Mentir Para Vivir #99 Wed 2/26/14 Maricucu throws a fit, Alina throws a berrinche, and Ori throws her life out the window.

Maddie reaches out to Cesar for help, pleads her case, suggests he hit up Paloma for help, then puts down her cellmates (She’d better hope they didn't hear her)

We relive Antonio's death.  Poor chump.

Lo Nuevo
Ricky and Ori talk about how happy they are about the baby.  Ricky swears by Mariano's memory that he will show no preference for his baby over what's her name? Oh yeah, Alina.

Deserted Cabin
JL goes through Antonio’s pockets, removes his wallet, and drags him away.

Casa Bonita
Lucina continues her quest for Raquel to undergo a DNA test.  JL doesn’t have to be involved, they can compare the baby's DNA with that of Alina.  This will tell them if they're half siblings.  Once she has the proof in her hands (el pelo de la burra en la mano = hair of the donkey in her hand), she can confront JL.  He's already shown how much he loves his daughter -- why wouldn't he love the new baby?  He only rejected Raquel because he knows she's slept with others and thinks she just wants to saddle him with the baby!  What if it really is his baby?  Raquel reminds her he always used condoms.  Lucina tells her condoms aren’t fool-proof.

Rosa begs Jacky not to make things worse. They've already gone through so much to preserve her father's good name (cough).  Jacky doesn't care.  She wants them to pay for what they've done!  She tells momma to stop being so naive.  Joaquin was a lot worse than she thinks and surely ordered a few people killed in his day.  Rosa can't believe what she's hearing.  Jacky repeats that she wants “them” to pay and asks momma to hand over the CD so that the entire Organization crumbles.  She'll take care of explaining things to her brothers when they're of age and is sure they'll understand.  Rosa asks if Jacky has considered she (mom) could end up in jail too!  well.........

Hospital
Leo arrives at the hospital with a bouquet for Fabi.  She wants to be serious and reminds him she'll never be able to have children and he reminds her that a couple doesn't have to have children in order to be happy.  She thinks he's wonderful.  They kiss and tell each other they love one another.

Spies R Us
Homero, Piero, Manolo, and Seba huddle.  Homero thinks it would be wise for Seba to turn himself in before the authorities come looking for him. Even though Seba helped them out, he did know about the money laundering from the beginning and didn't report it.  Seba admits he was seduced by all the trappings of big money:  a Miami house, a yacht, cars. Homero tells him not to admit he knew about the laundering.  He should only to say he was employed there when Homero and his cronies contacted him.

Casa de Paloma
Ruben and Cesar go to Ricky to ask for help in getting an attorney for Matilde.  They don't have much money.  Ricky agrees but Ori asks them to please keep this from Paloma.  Cesar is worried Matilde will be convicted.  Ruben complains how he tried to warn her.  Ricky says they just have to wait and see what the Law says.

Spies R Us
Homero's still not satisfied.  They’ve only captured a piece of the Organization.  They need to get everyone.  That can only be accomplished with JL's infamous CD.  Homer starts deducing:  he agrees with Leo that JL may have given Rosa the CD to keep everyone happy but he's sure JL kept a copy and gave it to someone he trusts.  But who? Possibly someone with a good heart who would never betray him.  Leo guesses it has to be Ines.

Meanwhile, back at the killing field....
JL starts digging a grave and makes quick work of it.  Grave's dug and covered up and it's not even dark yet.  He finds the bag of money in what I suppose is Antonio’s car.

Darkness falls over El Bungalo Azul
Ruben and Ricky have a heart to heart about Ruben's and Fidelia's relationship. Ruben worries he doesn't have any money and now, no job either!  Ricky reminds him Fidelia doesn't have money of her own either, except what her sister,  his mom, left her.  Besides, love has nothing to do with money (what?!?).  Ricky has no objection to their relationship. In fact, he's very happy.  They both need companionship and they love each other.

