Comments:
¡Dios Mio! I just watched. Vicente the Baptist. It's too obvious that Willy did it. How could Ines do it & transport the head of Vicente in her condition? But how does Ines get around?
Francisca didn't seem all that upset but don't know how she could have done it either. I'm now thinking Humberto.

Is there a problem with my computer, no recaps, few
comments since Thursday?

Anon and All, BiG apology for not being able to post Friday,s recap. I went out of town on unexpected biz and had ?NO internet connection. I was in a high desert mountain locale. So I will post it up today in the last week's blog for posterity. I will note it is available in this week's blog. Again, BIG apologies. I don't mind being without internet for the rest and relaxation, but NOT when I have a job to do!

No problem! Just wanted to know if the problem was on
my end. For those of us who can't speak Spanish,we're
so lucky to get recaps WHENEVER you can do it. Thank
you very much for your time and trouble.

Monday – Part 1
So the hunt for the beheader begins.
Willy comes in to Santa’s house and is surprised that she is not happy to see him. She accuses him of repeatedly lying to her and in particular about his relationship with Inés. She also accuses him of killing Vicente and asks what else he has been lying about. One of the things he has been lying about, Begoña, comes in and hears that Vicente is dead. Santa confirms that Vicente is dead and accuses Willy of being the murderer. Then Begoña asks how anyone could have killed Vicente in such a horrible manner but Santa didn’t say how Vicente was murdered. If Begoña didn’t know that Vicente was dead until Santa told her, how did she know Vicente was killed “in a horrible manner?” Hmmm.

Willy thinks that he can just resume his old life with Santa and stay in the house and, presumably, in her bed. Santa doesn’t agree.

Begoña warns Santa to be careful about what she says because she had several arguments with Vicente and she wouldn’t want anyone to conclude that she killed Vicente.

Pancho comes into Inés’ room and sees the big pool of blood and comes to the brilliant conclusion that it must be Vicente’s blood and that this is where he was killed. Then he notices a letter left on Inés’ bed. He reads it, tells Santi that this changes everything but won’t tell Santi what it says.

Francisca comes into the dining room of the Cano house, which is fortunately now sans head. She says that everybody always gets what they deserve, always.

A sleeping Vicky is woken up when Patricio comes into the room. She pretends to be asleep until she sees him opening the drawer where he hid the gun. Then she reveals that she is awake. Patricio says that if they are both awake, it’s a good time for sex and jumps on top of her fully clothed while Vicky grimaces.

Bert wakes up, sees Santa in his room and asks her why she is there since he thought she would be seeking support and help from Santi. Santa tells him that is why she came. She came to tell him that she chose Santi and he is there and they kiss. It’s a dream, of course.
Just in case we forgot about how Willy was imprisoned and then escaped from the cellar in the cabaña, Inés, who is back in the hospital and still pregnant, has a flashback about it.

Pancho goes to the hospital and confronts Inés with the letter. It was from Vicente and said that he has going to leave her even though she had threatened to kill him if he did. Inés admits that she did threaten Vicente because he was going to abandon her. Then Pancho asks where Inés was during the afternoon and evening when Vicente was killed. She claims that she doesn’t remember and that this amnesia has happened to her before. Pancho tells her to begin remembering because right now she is Suspect #1.

Monday Part 2

Horti reads the news about the death of one of Mara’s clients with satisfaction. She doesn’t seem to have any problem with the fact that her plan simply to sicken Mara’s clients has led to a death. Lisette is shocked that Horti is so callous about the loss of a human life. Then Lisette jumps to the conclusion that Horti was responsible for what happened. Horti denies it and says that Lisette had better have proof before she makes such an accusation.

Elisa tells Mara that she knows that Mara is still having a relationship with Arturo. A knock on the door reveals Cifuentes with an order prohibiting Mara from leaving the state (or the country). She is upset. She says that is only a matter of time before not only is she ruined but she will have to go to jail.

Arturo has hobbled over to Horti’s house. He asks if it is true that she has taken him out of her will and asks who the new heir is. She asks why he is surprised since she knows that he has been carrying on with Mara. Arturo replies that she can’t do that to him. He worked in the bookstore all these years helping to build the business; he is her only living son. He says that he doesn’t want the money for himself but for his son. He says that if Horti wants war, war there will be and leaves. Horti is all upset. She has to take a pill. Lisette is watching.

Vicky goes to see Tránsito and gives her the gun that Patricio hid in her bedroom. Tránsito reacts like Vicky has given her an angry venomous snake. Vicky says that Tránsito is her only friend. Friends help each other. Tránsito helped her now she is giving Tránsito a way to protect herself from Patricio. Tránsito hides the gun under the mattress.

Lisette looks in Horti’s purse and finds a whole bunch of medicines.

George is looking at his video of the previous day. He sees that Santa left the party and went into the dining room without anyone noticing.

Padre Milton is notified that he has to make a declaration to the police. Begoña comes in and tells him that she wants to make a confession – she knows who killed Vicente. The Padre is fed up with hearing juicy confessions and then not being able to blab about it. Begoña decides to tell him anyway. She overheard a conversation when she was working at the Cano house between Francisca and Bert after the fact that Vicente was Bert’s father was revealed. Fran tells Bert that the best thing would be for Vicente to “disappear.” This would be similar to the Willy Delgado situation. Fran says that she decides who lives and who dies. Begoña tells the Padre that she is sure that Fran killed Vicente.

Monday Part 3

Santi comes to see Santa. She asks why he isn’t with his wife. Santi says that he needs her, she is only one who can him peace, etc. Santi moves in for a kiss and in comes Willy who tells Santi to let go of his wife and then he hits Santi. Willy and Santi fight until willy comes in and asks what is going on. Santa orders Santi to leave and says that she isn’t going to give any explanations to Willy.

Paula comes to see George. She wants to explain, presumably about being Willy’s sister. George replies that what she should be doing is packing her bags. Paula asks if he is ending their relationship. George says no, he is ordering her out of his house along with the rest of the Canos. It’s nothing personal.

Bert gets a call at work from someone with a disguised voice. The caller says that his mother, Fran, murdered Vicente and he wasn’t the first person she murdered. The caller says that he is watching Bert but Bert won’t see him.

Horti goes to the hospital for a doctor’s appointment. Lisette is following her. We find out that she has Lupus and the doctor tells Horti that she only has a month to live. Horti is concerned that she can’t hide the effects of the illness from everyone. The doctor says that he is sorry. Horti replies that there are other people who will be much sorrier.

Vicky comes to see Ivan at the bookstore. She says that she is stupidest person on the planet. If she had listened to him, everything would be different. Ivan gets a call from a publisher. They want to publish his book. Vicky is proud of him. She asks what the book is about and Ivan tells her that it is about their relationship but assures her that Horti asked the publisher to change Vicky’s name. Ivan realizes that Vicky is acting like she is saying goodbye. She says that she is saying goodbye – she has to go back to the kitchen. She says, adios and they kiss.

Lisette confronts Horti outside the doctor’s office and asks why she is there. Horti replies that it is Lisette who should seek medical attention – she should see a psychiatrist because she is crazy to be a millionaire.

Bert is roaming around his empty office looking for the anonymous caller, apparently. In comes Franco with an interior decorator. He is going to have an office at Bert’s firm.

