Por siempre mi amor #31 1/16/14: Hell's Angels Has a New Member and Her Name is Tita and Face Off al la Novela Style
El pasado
Ara asks Art why was the prison calling Isa and Art explains that Isa's first husband died in jail. He knew all about it because they do not have any secrets from each other.
We begin with Feo and Sucia at Methulusah's office. Feo gives Methulusah his "cut" for helping with the jailbreak. He gives Feo the info on a man who can help him. In another month they will be back in business. With modern technology and cameras everywhere, why is Methulusah still able to do business?
Tita is trying to be nice to Ally and tells her there is no need for formalities when addressing each other. Tita gets a phone call from Oso aka Precioso. Oso wants to take Tita to the opera, the opera season starts tonight and he can get tickets and he will pick her up around 7. Baby Boy Bruno is jealous.
MeanMinnie is at Las Vegas oops, at a gambling spot and she is gambling, hmm, that leg must feel A-okay! MeanMinnie is not on a winning streak tonight she has lost a lot of money. She meets a "friend" who tells that you win some you lose some, tomorrow will be a lucky day for her and she will be there.
Danny is going to go out and reacquaint himself with the city. Gil wants to tag along but Danny would rather go at it alone. Gil lends him the car and Cuca, who notices that Gil's face has lit up, shares that with Danny home he feels alive again.
An angry Esteban asks Mau and Andrea why did they keep his sperm donor's death from him. He was hurt by their silence, he had a right to know. They didn't want to hurt him and they were waiting for the right time which was never. Esteban has no real feelings about his sperm donor's and his death. He doesn't feel connected to him. He remembers when he hit his mother in the courtyard. Not a good memory. Andrea asks Esteban to forgive him. They agree, that they are not going to break the news to little Angel. He doesn't need to be confused. Andrea is worried about hiding the sperm donor's death from Angel. Mau convinces her that it will be okay.
Ara is waiting for Esteban at an outdoor cafe and find it strange that he is not there, he is usually first nor is he answering his cell. Her friends tease her that maybe he has found some new, little cutie. Ara is worried and hopes that nothing has happened to him she continues to try to call him. The girls (Ara and Daphne) decide to go shopping , Ileana passes and now that Ara has her car back. Equis. Ileana puts negative Daphne in her place as usual. Esteban calls Ara. He is on his way to school, he sounds sad but he will discuss what's bothering him when he sees her.
Marianela is selling her wares and meets Danny. He is lovestruck. Danny buys the whole box of goods, so that she doesn't have to be in the street selling anything anymore. He wants to give her one of the toys as a momento but she doesn't accept it. She is lovestruck too.
Feo wants Sucia to tell him everything about her "Ole Sugar Daddy". He owns a computer security company. Feo is salivating, that's right up his alley. Technology! He is married with 3 kids, he has 2 luxury cars and a black book that he guards with his life. (I don't see longevity in the cards for "Ole Sugar Daddy") Feo wants to find out what is in that black book, (the camera focuses on a black book that has fallen by the chair). Feo and Sucia are at a plastic surgery consultation. He is going to have his nose altered and within a month no one will recognize him. (I would recognize those beady eyes anywhere). Feo aka Javier Castillo de la Fuente. It's a fast operation that can take place today. Discretion is the word. Feo has had the pre-surgery blood testing, they are awaiting the results and the operation will take place tonight. The doctor assures them that he is the best (that money can buy). Sucia will see Feo later, she is going to see her dad. Make her Feo guapo. Impossible! A pig dressed in silk is still a pig. It sounds better in Spanish.
Art and Isa have a GYN appointment to find out the baby's sex. Isa is 5 months and two weeks pregnant. It's a boy! Art starts talking to baby and telling him how much they love him and can't wait to meet him. Isa thinks that Ara will think bad of her knowing that she was married to a bum like Feo. (Little do, you know Isa, Ara thinks bad of you just because)