Casa del Zorro
JL has showered and in his robe.  He calls Ori.  He complains he hasn't seen his daughter.  She asks Paloma if she's opposed to his coming to her house for his visit. Well, he prefers his house.  She doesn't budge and he has to give in.  But if he comes across that imbecil, well, he won't be responsible for what happens.  He takes a drink as he hangs up.  He doesn't even bother putting the glass down.  He tosses it over his shoulder and it crashes to the floor.  JL is in full cave man mode.

Casa de Paloma
Ori apologizes but she really doesn't like going to his house.  Paloma asks again if there's any possibility of their getting a divorce. OH GAWD!  Here we go again with the explanation and I lost my copy/paste original.  Here it goes.  Jose Luis Falcon married Oriana Caligares and she no longers exist.  She disappeared.  Paloma listens intently (she deserves an award for acting as though she hasn't heard this a gaziliion times before).  Ori explains, again, that JL can bring the house down on them if he were to go to the authorities and say that Ines is really Oriana.  Paloma says she is now legally Ines Valdivia under the witness protection program.  Doesn't matter, says Ines/Ori/Whatever, it would be a scandal!  She doesn't want to cause more problems for Paloma.  She doesn't understand how Paloma can continue to accept her as her own. Paloma can't explain. When she first saw Ori and Alina, it was as though the very doors to heaven had been opened to her.  By the time the truth came out, it was too late.  They were in her heart

Jail
Cesar and Piero meet.  Seba is being interrogated and Matilde will be up next.  Piero doesn't believe Matilde will be convicted.  She's just another victim.  It's obvious she was used.  Maybe they can find someone who can testify in her favor.

Seba walked out and happily tells them he's been declared innocent.  Manolo backed him up, saying he helped with the investigation.  Only problem now is, he has no job.  Piero tells him they'll find a solution to that problem.

Cesar is still worried about his mom.  Manriquez explains her situation is more complicated.  As president of the firm, she authorized the inflated invoices.  Matilde comes out just then on her way to her interrogation.  She hugs Cesar and swears she's innocent.  Seba tells him to hang in there.

Matilde swears to the investigator she had no idea about all the dirty goings on.  She never would have taken the position had she known.  Tony is the one her offered her the job.  The investigator finds it hard to believe Tony didn’t tell her anything.  All the invoices and contracts crossed her desk.  Did she not realize the prices were inflated and there were several fake positions?  Matilde swears she had no idea. She doesn't know anything about equipment and would never have had reason to count all the employees.  She trusted Tony.  She only signed what he put in front of her.  She swears she didn’t know anything.  The investigator continues to doubt her word.  She starts to get huffy with him, "Who do you think you're talking to?"  Manolo warns her to calm down and she immediately backs off.

Casa de Paloma
JL has come for his visit.  Alina declares she is very bored.  She wants to go on a vacation but knows they can't because Abuela is ill.  JL offers to take her but Ori immediately squashes that idea.  Alina brattily reminds her she promised they would go on vacation after school let out.  She accuses mommy of lying!  (ugh, kids).  Ori tells her to go ask Nadia for a pitcher of lemonade but Alina refuses, "I don't want to!"  JL scolds her and tells her to do as she's told.  She storms off, griping, with Tito following close behind.  After she's gone, Ori complains.  How dare he suggest he go off alone with Alina! He doesn't see a problem, he's her father.  Yeah, a delinquent, sick, drunk of a father! He asks if she's ever had a drink.  Does she see something wrong in his attitude?  Oria tells him to stop being ridiculous.  Perhaps he's not drinking this very moment but she knows he's been drinking and not taking his meds. She will NEVER leave him alone with Alina.  He suggests then that she join them.  Do it for Alina.  Please.

Jail
Matilde comes out of the interrogation in tears.  Manriquez tells Ruben that they've sentenced her to an automatic prison sentence (did I get that right?)  Bottom line, they didn't believe her when she said she had no idea what she was signing.  Ruben is exasperated.  Of course she didn't check into anything.  She doesn't know anything about the construction business.  It was enough that everyone saw her as the president.  Her only hope is for an employee to come forward in her favor.  Ruben immediately thinks of Escalon.

