MARIDO EN ALQUILER – LUNES – Part 1

We see Fernando and the other thugs dump Mario by the side of a lonely road. Later we’ll discover he’s not dead, only drugged.

Back in Teresa Cristina’s action-packed bedroom Iris hysterically accuses her of having Mario kidnapped. Paloma looks on open mouthed. La Loca comes out with her usual arrogant denials, saying she doesn’t even know the guy. Iris breaks a vase to get everyone’s attention and says that TC knew that she was going to tell Griselda the secret. And then Mario called and said the kidnappers would kill him if Iris told the secret. Iris glares at her niece, saying that the only person who would care if Gris were told is TC. Griselda marches in just then and says that kidnapping is a crime and she’s going to call the cops. Idiot Ro grabs her cell phone out of her hands and refuses to give it back.

Iris’ phone rings just then. It’s Mario. Iris tells him to let her negotiate with the kidnappers, causing a look of fear to cross TC’s face. He says someone found him by the side of the road. He had been injected. The couple that found him is helping him. Iris tells TC she’s lucky nothing happened to Mario. Gris pipes up that, since Ro confiscated her phone, she’s going home to call the cops. Iris completely folds. She tells Gris that, if she does that, she and Mario will tell the cops that she’s crazy and made up the whole thing. TC gets that gloating, I’ve won expression on her face that makes me want to slap her. Paloma explains to Gris that Iris is afraid of TC.

Simón tells Reinaldo that everything is ready for the re-opening tomorrow and that they have lots of reservations. He suggests that Rei call Griselda with the good news. Rei asks him not to mention her again.

Penny and Victor are making out at the posada when Gigante and Diosa walk in. Gigante says he brought back “The Laptop” that Paloma left at the beach kiosk.

Iris doesn’t have cab fare to get back home. TC and Ro refuse to help. Gris gives her bus fare, telling her she could have had $5 million. On her way out Gris says maybe they could talk another day. TC looks scared again. Then she starts insulting Gris. Gris looks her right in the eye and tells her to get ready because her day is about to arrive.

Paloma tells TC that she’s worried about the things she’s up to with Fernando. TC mockingly asks her why she cares since she’s such a good friend of Griselda. Paloma: “Maybe it’s time you knew everything about our relationship. I’m more than your cousin. I’m your guardian angel.” TC ridicules her, saying she talks to dead people. Paloma says she saw a ghost all right, and it was Marcela. TC nervously tries to get more out of Paloma, but she says that she’ll know all about it when the time is right.

Antonio is at the posada and asks if he could use “The Laptop” for a moment. Victor says that it belonged to Marcela and Paloma keeps it very close to her. Antonio remembers a conversation he had with Marcela when she talks about a secret Iris knows that gives her a hold on TC. Antonio opens up the laptop and watches the video!

MARIDO EN ALQUILER – LUNES – Part 2

Iris and Mario get back to the posada. Mario asks if she told anyone. Iris says this secret is dead and buried because her niece is too dangerous. She’s also going to get back those letters she gave to lawyers, telling the secret, as insurance TC would not kill her.

TC reams out Fernando for leaving Mario alive. [Why? If he’d killed him, Iris would have told Griselda everything in her fury.] Now she wants him to get busy with the harm Quique plan.

Antonio comes to his mother’s room and wakes her up with Marcela’s laptop. He has her watch the video with earphones. He tells his mother this is just the weapon she needs. Griselda figures out that Marcela discovered “the secret” and then was shot in an assault surely planned by TC.

TC calls Reinaldo. He says she should call her lawyer to communicate with his lawyer. After some verbal fencing, she tells him she’s decided to give him his half of the money that was in their joint account. She says it’s probably enough for him to buy his own restaurant.

Griselda’s adult children need to get lives. They seem to spend all their time wondering what their mother is up to.

Esther shows up to talk with Alba at her office, asking if she’s running from her. Esther is figuring things out. She brings up the lunar and the fact that Guillermo was a donor. Esther says she’s going to talk with Beatriz and tell her she didn’t appreciate her attitude when she arrived unannounced at her home. Esther tells Alba that Victoria is her life. After she leaves, Gloria comes in and tells Alba that Beatriz told her that, if Alba doesn’t tell Esther about the baby being biologically hers, she’ll tell her herself.

