Que Pobres tan Ricos #34 Friday Feb 21, 2014... AS is happily living the life she is used to, CHAAAAARGE IT!! to the corporate office (yikes!)... Mini discovers about A-hole and Adolfo setting up MA for the fraud...
Argument continues about whether AS stole the money. MA defends her, being a daughter of Mexican aristocracy does not mean she doesn’t have values. Chuy also believes AS would not do that to them. MA puts a face like ‘I wish I could believe that myself’.
Nepo and Gwendy arrive at fonda with Carmelita. They had locked the door because of the argument. JT comes out to explain.
Meanwhile AS has arrived somewhere in a taxi. (seems a high end spa where they already know her)
Back to Fonda. Lupe still upset about the stolen money. Nepo also in disbelief. Apparently Tomas is about to spill the beans about AS being a ‘person of interest’ but the menchacas quickly take Tomas away. Nepo will call his brother in law the police commander. He calls him.
Adolfo arrives at A-hole’s and is mad. A-hole was not willing to give him any time on a Sunday. Adolfo tells him Saul Ballesteros has been following him around. A-hole lets him come in. Again Mini hears the conversation between A-hole and Adolfo. Adolfo not willing to end up in jail. Adolfo demands A-hole to clean his name and find the money for the deal with ‘El Bambi’. A-hole will ask Vilma to take care of it. A-hole also mentions that it is an issue about MA. A-hole laughs when Adolfo leaves ‘darn imbecile, I wish I could see his face when he is arrested’. Mini does not hear this last line since she had to hide before Adolfo left the room.
Nepo is a bit miffed about the issue of the money owed to the RP’s, he is willing to negotiate with them. Lupe and Chuy won’t accept that. They will find a way to pay for it. MA wants the RPs to leave, Mati wants to stay, when the cops arrive it should get good.. MA takes them upstairs.
At Fonda attic, Frida afraid for MA, she wants him to leave before the cop commander arrives. Saul is there too. Calms everyone else saying its not like MA is in the most wanted posters in the police stations. We all should just calm down to not raise suspicions. MA asks everyone to calm down. Mati mentions that grandpa always drank tea to calm down. MA visibly anxious repeats they all need to calm down (I would begin with myself if I were MA)
Mini talks to A-hole, you just want me for the son I am about to give you. Just for that. A-hole assures her ‘till death do us part’. Mini says today is Sunday, we should spend the day with my mother doing something fun and you are working… I just saw that Mr Giron visiting.
MA is trying to call AS’ cell phone, she rejects the call. She is about to pay with check, but the establishment only takes cash or credit. She acts all offended. She just spent thousands of dollars. The manager comes by. The manager chews out the employee and accepts the check from AS. She ‘forgives them, make sure it doesn’t happen again’. ‘if you have any problem with that check call the RP company. They will take care of it.’ (OUCH!! What did you just do AS???)
MA and Frida at attic continue talking about AS. She would not be capable of taking something that is not her own. Saul calls MA out. Tells MA it was very convenient to him for that money to disappear. MA says yes, maybe but it does not mean I did it. I would not do that to the menchacas or anyone else.
A-hole and Mini… she talks too much, tells him she heard shouts from Adolfo and him to each other. She plays offended by his distrust. He suggest they make amends in the bathtub. She warns him she could get sick. He says lets try it anyway.
AS has not stopped, she is entering the best hotel, and is wearing a mink coat that matches DaVinci’s color. She claims vip treatment as AS Romagnoli RP. She denies giving a credit card to the receptionist. She gives them some cash and wants them to charge the rest to the account of the RP company (again!!). She orders a champagne bottle and wants a direct line with the bartender of the hotel (wow, she is in for the works!).
Mini and A-hole getting intimate… and Isela walks in shouting… she apologizes for interrupting. Mini says no sweat, we will move to the bedroom. A-hole likes the idea. Isela makes faces and keeps sipping her drink.
AS is having a private banquet in her hotel room with all kinds of delicacies, escargot, seafood, etc. She finally answers the phone call from MA. She could not tolerate the misery and went to talk to the ArchBishop. She tells him they are in the middle of service, so she can’t talk much. She tells him the bishop recommended to her to take refuge at a convent. She needs to ask the higher religious figures for some rescue.
A-hole and Mini are picking it up where they were when Isela interrupted. Mini plays his ‘lion roar’ game and tells him she will get rid of her mother. When she leaves he says something, I will catch it tomorrow.
MA asks AS if she took the money that disappeared when she disappeared. She claims she is too religious and would never break the seventh commandment. She does sin a bit but would never be a burglar. She tells him she will stay in the convent for a while and make a vow if silence. AS calls downstairs and asks for a hairstylist and manicurist. Charge it to the account!
Perla and Gwendy talk about the lost money. Lupe asks Nepo to let her talk to her family in private. Lupe asks them if they have any idea who stole the money. JT points to AS. Chuy says can’t point fingers to ‘la donita’ just like that. Lupe asks her family to be careful what they tell the cops. Don’t say about MA running from the law. JT asks so what. Lupe says they all would be accused of covering up for a runaway. You think about that.
Mini tries to read the messages in A-hole’s cell phone. He calls for her
At school they are giving subway subs and the kids get talking about what their parents bought them.
MA and Lupe at the open patio area… MA says he had hoped she had put it away. Lupe says don’t worry about it. MA mentions what his mother is going through. Lupe asks is she alright? MA says no…she went into a convent. Lupe asks him to swear to her that no one in his family took that money. He does. She goes downstairs to attend to the cops. He calls her back to thank her for all her help for his family.
A-hole still waiting while Mini keeps fiddling with his cell phone. She finally hears a voice mail from Adolfo telling A-hole that MA and Saul are following him, maybe they found out about him framing MA for the fraud.
AS with hairstylist and manicurist. She plays the spoiled ‘madame rich’ role to perfection. She calls Chavelita and Genobeba about all the responsibilities of being rich. She asks them to call all their charity women for a meeting tonight. She is enjoying the massage to her head.
A-hole comes out, he even took a shower waiting for her. She is not in the mood anymore. HE gets angry and demands she tell him what is going on. HE blames it on her pregnancy. She agrees. And warns him that will be the case for the next few months.
At the fonda, the cops are questioning the Menchacas. Nepo mentions the relatives from afar. The cop wants to see where she had placed the money.
Mini replaces the phone where it was. Isela tells her she was invited to the meeting of the ‘vip ladies’. They did not invite her but did not tell her not to go either. (LOL!) Mini tells her she is sure now that A-hole set up MA and accused him for the fraud he did not commit. Mini is sure MA is innocent. Mini is willing to help MA in any way she can. Isela rants at her, if your hubby catches you you will loose everything!! You should be on your hubby’s side!! A-hole comes down. He is not happy with Mini’s mood swings. He wonders why his cell phone is there. Mini puts on a show of upset mood.
At school, the kids are downtalking about Emiliano’s shoes. Emiliano does not understand why brand names are so important. They suggest he get his mom to take him to this particular store.
Lupe shows the cop the spot. Chuy says we never had so much money together. Cop says you should never keep amounts like that in the house, should take it to a bank. They mention that night they had a wrestling event there. Cop asks if they have security cameras. Chuy angry that they don’t. Cop says it could have been anyone then. Anyone could tell the tile was loose and could have taken the money. He is afraid they will never get their money back. All the Menchacas are worried.

