This whole recap is simply marvelous and what a gem you put up. I especially loved the intro, I had to read it twice, and I was laughing all the way through. LSD indeed! You have found the pearl in the oyster!

I can.not.believe.Marina!!! Is TAV over there on CI rubbing off on Marina? Que, Que, What? Is her brain cell activity going too? I swear if she marries Herny she is dead to me y punto.

Oh, loved your line about Bea having gastric distress, too funny. I just wish she could speak. Then she could tell One Cell Marina what is really going on with Herny.

I too laughed at Herny as Ursula nonchalantly pointed that gun and made him dance, shooting at him, warning him about Northern Girls, that was a hoot. Evidently he liked it, cause when he jumped in the pool and came up for air he was laughing.

Laz is an idiot. I hated the way he was trying to bully Jaz/Lu. It wasn't her secret to tell. It seemed Laz was letting his Mama get away with her lie. He should have really lit into her and then left for good. I hated Abigal spewing that venom about Jaz/Lu being Fully's amante. She's giving SHUTUPROSY ideas. They both need the anvil.

It really amazes me how SHUTUPROSY is so quick to point the finger at every woman she thinks is "loose" but she never for a moment stops to think, hey she used to be that way! I really think her self righteousness will be her downfall.

Pester is just a pest. What is she gonna use to show a pregnancy, a pillow? She is always so stupid and never thinks ahead. I can't wait to see what she plans to do. Oh, and she's the only heir! Now Delfina knows how petty and self absorbed Pester is with herself.

I am really liking Delfina giving Fully what for!

Not looking forward to Friday night, more gnashing of teeth, mainly by me ; )

I am in California, I just finished watching THAT MESS, total confused episode .Lucky for me I open CarayCaray, and here you are.
Thank you for posting the recap so fast. you save my sanity. I can sense your anger in the writing.

I can not believe that Univision is so disrespectful to American TN viewing audience. If you turn on Uni channel, and read the brief summery of LT. It says:" Maria Teresa Montilla, es una mujer de negocios acostumbrada a la vida en la ciudad.." ???.For more then 3 months, no one bothers to change that name. What does Uni think we are ?

I will not watch another TN from Uni again. So do many of my friends. But, I will faithfully read this blog in order to learn English and to laugh and sneer in American way.

Ej, thanks! What a cute lead-in for the recap, and I am sure Ernesto has been distressed at his own cut scenes.
I had to be out late at a work dinner last night and missed the episode, was hoping not to watch the recap, but your humorous description of Ursully making Hernan dance made me realize I must watch it.
Your analysis of the actions of the characters were astute and accurate.
I loved your comment about Lazaro, "he runs well." Yea, that's what he's good at right now.
and "Bea’s face looks as though she is suffering from severe gastrointestinal distress"
"Ursula is muy impactada. In the resulting closeup we can see that the character draws her lipstick too far above her upper lip line. This is not appealing ."

Does anyone else think that Fully is the nicest villain ever? Sigh. I know. But he's cute. I don't care if he's older and chubby, I want them to make him the galan the next time. OK, so he'd be an older galan.

Speaking of cute, the baby is cute. After 6 mos, the baby is still 3 months old, HELLO, isn't anyone worried that he hasn't grown or developed?? I mean both Luc and Mar are showing, so the time has clearly passed. Someone pass me a gigantic foil beanie, please.

according to last night's episode (s) Pester is planning to have a "miscarriage" of her "pregnancy" carefully timed.

"that unsophisticated dolt, Nareo", "Fast pace, false walls, jerky and unpredictable turns, near crashes and a burning ending in hell" and my favorite, "My scurvy companion Nareo also sends his obeisance", were amazing.

Agree with Madelaine that your take on Bea's gastric distress was high camp. I am fervently hoping that Bea regains her voice at just the crucial moment to unmask Hernan.

Hernan has thrown himself into the witness protection program. Does he think that permits him to seek revenge on Laz?? Beanie time. Also, Hernan showed he is truly insane by his demented, contorted facial expressions and demeanor.

