Lo Que La Vida Mi Robo # 93-3/21/14: Hope Has Arrived And His Name Is Dimmy!
Let's begin shall we? I am leaving the old behind and beginning with the new.
Monse is talking to Nadia on the phone and she is sending Dimmy over there. Next, we see Nadia with Dimmy and they are perusing some paperwork. What has this to do with all the tea in China you ask? Well, Dimmy has a unique talent, do you remember what it is? Well, back when this TN started Dimmy used this talent for the forces of Evil, but now, he has turned the corner and is using this talent for good. What is it you ask? Forgery that's what! Remember he forged his Papa's signature on those deeds to the mansion? Well, Dimmy is looking at a signature of Peddy's (Pedro's) and forging it on a document to let Dimmy in to see Ale, that's what! This way the guards won't give Dimmy a hard time and he'll have access to Ale to tell him not to confess. He is to tell Ale that Peddy has got bupkiss on Ale.
Oh, it's the Fablush and Sandho duo of grifters (Fabiola and Sandro), and she's giving Sandho the skinny on Dimmy going to the jail to tell Ale about the non confession and she found some info on Ale's Mama. She was in jail for thirty years! The chisme is going round and round.
Dimmy has made it to the jail with his speciality paperwork and asks to see Ale. Well, Ale isn't allowed to see anyone y punto! Dimmy gives the guard that paperwork "signed" by Peddy and the next thing ya know, Dimmy is seeing Ale. The guard is keeping his eye on Dimmy.
Dimmy finally sees Ale who is none to pleased to see him and wonders how the hell Dimmy got in! Ale is still pithed at him and doesn't trust him as far as he can see him, oh, and it's mentioned that the reason Monse hasn't come by is cause well, Ale isn't allowed to see anyone, orders of Peddy. Dimmy tells him he is on his side, to help that is, pinky swear! Well, not that but ya know. We'll get back to them in a tic.
Oh, looky here, the meeting of El Diablo (Peddy) and his soon to be new minion Sandho. Sandho gives Peddy a bit of his background, he's a lawyer that has been practising law in Miami, FL, USA, and that he is half Cuban, half Mexican. He is in Aguazul on behalf of his client Fablush. Sandho asks Peddy if he knew Don Benny. Course he did, they were buds, er, well, you know. Well, Fablush is the daughter of Anastasia, Don Benny's sister and gives him the info on the car crash, Fablush being named sole heir in that old will of Don Benny's. Sandho has a question for Peddy, could Ale be an imposter? Just a thought. Well, come to think of it, Peddy lets him know that Don
Benny recognized Ale as his son on his deathbed. Peddy has a thought and with his naked eye, remembers that talk he had with Juvie, back in the day, when Juvie was alive and Juvie saying basically the same thing, that Ale could be an imposter. Sandho also tells him that Rosy, Ale's Mama, was in the prison for thirty years. Sandho wants to get to the bottom of this, cause if Ale is an imposter than well, Fablush wuz robbed! Sandho also tells him that Dimmy was gonna go see Ale, Ruh, Roh! El Diablo's horns are twitching so he makes it short with Sandho, and tells him he'd like to meet this Fablush, he'll do some poking around, leave it to him! He's gotta go urgent bidness!
In the meantime, back at Ale's mansion of broken dreams, are Monse and Rosy, doing the hand wringing bit. Ya know, how these women do in these Telenovelas! Rosy doesn't want Ale to rot in the prison, and Monse wants her man back so badly, she is willing to wade into "enemy territory" to see if Angie can help her. Rosy so doesn't want her going there, she'll run into that traitor JL, and besides Angie's Papa just well, bit the dust so to speak. So they wring their hands, Ay, Yi, Yi, and Porca Miseria (Italian phrase meaning Holy Hell!!!!)
We are back in the prison, and Ale is just pithed off. How dare Dimmy just show his face there and for what and what is Dimmy's newest get up???? Dimmy tells him he joined the Navy, as his Papa had wanted him to do, he is trying to mend his ways. He also explains that he forged a document with Peddy's signature so he could deliver a message to Ale. Ale of course, in his infinite wisdom, isn't buying it, he forged Lauro's signature for evil purposes, Dimmy stole from him and his own sister, for pity's sake and on top of that Dimmy was directly responsible for Bruno Gambo's ('member him) death! So there! Dimmy admits his mistakes to Ale, and explains to Ale what happened with that trumped up Dimmy is Don Benny's fiasco and Ale knows the rest now. Meantime, El Diablo has arrived at the prison and the guard is getting porca misera for letting Dimmy in, but, but, he had the proper paperwork and everything! The guard is pushed aside as Peddy makes his way to the interrogation room. In comes Peddy and he is pithed and threatens to have Dimmy arrested. Well, go right ahead then says Dimmy, but he turns to Ale, right in front of Peddy, and tells Ale there is no confession, and no evidence against him, the money included, is gone. Nothing, nada, bupkiss! Peddy tries to say that the confession does exist. Oh, and Peddy is gonna tell on Dimmy to Capitan Robeldo, nanny, nanny, boo, boo, Peddy bangs on the door and goes and Ale tells Dimmy there is a letter Joaquin wrote exonerating him and Dimmy wants to give that to Capitan Robeldo, but Ale won't give it up, porca misera!!!!! He still doesn't trust Dimmy. Ale's reason is that Joaquin's family is still in grave danger.
