Por siempre mi amor #18 12/27/13: Farmer Sonia and Farmer Minerva Sow the Seeds of Distrust and Hate

Caigamos en oración count: 11 (Though not a one was uttered tonight.)
El Refrito
  • Tita ruminates in an empty closet.
  • Edgar and Mau accompany Andrea a la delegación to press charges agains Feo.
  • Tita notes a new gleam in Bruno's eyes. He confesses he's falling in love.
  • Arturo arrives at Aranza's school. He spends the rest of the episode ignoring the counselor's advice that he find professional help for his daughter.
Lo Nuevo
Some scenes are, as always, combined and condensed.
Sonia arrives at Gilberto's house. Surprisingly she does not ask for money (even Gilberto was shocked) and she forgets to ask about the lawyer for Feo. Gilberto totally has Sonia's number. He was glad that she was in the hospital for a virus and not some accident or because she had meterse en un lío (got herself in a spot of trouble.) Gilberto informs her (and Viewerville) that her brother is doing fine at boarding school (or are they step siblings? And he gets mentioned enough that I think we will eventually meet him.)

Arturo and Dafne's  mamá diabla (nombre de Belinda de Quintana) leave the school. I don't like the kind of starving hungry looks she's giving Arturo. When Arturo and Aranza arrive home he tries to talk to her and she gives him the silent treatment. He asks what's going on. He knows that it's hard since her mother died, but he wants to help and for her to go back to being the good girl she once was (*cough*therapyyoudunce*cough*.) Aranza tells him she doesn't trust him and that he and everyone in the house are lying liars who lie. He went on that trip because he doesn't love her and Tita and Lucha are telling lies about Tía Sonia. Arturo is all "whoa, chica!" Sonia is the lying liar who's lying and he's not going to let her talk to him like that. She is not to forget that he is her father...and she tells him that he's the one that needs to remember he's her father (*cough*therapyyoudunce*cough*.) She flounces into the house and treats Lucha like crap. Arturo informs Lucha that Aranza is grounded. He heads to his study.

Edgar has Andrea's petition for divorce ready and he explains that while it still needs to go before a judge, he really doesn't see how it can be denied considering what an abusive jerk the slimy Feo is. She will get full custody of the children. She signs quickly and with conviction. She is relieved to be rid of him. Mauricio thinks Feo is the real loser. She still feels stupid for having fallen into Feo's traps. It's because there stupid people like her that there are so many bad folks like Feo (that's just her opinion, I am merely the recapper.)

Gonzo lies his way into Isa's building. The "security guard" doesn't need him to leave his ID (I think my cats would be better security guards than this guy.) Gonzo and Dante clear Isa's apartment of some valuables and congratulate themselves on being scumbags. If I may quote Susanlynn "Bleecchh." Later Gonzo is still congratulating themselves on scamming the "guards" when Dante remembers that he left an I.D. with them. What a maroon.

In his study Arturo calls Isabel while Aranza eavesdrops. She tells him about Feo threatening call. Arturo goes into protection mode. Boy wouldn't he like to give that jerk a piece of his mind. Isa tell her "amor" not to worry about it. Arturo gets all googly. He sure likes it when she calls him her "amor" 'cause, shucks...she's his "amor" too! Screaming mimi fit in 3..2..1. You told me I wouldn't have a step-mother. I hate you! I hate you! Isa hears it all. Arturo cuts the call short to deal with Aranza (slowly I am losing my pity for her.) He tries to explain that Isa is just his girlfriend. Aranza asks how they can be novios if he just met her. She swears she's NEVER going to like Isa. She locks herself in the bathroom, again. (Considering her room looks an awful lot like Nikki's room in AV I kind of find that funny/ironic...meh. I've got a dark sense of humor.) Arturo goes out for a walk and doesn't take his cell phone.

