De Que Te Quiero, Te Quiero #4- Thurs 3/13

De que ganaste el puesto, ganaste el puesto!

Natalia and her boss are reviewing the Help Wanted section together, trying to find something better suited to Natalia's new degree.  They find a secretarial position that just happens to need someone good with computers.  She calls and gets an interview the very next day.  Her boss gets to work making her a lucky new job vibes amulet.  She's clearly the nicest boss ever.

Diego's carjacker kindly requests his wallet.  At gunpoint.  He takes out the cash, then tosses the wallet itself out the window, where it's caught by Abdul.  Of all the stinking luck!  Two cops see this happen and think that means Abdul is the carjacker's accomplice and they haul him off to jail.  At the station, the guy taking Abdul's statement says he's heard the "I was just standing there and someone threw a wallet out of a car" story before.  He at least lets him make a couple of calls and get in touch with Padre Juancho.

The carjacker finally lets Diego out of the car and drives off in it.  Diego gets a ride and makes it home to his *ahem* concerned *ahem* wife…who was busy talking to her amante (lover) via cell.  Diego explains to his grandpa about the carjacking, but grandpa hangs up on him before he can tell him to have Estela (the receptionist?) report the car theft to the insurance company.  The second he hits the shower, Diana texts someone that she'll call them later.

The light bulb finally goes on above Abdul's head and he tells the guy to call his good buddy Eleazar.  Who is unfortunately busy and told his underling not to bother him.  Underling takes a message, saying orders are orders.

Padre Juancho and Natalia show up and try to plead Abdul's case.  They convince the cop to call the wallet's owner so he can tell them that Abdul had nothing to do with it.  He was planning to go to the cops to report the theft anyway, so he heads over to retrieve his wallet and answer some questions, borrowing Diana's car.  When he's gone, she calls her boy toy.  She thinks things are getting too dangerous and they need to cool it for a while, so Diego doesn't suspect anything.  "Don't call me, I'll call you."  She moans to herself about how she just can't let him go, cause he gets her motor running like Diego doesn't.

Brigitte the Brat sees Carlos dropping her mom off and notices Carlos' nice wheels.  Carmen can't figure out how she ended up with such a materialistic brat for a daughter.  Carmen left her cell phone at the house, so she's just now realizing something's up from all the missed calls, but Padre Juancho doesn't answer.

Eleazar gets out of his meeting and chews his underling out for not telling him right away that one of the Garcias was on the phone.  The underling rightly says "Half of Mexico is named Garcia!"

Diego shows up at the police station and he and Natalia see each other again for about a second, before she rushes out of the cop's cubicle past him.  Nobody has a clue what that was about.  The cop FINALLY gets around to taking Abdul's declaration while Natalia and Diego play some live-action Frogger.  Padre Juancho asks Diego what's going on, but he can't answer before the cop calls him into his cubicle.  He calls Natalia, who says "it's him" and tells  him she's in the park in front of the station.  When he gets there, she tells Padre Juancho that Diego is the guy who tried to rape her.  Carmen gets hold of Natalia, who, rather than telling her about Abdul, tells her about Diego…and then about Abdul, but all out of order, so Padre Juancho takes over.  Padre Juancho sends Natalia home and says he and Carmen and the cops will take care of Abdul.

Abdul tells his story again.  Diego confirms that Abdul is not the guy who held him up, carjacked him, and stole his wallet.  Carmen shows up and Padre Juancho gives her an update on, well, everything.

Eleazar shows up to spring Abdul, who's already sprung.  Abdul now has to update his mom and Eleazar. He wants to wait for Diego, though, to thank him for his testimony.  Carmen says they need to get home and Abdul refuses Eleazar's offer of another ride in the back of a cop car.  They take a taxi instead.  Diego noticed Eleazar talking to the Garcias and asks if Eleazar can give him their address, so he can thank the kid personally for returning his wallet.

(Woo hoo!  The local station just showed an ad for the Clean Elections Commission during the commercial break!  http://www.azcleanelections.gov/ESP/mission-espanol.aspx   I'm the one in the chef's coat.)

Diego's back home again.  Diana puts on her high heels to go downstairs and tell the staff to serve up Diego's dinner.  What does she do all day?  Hang out in her bedroom wearing fuzzy slippers?  I mean, there's got to be something more exciting to do than that when you've got a ton of money.

