- I too would have liked Marina more (I didn't dislike her) had she remained a tough, no-nonsense gal who didn't let Hernan continue to get all up in her personal space and her business. But I guess the writers used up all their spunky lines on Magdalena once she became a part of the story. ITA about the writers not doing a good job by not having her express at the end that she considered Michel hers too. But, she did run up an unfinished high-rise and struggle with a mad woman on an open ledge to save him, so I guess she showed her love for him with actions, not words.

Vivi - Good point about Marina risking herself to save Michelito on the ledge. I was glad for this scene cause they finally showed Marina taking action.

Oh my goodness yes! how could I forget MADS, my "back in a tick", "snicky snack" gal. Mads has saved a number of telenovelas from CarayCaray oblivion by jumping in and doing 2 or three recaps a week until other recappers finally came on board. A gal whose enthusiasm matches her energy and blesses us all.

(Evidently the memory is sagging along with the pelvic floor.)

¡Me he meado en los pantalones de la risa!

Fantastico, NovelaMaven,
gracias a Dios, it's over. Guess I'll have to watch the final.

¡maldita sea! the terrariums didn't get the anvil. I thought that is why Hernán escaped. Must have been written in the contract " these terrariums better not get broken".

A huge thanks to all the recappers. You saved me from having to watch this Mejia mierda.

"And to UNI,
I did order from Storm Cellar a huge trash bin of Middle fingers, special delivery to your CEO and Editing department."

Vivien, that is so funny!

Why, why, did the anvil truck stop before it got Salvador Mejia? two crapola novelas at the same time, we have suffered enough already, ya, stop the insanity!

Also I would like the anvil truck to stop by CAPCHA!

Thank you so much Vivi, Urban, Diana, Demetrios, Niecie and Variopinta for your kind wordsl

Vivi:

"But if my mother-in-law tried to make me miscarry, tried to get another woman to seduce away my husband, and then told my husband and the town that I was having an affair with my father-in-law and that my baby was his…well, let’s just say we would have to live in separate towns from then on."

Perfectly expressed (of course!). I'd be tempted to say that the NosyRosy redemption scene was cut as a deliberate statement [i.e. that she wasn't worthy of forgiveness]. But when we see her sitting next to Laz at the big wedding, her redemption is implied anyway.

And speaking of the wedding, thanks so much for the links to the photo album -- and the baby pictures too. Very useful for those of us still in withdrawal --

Hey, Vivien, I'm talking to you!

I'm glad you didn't mind my translation of the theme song. I was going to ask Alicia to do it, but you know how that might have turned out. :)

Everyone

The LT cast should be on Hoy on Monday at Noon. They showed this special over in Mexico.

XN and WL will be doing an interview on Sal y Pimienta on Sunday at 10pm.

Vivi -- I'll post a clip of the double wedding.

Vivi -- Thank you for the photo albums.

Diana:

"The biggest loser of the night was poor Delfina who lost everyone. Happy to see her at the wedding obviously part of the Dam/Marina extended family. I wish her the happiness that has eluded her thus far."

The actress (Lucero Lander) was remarkable, don't you think? And I like to think that the fictional Delfina looks forward to many years as an increasingly respected and beloved mother figure in the pueblo. Damián and Marina accept her in their family as Michel's grandmother, and I think she and Lázaro will always be close.

Niecie:

I was less exasperated by Marina's blind spot than some were. She clung until the end to the feeling that she KNEW the real Hernán at a level that no one else did. (Of course if she had been sitting on The Patio with us, she would have been able to see his dark side.)

I always figure there's a playbook somewhere that says: Midnovela -- Female protagonista becomes transiently witless, unapparently unaware that she is consorting with the devil.

Vario:

I honestly don't think Mejía deserves an anvil for this novela. It may not be one of the great ones, but it is surely one of the enjoyable ones; and there are great things about it. Anyway, it was fun having you along for the ride.

Demetrios:

Have you commented before? In any case, welcome!

"I expected a diffrent ending from this novela,a more dramatic one"

Really? If it had been any more dramatic, I think I would have had to ask Doc Suspenders for a calmante to finish my recap.

Urban:

I didn't really get into it in the recap, but I found Hernán's fate tragic and troubling. The writers and or the actor built a convincing case for his madness and his suffering. He was definitely dangerous and needed to be kept from doing more harm; but it gave me no pleasure to see him burned at the stake, especially when looked at that moment so aware and so lost.

@NovelaMagen
Yea i did comment before ,tnx for a warm welcome!
And yes by more dramatic i wanted to see more Fully vs Damian action, all writers could have done is let Dam know of the asesino de su padre, before Fully died and confront Fully about it,threaten to send him to prison etc. There has been no sufficient build up on that storyline,i though Fully wanted to revenge himself on all of the Fabre,i dont know what happened to that "idea"

On and an quite an creative Karmageddon on Hernan, who would know, he even plays violin before he burns himself to smitherenes, a very passionate musican i must say.

Double Wedding

The scene showing a closeup of the papel picado banners with Marina and Damian's names (and a clipper ship) is on the video with 9:56 min. remaining.

La Paloma

Thanks for the video Mauricio! Did you notice in the pictures of Dam and Baby Michel, Michelito's shirt has little anchors on it? Good job wardrobe department. :)

Your final sighs

http://www.peopleenespanol.com/gallery/termino-la-tempestad

Vivi -- You're Welcome! I hadn't noticed the little anchors but I went back and took a look at it. Yes it was job well done by the wardrobe people.