Paloma is searching everywhere for “The Laptop”. Victor tells her that Antonio took it.

Fernando approaches a curvy brunette. If we’ve seen her before, I don’t remember and certainly not her name. He offers her some well-paid work to help with a prank against a friend of his. He takes her to watch Quique unloading some boxes from the trunk of his car. This woman admires Quique’s posterior, and says it will be a pleasure.

Then she slinks into Maridas in Alquiler saying she wants to buy some tejas (tiles) causing a big reaction from both Quique and Gigante. Debora reacts jealously.

Griselda does not want to use the information on the laptop. Antonio says he doesn’t understand; this is the weapon she wanted. Griselda says it’s a family story that will certainly mess up TC but also harm Patricia. She says using it would bring her down to TC’s level. Tony tells her HE discovered this secret, and he’s going to use it to finish off the woman who ruined his relationship with Patricia. He’s going to make it public, and runs out. [He still isn’t owning the fact that HE ruined their relationship by so many lies.]

Yes, that Antonio is certainly a twit. He'll never admit that his lies pushed Pati away. Not only his lies, but also the way he treated her when she was pregnant.

Griselda not wanting to divulge the secret is mind boggling. So just let this crazy lady loose, spare Patricia any pain and in the meantime wait for one of your children to get killed. Ridiculous!

Josie

Thanks so much, novelera. I only got to watch part of this episode.

Josie- ITA with everything you said. Pati is not a child, and even if she were, it's still better for everyone, including Pati, if they lock up this crazy murderer. It's ridiculous that none of the people who suspect/know TC is a murderer has gotten the police involved!

And just what is Paloma's plan? What is she hoping to accomplish? So what if it turns out now that TC is actually her sister and not her cousin. How does she plan on preventing her from killing others, and doesn't she think she should be in jail for whatever crimes she's already committed?

Sue- ITA! Tony's continued inability to see and accept the HUGE part he played in his relationship with Pati ending, is why I cannot get behind the two of them getting back together.

How many weeks/episodes do we have left? It seems like it's time for the writers to tighten up some of these storylines, and move some of these characters forward (JP, Tony). They have all of these characters, and it really seems that they could have used many of these episodes to beef up their storylines, while they continued to move the main storyline at this glacial pace.

We could have had some juicy storylines with Max, Ivan, Carol, Elio, Alba, Clara, Gabe’s cousin, etc. They’ve even stalled out on the TC-Jose relationship, which could have gone in some interesting directions. Perhaps they will inject some new life into these storyline once again, but it doesn’t seem to ramp everything up at the end and slap it all together, when they could have done it over time.

I was putting down "Just the facts, ma'am" in my recap without too many editorial comments, but I wholeheartedly agree with the rest of you. Griselda's not using the video is plain INSANE. It's just more telenovela stalling to keep the villain in play until the last episode.

Deb, you can delete your Santa comment from here by clicking on the garbage can beside the date and time of your posting

novelera, I'm not sure how that works, but I think the post has to be done by a registered Google user (which I'm not) to be able to do that.

maybe NovelaMaven or Jean will delete it.

Marido

thanks so much for the recap novelera,
there is always so much going on in the chit chat that I miss a lot.

haha, "in Teresa Cristina's action-packed bedroom"

eww, Griselda should have bought a new phone.

so on Marcela's video, does that start with her saying she is dead, and we never have seen the part where she reveals the secret, so are we really sure about what Griselda/Antonio/Paloma are referring too, but wow, if it is the original murder of her mother, why is Paloma dragging her feet.

btw, the narco's in Santa Diabla used Jose's boat for a drug run!

Deb, if you click on Post a Comment at the bottom of the main Marido page, it will take you to your own comment that you posted before - the one you now want to delete. There is a garbage can next to your own post that you can put in the garbage can.

However, it looks like NovelaMaven or Jean did it for you, because the post is gone.