A motorcycle with the name "Angeles en la Tierra" is revving up.Vrrroooom!! We find out that the Angel en la Tierra is Tita., no surpirse to Viewerville. Marianela tells the kids tnot to eat the food because it may be poisonous. Tita gets off of her bike( I love her biker outfit!!!- 70 is the new 40 according to that outfit) and has a face to face with Marianela. Marianela is shocked that the motorcycle rider was a woman and didn't know what her intentions were. Tita introduces herself. Marianela learned early that you get nothing for free, but Tita reassures her that everything is,fresh and she prepares the food herself. So that you know that I'm on the up and up, Tita tells Marianela to ask her whatever she wants. Mari wants to know why does she give out the food. Tita tells her that with a bunch of friends they that help people who need it. Tita and Marianela bond. Tita wants to help Marianlea to get an honest job, she will help the kids too. Tita will figure something out. Okay, Dona Tita, uh no my name is a Tita. High five!!!!
Ally hears a motorcycle at Tita's (no, it can't be) , while Tita tries to slip into the house. Zenaida is relieved that Tita returned because she didn't know what to tell Ally as to Tita's whereabouts. While Tita was cruisng on her bike, Ally stayed home and was reading, so Tita invites Ally to go out and see the city but a carpenter arrives to see Tita. She wants a room built in her closet.
Angel is playing a video game that is too loud for MeanMinnie. It took him three weeks to get past that world and who is "abue" to tell him anything. It's his house. She is going to give him a licking with her cane. Well, he goes back to his game.
Daniel meets Ileana and shares with her the news about his sperm donor's death. She has always been a good friend to him. Ara returns and Ileana leaves. Esteban and Ara go someplace alone to talk. He shares that his sperm donor died in jail. He was burned to death. Ara remembers that Isa 's husband died in prison too. What a coincidence. My sperm donor was in jail for scamming a woman, is Isa that woman. We need to find out my abuela can help us, she told me something about that when I was little. Angel tells Mau and Andrea about his words with MeanMinnie. He should have completed his homework first but Mau will chat with MeanMinnie. They let him know that he was wrong and the house is for everyone. Angel has to apologize to MeanMinnie. Angel goes to see his brother and tell him about the good dinner that the are having, Esteban bites Angel's head off. Esteban apologizes and says that his head hurts, Angel mentions that MeanMinne is in her room too. The exchange between the brothers was touching.
Art and Isa marvel over the nursery that Isa designed. All that is missing is a crib. Isa and Gaby haven't found the right crib. Art suggests that they use Ara's crib. Oh, she will jump for joy with that news.
Sonia is planning a party with Gil. It will take place in about a month. It's going to be a memorable celebration.
Sucia is with her "Ole Sugar Daddy", she has cooked something special for him and she tries to have some small talk trying to find out about his day and his book's whereabouts. He needs a massage, while Sucia eyes the black book. He is having problems at work, one of his best programmers resigned but it will work itself out.(Hmmmm- a job for Feo aka Javier) She finds the black book and he sees that she is snooping through it. Ole Honey Bear flips out and tells her that he doesn't want her sniffing through his stuff. He is going away and he will see her when he gets back.
Art and Isa share the news about the baby with Ara. They show her the sonogram photos, that get clearer and clearer. The baby will be born in 3 1/2 months. If was a girl, they could have named it after her mother. Art didn't think that it was a good idea. It's a boy. Art has his pair, a boy and a girl. Art suggests that Ara help name her baby brother and she corrects him with half brother, here we go!!! She goes into how she remember how she learned about half and step siblings when Daphne had her half brother years ago and loses her appetite. (Once again she should have been checked because now she has one carried this hate for 10 years) Isa feels that since Ara has been an only child for so long it's not easy to know that a sibling is coming and she will will never accept her baby. Art thinks that it's a natural process and that once Ara holds the baby she will feel differently and be the best sister in the world. Ara goes into the nursery and hears the voices in her head and remembers what Sucia told her, once the baby is born, they will kick her to the curb, her daddy will love the baby more than her.