Variopinta -- Thanks for the link.

A million thanks to the recappers and commentators here, I would have been lost without you. The actors were brilliant in their take of the charaicters. It's a DamShame that the editing room was given overtime hours. Wish this did not have to end this soon, but I'm ready to read you all on the next show. Fully, Dam, Hernan, Pester and the 3 Ms were so great in their roles, they all deserve awards. Thanks Caray familia.
Yola

What a wonderful cast. I was very impressed by all of them and I think Laura Carmine is really a standout actress. All in all I enjoyed the TN very much with the exception of the obvious bumpy ride from the editing. I hope Ximena Navarette will go forward with her acting....she has real potential and this first for her was pretty good.

Just watched the double wedding
Is Lucrecia, Olinto's novia, Benigno's amiga in MPV?

More behind the scenes pics:

http://tempestadbackstagepics.blogspot.com/2013/11/blog-post.html

There are a lot more pics out there but these are the ones that I was able to find and collect.

Thank you, Novelamaven, for taking us out with a bang not a whimper. A big beso to all our wonderful recappers who did double and triple duty after Uni found the scissors and started snipping and combining episodes. Que lastima. However, as in real life, I want to be around folks of a positive nature, and we are so lucky that despite the poor choice Uni made to cut and paste a very good novela for reasons unknown, the talented , loyal, and generous recappers took lemons and made lemonade...lemon pudding...lemon pie...lemon cookies...lemon drops..etc. thank you all so much. Our commenters did their share of transforming those lemons, too, so beso sot all.

Novelamaven,I am especially happy for your excellent recap of the finale because I missed it. Perhsps I can search online for it. Hub and I kicked off the holiday season by going to a Mannheim Syeamroller concert with our best friends. I am now officially in the holiday spirit. It was a joyous, exhilarating experience.

in the end, I am glad that , unlike in real life, the good folks were rewarded and the bad met their just reward. Just as my grandma promised, what you give out comes back to you....at least I novelas.

it has been a great ride even though the cuts made it a bit bumpy . I am looking forward to more DamFun as we move into Robo with DamGoodlooking Rulli...long haired again..YAY.

I hope that everyone has a great weekend. I am happy that the sun is shining brightly even though it is chilly. Onward we go.

Susanlynn - You can watch the finale on Hulu or Uvideos.

Demetrios
Ah, I see what you mean about the Fulgencio/Fabré blood feud. You're right -- it would have been interesting to see it played out a little more, especially with those two actors.

Mauricio
Thank you so much for posting the video of the double wedding. You have been so generous to us all along the way. You have really enhanced everyone's enjoyment. (So are you SURE you don't want to recap Robo???)

Variopinta
Thanks for the link!

La Paloma
Oh my gosh, I just looked at the papel picado and yes, the names "Damián" and "Marina" and the image of the ship make the scene even more special.

Yola
Thanks for the lovely words. It's good to know you'll be with us on the next one!

isabellademayo
Oh yes, Laura Carmine was outstanding. And I hope we see Ximena Navarette again on the small screen.

Thanks for closing this out for us in such an elegant and entertaining fashion, NovelaMaven. I loved the hurrying from place to place delivering the goods. The interview was a tasty bit of lagniappe for us.

Thanks to all the recappers and special thanks for filling in the missing pieces... what dedication.

Diana,

"The biggest loser of the night was poor Delfina who lost everyone."

and worst of all, no makeup for her while it was all happening. Poor thing.

My ideal ending would have been this...

After Fin had faded from the screen, I'd have shown a shot of Hernán's empty dining room with those fragile delicate terrariums sitting silently in all their intact glory... gloating (can terrariums gloat?)...

then I'd have Eusebia quietly enter surrounded by a luminescent glow, give us a mysterious saintly smile as she touches an admonishing finger to her lips, lift her cane and demolish them in a single well-aimed swing and then as they shatter (filmed in silent slow motion of course) we can watch with the smug satisfaction that all is right with the world.

Carlos

NovelaMaven:

Delightful, marvelous, fantastic, I have no words this recap is soooo great! Thank you so very much for this finale recap of this sadly shortened TN. Thank you for all the hard work you put into this finale and all other other two/three epis you did. You rock!

I see I am not the only one to be saddened by Fully's demise. I could never really hate this character, and what a fantastic villan he was! And saving his son from the crazed Herny.

Herny on the other hand, was fiddling at the end like Nero fiddled while Rome burned. He made DamFine and Marina's life hell and others' too. His end was perfect.

I still felt bad that Pester's end was so horrific but I really think in the end she just couldn't live without DamIsn'tHers.

I wish SHUTUPROSY had gotten more of a petite anvil. She should have had to work extra hard for Laz/Jaz Lu's forgiveness.

Loved that Becks and Jose finally got together and preggers too, YAY! and also liked Valentin and Mags ending too. Very sweet.

Also Mercy and Claudio what a pair. So sweet and loving.

And finally DamFine and Marina together at last, happy at last with two children. What a sweet couple they were.

Thanks again NovelaMaven you made my day!

Hi Susanlynn,

It's good to hear you are having fun and getting into the holiday spirit.

I think the final episode is definitely worth tracking down. Whatever else you might say about it, it isn't boring. And yes, it gives us a fix of "what you give out comes back to you", even if, in the real world, it isn't always so. [Sigh.]

See you in Robó!

