Que Pobres Tan Ricos: #165 and #166: 8/24/14: El Grand Fin
Buona Sera Alla Tutti! It's the Grand Fin! I enjoyed recapping this TN so much, it has been a fun ride. We are doing this Grand Fin in three parts. Marta has the first part, I have the middle and Julie as the last part. I want to thank Jane our Blog Mom for all her fantastic recaps, Ezra for his unique point of view, Marta for all the help she gave me when I missed something and her very marvelous recaps and Julie for all the help she gave me too and all the funny recaps and fantastic recaps , and I 'd also like to thank all the commenters that commented throughtout this TN. With tears in her eyes Vilma makes her statement: Since he took over the presidency when Mati could not anymore, (because Alejo himself gave her medication that made her confused). He used the Editorial to launder money that came from his other felonies and criminal associations… (DA asks her if she has evidence, since she was the one suspected guilty of those felonies) She says but of course, there is a notebook full of numeric codes of all his overseas accounts… encoded codes from his criminal associates, information about his relationship with those criminals… which I can perfectly decipher/decode…

Que Pobres tan ricos #164.Aug 21 2014.. Emi makes little signs of progress, reunites with the Menchacas. A-hole is ready to celebrate his win.... but what did he win?? Boy, Aureliano finds a way to teach humility even after death.
Isela warns Mini not to tell anyone about the secret Isela wants to cash when she wants… Mini insults her and gets slapped for it. ISela gets on internet looking for non-profit she can buy. Nothing about greenpeace, hate animals, amnesty international, nah, don’t care about human rights… Isela keeps protesting about the slap… Isela says you earned it for annoying. Poor kids foundations… no I hate them… besides, who would you be able to marry a poor kid with?
Lupe questions A-hole on locking them up… Lupe warns him not to lock them up again. Lupe wants to leave with Emi, but A-hole overrides her… A-hole wants to talk to Emi alone. Lupe leaves irritated.
A-hole coaches Emi against MA, MA only wants to separate us… and your mom is in relationship with MA… Emi questions why did you tell me before not to tell her I knew about her and MA and now you want me to… A-hole says use it in your favor, tell her she can’t leave you for him… surely she will stay with us then…
MA and Saul argue at fruteria office, MA can talk real fast when he is angry… he is mocking A-hole’s tone of voice… has been talking like that since he was a kid per MA, now I hate him even more… MA can’t wait to be able to beat the crap out of A-hole. Saul says hold your impulses… the ‘tipejo’ has a restriction order against you… wait until after the issue of the clause… MA says that’s the problem, each day I doubt more that A-hole will fulfill the promise to get away from Lupe and Emi… otherwise, why the restriction order??
At Fonda Perla is holding a kitchen roll and some kitchen towel as a sash and is practicing her speech by holding some home made tiara… Leo, DA and Rita come and mock her a bit… Perla tells them she is counting on their support… she wants them to buy vote tickets for the contest. (its kind of like raffle tickets). Rita says the day is getting close she will return to the US. DA asks her why so soon? Rita asks DA if he has thought about whether he is going with her or not.
MA tells Saul that he has been thinking of what Vilma said about the notebook… if she said not even A-hole would think of it, it must be very obvious place… Saul says what if he hid it in office? MA says its more probable she hid it in his house… if the house is empty, no one will find it.

Que Pobres Tan Ricos #163: 8/21/14: She's Come Undone
Hola Amiguis! This is my last full recap for Pobres. I didn't take many notes, so if I got something wrong just let me know. Take a listen to this little earworm as you read the recap. She's Come Undone! Shall we begin?
I am skipping the old and getting right to the new.
At El Editoral Vilma calls Ahole. She still wants out of the joint. He tells her to be patient that he'll be the President soon and then he'll get her out. Vilma is googly eyed and beleives the lying liar that lies. Sucks to be Vilma.
Carm and Guendy are having a chat. Once Guendy marries Nepo she will be moving into his abode and Carm says no worries, she is still going to be living at Guendy's. Carm has to go now, but will talk to her more this evening.