Sonia shares coffee and cookies with her buddy. An aside: I notice a lot of cookie close ups and cookie consumption. If this is meant to be product placement it may be more effective to actually show the box or mention the brand name. She explains that she didn't dare talk to her step-dad about a lawyer. He would have asked questions, he would have found out about her association with Feo, he would kill her, we wouldn't have an antagonist, the show would suffer yada yada yada. Her buddy conveniently knows a lawyer and even has his card. Will we be seeing Lic. Huitrón in the near future?

Lucha goes upstairs to bring Aranza a nosh and discovers a note written by Aranza explaining that she has run away. Lucha flies into a panic. She and Gabino emote and wring their hands for a bit and finally call Tita. Tita gets in touch with Ozzie, who will use his connections in law enforcement to start the search for Aranza. Ozzie heads over to Arturo's house for more hand wringing. Where oh where is Arturo? And why oh why doesn't he have his phone?

Arturo is on a bridge talking to Eugenia again.

Meanwhile, Sonia is picking up Aranza. Excuse me while I wretch because Sonia tells Aranza she can depend on her. Aranza says Sonia is the only one who loves her and doesn't lie to her. Sonia completely agrees and thinks this little escapade will just teach Arturo a little lesson. Bleecchh. Oh and it gets bleecchier because Sonia really lays it on thick once she gets Aranza to her apartment.

But let's take a break from Sonia's bleecchh to Minerva's bleecchh, shall we? Andrea is explaining to Meanie that she has started divorce proceedings and she can't figure out how Mauricio found out about all the threats. Meanie confesses to telling him. Meanie says she had to do it since Andrea was kind of mousie and wimpy (loose translation) and that she'll never salir del perico perro (get ahead...here's a link.) Andrea wants to get ahead based on her work, not pity. Meanie tells Andrea that Mau is interested in her. Meanie talks up Mau and encourages Andrea to rebuild her life (selfish intentions, but the results are fine with me.) Pobre de Esteban has snuck out of bed and overheard his abuela ranting that good-for-nothing Feo deserves to spend the rest of his life in the cárcel. He runs into the kitchen and asks his mom if it's true. Meanie confirms it and tops it off with the information that papa robbed a nice lady. Andrea is dumbstruck, but Meanie figures Esteban needs to know about the porquería (trash) and ratero infeliz (vile thief) that is his dad. Andrea is left with the job of picking up the pieces of Esteban's little heart, but not before he calls her a lying liar on par with Aranza's dad. Andrea didn't want him to know that his dad was a bad guy. She just wanted him to have a happy childhood. Esteban confesses to having seen Feo abuse her (back during the sartenazo episode.) Andrea asks him to forgive her. They hug.

Tita thinks to call Bruno since surely he will know how to get in touch with Arturo, which of course he does. Arturo has called him and they meet at a restaurant where Arturo tells him that Aranza knows about Isa. Arturo can't put his life on hold, but he doesn't want to hurt Aranza, either. People have been filling her head with stupid ideas about step-mothers. Bruno tells him that Aranza is eventually understand what a great gal Isa is. Art can't let himself be blackmailed by Aranza. Their conversation is interrupted by Tita's call. Art rushes home where he's informed that Ozzie and Tita are already out looking. Art thinks where Arazna could be and remembers Bruno's advice "Think about who's behind all this.." Aha! Sonia!!

Sadly I must return to Sonia's bleecchh. Aranza is complaining to her aunt about how sick it made her to hear her dad saying "mi amor" to someone not her mom. Aranza apologizes for her earlier fits about Sonia being her stepmother. Sonia tells her that it looks like the only person who is going to be the stepmother is Isabel. Sonia figures she might as well warn Aranza about the mala mala Isa. Aranza asks if she knows Isa. Sonia evades and says Arturo is sure to arrive soon. Aranza doesn't want to go with him. She wants to stay with Sonia. Sonia figures Art will keep them from seeing each other and therefore they need to be united and prepare a plan. They need to be smarter than Isabel. Aranza need to do everything she tells her.