Also loved seeing him dance as sure shot Ursula did some mighty fine gunslinging. Too bad she didn't aim higher...

Karen mentioned yesterday that it is a shame that Laz/Jaz scenes are being left in when so many other more important (anything with Jose/Becky) are being cut. ITA. I know it's wrong but I really don't care what happens to either or to Rosy. Just go away.

I can't imagine what Hernan's backup plan would be if Dam went to another doctor for testing? And while I can't really blame Marina for not trusting him at this point, I can blame her for trusting and considering, yet again, to marry Hernan. Wait until poor Bea finds out.

I'm surprised that the twins are still so cold and unreceptive to Mercedes. Time has gone by - is there no room in Marina's heart for forgiveness? I really felt sorry for Mercedes. "Mercedes promises to give her life for her daughters if necessary". Let's hope that was only a declaration of love and not the future.

EMarie, we love Cesar Evora and have commented quite a bit here that we love the actor, no matter the character!

From the previews, looks like Marina is in labor and it appears she might have fallen (Ursula was lurking about and may have put a slippery substance on the floor).

Vivien, please do not let Uni's hatchet job on this deter you from watching. We have so much fun here - keep watching and join the party.

The slaughtering of this novela is very frustrating. There is no rhyme or reason to the editing, it seems to take place at random and if it wasn't for the recappers, I wouldn't know what the heck was going on. Is there something that can be done to let Univision know that we don't like this and do not want to see this happen again in the future?
What is the website that I can go to see the complete episode on the night that it is aired?
Sorry for the rant but it really gets to me.
On a lighter note- baby Michel is adorable and really seems to like DamWonderfulDad. Their scenes are refreshing.
Pester pregnant seriously? Come on DamChulo ask to be present for the sonogram and see the pillow come out.
Marina's pregnancy clouded her common sense. Since when has Hernan been a good friend, weaseling his way to her whenever he gets a chance. Pawing her, invading her space, throwing tantrums that she has seen, how is that a good friend? Chilling.
The Laz, Abigail and Jaz/Lu scenes should be completely edited. Now that Laz knows Fully is his dad, that should be the end of it.
It's true, we don't get see enough of Becky and Jose, especially Jose and his smedium shirts.
Hernan's bullet dance was hilarious.
I was proud of Delfina finally standing up to Fully. You go girl

I only saw the last 5 minutes, and that had me saying QTH?! Marina was breaking up with Dam, AGAIN! And to add to her stupidity, she was telling Dam that she's going to marry Hernan. Double QTH! Why, why, why does she feel the need to marry Hernan? It's not like everyone in the town doesn't already know she's 10 months pregnant with Dam's child. I hope Magda talks some sense into her.

Glad Laz finally knows Fully is his dad. Now, can someone please do us the favor of shouting in the town square what a hypocritical ho Rosie is.
 

Elna June, you really are such a gem. I am beyond amazed that you were able to take all the events from last night's "episode" and sift them and bake them into a delicious layer cake of sensibility. With ganache and brandied cherries on top! It never occurred to me to drop acid in order for this telenovela to make sense. Well now I know, lol! Or maybe Alice B. Toklas brownies? Whatever works.

How funny, when Laz ran off I also thought he was a good runner. He does not have the typical dorky run that most actors have. I howled at your observation. Well, howled silently, since everyone else in the house is still asleep.

No comment on stupid Marina. Hernan was scary crazy during their conversation, as you so aptly noted when he said he wanted to conquer the world. Um, red flag Marina?

It feels like they are leaving in the LazLu scenes insofar as they affect Fulgencio. I could do without the LazLuRosyAbi subplot, but I do love me some Cesar Evora. I guess whatever it take to keep him on screen. "Seasoned sexy type", well said TJ.

EJ, the Northern Girl shooting Hernan's feet? ITA that was rewind-worthy. Best scene of the night!