Pobres, Wednesday night
EmiliAhole gets to infuriate Chuy by obnoxiously talking about leaving with his dad.
Mike tries to get the book of evidence from Mini. Good luck. She swears on some grim portraits of her grandfathers that she doesn't know, then proceeds to sexily pin him up against the window blinds. He amusingly struggles to escape.
Ahole himself oozes his greasy self into the Chuy house to drag off lil EmiliAhole. The little twerp reveals the phone his dad has been using to communicate with him behind mom's back. Basically, Ahole has threatened Lupita, saying if she doesn't come live with him he'll tell the judge she was neglectful. Also she understandably doesn't want the kid to be alone with his awful dad. But I say that ship has sailed. The twerp already sucks, let him rot!
Nepo has a confrontation with some young dudes I don't recognize.They make fun of Diego and he flies off the handle and must be restrained.
Mike tries to talk Lupita out of leaving with her son. He doesn't think the punk is in danger of becoming an "Alejito," but meh.
In the devil's den, EmiliAhole is delighted, Ahole makes some jabs about how great it is to see Lupita without suffering the odor of poverty.
AS is on the phone with someone, busily abusing the authority that she wangled bi forging her son's signature. Leo wanders in and rightly assumes that she's up to no good skulking in the kitchen. He tells her she should celebrate the impending arrival of her first nietuqi, but she's not buying it.
Mike tries to get into Ahole's place, and we are treated to the two of them spouting insults at each other for a bit.
Guendy and Rita gang up on Nepo about Diego and how he should accept that his kid has different dreams than his dad.
OMG NEPO COMES TO GUENDY'S ON HORSEBACK FOR A TWILIGHT MARIACHI SERENADE! it barely looks like him! She cracks up and loves it. He even gets the horse to turn prancing little circles!
Alejo teaches his son to be a jerk to the servant lady! If you don't like the food, send it back!
Nepo has a nice moment with his son. He apologizes and says he just wants to support and protect him. Meh, ok!
Alejo is reminded that he only has a few more days to comply with the will. Diego calls him the best dad in the world! He is rewarded with some fatherly advice. Guendy comes for a big family hug, it's all sweet, and even the fruit-stand flunky squeezes into the hug!
Mike visits Vilma in jail. He makes a good point - who are you protecting, Vilma? Alejo left you to rot! Tell me where that booklet is. She gives him a super lame hint - It's where no one would ever suspect!
Once they're alone together, Alejo wastes no time reminding Lupita of their nights of passion and gets a little handsy! He grabs her and gets super gross. She literally kicks him to the curb. She grabs him by the hair and beats him up. EmiliAhole walks in, sees it, and gives her a high five! Hah! He's excellently injured, and she celebrates when Alejo limps around the corner.
Minerva's mom signs over her shares to... Saul? She insists that the money is hers and hers alone!
Despite the beating he suffered, he manages to drag Lupita and the kid to a dinner with the board of executives dudes to show them off! The board is impressed, but reminds them that all three need to be present for the official meeting (about the clause).
Frida goes on a date with Tizoc. He tells her he loves her a ton and they dance. Whelp, guess he's been rehabilitated.
Mike tells Lupita what he learned about the location of the booklet. Surprisingly, she finds the thing under Ahole's bed! The cliffhanger, duh, is that he walks in and finds her in his bedroom acting suspiciously!

Que pobres tan ricos Tuesday August 19: Alejo takes Lupita to court
Our internet is out, I wrote this on my lap top and sent it to my phone by Bluetooth
I liked.. seeing Tizoc telling Ana Sofia again: "We'll love our baby a ton. My dad raised three kids much happier than yours who grew up in a palace of money."
Because Alejo needs to prove he didn't force Lupita to marry him, he has his stooge lawyers draw up an accusation against her: that she has abandoned the conjugal home.

Qué Pobres, Lunes 8/18/14 (#160): «Permesso»
Not a whole lot of laughs this evening, but the best moment for me was when Tizoc said "Permesso" to AS.
Reruns:
Saul hitting on Rita; Trofeo spiking AS's coffee; Leo and Diego (who, I notice, is now leaving his shirt unbuttoned like Leo does); Ahole lies to Emiliano about making peace with Mati.
Isela insinuates to Mini that she's got something on Ahole.
New stuff:
Ahole tells Lupe that she can have her divorce, and sole custody of Emi, just as soon as he's reinstated as president of the Editorial. Lupe points out that this was their original deal and he reneged, so why should she believe him this time? He gets angry, recalling that Mati spoiled it the last time by showing up safe and sound. Then he recovers and remembers that he's supposed to be sad that Mati is dead.
Frida chats with Emi. She tells him that Mati is in heaven with her husband and her sons and Emi's grandmother Marce too. Emi tells Frida she'll be a great mom someday!
Isela and Minerva attend the wake. Mini is wearing a super-sexy dress; MA has to peel her off of him. Isela taunts AS about their rivalry to become president of the foundation. Three sheets to the wind and counting, AS calls Isela a rude bleeped name several times. (The Spanish captions don't say what it is; the English captions say "hag.")
Nepo arrives with a band to serenade Mati personally. (Is that really him singing? They should have had him sing much earlier.) Irked by Ahole's histrionics, Leo pulls him off of Mati's coffin so that he can sob on it himself. Ahole protests the "vulgar" music, not realizing (until MA informs him) that Mati loved this kind of music. Frida adds that this is what Mati would have wanted for her farewell party. Ahole dramatically pulls Leo off the coffin to resume his own loud outburst.
Saul corners Rita. He flirts with her; she tries to keep up with trite conversation. Gwendy watches, stunned, as Saul trots out all of his best moves at his best friend's grandmother's funeral.
In front of the former members of the board-of-zombies, MA tells Ahole, "not long ago, Mati said that Aureliano wanted to surprise us a few more times with new lessons to learn." Ahole replies, "how dare you mention the clause at our grandmother's funeral!" "Excuse me, but I didn't mention the clause. YOU mentioned the clause!"
MA thanks the zombies for attending and says the burial tomorrow is family-only. Ahole puts on a show for don Tulio et al. He tells MA he won't be at the burial. He can't take it. MA says that's no problem, because Mati wanted Ahole to take care of the divorce tomorrow anyway, so why not respect her last wish and stay away from the Menchacas forever?