You can only delete your OWN posts unless you are a blog administrator.

thanks to whoever deleted my runaway Santa Diabla post!
(so embarrassing)

ah novelera, but I don't get the garbage can, I'm thinking only you guys with the orange Blogger logo in front of your names have that option. If you think about it, since I'm not registered, and I'm never logged in, how would the Blogger ever know who I am, the only time it might is when I post and add my user name, but once it takes the post, I go back to being just another anonymous lurker.

but thanks for letting me know that is there, so can you delete any of your posts, even from years ago, or are there limits to what you can do, and are there any other benefits to registering, besides protecting your user name?

Tuesday Recap

Gris doesn’t want Tony to say the truth about TC and Paloma being sisters because she feels this is a family secret. But he believes the information is much too valuable to be kept hidden, so he gives his mom 24 hours to use it, or else, he will.
Gris decides to think about it, but then she goes and hides the laptop in her dressing. I don’t think Tony would have any problems finding it in there, she better delete that video, and fast!

Victor is telling Paloma that Tony took her laptop and she’s upset that Gris might have seen what she isn’t supposed to see.

Gris arrives at work and Gigante explains her why Deborah is so upset: Kike is with a lady client in the storage room.
So, apparently the divorced client needs the tile for a new house and K is more than willing to help. Deborah makes a little jealousy crisis in the middle of the office, but Gris puts a stop to it and later on warns K to be careful, because el Diablo aveses usa falda (sometimes the devil wears a skirt).

Iris and Mario are mourning the 5 mill they lost. Iris is too scared to blackmail TC again, so that means that she needs to think of another way for she and Mario to get money – she might even need to become an honest woman!!

Paloma comes to see Gris, realizes she knows the truth and starts to explain; here is the story:
Paloma’s parents were married when her dad had an affair with a woman named Carlota Valdez.
Aside: the heroine’s alter ego in Vertigo by Hitchcock had the same name andVertigo is one of my favorite movies - this name always gives me the creeps.
Anyway, Carlota was Paloma’s father true love, which made Iris mad with jealousy; she started to torment Carlota, driving her insane, until Paloma’s father had to take her to a mental hospital; by that time Carlota was already pregnant with TC and Paloma’s father took the new born baby and gave it to his sister and brother-in-law to raise (the Palmers).
When TC’s adoptive parents died in a car crash, both TC and JP came to live with Paloma and her family (the kids were teenagers at the time); Paloma’s father had a special bond with TC, which only drove Iris mad enough to cause her husband a heart attack that killed him. Iris spent his entire fortune and then told the truth about her origins to Paloma and a newly married TC.
Of course, TC didn’t want anyone to find out she was the daughter of a mad woman, so this is how Iris’ blackmail started.
Marcela also suspected that TC killed Carlota, but Paloma doesn’t think this to be the truth. Also, she begs Gris not to tell what she knows to anyone. Gris tells Paloma that Tony knows the truth, too.
So, TC DID inherit from her rich (adoptive) parents, the Palmers, but they were really only her aunt and uncle. What Paloma and Gris don’t know is that TC killed her biological mother, Carlota Valdez – but apparently her motive had nothing to do with getting the inheritance faster, it was all about TC not wanting people to know the truth about her origins; and I guess that’s why she always gets so upset when others call her loca.

Tuesday Recap part 2

Pati is with Rei, she thinks he should accept the money TC is willing to give him, because it’s his right.

Clara and Leo are at the house, she is very happy because he’s changing; he thinks this is all thanks to her great care and his master’s good influence. Clara would like to know the master, Max, better, she’s surprised the man came into their lives as K’s rival and now he’s helping Leo so much. She asks Leo to invite Max to dinner, Leo does just that and Max accepts.
Berto doesn’t seem too happy about the whole thing, but Gabe stands up for Clara, by saying how difficult it has been for her to take care of that loose cannon of a son that she has.

Carol comes to see Paloma – she wants the two of them to have a talk about Ivan: Carol’s past and Paloma’s future; Paloma doesn’t seem very willing, but eventually she agrees to meet with Carol at Rei Gourmet.

