Mentir Para Vivir #50 Tue 12/17/13 Sebastian is Going Straight to Hell Wearing Gasoline Soaked Green Jeans While Riding on an Turpentine Layered Conveyor Belt

Aresti Mansion: Sporting a grey business jacket, Sebastian barges into the Aresti living room and marches around searching for Fabiola. Matilde interrupts his quest in order to educate him on the proper way that a guest should enter a home, but he's not interested in etiquette lessons. Sebastian demands to know the whereabouts of Fabiola. She informs him that her daughter is on vakay. She asks what's so important. I knocked up your daughter and we gotta get married, says Sebastian. Matilde sneaks him with a quick right cross, but Leonardo yanks her away before she can follow through with a powerful left upper-cut. Leonardo orders Sebastian to leave. Sebastian tells Leonardo to butt out and find some business of his own. Leonardo steps all up into Sebastian's face and Sebastian swings at him. Leonardo side-steps the punch and knees his attacker in the gut. Sebastian runs out of the room, but not before threatening to kill Leonardo and saying that Fabiola will lose her chance with him if she does not say yes. After hearing the commotion, Nadia, the maid, runs into the room to comfort Matilde. Leave me alone, screams Matilde! Leonardo wants to know who the identity of the guy he kneed just in case there's a lawsuit. Nadia tells him that he just kicked Sebastian Sanchez Bratt-on.

Casa Bonita Hotel Kitchen: Cesar and Ruben have a debate on whether or not Fabiola should marry for love or for shot-gun. Cesar thinks that she should marry for love. Ruben doesn't understand the concept of marrying for non-mercenary reasons. People really marry for love? Yeah, says Cesar. Cesar thinks they should let Fabiola make her own decision. Ruben agrees with Cesar, but says that they will have to speak with Matilde first. Lucina interrupts the conversation and Cesar leaves for work. She orders two coffees from the cook. Ruben asks about her covert conversations with Manolo about some chick named Oriana. She says it's complicated and changes the subject back to him. He says that he needs her advice, but she says that she will talk to him later. She has to impress some new tourists that are staying at the hotel.

Baja de Kino, Sonora: Ricky and Oriana are sitting by a Lake Michigan-sized pool reviewing the documents that she pilfered from Jose Luis' computer. For thirty seconds, Ricky manages to feign interest in the investigation before moving in for a smoochie poo; Oriana gives him all the kisses that he wants. He notes that the house is empty and suggests they get they engage in a little freakiness. They end up in the living room, groping one another, on the couch in front of a tank filled with disinterested gold fish.

Art Studio: Leonardo tells his grandfather about how he put a beat-down on Sebastian. Leonardo can't believe that the object of his affection is knocked up, but not by him. Grandpa says that the family is weird and mentions that they are related to Francisco Castro. He doesn't want to gossip because he doesn't know all of the facts yet.

Aresti Mansion: The maid thanks Mariano for coming to see hysterical Matilde. Matilde is surprised to learn that Mariano is already aware that Fabiola is preggers. She wants to know why he didn't tell her. Mariano explains that Sebastian asked Fabiola to marry her, but she refused. Matilde wants to know where her daughter is. She needs to degrade talk to her and convince her to marry Sebastian. Fabiola has to pay for her mistake. Mariano says that marriage is not a punishment and refuses to get involved. Mariano gets up to leave. Matilde follows him to the door and tells him that he is not a priest, he's a demon. He's probably got 666 tatooed under his hair. She yells and screams, but it doesn't matter. He's the anti-Christ! She then calls her husband to tell him that Fabiola's baking Sebastian's biscuit. He knows too! OMGosh! She blames him for their daughter's condition, so he hangs up on her. She calls Cesar at work and demands that he come home immediately.

Later, in her bedroom, Matilde wants Cesar to convince his sister to marry Sebastian. She blames Ruben and Paloma for guilting her into letting her daughter go to parties and outdoors. Cesar says that Fabiola does not love Sebastian and implores his mother to allow Fabiola to make her own decisions. Let her marry someone who loves her. What's love have to do with it? Cesar says that Sebastian is up to something. He doesn't believe that he wants to marry his sister for love. Cesar refuses to help and leaves.