Que Pobres tan Ricos... #159... Mati's farewell... A-hole believes he is at the finish line... but Mati still had some aces up her sleeve...
Isela swears to Mini that even if she spent money out loud, they would never stop being rich…
Mati and AS have a bit of emotional convo. Roberto was a gentleman… but a mother knows what she has and her son was useless and never valued what he had. AS admits he had it all… Mati admits that was their mistake, to give them everything without asking anything in return. Mati recognizes Rob was not faithful either. Mati tells AS that part of her bitterness is due to that. Even if you deny it. Mati asks AS to not waste what she has left of her life… even though you have your status back, I know you are not happy. AS argues she is. Mati says when my grandchildren move on, you will be alone. So use the opportunity and enjoy your children while you have them. Please hear the words of this old woman… not for anything but because I have more experience. Mati leaves AS in tears.
Lupe and Emi… she is ranting at him, he swears she won’t let him see his dad. You don’t love him, but I will keep seeing him, even if you get mad at me.
Mati goes to see Frida (this already sounds like goodbye speeches/final lessons of life) Frida tells Mati that she is ready to go on trip to see all of Mexico.. Mati tells her she has to stay and deal with a couple things and then will catch up with her in a few days. She has to leave another issue resolved. She wants to go on that one trip she has left feeling totally at peace. (oh my…)
Frida and Mati tell AS they are heading to Switzerland… AS has a fit with the idea. Mati tells her it is a pleasure trip they have been looking forward to… Leo and MA are also at table. MA is curious, why the idea of the trip. Mati says she has traveled with MA to London and with Leo to Broadway… AS rants that Mati has never considered her opinion… MA can only wish them to enjoy themselves. Mati says no circumstances can separate people. With Love, you can face anything.
At Menchacas, Chuy catches up with Lupe. He did not want to say anything in front of Emi, but he did not like the fact that Emi left school with A-hole without her permission.
At clinic again, Mati is back in, nagging that she does not want more tests… MA asks her to let them pamper and take care of her. Mati says ‘only because you ask, but I feel grrrrrreat!!’.
Carm talks to Lupe… when your dad finds out A-hole and you are married… Lupe is still hopeful her divorce will be done today and she won’t need to tell her family.
Frida and the nerd friend at school. She tells him she is going on trip. He knew she would not fulfill her promises… he should have known better…
Doctor and Mati… she has to rest a bit before leaving… Doctor leaves her alone.. (YIKES!!!) we see nurse legs … but hands are a bit too big for a nurse woman… nurse puts a pill on her hand… gives her a glass of water.
Nurse leaves the room… and we find out it is A-hole.
Something happened or the pill is slow to take effect. MA joins Mati… she is a bit tired. He rolls her chair out of the place running LOL!
At RP house, Leo is watching Frida pack. He seems to want to go along. She says he has the commitment to help MA out. He says not same option A trip to Europe vs Option B staying and working.
Mati and MA share a cute moment looking at a spectacular view of the mountains and fountains… MA glad she is better. He sees her happier every day. She says she is at peace, Life has allowed her to recover not only her sanity but the time to enjoy her loved ones. MA says he was pained to be away from loved ones for so long. She says what matters is that you came back fully grown and mature.. .now you can care for your family. MA says almost everyone accepts him as before… only Emi he is still working on. Mati says we are all one great family (the Menchacas and RPs). That is the biggest valuable we take from life, the love of our loved ones.
Leo and Frida are still packing. She brings up the subject of his relationship. Leo says he spoke to Mati and she was taking it ok. Frida says we have a great grandma. Leo can’t close the suitcase. He nags about it and leaves. Frida finds an envelope that says ‘Fridita, don’t open this letter until you get to your destiny’… (yikes!!)
Mati and MA… she now talks as if she is saying goodbye… she then talks about Aureliano and her always wanted to have a daughter. Mati says ‘the more love you are capable of giving, life will be as beautiful as you want to dream it to be’. (Mati dies right there on her wheelchair, MA doesn’t even notice… he is saying it is a great feeling of peace…) (we hear a song)…MA gets desperate and yells for help. (editor’s note… we will miss you at the patio, dear Mati…)
Frida has the envelope in her hands when she gets the call from MA… she is shocked, puts hand over mouth.
At hospital, Leo and Frida arrive to hug MA… AS is sitting… no need to get upset. We have to wait for news. Doctor comes out. Mati has passed. MA is shocked… Frida hugs him, AS breathes a big sigh.
At fonda, Gwendy and Carm talk to Lupe to coordinate the menus for the wedding.
MA talks to doctor, does not understand what happened. Doctor is also puzzled, she had a heart attack, and even though she did not have any other signs, she did not respond. So sorry…
MA asks Leo, Frida and AS to be strong. AS will make the arrangements for the service at the cathedral… MA will take care of that. He tells them that Mati asked to be watched at the Fonda. AS protests, but MA says it was her last will and it is not up for discussion. AS says ok but then there is no use our friends to find out about the watch since the would not go. MA says Mati’s true friends will be there.
Rita asks Gwendy if she will get a bachelorette party… Gwendy is confused because Rita asks this when she is Nepo’s ex. Rita says she is indifferent to Nepo now. She is glad that DA would have an ‘ally’.
At A-hole’s… A-hole is anxiously waiting for a call to get news of her passing. MA calls him. A-hole fakes not knowing, asking MA if his call is about the divorce. MA is very sad and says have very bad news, want you to find out from me. Mati has just died. A-hole is shouting a skid about being upset when he is smiling from ear to ear… They hang up .’’how sad… I did it!... I got rid of that mummy!... finally she is in heaven’’
DA tells Nepo he will eat at the Menchacas to talk to Rita a while. Nepo is not quite ok with it… thought DA was going to study at Nuevo Leon… DA says he wants to take the opportunity to go to the United.
At fonda kitchen, Lupe is happy telling Carm that Gwendy is so happy with her wedding. Lupe says she will shower a bit before MA gets there. Carm asks if Tomas will go with them. Lupe says yes, but she can’t wait another day… MA arrives very somber… Lupe can tell something is very wrong. MA tells Lupe and Carm that Mati died. Lupe is teary eyed, hugs him hard.
Nepo asks DA.. tell me the truth..the real truth… are you happy?... not that much. Nepo still is reluctant to talk about ‘that’. DA says ‘that’ has a name. Emi can tell she is crying… Lupe tells Emi that ‘your grandma got ill… she had something in her heart… and she won’t be with us anymore… she died, mijo’… Emi gets upset quick. Lupe says all we can do is remember all the nice moments we lived together, about everything she taught us when she was here… and to pray for her.’ Emi is ok with it.
The watch is on. The place is full, all men are in black suits, they are praying the rosary led by Carmelita.
There is a huge portrait of Mati on one wall… there is not a dry eye in the whole place. Chuy talks about the deep pain in his heart. La Donita left us. His wrestling friend tries to cheer him up a bit. Chuy says she was just enjoying time with us, she was laughing… The son of perro A is also there to comfort him. Chuy says Mati left the papers of the house with him. Now he can breathe easy that no one will get them out of there. He will always thank Mati for not leaving them alone. AS is protesting that they are watching her at the ‘colonia’… AS is nagging about the ‘customs’ of the salt cross and onion they put under the coffin… Even Leo says those customs don’t offend anyone… AS keeps nagging. MA leaves her, he’s had enough.