We see Pancho doing his interviews with most of the cast one after the other about Vicente’s murder. He accuses Lucy of hiding Willy and being attracted to him. Tránsito claims that she didn’t know “Pedro” was Willy until right before the murder. Pancho asks Daniela if she was angry when she found out about the deception by her family. Daniela replies that her family has been deceiving her since day one and they deceived Pancho, too. Babs says that she is a tolerant person and Vicente’s affair with Fran was no big deal. She denies Santa’s accusation about being involved in getting rid of Willy because he rejected her. Babs asks why she would have killed Vicente when everyone already knew about their affair. Pancho asks if she was protecting Bert. She claims that although Pancho might not believe it, Vicente’s death has hurt her a lot. Pancho is going to have some other cop interview Padre Milton but the Padre says that he has to talk to Pancho about Fran’s involvement in the crime.

Begoña comes home and finds Willy there nursing his cut lip after the fight with Santi. He says that it is just like old times. He refers to their relationship that his supposed death interrupted. Begoña replies that it never should have happened but Willy moves in for a kiss. Begoña resists and then responds and THEN Paula walks in on them in the clinch!!

Santa,

thanks so much Jean,
so many twists and turns,

I'm wondering,
did Victoria give the gun to Transito hoping that she will kill Patricio?

could Begona's confession about Francisca be done to throw suspicion off Willy? Santa?

does Santa have two husbands now? does the married Santiago care?

and Humberto's phone call, the disguised voice sounds like the one Santa used on Vicente.

and Paula walking in on Willy and Begona, wow!

(I'm glad that none of these people are my neighbors).

and I'm wondering if one/some of these characters will take a turn and show us a side we have not seen before.

Great recap, Jean!

Deb, I agree with all your comments.

Franco moving in, the mysterious voice, and Horti with a month left are shocking enough, but what really got me going crazy was George wearing that red sports jacket again! :)

Carlos died before anyone could find out he was hired to kill Mara, and now Horti might die before SHE gets found out. We're letting these bad guys off too easily, having them die. I need to see them suffer!

SANTA, Martes, part 1

Yes, Paula has caught Begoña and Willy kissing! She’s outraged. She wants to tell Santa. Begoña begs her not to. Paula tells Willy how DARE you! We put our lives on hold for almost 3 years, and you had something going on with your own mother-in-law? And who knows how many others? Willy, ever helpful, says, oh, I didn’t think anyone minded my little “adventures”. Paula goes crazy, WHAT? There WERE others? At this point Begoña says calm down, you don’t want to lose the BABY. Willy goes you’re pregnant? Who’s the father? Paula won’t tell, and stomps out.

Lisette tells Arturo that Hortensia is gravely ill, she looked in her pocketbook and saw lots of pills, then followed her to the hospital. Art visits his Mom, who completely denies this, says Lis is crazy. As Art turns away, she walks up the stairs, and out of his vision, almost collapses from her illness.

Lázaro visits Mara, comforts her, but it turns out the restaurant patron who died had been given arsenic, and that’s usually a sign of premeditated murder, so Mara is arrested for murder and thrown in jail. No bail, because it’s a capital crime. Elisa visits Bert, can’t you represent her? No way, he replies, the law firm is just getting back on its feet, and this would sink my reputation. Then I’ll just have to call Vicente, she says. What? Didn’t you know he was murdered? She’s shocked, so much that Bert wonders if something was going on between Vicente and Elisa (which there was).

Pancho is busy interrogating everybody. Somehow, everybody has a motive, and he’s getting a headache. We have Bert, who has his own motive, and is also asked if Francesca did it (since the Padre and Begoña said she might have), Inés is a suspect, Barb, Daniela, and who knows how many more. George gives Pancho a video which “proves” that SANTA did it. It shows that right before the head was found on the dining room table, Santa left the entire group and went into the dining room. Santa at first denies she went there, but when confronted with the tape, says she got a text message saying, Go to the dining room right now. So she did. No, she didn’t mention this before. And she erased the text. Guilty! :)

Sebastián/Franco (I’ll just call him Sebastián for now) visits Bert in the law office, says he’ll need an office here now, too. He adds that he does NOT want to get involved in this family stuff, and hopes Bert will try to keep him out of it. He’ll DEFINITELY kill Willy Delgado now, since he seems to be such a problem. He also remarks at how lucky Bert is to have such a hot wife, who deserves the finest man available (himself). He later has Santa kidnapped and brought to his house. Santa drops her phone. Begoña later finds it, and there’s a call from Paula. Begoña doesn’t answer, correctly deduces that Paula was going to tell Santa about Begoña!

Sebastián is definitely trying (in his sick way) to seduce Santa. I think our Barbie(Q) is well done, and Sebastián wants a new grill-friend :) Santa wants to get out of there, but Sebas has a story to tell, about how he grew up poor, blah, blah, blah. Santa also sees the portrait of Gloria, I wonder if Sebas will tell her about Santiago, and how he’ll twist it. Barbie shows up to vent about what is Santa doing here? But I’m guessing Sebas will give her the boot.

SANTA, Part 2

Daniela visit Iván, she’s distraught, can’t he PLEASE come to live at the mansion? He finally agrees, but on the condition that she give up drugs. For good. She says okay, tries to kiss him, but he says, no I’m only going there to help you with your drug problem. After all, we’re cousins, right?

Sebastián has a new job for Santiago. Apparently some rival druglord is making inroads here in Marrero (how did Sebastián even have anything going, he just GOT here?). Anyway, Santi has to infiltrate the other group. They have a front which is a jewelry store, and there’s a shipment of drugs going out. Santi watches some boxes being loaded, one falls, it looks as if there were packages of white powder inside. I guess we’ll find out what Santi’s job is tonight!

Pat comes home, Vicky’s not there, and neither is his gun! When she does come home, he HITS her, drawing blood. He accuses her of taking his gun. She says that’s right, I did, how DARE you have a gun in my house. And I know you’ve been spending nights and the bordello! He’s not happy with this answer. He eventually throws her to the ground, pulls out his OTHER gun, tells her he ENJOYED killing Carlos, that everything Iván said was TRUE, but Vicky believed Pat, he even has his mother’s cameo right here! Vicky is shocked and scared beyond belief. She manages to get out that she and Carlos were only children when Pat’s Mom committed suicide, what guilt would she have? But Pat says you got this house, and I got nothing! He makes her pack her bags, and she’s going AWAY. Uh oh.

Both Bert and Santi receive calls from the disguised voice saying your mother is a killer. Since we saw Santa with that equipment, maybe she’s calling. But there are still MANY unanswered questions. I’m currently leaning towards Begoña as the killer. But what happened to the body? Yes, there may be a CONSPIRACY in the matter of Who Chopped Vic!

Or maybe I should have said "Who Chopped VR?" (Vincente Robledo)

Santa

this was such a tricky show with a scattering of details, thanks for doing this recap Hombre.

so Paula attacks Willy like Santa did, I know Willy is just not a likable guy, but really, compared to everyone else, what has he really done wrong, (is Pancho even looking for him?) and the poor guy has been chained up for over 2 years, no sympathy from anyone. Santa married Humberto and is going with Santiago, and Paula is pregnant from George, what kind of revenge was this?

loved the scene in Pancho's office when Humberto came in, he just kind of plopped down into that chair with his hands up, that floated slowly down onto the arm rests, this guy can make an entrance.

I guess that since Humberto has the same flashback as Begona on Francisco asking that Vicente disappear, it must be true.

interesting that George's video starts just AFTER Santa says she got a text message. So Pancho has Santa cold, so she poo, poo's him and leaves, I don't see his headache getting any better.

poor Mara, and Lazaro keeps pointing out how hopeless it all is, and Mara asks him to stay with her mother and comfort her, this works for him.

