Weekend Discussion: Mentir Para Vivir Karmageddon Awaits!

Not all of these are left, but the bad guys we have certainly have it coming. While lying is normally included on the list of crimes against Divine Law, it will not be mentioned here because everyone is guilty of that.

Muchas gracias to Adriana Noel and 5Ft Latina for filling in what I didn't catch.  Now, what do you think should happen to these evil-doers and what do you think the writers will do?

José Luis Falcón / Francisco Castro / Whatever; I still don't think we know his real name yet

Guilty of multiple counts of murder, attempted murder (including Tito), domestic violence, attempted rape, assault, unlawful detainment, gold smuggling, money laundering, forgery, embezzlement, bribery, and attempted bribery.

Those are just the crimes he can go to prison for. He's also guilty of adultery and emotional abuse which is still punishable by Divine Law despite his marriage being dead.

My opinion: Since he's been spiraling into madness for most of the length of this series, I think he should end up sufficiently mad to commit suicide.  However, I think the writers will probably have him do prison time.  As in Life Without Parole.

Mathilde Aresti de Camargo

Guilty of tricking her husband into marrying her by entrapment through pregnancy, emotional abuse of husband, children, and invalid aunt, attempting to control her children's lives up to and past the age of majority, greed, false witness, mail theft, slander, possible embezzlement of household funds, and faking a suicide attempt, and general hypocrisy.

My opinion: Since she's been so greedy the least that should happen to her is that she ends up broke. However, I think she also should lose her children and end up in prison over the next business fraud despite having been tricked into it.

Sebastian Sanchez Bréton

Guilty of statutory rape, business sabotage, general wastefulness, lack of empathy with the suffering of others.

My opinion:  Getting HIV and what that will mean for the rest of his life is probably punishment enough.

Raquel Ledesma

Guilty of greed, wishing death on a rival, ratting out said rival with intent to cause harm, pregnancy entrapment, and criminal stupidity.

Antonio Araujo

Guilty of statutory rape; refusal to take a paternity test; corporate espionage; using Paloma’s age to suggest mental infirmity for personal gain; taking point on the legal side of partnering with Trejo-Bonfil with intent to use it to launder money; masterminding Ricardo’s kidnapping; taking point on starting Paradise Real Estate with the intention of using it as a money laundering front; fraudulent representation to Matilde and Lila about PRE with intent to defraud them; accessory to murder (getaway driver for the shooting of Homero and his driver. )

Berto Martín

Guilty of questionable personal hygiene; attempting to blackmail Inés; telling Francisco he slept with Inés; telling Francisco he saw Inés shoot Gabriel; telling Francisco Gabriel tried to rape Lina.

Status:  Dead

Eliseo (no picture yet)

Guilty of claiming a hurt shoulder to make Felipe carry Francisco’s luggage; beating Felipe over the head; killing Berto, attempted murder(Ricardo).

Marilu Tapia

Guilty of sexual blackmail; slander against Tito; indirect mistreatment of Lina, violating terms of marital contract with Ricardo, perjury, attempt to dispossess Fidelia of her home.

Joaquin Barragán

Guilty of masterminding a criminal enterprise, contracting for murder and other crimes, multiple adulteries

Status:  Dead

Samuel Barragán

Guilty of masterminding a criminal enterprise, contracting for murder and other crimes, attempted rape.

Omero de la Garza

Guilty of endangering Oriana and Alina, causing the domino effect of Paloma's heart condition, fraudulent representation of Oriana's requirements for “witness protection”, attempt at controlling adult grandson's life (lesser degree than Mathilde Aresti).  While there was no true evil intent in his actions, there is a general lack of empathy.

Benigno Jiménez

Guilty of fraudulently passing off Sebastian as Ric’s son; accessory after the fact to statutory rape, blackmail regarding said rape, mistreatment, neglect, and verbal abuse of Maria; slander against Ricardo, attempted murder of Sebastian.

Status:  Imprisoned

The school psychologist (no picture)

Guilty of general incompetence and emotional abuse of a child (by justifying violence against Tito.)

My opinion:  She should lose her license and end up working as a janitress in an orphanage.