Carlos
I love your vision of gloating terrariums being shattered by saintly Eusebia. I see we both felt the need to bring the madrina back one last time. But my, with what distinct purpose.

You will have noticed how shamelessly I appropriated "Next!" It just seemed right for the Anvil guys.

Mads
Oh you are too kind. It has been a pleasure working on your team.

And hey, guess what? It turns out that a novela doesn't even have to be that bad to inspire our recaps! Who knew? [Anyhow it's a good thing because it will be a long while before a gift like El Tal comes along again.]
[snort]

Carlos..ha...those terrariums really caught your attention..I liked your ending. you described it in such detail that it played out in living color in my mind.

Mauricio..thank you for the information about where I can view the finale. I hope that I will find some time this weekend to view the finale . However, Novelamaven's excellent recap let me see it with my mind's eye.

I agree that poor Delfina drew the short straw having Fully as a hubby and Pester as an ungrateful, disrespectful daughter. I am sure that DamGoodGuy and Marina will draw Delphina into the family . Isn't it interesting that even though DamOrphan has no blood family left of his own that we know of..no siblings, parents, or madrigal, we never think of him as alone because he has drawn so many people to him...the crew, the town children, Marina's adopted family and blood family.

Susanlynn,
Actually Dam has one blood relative now -- his daughter, Mercedes.

Thanks, Ipad...I wrote madrina..you wrote madrigal. Sigh.

Yes, Carlos's favorite word is appropriate for so many occasions. On to Robo. Next !

NOvelmaven...loved your title. " Time Wounds All Heels"..Please make it so..Ojala.

Gracias a todos. Sorry I haven't been around much for this. The recappers have been stellar (and generous) from the small taste I've had here. Who knew CarayCaray would turn into the most intelligent blog on the planet. I am humbled in your presence. Many old compañeras (Gloria, Sylvia, La Capitana cebo del tiburón, EJ, Madeleine & NvMv) and new (to me), Mauricio (a genius IMO). Hugs & thanks all around. I'll be heading over to Telemundo for La Reina, and perhaps I can squeeze in a little time for commenting over there.
NvMv, I love your comment to JudyB: "It's a crying shame when the real world keeps a person from the virtual one." Ain't that the truth!

Glad that Fulgy had a deathbed conversion. So sad for that pathetic Estercita, but the actress delivered, big time! I'm sick at the thought of losing our sweet William, and furious at the thought that the chop job was Mejia's idea of venganza against this talented hunk of..., well, I'll stop there. I hope WL makes it really big in American films. My favorite part of last night was that cute little boy reaching up to play with his papi's face. William Levy must be a great dad, because every scene I've watched him in with children, he is a natural, warm & responsive and the kids love him.

—Agnes in NJ

Agnes- Did you check out the picture link of WL and the baby? You will love it.

Vivi—thanks, I went back for a look. Uuuf!

Hey, is the party still going? So sorry I had to miss the fun last night; I usually like to get in the mood for a Gran Final with appropriate props. Alas, instead of partying with a life size cut-out of Capitan Fabre I was whooping it up at an 80th birthday party. (It was a lot of fun though!)

Novela Maven, you outdid yourself on so many levels with this one. What a perfect title, and the Acme Anvil truck was hilarious. I could just see it busily speeding from one victim to another. At first I was annoyed that NosyRosy was forgiven so quickly, but when I realized the poor, overworked Acme Anvil crew would have missed their party in Minsk, well, NosyRosy wasn't worth missing the caviar and borscht, so I guess I can be forgiving too.

The fact that some of us feel bad about Fully's demise just shows what a great actor CE is. He murdered his love rival and tried to murder his innocent son too in a most heinous fashion. He was key in the human trafficking of innocent girls. He strangled a young woman to death and buried her body, never to be found. He thought about killing others. He tried to have his wife killed, was it twice? And he was making plans to attempt it again. He did many other bad things, too, so I was perfectly happy to see him die. I don't believe he would have stayed reformed for long. But thank goodness his character was in this TN! For that I will be forever grateful

I LOVED the interviews at the end. NM, you have such a great way of describing things that I felt I could actually see them! Way to keep the dialogue in character. I was especially delighted with Mercy's interview. So all about. Me. Me. Me. Just hilarious.

Carlos, thank you for telling us what happened with the terrariums. Way to close the loop.

Thank you Novela Maven for the best Gran Final ever. I enjoyed this TN very much in spite of Stupid Uni's edits. It had some terrific acting of the regular and ham varieties, great scenery and food porn, wonderful recaps and the best comments ever. Thanks for hanging in there folks!

Vivien, THANK YOU for sending Uni your thoughtful package on behalf of The Patio. Drinks on the house for you amiga.

I had to laugh out loud at Oh crap. These two again. Truth, I thought the exact same thing.

Also DamHilarious: [Please. Even the Acme Anvil guys are laughing at these two. And on The Patio? They're wetting their pants.]

Vivi, what adorable pics of WL and the baby. The child always seemed enthralled with WL. He really has a way with kids.

Novela Maven and all the recap team of Time Wounds All Heels, errrr, I mean La Tempestad, you have done a magnificent job with this telenovela and now the action packed confusingly cut finale. I salute all of you I have been lurking on your posts mostly but always enjoying the comments of friends old and new. I still don't understand what the rush was with LoonyVision and why they had to chop this particular telenovela when there were several others that deserved cutting SO MUCH MORE…

This was full of fabulous actors too. I am sorry to see it end. See you next time though, there is always a new plot to love or hate...