Aresti Breton
Ricky congratulates Seba.  Seba later tells him he's finished with La Prepa and is ready to enter the University.  He wonders where Antonio is.  Piero is sure that sooner or later he’ll be caught.  BWA-HA-HA

Jacky arrives to see Ricky.  Some condolences are spoken about Mariano.  Such a wonderful man, etc. etc.  Jacky wants those responsible to pay.  Once alone, she tells Ricky her mother has the infamous CD.  Jacky no lobnger cares about protecting her father's name.  He was one of Them. Her mother however, feels differently.  She's known about the illicit affairs of the Organization and failed to report it.  She's worried she'll be pulled in along with everyone else.  As far as he knows, Ricky says close relatives can't be held responsible for the crimes of loved ones.  As Joaquin's wife, nothing can happen to Rosa.  Ricky is careful to say all this should be corroborated with an attorney.

Rosa's Hotel Room
Patrick has come to visit.  He tells her that the CD in her possession is very dangerous.  Sammy wasn't the only one interested in the CD.  The police also want to get their hands on it.  It's possible any enemy of the Organization will want to take it from her.  "Duh, I hadn't thought of that," she admits.  He asks her to hand it over in order to protect her life as well as those of everyone involved.  She worries about the promise she made to JL.  Patrick promises the CD will be as safe in his hands as in hers.  No one wants the contents of that CD to be released.  The Organization has decided to destroy the CD and El Zorro doesn't need to know that.  She wants assurance they won't go after JL.  He gives her his word (choke).

Maricucu under Glass
Maricucu gazes fondly at a photo of her with Ricky in happier times.  She has a visitor!  She thought it was her tia, but it's Manriquez.  He's come to tell her Ricky has decided to seek a divorce.  She can't believe it.  He can't leave her like this after everything she's gone through.  WAAAAH.  (She looks so pretty without all the makeup)  She begs to speak with Ricky.  Manriquez assures her he won't abandon her case but as far as the divorce is concerned, it's decided.  She wants Ricky to tell her himself. She doesn't want a divorce.  Manriquez tells her it doesn't matter what she wants.  This has to do with the law.  He leaves and she screams after him, begging him to stop the divorce.  She goes into panic mode and starts hyperventilating. The guard comes to get her, saying they should get her to the infirmary.

Rosa's Hotel  Room
Jacky arrives to tell Mom she has nothing to fear.  She can't be held accountable, etc, etc.  Rose admits she no longer has the CD. She gave it to Patrick.  Jacky doesn't understand, "You know how I wanted to end all the violence and the horrible things my father did.  Those people are to blame for the death of the only man I’ve ever loved.  Instead of making them responsible for what happened, you rewarded (premiar) them!"  Rosa explains it was for their protection.  If someone else had come looking for it, what could they have done?  Would she want them to live constantly looking over their shoulders with body guards watching over them? Jacky is sure everything would have ended if they had turned over the CD to the authorities.  Rosa is sure there would have been reprisals from the Organization. There was no other way out.  Jacky feels Rosa lost the only hope they had to finish off those dammed assassins.  She's taken away the only way she had of avenging Mariano's death!  She leaves her mother impactada with her words.

Casa de Paloma
Alina's Room
Ori worries that Alina hasn’t left her room since JL left.  Alina's angry and settling into a major berrinche.  She'd been waiting all semester to go on vacation.  Her father wants to take her but mommy won’t let him.  She wants to go and begins to cry (love this little actress).  She remembers that she was allowed to go everywhere with him in Columbia: shopping, the park, the movies.  Why are things different?  She accuses Ori of not loving her.  Mommy had promised and now she's saying no.  She tells Ori to leave her room.

Paloma’s Room
Ori is heartbroken to see Alina this way.  Paloma blames JL and his influence.  No way they can let JL take her.  Oh brother, Ori's only solution is to go ahead and go with them.  Paloma refuses to accept this.  She'll even take the fall for it.  Tell Alina she's opposed to the idea.  She prefers Alina hate her rather than let her be alone with that monster.