DA comes and Leo hugs him. A-hole makes his appearance. ‘my grandma Mati… granny… why did you leave us, granny?... you were always my model… you left me all alone in this world… why, God??... why granny?... My God! Why did you not take me instead of her?? She deserved to live more!! She did not deserve it!!’ Emi approaches him and A-hole continues the skid ‘she left us, my son, she left us for good’
Nepo arrives to the wake… Trofeo behind him… Nepo remembers when he helped Mike to pay for Mati’s tests… he never thought she was so ill… and she was so pretty, truly… he has brought some booze to help deal with the sorrow… he rants at Trofeo to not take it all… Gwendy comes to them… Nepo does not know it is her… Gwendy tells Nepo ‘we have to love and pamper each other all the time, we never know when it will be too late…’
A-hole keeps feeding crap in Emi’s brain… tells Emi that last time Mati talked to him at the office, she was no longer mad at him. A-hole says he wants them to be a family and live together. Lupe joins them, she is not happy that Emi is alone with A-hole. (too late, Lupe…damage done already)
Trofeo offers AS some of his cup… She is not happy about it until she tastes the ‘coffee’ then her eyes pop out…
Mini and Isela at their house… they can’t believe Mati is being watched at the Fonda. At least after this, A-hole can fulfill the clause from the grandpa. Isela says she has lots of money now, besides, she has another ace card under her sleeve. Mini asks her to spill the beans, Isela won’t.
Leo tells DA that just when grandma and him were getting close and he had discovered that she was very understanding and knew him more than he thought, she is gone … DA tells Leo that Rita is inviting him to go with her to the Uniteds.
A-hole keeps his skid with Lupe… losing Mati is like losing his mom all over again. Now more than ever he wants Emi to go live with him. Frida comes to them… Lupe sends Emi with Frida. Mati and AS have a bit of emotional convo. Roberto was a gentleman… but a mother knows what she has and her son was useless and never valued what he had. AS admits he had it all… Mati admits that was their mistake, to give them everything without asking anything in return. Mati recognizes Rob was not faithful either. Mati tells AS that part of her bitterness is due to that. Even if you deny it. Mati asks AS to not waste what she has left of her life… even though you have your status back, I know you are not happy. AS argues she is. Mati says when my grandchildren move on, you will be alone. So use the opportunity and enjoy your children while you have them. Please hear the words of this old woman… not for anything but because I have more experience. Mati leaves AS in tears.
Lupe and Emi… she is ranting at him, he swears she won’t let him see his dad. You don’t love him, but I will keep seeing him, even if you get mad at me.
Mati goes to see Frida (this already sounds like goodbye speeches/final lessons of life) Frida tells Mati that she is ready to go on trip to see all of Mexico.. Mati tells her she has to stay and deal with a couple things and then will catch up with her in a few days. She has to leave another issue resolved. She wants to go on that one trip she has left feeling totally at peace. (oh my…)
Frida and Mati tell AS they are heading to Switzerland… AS has a fit with the idea. Mati tells her it is a pleasure trip they have been looking forward to… Leo and MA are also at table. MA is curious, why the idea of the trip. Mati says she has traveled with MA to London and with Leo to Broadway… AS rants that Mati has never considered her opinion… MA can only wish them to enjoy themselves. Mati says no circumstances can separate people. With Love, you can face anything.
At Menchacas, Chuy catches up with Lupe. He did not want to say anything in front of Emi, but he did not like the fact that Emi left school with A-hole without her permission.
At clinic again, Mati is back in, nagging that she does not want more tests… MA asks her to let them pamper and take care of her. Mati says ‘only because you ask, but I feel grrrrrreat!!’.
Carm talks to Lupe… when your dad finds out A-hole and you are married… Lupe is still hopeful her divorce will be done today and she won’t need to tell her family.
Frida and the nerd friend at school. She tells him she is going on trip. He knew she would not fulfill her promises… he should have known better…
Doctor and Mati… she has to rest a bit before leaving… Doctor leaves her alone.. (YIKES!!!) we see nurse legs … but hands are a bit too big for a nurse woman… nurse puts a pill on her hand… gives her a glass of water.
Nurse leaves the room… and we find out it is A-hole.
Something happened or the pill is slow to take effect. MA joins Mati… she is a bit tired. He rolls her chair out of the place running LOL!
At RP house, Leo is watching Frida pack. He seems to want to go along. She says he has the commitment to help MA out. He says not same option A trip to Europe vs Option B staying and working.
Mati and MA share a cute moment looking at a spectacular view of the mountains and fountains… MA glad she is better. He sees her happier every day. She says she is at peace, Life has allowed her to recover not only her sanity but the time to enjoy her loved ones. MA says he was pained to be away from loved ones for so long. She says what matters is that you came back fully grown and mature.. .now you can care for your family. MA says almost everyone accepts him as before… only Emi he is still working on. Mati says we are all one great family (the Menchacas and RPs). That is the biggest valuable we take from life, the love of our loved ones.
Leo and Frida are still packing. She brings up the subject of his relationship. Leo says he spoke to Mati and she was taking it ok. Frida says we have a great grandma. Leo can’t close the suitcase. He nags about it and leaves. Frida finds an envelope that says ‘Fridita, don’t open this letter until you get to your destiny’… (yikes!!)
Mati and MA… she now talks as if she is saying goodbye… she then talks about Aureliano and her always wanted to have a daughter. Mati says ‘the more love you are capable of giving, life will be as beautiful as you want to dream it to be’. (Mati dies right there on her wheelchair, MA doesn’t even notice… he is saying it is a great feeling of peace…) (we hear a song)…MA gets desperate and yells for help. (editor’s note… we will miss you at the patio, dear Mati…)
Frida has the envelope in her hands when she gets the call from MA… she is shocked, puts hand over mouth.
At hospital, Leo and Frida arrive to hug MA… AS is sitting… no need to get upset. We have to wait for news. Doctor comes out. Mati has passed. MA is shocked… Frida hugs him, AS breathes a big sigh.
At fonda, Gwendy and Carm talk to Lupe to coordinate the menus for the wedding.
MA talks to doctor, does not understand what happened. Doctor is also puzzled, she had a heart attack, and even though she did not have any other signs, she did not respond. So sorry…
MA asks Leo, Frida and AS to be strong. AS will make the arrangements for the service at the cathedral… MA will take care of that. He tells them that Mati asked to be watched at the Fonda. AS protests, but MA says it was her last will and it is not up for discussion. AS says ok but then there is no use our friends to find out about the watch since the would not go. MA says Mati’s true friends will be there.
Rita asks Gwendy if she will get a bachelorette party… Gwendy is confused because Rita asks this when she is Nepo’s ex. Rita says she is indifferent to Nepo now. She is glad that DA would have an ‘ally’.
At A-hole’s… A-hole is anxiously waiting for a call to get news of her passing. MA calls him. A-hole fakes not knowing, asking MA if his call is about the divorce. MA is very sad and says have very bad news, want you to find out from me. Mati has just died. A-hole is shouting a skid about being upset when he is smiling from ear to ear… They hang up .’’how sad… I did it!... I got rid of that mummy!... finally she is in heaven’’
DA tells Nepo he will eat at the Menchacas to talk to Rita a while. Nepo is not quite ok with it… thought DA was going to study at Nuevo Leon… DA says he wants to take the opportunity to go to the United.
At fonda kitchen, Lupe is happy telling Carm that Gwendy is so happy with her wedding. Lupe says she will shower a bit before MA gets there. Carm asks if Tomas will go with them. Lupe says yes, but she can’t wait another day… MA arrives very somber… Lupe can tell something is very wrong. MA tells Lupe and Carm that Mati died. Lupe is teary eyed, hugs him hard.