Sara- (Near) incest has happened often in tns. Unless we, Cuca and Padre have wasted all this time thinking Mari is Sonia's kid, Mari and Daniel are related. This just might be the thing that pushes Cuca and Padre to reveal the truth when Dan brings Mari home as his new girlfriend.
Aw man! They were so cute together and Mari was so taken with him. Now I'm mad at Padre and Cuca, too. Dan and Mari are going to get hurt and it could have been avoided.
Vivi, since you're the font of all things TN Spanish, I'm wondering if in Mexico they use the words guero/a, guerito/a for light-skinned? I'm asking because in this cap Marinela called Daniel guero and he isn't blond; he is lighter-skinned than her, though? Also, are you watching La Impostora?

Yes. It's not just blondies that get called guero, but also folks with white skin and light eyes too.
I'm thinking about using the end of Marido to cut back on tn watching, so I didn't take on La Impostora. I've been scanning the comments though. I'll check out the beginning epis this weekend to see if I like it.

I'm completely on board about the 10 years stuck in hate. Aranza is a real piece of work.
On another note, is it really a good idea to have a child at this point? It has to feel really weird to have a sibling old enough to be one's parent without there being 10 in between like in the old days.

Great recap TJ! I liked "MeanMinnie is at Las Vegas." High stakes bingo...who knew?
All the little asides were priceless: "I would recognize those beady eyes anywhere." "Ara thinks bad of you just because."
Tita stole the show for me last night. I thought it was hilarious how she was kicking back on the motorcycle talking to Mari. Ana Martin must be having so much fun with this role after so many "meeker" roles the last few years.
Bruno was a runner up. I thought it was cute how he kept gagging during Tita and Ossie's conversation.
I definitely felt sorry for Ally last night.

I'm glad that Este quickly worked through his anger with his parents. But he's obviously still struggling with the death of Feo. As he said to Ara, he always had the idea that he'd be able to confront him and ask him questions someday. Of course, we know that he'll still have that chance, and they'll be a lot more to confront him about. I appreciate that Este said biological father instead of "real" father, as most tn characters tend to. I also enjoyed the sweet scene between the brothers.

Urban- My only sibling/sister is 15 years older than I am. Same father, different mothers. It's like having a sibling and a parent rolled into one, and you get the benefit of both being an only child (in the house) for most of your upbringing, and having a sibling who looks out for you. I wouldn't trade it.
I was glad Este got over his anger quickly as well. I wasn't real happy with his barging in and yelling at Mau and Andy.
I think another reason I enjoy this is the way they are handling the Mau/Andy and the children story. Just as you said, Vivi, they aren't pulling the biodad is "real" dad crap. They recognize quickly that Mau is the "real" dad.

Sorry for the typos in my early post. It was 5.45 am . And hub was honking the car horn for me. I did not have time to proofread. I meant to say that I got my wish for Tita to ride a motorcycle and wear black leather. Ana seems to love playing a biker chick. Rock on, Ana.

TJ...yes, you are so right. Mau and Andrea have built a loving family despite MinnieMean and Feo. Proof positive that one has to fight against negative influences to survive and thrive and keep the good alive. I can stand the evil if the good guys have small victories throughout the novela.

The young people in this tn are a reflection of the way they were raised.
Aranza- The first part of her life was grounded, stable, and filled with love. The second half of her life has been influenced by evil (Sonia) and by the schizophrenic parenting of post-Eugenia Art and desperate for acceptance Isa. Ara, therefore, is pretty schizophrenic herself, and we see the back and forth between good Ara and bad Ara.
Este- Raise first by a kind-hearted and dedicated mother the first half of his life. And the second half of his life he lucked out and got a kind-hearted and dedicated dad. Mau and Andy seem to always be on the same page in the way they parent their kids. Este is a kid-hearted and fair-minded, down-to-earth young man.
Ileana- Ever present and united parents, never seen by the audience, but it’s clear they are a big positive influence on their thoughtful and smart daughter.
Dafne- Uff! Where to begin? Selfish parents who emotionally (mom) and physically (dad) abandoned her. Spiteful/hateful mother who took her husband’s abandonment out on her daughter. Daf’s home life is an ugly mess, and so is she.
Daniel- Has a loving/caring, but emotionally distant father. Being a military man, Gil felt that his son should follow in the same footsteps, attending military boarding schools most of his life, despite Dan’s more pacifist nature. His mother died when he was young and he seems to have lacked a female presence in his life (being totally ignored by his big sister). The result—a kind-hearted, but awkward, reserved and shy young man, looking for the love of a woman.
Marianela- Perhaps the only anomaly among the young people. Raised in an orphanage where she was picked on and abused by the prefect, until she ran away as a teen. Somehow, she did not come out emotionally damaged or bitter. The only explanation is natural inner strength. Her reaction to the horrible childhood she had, is to try to make the childhood of other children in her situation better. She greets the world with a smile and a happy heart. This girl is truly one of a kind.
Borlas- Same starting point as Mari. Although he seems happy-go-lucky outwardly, he sees the world in a much more jaded way than Mari does, and views himself as an outsider. He’s quick to become defensive or to take offence. He also doesn’t mind breaking the law or rules. But like Mari, he has a good, kind heart and wants to help other kids.

My take on last night's episode is that Aranza is a lost cause to be redeemed for a long time because her hatred of Isa will result in Isa maybe losing her baby or worse.