We go now to the grieving Arichega home, and Ginnie and Angie are crying and trying to comfort each other. Ginnie doesn't want Angie to die. Amelia tells both girls she is sure that Joaquin knew they loved them.
Peddy is out with the guard in front and wants to know about the search of Joaquin's cell, they should have found that confession. Nopis, bupkiss, nada, nothing. He informs the guard that Barajas is coming back to the prison, no visitors, no one is allowed to see him. In Ale's case now, he is allowed visitors. Oh, and no one is to know that Barajas is back. Dimmy comes out and wants to see Barajas next, the guard tells him nopis, no can do, it's forbidden, and Dimmy pulls the Navy is in charge, still Dimmy has no clout. He leaves.
JL and Angie are snuggling on their bed, and poor Angie can't sleep a wink. She has taken her meds, but still. Angie can't beleive what a coward her Papa was leaving an innocent man to rot in the prison and she's worried about poor Monse. All JL is worried about is Angie and the love as they kiss. There is a ringy dingy at the door and JL goes to answer, it is Dimmy, with his newly minted avocadoes, reporting as ordered. JL tells him to be at ease and Dimmy tells him he is sorry for what happened in the past, and to forgive him. JL tells him to forgive himself, it's all water under the bridge now. Dimmy says that he gave Ale the message of no confession, no evidence and then tells JL about that letter of Joaquin's that Ale has and that Peddy was Joaquin's real partner.
Peddy is pulling on his pipe, enjoying the sulfur in the room, when with his naked eye, he remembers that little meet of the ADN (DNA) results and that Dimmy was not the child of Don Benny, wrong sex, it was a girl, and then remembers his convo with Sandho. Peddy thinks that Gracie had a bebe with Don Benny. It could be true after all.
Ale is in his cell, and porca miseria, pulls out that letter of Joaquin's and reads it again. He hides it in his shirt and then thinks he will be in Monse's arms soon. Oh, please let it be so!!!!
El Diablo has come to see Sandho at Tomas the putz's house. They are left alone to their own devices. Sandho asks if Barajas confessed and is Ale going free? Peddy beleives that Ale is guilty as they come. Ale doesn't have proof he is Don Benny's son other than the recognizing on the death bed in front of two witnesses. Of course they could do a ADN test and manipulate the results if it comes to that. If Ale is proven to be a fraud, then Peddy and Sandho are going to be doing some bidness together. Less power to them I say!
Monse and Rosy are having dinner, which is largely untouched and Dimmy, with his newly minted avocadoes comes by. Dimmy gives them the news that Ale is fine, really, and that Barajas has not confessed, is not allowed to be seen by anyone. Dimmy eats Monse's dinner and Dimmy tells her how Ale's eyes lit up when he talked about her. Then Dimmy asks for limes!
And now let's have a moment of silence as we mourn, or not, Joaquin Arachega. Everyone it seems is there. JL wants Refugio to look after Angie but Angie insists that he stay with her. Oh, no, did Madonna know Joaquin??? Nah, it's Graceless with her too short skirt and her huge sunglasses and she is so NOT IN VOGUE! Amelia gives her the death ray.
Will this El Diablo just erupt in flames already! He has come home to his right hand minion, EZ, that is and is asking EZ if he's seen his wife. EZ thinks maybe Joaquin did do some other type of letter, code, what have you, before he went to hell, so Peddy orders another search.
Peddy goes upstairs and Nadia is sitting on the bed and looking a mite peaked, shall we say. Peddy tells her that they have to go to Joaquin's funeral in ten minutes, as in move it, move it. He goes and Nadia still sits on the bed looking a tad dizzy and taking deep breaths and looking confused. I bet she has the medical condition in Spanish that begins with an E and ends with an A. All Nadia can think of is Peddy's Stone Cold eyes.
Monse sees Ale in the prison, finally, and there are kisses from Bright Eyes!
AVANCES:
There is a search going on in the prison and Ale is asked to get nakkid! Ruh, Roh! Tune in Este Lunes to discover what all that is about!

I am working on the recap and it will be up shortly. I am inserting my usual little earworms, so if you see a blue link please click on it and listen to some music. I picked the first one cause, well Pharrell lives in my town and this tune is such a mood booster. It is finally Spring Y'all! Please comment away as I gather the skinny for you ; )
If we are all jumping for joy in the bunker (including me, no less!), then you must be bringing us good news. I haven't canceled the Hulu Plus subscription, yet, but today, I just might have the courage to watch the episode!!
It felt so horrible (to me) on this TN yesterday, thank you for bringing us hope!
