Thanks so much for posting the links to the old comments from 2011, Deb.

The only other telenovela I watched twice was Amor Real. I'm enjoying this one as much this time as I did before!

Unfortunately, it doesn't appear that we get any comments unless there's a new recap posted.

Not, true!! I'm commenting only to say thanks for the link to the old recaps. I just got in and have to grab dinner before I watch tonight's epi. I'll have more to say tomorrow. I've finally figured out how to stay current in the world of Telemundo since CarayCaray has a definite bias toward Univision. You guys are great. Later 'gators

............................................................

REINA – miércoles (en breve)

Santiago maneuvers the truck away from the Moroccan police checkpoint. He pulls over on a back road and Teresa, Fátima and Mohamed get out of the back for some fresh air, water and to come up with a new plan. When they decide to ditch the cargo, they discover they are carrying 500 kilos of hashish (chocolate) buried in the smelly tuns of fish meal (farine de poisson). Teresa phones Chaib for help – he can have the drugs; just get them safely out of Morocco.

Chaib has been expecting the call – he knows everything that goes on, he tells Teresa. He agrees to the deal although Santiago is unhappy at the missed opportunity to profit from the drugs, doesn't trust Chaib and is jealous of the way Chaib looks at Teresa. Chaib carries out his promise and delivers them all safely back to Melilla. He promises Fátima he'll work on getting papers for Mohamed.

Dris hires Teresa back at Yamila – in her absence, the accounts were a mess. She even negotiates a raise and lodging for herself, and a waitress job for Fátima; and Fátima gets her apartment back for herself and Mohamed.

Soraya reports back to Dris with the dirt that bigmouth Lalo spilled on Santiago – that he's accused of killing a cop in Galicia.

Sheila, finally out of the hospital, is thrilled to hear that Youssef is dead. Girlish bonding.

Santiago brings his toothbrush to Teresa's place. We get an artful nude shot of him in her bed. Sweet pop music.

Their romantic idyll is shortlived.

After two weeks, he is frustrated because he can't get work, not even as a tobacco runner. Santiago resists all of Teresa's rational arguments against getting involved in the narco world. Finally, she makes a decision: He saved her life. She owes him. So if he wants to be a narco, she'll show him how.

Teresa asks Sheila to do her a favor….

Santiago shows up at Yamila and the b-girls, Teresa, Dris and Ahmed are gone. He asks Fátima where everyone is.

We get the answer to his question – at one of Coronel Chaib's famous parties! Chaib gazes appreciatively at Teresa arreglada and tells her she ought to dress like that more often.

Happy Thanksgiving & Hanukah to all! And thanks Deb for posting NvMv's old recap. I had actually read through that entire comments section to the end, and even though it "spoiled" some of the drama, I enjoy watching better because I am able to connect my listening skills more effectively.

The 'girlish bonding" was heartwarming, but WE know that Soraya has been up to no good, spilling Lalo's beans about Santiago. She seems like a wishy washy character. No inner sense of direction, no real desire to fight her way out of her situation.

Tere is starting to see the whole dynamic, and that people in her plight are NOT really free to choose. A gutsy gal! She wants to be the one who calls the shots.

I guess we reconvene after the holidays. Later!

REINA

Happy Thanksgiving and Happy Hanukkah to everyone!

I have been so busy cooking and having company I haven't been able to comment until now.

Deb:

Thanks for NovelaMaven's old recap.

I am really liking Teresa, that girl has moxie. To go to Morocco and help rescue a child, get caught by Youseff, the way he tortured her, yuck, so glad Santiago showed up. I had to laugh too when Santiago got the wrong child.

I'm surprised Chaib is helping Teresa the way he is. He is an intriguing character.

About the word "chocolate" I thought it meant like bennie. Is it slang for hashish?

I liked the bonding of the women too. And the look on Dris' face when Teresa kissed his cheek, priceless. He wore his feelings all over his face.

Lalo does have a big mouth. I guess he didn't realize what Soraya does for a living, he was so pithed at her.

I can't wait for Friday's episode to see what Teresa is gonna do at Chaib's party.

Varipinta:

Thanks for the great pics. He does look so much better than he did on La Tempestad : )

TELEMUNDO

REINA

Deb - Thanks for reposting NovelaMaven's recap.

Since it didn't air yesterday, I got caught up with the episodes. Teresa is pretty fearless. Being stuck in a developing country where women are treated as 3rd-class citizens and riding in a truck full of hashish near a checkpoint is no joke. I was on the edge of my seat.

But I'm afraid Teresa may be coming to think she's invincible. Wish she had told Santiago what she was up to before she went to the party, but of course he wouldn't have gone along with it.

Chaib deliberately snubs Santiago. His cozying up to Teresa, even for only a kiss on the cheek, right in front of Santiago is a diss.

REINA

Niecie: you are right about the Chaib/Santiago snub. this is a dangerously macho society. These things aren't taken lightly.
—Agnes in NJ

REINA

Just saw Friday's episode. Wow, Teresa slept with Chaib. I didn't expect that. I'm thinking she could've persuaded Chaib to take Santiago on without sex. She loves Santiago, but maybe Chaib's power fascinates her.

Reina
Not sure I can handle a narco TN at 10:30 AM, but it is an excuse not to clean house.

I ordered the book from Amazon, read the 1st few pages online & it does get your interest.

REINA

Neice:

I was so surprised Teresa slept with Chaib too and agree with what you said.

Why is Driss stalking Teresa? I know he is madly in love with her and hates Santiago.

The convo between Chaib and Teresa about the culture of peoples was very interesting and I liked the English they used too.