Casa Bonita
Raquel is furious that JL doesn't answer her calls.  Lucina is sure he's in danger.  Any member of the Organization can kill him now.  If Raq's baby is indeed his, she stands to inherit all his money, which is certainly quite a haul.  And if it's not his, well, no matter.  Raquel is sure Ori wouldn't want her daughter involved with her (Raq's) baby.  Lucina doesn't think so.  She's sure that Ori feels JL will lose interest in Alina once he knows Raq is carrying his baby (huh?).  She warns Raquel not to tell JL everything they've discussed.  Raquel agrees but I don't kow.  She doesn't look too convincing to me.

Casa del Zorro
Rosa comes to tell him the bad news that she's given Patrick the CD after she was warned she and her family were in danger if she kept it.  She tells him she told Patrick JL has the original (did she?).  She's leaving Mexico now but isn't sure about Jacky.  JL is grateful for the info.  They wish each other luck and Rosa leaves.

Oriana calls him and tells him she's decided to let him take Alina on vacation and she will accompany them. STUPID move but we need a major confrontation for El Gran Final.  JL is predictably ecstatic at the news.  She'll let him know when they can go, after Fabiola comes home. He wants to start planning right away.  Oriana is infuriated when he calls her "Amor". Oh, please girlfriend, get over it.

Casa de Paloma – Lucina delivers some tough love
Lucina is Oriana and tells her this is not a good idea.  She's concerned Oriana overcompensates for everything Alina has gone through and has become like her slave.  Oriana doesn't want to hear it but Lucina won't let it go.  She tells her to get over her guilt already.  She's got a "mango" of a man, a fortune at her disposal, and yet, she insists on crying in the corner.  Oriana feels Lucina just doesn't understand.  "Oh, I understand," says Lucina.  "You just love suffering and being the victim."  Right on  Lucina!

Casa del Zorro
JL is making vacation plans.  He wants something fancy yet secluded.  How far is that house from the nearest town?

Spies R Us
Jacky visits Homer.  She had hoped her mother would give him the CD.  Instead, she gave it to Patrick.  She's only interested in protecting Joaquin's name.  She repeats that she no longer cares about protecting her father's name and only wants to see those responsible for Mariano's death pay for their crimes.  She tells him JL admitted to giving a copy of the CD  to someone but didn't name names.  Homer is frustrated but promises her they will trap everyone.  Even without the CD, they have a lot of
information and evidence.

Casa de Paloma
Lucina and Alina make like they're going to the hospital, but this looks very suspicious to me.  Ricky calls Paloma saying he's been trying to get hold of Ori but her phone is switched off.  Paloma figures she's forgotten to turn it on.  She just saw her leave with Alina, Lucina, and Raquel.  Ricky thinks it strange Raquel would be with them.

Prison Hospital
Maricucu has suffered an anxiety attack.  The nurse leaves her alone in the room with syringes, and scalpels, and meds,, oh my!  We next hear a woman’s voice crying out, "Marilu, Marilu, Marilu!"  Maricucu is on her bed, blood dripping from her hands as the voice calls for the guard that she's slit her wrists!  Poor crazy Maricucu.

Casa del Zorro
El Zorro is drinking and is very anxious.  "It's now or never."  He calls a guy named Orlando.  He needs a plane to Santo Domingo this weekend at noon.  He's traveling with his wife and daughter but they don't have passports, understand?  No problemo, says Orlando.  JL smiles a sick smile.     BWAHAHA

The reason I can't root for Oriana & Ricky is Oriana lies too much and Ricky is too distrustful. Of course he is distrustful because she lies too much. She lies about everything and to everyone and at this point I hope JL takes her & Alina away, never to be heard from again.

Rosa has 2 underage children to think about. Jacky's need for revenge vs the safety of her brothers? Sorry, Jacky, safety wins every time.