Love the song and agree that it is a wonderful pick to start the day!!
Fatima
JudyB, yes, I was thinking the same thing. Maybe it is time for me to take a break and just read our wonderful recaps. Madelaine has given me hope today!
Dianayou are ever the thoughtful and so very kind person. Thank you for your warm words. Yesterday, I didn't think I could possibly continue to see such a dark TN. I could not make it through "La Que No Podia Amar" and that one doesn't even begin to compare to what we are seeing here on Robo. I can stop watching the TN, but I could not leave this wonderful community of intelligent, thoughtful, and witty people. Thank you again. :))
NovelaMavena huge thank you for validating my thoughts/observations if even only indirectly yesterday. That even YOU wondered about the direction this TN was headed gave me comfort that I was not just imagining things!
I can't wait for Madelaine's super recap!
Fatima
As you so astutely noted, all is not lost - hope is alive and well. While the flames of destruction have not been extinguished, they are showing signs of being brought under control.
Fatima, please do watch! It will be worth it when you see our Dimitrio go up against Pedro. Thrilling! I can't promise every future episode will be uplifting but this certainly had its upbeat moments. Watch when you care to but don't leave us. We need your caring and passion.
Madelaine, cannot wait for your recap. I am now humming away and singing under my breath and care not a whit if anyone notices.
Diana
Another step toward Dimitrio's redemption, but we can't fault Alejandro or Jose Luis for not believing it. Dimitrio has too much to make up for to both of them and to Monserrat who is the only one in any position to watch his change thus far.
It sounds like Sandro and Pedro will conspire to fake DNA results to make it look like Alejandro is an impostor. Which means we can expect him and Monserrat to be poor for a while.
Despite knowing that the Mexican justice system isn't like ours I can't believe that a prisoner like Barrajas could be held incommunicado to that extent and that Alejandro's lawyer wouldn't be allowed to talk to him.
It is also now completely obvious to Pedro that Dimitrio is onto him. Which also has to mean that Jose Luis and the rest of the Navy would be onto him, physical evidence notwithstanding.
Never expected to laugh during this episode, but Graciela's entrance at Joaquin's funeral and Amelia's understated glance at her was a hoot.
How much have I come to love Dimmy!
My only gripe is that I'm tired of watching Rosario cry her way thru every epi. She was in jail for 30 years! The woman has to have more fortitude and be a bit harder than the snowflake that is Montse! I'm disappointed that the women are all crying while the men, even Dimmy, are contributing in a substantial way.
Especially treasured by those of us still smarting from NCAA defeats (trivial setbacks but setbacks, nonetheless, for those of us who care about such things).
Thanks, my musical friend.
Fatima--Just finished The Goldfinch. I considered it well worth it, but "cuidado"...if you are feeling fragile and downhearted, perhaps it would be risky to read. There are some rough passages.
Thanks to all the recappers and commenters, this blog is a bright spot in my day!
I am a bit "Frah-gee-lay" these days as the late, great Darren McGavin said in my happy movie "A Christmas Story"!
I'm still pulling for the Shockers and I hope my UCLA doesn't go down in an upset like Duke!!
Fatima, who is so glad our Madelaine give us a wonderful ear worm to start the day.
Anyway, if feeling "Frah-gee-lay" Donna Tartt's bleak ruminations on the human condition are not for you. At the moment.
Her descriptive passages are so beautiful they're incandescent, as well as her thoughts on the power of great art to transcend that bleak human condition.
But so many other passages lead you down a dark and dangerous tunnel if you are the least bit prone to depression. So step back from that one. Although I truly believe that if we still have books 100 years from now, and are still reading books, the Goldfinch will be considered a must-read classic for any educated person.
Well, the sun is shining today which always gives me a boost of energy...so back to doing laundry and washing windows. I am hoping to get out to clean up the patio and backyard. Have a happy weekend.
The other possible answer is that he believes he has EZB so intimidated that he will get this confession out of Barrajas. Whom I guess is not complying because he knows he's already a dead duck.
You had my smiling with just your opening paragraph. Thanks for such a cheerful start to my Saturday.
EJ
The recap is finally up. Please enjoy ; ) If I made a mistake or got something wrong please let me know. Enjoy the earworms too ; )
And Dimmie made such a great hero. I loved the scene where he showed up at Montsys and ate her dinner. So natural! I'm a little worried for Dim, tho, because he's thrown himself right in harms way. Don't think Peddy (great name Mads) will like being bested by the likes of Dim.
Fina would be so proud!!!
Thanks for your HAPPY upbeat recap, Mads. Your recap brightened this dark tale.
Shockwave just crashed on my computer, so I will have to wait until tomorrow to check that out.
My favorite line was the recurring porca miseria! Yep, we're in for a lot more porca miseria before things get better in this one.
I HATE EXTENSIONS. BUT LOVED YOUR RECAP AND THE MUSIC LINKS. THANKS, MADS.