Arturo arrives at Sonia's apartment and she starts to spin her web. Aranza was inconsolable; she had to calm her down. Really he should be thanking her since he's being so careless with her (*cough*therapyyoudunce*cough*.) Arturo can't believe she's giving him parenting advice. The last thing he needs is Sonia filling her head with lies and chismes. They both know she was at Puerto Azul and she lied to Aranza about it. She's just trying to poison his daughter against him. He kind of grabs Sonia and she starts shrieking like a banshee about how he's going to hurt her and she was sick and ay me duele and  BLEECCCHHH!!! Of course Aranza sees this.

Little scenes that must be noted
  • Dafne's mother is angry, bitter and verbally abusive. When she gets home with the girl she berates her for causing so much trouble and tells her that she's going to pull her weight around the house: making beds, sweeping, dusting, laundry, sleeping next to the hearth.
  • Isa has developed a pathological fear of ringing hotel phones.
  • Isa takes a walk to the local cathedral. She prays to the Virgen of Guadalupe and thanks her for bringing Arturo into her life and hopes she can eventually help Aranza get over Eugenia's death.
  • Nicolas asks Gaby out for dinner and busts a move. Gaby makes it clear that between the two of them it's going to be nothing but business. Nicolas still tries a little hubba hubba and gets a champagne facial for his troubles. (It is my humble opinion that the writers are using as many words as they can with "C" and "Z" when writing Archy Lafranco's dialogue.) Gaby goes back to the room to kvetch to Isa who reminds Gaby what a gentleman Bruno is.
  • Bruno talks to Tita about Gaby. He's smitten, but Gaby made it clear she wants no pesky commitments. Tita plans a romantic dinner for the four of them to encourage Gaby to fall in love.
  • Andrea daydreams a little about Mau. Mau daydreams a little about Andrea. *giggle*
Avances
  • Sonia tells Feo has already begun her venganza
  • Sonia tells a whopper about Isa and Art. I really hate this woman.
  • Arazna wants to meet Isa. Watch out, Isa!

Sara- Love the title and loved the recap. I'll comment more tomorrow after some sleep, but I have to say that I got a giggle out of Mau's daydream of Andrea being when she did that complex math/accounting in her head. LOL! The man truly has the heart of an accountant, but a sweet one. :)

Thanks Vivi! I really liked that scene, too. And it's awesome that his interest started there and not just as a protective thing.

Great work, Sara.

Sonia makes me sick and we know what her dirty work will result in. I wonder how many men watch these things and end up thinking that Sonia is a valid example of womanhood.

As for Archie LaFranco's dialogue, I'm wondering that, too.

Sara:

Marvelous recap. I loved your little aside of (*cough*therapyyoudunce*cough*) so very good, lol. Also liked your farming title.

I did chuckle a couple of times during this episode, I really loved the Andy and Mau thinking of each other, Gaby when she gave Nicholas that champagne facial and Tita and Ozzie running off hand in hand, too cute ; )

So-not continues her wallowing in drek and I love that phrase a lying liar that lies. I have used it, but who said it first? I would so like to thank them. It so fits So-not. Ara seems to have forgotten that her Papa has always loved her. What is up with that? I don't want her illusions to stop Art from seeing Isa. Ara needs that therapy. Art knows that Daphne and So-not are filling Ara's head with all kinds of drek. If he doesn't do anything, then that will be on him.

I do like that phrase that Tita uses all the time. And how cute are she and Ozzie? I like these actors in these roles, how perfect!

Gonzo and Dante are just plain idiotas! Leave the I.D. yeah that's the ticket! I hope they both go to la carcel for a long time. Poor Isa needs a new maid and a new lock, hell she needs a new place period! One where Feo hasn't a clue where she is. I'm with you Sara, my little lap dogs would be better security guards than those guys at the door of Isa's place.

Minerva continues with her ways. I too would love the results of her machinations, don't like the way she is dishing things out to Andy though. Poor Esteban.

Can't wait for Monday to see what happens.