Barbie Q must have been too easy, I think Santa will be more of a challenge for Franco, and I'm thinking Humberto won't like this turn of events with his new partner. (and all of Franco's business centers around the portrait of Gloria).

and I hope Patricio and Franco cross paths as well.

but where is Patricio going with Victoria? I'm thinking it's going to be a one way trip, but he had her pack a bag, did he sell her?

So George is throwing everyone out and Daniela is bringing more people home, it's funny how everyone just ignores him.

at least Pancho wants to interview that other guy, Sebastion, and asks Cifuentes to find him.

Great recap, Hombre, of a real beanie tightening episode. (I liked, "Who choppped VR?"

Didn't Begoña get mad when Willy called his extra marital relationships, "aventuras"? I think she thought her relationship with Willy was more than than an "aventura."

George's film: First, the police can get cellphone records from the phone carrier and could confirm whether Santa got a text and what it said. Second, when Santa went into the dining room, was she carrying a HEAD? If not, then there is no reason to assume that she is the murderer.

Is Vicky the stupedist person ever? She comes home after giving away Pat's gun and then accuses him of consorting with prostitutes and raping Tránsito and is surprised when he reacts violently? She should have had her bags in the car before she made her farewell visits and then driven off into the sunset.

No criminal defense lawyer would turn down a murder case because it might hurt his/her reputation. The defense attorney makes sure that the State proves its case. There is no shame in representing criminal defendants. Bert has a conflict of interest, though. He invested $ in Mara's business.

Do we think that Sebastián fell for Santa because she looks so much like Gloria? It makes you wonder about Santi's attraction to Santa, too. My first concern if someone chloroformed me and took me to their house was whether I was raped while I was unconscious. Chloroform is only a step away from date rape drugs.

Santa
Jean, I was thinking the same thing, in the video, was Santa carrying her bowling ball bag?

Is there some reason other than Vicente opening up his big mouth that Fran would want to kill him? They were lovers for years & had at least 1 child together, we have been told.

I didn't catch the part about Begoña Saying Vic died a horrible death when she was just told he was dead. Willy still is the main suspect to me, except he is too obvious & I think would want Vic to suffer more.

Hi gang! Sorry to have disappeared for a few days... I've literally been making the grand leap from frigid Toronto down to Nicaragua... how happy was I to find that Televisa is fully accessible down here (Canal 10). Now, all I need to do is find out where Telemundo is (as it's Telenovelas, for better or worse invariably seem to be more in line with what I like...).
Anyways, THANK YOU, again, to all the recappers! I can't wait to get caught up with the beheading of Vincente (loved the "Who sliced VR?" reference, BTW...). At this point, without being presumptuous, can I posit my own theory?? Because, looking at things, I think there can only be one obvious suspect-
LAZARO!
My reasons for this are as follows...
- Lazaro has shown some possessive/obsessive traits to his personality, and his most recent transferral of affections from Mara to her mother Elisa would fit in line with this, especially when....
- Just before the murder, Elisa was trying to fend off Lazaro's advances... perhaps by saying that she was already involved (as she thought she was, or was most recently) with Vincente Robledo?? I could see how, if Elisa gave this as a reasoning for her and Lazaro to not become 'encoupled', why Vincente would become something to be 'dealt with' as far as Lazaro is concerned...
And, finally... (though this may sound cynical...)
- Lazaro is not in any way a 'main' or 'major' character... he fits into the drama, sure, but having him as the beheading assassin nicely and neatly solves and wraps up the drama, but also and even more importantly (for the writers) does so in a way that doesn't affect the major and main characters in the drama at all. Ergo, this whole 'slice 'n dice Vincente' thing becomes something that involves EVERYONE (the viewers most especially...), but, with Lazaro as 'beheading maniac', won't involve the main characters / plot points any more than peripherally....
Anyway, that's my two cents on the matter. Anxious to hear y'all's points of views, and my continued best wishes to all... as well as my thanks for the very warm welcome that I got from everybody here on CarayCaray!! :-)

Oh, and while I'm at it... can I say how BUMMED I am at the apparent plot twist they've thrown us in regards to Zully Montero's Hortensia and her imminent death sentence??

I say this only because I've always, always, ALWAYS been drawn (for reasons which I imagine Freud would have had a field day with...) to the strong, powerful, villainous women in these Telenovelas (for what it's worth, I cut my chops on these things absolutely SAVOURING the delicious trio of Agata (Lupita Ferrer at her most gleefully, deliciously despotic, and who was given- WITHOUT QUESTION- the BEST 'telenovela death' an actor or actress could ever hope for...), Ines (Catherine Siachoque- the 'sine qua none' of villainous actors/actresses as far as I'm concerned), and Elena (Sonya Smith- her insane scream as she drove off of that pier with a bound-and-gagged Lorena Rojas as her captive in a murder-suicide attempt pierces my soul still...) in 'Pecados Ajenos'...), and La Montero plays evil so DELICIOUSLY well... (anyone else remember her psychotic Carmen Andrade in 'El Rostro de Analia'?? How delicious- yet mildly absurd- it was to watch her well-dressed sexagenarian Carmen as she went about machete-ing nuns, stalking and knifing senior citizens, and strangling random strangers...). Her Hortensia is downright AWFUL... and, especially in THIS telenovela (which seems, to me, decidedly phallocentric (is there ANY woman who isn't or hasn't been deceived or in-the-throes-of a man, and acting thusly, apart from Hortensia?? To me, these ladies, sadly, are a pretty weak bunch...), I will definitely miss her... :-(

Thank you so much for the recap, Hombre!
"Who chopped VR?" is a keeper!

Deb, you make a good point about Willy not being so bad when you compare him to others - but I guess he was such a saint in Santa's eyes that it takes us a while to aknowledge there are far worse criminals going around free.
LOL about "what kind of revenge is that?" Totally agree, instead of taking down the Canos, Santa and Paula started falling for them, making them babies and getting married to them.
I was wondering when Santa will make an appearance on Franco's radar - just what we needed, another men in love/ obsessed with her.
George is such a nobody in that house, not even his daughter can remember that he is the owner and he should be the one to allow Ivan to move in or not.

Jean, Victoria is most definitely the stupidest person ever - sure, she doesn't go around town plotting and scheming like everyobody else, but she's so dim and weak, it makes it very hard to watch - this is the one sl that I don't care about and it's only because of her.
Santa does look like Gloria and Santi could be drawn to her because of that; when the tn first started many of us made a point of how similar Willy and Santi were, too, even the music playing was the same for both.
It's true that most people have a type and stick to it, but seeing this in a tn, where the Hero and Heroine should be special and unique is kind of a turn off for me - maybe that's one of the reasons Santi and Santa bore me to death.
LOL about Santa carrying VR's head with her during dinner. Maybe she had it in her bag? :)

Stevey, I think Lazaro might be the killer, too, for all the reasons you stated and, also, for the simple fact that so far he's not a suspect. Since telenovela police is rather incompetent 9 times out of 10, it would only be normal for Pancho to chase the wrong person.

"Second, when Santa went into the dining room, was she carrying a HEAD?"

This totally cracked me up! Thank you, Jean. Pancho may be a straight up guy, but he's not very good at his job if he didn't ask this question. He probably shouldn't be investigating his own father's death anyway, esp. not with all the other stuff he's busy with.

I think Vicki's problem is that she keeps everything inside and then explodes at just the wrong time. She was doing ok there, investigating Pat and checking things out before making a move, but she blew it. Deep breath, Vicki, and try again.