Ruben enters the bedroom. Matilde wants to force her daughter to marry the father. She doesn't want the neighbors to talk about Fabiola or the family. Ruben asks if Matilde will force Fabiola to marry Sebastian. Matilde doesn't know. She suggests adoption. They sit on the bed and cry together. He holds her hand. He tells her to face that fact that she has lost control of the children. They are grown now.

Trifecta of Evil Headquarters: Jose Luis tells Joaquin that Sebastian knocked up a girl from an important family. They probably won't be able to use Sebastian because Matilde is gonna cause a scene. Joaquin wants Jose Luis to act as President of Caribbean Investment Company. Jose Luis says that he wants to retire. Joaquin reminds Jose Luis that he saved his life, gave him money, got him out of Columbia, changed his identity and got his charges dropped against Oriana. Joaquin says that he was stupid for getting involved with Sebastian. Joaquin threatens Jose Luis and then hangs up on him. Jose Luis passes the blame buck to Antonio. Antonio reminds Jose Luis that he is the one who chose Sebastian as the president. Anyways, if they get rid of Sebastian, he might tell others about the money laundering operation. Jose Luis is pissed that he opened his trap. Antonio says it was the only way he could get Sebastian on board. Jose Luis suggests that Antonio act as VP. Antonio believes that Jose Luis doesn't want to do it because he doesn't want to a paper trail to lead to him. Jose Luis says that they should find out if anyone else is interested in Fabiola and kill him. Antonio says that he has never killed anyone. Jose Luis says that he has never killed anyone, but he has had people killed. He doesn't want to get his hands dirty. Jose Luis tells him that there are many companies that launder money all over the world. Jose Luis thumps Antonio on the head several times. He tells him to think about being a millionaire. This business will make him rich man. They will make Mr. Trejo Bonfil the president. If anything happens, he will take the blame.

Baja de Kino, Sonora: During a romantic walk on the beach, Ricky and Oriana discuss her legal troubles. She doesn't think that she can get out of the identity theft charges. Ricky gets a call from the Maria's doctor. Begnigno signed the papers and she will have brain surgery tomorrow afternoon. Since Ricky cheers Maria up, can he come see her? Ricky agrees. After hanging up, Ricky tells Oriana that Fabiola is preggers by Sebastian, but she refuses to marry him. Oriana thinks it's a good thing.

Outdoor Cafe: The Trifecta of Evil is discussing strategy for getting Fabiola to return and marry Sebastian. If he asks her again nicely, he's sure that she'll agree. He's a catch! Why wouldn't she? Sebastian calls Fedelia's house, but Fermin tells him that the every one's at the family reunion and he wasn't invited to attend. Oh...my bad, says Fermin. The reunion was for blood relatives only. He calls Fedelia, but she lies and tells him that she doesn't know who or where Fabiola is. Sebastian smells a rat.  He can't prove it because he's never been to that property and doesn't know where his family is. After hanging up with Fedelia, Sebastian tells Jose Luis and Antonio that he thinks that Fabiola ran off with Paloma and they are at Fedelia's beach house. Jose Luis is certain that Oriana and Rhodalina are there with them. Sebastian believes that Mariano knows where they are. Antonio says that Mariano won't talk. Sebastian suggests that they beat it out of him or kill him. Jose says that it's bad business to put a beat-down on a priest. The priest is off limits.

Baja de Kino, Sonora: Fabiola enters the kitchen and removes a butcher knife from the cutlery block. Later, while sitting atop a rock overlooking the crashing waves of the sea, she slits her wrist. Across the beach, Ricky rips himself from his lover's arms and sprints towards Fabiola. In super-hero fashion, he tears off his shirt, (displaying an awesomely toned torso) and uses as a tourniquet to stop the bleeding as Fabiloa pleads with him to leave her alone. Followed closely by Oriana, Ricky picks up the despondent teenager and runs towards the SUV. After depositing her in the back seat, he orders Oriana into the vehicle and they speed off to the hospital. Ricky carries Fabiola into the emergency room and demands that she be seen by a doctor immediately.