And thanks to Vivi and Mauricio for the links to pictures. It looks like the cast really liked each other there is so much energy in those pictures of them beaming at each other.

The Patio is still open? Whew! I was afraid I'd come back and find it sealed off with yellow Uni tape.

Susanlynn, yes. Ojalá.

Agnes:

"Who knew CarayCaray would turn into the most intelligent blog on the planet."

Wow. When I read the comments around here, some days it does feel like that, especially when YOU decide to join us. Thank you on behalf of the Tempestad crew on Caray.

Enjoy the other side of Iván Sánchez in La Reina!

Sylvia
You are so incredibly kind that I feel myself being lulled into believing you. I'm especially pleased that you liked Merce's interview. I was trying to capture not only the ME ME ME thing, but also her trick of capturing everyone's attention by speaking v e r y s l o w l y and stopping. At unpredictable points in the utterance to pause.

Besides, your comments themselves are always small lapidary works. Thank you for your generous spirit, now and always. (No one will ever accuse you of being boring or an asshat.)

Now about that life-size cut-out of Captain Fabré...

NM, what a wonderful recap. I thought the end of Hernan was perfect. Playing his violin to the end. I hated that this ended. I have enjoyed watching and recapping, but especially this group. You have all made it fun with your witty comments and observations. I hope you call come over to Robo.

Hi Cheryl:
We were posting at the same time so I didn't notice you slip into The Patio. You've been lurking? I'm glad you decided to stop in for a copa. It has been a pretty amazing group of recappers and commenters gathered around a show with lots of heart.

I was trying to think of a single actor in the Televisa fold with the charisma of William Levy and I came up empty.

Gloria:
Thanks so much! As for Robó, I know I'll be there and I'm so glad you will be too.

Enjoying every single comment. What an amazing group this is. Can't wait to carry things on with Robo.

I'm sad to say that it doesn't appear Uni is rerunning the finale this weekend (at least in my area). Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe every TN that has had a prime time run the past 5-6 years has had the finale run again either Saturday or Sunday. Not this time. Jeers to Uni for treating the excellent cast and storyline so shabbily (not to mention all of the loyal recappers and commenters of Caray).

Agnes in NJ (so good to see your post), I totally agree. Hope WL becomes a huge star, which is what he so deserves and that Uni comes to rue their poor treatment.

Looking forward to Monday.

Diana

Wow NM what a wonderful finale you recapped. I so enjoyed the busy anvil truck. And thanks so much for post-show interviews and your thoughtful explanation about why the tn was edited so poorly. Thank you and the rest of the team for another fun experience. Though Uni treated us badly, you all went to another level and gave us excellent work.

Vivi - thanks for the pics. That's so neat the little guy liked WL so much. ITA w/how Lucia should feel about Rosy. While she didn't manage to kill her grandchild, the fact that she tried to harm him means there at least should be some distance b/t her and Laz/Lu/little Fully.

Mauricio thanks for the pics.

Diana - I share your anger at Uni for the continued bad treatment of this tn. And ITA that Uni will regret this decision.

Madelaine, Gloria, NovelaMaven, Cap'n Sylvia, Elna June, and Mauricio - you all deserve a standing ovation!!! What an eloquent, witty, humorous, intelligent, fun bunch. Thank you all very much from the bottom of my heart, for your time and effort these past months.

I haven't been commenting as often as I'd like these past few weeks, cuz I got buried at work. And since Uni started butchering the episodes, ugh, I got really disheartened. I always looked forward to, and read, recaps, and comments everyday, though.

What can I say? I am honestly, truly sad that LT ended so soon. WL lit up my weeknights like no other. I've been obsessed with this man since CCEA. I've watched almost every interview with him online, and he can do nor say no wrong. I cannot praise him enough.

I loved DamFab and his whole crew, who adored, and would do anything for, him. and what's not to adore? M&M twins (thanks NM) were beautiful, and I thought wonderfully portrayed by XN; one demure, sweet-natured, the other feisty, street-wise, and her face mirrored their personalities. I delight in natural, physical beauty, with talent, such as that of Mariana Seoane's, Laura Carmine's, and Nora Salinas'. I think Iván Sánchez is my favorite villain, thus far. I loved his dementedness, and he made me laugh big time.

Speaking of WL with kids, I wanna post this....

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U2X39uoKgrQ

When baby Michel was playing with DamFeb's chin, or whenever he'd look at his papi, I was thinking that Michel was thinking.... hmmmm... this is one good looking hombre.

NovelaMaven - imho, WL is the one and only; a total package.

To ALL the commenters, I enjoyed each and everyone's posts.

I will check out Rulli in his latest, even though I can't stand Boyer's fake physicality.

oh, and Vivien - I too was so elated when I found CarayCaray during Sortilegio. I was literally pausing each time WL uttered anything, to translate Spanish captions, into English on my laptop. no cc3 back then.

Mauricio - thanks for the info on Hoy, and SyP (which I dvr every Sunday). I kept waiting for LT en Hoy since it ended in Mexico, and thought I had missed it. I just set my dvr for Monday.

Karen

How great that you stopped by to share the final episode with Team Tempestad. I so appreciate your nice words. Hope to see you over at Robó.

Shallowgal

Good to have you back! And it makes me happy to hear that you have enjoyed Team Tempestad.

Thank you so much for the video of WL and the kids. It completely cracked me up.

Only William is William. Still, I liked Rulli a lot in Amores verdaderos. He and Eiza Gonzalez were just so damn charming and funny together in an old-fashioned movie star kind of way.