Que Pobres Tan Ricos # 157 and 158: 8/14/14: Frida takes a Day Trip
Hola Amiguis! Due to a snafu it seems there was no recap for Wednesday, so I am combing capitulos 157 and 158. The Wednesday recap will be very short. Shall we begin?
Capitulo 157
The micro bus has been renamed Lupita and the Menchaca plus Rita, and Emi, Rita is driving get on the bus. Tizoc sings the micro bus song and some guy cuts Rita off. (Ed Note: The actor Rita hit is Brazilian I beleive last seen in Estcrito en las Estrellas) Anyways, Rita isn't happy and gets out of the bus when this guy insults her. She is so mad she head butts him and knocks him out. Chuy convinces Rita to move the bus and get out of there. They finally arrive at Xochimilco to the Our Lady of Sorrows Shrine. While the Menchaca are debarking here come the RP's that would be Dona Mati, AS, Leo and Frida, driven by chofer. MA takes his own car. The Menchaca are happy they could make it. AS has done a deal with two photographers and some actors. The actors are playing poor people that AS is giving alms to. She plays it up for these photographers and the "poor people" play right along. She gives them food and money I think. The photographers take pictures of AS and the "poor people" for El Editorial Magazine to show her largesse toward the needy. Frida and Leo roll their eyes.