SANTA, Miércoles, Part 1

More questions than answers! We begin with Barb, telling Santa to stay away from Franco/Sebastian (today I’ll call him Frank). Frank has his guards hustle Barb away. He continues with his hard luck story, how he was born in trash, but now has this beautiful home. His first love was Margarita. He even calls Santa “Margarita”. But she gets disgusted, tells him this story is like, real cool, but can she please LEAVE? Frank says okay, you win, you can leave. He then has her chloroformed.

Sifuentes tells Pancho there’s no such person as Sebastian. Pancho figures it must be a false name (you think?). So they’ll try to track down this guy, find out who he is.

Meanwhile, Santiago is watching these guys load boxes onto a truck. When they leave for a minute, he zips over to the boxes, takes out a stuffed animal in the shape of a rabbit, and runs back to the shadows. He rips open the toy, and big surprise, there are DRUGS inside! He calls Frank, who tells him to hide and watch. The cops move in, arrest the guys loading the drugs. Frank tells Santi that now his competition in Marrero has been eliminated. Good job, Santi. But he’s got one more BIG job coming up. Santi is disgusted with this whole affair. Frank is happy, except for one thing. His manicurist has messed up his cuticle, and it’s bleeding a bit. He pulls out his gun, points it at her, and KILLS HER DEAD.

Speaking of affairs, back at Paula’s house, she tells Begoña either you tell Santa the truth about your affair (turns out “aventura” means affair, as well as adventure), or I will. But where’s Santa? There’s a honk of a horn, the ladies rush outside too late to see an SUV dump Santa’s chloroformed body on the grass. They just see her lying there, fortunately breathing. Inside, when they revive Santa, she’s confused, but recovers, saying that Sebastian sedated her. Paula remembers this guy Sebastian, he was at the mansion, maybe he’s a suspect! But it’s truth time. Paula looks at Begoña, don’t you have something to say? Begoña can’t do it. So Paula does, saying, sorry to tell you this, Santa, but Willy and your mother had an affair! (I know this is out of order, but my recaps always are :)

Elisa begs Bert to help Mara, and Bert agrees to at least look at the file, see what he can do. Elisa is grateful. She visits Mara in jail, along with Lázaro, to tell her that Bert may help. Laz tells her the police found arsenic, it was no accident. Elisa gets a brainstorm, if it was intentional it had to be Hortensia!! She doesn’t tell Laz and Mara this, but goes to visit Horti, and immediately starts yelling at her. Horti denies, saying that she’s from high society, would never do something like that, but Elisa persists, calling her a pig! She says either you turn yourself in, or I’ll file a complaint. Horti is not moved by this, insults Elisa again, so Elisa starts to SLAP her in the face! THIS is for LYING! This is for RACISM! This if for MURDER! And this is for ME!! Horti goes down, and is unconscious. Elisa gets worried, what has she done? As Lisette enters, Elisa calls 911, send an ambulance. But Horti revives, cancel that ambulance. Why?” wonders Elisa. I’ll TELL you why, says Lisette, smirking.

We also hear that Mara is being transferred to the State Penitentiary tomorrow.

SANTA, Part 2

Bert gets another call from the person with the disguised voice, saying your mother is a murderer. Fran enters, who are you talking to? Bert wonders what his mother has hidden from him, at one point he asked how many people have you killed? Fran purses her little tight pink glistening lips, she ain’t talkin. But the voice on the phone says, ask her about Mónica Pérez! Bert gives the phone to Fran, but there’s no one there. Fran says it can’t be Mónica Pérez. Why, asks Bert, because she’s dead? It just CAN’T be, says Fran. We have a new mystery here!!!

George also has told Fran that she and everyone else except Daniela have one week to leave the mansion. We later see him in the bank, looking at his collection of dvd recordings, one of them says Vicente Muerte, which could mean Vicente’s death! He has a tape of THAT? He asks his mysterious caller for more instructions.

Willy visits Inés, and they each accuse each other of killing Vicente. Willy tells Inés that Santi doesn’t love her, and the two of them should set a trap for Santiago. Santi walks in at the word trap, and the two guys, both with dark hair, semi-beards, and intense gazes, stare each other down. Willy makes a remark about who’s the father of the child Inés is expecting? To be continued tonight.

Ulises tells someone on the phone something about New York. Wonder if we’ll ever find out what that’s about. Iván enters, happy, but Vicky’s not there. They search the house, and find her clothes and suitcase are gone. Each one flashes back to Vicky separately saying something which sounds a lot like farewell. They never thought of it at the time, but could Vicky have just left town?

Nope, Patricio has taken her to her “new home”, the Trebol De Oro. This is where she’ll live, and I guess, “work” now. She’s not to leave the place, or Pat will KILL Tránsito. And just to let them know he’s serious, he grabs Tránsito, pulls out a knife, and SLASHES her face!!!! OMG. She’s screaming, bleeding, and Pat won’t let them call a hospital. He tosses Vicky a sewing kit, just stitch her up, babe! Now you KNOW I keep my promises!

So besides Who chopped VR?, we have Who’s calling Curious George? The Mystery of Mónica, Who is Horti’s Heredero?, and lots more puzzles. Where’s Sherlock Holmes when we need him? Certainly not in Marrero.

Santa,

right Hombre, so many questions,
it's like the plot exploded and is falling back to earth in pieces.
terrific job, sorting through the rubble!

wow, Franco shoots his manicurist, so I guess he means business when he threatens Santiago, so is his place a secret since only Barbara, Santiago, Patricio, but not Santa, knows where he lives.

and then there is Margarita/Gloria/Barbara/Santa or whatever her name is.

Santa is so tuned into being doped and waking up someplace else by Humberto, it's just another day for her.

I was thinking the Marrero police busted the new guys but Pancho and Cifuentes didn't seem to be a part of it. So if you want to be invisible, like Santiago, you flip up your hood, slouch your shoulders and walk away as fast as you can.

wow, the hospital scene was intense with our two clons, Santiago is married to Ines, but loves Santa, Willy is married to Santa but is having a baby with Ines, but neither is giving any ground with either girl.

I'm actually quite interested in the across-the-room romance of Santa/Santiago, everyone in this story seems to be in conflict with each other, but for Santa and Santiago, their only safe haven is with each other.

Transito was looking so tough with that gun, for about 10 seconds, and then later the Patricio face slash, (shades of Corazon Valiente) but at least Patricio didn't kill her. he's got them figured out pretty well, threatening to kill the other, and it surely won't occur to them to escape together, but they do have the gun, maybe they can find someone to use it.

I thought I saw Hortensia's eyes peeking open when Elisa was all flustered, and if she hadn't called the ambulance she would probably still be out.

I'm not so sure having Humberto as your lawyer is a good thing, and I guess Pancho never did investigate what made everyone sick at the Cafe, (they only found out after someone died) or followed up on the cabana basement, or the blood in Ines' room, (is that still there), or who Santiago really is, or who Ines baby's father is, or what's buried under Willy's tombstone, or.........

Great recap, Hombre!! You're on a roll with
.. Who chopped VR?, we have Who’s calling Curious George? The Mystery of Mónica, Who is Horti’s Heredero?...

Yes, how did George get a video of Vicente's murder if it happened in Ines' bedroom in Vicente's house unless George was there filming it?? In his red sportcoat???

Elisa is really not helping her daughter at all. Horti could have Elisa arrested for assault. Does the smart, independant woman that we first met ever have any idea about investigating her suspicions instead of going over to Horti's house and slapping her around?

Poor Tránsito! She really has had a bad time.

Deb, you put what I was thinking exactly right - why Santa wasn't more upset about being repeatedly chloroformed and waking up in strange places - she's used to it. Anyone else would be calling the police to report a kidnapping.