"He is to tell Ale that Peddy has got bupkiss on Ale", "Ale's mansion of broken dreams", "the Fablush and Sandho duo of grifters" and "Porca Miseria" were among my many favorites.
I was enjoying every minute of Dimitrio. Katy, I also enjoyed him eating Monse's dinner. I thought she smiled for a second and looked down - wonder if that was scripted? In either case, it worked.
Does Sandho have any inkling just how dangerous Pedro is? His MO is sailing in sporting bright citrus fashions, flashing that million dollar smile and believing he can charm the world. He had best be careful. While he seems very intelligent, cruelty has a life and power all its own and Pedro's is quite unmatched. Only EZ knows the full extent of Pedro's machinations and I fear he is the only one who might take him down.
Madelaine, I could not figure out the Dimitrio/JL exchange. Thank you for "JL tells him to forgive himself, it's all water under the bridge now". JL proves once again that he is an honorable, good man. Not perfect but pretty darn close.
I wish Ale had given Dim the letter as it appears it does not have much chance of escaping detection from the previews.
Thanks for the extra sunshine you provided today Madelaine. Now if you will please excuse me, I have a video I need to rewatch.
Diana
I like how Demetrio is coming in to his own and has a working brain. I loved how he falsified Pedro's signature. Also I loved when he told Ale the truth and to not say anything in Pedro's presence. He did a good job verbally sparring with Ale. Even though Ale had 1,001 reasons not to trust Dimitri I was wishing he would just shut up and take the help because Pedro was on the way. Very frustrating scene.
I don't like how Pedro and Sandro are joining forces.
Barajas is turning out to be a real hero in his own way.
I am also willing to cut Rosario some slack because she is the only one who has an idea od what Ale is going through in jail and she is his mother. She had good advice for Montse to stay away from Angelica and her family right now. Will Montse follow her advice? Sure hope so.
It wouldn't surprise me if Nadia were pregnant. Too bad if she is.
The biggest question for me: when in the heck is Captain Robledo coming back already? Seems that his presence is the only thing that might put the brakes on Pedro and give Ale a fair chance.
Jarifa
I really fear for Nadia and Victor if she is pregnant.
What a dynamite recap! The new and improved Dimitrio is my telenovio for sure. Wow.
I was shocked that he stood up to Pedro. I was also delighted.
Fatima: Oh, I am so sorry that you are Fra-gee-lay today. We watch 'A Christmas Story' several times each season. I was thinking that EZeke is even a bigger bully that Scutt Farkiss (sp).
Mads, thank heavens you caught a less gloomy day. I was quite depressed by the time I finished recapping yesterday's happenings.
So now we think Ale and Montse get to be poor for a while? Nice. Rosario and Ale are already accustomed to poverty but this should be a real revelation to Montserrat. Hopefully she will have enough of her creams, powders and unguents (remember the suitcase full of them she brought to the Hacienda) to last her until the ultimos capitulos when we know Ale will get everything back.
Hey, Mads:
Can women in the Navy wear makeup? Maybe Montse could join up as well to help support Ale and little Laurito. Do you have to qualify in swimming? It might be hard for Montse to swim 300 yards in her high heels.
Smile.
Thanks again, Mads, for a great recap.
EJ
Perhaps she could start a dress boutique. Her grandmother was a seamstress, no? She certainly has beautiful (if formal) style.
She should start by giving her Mother and Extreme Makeover.
Hee hee.
EJ
EJ, I like the idea of Montse's house of fashion. Gracie would be no help at all but I'm sure Rosario could carry her own weight.
I'll bet Montse would handle poor just fine. It's Gracie who would wither on the vine.
Thanks Mads! And thanks for bringing in that old Italian saying porca miseria, reminds me of those great Italian movies from the '50s. Weren't they always saying that?
I think I might be able to see this one. Amazing, no?
JudyB, amiga mia, given that I am a tad Frah-gee-lay, I think I will take your advice and hold off on The Goldfinch. However, it is on my list (and do I ever have a list). Oh, and, yes, that wonderful Leg of Lamp is on some show. It think the show you mentioned is The One. :))
Elna June, Scut Farkus!!!!! Not only did he have hair, he had pretty red hair!!!
Madelaine, you have made our weekend!! Thank you SO much. Plus, I now know I can see the episode on Hulu Plus and not have to turn away every five minutes. :))
Fatima
Loved your description of "Peddy" enjoying the sulfur in the room. It's funny you call Pedro "El Diablo" I was just thinking today another of those evil quotients (mentioned by commenters a couple of recaps ago), which so far from the TN's I have seen is unique to this character, he requires his subjects to sacrifice themselves for him-their lives. He holds himself as God-big transgression. Let's add that to the list.
I enjoyed seeing Dimi using his talents against Pedro. When Graci entered, I thought how thrilled she must be to use her stylish new black wardrobe again.
Worried about the search and Ale finding a hiding place for Joaquin's final letter of exoneration.