Thanks, Mads and UA!

I have no ides who started lying liar who lies, but they were brilliant. It's interesting that Aranza is indeed being lied to, but she accuses the wrong people of lying and then falls for Sonia's lies hook, line and sinker! Esteban accuses his mom of lying and she is, but I can forgive her. Meanie is honest and tells the truth, but I can't forgive her.

And let me ramble a bit about Aranza and Dafne. I actually felt more pity for Dafne. She knows her father willingly abandoned her and probably assumes her mother hates her (I don't blame her.) She lashes out against her friend Aranza who's mother died (not willful abandonment) and she is surrounded by people who love her. Now as I said Aranza has a much better support system than Dafne and she's starting to be a brat to all of them (under Sonia's tutelage.)

Sara, simply sensational. Loved the title and the embedded vocabular. You are a very gifted writer. I had to pare down my list but "Tita ruminates in an emptycloset", "(*cough*therapyyoudunce*cough*.)", "She flounces into the house and treats Lucha like crap", "Screaming mimi fit in 3..2..1", "Andrea is left with the job of picking up the pieces of Esteban's little heart" (sniffle) and "...sleeping next to the hearth" were a few of my favorites.

It's frustrating that Arturo does not realize how much pain Aranza is and that, as you noted so well, needs help. But, my heart really went out to Dafne who has a terrible, vicious mother and appears to have no one to comfort or to love her. And you are right Madeline, Art needs therapy too. A discount family rate would be helpful here.

There has been no real spark between Bruno and Gaby. He needs to bring passion and romance if he wants to move beyond the friendship stage.

Vivi, I loved "the heart of an accountant, but a sweet one". Yes, they are a cute couple and at least Grandma is behind them (although for purely selfish reasons).

Thanks again Sara. This was great.

Diana

Thanks Diana! I like the Bruno/Gaby pairing, but you are right. He needs to ditch the mamby pamby courtship and really knock her socks off. But I bet she'll be a tough nut to crack.

I too felt pity for Dafne, has anyone seen her father? She is acting out and recounting life as she has experienced it. Aranza on the other hand has a bevy of doting adults and that inner devil is coming out, (she really is her aunts niece). I would say it was all Sonia's doing but Aranza even shouts at her little dog. It is just stupid Art doesn't start family therapy and all her behavior is text book but then we wouldn't have anything much to look forward to.

Esteban what a wise little boy beyond his years.

Oh, Gaby, Gaby, Gaby you so not rock a one piece or maybe I am just enamored by Isa. (If SG had shown up in the cast of CI I would never have looked at AB again either) Gaby why so mad when Nicholas made a play and sure you have shot down better with more finesse. Poor Bruno is in the friendzone and painful to watch. (I really like him though and just what Gaby needs to soften her up a little)

Ozzie and Tita seem like an old married couple already. Me like

Gave me goose bumps when Isabel prayed to the Virgen of Guadalupe. Good heart that girl

What an odd placement of a pay phone

tofie said: " I would say it was all Sonia's doing but Aranza even shouts at her little dog."

OOOOO! That scene pithed me off!! Take it out on who ever but NOT THE DOG!

The little boy playing Esteban is wonderful. I'm sure someone has already mentioned how great the young cast is. I hope they all have a bright future.

The little actress who plays Dafne did a great job in her scenes with her mom. The little beyotch we have come to know and hate disappeared, and we saw the scared and lonely little girl desperately in need of someone to love her. She is certainly not getting that from her bitch mom, or from her absentee father who's off enjoying his new life with his new wife. Contrast that to the MANY people in Ara's life who love her and show it openly and constantly, and Dafne becomes a more sympathetic character.

After the time jump I wonder who we will have the most pity for. Is it possible Dafne is being set up as a redeemable villain?

Gaby says she doesn't want someone who will try to control her, who isn't intimidated/doesn't feel less macho because of a strong woman, who is good, intelligent, successful, and is a gentleman. Hello! That's Bruno! She doesn't know what she wants.