Dollars to donuts, our poor abandonded child, Franco the narco is related to somebody in Marrero.

Hombre, thank you for keeping me up to date with what is going on - I haven't been able to watch this week, I can't wait for the weekend to catch up!

I live you all with this question for Santa Martinez:
HNow that we are moving into a secunda etapa, can we hope that even MORE change is about to come?
How can Santa Martinez resist this (in the 10 years older, mature vesrion)???

SANTA DIABLA... Thursday (epi 75)
part 1

*Paula's old house
it's a joke, right?, Santa says,
after hearing from Paula about her mothers affair with Willy,
nope, saw them kissing,
Santa's crushed, upset, spinning,
I can explain Begona says,
but Santa rushes off to her room, shuts the door,
lays down on the bed,
(maybe if she closes her eyes she can wake up somewhere else)

Begona turns on Paula,
slaps her hard,
you're just not satisfied until NO one is happy,

*Franco's house
Barbara demands to know why he brought Santa here, blah, blah,
Franco is not interested in her jealous rants,
tells her, one more word and I cut your tongue out,
and not another word came from Barbara,
Franco laughs,

*hospital
unlikeable Willy spills the beans on him being the father of Ines' baby,
Ines' is having fits,
Santiago gets it, says she's all yours, and leaves,
the very not well Ines tries to follow,
an indifferent Willy stops her at the last moment,
she falls to his feet crying,
Willy is just not into all the drama.

*the Victorian house
Patricio returns home only to be told by Ulises that Victoria,
packed her bags and is gone,
abandoned by his wife, an outwardly broken up Patricio is thinking,
this is perfect,
he pretends to need some fresh air, but stops, turns, and asks Ulises,
how soon before YOU leave,
there's no reason for you to be here any more, is there?

*casa Cano
Francisca is talking on the phone to someone about Monica,

downstairs, a sad Ivan arrives with his bags,
Daniela gets him to talk, Victoria is gone,
George arrives, kicks Ivan's suitcase, what's this,
he's going to stay here, abuela said it was ok, Daniela tells him,
Francisca doesn't get a vote, and they will all be gone by the end of the week,
(which is news to Daniela),
but Francisca has a look that this will never happen, and leaves,
please, please, please, Daniela pleads,
George gives in and walks away,
Ivan and Daniela smile and bump fists,

*police station,
Ulises talks to Pancho, he thinks something is wrong with Victoria leaving,
she didn't even say goodbye,
Pancho will do what he can to find her,
Lucy comes blasting into the office, yapping away,
shows Ulises the door, and sits down in front of Pancho,
Pancho just lowers his head.

Humberto visits Mara,
he pleads Pancho's case, you're the owner,
and unless someone is found who did it, well........

*casa Hortensia,
Elisa is feeling guilty for slapping Hortensia into unconsciousness,
and Hortencia is working this to a T,
finally throwing Elisa out and telling her never to come back,
(Lisette seems to catch on pretty fast to Hortensia's tricks),

*Paula's old house
Santa gets her wish,
the shadow in her room comes close with a dose of ether/chloroform/something,
and she is out and off to her next destination,

later Willy arrives, Begona stops him from going to see Santa,
she explains how Paula spilled the beans,
but he goes to Santa's room anyway,
(after all I guess this is his house)
but she is no longer there, just an open window,

Ugh... Correction
"I leave you with a question" I don't LIVE with it!!!

Who chopped VR?
Who’s calling Curious George?
The Mystery of Mónica
Who is Horti’s Heredero?
LOL!

Deb, you crack me up with your conclusion about Santa - being drugged is part of the revenge business, I guess: sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, and sometimes you wake up in the woods next to a dead body or in a stranger's house.
I agree that Santi and Santa seem to be the only two people who don't hate each other, I wish I could find them more appealing, though.

Jean, could Franco be the missing twin Santi thinks died? Maybe there was a switch at birth and Fran only thought the other child was a girl - Vicente could have done the switch, too, since he's dead we can pretty much blame him for everything.

SANTA DIABLA... Thursday (epi 75)
part 2

*casa Cano
Paula is laying on the bed, (since her big reveal at the little house got her thrown out)
George walks in and... what are you doing here,
but I have no place to go,
and this is my problem George says,
out.

later, as Paula is getting some things together,
George's abandoned cell phone rings,
she answers it,
a female voice says the Cano's will now pay for all that they have done,
Paula doesn't speak but writes down the number,

*Trebol de Oro
Transito is getting on Victoria for just not running away,
and Victoria is saying how sorry she is,
Patricio arrives and wants Transito to get Victoria all dressed up,
did he say something about a semi-virgin?

later, as Victoria is dragging her feet getting ready,
Patricio says he will kill Ulises,

*casa Hortensia
Hortensia and the Padre chat,
she gives him an update on her disease, less than a month to live,
and he can't believe she won't tell Arturo,
and can't believe what she did with her will,

*police station
Elisa is ranting to Lazaro about how horrible Hortensia is,
she is sure Hortensia did the poisoning,
and in hobbles Arturo, and he wants to know what...
but they are bringing out Mara, taking her to the women's prison,
tears, clinging, and screaming all around,
Arturo gets knocked down, as they finally get Mara out of there,

*somewhere
Santa awakes to the drawn guns of Pancho and Cifuentes,
next to the remains of Vicente, they think,
I'm innocent she says, they cuff her and read her her rights,

later Pancho brings up Santa's story to the Padre about Ricardo's body,
you've done this before,

*Paula's old house
as Begona and Willy work out what happened to Santa,
there is a knock, it's Santiago,
(and what is that red stuff around Willy's lips, from a punch, Begona's kiss, ??)
Santiago spills about Willy being the father of Ines' baby,
he wants Santa to know,
Begona's eyes go wide, as she turns and stares at Willy,
she runs off, Willy follows, after an evil eye look to Santiago,
and Santiago gets a call on his OTHER cell phone,
it's the boss, Franco, having a party, be there in a half an hour,

*casa Cano
Humberto is in the office doing web searches on Monica Perez,
George tells him he has a visitor,
it's Ines,
she is all alone now, she needs his help,

upstairs Ivan visits Daniela in her bedroom,
Daniela is elated, music, a movie, she asks,
I'm just here to help with the drug thing, he says,
you don't have any do you,
Daniela gets real quiet and guilty looking,
he wants to look around her room,

*Mara's place
Elisa is going nuts,
Lazaro is comforting her,
Arturo is feeling helpless,
Lazaro offers to rehabilitate him.

*Franco's place
the party is on, Patricio and the girls arrive,
Victoria is the straggler, grimacing, tugging at her short dress, heavy makeup,
Santiago arrives, Franco introduces him as a special guest,
an important piece of the cartel,
Victoria does a double take.

*Paula's old house
Begona is still ripping on Willy,
for how you stole the life right out of my daughter,

she gets the call, about Santa.

Deb, thank you for the recap, top notch as always!

So let me get this straight!!!
Santa is drugged one more time and ends up with Vicente's dead body (head NOT included) next to her???
I guess she really should have told the police how she always ends up drugged in strange places, huh...
Did anyone else besides Bert and Vicente knew about Bert's nice games with his wife?
Because if not, then does it mean he's VR's killer? Where was Bert when Santa was being drugged in her room?
Maybe this is exacyly what the writer wants us to think! I don't think Bert had too many reasons to kill VR compared to the rest of the suspects.

Is Pancho supposed to investigate Victoria's dissappearance, too?
Why is Pat showing her to the "public", anyway? Is he going for the "hidden in plain sight" trick? Santi is not a genius, but he's not that dim, either.