We'll see about Robo. But we should have a good time here even if the novela turns out to be only so so. Or worse.

WL will be missed,i though he would play a villian once in the future..I wonder how that would turn out,and btw if Univison "dumped" him why doesnt he join Televisa?

Oh and Robo is quite good,i watched it ahead online and im amazed.Hope you will feel the same as i do!
Also does anyone watch Por Siempre Mi Amor? I like that one too, looks like second gold, first is Robo of course for me

Also i pretty much avoided Quero Amarte its ugh boring,it looks like it doesnt have a spark, the roles really have no energy and it felt so bland.

It is so sad to see LT end so soon. I too will miss seeing WL every week night. The good thing is that there are his upcoming movies to look forward to. His first movie Addicted comes out March 14th 2014 followed by Single Moms Club which comes out on May 9th 2014. I am really looking forward to seeing him on the big screen.

Shallowgal -- I loved DamFab too and the whole crew - Lagarto, Oso, Bagre, and Lolo. The crew was always so loyal to DamFab and they would do anything for him. Ivan Sanchez did a wonderful job. His Hernan character was very belivable and he made me hate the character so much. Ximena did a good job too. My favorite twin has to be Magda though. I liked her spunkiness and her street smarts.

Demetrios: WL played a bad guy on an episode of Mujeres Asesinas. The episode is from the third season. It is the Ana y Anaette Robles episode. The episode is available on YouTube.

Vivien -- If you want to watch another WL novela I recommend you watch one of his earlier novelas - Cuidado Con El Angel or Sortilegio. The two novelas are available on YouTube.

Elna June - your introspection piece last Thursday was so spot on. It was beautifully written, and so mirrored my sentiments as well. It couldn't have been said any better. wow!

Diana - you are right.... I too immediately checked to see if they'd re-run the finale cuz my dvr screwed up and didn't record it. I can't believe they're not. so effin' unreal!!!

Sorry. it's coming to me in bits and pieces.

Mauricio - you're amazing for being a newbie recapper; complete with screen shots.

NovelaMaven - thanks also for translation of (now my favorite tn) theme song; beautiful.

Confirmed -- The cast of LT will be on Hoy tomorrow at noon. William, Ximena, Cesar, Maria S, Arturo, Manuel Ojeda, Daniela Romo, and other cast members will be there.

Ivan Sanchez will also be on Hoy.

It's been a busy weekend, and now that I have a chance to TRULY relax, I'm enjoying Novela Maven's recap all over again.

NM, your paragraph The Waking of Esthercita Salazar was very poignant, although the title did give me a "que?" moment. Very clever twist on "waking". (Eespecially with Hernan and his "Only resting" surprise pop-ups.)

I've got to ask, was that a deliberate Wizard of Oz reference, "He does have a heart -- and now it is breaking"? I always love a reference to my favorite movie.

Interesting observation that Lucia was starting to sound like resentful Rosy. What do they say about children sometimes choosing to marry their parents?

In retrospect, I very much liked this telenovela. Of course I always love a nautical theme, even if the galan can't actually sail. It had some surprise twists such as Pester killing Ernesto and Mags actually being a GOOD twin and supportive to her sister. I was going to say Hernan killing Ursula was a surprise, as I expected her to end up in jail, however she herself feared that Hernan would kill her. Fool her twice shame on her.

I will even miss the BOING. (But not Laz/Lu/Nosy.)

Thank you for the heads up on the TV shows Mauricio. I already have those shows locked and loaded for Tivo.

This didn't seem like the usual Mejia drivel, but I believe it's because of Monica. I missed Eusebia but I believe she was more effective at the helm of "La Tempestad".

You guys.

I'm such a sucker for peer pressure that I'm going to have to record S&P even though I usually can't stand the way they seem to talk over their guests and never seem to ask the right questions. (They make the old Cristina Show seem like the PBS NewsHour). I've never seen Hoy so I guess it's time to check it out.

Thanks for the heads up, Mauricio!

Hola Sylvia,

--I was thinking of the 1998 Irish movie, Waking Ned Devine, when I wrote that subhead about Esthercita.

--I was thinking of a Simon Brett suspense novel I read years ago, "Not Dead, Only Resting," when I wrote the subhead about Hernán playing possum. The main character Charles Paris was a [usually] unemployed actor who used the phrase to describe his professional situation.

--I wasn't consciously thinking "Wizard of Oz" for Fulgencio (sorry!) though the movie is so deeply imprinted in our culture that it creeps in unawares. Rather I was reflecting that up to that moment, Fulgencio's grief seemed real and not just something assumed for the purpose of manipulating others.

NovelaMaven -- WL and XN won't actually be on the set of SyP. They will only show an interview with them during the show. They were interviewed a few weeks ago when they were filming the wedding.

Good to know, Mauricio. That makes it sound more appealing. Thanks again!

NM, thanks for the annotations on your recap. Funny, I was just talking about Waking Ned Devine the other day with a friend. We both knew we liked it but couldn't remember it very well. Guess it's off to the library to borrow it. And they have Simon Brett too! Cool, I was wondering what I was going to read next. Gracias amiga!