Haha! Love that you added Homero. That was a surprise. He has caused a lot of trouble, but at least he prodded the other characters to do something.

Eliseo also tried to kill Ricky. And Benigno tried to kill Sebas, which is why he's in jail. And part of Sebas's karma was to inherit the epilepsy of the mother he treated so cruelly.

I do think that Mati will lose all her money. Not sure if she'll end up in jail too. But her kids and ex husband are so nice that they'd likely try to help her once she was broke.

It's hard for me to believe that Sam is going to let JL live at the end of this. But I don't want to see him die either. I do want to see him behind bars, finally taking ownership of what he did and understanding why Ori can never trust or love him again.

Funny, loved JL/FC's picture. Ck images of Diego Olivera, he is very, muy, mucho, guapo. He has a younger bro, Federico.

Anyone notice the handsome servant in Sra Joaquin's house, his name is Pedro. That is none other than Hugo from LQNPA, Uriel del Toro. Wish he could graduate to something other than servant.

Variopinta - I did notice Pedro/Hugo. Very small role. I hope other good ones await him.

I don't see how JL survives either. Homero has said just one too many times that they will never have peace until JL is gone. Marilu looks like a goner, too, with Paloma laughing about killing her last night and the bumper that shows Marilu with a gun.

Good topic, UA. Thank you!

My predictions:

JL- dead
Matilde and Lila- Shortish jail sentence and penniless
Sebastian- Remorseful and married to Fabiola
Antonio-jail
Raquel- Together with Cesar and baby after DNA test confirm he's the father
Marilu-Divorced and alone
Sam-Jail and crime wife of Joaquin in jail too or she dies before jail.
School Psychologist-nothing
Homero-I would love it if he and Paloma hook up, but I don't think that will happen.
Leo-still single
Ric and Oriana- that's obvious

Vario-Uriel del Toro has a role in La Impostora over on Telemundo. It seems to be a rather largish one. He's not a lead, but he's got his hands in quite a few plots right now.

Sadly I am ambivalent to the karmageddons in this one. It's entertaining and all, but it doesn't seem to evoke any kind of emotion in me. Well, Marilu did...but then Fide slapped her and she fell and was left on the floor. I liked that.

JL Falcón: he commits suicide or he will be in mental hospital where Maria was. But I would like to watch a life-and-death fight between Ricky and him like was in Sortilegio.

Matilde: she is who never changes, Jail or alone on a corner or on a dump.

Sebastian: I wish nothing bad. He should live together with his adoptive family, not alone but without Fabiola.

Raquel: It's interesting I don't know. She is a very difficult person. I wouldn't like to watch her die, now she is pregnant. I hope tha maternal instincts changes her.

Antonio: shot by the police

Berto and Eliseo: they have been already dead.

Marilu: mental hospital, or back to New York and she hunts for Ricky clones.

Joaquin: he is dead

Sammy the bull: jail or shot by police

Homero: he is retired and he should forbid interfering other crimes.

Benigno: imprisoned now

School psychologist: further training.

How did Joaquin go into a coma?

Thank you for the shout-out, Urban; I wish I could have added more, but everything is such a blur in my head when it comes to this tn.
It stared out in such a promising way, but it went soooo south.

My predictions
Ori and Ric - together (who cares)
Fabi and Leo - together
Seb - redeemed
Raquel - I hope the baby changes her; she has been so bland, more nasty, envious and malicious than anything else
Marilu - hm... it depends how far she goes in these last few episodes; so far, I think she is salvageble
Joaquin - I think he eventully dies
JL - dead; there is no other end I see for him, because behind all his craziness and evil deeds there is true love for at least his daughter; maybe they could give him a tragic spin at the very end
Madhilde - alone, in poverty, her kids keep in contact with her because they are decent people, but they never again actually listen to her nonsense

I think MADhilde's children will be done with her. What I can see is that although Ruben might give her money to live on he will be done with her, too.

Marilu will either die in an accident she might be the partial cause of or she will end up a hooker.

Antonio needs to end up in prison. Will Sebastian ever realize that he is the sperm donor?