Ro and TC are in her room when Rei drops by. After TC leaves to talk to her ex, Ro wonders to Elsa if Rei and TC could ever get back together.
Rei has come for his money, and TC is willing to keep her promise to share the money from their joint account, but she doesn’t waste the opportunity to mention Rei’s playboy ways re: Vanesa.
When TC goes upstairs in search of the money, Ro joins Rei. He doesn’t want to talk about his niece, Vanesa, he can’t believe that she’d be a liar, implying that the one doing all the lying is Rei.
So, Rei simply and awesomely tells Ro that if he loves his niece so much he should worry about her becoming a piruja (sluttish conniving tramp – personal translation) who likes to destroy other people’s lives. Ro is left speechless.

Helen visits Vanesa at Fina Estampa. Apparently Vanesa has been skipping school ever since PhotosGate, but she’s not too worried. JP still doesn’t know what happened (How can he not? Does he live in the forest?) but when he will find out, he’ll be more upset with Rei. My wish to bitch slap Vanesa will never die.

Elio is at home, doing nothing, as always, when Jose arrives. Some of their usual father-son banter ensues and then Barbie’s lawyer drops by. Barbie is not home, though, so Jose promptly invites her to wait for her client.

Opening her safe to take out an envelope (Rei’s money, I guess), TC remembers all of Gris’ threats that the truth will one day come out.

Tuesday Recap part 3

Paty and Simon share a brief scene, in which Paty expresses how she thinks her dad has been the victim, both with her mom and with Vanesa. Are these two broken up or not, Simon at one point says that he feels like kissing her, but the way she pushes him to go to work is rather playful, so I don’t get it.

Tony is thinking about the talk he had with Gris about revealing TC’s secret and how that would affect Paty. Daniel asks him what’s going on, but Tony won’t share.

Barbie arrives from shopping and the lawyer warns her that she’s spending too much money, what will the judge think, especially if she no longer works at the hotel? Barbie says her family from NY gave her the money, so the lawyer warns her that she better have legal proof that her money is clean. Barbie thinks back of the way she sold the treasure.
As the lawyer warns Barbie one more time to tell her whatever it is that she’s been up to, Jose and Elio are there, curious to find out, too.
After the lawyer leaves, Jose tells Elio that maybe Barbie DID steal their treasure (you think?) and K will be the right person to help them find out about Barbie’s new wealth.

TC gives Rei 50% of the money in their joint account, but in two checks – one with the sum invested in the restaurant, in case he’d like to pay back the investment and another one with the rest of the money. The checks have been written by the bank but I wonder how they knew the exact amount of the investment.

Jose tells K that Barbie is spending a lot of money that she shouldn’t normally have – so he thinks that Barbie has a new sugar daddy! What if she decides to run away with him and take little K, too? Jose could never stand to lose his grandson! LOL
Jose’s endgame is very transparent, he wants to get K riled up so he’ll confront Barbie and make her reveal the truth about the money, but K is so dim, he totally falls for it.

Rei arrives at Gris’ work, wants to talk to her about the money she invested in the restaurant.

Great recap, Adriana.

Finally! We know what's on the video. In addition to Carlota being insane, she was also a servant. Another thing that TC does not want anyone to know about. So Paloma assumes that TC's mother's background is what Iris has been blackmailing her about. She doesn't realize it was the murder that's the source of the blackmail. Why do so many people dismiss the possibility that TC is a murderer?!

I'm confused about Pati and Simon too. They were definitely flirting. I was happy to see it, just don't get their status.

JP is living so far up his own a** right now, that he is totally clueless about everything. I really wish someone would open his eyes about Vanessa. Helen also asked Vain how she has so much money to buy a brand new car for herself (TC's money) and she acted really mysterious about it. I hope Helen mentions it to Pati.

TC knows how much Gris paid for the restaurant because Gris bought the restuarant from TC. Plus, TC's investigator found out exactly how much money was transferred to Barinsky's account before "he" bought the restuarant from her, so she even has an idea of the fee he was paid to pose as the buyer.

thanks Adriana, that was a wonderful recap,
and much needed as Paloma's explanation, with all of the twists and turns, had my head revolving.