This comment has been removed by the author.

Many thanks to the recappers! The last time I watched this, Amanda/Santa was pregnant. I got a wild hair this week and decided to check out an episode. Wow. Things have changed. I may have to keep tuning in. Things are crazy! (Almost hilariously so.)

Thanks for the great recap, Deb.

So George's mystery caller is a woman. Could this be the mysterious Mónica Pérez?

Are George and the mysterious caller responsible for Vicente's death? Why would they frame Santa if their desire is vengeance against the Canos? For that matter, why would they kill Vicente in the first place?

Who is Francisca's mystery caller? Obviously, it's not Vicente and it's not Bert.

Did Inés escape from the hospital again or was she released?

Great recap, Deb, thank you!

I think Pat said something like We've got a 40 year old almost virgin, possibly alluding to the movie the 40 year old virgin.

Elisa was so desperate, she was yelling to the guards that SHE did it, that she poisoned the people, take HER away. But they ignored this, of course.

Adriana I agree that maybe Pat isn't so wise showing off Victoria in public. Both Pat and Franco sometimes don't realize how EVERYONE in Marrero knows everyone else (not surprising, with only 1 hospital, one bookstore, one rooming house, one bordello, etc.)

Santa should start wearing a football helmet with one of those new faceguards, or maybe a suit of armor, to avoid being drugged. Not sure how comfortable it would be though.

Lucy had perfect logic. Vicente is dead, Ines is in the hospital, she and Pancho are the only ones left in that house. Why not set the date for the wedding now?

Lucy is the best.

Could Humberto be setting up Santa again? He did it before.

And is Pancho just the wordt cop ever or waht? I know he's supposed to be a good guy, but has mr. jump-to-conclusions actually solved anything correctly yet?

Kelly

Santa,

thanks everyone,
and thanks Hombre for filling in the little bits that I didn't get,

oh and when Barbara was ranting to Franco about Santa,
she blurts out how Humberto is obsessed with her, and Santiago, and...
SANTIAGO, Franco asks,

(and the black gloves and black cloth over the face, when Santa was taken, is the same way his guys do that).

and then he decides they should celebrate,
and Santiago is the main guest.

maybe I'm making all the wrong connections here, and there was this important job he has for Santiago.

I'm still amazed that when Santa woke up she didn't do the what happen? where am I? thingy, but jumped up and said I'm innocent, just like a guilty person would do it.

deb wrote:

You forget that she is used to being drugged and waking up next to dead bodies ;-)

Jean, you're right. When she woke up probably what she thought was : Oh, God, not again, these were my good pjays.

LOL Adriana! I guess that is why Santa wears sensible men's type PJ's instead of a transparent negligée or some itty-bitty teddy. You don't want to show too much skin when you're sprawled on the ground next to a dead body.

Jean, I wondered about Santa's night wear many times; she only wore sexy lingerie when she was tryibg to fake seduce/ drug Bert on their wedding night. At first I thought she was only trying to keep Bert away but now we know that in her case one might know where they go to bed but can never be sure where they wake up.
Her clothes remind me Ariel's pjays in Pasion Prohibida- they were the opposite of sexy, no wonder his wife seaked a younger companion.
So, if Santa ends up in jail, who will eventually come to her rescue?
1. Bert, the lawyer
2. Pancho, the cop, by finding out who the real killer was
3. Santi, by staring into the judges' eyes with his weapy gaze
4. Franco, the mafioso, who will the judge
5. Willy, by sleeping with all the women in the jury and making them plead not guity
6. Vicente is not really dead, that was a wax head and the dead body is not his - he is being kept in a cellar by George's mystery caller

Franco , who will BRIBE the judge I meant to say.

Adriana, I had inserted Franco, who will KILL the judge.

Well, I guess that's it, no hope for Humberto's redemption.

Whoever suspected Humberto Cano deserves a prize lol!
Why wasnt willy asked anything regarding Vicentes death. And what happened after Willy and Pancho traded blows last friday? I feel like they deleted a scene....
Will Samanda and Mara be cellmates?

Variopinta, forget the bribe, I like your KILL version better! How didn't I think of that? :))

All Santa Diableros, I am writing the post now....

Humberto. Geez that makes two dead by his hand.

Novelaman
I am going to take credit for guessing Humberto did it, see 1st comment, because it's the 1st time I've ever been right, patting self on back with smug look.

Santa Diablo Capitulo #76

PART 1

Begona lights into Willy about how despicable he is – he is a plague. She warns him that it is only a matter of time before Santa learns that Ines is carrying Willy’s bebe. Willy wants Begona to stop with the insults already. How did Willy go from heavenly husband of the year to horrible husband of the year?

Over at NarcoMan’s place, the party is just getting started. He introduces the newest member of his cartel, Santiago. The hookers and henchman stand around while NarcoFranco gushes on about Santi. Santi and Vicky (freshly adorned with makeup and a hooker dress that wears her instead of her wearing it) lock eyes from across the room.

Ivan is in Dani’s room at the Cano, er George, house searching for Dani’s stash of drugs. Dani indignantly claims that there is nothing left in her room, so there! Ivan, wisely assumes, that like most addicts pre-recovery, if her lips are moving she is likely lying. The standoff ends after Dani finally pulls out her last drug stash from the shoes in the closet. This was her first step to recovery, Ivan reassures her.
As Ivan departs from Dani’s room, Paula catches up to him in the hall and asks him a favor. It seems she has a phone number - the one she lifted from George’s phone after she answered a call from a strange unnamed female- that she wants him to trace.

Back at NarcoNight, Franco gives Santi a gun as “a necessary gift”. After all, Santi’s work is getting more complex and dangerous. Santi is not amused as he takes it. Franco changes the tone and announces it is not just work at NarcoNight, it is time to play now! He offers the newbie hooker Vicky as a prize for the night. Pat, recognizing Santi and threatens Vicky to keep her mouth shut to Santi or Pat will kill Ulyses. Santi approaches Vicky and discreetly asks what a girl like her is doing around estos tipos. She returns the question about why he is hanging out with the local cartel? She brushes off Santi’s question saying that she is there to enjoy the party just like him. No one believes her, except maybe Santi, based on his facial expression.

Barbi makes her entrance to the party. She asks why Santi is there again. No sooner than she opens her mouth then a bodyguard covers her mouth and drags her out of the room. No more NarcoNight festivities for Barbi. Santi gets a phone call, presumably to inform him that Santa is in the pokey. He leaves in a hurry as NarcoFranco looks after him with some concern.

Lazaro comes to Mara’s to comfort Elisa. She suggests it is a bad idea. He persists. She says not one of her husbands or novios has ever been quite so chivalrous. He says there is a first time for everything.

Ines has come to Bert’s to beg for his help. Bert gets a call from Santi that Santa is in jail. Ines takes leave with Bert, apparently, but not without telling Paula that Santa’s time of reckoning has come - obviously, because Santa is in the pokey and accused of killing dear old dad, Vicente.

PART 2
Pancho and Ivan wander through Vicky’s house and they wonder together where Vicky could be. Ulyses wonders what will become of him if Vicky has really disappeared. Ulyses offers to cook something up for Pancho as Pancho has had a really bad day. Ulyses wonders if Carlos ever told Pancho the story as to why Ulyses left Marrero some time ago. Apparently not, so Ulyses tells Pancho that Ulyses was the shame of the family according to Carlos. It seems that Ulyses had a little experimental smooch with someone and Pancho saw him. It seems that someone was of the same gender. It seems Ulyses is gay. This is news to Pancho and Pancho grows increasingly uncomfortable with the conversation . Pancho cannot excuse himself fast enough from the friendly conversation and meal with Ulyses. Hmmmm.