It was just a superficial wound...a little cry for help!  Nothing to worry about!  The hospital doesn't send her to the psych ward, but five minutes later, Fabiola's wrist was bandaged and they are all back home from the hospital. Oriana and Marilu escort Fabiola into the house, while Ricky (now wearing the bloody shirt...GGGEEERRRROOOOSSSS!) stops to tell Paloma and Fedelia that Fabiola tried to off herself. Fedelia is apalled!  That was a brand new cutlery set! Ricky tells the bitties that Maria is have surgery tomorrow and he's gotta go back. Ricky learns that Paloma has told Fedelia everything about Oriana and Jose Luis.

Meanwhile, in the bedroom, Oriana and Marilu tend to Fabiola. She pushes them away and jumps into the shower fully clothed. While Fabiola falls sobbing on the shower floor, Oriana and Marilu leave the suicidal teenager alone and take the opportunity to gossip about her at the dining room table. Oriana doesn't think she'll try it again. Marilu's not so sure that this wasn't the old "slit my wrist so that Ricky can carry me against his muscular, naked chest" trick. Marilu goes on to explain that she and Ricky broke up and she left town so that he would miss her. When she returned, he was involved with Oriana. At first Marilu was going to fight for him, but Oriana was nice to her. That's when she decided the Oriana and Ricky belonged together and she wouldn't interfere. Ummmmmmm. I predict that this chick is a psycho. I don't know why, but I can't stand her. She's tooooooooooooooooooo good.

After changing his shirt, Ricky meets Raquel outside for some more cuddles. He's leaving early in the morning to attend Maria's surgery. He wants Oriana to talk to Fabiola about how wonderful it is to have a child. Look at the joy it has bought him. He's afraid that Sebastian and Jose Luis will come take Oriana, Rhodalina and Fabiola. He tells Jacinto, the guard, to hire 10 armed men to guard the beach house. No one can enter the house unless Oriana approves it.

Casa Bonita Hotel: Ruben and Cesar discuss how desperate Matilde is acting. They both agree that Fabiola should make her own decision. Once again, Lucina interrupts the conversation. She calls Lupe for a round of sangrias and invites the father and son to sit down. Ruben tells Lucina that his daughter is preggers, but turned down Sebastian. Lucina is thrilled. She tells the men that Fabiola should snip Sebastian if he raped her.

Later, as Lucina is removing her make-up, Raquel is trying to trick her into revealing where Oriana is. She shows Lucina the bracelet Jose Luis bought her and says that she doesn't want to turn out like Lucina. She makes fun of Gabriel not ever buying Lucina anything.  Lucina tells her that Jose Luis is in love with his wife and child. Raquel says that he only loves Rhodalina.   After getting nowhere, she palms Lucina's cell phone dials Oriana's phone number.  The phone has been disconnected.

Church: Sebastian visits the priest and demands to know where Fabiola is. Mariano wants to know if Sebastian raped Fabiola. He also asks if he wants to marry her because she will inherit from Paloma. Sebastian grabs the priest and punches him. The priest turns the other cheek and allows Sebastian to strike him again. After Sebastian knocks him to the ground, Mariano gets up and tries picking up his Bible. Sebastian grabs him again and goes in for the third hit, but Mariano has no more cheeks to turn. Enraged, Mariano punches him twice in the gut and grabs Sebastian by the neck and slams him against the wall.

Padre should have turned his other cheeks...and MOONED Sebastian. Ha! I'm looking forward to watching that evil creepy brat get a beatdown.

Thanks muchomucho, Cynderella.

Cynderella thanks so much for the recap. Your asides were fun. SebaNada continues to on his path to the dark side.