THE FINAL BODY COUNT:

1. Michel Fabre - mauled by sharks after his ship exploded [explosion caused by Fulgencio]
2. Ariel Reverte - sick [died of natural causes]
3. Genaro (man who sold Esthercita to Macario) - ? [murdered by an employee of Hernan; death ordered by Hernan]
4. Genaro's wife - ? [murdered by an employee of Hernan; death ordered by Hernan]
5. Mayuya - strangled [murdered by Fulgencio]
6. Madre Eusebia - fell off a cliff [fell off the cliff while being chased by Nereo; her death was ordered by Fulgencio]
7. Ornellas (Fed) - hit by a car [murdered by Fulgencio]
8. Thug #1 (sent to beat up Damian) - shot [murdered by Hernan]
9. Thug #2 (sent to beat up Damian) - shot [murdered by Hernan]
10. Macario - shot between the eyes [murdered by Ernesto]
11. Zully - shot [murdered by Ursula; her death was ordered by Hernan]
12. Ernesto - poisoned and drowned [murdered by Esthercita]
13. Nereo - shot in the back of the head [murdered by Fulgencio]
14. Beatriz - sick; stroke; poisoned? [either died of natural causes or due to the pills Hernan switched with her medication]
15. Esthercita - threw herself off a building [suicide]
16. Ursula - shot [murdered by Hernan]
17. Fulgencio - shot [murdered by Hernan]
18. Hernan - burned to death [suicide]

NovelaMaven, thank you for your recap. I just want to echo my gratitude along with everyone else to all of LT recappers for doing a phenomenal job of recapping what we saw and what we missed. You all recapped above and beyond. Kudos to you all.
Vivien- I would like to personally drive that anvil delivery truck.

A HUGE thank you to all of the recappers, and this, NM, was superb, especially the "interview", it was like closure for me!
I've been out of country, no wifi, and just got caught up, and am leaving this comment late, but again, thank you all so much. !

I hope I can find a good Telenovela to watch - with William Levy in it:-)
Ana

Sylvia, de nada! Simon Brett isn't exactly a heavy weight, but he writes smart, wry and slightly dark mysteries. You'll be able to tell within a few pages if he's to your liking.

Mauricio, that is quite a list you've compiled. Did all that really happen on our watch? And just think, that doesn't include the near-misses like Padre Tomás, Mercedes and of course, DamFab himself.

Is it possible that the only person in the "inner circle" who was never abducted, shot or afflicted with a life-threatening illness was Aunt Becky?

How is it possible for all that stuff to have happened in a novel that continued to feel somehow playful? Hmmm…

Shallowgal,
I think you may like the theme song to Robó, "El perdedor." It's written by Enrique Iglesias who sings it in a duet arrangement with Marco Antonio Solís. There are a few versions of it floating around, but here's one that I found on YouTube:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VY4MhTOVPCg

Don't forget that Ursula tried to kill Becky by horse accident and brain bashage. Ordered by Hernan.

Tablet Jefa,
You are so welcome. And I'm sure Vivien would be very grateful for your help with her cargo for Univision. :)

Ana,
Welcome back! And thanks for the nice words.

If you are looking for a William Levy novela, you'll have to keep an eye out for when they show his old ones. He has just said he's not planning any novelas, at least not for now.

Maybe we'll see you in Lo que la vida me robó. No sweet William, alas. But Rulli isn't exactly chopped liver, right?

Oh Sylvia, that's right, attempted murder by horse!

Doh. How could I forget?

Well at least the terrariums survived intact. [Or so we assume. And the terrariums started to feel like actual characters, right?]

Novela Maven,
I must start this comment with an apology. I am so sorry for my tardiness. I had a super busy weekend, including work, and my sisters birthday.

NM, what a way to recap this capitulo final. Thank you so much for all of the hard work and dedication you put into all of your recaps. And thanks for the bonus interview. I read it more than once. You are awesome!

The ending of this TN is kind of what I expected. The one part that I did not like was that NosyRosy got away with way too much. I know you're supposed to forgive, but Dios Mio! Por Favor! I was expecting hear her name dragged through the mud all over town. I'm so sad that I won't get to see DamFab on a daily basis. I sure will miss all those DamInventiveNames. And ITA that those Damism's should somehow be carried onto Robo.

BTW, does anyone know if it was revealed that Hernan switched Bea's pills? I was just curious about that.

Again, thank you Gloria, Mauricio, Cap'n Sylvia, Elna June, Madelaine and Novela Maven. You made it so much easier to continue watching this TN. Without you guys, so many of us would have been lost at sea. A million thanks!

Hasta manana!

Mauricio: Beatriz - "sick; stroke; poisoned? [either died of natural causes or due to the pills Hernan switched with her medication]". I forgot that he switched her meds...Maybe that did hasten her demise? Excellent point.

AuntyAnn, I see you wondered the same thing.

Guess we will never know.

NovelaMaven: "How is it possible for all that stuff to have happened in a novel that continued to feel somehow playful? Hmmm…". Once again you have managed to get the heart of why this TN was so good. Imagine if we had been treated to it in its entirety instead of the mangled mess it became.

Diana

good morning. I missed SyP. Maybe I can tape Hoy because I will be at work.

Don't forget that wiiliam's first novela was Pasion. He wore an awful wig and wasn't a very good actor back then. He was the brother of the leading lady Susanna Gonzales (Betty from AV).

Did anyone watch Bailando last night ? KendrHO from AV is a dance machine. Yikes.

A question worth 1 million de pesos: Why wasnt Hernans Violin labeled as a mental health hazard?

NM,

I hope you're still reading! Thank you so much for this fabulous recap. You told it with such enthusiasm, detail and, per usual, humor, that I felt like I got to watch the unedited episodes.