Back with Elisa and Lazaro and their growing warmies for each other. She brings him a blankie for the night. Laz says their growing warmies won’t hurt anyone. Elisa feels guilty. Lazaro says there is no need to feel guilty or ashamed about something beautiful like love. Those words seem to have done the trick. They smooch.

Begona meets Santi as he arrives at the jail. He insists on seeing Santa right away. Santa and Santi run to each other with the only the jail bars between them. Santa tells Santi she woke up next to the body of Vicente. Outside the prison cell area, Bert joins the party at the Marrero jail with Ines in tow (WTQ?). Ines sneers at Begona that she is glad that Santa is behind bars because she is a killer! Back to Santa and Santi, eh emm! Bert arrives and excuses himself for breaking up the reunion of Santi and Santa. Santa lights into Bert and wants no part of his help. Santi starts to reason with Santa and remind her she needs all the help she can get.

Back at Rehab House, Ivan wakes up on the couch in Dani’s room He wakes up to find Dani missing and Ivan rushes to find her. Dani is in the kitchen rummaging through the family vitamin drug stash. He stops Dani from her frantic search and she yells at him. He hugs her tight and tells her she appears to be hallucinating that Willy is at the kitchen door (although viewerville knows Willy does have a way of lurking around). Ivan tells Dani it is just part of the drug withdrawal.

Speaking of drugs, over at the docks of Marrero, Santi waits for the delivery of the drugs. NarcoFranco sits in the black SUV watching the delivery and each of Santi’s steps. He calls from the SUV and orders Santi to come to the car to talk. Once inside, Narco Franco needles Santi about this being Santi’s first time to traffic drugs and that he senses Santi finds the drug biz distasteful. He warns Santi that if he makes any mistakes, his family will pay for it. Santi wonders if this whole operation is a setup for Santi. NarcoFranco denies it, but who believes him anyway?

Lisette has come to visit Elisa to offer her help against Horti. She too, thinks Horti is behind the poisoning at Mara’s café. With unfortunate timing, Lazaro emerges from the bedroom without his shirt. Lisette is bemused at this scene. Elisa begs Lisette not to tell Mara about what she has seen because Mara is in enough pain. Lazaro has the good sense to remind Lisette that his and Mara’s relationship was never real because she did not love him. Lisette agrees and adds that it was because Mara was still running after and in love with Lisette's husband (never mind that Lisette was running after Santa’s husband, but anywhoooo).

Elsewhere in Marrero, at the police station, Pancho gets a call and rushes out of the office.

PART 3

Over at the docks, Santi spots snipers strategically placed around the dock and calls the SUV to ask NarcoFranco WTQ? NarcoFranco says they are just there in case something goes wrong. A boat approaches the docks and the driver tells Santi fishing was good and he has a good load (or something like that). They unload the goods into the truck. Suddenly a siren sounds in the distance and the bad guys on foot scatter. It is Pancho in the patrol car. He gets out and asks Santi what is in the truck. Santi replays in his head NarcoFranco’s threats to harm his family if Santi makes a mistake. Santi aims his gun and shoots at Pancho who falls to the ground. NarcoFranco watches the scene from the SUV. He is smug and says they have successfully received the shipment of drugs and Santi is now a murderer. He directs the driver to step on it and the SUV leaves.

Willy is next to pay Santa a visit in jail. He smugly asks her what are they to do with her and what will he tell their son. Santa screams at him that he has a lot of nerve after everything she has now learned that he has done to her. Sleeping with her mom, really? She reminds him she gave up years of her life with the plan to avenge his death. He is unmoved by her sacrifices and plants a new worry in Santa’s head. He suggests that he and Santi need to have a long overdue conversation with a vague hint of a threat in his voice (have a place in line behind Narco guy Willy!). He also suggests he will need to take custody of their son now that she is in jail. This is not good news for Santa. Wicked Willy is without regret.

Back at the shootout, Santi stands looking stunned and asks himself what he has done. The other Narco Rats have run off. He approaches Pancho lying on the ground. Viewerville wonders why Pancho is not bleeding, though he appears dead. Suddenly Pancho opens his eyes, removes his sunglasses, opens his shirt and reveals a bulletproof vest with Santi’s bullet lodged inside. Santi helps him up and they congratulate one another that the plan works. It turns out that the trampa is on NarcoFranco, for now! Viewerville cheers that Santi is not as dopey as he may sometimes appear.

Elisa is still begging Lisette not to tell Mara about her and Lazaro. Well, Lisette agrees, but reminds Elisa that she and Elisa are allied for now but that Elisa is now in debt to Lisette. Lisette leaves, still bemused, and Elisa tells Lazaro that the pair of them should not have shared warmies. Lazaro says it is too late – they cannot go back because he won’t stop loving her.

Back as the former Cano place, George wonders why Paula has no shame and is still at the house. She reminds him that she has nowhere else to go and that he has obligations seeing as he is her baby daddy. Crash! Something breaks in the kitchen and Paula goes to investigate. She finds Ivan holding Dani and learns from him that Dani is going through drug withdrawal with Ivan’s help. Paula wonders if Ivan should be doing this alone, or maybe it would be better to call Promises in Malibu. Ivan assures Paula he can handle Dani and the withdrawals. And by the way, Ivan tells her, the phone number she asked him to investigate belongs to someone named Monica Perez.

Mami Fran pays Bert a visit, wonders what he is doing ruminating while she picks up an empty booze bottle on the floor. She comments on the news that it appears that Santa is the one that killed Vicente. Fran asks Bert if he could possibly have feelings for this Santa woman. No answer. Bert digresses and asks Mami Fran, again, about her secrets and who is this Monica Perez? Fran is offended that Bert suggests she may have criminal secrets. She storms out and she receives a call from someone who assures her that Monica Perez is really dead. Then who is calling Bert, Fran wonders aloud?

PART 4

Bert, alone again, ruminates about Santa and relives some past scenes. He replays in his head, Maim Fran’s words that Santa is the killer of Vicente. Why no, remembers Bert, as he relives the beheading of Vicente, it was Bert who wielded the samurai sword. He leaves viewerville with final words, for the night’s episode, that he just had to do it. Duh duh dunnnnn!

Here is last night's SD recap.... I tinkered with the order so that the recap wouldn't be too choppy.

Fantastic recap, Mena. Wow! And what a capitulo. So Bert killed his Daddy. Why? and why with a sword? and why, why, why did he frame Santa?

Any sensible narco would have realized that the Santi/Pancho shootout was a setup. Since when does ONE cop come to a drug buy. Pancho had Santi hands up at gunpoint but didn't shoot when Santi reaches behind him (not very fast) and pulls a gun?

I loved "shared warmies".

So Ulises is gay. Some commenters guessed that. One thinks that maybe Pancho is gay, too and won't admit it but that Ulises picked it up with his "gaydar." Bad news for Lucy.

So the on-screen body count seems to be tied:

Bert 2 - Vicente, the Chauffeur
Franco 2 - Manicurist, Gloria
Patricio 2 - Carlos, Hooker
Horti 1.5 - Restaurant guest, Mara attempt

This of course doesn't count indirect requests for hits.

Jean, I am with you about Pancho. He just got so jumpy about the topic, I thought it suggested his own internal conflict. It would explain his avoidance of Lucy perhaps.

Horti isn't part of the tie, but I didn't want to disregard are female slayer!