Couldn't Fabiola and Leo adopt?

Fidelia is too weak to me. No wonder Matilde was able to snatch Ruben away from her. And she'll probably blame Ricky for Marilu's suicide.

Dear Paquita,

Thank you for this great recap. I love the way you have organized it and enjoyed your comments! Wow, Oriana is throwing it all askew with this crazy plan.

I want to thank you and Cynderella yesterday for your splendid recaps and writing talents. You made this novela, particularly as it has gone off the rails, much more fun.

Well, now Lucina has told Oriana that Alina is spoiled. Many of our bloggers have said so for some time! And, I believe that JL made that argument. The little actress is so good and really, the child has had so many changes, but this vacation idea is nuts, nuts, nuts.

And, Anon., I agree about Oriana and Ricardo. It's so hard to root for these two given his possessiveness, her disception and general uncertainty (she says "no se" while doing that funny thing with her lips way too much) and their juvenile dialogue. I often think that Mayrin looks as bored with their relationship as we are. I have to give DS credit, however. He brings a lot of energy to the role!

Two more nights during and what looks like some violence between JL and Oriana.

Paquita-Excellent recap, with your usually astute observations.

Since the writers have had other characters tell our protagonists that they are being idiotic in their jealousy and possesiveness (Rick), and waffling and self induced misery (Ori), why would they continue to highlight these character flaws all the way to the bitter end? They must know they are just as annoying to the audience as they are to the other characters. Both Ori and Rick should be acting smarter by now, especially Ori who has to know JL will try to hold them prisoner. Fool!

I don't mind Mati getting time behind bars because she was warned. She chose to ignore the warnings because she enjoyed listing her new position over others. Well, now she can be the classiest lady...in her prison block.

That's lording her new position over others. Tablet doesn't think that's a real word.

Good re-cap, but here is my question.... Why do TNs allow 5 and 6 year old children to dictate the lies of the adults. This happened in PEAM also.

Now Oriana/Oriole will put her life and Rhodelina's life in jepardy because the kid wants to go on vacation.....

I agree with ANON207, I can't stand the thought of Rick the Mitt with Ori/Oriole, and I change my mind on Joe St.Louis/Falcons being with her too...after all he is a murderer. So what should Ori do? Cash in her Granny/Slam Poloma chips get Homer Run to get her a green card and move to the US? - Yes, her big beautiful "eyes" will get her any life style she desires....but she has to quit that Lying.

Ironic that this TN ends as "March Madness" begins....My NCAA junkies will know what I mean.

Holy moly, what a mind bender of an episode. Thank you Paquita for bringing it to us every week. You are a great recapper.

I forgot to set up my recorder to record the episode so I had to rely on the recap, and after reading it, I'm glad I forgot to record it because I would be screaming at Oriana. So her kid wants to go on a vacation and Oriana has to comply? My kid wants to go on vacations too but in my home, it's not up to her. It's too dangerous to go and telling her no, not this summer, should be enough. End of discussion. What will Ric think when he finds out she agreed to go a vacation with JL? Let' hope that Lucina et al are going somewhere far away and not with JL.

So now I'm confused by Ruben's employment. Anon207 must have been correct that he was hired away from his former job and was working for the new real estate development company if he's now out of a job since they've been shut down. If he were still working for his previous employer, he wouldn't be out of work, he'd just need a new project.

So a prison nurse leaves the prisoner alone with sharp objects, lol.

Oriana gives Ricky reasons to be insecure and crazy. Now he's probably gonna have to go rescue her and get shot at. Like I said yesterday, how can he believe the baby is his and trust her if she's always sneaking off to be "alone" with Jose Luis. I'd sue for my baby and dump her butt.

Also, I know people like who raise their kids like that. Whenever I go to my friend's house, the kid gets to choose what we watch on tv, he interrupts our conversation...get this! She makes a separate meal for him because he doesn't like what they eat. She even has pediasure on hand so he can get his nutrition. The boy is 5. They take him to a psychiatrist to understand why he doesn't like the food that she cooks. Back when he was 3, we told her to just tell him "this is what's for dinner", you don't have to eat it, but this is what we are eating. She and her husband said it was cruel and they would be starving their son. Now they have a monster who expects separate meals.