Carmen, Natalia, Abdul, and Padre Juancho sit at the kitchen table, talking about the strange turn of events.  Natalia's glad Diego's not dead.  She goes off to rest after this long day while the others talk about what to do.  What it amounts to is, this is a big city and it's not likely they'll run into him again, so they'll stay calm, but alert.

An uncomfortable dinner with Grumpy Grandpa.  He's sending Diego to the plant tomorrow and he'll take the rescheduled meeting.  They're also interviewing for a new secretary in the Veep's office.  Diana wants her BFF Karina to have the job, but Grumpy Grandpa screams at her that no one works for him as a favor!  If Karina's so hot for the job and so qualified, then she's perfectly capable of showing up and applying just like everyone else!  Yikes!

The next day, Diana escorts Karina to the office, then goes in to tell the head of HR that he'd better hire her friend.  She smarms out without shaking his hand.  Natalia is the first person being interviewed since the first candidate he called didn't bother showing up.  Outside, Diana congratulates her friend on getting the job, once they fake an interview.

Diego looks at Natalia's address yet again, on the way to the plant.

Natalia sells herself in the interview, but the HR creep says they have a lot of applicants, so he can't tell her whether she's got the job or not.

Natalia gets home to find Diego waiting for her and Paolo entertaining him.  She screams at him that she didn't do anything and he knows perfectly well what happened.  She runs off to her room, yelling at Paolo to get rid of him.  Paolo won't let him go without telling him what happened.  Diego has no clue, but he says it's better if he leaves.  Paolo's brother-sense is tingling, so he goes to ask Natalia what happened.  She can't answer, so he calls his mom to tell Carmen that some guy showed up and Natalia is freaking out.  Natalia just keeps sobbing while Paolo tries to comfort her…for what, he has no idea, and no idea what to do.  He goes off to find their godmother.

Outside, Diego chastises himself for being a fool.  He calls the Bro Boy he's friends with and tells him he saw his lost love at the po-po, and then went to her house, and then she threw him out.  "It's as if she saw a ghost!  What do I do?"  Bro says to forget about her.

Eleazar is over at his mom's when Paolo comes knocking and they both go to see what they can do for Natalia.

Diana is pissy that she had to wait so long for Karina to finish her fake interview.  Karina is pissy that the interview didn't seem very fake, as Diana had promised.  She wonders if maybe Diego found out that Diana talked to the HR guy.  Diana is distracted by some booty texts from her boy toy.  Apparently even his texting gets her all hot and bothered.  She runs off to the bathroom so she can call him.  "Stop texting me!  It's getting me all hot and bothered!"  Well, he's all hot and bothered too, and he wants a little something-something posthaste.  Amid heavy breathing, Diana says she'll figure something out.  She tells Karina she forgot she has a dentist appointment.  The guy who's waiting to do some…um…drilling…texts her yet again.  The expression on her face should make it perfectly clear to Karina that she's not texting her dentist or "a friend."

Luz makes Natalia a cup of tea.  That's the way to fix everything.  Eleazar confesses that he gave the guy their address.  He had no idea this would happen. He gets yelled at by Carmen and apologizes to Natalia. Paolo insists they're not telling him everything and Carmen brushes him off, saying it's just an ex that Natalia wants nothing to do with anymore.  She tells him to go help out at the fonda. Pobre de Paolo!  Once Carmen dispatches all their guests, Natalia starts talking.  She's confused that he showed up, that Paolo said he was so nice and polite, that he acts like nothing happened that night.  She calms down a bit when Carmen says if he shows up again, they'll just move.

Back at her place, Luz is surprised to find Eleazar.  She passes on Carmen's story that it was just an ex of Natalia's.  He doesn't buy it.  After getting chewed out by Carmen, he doesn't like his mother also telling him he shouldn't have given out the address.  He vows to stay out of Garcia family business from now on.

At the office, Diego crumples up Natalia's address.  HR creep hands over the resumes for secretary, telling Diego that Karina is the most qualified applicant.  Diego tells him that if she's the best candidate, she's hired, and since she's a friend of his wife's, he'll call and tell her the good news. But she's busy with her boy toy, so the call goes directly to voicemail.

Over at the love nest, Diana brought over a bottle of champagne.  He says they can chill the champagne while they heat each other up.

