Ara's hair twirling glare was most scary, a mini Sonia.
I love that Liliana stands up to Daphne who is a miserable, little wench.
MeanMin is showing her true colors, a real gold digger. She is never satisfied.
Balthazar has OsoBaldo's number. I enjoy their dry interactions.
Isaias Huertas is a force not to reckon with and Sonia and the con man are going to learn that very soon.
 

Thank you for the recap Corazon! I couldn't help but notice that during the engagement party Aranza was left out of the toasts. I remember from the first episode that Eugenia made sure Aranza had a glass of milk so she could join in the Anniversary toasts. This time she was just left standing there as all the adults toasted, congratulated and hugged. Small detail, but it could play in to her "nobody loves me" mindset.

This episode really pointed out the commonality between Bruno and Osvaldo. Neither one of them has a clue about women.

Meanie doesn't realize that Andrea knows all about Gema's role in the robbery of Isabel's apartment. I'd like to think Gema won't make it in the door, but I fear Andrea will be compassionate and give her a chance. I see trouble ahead. Especially if Meanie intends for Mauricio to pay Gema's salary.
 

Xintperuvian- That's a good point about Ara not participating in the toast. It makes sense but I still find her to be a little brat.

TJ excellent observation about the hair twirling. Ara really is more and more like Sonia every day!

And why they are alone. I actually have more confidence in Osvaldo than Bruno and stand by my initial reaction to him as being a little dog humping Gaby's leg. What a yucky manboy.

Hummm. Gema working for Andrea, how much more incestuous can this TN get. Would love to be invited to a family reunion should Estaban and Aranza marry.

I feel really sorry for Aranza and understand why she feels isolated. Art (won't listen, selfish, impatient, insensitive)gets what he deserves as she grows up to be hell on wheels. In fact I laughed when the dress was embellished and am rooting for her.

Sonia should check herself into a substance abuse treatment center in the States so she can hide from the crap storm headed her way after cheating the wrong guy.

If someone did that to my wedding dress, even if it were a 10 year old child, they would be seeing the back of my hand. Sorry. This goes from crying for attention (running away), to malice.

They should have given Ara a beverage to make her feel more a part of the group, but everyone did speak about her in their toasts and acknowledged that she is a part of this joining of family and friends. She kept pulling away physically and emotionally. The evil hair twirling is funny. I like how the director added that bit.

Esteban was so cute in his declaration to Ara. Although Dafne made a big fuss about him being low class, I think she's just jealous and wishes he liked her.
 

Thanks Corazon !!!! I missed some, but you caught me up; I didn't miss a beat !! Although all the child actors are good)except Andrea's youngest - get that kid off the stage, please!), I think Daphne is the best. She is one convincing little actress, very expressive.
 

Corazon, thank you for the incredible recap. You fleshed out all the details (mostly unhappy ones unfortunately) with vivid descriptions of the pivotal events that transpired.

"curses and snarls", "(Tiffany's anyone?)" and "space bubble of solitude" were among my favorites.

xint, you made an excellent point about Aranza being left out of the toast (and I commend you for you remembering that Eugenia included her in the first episode). Still, dismayed that she actually chose to desecrete Isa's wedding dress. Beyond disappointed that she could be so cruel. Yes, Sonia has goaded and manipulated her but for her to actually ruin it does not bode well.

Some clarity and good advice from Art to Bruno “Back up a little so she isn't creeped out”. Exactly! Slow and steady – sometimes less yields more. I sense Gaby's pace may be too slow for Bruno in the end but we will have to wait and see.

Vivi, totally agree Dafne secretly wishes Esteban fancied her (am I dating myself by using that term?) :) The actor is adorable.

Sara, I wouldn't mind seeing more of Gema. A basically good person who made some regrettable mistakes. Would like to see her redeem herself.

Corazon, thanks. I hope you have enough in you to do tonight's since I have bronchitis. Vivi, Ara wouldn't feel my hand. I would break up with Art and tell him no way is his daughter ready for a new person in her life. When a kid's a brat that young, you blame the parents, not the child. But I do understand the sentiment to slap Ara.
 

J- I likely wouldn't do it. I've never struck a child, except when I was a child myself :). But, I would NOT let the kid off the hook and only blame Art. Ara's not a 4 year old. She's now 10. Quite old enough to understand how malicious that act was. And given how expensive wedding dresses are, it's actually destruction of pretty expensive property.
 

Art has now reached the top of the heap for idiots. He knows Ara has problems with Isa and he thinks a couple of little chats fix the problem and he goes on like a clod. Telling Isa he would replace the portrait of Eugenia and Ara since she was now going to be the lady of the house was the dumbest thing ever. Why not just tell Ara sorry honey I've got to please the new wife and I'll just remove any evidence of your mother so she doesn't get hurt. Never mind that the action would be like a knife in the heart of the little girl.

Ara has turned into a brat guided by So-not. The hair twirling thing I think is a So not tell as I don't remember Ara ever doing it before. The dress destruction I'm pretty sure was So-not's idea and I'll bet she supplied the paint.

As for Isa I too would break the engagement and tell Art his daughter needs help and is not going to come around and make them one happy little family any time soon.

So wise Art tells Bruno to go slow and then says his situation with Isa was different. Yeah you idiot is was and is and you should have taken your own advice and gone at a snails pace not rushing as though she was the last woman on earth. The anvil of a brat child becoming a brat adult is coming your way and you earned it.
 

