Por Siempre Mi Amor 3/7/14 (Friday) #66
Bullets tonight. Un lujo de detalles mañana.
- Javier decides he needs to get rid of Este. That will kill two birds with one stone since it will destroy Andrea. Even Sonia seems appalled.
- Dan confronts Sonia and wants to know why she went to see Mari so much at Tita's and why she jumped the gun in introducing her to Don Gil. Sonia claims she was just looking after little bro.
- Art hires a
n ineptPI. Javier spots him almost immediately and confronts him (we have to wait until Monday to find out what happens.) - Dan and Gil get into a huge fight. Dan is leaving the house and Gil is cutting off any financial support. This is good news to Sonia since it just means more $$$ for her.
- Gabi finds out about Almudena and Bruno wanting to adopt the kiddoes. She calls Bruno and bursts into tears as she congratulates him. Later she and Isa talk about mood swings. Isa asks Gaby what she will tell the baby about the daddy.
- Gaby's tears really bothered Bruno. While trying to tell Bruno he's got to stop concerning himself so much with Gaby, Art slips up and says Gaby is going to have a great family of her own and tries to cover it up like he meant that Gaby is like a part of his and Isa's family.
- Sonia goes to visit the Padre. He begs her to come clean because they have to stop the Dan/Mari 'ship. Sonia balks and finally gets fed up. She tells the Padre to just forget it. Mari isn't even her daughter. She just took advantage of the misunderstanding. She had a boy and frankly, she doesn't give a hoody-doody about the child. She doesn't know if he's alive or dead. Of course, this sends the Padre's heart into cardiac arrest. She grabs the call button and withholds it from him while he begs for help. She asks him to shut up and die. Finally a nurse enters and Sonia cries for help. Later in the waiting area she prays that the padre die since it will solve all her problems and she won't have to worry about Fab finding out. Cold-hearted beach.(Does she know Cuca knows? Watch out Cuca!)
- Tita reveals to Osvi that Sonia is Mari's mom. Osvi says they need more proof than just conjecture and speculation.
- Gil really is kind of an ass to Dan during the episode, but he is truly affected by the Padre's death. He says a beautiful farewell to his only friend and gives him one final salute (It really is a great scene.)
- Ara tells Este that Dafne always loved him. Dafne gets mad at Aranza about it as she feels it was her confession to make when she was ready.
- Este talks to Andrea about his woes and they talk about GMeanie. Andrea asks Este to help GMeanie and be there for her.
- Agatha and GMeanie have a scene.
- Dante overhears Art and Isa talking about the Padre's velorio and reports the info to Gonzo. The gang plans to rob Tita while she's at the velorio.
- Borlas feels guilty about calling CPS.
- Sonia's friend is as smart as a whip. She totally called Sonia on her BS padre story and knew Sonia purposefully upset him.
- Sonia is going to bring Fab to the velorio and play up the "unhappy childhood" story (I wouldn't do that in front of Gil, chica.)

Good recap! Lol'd when Sonia was appalled at Favier killing his own blood when she killed her cousin (possibly her daughter?? who knows) and several others. Girl, please. Arturo, you can't keep a secret to save your life, can you? Wasn't surprised that Sonia finally offed the Padre, took her long enough. Weird how both the priest in this novela and the one in La Impostura get killed in the past few days. Especially when killing priests has always been a line that novelas don't cross that often. And Arturo's PI,*sign*. Sometimes I don't think you even try Art. You're lucky you're a sweetheart.

It annoys me that I can't trust TV Guide's website about time changes for these networks.
While I don't currently have a practical reason for this time change to annoy me it does bug me on philosophical grounds. This series is meant for prime time.

1. When did we first hear that Almudena couldn't have children of her own? Was that something she and Bruno knew before marrying?
2. How is everyone so sure that Nicolás is guilty of the charges against him? Did he confess?