I thought Marcela, standing outside a window, heard Iris talking about TC killing her mother, hmm, and I guess Paloma wouldn't have gone into a long explanation if it was all in the video, but the real zinger is that Paloma is totally discounting the part where TC is rumored to have killed her mother.

Lies are never good, I say spill the beans, pay Vanessa to blab it around.

a little bit of the two stooges when Jose boinked Elio on the forehead with the hammer, ouch!

do you think the lawyer ran home to take a shower after visiting Jose and son?

Terrific recap, Adriana! I especially appreciated your lucid explanation of TC's parentage. I listened to it twice on my TV and sorta got it, but it helps a lot to read it.

"My wish to bitch slap Vanessa will never die." Amen, Adriana. If all of us got that opportunity, her face would be slapped off.

I'm still unclear about what's on the video. Paloma saw it and still doesn't think TC killed her mother? My memory of what Marcela overheard was about the murder. I don't think Iris ever talked about different people than the Palmers being TC's parents. Certainly all of us who watched the novela were led to believe that TC killed her mother, Mrs. Palmer, who was in a wheel chair. What else could be on the video except the murder Marcela overheard Mario and Iris discussing?

I felt like slapping Paloma as well. Everyone in this novela is behaving like an idiot.

1. Paloma doesn't want the truth out, although she is pretty sure TC made two attempts on Amalia's life.
2. Gris - ditto.
3. Ro continues his insane devotion to his Diosa del Nilo even though he's pretty sure she intentionally shot his lover.
4. Reinaldo was ready to give up his chef's job because of Gris having deceived him about the investment. This guy is supposed to be so loyal to employees. Didn't he consider that, without the famous chef, the new restaurant would likely fail, putting these people out of work? His pride values more than everyone's job.

I've got my fingers crossed that Clara ends up with Max.

What's Carol's story? Hopefully we'll find out soon. I figured she was scamming her way back into Ivan's life, but why is she contacting Paloma.

I loved seeing Barbie hoist with her own petard. She's never going to be able to explain all that money and get custody.

Thanks Adriana for clarifying TC's great secret. Tomorrow is Thanksgiving here in the USA and although I had the show on last night I was in and out of the living room. So I didn't get all of the secret.

Telemundo will be celebrating Thanksgiving tomorrow so no Thursday shows. Since I'll be traveling, I'll just post now for a Happy Thanksgiving to everyone. Gobble gobble! Unless you're a vegetarian, in which case, Squash!

Adriana--It's all clear as a bell now, thanks to you and Paloma re TC and the woman in the wheel chair. We were certainly lulled into thinking TC was murdering her mother, Mrs. Palmer. Now we learn that both Mr. and Mrs. P died in that car crash and the two came to live with Iris, Paloma and the two-timing Daddy.

Now I also understand why JP and TC are such un-alike brother and sister.

Here I had it firmly planted in my mind that TC had done in her mother to get the inheritance more quickly. This makes much more telenovela sense.

I'm with most the commenters on what to do with the secret. The one with the most to lose (besides TC) is Pati, Ro and Elsa.

Pati seems to be the one on whom most of the bad luck has fallen (like little Vale in PEAM), so I don't expect any less here. Hers and Simon's little tete a tete started with a very close conversation. Then they got closer and Simon said she'd better get back to her duties because he had las ganas to kiss her. That's what she laughed at and did go back to work. I really want them together at the end, but she's still pushing Tony away verbally (at the Posada), but the eye contact gives her away.

I was very concerned when Gris showed up at Taco Bar and used her bedroom eyes on Gabe. Thank goodness he's "wedded" to the idea of a life with Esther and Vicky.

Seems that we are all sitting watching revolving parejas. It wouldn't surprise me to find everyone back with their original partners except for Rei (and poor Ro who will have to find another lover).

Fernando is just too good looking to be such a cool villain, IMHO.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone. I saved one turkey from ending up on a platter. He or she was crossing the road on a back country road in MA. Today I'm fixing Peruvian rotisseried chicken today (minus the rotisserie--just roasted vertically).

Anita, thanks for your holiday comments. I had a lovely Thanksgiving with my son, daughter-in-law, fabulous adult granddaughter, her terrific boyfriend and his uncle and brother.