That is "our"

Santa

terrific recap Mena!
and what a show!

at the NarcoParty it seemed like Santiago walked right by the whole Patricio (now owner of the Trebel de Oro, who's at the NarcoHouse, with his newly wed wife dressed as a hooker) thingy and only focused on Victoria, who just walks away, horrified.

Barbie is cracking me up, as soon as she walks into the party and starts yapping, she gets shut up and dragged out, talk about paying for the sins in your life while you are still alive.

the Pancho/Ulises thing was strange, it was like Pancho was asking him for a date with his eyes, while he couldn't get out of there fast enough, if only his feet would work, so he might as well have dinner.

is everyone just walking back to Santa's cell, open house, and I guess it wasn't the right time for Santiago to spill about Ines' baby, ah yes, Santiago/Santa gazing into each others eyes through the bars, I have to keep looking to see who is on which side this time.

I think Lazaro just got out of the shower and was only wearing a towel, (not quite the famous shower scene in "La Reina del Sur")

Isn't the NarcoBoat the same fishing boat that Jose uses in "Marido en Alquiler", wait till we tell Griselda.

so everybody leaves the drug scene, even taking the NarcoTruck, and they don't even offer Santiago a lift in his own truck, so can we assume Santiago spilled the whole Franco story with Pancho, and why doesn't Pancho now have dreamy eyes for Santiago like he has for Ulises, and I guess this isn't the right time for Santiago to spill about Ines' baby either, so is Pancho (the chief of police) going to hide for the rest of the show.

"Viewerville cheers that Santi is not as dopey as he may sometimes appear." haha Mena!

wasn't Ivan taking Daniela to a drug rehab place, and wanted Paula's help with George?

wow, Humberto kind of poo pahs around as a lawyer, but when it comes to killing people he doesn't even flinch, and so he killed his own father just because he betrayed him with Willy?, this guy was giving me chills, the Samurai Solicitor.

Humberto killed him to take vengeance of santa omg wow

The whole time i knew it was him because when they said he was dead he didnt show any type of emotions he just did it because santa is in love with santiago and since the beginning he said he was just with her knowing the truth about her plus now he is jealous of them 2 that why he killed vicente to make santa guilty and have her locked up

Santa,

ah...
so Santa is now separated from Santiago and Humberto is her only hope,
wow, this is really dark.

Still waiting for a horrific death for Patricio. I fast forward through any scenes with him because I can't even stand the sight of him.

I noticed when I was scrolling down that someone else thought that Pancho might be gay. I was wondering the same thing too. He seemed uncomfortable around Ulises but I didn't know if it's because he is gay and trying to hide it or he's a homophobe. I'm betting he's gay.

Thank you for the recap, Mena.
I'm so far behind watching, I really need the recaps to stay informed.

So, RIP any chance of Santa and Bert ever being together for real.

Also, Pancho and Ulyses sitting in a tree.... K I S S I N G ???
Maybe that's why we didn't see more of the scene in NY, because we would have realized the gf was a bf; that's kind of a relief because I was sure he killed the cheater (this being Santa Diabla, can you really blame me?)

I have a feeling that transiti is going to end up killing patricio to help save victoria

Great recap, Mena! Very funny, with lots of zingers. Heavenly husband to horrible husband, Narco Night, Rehab House, Wicked Willy, lots more, great stuff!

I agree that Pancho may be in the closet and in denial. I WAS happy that he finally showed some intelligence in his plan with Santiago, whom I've long maintained is actually quite smart, and is the real hero of this entire show.

And Bert is the real villain. Yes, we have Pat, we had Carlos, we have Horti, we have Franco. But Bert has always been the true mastermind villain. Variopinta may have predicted he was the killer, but no one on the show has thought of Bert as the killer at all. They've focused on its being Ines, or Willy, or Santa, or Fran. Yes, I'm sure Bert not only killed Vicente, but also drugged and set up Santa to take the rap. Because now, he'll probably go to her in jail, and say I can get you out, but you have to give up Santi forever.

I do think Santi knew Vicky was being a hooker against her will. But there was nothing he could do about it at the time. He'll take care of that later, since I believe he will end up being the savior of just about everyone. We'll see.

So Monica Perez is calling George. And Fran's friend says Monica Perez is dead. Here's another whole story we have to learn about. I'm going to guess that Monica will show up in person, and be Fran's age, but powerful and beautiful (let's hope). George is smiling now, but maybe he's just an insect in Monica's spider web.

Znh Nunez, welcome! I agree with your comments about Bert. As for Patricio, I don't think Transito will be able to kill him. I think Santiago will somehow get involved in this and be Pat's downfall, but we're a long ways away from that. Of course, I'm almost always wrong with my predictions!

Victoria deserves the right to kill Patricio.

Mena, thanks so much for a truly outstanding recap. What an episode!

Since I am so rarely right, I am going to crow about predicting that Ulises's lover was a guy. And I agree with all of you who see Pancho's nervous response to Ulises's revelation as discomfort with his own sexual orientation. (Though I disagree that it explains his rejection of Lucy; Lucy herself is sufficient explanation for that.)

You are all surprised that Santi had the brains to set up a scheme to get Franco. Me, I'm surprised that Pancho had the brains to believe Santi and go along with him. Pancho hasn't exactly impressed us with his smarts as a detective up to now.

I continue to see Bert as the equivalent of the Gabriel Porras character in La Casa de al lado -- the big bad wolf who falls in love, eventually and against all odds is loved back, but in the end falls under the weight of all the evil he has done.

I hope that Patricio is killed by that gun that Victoria took from her bureau drawer. (I'm not sure if Vic or Transito will have the honor of pulling the trigger.)

So now the mysterious Monica Perez...

I agree with you and Victoria and Santiago, Hombre. He's probably known her long enough to know she wouldn't be a hooker unless it's against her will, but it's not like she could say anything because Patricio hanging around her like a vulture the whole time. And as far as whole pulls the trigger, I don't care as long as someone does.

Also, Willy has his nerve acting all wounded because Santa found love again with Santiago. What was she supposed to do? Keep grieving the rest of her life for a man who couldn't keep his willy to himself? And now he's threatening to take their son away and do harm to Santiago, but I guess it's okay for him to sleep with every woman he can get his hands on, including his mother-in-law.

Well I was wrong about people here. First, it's very hard to be sympathetic to some one who beheads a guy. Way to go, Humberto. It's going to be hard to come back from this one.

And Pancho and Santi! Wow. The whole is way greater than it's parts. They should always be a team because I had no idea the two of them had the smarts to put this scheme together. Pancho isn't dumb, but he tends not to listen.

And my money is still on him being gay, so he's probably not. But why else would he keep turning down Luci? She's adorable.

Kelly, the reason that Pancho pushes Lucy away (other than possibly being gay) is that she's way too pushy. I think the show had already been on a couple of weeks or maybe even a couple months before I discovered it so I don't know why they broke up to begin with. I'm guessing the pushing him to get married thing might be why.

BCF- I would have agreed with you back at the beginning of the show, but now she's a bright spot in Marrero if only because everyone else is so horrible.

Kelly

Im thinking now if monica perez is ines mom that calling she has a pic of humberto mom

What if pancho ends up with victoria brother lol if he is truly gay and now that we know who is behind all the calls now my question is who is she and what does she know about humberto mom

Omg by watching chapter 78 of the novela u can see pancho is really gay either he had a relationship with victoria brother or ge likes him there is a part at the beginning where victoria brother asks for pancho helpto find his sister then they went to his house and ask him if he was hungry and u can see pancho smiling like he is happy to be with him. Now i definetly think he is gay