Not unlike Fulgencio, protecting Laz from Herny's bullets, you (and all LT recappers) spared us Uni's hatchets and scissors. Like you, I have loved this little novella even if it was shrunk down to half it's intended size. Thank you for giving it a dignified send off!

And I loved DamFab's blurred butt in your interview! And the "BOING" :)

See you on the other side!

Good morning, Aunty Ann:
Thanks for the nice words!

"BTW, does anyone know if it was revealed that Hernan switched Bea's pills?'

Maybe someone else knows, but I never saw that revealed. My take on the pill switch FWIW--
Hernán wasn't poisoning Bea; he just wanted to keep her in a permanently drowsy state so she wouldn't tell Marina about him.

When Hernán was removed from the scene, the supply of "calmantes" was eventually exhausted, and Bea woke up and started communicating with her family.

Since she was taking the sedatives instead of her prescribed meds and the sedatives themselves may have had some harmful effects, maybe they did hasten Bea's death. But remember that she was on borrowed time. She lived longer than her doctors ever expected her to, long enough to hold Marina's baby in her arms.

Diana:
" Imagine if we had been treated to it in its entirety instead of the mangled mess it became."

I know. Nerts!

Susanlynn:

You didn't miss anything. SyP was all tease and little DamFab. There was an excerpt of an interview where he said:

1) He wasn't planning another novela right now. What he wants is to spend time with his kids.
2) He and Ximena N had great chemistry on camera. If anyone thinks they have a real-world romance, that just means they were doing their job as actors.
3) The whole cast got along very well together.
4) The first wig was a drag, took 2 hours to put on, and he was happy to get rid of it.

Mauricio -- anything else?

There was also a brief segment with Daniela Romo, but I couldn't really catch what she was saying.

What was most striking to me was the ABSENCE of the fawning praise for the novela that we usually see at these debriefings. They were saving their fawning for PEAM. [Colunga and Soto were live guests -- so maybe you would have liked that part. You can catch it online, I'm sure.]

Oh and I did see Bailando last night, at least parts of it. It's true -- Kendra/Marjorie is a dancing machine!

Demetrios:

"Why wasnt Hernans Violin labeled as a mental health hazard?"

Hee Hee. A hazard to his health or ours?

Katy:
Friday festivities usually linger on into Monday, so it is certainly not too late to join the party. I am so pleased you enjoyed the recap.

See you in Robo. [I hear Monserrat is an excellent crier.]

BOING

@Novela
To us if we would ever pick it unless it got burned as well!
And btw when are Robo recaps coming?(Dont mean to sound impatient)

Demetrios,

If you were worried about us, then you can relax. The
violin is surely only ashes now.

And we have learned a valuable lesson:

A taste for classical music is, if not diagnostic of psychopathy, surely suggestive of it.

As for Robo recaps, we start with tonight's episode. I believe Urban Anthropologist is on deck so we are in for a treat.

DAMN!

Our favorite editor and faithful DamCompiler hasn't shown up for the farewell party!

Anita

You have added so much to our enjoyment of this novela. Wherever you are, thank you for contributing your wit and your smarts to Project Tempestad.

[I fear you will have quite a job on your hands with all the left-over Storm Cellar™ merchandise -- though some of it is likely to increase in value over time. Think of that before planning any bonfires.]

NovelaMaven:

Anita is on a bit of a working vacay for a couple of weeks. She should be joining us on Robo when she gets back : )

I got to see this remarkable cast on "HOY" this morning. They were all relaxed, articulate and extremely charming, every one of them.

I forgot to say thanks to NovelaMaven for this grand finale with grand writing and humor. Mil gracias, amiga.

Yes, a last brindis with a copa on the patio with queridos amigos.

NovelaMaven:

WL also talked about the filming of the diving scene he did when DamFab dives underwater to remove the bomb from the bottom of the ship.

Basically, the production had brought in a stunt double to do the diving scene. But WL wanted to do the scene himself so the stunt double was not used. Well, at the time WL was not fully aware just how far out at sea they would be filming the scene.

So before he dived underwater he joked around and told everyone "If I get eaten by sharks it was nice knowing you"

There was more to the SyP interview which was not shown but will be available online.

Oh yes, the diving stuff! Thanks, Mauricio -- I knew you would come to the rescue, as always.

WL WAS absolutely charming in the (abridged) interview (and absolutely Cuban, making us realize how far he has come in mastering "Mexican" when he is in character).

Cheryl,
Thanks for telling us about Hoy. I actually recorded it and will check it out when I get home later.
Y sí -- ¡Salud!

Mads, Thanks for filling us in on Anita. And I see you've got your new avatar already for tonight. Well done!

The HOY interview is worth watching.

William, Ximena, Ivan, Maria S, Mauel Ojeda, Mariana S, Monica Miguel, Daniela Romo, Cesar, Arturo, and Nora Salinas were there.

They each had a chance to talk a little about the characters they played.

WL said he did not use any stunt doubles. He also talked about the diving scene.

WL and Ivan talked a little about their fight scenes.

Ivan talked a little about the XXX scenes he did with Mariana S.

Cesar talked about filming both CI and LT at the same time (before his character was killed off in CI). He joked around and said "maybe next time I'll do three novelas at once".

Monica Miguel talked a little about fondling WL. Yes she actually did talk about it. DamFab was his godson after all. ;)

WL talked about enjoying doing the scenes with the kids. Alvarado, Veracruz (where most of the TN was filmed) reminded him of Cojimar, Cuba (the place where he was born and raised). WL identified himself with the Veracruz kids because he was like them as a kid.