Cyn- Last year I went to a brunch party (that’s what folks my age with little kids do these days, *sigh*), everyone brought all kinds of delicious food. But my friend’s boyfriend’s daughter, a 5 year old, still insisted on having one of the only foods she accepts eating—heated up frozen chicken nuggets. I couldn’t believe it. He carries that crap around to feed her, because she refuses to eat much of anything else.

When I was age 5-7, I was also a very picky eater. I ate hardly anything. Lots of foods just made me want to hurl. My parents and I had a war of wills. I would sit at the table staring at my plate long after they had finished. I can only imagine my parents’ frustration. But, they kept the food healthy, they introduced variety, and for the most part, they kept their patience and never gave up. I eventually grew out of it. But when I look back at that time now, I realize it was also when we moved from Jamaica to the States. Clearly there were emotional issues going on too that got tied to food. I can understand why Alina is acting out with all the crazy changes in her life, but Oriana’s job is to set the boundaries, while also assuring Alina that she will always be loved. It’s a tough thing to balance.

I too was a picky eater. My mom tells everyone about how I was given the choice to eat what is in front of me or not. Often I chose not to eat, but I didn't STARVE. I ate when I got hungry enough. We were on welfare and she couldn't make all those extra meals. That kid can be picky because he is spoiled. She even says that she was raised where she ate what was put in front of her. She thinks her mom was cruel and she doesn't want to raise her kid that way. WHATEVER!

Paquita, I am going to miss your recaps. I SO hope you will be recapping another TN?

Lucina is the only female character with a voice of reason. The writers destroyed the original Oriana and now we just have a martyr who perpetually lies.

I can root for Ric, but I cannot root for Oriana. If she is STUPID enough to go with JL and STUPID enough to be manipulated by Rhodalina Penmark, then she DESERVES what is going to happen to her.

This just seems like such a weak ending to what could have been a fantastic TN...and the Malibu Marilu latest incident is just plain STUPID.

Color me disappointed.

Fatima

LeeFox, agree, good thing this ended right before March Madness!!!

Fatima

Thanks Paquita, your recaps have been great and very entertaining treats as well.

I can't believe there are only two episodes left. How will they ever squeeze in everything we need to wrap this up? What? No elaborate wedding? We've got couples lined up here... Ricky and Inez, Fabiola and Leo, Fidelia and Ruben, Paloma and Homero, César and Raquel, Lucina and Manolo... well... surely at least Ricky and Inez...

And of course...JL needs to die.

At the rate the blood was dripping from Marilu's wrist, she should be dead by about... ummm... June. She made María's attempt (LQLVMR) look downright serious.

Carlos

Thank you everyone for the compliments. Much appreciated.

This should have been called Vivir para Mentir (did someone already say that?)

Ori is just too, too, much. It's not like JL is a plain old Joe working 9-5 at a bank, wanting to see his kid. He's a crook, involved in a big time Organization! She may not know firsthand he's a murderer, but if it walks like a duck.......birds of a feather.....dime con quien andas.....you get the point.

As for Alina's berrinche. Hey, all kids are gonna throw tantrums. They're always gonna test you. That's their job, right? As a parent, it's your responsibility to set the boundaries. I can see her as a teenager wanting her own place just because "you promised me!!!!" Egads! I'm glad Lucina tried to set her straight.

Ricky, Ricky, Ricky. Boy talk about getting stuck with someone with baggage! Not only does she have an ex, he's an ex with some powerful enemies ready to kill you at every turn! He would have been better off with Maricucu. Hell, he should have hit up his receptionist.