I hope Fabi tells someone/anyone she was raped and that this information will stop the madness of her marrying her rapist.

Thank you, Cynderella.
Mariano needs to give Seb a good beating, it's fully deserved.

Funny how you notice that Ric doesn't care about much other than smooching with Oriana every chance he gets. If that means having to deal with all her legal problems and personal drama, then so be it, I guess.

Thanks, Cynderella. This was excellent.

I fully expect Mathilde's anger management deficiency to show as soon as Fabiola gets home. She is blind as a bat if she is willing to put up with Sebastian as a son-in-law.

Not to mention he is becoming a criminal.

I also wonder if Fabiola realizes she was raped. Many girls her age have a pretty distorted view of this and considering she has a helicopter mother who probably never taught her a thing about sex, she is in a worse place than she knows.

Gracias, Cynderella! My local Uni station decided to randomly show five full minutes of commercials during the last five minutes of the show, so I missed the Raqui-Lucina scene, and most important, the Sebas-Padre beatdown scene! Hopefully, they'll show some of it at the start of tonight's episode.

Fabi needs to speak to a counselor. She is not dealing with this well. I don't even think she's processed what her various options are yet. She can't get past being scared sh!tless about how her mother will react. I think once she gets past that, she'll be able to think more clearly about what SHE wants to do.

I'm glad all the women and Cesar have squashed the "marry Sebastard" idea. And isn't it interesting how Leo and Lucina both first assumed that Sebas raped Fabi? Loved how Lucina said that if a guy raped her daughter, she'd first go and cut off his member. Maybe she'll inspire Ruben to talk to his daughter to find out what really happened-- and thenhe can go punch Sebas' lights out. I would love it if the entire male cast put a beatdown on that little turd-- Leo, Ricky, Pierro, Padre, Cesar, Ruben, and even JL and Antonio because they think he's a dumba**.

Cyndy, that title though. ROFL! Yeah, hitting Mariano is kind of gauche, especially the priest of plaid and common -sense.

It's odd but probably purposeful by the writers to have Sebastian and Matilde the only ones supporting a Fabi shotgun boda. It sounds odd but I don't like this story line, esp how JL was using Fabi's pregnancy for his money laundering scheme, so I hope the writers opt to make Fabi miscarry-nonviolently.

Cynderella, amiga, I LOVED the recap. You had me laughing once again. :))

My biggest hope is that Fabiola will find the ability to speak up and say what has happened and how this is affecting her. She has been stifled for so long, I don't think she knows how to express her own feelings. She is more worried about what her mother wants her to say versus about what she, Fabiola, needs to say.

She is crying out for help, but just can't talk. I suspect that at some point, the words will come flowing in a torrent. One can only hope.

The other thing that has me worried: Ric said that the guards were not to let anyone in without Oriana's approval. Not so sure that I trust Oriana's judgement here. She has a pretty sorry track record with JL in terms of succumbing to what JL wants not to mention that Rhodalina does a good job of twisting her mother around her little finger.

Gotta say again that I love Gramps. I think he already knows more than he is telling. Good for him!!

Sabenada sure does say he wants to kill people with such ease, doesn't he?

Fatima

Sebastian is a serious creep. This young actor has a great villainous future ahead of him.

The padre will probably suffer tremendous guilt over any harm that might come to that little snake in the grass at the top of tonight's episode. But he shouldn't.

Urban,I Agree.

Fatima

Vivi - ITA it is interesting that the two characters with a great deal of common sense first thought that Seb raped Fabi. I'm also really hoping your fantasy beat down comes to pass on him right before he's framed to go to jail.

Fatima - Hopefully either b/c of her suicide attempt or through counseling Fabi will start talking. And yes Oriana has not displayed good judgement with regard to JL. The way his threats escalate w/her and how he shook Lina a few episodes back, she should have moved out earlier.

If JL's kidnapping plot is successful, I don't think Lina will be as compliant as he thinks she will. He'll become violent and she'll try to escape. And self-centered Raquel will help her try to leave.