AS and her very fine adventure were a hoot. So now she is bouncing checks and charging it all to the company. I wanted to ask her: Think much? Guess it is all amount money "extension." Hmmmm. Makes me wonder how long before it all falls in on her and the others big time.
I loved her explanation to MA about the conversation with the archbishop and going off to the convent complete with sound effects. Da Vinci was so cute in his little red outfit.
The poor Menchacas really are in a fix owing $25,000 to both Nepo and the Ruiz-Palacios. So now their debt is $50,000. On a serious note, It must be overwhelming.

Feeling the for the Menchacas big time and can't wait to see MA's reaction if and when he finds out his mother is nothing but a selfish, common thief especially after he swore no RP would do such a thing.
AS is an idiot showing her face all over town and inviting "the girls" for a reunion on her ill-gotten goods. She better have a pretty good story about why she is there and company business won't fly when Min and Mama show up.
I really felt sorry for Emiliano and his little friends, already snobs, pointing out his shoes. I will be glad when the truth of who he really is and comes out and he can have some of the "things" they do but I know his solid upbringing by Lupe will keep him from being an entitled brat. Also got a kick out of seeing the adorable little guy who played Lupe's son in Refugio and the little Esteban in PSMA. He is talented and really gets around.

If AS can get what she wants just by bullying and telling people to "charge it to the company" (?!), now I'm wondering why she put up with living at Casa Menchaca for so long. And won't everyone be mad when they find out that the Menchacas no longer owe the money to the RPs, but the RPs don't have any of it left to move out and move on. She is seriously selfish. She couldn't have spent ANY of that on some new clothes to be anonymously delivered to MA?
Well, now that Minerva knows about the fraud, she can get to work looking for proof and also looking to get back with MA. Finally some forward plot movement? Yay. I'm amazed that we're so many episodes in and the A plot romance isn't underway.

Though I'm very disappointed in her, I'm looking forward to AS and her girlfriends getting back together. I was eagerly anticipating AS's room service meal but would have liked to have seen a bit of steam coming off the warm food and some ice under the cold stuff. It was very pretty though.
I hope that Tito is enjoying being pampered at the doggy spa, but I think that he'd prefer being cuddled by Leo.

Thanks for the fun recap Marta. I didn't get to watch, but I don't mind. I hate that the Menchacas are suffering, while AS is living it up. I really hope she gets busted right away.

Thanks, Marta. Boy oh boy, what a mess. All I can think about is what Jarifa already mentioned - the Menchacas think they're on the hook for 600,000 pesos now on top of whatever they owe Sharky.
Even if AS comes clean immediately, I know Lupe wasn't happy about the original loan from Nepo in the first place, since they also have Sharky's loan.
It will be a long while before anybody is in a position to buy Emiliano a fine pair of Snobby Boy Sneakers unless Lupe gets to feeling so spiteful towards MA that she actually seeks out Ahole... which doesn't seem likely... wow, what a nightmare that would be.

I'm curious to find out what Ahole/the company will do when they find out about AS's charges. Refuse them and let word get around that one of their shareholders is running up bad debts in the company's name? Pay them just to keep up the public image? Hunt her down and throw her in debtor's prison?
Is she really a shareholder? If so, she must have some income periodically. I'm sure she can spend a year's worth within a week, though.

I sort of want the hotel to get the police to come haul her off to jail...and we know her kids don't have any bail money, so maybe she could cool her well-pedicured heels there for a couple weeks and get a new perspective.

Of course, bailing Mom out of jail is probably something MA would borrow money from Saul for, because his warped sense of responsibility seems to mean protecting his adult family members from the consequences of their own actions, like they are all helpless children.
Maybe AS can get public service as part of her sentence... you know, picking up dog turds in the park, for example.