Cute parts that are worth watching out for (some not all):

One of the hosts says that WL won the hearts of the "Veracruzanos" and Daniela Romo adds "and the Veracruzanas".

Daniela Romo stroking Cesar Evora's beard.

Arturo is talking about his character Jose being a seminarian in the past and WL adds joking that "he (Jose) was everything"

One of the hosts makes Arturo stand up and turn around to show off his charms. ;)

There was more to the show but that is all I can remember at the moment. If you missed it and want to watch send me an email and I'll be glad to see you a link. I don't want to post it here just in case Uni is lurking around.

Mauricio and NM, thanks for sharing the interviews on SyP and Hoy. It sounds like the cast got along well. That is always nice to hear. Well, onward to Robo and a new adventure I n a few hours.

Mauricio..yes! would you send me the link. judithbackoff46@gmail.com

thanks!

While watching old LT interviews today I found out that the actress who played Muñeca was Ximena's double for the scenes where Marina & Magda were together. Also, the aquarium was not the first place they chose for the big meeting of the twins. They had planned another place for the big meeting to take place however due to bad weather they decided to make the meeting take place at the aquarium at the last minute.

JudyB -- I have emailed you the link.

You're the best, Mauricio. Thanks.

We still have half an hour before turning a new page of TN history. Robo is coming.
I can not watch it yet, I still in mourning the lost of my heart. I have to wait few days to calm down or maybe borrow some pills of Pester.

Anyway, I would like to take this last minutes to thank again to all the wonderful, amazing recappers and also the commenters. You've made the time I live in your country a very unforgettable time.

NovelaMaven,
You save last for the best. Your interview at the end is beyond funny. If I was you I would fall off the chair, he would pick me up as any gentleman would do. Imagine !!!

Tablet Jefa,
Thank you for helping me deliver the truck. We need to be hurry or we will have to deliver the rotten cargo. UNI desert it.

Mauricio,
I have the DVD of those show :CCEA and Sortilegio. They are chopped up ten times worse then this LT ,Maybe I will watch them on YOUTUBE. Thanks for your INFO.

Vivi,
Love the pictures in the link you gave. Thanks

Anita,
Come back soon, You have to Patent you DAMISM'S list. It is strictly used to describe DAM-IAN only .

Diana, Karen, Demetrios, Agnes, Cheryl NM, JudyB...It has been nice reading your comments. They are all so wonderful, thoughtful and funny.

Wishing you all the best.
Goodbye for now.

Vivien

Vivien,
You are so right! I was such a fool not to fall off the chair when I was interviewing DamFab. I missed the chance to have him help me up with his manly muscular arms. Drat!

Like you, I am having a hard time saying goodbye to our imaginary friends in Our Lady of the Sea. Even though I'm recapping 'Robo,' I don't feel ready to watch it. It would feel like cheating on DamFab. Uff. What to do?

Mauricio,
Thank you so much for summing up the Hoy interview and for giving us the added little tidbits, like Muñeca being M&M's body double. I finally got a chance to see the Hoy interview and it is fantastic. They even included lots of clips from parts of the finale that were cut from the US version.

This is the kind of thing that would have had a sizeable audience in the evening, it seems to me. But what do I know?

I haven't had time to watch the TV shows yet (Sal y Pimienta and Hoy) but I sure enjoyed reading the comments about them. I laughed loudly (scared the guy next to me at the coffee shop) when I read about Monica Miguel fondling WL. We just KNEW it!b

They also showed some clips from scenes that were cut from the Uni version.

Rebeca and Jose kissing on the stairs after their little bet about who could hold their liquor better when they were in Mexico City.

DamFab and the kids.

Hernan's fantasy where he kisses Marina.

Cap'n Sylvia:

Monica Miguel mentioned how there were many jealous woman out there that were jealous of her being so close to WL.

Well, thanks to Mauricio, I saw the Rebeca/Jose kiss shown on Hoy and it was absolutely the HOTTEST kiss I've seen in a telenovela ever.

Vivien..I too like your idea of NovelaMaven falling off her chair and ending up in Wm's manly muscular arms. If I ever spot someone even close to as gorgeous as Levy in Columbus, I plan to stagger and fall immediately. With my silver locks, they're sure to think I'm an old granny having a sinking spell and they'll rush to my rescue.

Well, come to think of it, I AM an old granny.....

William Levy - am your fan but not with long hair. I enjoyed watching you in pasion, sortilegio, cuidado, triumph and now latempestad though the chemistry with ximena navarette is tentative. You look hot in suits.

Laura carmine - great talent. I loved you in Amor bravio

Ivan sanchez - good work

Rebeca n jose - lovely couple

la tempestad crew - fun to watch

Valentin & Magda - how sweet, that Guy is hot

Cesar evora - what an actor? he plays his role really well.

Macario - R.I.P, that wig really messed you

shinamum

I love WL, even with long hair :D
Thanks so much for the recaps! I just found this TN - through a post about great TN villains that included Fulgencio! I was shocked to see WL since I last saw him in Sortilegio and didn't know he had other TNs. The episodes are up on youtube but no ccs so I had to go back and forth between the videos and the recaps, but I understood what was going on. Plus, the recaps were honestly hilarious in parts. I binged (skimmed) a lot of it so it only took me three days to get through it but I love it, and all the cast!

Thanks,
Max