Karen, excellent points. Thank you. :))

Fatima

Gracias, Cynderella for your astute snarkiness in this recap!

Sebastian really is an idiot if he thinks he can (a) act like a decent human being long enough to get Fabiola to like him again, let alone agree to marry him and (b) get the upper hand on Padre Plaid. Hello...his office/study is also a gym!

I hope Ric's going to change his shirt before he leaves...QTH with him just wandering around in a bloody shirt?

Great re-cap Cynderella... Vivi in D.C., we have the same Univison local feed. ( We get all the D.C. Univ. commercials, here in RVa.) So I missed the last 5 min too....

Seems like this TN is starting to drag a bit....the action has slowed some.

Fabpregola atempting suicide, and being release from the hospital with no psych ward visit. Sounds like she has the Afluenza Illness, and gets special treatment. (Even in Mexico)

Thanks Cynderella, it was difficult show to make too much fun of, but I knew when Ric tore off his shirt that you would show your appreciation.

I was sort of laughing at Sebastian picking a fight with Mariano because Skinny Sebastian, who never works out, would be no match for Mariano. I hope there is more to the beatdown tomorrow and that we are treated to the rest of it. (just don't kill him, padre)

Karen, good points about JL kidnapping Alina. She will not be tolerant of it and he won't be able to win her over this time.

The actor playing Sebastian is doing an excellent job. Nowhere near fake and overacted.

One profane word was edited out at the end. Was it 'maricon'?

Cynderella - Excellent recap. Enjoyed all the details and snark. Love "Sanchez Bratt-on." ITA on a suicidal person being released so soon. They need to get her in group therapy right away.

When JL told Sebas that Padre Plaid was also a man and could give him a "paliza" if Sebas messed with him, I had hoped this was foreshadowing and I'd get to see a Sebas whipping. Dang, Univision for snipping it for commercials. Hope they repeat it tomorrow.

Ricky, you put the blood-stained shirt back on. Really? You do indeed need a man-servant.

Having 10 guards seems excessive to me, but now that I think about it Fidelia's vacation home is too open. They would need a helicopter flying overhead to detect an intruder.

I guess Ricky could have asked the hospital for some scrubs to wear back home, but I guess he figured the bloody shirt was good enough for the short ride back. Maybe the nurses at the hospital told him there were no scrubs available, so that they could walk him walk around shirtless.

Oh, and I thought it was actually a nice moment when Ruben and Mati stopped arguing and just sat, while Ruben held her hand and she cried (about how her daughter's teen pregnancy will affect her).

Cynerella: I am LOL at that title!!! As flagrant as those green jeans and effing ratitude of his.

Vivi, I agree with you about Ruben and Maddy having a nice scene when they just sat and cried together.
It's never pretty to have ones daughter pregnant at 17 - no matter who is to blame (in my opinion: Seb, Fabi, Maddy and Ruben).

I also agree the show lost a great opportunity to have the galan shirtless. They always use silly tricks, like have the poor guys wear unbottoned shirts, but when a real opportunity appears with Ric, they make him wear dirty clothes...

Some more great snarkisms in this one, amiga!

"Sebastian Sanchez Bratt-on"
"Trifecta of Evil"
"Fabiola should marry for love or for shot-gun"
"Ruben doesn't understand the concept of marrying for non-mercenary reasons" (An 11+ on a snark scale of 1-10)
"Mariano has no more cheeks to turn"