While not condoning destruction of property I take into account Aranza is 10. If it were a traumatized boy he would be starting a fire in a closet. This is all on Art. He lied to Aranza and is replacing her mother that is barely cold with a woman whose ink is barely dry on her divorce papers. Art sporadically paying attention to her only after she acts out is not enough. He talks sweet to her makes a few promises and then within minutes shoves Isabel back at her and reasons like an adult. You can see the confusion on the kids face.

The way Isabel was screeching and crying I expected she witnessed some horrible accident (or smeared her freshly painted pink nails) instead of just adding a little color to a white dress.

Agree totally and as I watched last night see Art now as an antagonist and outside of Sonia (she killed someone) done more lasting damage. The sweet little girl is gone. Fernando with his menacing eyes did no more than marry two women (who wanted to get married) be a dead beat dad and forge checks to get money to buy his wife happiness. Didn't really affect Isabel much looks like she just traded up.
 

Honestly, I can see now why this TN is not doing so well I Mexico. Art as a protag is unlikeable. He wisely told Bruno every relationship is different, but has refused to see the numerous red flags Ara put up to tell him the new boda is too soon. It's not romantic and I'm not rooting for he and Isa. I don't think the situation in fair to Isa to have a hijastra who so visibly hates her. And the galan looks like a clueless, insensitive jerk, too. They really should've shown Art as more doubtful about marriage-fingling with the rings, going over in his head how Ara has changed -something!-because his going headlong is so insensitive.
 

J desde NYC could not have said it better myself. I went from so to no pretty quickly and only hope this is only a prologue to good stuff after the time leap so we can understand the relationship dynamics. I'm done with Art and Isa and cringe when I see Bruno constantly trying to jump in Gaby's lap. They could have cut all this out and just say the adult Aranza had issues with her father and her stepmother.

Wow! It's getting better each night. So now the wedding is postponed/cancelled? Aranza wins this round. My immediate reaction is to slap Aranza into the next episode but that wouldn't solve the problem. Aranza's hatred or dislike is already deep seated. Good going Art Dad. That deep seated hatred of Isa isn't going away any time soon as we see every night in the opening. Aranza
is becoming what we Americans call
Hell On Wheels and it looks like she will stay that way for some time to come.

Aranza does seem to have a sweet side to her though. Her scene with Esteban was so adorable last night. Llieana is a true friend.

It's a good move but it isn't going to be enough. Aranza has deep seated problems that are going to take more than keeping a picture is going to solve.

Good point about Aranza and the toast but---I don't think that Aranza would even want to go along with that.

Methselah got a couple of good blows last night. Sorry? No, not a bit. Educated people choose to cheat people rather than make an honest living. Why are people like that? A thought like that would never cross my mind. Sonia is right in there with him. She's well educated and could get a job and show her talents anywhere, instead she chooses the dark side,
a life of crime. I am already thinking about what kind of anvil will be waiting for her?

It's so odd that they are spending so much time on this part of the story, but they didn't really take the time to do any sort of montage scenes to indicate the passage of time. You know, maybe some scenes with Art, Isa and Ara interacting. Does that make sense?

I can't really "root" for Art and Isa as a couple, either. (I have the same problem with MPV. I'm completely ambivalent about the main couple there, too.) I mainly want some happiness for Isa. There are lots of side plots and possible side plots that interest me.
 

Agree with you Sara. The issue is that I completely understand why Ara ia acting out. Yes she's ten and should know destroying the dress is wrong but she's been showing red flags for a year that she needs her dad and he has ignored her. I love Mau and Andy b/c they had a natural fit. I like Bruno and Gaby and think Gaby should now what she wants in a guy by now to shut down Art and stop stringing him along ESP since she was so pro Isa/Art. Isa/Art always made me uncomfortable mostly b/c Art acted as if Ara's feelings shouldn't matter.
 

They have spent a lot of time on this back story but obviously going forward we would have been at a loss to understand some of the dynamics. I'm ready to move forward but will miss the child actors who are uniformly adorable and talented.

Considering how clueless Art is I wouldn't be surprised if he shipped Ara off to a Swiss boarding school like the mother in Pobres threatened to do last night with her more grown up brat.
 

Hmmm. I see that as a possibility. I can't imagine how else the three of them can go in like this for 10 years.

Tofie, you are mistaken. Fernando stole money from Isabel and her company and has been terrorizing both her and Andrea from behind bars. He is Evil Incarnate and he will be out of the slammer ten years early for the Ten Years Later. You can bet on that.

I also think that Aranza will end up in boarding school and I would also apply the flat hand to her arse over the dress. That is far less damaging to what Sonia is doing to her.

As soon as Art caught them on the phone he should have blocked Sonia's phone numbers in both directions and directed anyone in the house with cell phones to do the same. He should also have gotten a restraining order against her. Could he have charged her with kidnapping before?
 

It would indeed be in character for Art to ship Aranza off to boarding school. Get her out of the house so he can go on with his life without any encumbrances. Art is a punk ass

The sad thing is, *IF* Aranza gets shipped off (which is exactly what Sonia wanted to do), then she will blame Isa...who am sure will try to talk Art out of it.

Arturo's biggest mistake is not getting the child to a kiddie shrink right away. No way should she ever have been allowed to think that she had the right to demand that her father never look at another woman.

As for his getting involved with Isabel, he should have done that under the radar rather than introducing her to Aranza right away.

Of course, had he not made these errors, we wouldn't have a story.