Gaby has a point, though. Novelas are full of men who want to control their women. Who really wants that?

Better alone than with the wrong partner.

I agree with her. But she's making assumptions without even giving the man a chance. Nothing that she has seen about Bruno has shown him to be that kind of man. She's shutting the door before even letting him cross the threshold.

I think Gaby has been shutting a lot of doors. In general I think she is very distrustful. Not in a bitter or ugly way...she just doesn't open up very easily.

And after thinking about it a bit it seems to me that Dafne will have to be redeemable. What's the norm for young adult villains? Do they have lighter karmegeddons followed by redemption 100% of the time or do TNs allow for true under 21 evil? (I think the only other youthful offender I can think of is Barbara from Amorcito Corazon.)

Sara C---A really nice recap. I loved it from beginning to end. Very nicely written.

Tofie---If SG had shown up in CI, I would never have looked at AB again. BITE YOUR TONGUE!!! They're
both goddesses. So SG rocks a bikini that's for sure. I asked this question last Thursday and didn't get one comment so I will try again. I'm wondering how many times Ms. Gonzales has to say no to something that tastes sooooo good? How many lunches of a cup of yogurt with celery and carrot sticks does she have to eat and how many hours a week are spent sweating over a hard workout at
the local gym to be able to rock her bikini? Bodies like that don't come naturally.

Dafne---I know it just a story, just a movie but I really felt sorry for little Dafne last night.
It does seem like there isn't much
love thrown in her direction. The poor little girl looked really hurt, unloved and rejected. She must be suffering/hurting tremendously on the inside. It's no wonder that she has a chip on her shoulder that is weighing her down and causing her to lash out at others.

Aranza is in training to be a real problem both now and in the future. How could she not be when she is being pulled in the wrong direction by the terrible So-Not?

I can't wait to see Isa when she comes back to a cleaned out apartment. Security? What Security? Those guys need to go to a security training class. It's obvious that they have never been to one.

Does anyone remember how Gonzo and Dante got all the stuff out of the apartment? I remember black plastic trash bags. Did they walk right past the guards with the bags full of the loot?
The gringo

I suspect that they left through whatever area the trash is placed, which would not be the front of the building.

Isabel needs to move.

I think that nasty child villains (as in menor de edad) are usually redeemed, but Aranza will be 19 after the time jump, so no automatic exemption from a potentially nasty Karmageddon. We have to hope that the writers of this series don't drop the ball like the writers of QBA did with Vainessa. She never got what was coming to her.

Thanks UA! I'm looking forward to Dafne's story even if she is a meanie. Sadly I am feeling less and less pity for Aranza and Arturo is partly to blame. It bothers me that the writers have taken the time to say "she needs help" (something rarely mentioned) and they are letting it go by the wayside. I hope there is a reason for it or that at some point Art acknowledges he made a mistake.

Gringo- I'm sure Ms G works hard for that bod. If she's been dancing since her youth she probably had a head start on working her core and glutes. She has young children too so I admire her even more!

I was just reading an article here about last year's shows:

http://novelalounge.com/nn/2013/12/22/telenovelas-2013-el-ano-en-que-la-telenovela-murio/

Why some of these are listed as Lo Mejor is another topic but about PSMA it says that SG does better as villain and then they complain they spent too much time on this part of the story (with the young actors/set up.)

Since I would love to hear others' thoughts I'll share mine.

Yes- SG is a great bad girl but I prefer her role in PVAA over the crazy insane beyotch of LQNPA. Personally I much prefer her as good girl.

I'm glad we are getting so much back story. I like knowing as much as I can about a character.

gringo, don't get me wrong it was because of AB I started watching CI and continued to do so (though I was very disappointed with the character at the end) and she is hot (especially with her hair down). However, it is partly because SG has to do so much work and at 40 with children (she is beautiful to boot) for me she trumps AB. AB is in her what, mid 20's? To me SG is a woman and AB someone I could see on a college campus. Having said that I am surprised Hollywood has not come calling on AB.