This is our yearly routine. I am the master turkey roaster. My daughter-in-law is much better at desserts. So I drive up to their place Wednesday evening - 1.5 hours by car - complete with the candied yams my granddaughter loves and a raw turkey, plus all the ingredients for my stuffing recipe. I also bring my trusty roasting pan and rack.

I get the turkey in the oven by 10:00 and then sit around and enjoy my family. I also enjoy the dogs! My son has two: a huge mix of German Shepherd, and, we think, pit bull, but a real sweetheart of a dog and a fluffy little Bichon. These dogs are females. My granddaughter has two males: another mutt with perhaps a mix of Chihuahua and Jack Russell Terrier and a male Bichon. These four dogs are completely spoiled and think nothing of bounding into your lap whenever you sit in a chair - especially the really big one! But I get an overdose of dogs when I visit which curbs my desire to get one of my own. I don't plan to do that until I retire. The main reason we do holiday meals at my son's and not mine is to not have the dogs left alone while we celebrate elsewhere!

Recap later today. I'm working on two quilted Christmas stockings for a Secret Santa gift.

Sue--Hope the quilting is going ok. We sure would like a mini-recap, before we forget what actually happened on Friday. But 'cmon folks, let's not be shy about discussing the episode.

What I remember best and which I wish I couldn't remember at all was Barbara's histrionics. It seemed as though she was in every scene. It's remarkable how she manages to purse her blood red lips and still manages to show all her teeth!

Unfortunately, I deleted the recording after I watched, so I can't add anything without a few hints.

We know:
Jose grabbed the computer from Tony (stupid boy for going over to TC's without having put a copy on a flash drive). Jose did delete all the Marcela video. He's devastated (duh). I don't think Griselda was too out of sorts since she wasn't going to use it anyway.

Barbara still can't or won't explain where she got the money (it would certainly incriminate her) but she will have to if she wants to make a good case for custody or visitation in court. Her pleas for just being a normal family--Kike, Kiquito and her, fall on deaf ears.

Max confirms that Barbara didn't get the money from him. In fact, she gave him back what she owed him, a substantial amount.

Kike falls for the siren's song (does anyone recognize her as Claudia in Eva Luna?).

Rei tells the staff he's now the sole proprietor of Rei's Gourmet and he'll be staying on as head chef.

Paloma and Ivan's blonde ex (name ?) have dinner at Rei's Gourmet (front and center table). It doesn't go too well. Paloma doesn't believe Blondie's tale of death and dying and leaves.

Surely there was more, but I can't bring it back without taxing my brain.

Anita-

Also, Quique and Barbie did the deed. It was rather stupid of Jose and Elio to walk in just as she looked like she was about to tell Q how she got the money. She then clammed up.

Barbie has once again learned that she can't get money the easy way, AND have the man she loves, AND her child. It will be interesting to see that choices she makes by the end of the tn. I think redemption is in her future, for Kikito's sake.

I'm not sure Jose deleted the video. I think he e-mailed it to himself or Tony or something, because even Tony didn't look that upset when he told Gris what happened later.

Oh, and when Max and Clara shook hand there were sparks, literally. Looks like something is brewing there, but Berto does not seem happy at all about Clara making dinner for Max and thinking so highly of him.

Sorry but this weekend turned out busier than I thought it would be. I just finished Part Two.

MARIDO viernes 29 de noviembre

Gris and Jethro discuss where Babs could have gotten her money. Jethro thinks she has a sugar daddy and Gris thinks it’s her ex, Max. Gris suddenly remembers that Kikito is still at school because Jethro was too busy having his roll in the hay with Babs that he forgot to pick him up. He calls the school and is informed that Babs picked him up. They tried to notify him but his cell was shut off. Gris comments that Babs probably feels she has the right since she seduced him again. Jethro finds Kikito with Babs and brings him back to the Maridas store. “Have you gone crazy or what?“ she yells. Gris takes Kikito into her office so the “adults” can talk. Babs wonders how Jethro can consider himself such a good father when he forgets about picking up Kikito at school. Babs tells Gris that she just wants to have her family back. Gris says she would support her but she wants to know where she got her money. This makes Babs erupt. She’s sick of this particular question. She denies that she has gone back to Max. But she doesn’t answer it truthfully. She says goodbye to Kikito and tells them they’ll go for pizza some other day. Jethro asks Gris if she thinks she’s sincere. She says that if she’s acting, she deserves an Oscar.