Just finished reading the recap and comments. Gracias! It was a bright spot among my very busy day. Your recap is giving hope to those that were thinking of abandoning ship. Fatima, amiga, things are looking up. Don't leave us now. We are all here on the patio to guide you through. Hope you have a seat and stay with us to the end.
Loved the title and so happy to know that I am needed on the Patio. Yay! Thanks for the shout out Madelaine!
A few of my favs:
"Oh, it's the Fablush and Sandho duo of grifters..."
"In the meantime, back at Ale's mansion of broken dreams, are Monse and Rosy, doing the hand wringing bit."
"Oh, and Peddy is gonna tell on Dimmy to Capitan Robeldo, nanny, nanny, boo, boo,"
"...it is Dimmy, with his newly minted avocadoes, reporting as ordered."
"El Diablo has come to see Sandho at Tomas the putz's house."
"Oh, no, did Madonna know Joaquin??? Nah, it's Graceless with her too short skirt and her huge sunglasses and she is so NOT IN VOGUE!"
Dimi to the rescue! So nice to see Dimi putting his talents to good use. And I just know he is totally enjoying himself. I thought that Dimi wouldn't talk after Peddy arrived, but thank goodness for his (Dimi's) boldness. But I now fear for our hero. Will Dimi now face the wrath of Peddy? Let's hope the Marina's got Dimi's back.
I too have to give Rosy a pass. She must be reliving her days in the slammer and praying that her newly found son doesn't face the same future she had 30 years ago.
Peddy just gets worse with every epi. He better have a slow and painful anvil. He just has to. He is on the short bus ride straight to hell. His missing avocadoes DO NOT give him a free pass. PUNTO!
I am not liking Sandho & Faby hooking up with Peddy. They are only going to help him carry out his evil doings. Diana, you had me laughing with, "His MO is sailing in sporting bright citrus fashions..."
I am wondering if it was a good idea for Ale to keep that confession letter instead of handing it over to Dimi. From the avances, it looks like the guards might find it. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind the guards making Ale strip down to his birthday suit for our viewing pleasure, ahem, I mean for a search, but I don't want that letter found.
Thanks again Madelaine for the awesome recap. Oh, and for the earworms!
Back to surfing the web...hasta pronto!
Who would have thought back in the beginning that Dim would be the light in the darkness? I hope he hasn't signed his death warrant with his boldness. Not Dimmy!
Pedroach is the most sick and depraved character I have seen in a long time. Not enough to cheat and have people killed...he has to push them into doing the deed themselves? I nearly threw up when he got EZ to pull the trigger, and I hate EZ!
Anyone notice the little statue on his desk? It's one of those Justice figures, holding scales, but it looks like one side of the scale is missing. Zing, set decorator.
Thanks for giving the three boys who contribute to this site, Demetrios, Carlos and yours truly a shout out in your intro.
I don’t know yet what to make about this supposed new Dimmy. For me, it’s too early to say whether or not he’s finally reached down and grabbed a set of “pelotas”.
Sandro reminds me of another scumbag, Jose Canseco. They have the same peinado, which is best described as some sort of “gran nido”.
Sandro was probably selling used cars on Calle Ocho in Little Havana before he hooked up with that Latina Mary Poppins.
I bet EZ was a trashman before and during his work the magical Trashcan fell on his head and spoke to him ,then everything changed.
http://02varvara.files.wordpress.com/2010/12/01-trash-can.jpg
I bet when EZ gets caught he will say "Its the Trashcans fault not mine!" So the story ends and the anvil doesnt fall on the right person and the evil Trashcan laughs on his throne ,plotting more evil, waiting for more people to fall to his curse , now being elected as the Governor of Mexico
Thanks so much for this fantastic recap! It was up-beat, funny, and wonderfully detailed throughout with great descriptions and observations of everyone and everything in this crazy TN.
Loved this line: "In the meantime, back at Ale's mansion of broken dreams, are Monse and Rosy, doing the hand wringing bit."
And this aside of yours re Pedro and Sandro really made me laugh: "Less power to them I say!"
I thought the way you framed the recap was wonderful, too, noting that DIM has become a "Disturbance in the Force" and is now doing good. I don't think I ever would have imagined this turn of events, but it's very satisfying to see someone figuring out ways to outsmart Pedro.
My favorite moment was when Pedro threatened to have DIM arrested for forging a document with Pedro's signature and DIM said basically, "What document? The imbecile outside just let me in." while tearing up the actual forged document right in front of Pedro's eyes!
At last someone in this TN who is thinking on his/her feet. Just goes to show you DIM really is GRACIE's and LAURO'S son with the best qualities of both that can come out in the right combination when used for good.
Thanks again, Mads, and happy spring to you and you all! We're being sent warnings of a huge snowstorm this week, but even then it doesn't feel as overwhelming as before since it's clear spring is coming. It's like a weakening Pedro--the forecasters should name it after him.