Hear hear!! Tofie! I very much admire SG. I do love AB as well and as far as the younger stars go I like her the most. It's just nice to see the mature ladies getting age appropriate roles AND rockin' bikinis while they do it :)

I suspect most of our tn stars, both male and female, have to work out a lot and pass up some delicious food in order to maintain their amazing bodies. Especially ones like SG who have rock hard abs. But I still think Latin tns allow their female actresses to have more meat on their bones, and curves than most US shows. SG is considered skinny for a tn actress, but if you compared her to most US stars, she'd fit right in and probably would be bigger than most.

I have no problem with the time spent setting up the time jump so we are privy to the interpersonal histories. I like Art and Isabel and hope they remain googlie eyed over each other. I hope for a pairing of Esteban & Dafne and expect a carbon Sonia copy of Aranza. However this is doubtful since Esteban was pulling Dafne off of Aranza during the school yard smack down. Has the relationship between So-not & F-no been disclosed?

At this point all we know is that Sonia, Feo and Gonzo were part of the check forging scam.

We assume that Gonzo is Lucha and Gabino's son who started hanging out with a "Dante". We assume that Gema's Dante is the same one Lucha and Gabino mentioned. Personally I expected a brighter, master-mind type like Feo. Lucha and Gabino made it sound like Gonzo was a nice guy until he met Dante, but I know parents can sometimes be a little deluded.

I think Esteban is destined to be with Aranza, but Dafne will want him. Right now I am feeling more pity toward Dafne and not Aranza. I hope that changes, though.

I also appreciate/enjoy the time spent with the kids and the backstory. But I can totally see how much of the audience would get bored with it. I like backstory and character development, so I don't get bored with this stuff, but it might now have been a wise decision considering the attention span of the viewing audience these days.

Sara- It's the other way around. Dante is Gabino and Lucha's son who started hanging out with Gonzalo. In either case, they have a criminal for a son. Poor, sweet couple.

Doh!! That's right. Thanks! It's been a while since that conversation.

I should have realized it earlier, but that makes the Isa/Art/Lucha/Gab/Dante/Gema connection even more interesting. Will it explode soon or near the end.

I wonder if there are security cameras outside Isa's building. Dante was wearing a hat/shades...but Gonzo wasn't.

Isa's attorney saw Gema and Dante in the restaurant and Dante left his ID too. Oooh goodie hope somebody gets busted soon

Susana Gonzalez---good girl/bad girl? For me it doesn't matter. I'm a SG fan all the way. Susana is beautiful and a great actress to boot, what more could you ask for? I know that she's not the only one that's beautiful and talented however she goes way beyond the norm. When I found out that Susana was going to be in PSMA, I put it on my must see list and I haven't been disappointed.

Hollywood calling? I'm surprised that there are not a lot more Latino's in Hollywood, both male and female. The super acting in many novelas prove to me that the gates of Hollywood should be swinging wide open. Language problem??

Vivi---I'm not bored with the children, I love them and I suspect that this focus on their young lives will have meaning as the story progresses. The young actress that is playing Dafne did an excellent job Friday night. You could feel her pain and loneliness being transferred right through the TV screen. I marvel at these young child actors

Poor Lucha and Gabino both making an honest living while their son Dante has chosen the opposite. Stealing and robbing, what a shame
When Dante is found out, momma and
poppa will be devastated.
the gringo

Gringo- I don't think you, I, or Sara would be considered avarage tv/tn viewers, who would get bored with all this backstory and character building before the time jump and the meat of the story begins. Great for us. Horrible for ratings, and I'm guessing that's why this tn didn't get super high ratings.

"I don't think you, I, or Sara would be considered avarage tv/tn viewers, who would get bored with all this backstory and character building before the time jump and the meat of the story begins."