In other news: How sad that Uni cut two adorable scenes.
1) Oso comes again to propose to Becky. Jose is there macking on a bag of Sabritos. Becky tells Oso she and Jose are engaged. Oso demands that Becky prove it by kissing Jose. Becky acquiesces, kisses Jose, melts, and immediately asks Jose if he will be officially committed to her. Jose is shocked. He and Oso crack up and admit their good-natured perfidy to Becky. She doesn't care; she's happy to be Jose's girlfriend. Then they go out for food porn, which scene I also loved.
2) The crew is at La Guaca celebrating Olinto's victory. Lolo is nervous and talking a mile a minute. He gives Candy a bowl of sunflower seeds to feed La Guacamaya the bird. She sees a ring in the bowl! Lolo goes on bended knee to propose. Candy accepts!

EJ, your letter from Ernesto Contreras is a brilliant twist. It explains so much. You are the master at giving fascinating voices to secondary characters.
 

TJ, I love the scenes when Dam holds the baby. I think the actor has bonded with the child because el bebe always gazes adoringly at Dam when he coos and says his lines. The baby is so cute, even though he is at arrested development of three months old as Emarie notes.

Vivien, we're so glad you are hanging in there with us. You might have figured out that the crazier a telenovela becomes the better the recaps are.
 

Sylvia- OMG! I can't believe those two scenes were cut. Perhaps Mauricio will be nice enough to put up clips of those scenes...pretty please, Mauricio!

Vivi, isn't it annoying? If they HAD to edit (which they clearly felt they must do) they could have shortened the tiresome scene with Marina and Hernan, or cut some of Pester's shrill whining, or left out Mercedes yet again demanding that her daughters love her on the spot. Sheesh. The Jose/Becky/Oso scene was the best of the night, IMO.

Diana, sounds like a good punishment to me!

Sometimes the subplots are incredibly stupid and annoying, but I do like some of the "secondary" actors so much that I'm sad they are being left on the cutting room floor. I know Olinto's story line adds nothing to the primary romance. But I like the actor a lot. He's talented and funny and provides comic relief.

Oh EJ...I love it when you're annoyed. It fires up your creative juices and you let blast with another one of your memorable recaps.

Loved loved loved Ernesto's letter. And ditto everything that Diana said (we were separated at birth like Marina and Magdalena)...in all her comments.

The episode was butchered (haven't seen it yet) but the recap was a work of art. And I too will tune in to see Ursula shoot at Hernán tiny little feet.

Surely it's too late in this tn for Marina to go through with a marriage to Hernan. Seeing Hernan's desperation, he was ready to whisk her off to the civil registry as soon as they finished desert. Magda and Bea to the rescue, PleasE!

Marina is not just confused, she's a confused dolt. In one breath she says she want to be alone, can't love Herny, yadda yadda, but with the next lets him slime all over her face. I cringed the closer he got to her, as he tried to plead his case. He's forgotten that declaring his undying love for Marina that has been on going since he was a nerdy little high school kid didn't work...*Didn't Work*

I think Uni may fear reprisals from Televisa for cutting any of Cesar's story line. Arturo and Nora should be compensated with their own telenovela, based on La Temp. Think how much money Televisa could save--most of the story has already been written and American audiences haven't seen any of it.

OffTopic: Does anyone know if Enrique Zepeda is any relation to David? Or is Zepeda a common last name.

Also, I notice that Fernando Robles name is still in the credits. Is he yet to appear or was he one of the hotel board members right at the beginning (along with Roberto Blandon and Oscar Bonfiglio, whom we never saw again)?

Don't mess with Northern girls -- that was my favorite line from last nights episode. Loved seeing Ursula making Hernan dance. It was definitely a rewind moment. Speaking about Ursula, there is no way she can be redeemed now that she's killed Zully and attempted to kill Rebeca. I wonder how she will end up at the end of all of this.

Marina breaks up with DamFab and five minutes later she accepts Hernan's marriage proposal. Ugh!! Stupid stupid stupid Marina. Poor DamFab.
I hope this whole "fake pregnancy" storyline does not last too long. We are so close to the end for goodness sake.

Laz looked so silly in his PJs and messed up hair. I'm glad the secret is out. Such a shame Mayuya had to die over this secret which came out eventually and from Fully's own mouth.
 

By the way, is it just me or has the font for the sidebar changed? The font looks smaller than it was before.