Monse and Rosy, doing the hand wringing bit
Oh, no, did Madonna know Joaquin??? Nah, it's Graceless
I was so grateful for the unexpected laugh that Gracie gave me that I found myself at her table. So what she slowly poisoned Benjamin to death. That louse raped Rosario and who knows how many other campesina women. He had it coming. But then I remembered the evil she tried with her own baby. So nope, the Gracie table is still empty.
ITA all said about Dim. Hope he fills in Fina on all the news, including about Fab.
Laurito should slap mom and dad for giving him godparents he can't even associate with. I understand Monse not wanting to deal with JL and attend the funeral, but Angie has been a good friend to her despite everything. This is 2014. How about just picking up the phone and conveying condolences to Angie.
They score equally on Perversion and Level of Greed/Ambition, but their other high scores are on different items. Pedro has carried out more physical abuse and ordered more while Fernando scores on mistreatment of own children and mistreatment of animals (He was contemplating it, which is a bad sign). Pedro has no score on those only because there is no information.
We can only score on known murders (that's in actual numbers) and Fernando scores higher on that so far. However, Pedro has lots of time to catch up to that because he will have more episodes to come.
Where Pedro will eventually outscore Fernando is something quantifiable in how many others will be affected by his evil in the long term. Fernando's evil is directed at Isabel, Andrea, and the people they love while Pedro's will affect the families of anyone who consumes the illegal drugs or is forced into trafficking them to pay for his habit. We also know that this will cost a few more lives before this is over.
Thank you so much for all your kind words. I just had to use the "Happy" earworm cause this TN has been dishing out the doldrums for the last two weeks. We needed a breather.
EJ:
Yes, women in the Navy can wear makeup as long as it is tastefully applied.
Jarifa:
I got a kick out of the porca miseria over on Pobres, so why not use it here, lol
Cap'n:
Yes, they do use that phrase a lot in old Italian movies especially the Fellini ones.
Urban A, nice job playing with the Villany Scorecard. Sounds like Pedro has plenty of time to zoom ahead of Fernando. Nadia should escape from Peddy (hee) now before her bebe is born. Surely no sane mother would raise a child in the nest of that scorpion. Ped has no avocados but he definitely has a stinger.
Mads, I forgot to say thanks for the shout outs in your recap. Especially for our hombres which we are definitely blessed to have in our midst. It reminds us that we are here as a group, enjoying the ups and downs together, so those of you with a Frah-gee-lay nature you know you are not alone and may stick your heads in the pillow whenever you like. One of us will tap you on the shoulder when it's OK to look.
You have no idea how many times I've played the "Happy" vid!!
Aunty Ann , amiga, that is SO kind of you to think of me. I'm taking our dear JudyB's advice and reading the recaps first to see what I can handle watching. Yes, I am a bit of a wimp, but sometimes, I just can't help it.
I could not bear to be without this wonderful group of people, so I will hang in there as best as I can.
Oxnard Huero, Calle Ocho!!! I was dying laughing at the mental image that brought to my mind!! Plus, you NAILED it amigo on the resemblance to Jose Canseco (another dirt bag). This actor plays slimy very well.
Demetrios, "Trashcan"!! Ay!, you and Oxnard Huero need to team up!
Fatima
How perspicacious was Josefina when she first hitched her wagon to that useless lyin' wastrel Dimirtrio? Turns out that maybe she wasn't as ingenuous as she first seemed... or did she just get lucky? He certainly is the current bright spot in he dreary morass. Alejandro may have the prettiest, brightest smile, but Dimitrio's sly enigmatic smile is much more intriguing.
Alejandro needs to realize that there are times that it's best to just shut up and listen. There was absolutely nothing to gain by enumerating Dimitrio's crimes at that moment.
Where the heck is María these days? I know that I'm sure missing her. I wonder if she's cooking and cleaning house for Adolfo?
Carlos
Fatima
Maria cooking and cleaning house for Adolfo? Hmmm...makes me wonder what she would gain by hitching her horse to that wagon. Aside from the obvious short-term "benefit".
You never fail to deliver a perfect recap, always sprinkled with new zingers, gracias, amiga.
Those two certainly wasted a lot of time in the visitors' room at the prison, but it all ended on a hopeful note, no? Trust someone to screw it up for them. Barrajas, please don't die just yet.
Robledo: Please Call Home! Or better yet, Come Home.
When Gracie walked into the funeral, did she really know where she was? It looked as though she thought she was...on a fashion show runway, perhaps? The latest in funeral or wedding fashions (I'm looking at you Raquel in La Impostora).
UA-I love your evil quotient scale. I haven't been watching MPV, but there is a big difference when someone is an angry papa and another where the character is a former police chief turned mayor who has power and henchmen AND is involved in illicit drug trade. That makes him especially dangerous. I don't suppose there is any way to take profession and/or opportunity into account?
Demetrios--I noticed when Peddy put the pillow across his crotch while visiting Sandho. Maybe men check out each other's packages and he didn't want to come up short.
OxHu--Re Calle Ocho. Sandho is certainly thrifty for a grifter. He's found a new use for his Used Car Salesman jackets.