I think there are plenty of the "typical" TN antics that I'm a sucker for (CI at the beginning is one example.) I like the fairy tale elements of many of them. However, PVAA is probably my all time fave (and I only watched the chopped up version on DVD!) This and MPV are making it to that list as well. What do they have in common? Taking the time to tell a story.

This is where I can understand gringo's rabid defense of CI. I like all the characters on this show (and MPV) and I am already attached to them. I don't want them to end either. BUT if either show started getting like CI I would not feel the same. In that case I would feel a sense of loss. Which is exactly how I felt about CI. I was harsh about it, I admit...but I really felt angry that they did what they did to that show. (Is there a TN Anonymous? I may need help.)

While I will enjoy almost any TN because it is a way for me to practice my Spanish listening comprehension, there are some that I also enjoy for the storytelling. So many TNs just plop a pairing or villain in front of us with no real development. I like watching the wooing. I like knowing a little more about the villains.

When I think about LQNPA I really wish that they could have made Sinthia a more redeemable villain. We got so much of her back story way too late in the game. (And over time I think I've become more forgiving of her character because it was played SG.)

Sara C---TN Anonymous? LOL Many of
us might need to attend eventually
We get caught up in the TN's and when they, or after they got us, we can't get out or let go. Yes CI got me and even after the characters personalities changed, I was so into them by that time that I couldn't for the life of me let go---I loved them even with their faults and wanted the ending to bring the best for them. I will always wonder why Mari chose to stay in jail even after she was found to be innocent and there were other loose ends that never got tied but it ended well and for me that's what really mattered. TN Anonymous? Yes I might have to go one day but I hope that's it not for a long, long while.
the gringo

I don't mind back story-I love the kid actors im this-but I'm a bit annoyed by Sonia because nothing about her is charming or nice. There's nothing about her that convinces me that she couldn't be easily exposed-that is, if the people around her would just callk her on her crap, she's be exposed immediately. And I dislike the fact she's winning aranza because of Art's stupidity. I could stand Antonia Guerra in La Patrona winning all the battles in the first part of the TN because Christian Bach made her compelling and hid her secrets well. She was also a charming psychopath and you understood why people fell for her charms.

Sucia is winning even though art knows she's trifling and after him, but because he refuses to acknowledge how Ara feels and take Dr's advice, sucia wins. I also think it is too soon for him to move on from Eugenia given the family life he had. He, Eugenia and Ara did everything together, were their only family since Art was disowned, eugenia's family had died. Their family was very closed and self-contained and the fact that he's allowing sucia to manipulate the situation because he refuses to acknowledge the depth and breadth of Ara's mourning bothers me.

As a result, right now I care more about Tita/Ozie, Bruno/Gaby, Andrea/Mau and the youth cast than the protas.

thanks, Sara. I am enjoying this novela. Instead of cheering on just one couple, we have three pairs of potential lovers.

The actress playing So-no is good at playing both villains and good girls. She can really bring the nasty,

Isa needs a new place with good security and a new maid who is loyal....and not an idiot like Gema. Art needs...a new hairstyle. Sorry..that center part just bothers me. Guy seems sweet, but the hairdo should change.

Sara- thank you for an excellent recap. I loved the *cough*therapyyoudunce*cough* - it is so needed.
It was good to know Daphne's story but I am still not a fan. True, the child actress did a splendid job, she makes her role very believable bad behavior and all.

Gringo- I definitely think I need TN intervention stat. I actually miss them on the weekends and I'm already thinking of stockpiling QPTR or La Impostora episodes for the weekends.

Susanlynn- I have only seen Dominika in villana roles and honestly can't see her as a nice, good girl....

J- ...and since Dominika seems do insincere to me even when she's being nice it's hard for me to watch her coming out on top every single time. And Art is being incredibly DENSE!! I think the beanies will get a workout. I still care about Isa, but Art is pushing it...which is sad because he's so sweet. And a little naive. Lol. He's the one acting like the female ingenue.

The Part (Guy)- I think he should at least start with a haircut. It's a little long for me.