All kids are going to push their will onto their parents, if they don't they're not normal. Being a picky eater is a form of a power struggle too. I'm not saying that kids can't have many foods they dislike, but no hates everything. Only eat chicken nuggets? There is no way that can be the only thing she can like in the world, but she sure does control that situation nicely. My parents made me eat everything on my plate before I could leave the table, so I choked down many foods that I didn't like. As a parent, I think this is too strict, and with my daughter, she doesn't have to finish everything on her plate but if she doesn't, she doesn't get dessert or anything after the meal. That was our rule for her since she was little.

But food aside, children shouldn't be dictating when and where they go on vacation either, even in a situation like Oriana and JL's. Oriana has every say in this and she shouldn't be giving in if she's worried that JL may do something harmful.

Paquita - Terrific recap of all the craziness. I've enjoyed your recaps and the translations. Thanks for Lucina's "el pelo de la burra en la mano." My favorites:

"OH GAWD! Here we go again with the explanation..."

"Maricucu under Glass"

"STUPID move but we need a major confrontation for El Gran Final."

Guess I'm getting sentimental about MPV, cause I'm finally satisfied with Ori and Ricky as a couple. Maybe it's because Ricky has stopped wearing the ascots. Also, I feel bad for Ori and Mayrin cause the writers have thrown the woman under the bus. No way would Ori, even with all her crying, agree to another plane trip with JL and no way would she quietly leave the room when her 7 year old disrespectfully tells her to get out.

Poor Marilu. I'm not blaming Ricky, but knowing her BSC started with their fake marriage for his benefit, he could've come with the attorney to deliver the divorce news.

Yeah, I don't like what they did with the womenfolk in this TN. I guess the galan is always supposed to rescue the damsel in distress but can't we do that without making the woman crazy?

re: Marilu -- she had an affair with Ricky long ago. When she came back, there was this lingering obsession she had about rekindling the lurve. This was handled nicely when she "accepted" that Ori was going to end up with Ricky because she actually liked Oriana. So when she agreed to marry Ricky, I suppose the writers couldn't let it remain as just an agreement between two friends. Noooooo, they had to turn her crazy, and slutty, and self destructive. egads.

re: Ori -- she originally lied to protect herself and her daughter from her crazy ex and his evil associates. She gained Paloma's confidence and Ricky's love. She could have been a strong woman who fought off her ex -- physically and legally. Rick could have helped her, that's what lovers do. But nooooooo, she has to do something completely stoooopid and fly off with a crazy man so our galan can come to the rescue of his lady love. Egads, again

My first comment has a typo, I meant to say "Why do TNs allow 5 and 6 year old children to dictate the lives of the adults"
I have only watched 4 TNs, this is my first drama, so I thought the children running things in the other three, were part of the comedy...Fat chance of that, little Rhodalina Princessa has had a smart mouth lately to go with her demands... On the PEAM blog, commenters got upset when I said that little precessa needed a back hand to the mouth, so I won't say that here.....but you know what I am thinking.

Thanks Paquita the recaps. I enjoyed its and learn a lot. I would like to read other recaps from you.

Oriana is too permissive, Alina needs a little parental strictness, and they can go on vacation another time. Alina has a dog, a bicycle, a camera, a huge teddy bear. She lives like in Canaan.

Maricucu's fin remembered me Carmina Buvier Citrus Sister. :)

And will the finish be the full episode on Friday (near 90 minutes) or will it cut a shorter episode?

Thanks for the recap Paquita. I have enjoyed your work throughout this crazy ride. It is too bad the story didn't end as strong as it began.

ITA w/the comments about women being made stupid in this tn for plot purposes. At least Maddie is in jail for a minute.

Gracias, Paquita, for this and all your excellent recaps of this train wreck of a show! I was thinking the same thing about Marilu...way prettier without all the makeup. Her face lost that plastic-y sheen. Also agree with your frustration about the "Why I can't get a divorce" speech from Ines for the umpteenth time, Alina pulling the strings, and Ines losing her spine.

Thanks, Paquita. I've read and appreciated all of your recaps. There's no way I would have stuck with this TN without you and all of the recappers wonderful wit.