Diego calls to tell Karina she's got the job.  She squeals in delight and swears she'll be the bestest secretary ever!  Oh, and Diana's at the dentist.

"I guess she's getting her fillings checked."  --Mr. 5ft.

Before Carmen and Natalia can leave to drop Natalia off at work, she gets a call from HR at Caprico to tell her that the secretary position is filled, but there's another vacancy as a typist.  It might not be what she's looking for, but it pays well.  Natalia accepts and says she'll report for work tomorrow.

Tomorrow:  Natalia and Diego are face to face again…will he finally find out what Rodrigo did?

OK, so maybe the HR creep isn't such a creep after all. Karina's probably going to get herself fired on the first day, since I'm assuming she's really NOT qualified or she wouldn't have needed her bestie to pull strings.

Thanks for another delightful recap, Kat! And congrats on the commercial!

I don't know what it is about Lucero Suarez, but her shows just make me happy even amidst baddies and sad times. Paolo was the best and sweetest bro tonight. He was so concerned.

And again with the familiar faces! I wish I could remember where I've seen Diana's lover before. And is that Gaby fro STuD I'm the opening credits?

Cool commercial, Kat! I didn't see any chocolate on that chef coat. :)

I saw a bit of the episode tonight. I felt for Nat's brothers. One accused of a crime he didn't commit. The other stuck with a hysterical sister and no one will tell him what's going on.

HOLY COW! 5Ft Diva, you are doing this solita!!! I'm not following or watching the TN, but I SO enjoy your writing talent that I had to check in yet again. I might have to break down yet and see this one, but Robo is taking up too much time as it is.

You looked GREAT in that commercial!!! Just think, we will all be able to say, "Oh yeah, we knew her way back when she was a recapper on CarayCaray!!"

Hope you get more commercials 5Ft!!

Fatima

Thanks for the recap Kat. You had so many funny asides such as Eleazar's underling saying half of Mexico has the last name Garcia, Diana's boring life in her home, and Mr. 5ft's comment about Diana's fillings. And ITA that Karina won't have that job for long. Your commercial was nice too.

Sara, I too am wondering who Diana's lover is.

So is the evil twin still in some type of coma off-screen to come back at an inconvenient time?

Sara, Diana's lover, Oliverio, is played by Jesús Moré. He played Vicente, the boyfriend later husband of Rocio (Sherylin) from "Cuidado con el Ángel." The writers completely changed his personality, and we bloggers were horrified. He's also been in "La mujer del Vendaval" and "Camaleones."

Yes Gaby from STuD is in this one, yelling at Grumps as he marches down the stairs. Who is she? A young, angry trophy wife? The twins' mom? Grumps' angry daughter? We will find out soon.

Speaking of mom, who are the twins' parents? We always see Diego eating dinner with Grumps.

Diana is a dummy, all she had to tell Karina was that it was Diego texting her & Karina would've been like OK and called it a day. Furtively texting while making guilty faces only inspires suspicion.

Thanks for the info, Karen!

"Diana is a dummy, all she had to tell Karina was that it was Diego texting her & Karina would've been like OK"

IKR? What an idiot.

I echo your questions. Maybe the parents passed away and gramps was left to care for them? It is odd that there has been no mention of them....

Good work, Kat.

Do we know what happened to Rodrigo? There hasn't been a funeral and he hasn't been mentioned since the hospital scene. I'm guessing that the twins' parents are dead and they ended up with the grandfather when still menor de edad.

Diana isn't just an idiot, she's a paranoid narcissist. Only one of those would suspect a spouse of cheating just because s/he is already cheating first.

Kat, congrats! Very nice!

I was only able to watch the first two episodes so was fairly in the dark as to what transpired the last few nights, but your recap brought me up to speed perfectly.

So Diego and Diana are married?? Not having watched, not sure of the timeframe and I must suppose he tried but couldn't find Nat (?) And Diana is already off and running around. Sounds promising.

"The guy who's waiting to do some…um…drilling…texts her yet again" and "I guess she's getting her fillings checked." --Mr. 5ft" were among my favorites.

Sounds as though the good Padre may have to give up his church related activities as his entire itinerary may soon be filled with helping Carmen and her family!

Thanks again Kat!

Diana

Diana --

2 years have passed.

Diego tried to find Natalia but Diana paid the maid to lie & say Natalia couldn't be found.