The Part (Bruno)- there is something incredibly weird about his hair. I hope he gets a time jump makeover.

PS- and many thanks to you all.

TJ- our comments crossed. I felt bad for Dafne, but I suspect she will be back on my nerves in the coming weeks.

yeah, Brunos hair is weirder than Arts and I know the dye job is to make him seem younger prior to the time jump. Dye jobs on older men just look like, older men with dye jobs not younger men.

gringo says "I will always wonder why Mari chose to stay in jail even after she was found to be innocent"

Topic for a PhD dissertation

As I detox from CI and attempt to move on with a new TN this continues to pull be back in. I know, I know I need to just let it go.

Sara C---TN Anonymous where can I find a meeting?

Tofie, my friend (if I may be so familiar), I don't know that anyone ever really is able to let go completely. I am still angry that Osvaldo wasn't even at his son's wedding (TdA.)

Dark dye jobs look like dye jobs no matter the age. Lol.

Sara, YES! Sucia is so insincere in everything, it's hard to see how she gets away with anything. Neither Tita, Lucha and Gabino like her, so I don't get Art falling for her manipulation.

As further proof of my TN addiction I have been obsessively thinking about Sucia and the gullibility of those around her.

Up until now she has sort of been called out on her lies- the main one being the trip to Puerto Azul and her reason for going. In that case she managed to get to Aranza first and then Tita chose to take the high road and not argue with a 9 year old who called her a liar.

On the boat Sucia told that whopper about Art being a womanizer which Art cleared up. Unfortunately when she tells Aranza that Art and Isa were lovers before her mom died I think it will be difficult to convince the child otherwise because her head has been filled with lies (Dafne's lies too) and Art NEVER GOT HER ANY HELP.

What remains to be seen is how Sucia will maintain this hold on Ara. I suspect Art will be just as complacent about keeping Sucia away from his daughter as he has been about therapy. Then again, maybe Sucia will be banned from the house and her entire relationship with Aranza will be "their little secret." Bleecchhh.

And ultimately I don't think anyone feels they have the right to interfere as they are really only family friends. Even Art's father has been until recently estranged from him.

Sonia makes a compelling argument for Ara to lap up. She and Ara are family and Isa an outsider and a she devil step mother to be. When Ara sees the ostensible rough up of Sonia the deal is sealed and Art has lost his daughter. What I am looking forward to is knowing the end game for Sonia. If it was Art she lost, becoming a wedge between Art and his daughter she won. Doing Isa dirty to spring F-no, the stage set, but what is her long game?

Yes, what is So-not's long term goal? It looks like she will win Aranza's loyalty and will manage to give Isa fits but what is her goal? This is getting interesting.

Bruno's crazy hair? I agree. Those two front curls make me crazy. Every time I see them, I want to grab a pair of scissors and cut them off.

I think Sonia's long-term goal is to get a boatload of money and it doesn't matter to her how that happens. She is obsessed with Arturo and probably wanted to steal him from her cousin for some time. Making Eugenia suffer wasn't the end-game for her as Eugenia is dead.

I think she's like Tamara in EPDA and Ximena in TdA: Obsessive, insane, and sadistic. She doesn't care whom she hurts.

Sadistic is probably it. At this point she knows she's lost the battle for Arturo and she's just pitched and wants to make Isa and Art suffer. She gets of on the pain of others. I don't even know if money is her ultimate goal.

Now--will Art let her stay in the picture?

My DVR says no show Tuesday and I think we are getting close to the time jump. Next week maybe?

I think so. There are no evening novelas tomorrow on Univision; it's Premios Juventud in prime and the New Year's Eve show at 10. Do they stream that one online?

Thanks UA. I'm afraid to search out the answer to the "when do we jump?" question for fear of encountering spoilers.

I tried IMDB and I think it's episode 26.

If you want to look for time jumps, check the IMDB page of a child actor playing someone who has to grow up for the rest of the series.