Que Pobres Tan Ricos #156: our loving couple is reunited and a pilgrimage is planned
Lupe brings her rose to Mati, who's glad to see her all better already. Mati asks how the divorce is going, answer: nothing. They find out from Carmelita that it was Alejo behind the terrible contract Tizoc signed, which MA bought him out of.
Diego visits Rita, he says he's glad he saw Leo but they are of different worlds and he's still planning to leave town. Rita suggests they could go off together and start over someplace else.

Qué Pobres, Lunes 8/11/14 (#155): I'm an Executive! WHEEEEE!!
Can any other recapper claim to have done TWO weddings where the groom dies before he can consummate his marriage? Yeah, because I've done that. Here's the other one.

Hola Amiguis! Let me explain how I recap. I do it by what I call free range ear and the way the actors move and speak. I use no captions and when they throw the slang in there and talk in rapid fire sequence or all talk at once, I have to think about the episode. I have a little earworm for Y'all to listen to Live To Tell! This is for you Vilma!
Shall we begin? We are in the juice office with Trofeo, Dona Mati and MA with the new Innocence Juice that is organic. MA has a great idea about marketing this juice and Dona Mati is sure that he will make this juice bidnez a success just as MA did with his bidnez in London.

Que Pobres tan Ricos August 6: in which Perla plays a tree.
Ezra is in Canada so I'm subbing tonight, and skipping the retreads. There appeared to be missing chunks, did we lose an episode?
- I don't think "Cherubs Hospital" is a good name for a place where abortions are performed. Frida is shown into a room and while waiting for the doctor and looking at all the sharp scary instruments on the stainless steel table she loses her nerve and leaves.
- Emi invites Alejo to eat at the fonda. Chuy is furious to see him and, seemingly talking about mosquitos, says "We can't let these bloodsuckers in."

Que pobres tan ricos Tuesday 8/5 (#150) - we find out Rita's secret.
I'm tired from loading and unloading a truckload of hay for my donkeys today, and the subtitles were a mess, so this is going to be minimal. Please add what you will.
Alejo sort of promises Mati he'll get his lawyer right on that divorce thing, but that he wants to be with his son. Mati says she will allow him to try to convince Lupe (this seemed very bogus to me).
As somebody guessed, when Minerva does the big reveal of the next magazine cover, the model is her own mother! The grandsons share a united moment of flabbergasted astonishment. All say it's a risky idea but she's confident it will be a big hit. Mati likes it so MA gets on board.

Reruns from Friday: Tizoc and Frida "agree" that they aren't in love because they don't think of one another all day long, and Frida doesn't tell him about the pregnancy. Ana Sofia's swell friends bid bitchy goodbyes and say they'll be in touch. Ana Sofia complains to MA that Mati's dinner with the Menchacas interfered with her own plans to worm her way back into the good graces of the buena gente.
MA has already heard Mati's side of the story. Mati didn't know AS was planning a party that same evening, and it's Mati's home too. She has every right to invite people over. As for friendship, well, the Menchacas certainly are their friends; they helped them out when the swell friends didn't. As usual, his words go in AS's one ear and out the other; she hopes never to see the Menchacas again.
In La Nopalera, the Menchacas assess the damage to the fonda. The kitchen and dining area are thoroughly trashed; even the walls have been vandalized. But the rooms upstairs appear to be untouched, and nothing seems to be missing. Lupe mentions that she learned her lesson when the 300,000 pesos were stolen, and now all their cash is safe in a bank account.
But Rita's not home.
And Ahole is on the phone with an unidentified person who has confirmed that the job is done.