I love the reformed Dimmy, I hope this doesn't happen.
[Fatima, did you remember to bring the candles and MATCHES into the bunker? Elna June, I hope you put some fresh batteries in all the flashlights.]
I have laid in a large suppliy of batteries and individual iPods loaded with Meds song suggestion, "Happy".
Not to put too fine a point on it, but the pillow placement does seem...odd.
Anita and Aunty Ann: Good heavens you two have creative minds! I have no idea if men 'check one another out.' I have even less of an idea of whether they would admit that they did. Grin.
Still, if I was a man, I am sure I would be curious....
I cannot believe that I am even speculating on this subject. Somehow it seems to be a bright and cheery topic compared to most of the current plot points in "Robo".
Guffaw.
EJ
I have no idea where this story is going, but there are still many episodes ahead.
Yes, men do check out each other's packages. This is as old as humanity. I give you two ancient examples:
Martial (Roman poet): When you hear applause at the baths you know someone with a giant d--k has arrived.
Juvenal (Roman satirist): When you run out of luck it doesn't matter how big your p---s is.
Imagine what these two would have said about Pedro (whose only stinger is his acid tongue).
Urban, I gotta hand it to ya, you come up with some doozies in this history department!! :))
Fatima
JudyB--If you are checking past episodes, have you run across the one where Peddy makes Joe write the note? Something nags at me that Pedro wasn't happy with the note--it was sarcastic or something and Peddy made Joe write it again. He took those with him and all we saw on the table was the pen Joaquin hid. So, wouldn't it have been up to Peddy to have the note placed in Joaqui's cell?
I think two different writers were working on these scenes and didn't coordinate before filming, IMO.
Joaquin wrote his note on pages from his book, which Ale found.
This is all very confusing.
If I make it to the Bunker, I'll bring enough pens and paper for everyone to play the old Lost and Found fold down game. Does anyone remember playing it? My father was great for playing it when we had company. I loved being allowed to participate.
1. At the top of a piece of paper, write the name of someone (usually someone famous or someone you know). Fold it over to hide the name and pass it to the person on your right.
2. Take the paper from the person on your left and write down an object your person lost and ditto the fold over and pass it on.
3. Write down where the object was lost. Ditto the fold, etc.
4. Write down the name of someone who found the object. Same as above.
5. Write down where the object was found. Same as above.
6. Write down what the person that found it did with the found object.
Then you open them all up and take turns reading them. Some of them turn out to be quite funny since different people are adding a line.
Feeling very bracketed-busted by the way, "the wise JudyB" is pretty awful at brackets, turns out...I was backing Wichita State all the way and they're done for.
But still cheering for Carlos' Baylor Bears!

About the note that Peddy had Joe write. In it Joe was forced to write that Ale was his one and only accomplice and that Ale was responsible for his land having grown the illicit drug, whateva it was. In other words, he tried to make Ale out to be the head honcho. Now Peddy did keep that note and maybe it was too soon after Joe took his life for Peddy to reveal it. I know, I know, why not as soon as Joe died? Now that Peddy knows that the Navy knows he has gotten bupkiss, he is trying to make Barajas confess about Ale being the bad head honcho, but so far Barajas has taken a lot more crap than Joe did, and he still isn't talking. Maybe Barajas is much more afraid of whoever is in charge of Peddy, up the line that is, than of Peddy. Seems Barajas is wanted in not only Mexico but the U.S. as well. They did mention that. Hope that answers your question.
I still had that epi from Wednesday on my DVR where Peddy tells Joaquin to write the suicide note. Peddy DID NOT keep the letter. The letter stayed with Joaquin and Peddy told Joaquin to make sure and leave the letter in a place the guards would be sure to find it (once they found Joaquin's dead body of course).
That letter that Peddy approved has now disappeared. The last person to have it in their hand was Joaquin. That is why Peddy was so surprised and pithed when they told him there was no suicide note. My guess is that Joaquin ripped it to shreds and threw it away outside of his jail cell, or he burned it, or maybe he ate it!
Back to dinner...hasta pronto!

JudyB, may I say how SCHOCKED I am that the Shockers did not come through?! I am so disappointed; so very disappointed. My school (UCLA) is going to the Sweet 16, but I was so rooting for the Shockers. Both Kentucky and Wichita State shot well from the field, but I guess this is why it is called March Madness. I am BUMMED. Amiga, we sure do have a lot of reasons to sit on the couch singing Kumbaya, don't we?! :))
Gang, thanks for letting is be a tad OT with the B-ball bidnez every now and then. :) It takes my mind off of Pervy Peddy. The guy is making me sick.
Fatima
You would make M. Hercule Poirot very proud Amiga! Thanks for going back and checking. It's funny what our brains remember isn't it? I just remember Peddy having that letter in his hot hands and what I focused on the most was that pen in Joaquin's hand. I thought when he left with it, now what is he going to use that for? I thought he'd use it as a shiv or something on himself, never dreaming he would write a second letter! But this TN is full of surprises and the way this was filmed as very clever. This show is very fond of the flashback and so maybe in the future, we will find out exactly how Joaquin got rid of the incriminating letter, just a thought.