Snickering all the way through this one.
~~~~~
I kept thinking at the last what's Papi Plaid been working out with that damned punching bag for if all he's going to do is become one himself.
Signs that I am getting old.
I forget that I was the one that recapped last night's episode.
I hate to find out what Jose Luis will do to Sebastian when he finds out that he disobeyed his order "not to touch the priest". Well, if he lives from the beat-down the priest is giving him.
Julia, I am too mature for mooning jokes.....NOT! That was cute.
Vivi, I noticed that ALL of the women didn't want her married to Sebastian as well. He's never done anything crazy to any of them, so I didn't get that hostility towards them.
I don't think that Fabiola cares about "the rape". I think she's upset because he denied the baby was his, told her he didn't love her and said she was easy. She never mentions that he forced himself on her. She just repeats those points.
JoseAngel,
I can't tell you what was edited out. My cc's are horrible. I get half of the conversation sometimes. Luckily, I now know enough words to know what was actually said sometimes.
OK, my mother and grandmother were RNs. I was told that blood and fluids are extremely dangerous. Where is Carlos? I don't think the doctor would have told him to put somebody else's blood back on his body. Gross!
Yes; it was "maricon."
OK, one more and I'm done! Does Marilu disturb anyone else? Something is wrong with that? I have an aunt like that who always wants to remain friends with her ex-boyfriends and their new women. It NEVER works out! NEVER! Her ex-husband's new wife set my aunt's boyfriend up with her best friend who he ended up marrying! She was devastated, but she still keeps wanting to be "friends" with all of her exes.
Whatever. I don't trust Marilu and I don't know why. It's fake. She's too go to be true! If she left Ricky to get his attention, it only means that she came back because she wanted his attention again. She cannot possibly be happy knowing that the man that she loves is giving ALL of his attention to Oriana.
OK, off of my soapbox. No, I am back on. If I am not right, all of the writers are men and they can't know how devious a woman can be if she's pissed.
OK, back off. Everyone can cuss me out now. LOL
Hi Gang! I loved the recap!
I was so happy when Leonardo sent Seba to the floor. Seba gave about a good impression bou himself. I think after this tender meeting Leo saw the Seba is what a jerk. Seba is a neuropath, he want to kill everybody: Ricardo, Leo.
I loved the smile of protagonists across the aquarium into the camera, like in the 17. episode, but there was showed straight, there was nothing other object.
Is Luis Gatica' s character a mute person? We never hear him to speak. We only saw with easy A-s. :) One is sure, he has to do with the organisation, and finally, ha isn't a driver or a hacienda worker.
Fabi's scene was so hard, we could see the drop of bloods. And the bloody shirt, for me it was farcical, I can't imagine that I am wandering comfortably in a bloody clothes.
The relativas also fear Paloma from the bad news, but now they said smoothly the suicide attempt.
Maricon is a very dangeorous word in TNLand. The characters hit because of this. As in LFDD, once Saul called David "maricon" and David punches him. What does it mean exactly,(????) because I remembered in Hungarian language maricon always was translated with other and other words. Attacking a priest is a very daring thing, Seba will burn in the fires of hell.
I looked it up. It's the derogatory name for homosexual. Maricon
Yeah, that word was frequently used in LFDD and Uni removed them, as well as a few sexual phrases. I have a partial list if anyone's interested.
Yeah, JoseAngel, I was so interested in this list! :)
I'll post a partial list here at 11pm ET. I can only remember these at the top of my head. Keep in mind that I stopped writing these trivial things after ADP ended, so anything after that I don't have.
Juan Jaime: Te pareces como un (marica) (ep 1)
Saul: (Me lo eche) (ep 90)
El gordo: Tampoco te lo (tiraste) (ep 97)
Holy cow!! I can't believe that the idiot Mr. Green Jeans used the word "maricon"!! Especially since Padre Plaid (sorry, am blanking on his name at the moment) is gay in real life! Is this why they broke to commercial?
I learned that word from one of my university classmates. He said it (jokingly, he claimed) to another guy and they got into a fight right then and there.
AlejoP, I, too, am beginning to wonder if Seba is a sociopath or someone with a personality disorder. He wants to kill people for any and all reasons. The words just come smoothly out of his mouth. What a jerk.
Fatima
Yep, maricon or marica is used as an offense for gay men.
Funny story - a romanian soccer player is called Marica - last name, has no meaning in Romanian; he went to play soccer in Spain - totally different story. Poor guy, that must have been hard for him.
Thanks everyone for your kind comments.