Qué Pobres, Friday 8/1/14 (#148): Ana Sofia's No-Class Reunion
Emi tells Ahole that if Mom doesn't let him visit Daddy, he'll defy her. Ahole tells him to just sit tight for now and don't let on that they're having these secret conversations. Emi can enjoy his time with Mati, but "don't forget she's on Miguel Angel's side! Be careful!"
The papers are signed. Don Chuy is finally the official owner of the house that's already been rightfully his for a long time. There is much rejoicing. Mati invites them all to dinner at the RP house. Chuy doesn't really want to go, but Mati indicates that she'll be offended if he doesn't. MA says he'll even stay away so that it won't be too uncomfortable for everyone!

Shall we begin? Frida and her Granny Mati are having a chat about choices it seems. Frida is panicked about this pregnancy and doesn't know what to do. Frida is scared. It's okay but Granny has her back, she'll support Frida in anything she decides, now what about Tizoc. Frida says no one knows, especially Tizoc. Granny wants Frida to tell him, it's only right. Frida feels Tizoc is not ready for a girlfriend much less a bebe.
AS is tasting salsas and is unhappy with what she is tasting, oh, how she misses Carmelita's salsas, wow, who knew! Leo comes in and wants to go on a vacay to New York and she'd like to come with, but Leo wants to go alone.

Que Pobres Tan Ricos 146, wednesday
Alejo is menacingly telling Lupe there is no option for divorce/annulment. Meanwhile, EmiliAhole trots up with some bit of electronics or something, "just a little gift from Dad." I think it's a Wii U, and Alejo acts like he forgot to buy games for it. Guess they're going shopping! Since they are married, he doesn't have to ask permission!
Oh, some good news! Mike is w/ Doña Matti at the hospital and the doctor (and his colleagues, he is quick to point out) has done some tests and found her to be quite healthy. But he wants to do more tests, of course. Aww, she talks about how grateful she is of the help Chuy and Carmen gave her. Kindness is the greatest gift, etc...
Matti remains extremely calm, but is insistent that she will forgive Ahole. Mike protests a bit. She has an interesting stance - he'll always be my grandson and he needs to know that. She's grateful to him for sticking w/ Aureliano through everything. All she wants is to end the resentments. While explaining, she also mentions what may be the strategy with Ahole - keep your enemies close! Also, she doesn't know what kind of atrocities Ahole might sink to if even his grannie denounces him.
I don't know what the foundation is, but AS is at a pool giving a ton of money to some women (and also being mean and vain about the money that "God gave her." They still mock her for her disasters. When she leaves they all talk about her - she has returned to society more insufferable than ever! Now she's a terrible combination of Mother Teresa and Lady Di[iana?]. The ringleader has a wicked alternative plan for the thousands of dollars they just got from AS.
Oh yay, Tizoc's still in trouble! But unfortunately, it's not for being a turdbag. The agent just wants him to talk like a fresa.
At the mall, the twerp picks video games while Lupe attempts to have it out with Ahole. The vile child realizes they're fighting and runs up to talk about how great his dad is. Ahole: well, we can't fight in front of the kid. It's his new weapon - let's spend happy family time! Barf.
You have to learn that being a fresa is a way of life, of being a condescending dick. Fortunately it comes naturally to Tizoc.
Wendy is still talking about that mysterious woman from yesterday. She still wants to hire her. And GASP! The banana king is still married to the mother of his son!
Aaaaand AS is now transferring a ton of money to her personal account on the apparent cart-blanche authorization of her son Mike. Oops, how'd he fall for that one? Oh, she forged it. She has a moment with her dog.
Mati is surprised to see Frida still eating with the Menchaca. She notices that the girl is even paler than usual. Grandmotherly advice-dispencing mode, ACTIVATE! Oh dear lord could they go more overboard on the pregnancy cliches? She's putting all sorts of weird toppings on her food.
Haha look at Don Chuy playing the video game after EmiliAhole gets sent to bed! At bedtime though, the turd-twerp wants to live with his Dad. She says no and he pouts.
Doña Mati puts a plan into action - she takes the chofer to go buy some street tacos, all greasy and meaty and intense, and shoves them under Frida's nose. Predictably, the girl runs and vomits, and Matti gives the camera a knowing look, like this was some devious abuela-trick to get verification of pregnancy.
Tomorrow, at the office, Matti is planning to bring her grandsons together in her office. Also she reveals to Mike that he was always Aureliano's favorite, but the man never showed it because of some grand plan to toughen him up and prepare him for leadership or some nonsense. She says that everything the old man did to make Mike angry was completely planned and calculated! Flashback time! Grandpa wanted to make sure Mike was comfortable and strong and capable of holding his head high and succeeding on his own, not relying on a rich dad. Now it's time for the meeting... Abuelita power!
She makes the boys sit side by side. Closer, closer. Once Alejo is sufficiently uncomfortable, she announces that she is planning to resign as president. Aaaaand giving the presidency to Mike! Bomb drop! Oh cute, she makes Ahole vice-president! That'll be fun!
The new girl comes back to Guendy's. Her name is Rita, and Guendy got so excited about her that she left a customer sitting in a chair.
The boys start fighting and superabuelita shuts 'em up! I love her being tough like this!
Thus far, it seems like Leo has been oblivious to how awful his rich friends are, but it finally gets to him. I like that.
What's the one thing she wants Alejo to do. It's very mysterious and important, and she gives him a week.
Aww, poor Frida is worried and pregnant and she looks on TV and sees Tizoc being a dick in an interview and not acknowledging her!
Ha! Ahole has no one to take his worries to but Mini and Minimom. He basically is just taking out his rage on them but they get him back! He gets a call from Wilma, who's so mad that he's left her to rot. At first he's mean, but she says something (that I miss) that gets him to race down to jail to see her. Ok, they're now accusing her of killing Girón. She says he needs to confess to the murder or else.