Well, Mr June is just about as excited as a lawyer can be about Stanford's unexpected luck.
He never played basketball at the Cardinal, just football and rugby, but in the last few days he has discovered a newfound enthusiasm for college basketball.
I told him we are also rooting for Baylor. He raised a brow and asked why. I told him, "Because".

Agree with Madelaine! H. Poirot would be SO very proud of you. :))
Sorry, I missed that, amiga, but that's what I get for reading too quickly.
Corazon Salvaje, thank you for that Premios list. I'm so glad that our Padre Plaid from MPV won!!! We were all so said when he was killed (and for no reason, too).
Fatima
Wow! What a compliment! And it is graciously accepted. Thank You. I do have to give credit to modern technology that assisted in my investigation. Thank goodness for DVR's. I knew there was a reason I had kept this weeks episodes. Can't wait for tomorrow's capitulo. Once again, thanks for the compliment amigas!
Back to folding cloths (and the case of the missing sock)...hasta pronto!
Thanks for the Premios list, Corazon. I am glad AV and Erika son, and I am not surprised that Marjorie won. she is a go getter. she danced her heart out in that Bailando show.
As to the case of the missing letter, Joaquin might have flushed it or eaten it.
Well, I am off to teach articles and noncount nouns. Later, Gators.
Don't be surprised if CI wins something in the next round of Premios; this has happened before.
Except for Ale's and Joaquin's, very cell in a prison has a sink/commode fixture. The two aren't in a holding cell in a jail anymore. (They should have decent beds, too, like Santos did in QBA and roommates, like Cap'n Delicious in La Temp.)
It makes sense. Why didn't they just show us a brief scene where Joe flushes the note down a toilet. It would have saved a lot of hand wringing on the Patio.
BTW, what's a noncount noun? Just goes to show you how long it has been since I was learning grammar.
Noncount nouns are nouns that you cannot count like sugar, you cant say 2 sugars but you have to say a cube of sugar,a little of sugar etc,i know that from English lessens, one another example is cheese.
Thank you for the Premios list. Can't quite accept the idea that Sherlyn is still being considered a Juvenile at 28. When is the cut-off, does anyone know?
Wouldn't Cheese and a few other nouns make the plural list? If you are serving a variety of cheeses, you could pluralize it.
I guess we need Susanlynn or the NovelaMaven to step in here.
Question form is "Am i serving a variety of cheese today?
Negative form is " Im not serving varieties of cheese today
Correct me if i am mistaken

All we know is he stuck it back into his prison uniform pocket. Maybe this little meeting with Monse will be another catalyst for the story to move forward.
Demetrios--I can't say whether you are mistaken or not.
However, if I go into a cheese specialty shop and pick out several different cheeses, I would use the plural, i.e. I'm interested in several different cheeses today (but I would say I'd like 3 different kinds of cheese, please--[note that here kinds is plural]).
If I were going to buy 2 lbs. of the same cheese, I would stick to the singular, i.e. 2 pounds of Swiss cheese, please.
Another sentence you could use is after the statement... Que mal olor!
"Which one of you paisas cut the cheese"?
Count nouns can be counted. They have a singular and a plural form. The plural form can be regular and add an "s" (one boy, two boys) or irregular (1man, a men...1 baby , 2 babies....1 sheep, w sheep, etc.)
Noncount nouns cannot be counted and have only one form. There is no plural form. Noncount nouns include liquids, gases, weather (fog, rain, thunder), gerunds (running, reading, laughing)', abstractions (something that has no physical form...love, hate, fear, luck), categories ( jewelry, traffic, money, mail, luggage, equipment, etc), small particles (rice, salt, sugar, sand , dust, etc) , and substances (everything is made of a substance plastic, glass, wood, cotton, metal, gold, silver, etc)
As for cheese...it is noncount ...You can have a slice of cheese , a pound of cheese, etc...but we sometimes say "I bought two cheeses, as shorthand for "I bought two kinds of cheese"
Demetrius.. I must ask. Is English your first language ?
I am delighted by your grammar lessons. Novela Maven kindly offers us help in Spanish grammar, but I love considering the ways we convey meaning in English, as well. It seems that this is particularly useful when you say, as Demetrios did, "In Elglish we say..." vs. "In Spanish we say..."
I have forgotten so much about English grammar. English must be a bear to learn.
EJ
It's mostly because English mugs other languages and steals all the coolest words. However, at least we're not the only one that has irregular verbs and noncount nouns.
As for grammar, English grammar is pretty structured. Once you learn the rules, you are set. My students have a lot of trouble with verb tenses..very confusing , especially for people whose language have only a few tenses like Asian languages.
There are languages that are worse, though. You have to admit in English verbs are easier and gender is almost non existent.
Run, ran.