Elna June...Thank you for that clever recap. I wish that your bullet points could make the Uni execs dance just like UrNowYOuAreDeadForSure made Herny dance. I especially liked the end of Herny's dance when he ended up in the pool that he has pushed so many into..dead and alive. I kept wishing that Urs was a little less accurate a shot and that a bullet might go a little higher. Well, that's it for Urs. Surely Herny will now erase her or give the job to someone else?

I agree that Marina is acting stupid. I think part of the problem is that she and Herny went to the same school when they were teens and that Herny was a bullied nerd. Sometimes, we cannot let go of the image we have of someone we knew when we were young. I went to a very small rural school where everyone knew everyone. I went to school with Al from 7th to 12th grade. We had all our classes together, and we had the same friends . We went to the same parties, dances , basketball games, baseball games, wrestling matches, and we even went on a few dates. He started taking drugs in college , and then he went to jail for selling drugs. When he got out, he went back in for writing forged checks. I ran into him years ago. Even though I knew how much he had changed, he was still the same guy I danced with, joked with,studied with. Maybe that is Marina's problem and the reason she cannot see Herny for what it has become. I get especially nervous when Cracra Herny starts rubbing his face....that's usually a sign that some crazy is about to emerge.

EJ..I especially liked your description of Nereo through Ernasty's' eyes. It is so hard to get good help these days.

And..I had the same thought about Laz..He really took off running like he was in a foot race.
 

P.s....there is no way that I would marry Al. I am not quite as gullible as Marina.

Thank you SOOO much for your laugh out loud recap. I have always been in awe of you and all the recappers, but never more appreciative than during Mr. Toad's Wild Ride of a capitulo (Tower of Terror? Pirates of La Tempestad?)

I really need to set an alarm on my iphone so that I DO NOT WATCH THE LAST TWO WEEKS OF A NOVELLA! I always think it will be fun and fast paced but instead, I am stressed beyond belief at the poor choices our leads make and the "It's always darkest before the dawn" storylines. I was sooooooo irked (as many have commented) over Hernan touching Marina's face again and then the cherry on top: a marriage proposal with "yes" for an answer. For the love of...

And ISTA with everyone who does not CARE about any part of the overplayed LuLaz storyline. The only thing that remotely could interest me there is AbiSkank being outed as NOT having slept with Laz and JazLu realizing how mistaken she is.

Sylvia you are right the stupid Laz plot is shown only b/c of CE. But they could edit down the other dolts involved in this story and keep it mainly with CE.

Gracias! for the re-cap. I thoroughly enjoyed every bit of it. I admit that I enjoy reading the re-caps more than watching the episodes. The comments are out of this world too.

ITA with all of you about the Uni Scissors. I would much rather watch Becky/Jose scenes than JazLu/Laz scenes. I cringe every time I see ShutUpRosy on the screen. If it weren't for all of the awesome re-cappers, I wouldn't even know that the relationship's between Becky/Jose & Lolo/Candy had progressed. Thanks Uni. My poor mother doesn't read this blog (doesn't have a computer) so she is TOTALLY CONFUSED. I fill her in over the phone, or when I visit her. So she too thanks all of the re-cappers for filling us in on all that is left on the cutting floor by Univision. Damn You Uni! I can't say it enough. I am done with my rant.

ITA with everyone about loving the scene where Ursula makes Herny dance until he falls into the pool. Yeah! Don't mess with a 'Nortena'. For a moment I thought that Ursula was going to have the pleasure of destroying those terrariums when she walked through Herny's house.

Anita, I forgot to thank you for the list of Damisms. They are all funny but some are absolutely hilarious. It's great fun to review them.

Aunty Ann, what a sweet story about your mother. I'm glad we're able to help out with the confusion. Aren't Mauricio's links the best? That takes quite a bit of time to post those clips and I know we all really appreciate it.

The best place to send our complaints would be via twitter. You can send tweets to @Univision and to the heads of the Univision programming department --@AlbertoCiurana @ssmester. I've been sending tweets to all three of them telling them how upset I am with all the cutting.