Que pobres tan ricos Tuesday: as anvils fall, the tarantulas gloat
I was delighted that Dona Mati's entrance was at the very end of last night's episode - I've had all day to look forward to her bringing the anvils. I had no subtitles so if you find this vague, fill it in!
Refritos: the fresas hate Tizoc's microbus song. and his manager threatens to kill him. I agree with them that he is an imbecil. Listening at home, Chuy reminds Carm that success is easy come easy go and he doesn't think Tizoc is managing very well.
So! At the editorial, Mati is welcomed into the room and embraced by los Ruizpalacios. "Quiet everybody. I am completely recovered and the doctor is here to confirm it. So we are not naming a new president just now." Mike sort of sticks out his tongue at Alejo, "so there."

Que Pobres tan Ricos #144 28 July 2014 Tizoc wakes up and confronts managers from hell, A-hole is drooling over his victory, but his victory is short lived
Emi argues with Lupe about how he has changed. Emi goes to his room in a huff.
Lupe calls A-hole. He tells her she has to show up to the office with him to finish baking the donuts (signing the papers). Lupe agrees, but reluctantly, she was not counting on having to show her face.
The nurse is brought to the police bldg… Top Cop asks her where is Mati. Nurse looks down.
At Tomas’ Dr Miranda gives Mati the green light, he can certify she is fully recouped… Mati so glad. She needed his opinion… He suggests she rest another few days. And if you can spend that time with family, even better. Mati says she is already with family. Regarding the RP she will meet up with them later.
At club, AS is turning it on Beba, she wants them to bet some of their jewelry… The ladies take their quick exit, don’t want to play strip poker… AS throws kisses to the wind as the ladies take off… She also fans her newly won cash (was this donation from Beba and Chabela to AS' charities?)…
Chuy and Mati celebrate that she is ready for coming back to the wrestling ring… Mati says even though she feels guilty of keeping her grandkids, especially MA, in the dark about where she is, she wants to wait a few days more. Mati wants to make sure she is really really REALLY 100% ready to face the music.
Top Cop tells MA and Saul that the nurse testified that she blames the staff at the geriatric clinic. She is trying to wash her hands… The nurse says that since Mati was in the other geriatric, she also escaped a few times… so Top Cop has to let her go.
Chuy tells Mati that when MA took her out of the geriatric clinic and took her to the fonda, she did not look as wide awake and healthy as she is now. Chuy felt bad when she would call for Aureliano since he could not come to help her. Mati says that with Chuy’s family around, she felt like she had Aureliano’s presence by her. Chuy says that is how he lost his Marcelita. Mati says that life has taught her that sooner or later our loved ones that have gone still are with us thanks to the great memories they left us. We have to let them go and live the best we can in their honor. (Boy Mati looks grrrrrrrrrreat!!)
Vilma calls A-hole. He is trying to avoid coming to see her… Again she insists she needs to see him in person. HE promises he will come tomorrow, too busy today. When he hangs up he says ‘and you better wait another 30 years for me’.
At Fonda, the Menchacas are eating… Lupe sends Emi to bed. Perla tells them Tizoc will have another show tomorrow night. Tizoc does not look anywhere as excited about the new gig. Perla says we don’t want to see you, we want to see the other artists that will be there. She is excited about her newly found fame (as makeup artist??) Carm can barely contain her excitement… Chuy looks at her weird, thinking it is about Mati. She is super happy about Wendy’s upcoming wedding. Everyone talks about weddings, Perla mentions couples that were expected to end up married and in the end… NOT, like MA and Lupe.. She ends up making Lupe cry…
MA tells AS and Frida that he still can’t find Mati. AS is making a comment that Mati is in heaven surrounded by angels. Maybe the nurse that they found could tell us the truth. Maybe we could buy her to tell us. AS thinks they can ‘buy’ anyone to do anything now that we have money again… The rest of the family protest in unison.