Los Garcia moved to Mexico City and live with/near Luz & Eleazar, who works for the police.

Natalia got a job at the rock kiosk and went to school & graduated.

I guess Diego didn't have any other options so he married Diana (in the church!)

Diego's been going to work; Diana sits at home and sneaks off with her lover.

Natalia's been looking for a new job since she graduated.

Dude carjacked Diego last night & forced him to drive around. He took the money out of Diego's wallet, tossed it out of the window and Abdul just happened to catch it.

Instead of going after the carjacker, the cops arrested Abdul. Abdul got hauled down to the station, tried to call Carmen (got VM), called Papa Juancho and Juancho called Natalia, who went down to the station.

Meanwhile Diego hitchhiked home, where he almost busted Diana talking to her amante. He borrowed her car to go to the police station to make a declaration.

That's how Diego & Natalia met up again.

You know, as odious as Gramps is he does seem to have a genuine dislike of Diana...which gives me great satisfaction.

Grumps has been side-eyeing and fart-facing Diana the entire show.

Fart-facing. Lolololol!

I can't wait for tonight. I'm also wondering how long it will take Natalia and Diego to clear things up.

I'm really wondering about Rodrigo. It's very clear from the Televisa website he's in a coma. All we got was a scene with doc saying "it's very serious." So help me if Uni has those scissors out....

Thanks for the feedback everyone!

Vivi--I don't actually own a chef coat, so I borrowed one to bring with me, but the stylist for the shoot had also purchased one, so I used that one. I don't think I could wear a white one. My work tees are all brown with my logo and those are perfect for not showing chocolate stains, but since I have to keep the kitchen cold, I long for a chocolate brown chef coat...with hot pink piping...and my name embroidered on it. *sigh*

Fatima--from your lips to the casting directors' ears!

Yep, that's Marisol del Olmo in the credits! She's one of my favorites. I don't know why she never gets cast as a lead.

The Garcia brothers had a rough night. I hope things start looking up for them soon.

I agree there must be some reason for NOT ever showing us where Rodrigo is or how he's doing. Maybe the shot of him in a hospital bed is waiting for Diego's reveal to Natalia? Taking her to see him would be an irrefutable way to prove that he's not the one who tried to rape her. A picture could be Photoshopped and a person could be bribed to lie.

Mr. 5ft has a horrible suspicion that instead of Karina getting fired on day 1 and putting us all out of our misery, she'll end up being a "Pati" as in Pati from Betty la Fea, Marcela's bestie, with her infamous "seis semestres de finances en la San Marino," hanging on forever, causing trouble, and just generally being an annoyance.

Anon, thank you for so graciously providing the highlights I've missed.

The most distressing thing you noted was that Diana and Diego were married in the church. Yikes! This will be a real impediment to Diego and Nat getting back together.

Again, thank you!

Diana

The only way I could see Diana surviving is if she and Diego had never consummated their marriage, and I don't think that's the case.

Camila in Amor Bravio had a church wedding with Alonso but their marriage was never consummated because Lil Alonso didn't work (with Camila...he worked with the prostitute & her sister, though!). Alonso still ended up dying, though.

I also forgot to add that Diego found out where Natalia lived but Los Garcia were gone and a neighborhood gossip boy told Diego that Natalia ran off with Andres.

Yep, if you click on the underlined "te-quiero" at the end of this recap, it will take you to a page where all the posts for or related to this show are listed. Except the initial show synopsis--we hadn't established a tag at that point. Handy for when you want to go back and check something. The link in the sidebar on the main page will also take you there.

La estrella de Caray, 5ft!!!!

¿Dónde está Rodrigo?

Diego & Natalia have never discussed their families, of course they haven't had a lot of time together.

I'm watching Pasión when I have a chance. Ricardo just did his amazing pirate swashbuckling antics. ¡Que hombre!!!!!

Marisol del Olmo is sooo good in it.
Then there is Marcelo Córdoba.
I also like Alberto Estrella & would like to see more of him. He was recently in sth that I stopped watching, can't remember which one.

I've been watching the Pasion re-runs too! I think my crush on Marisol dates from that show. She always gets cast as the feisty BFF. I don't know if even Marcelo can make the mullet look good...I try to focus on his face as much as possible :D

Maybe tonight someone will finally tell us exactly where Rodrigo is.