Carol is at Rey Gourmet waiting for Paloma to show up. Reinaldo instructs Simón to offer her a drink on the house. He does and she tells him she doesn’t drink. Could she have iced tea instead? Paloma arrives and immediately wants to know what the topic of conversation will be. Carol prefers to wait until they order. Then when they are served she says they’ll talk while they eat. Carol takes one bite and proclaims her choice delicious. Paloma says it’s making her mouth water. “But that’s not why I’m here. What are we here to discuss?” “My life with Iván.” She explains that when they married he promised she was the only one but soon tired of her and went back to his womanizing ways. “But you know how that is.” “No. No I don’t.” Paloma refuses to judge him on how he was in the past. Carol hopes that he’s changed and if he’s not, that she has the strength to do what she did: share him with his other women. Paloma thinks that Carol wants her to share him with her. No dice. She warns her not to use her illness as an excuse to try to get close to him again. Paloma leaves. Later Diosa congratulates Paloma for not falling for the oldest trick in the book. Iris comes in and tells Paloma they have a lot to talk about after what happened at her…cousin’s house.

TC goes into her bedroom complaining about how bored she is and that she doesn’t want to see another human for the next 100 years. Whatever happened with her event planning business? She takes off her shoe and throws it at the door to the balcony. She hits José who is waiting for her behind the curtain…pants off, of course! Their bizarre mating ritual begins with José as a bull and TC as a matador (¿matadora?).

Jethro goes to see Max. “I need to talk to you about Barbara.” Max says they aren’t back together. “She came to see me at the gym when she returned from her trip. She paid back the money I had lent her for a lawyer.” Jethro asks how much it was. “Enough.” Jethro tells him he thinks she has a sugar daddy.

“So Marcela recorded everything on her laptop?” asks Iris. “Yes, and now I don’t have it but I know who does.” Iris asks who is going to drop the bomb. “Griselda.” “God is just.”

Viernes 11/29 Part 2

Next morning at breakfast Gris asks Jethro if he found out anything from Max and he tells her what Max told him. Kikito wants to know if they are talking about his mother. Jethro sends him into the kitchen for some sugar. Rafa and Amalia join them at the table. I must not have been watching the night Rafa moved in. They all wonder where Antonio is but Gris says he left early. She goes up to her room and tells Jethro to be careful after what happened yesterday. Rafa and Amalia want to know what happened yesterday.

Babs is crying at the courthouse. She sees her attorney Monica Ramos. No one believes that she just wants to be near her son. Monica warns her that the money will be an issue and she should come clean about where she got it. She insists that her uncle gave it to her. Babs threatens to commit suicide if she is not allowed to see her son. “Then everyone will know that I truly loved him.”

Uh oh. Gris can’t find the laptop and she’s sure she had put it in her closet. She recalls an earlier conversation with Antonio and it dawns on her where it must be. She calls Daniel who is making out with Sol and asks him to have Antonio call her if he sees him. “It’s urgent.”

TC is asleep and Antonio walks into her bedroom. He startles her by announcing that the hour of justice has arrived. José hears the ruckus but stays hidden in the bathroom. TC threatens to call the police and informs him that home invasion is a crime. So’s murder, but why split hairs? Antonio offers to call for her. “Why? Because I’m beautiful and a millionaire at that?” “No because you aren’t a Palmer, after all. Watch.” He shows her the video. Marcela eats a sandwich because she thinks that her meeting with TC is not going to go well. That’s why she is recording this video. TC wants to know where he got the video. He says that the question should be, “What’s going to happen to you now?” He states his hypothesis that TC killed Marcela. “I’m not going to do anything. I’ll let the police handle it.” TC tries to grab the laptop from him and they struggle. She asks his price. “It’s not for sale. What I want is for you to leave my family alone and to not interfere in my relationship with Pati.” She points out that Pati is seeing someone else. He counters that Pati still loves him. They argue some more and finally José makes his appearance. He takes the laptop away from Antonio and informs him he’s not going anywhere with it. TC looks triumphant. Antonio is in disbelief.

Gris tries Daniel again. Still no sign of Antonio. Daniel thinks it’s strange because he never misses class.

Viernes 11/29 Part 3

Antonio is incredulous that José would take TC’s side over his own family. “This video is the only way of protecting ourselves from this beast. She’s capable of doing whatever it takes so that no one sees this video.” “You got that right!” They argue some more and finally José grabs the laptop and locks himself in the bathroom so he can delete the files. TC is overjoyed. When he comes out Antonio checks and the look on his face says it all. Let’s hope there is a copy somewhere. TC tells him to disappear and forget she exists. He leaves. José reclines on the bed and asks for payment. TC says she’s willing to pay. José says the argument made him aroused. They do another mating ritual: the choo-choo train. After, José says he’ll be back tonight for his payment. He refuses to give TC a kiss. He leaves and TC says to herself, “The file has been destroyed but Antonio still knows everything. Time to deal with him.”

Fernando’s accomplice calls Jethro with the excuse that she isn’t satisfied with her purchase. Jehtro is outside Babs’ house and is kind of distracted. He says he has to take care of something and will call her back. Sounds like she’s spinning a web. He watches Elio leave and goes to the door. Later he calls back the customer and tells her he will meet her this evening.

Clara talks about the dinner she’s going to make for Max. FF> Gabe receives a call from Esther. FF>

Antonio calls Gris and says he gave the laptop back to Paloma. He puts Paloma on the phone as proof. Gris refuses to sink to TC’s level. TC calls Fernando and tells him that Antonio will be the next to visit the morgue.

I'm missing a couple scenes with Babs. Like when she tells Jethro that their making love didn't mean anything and that she wants to see him dead. That sort of thing. She was so screechy in this episode I couldn't stand it!

Uuuff! Sue, you have outdone yourself. I thought I'd have time to start dinner, but I gotta read the recap. Starts out deliciously.

Thanks for putting Friday's puzzle back together for me. I just had a few pieces in my hand and most didn't make sense.

I think I could stand Barbie a bit more if they toned down the lipstick and didn't have so many close-ups of her face, boobs or butt. I guess she is who she is and casting picked her so we wouldn't feel sorry for her until the end.

I do wish Jethro would shave once in awhile. I know it's supposed to be hip these days, but he just looks unclean. A nice goatee like Simon's would do him a world of good.

You are probably right and Tony made a copy or sent a copy to his own computer. He can't be that incredibly technologically stupid. Maybe Jose, yes, he's been away for 15 years "fishing," so who knows if he even has a laptop.

Sue- Excellent recap!

I really wish Q would grow up and stop reacting to situations like a caveman. Let's see what the brunette and Fernando have in store for him.

TC is now going after Gris' other two kids. That won't look suspicious at ALL if Gris' daughter has had two near death experiences, and now both her sons will too. Remind me again why these folks haven't at least gone to the police with their suspicions. They don't have to tell the whole illegitimate child/adoption/crazy mom background story to do that.

Thanks so much for the fine recap, Sue.

And Vivi, ITA about why the Salinas-Carrascos haven't tried to seek the help of the police about multiple attempts on Amalia's life. I guess the only answer is the apparent telenovela writers' creed: "Avoid the serious punishment of the villain by any means necessary until the last or next to last episode."

Is anyone else annoyed by Sol? I don't even want her to end up with Daniel since her behavior with him, if practiced by a male, would cause her to end up in jail.

Although it's pretty clear he doesn't give a s*#t, José has demonstrated over and over again that his children mean absolutely nothing to him. I can't think of a scene where he's disillusioned Amalia, but his sons certainly see him for what he is. Griselda flat out told him TC had a snake put in his daughter's car. But when an opportunity appears (the video) to put some brakes on her behavior, he first sides with her and later uses his knowledge to get money.