CD yes, I think Maricela fits in with one of the kiddies somehow and possible Mari is hers. Question is could Fernando also be the father? Who is really the bio dad of The Duck? Esteban, Angel, Mari and Borlas siblings via our Tom Cat Fernando?
Linda, I am hoping someone will answer your question about Nicolas. My recollection is that he didn't confess to killing his wife but didn't deny it. I am likey wrong as there seemed to be no doubt of his guilt due to the reactions of Art, Isa and of course Gaby.

I think the assumption of Nicks guilt was innocuously fueled by Bruno because I don't recall an admission however the popo did have a strong case.
Don't recall any earlier conversation either about Ally being barren but maybe that was in an edit.
I don't understand why they are keeping Gabi's pregnancy from Bruno the train wreak; OK I lied. Art and Isabel know he will throw Ally away and himself at Gabi's feet and beg to raise the baby together. I'm sure Bruno will get Tita to explain it all to Ally and perhaps become a nun.

Ally had not lived in Mexico, she had quite an adjustment at first to the food when she moved with Bruno and I think that a stretch that Mari her child.
There has always been something kinda off about Maricela and possible she dropped a child off at the parish orphanage. Just wonder who could be the baby daddy. Could Art have cheated on Eugenia? Maybe she succumbed to the charm of the resident stud muffin Fernando?

Just home from being out all day, and about to go out again, but had to drop a few aswers to some of the questions. Many of these things were victims of the editing of double episodes.
In the episode(s) when Gabi and Bruno went to Spain, Uni only showed one conversation between Gabi and Nick. In the first conversation he denied denied. We saw that one. Then, Gabi and Bruno got the REAL info from the police with the damning evidence of Nick's guilt. Gabi went back to confront him with that info and he couldn't deny (although not openly admitting) that he killed his wife and tried to get the insurance money.

I had sent four blistering emails to Univision about Por Siempre Mi Amor's time change. I didn't use any profanity but---well I will just say that they all were VERY STRONGLY worded and unpleasant to say the least. Others had said that they had sent emails to Uni as well and still others said that they were going to send them. Friday night I thought that our effort had paid off as I saw the advertisement that said Por Siempre esta Lunes. I thought that it said 8:00 PM.
I just checked the TV Guide online
for Monday, this is what I found.

My TV Weekly lists the schedule exactly the same as it has been, but with the new show at 7. All the other shows are listed at the regular times.

Perhaps all of our complaints worked! Both my dvr guide and the zap it tv listings are now showing Por Siempre staying in the 8pm slot. Thank you Uni!
I just finsihed watching the Thursday episodes. A few thoughts before I watch Friday's:
- I really liked the mother/son, mother/daughter chats between Andy/Este and Isa/Ara.
- It was interesting that Isa suggested that Fernando and Javier could be related/family. She seems to be getting closer to doubting that Fer is dead.
- I laughed seeing Meanie back in her old vecnidad apt and strolling around without her cane and limp.
- That Dafne is GOOD! She totally turned that situation around on Ara and made Ara feel bad for her. I'm glad Ileana isn't buying it for one second.

After watching this episode, I don't think there is any way to know for sure if Mari is or isn't Sonia's child, or if what Sonia told the Padre about having a boy is true. She lies SO MUCH, and tells different stories to different people, that there is just no way of knowing. Titi needs to stage a cat fight with her, yank out a bunch of her hairs at the root, and then have them DNA tested against Mari's hairs-- secretly, of course.
Although horrible to watch, Sonia's scene taunting the Padre into a fatal heart attack was well played and acted-- "Shut up and die, already!" Same with Gil's final farewell to the Padre.
Fer's "He's not my son, he's my rival", was chilling.

Madelaine noted that UNI is now showing DA at 11:00 a.m. and PSMA staying at 8:00. I checked my listings (which had changed from yesterday) and she is right.

Vivi, after reading your comments, I am more confused than ever about who Mari's mother is. You made excellent points - I guess all will be revealed in time.

Diana- Yes. Just last week my dvr schedule and zap it (very reliable) were showing the change to 11am, and of course, the promos were doing the same. Uni seems to have made the decision to leave the schedule alone very quickly just at the end of the week. First logical thing they have done in a long time!
Back to the episode-- I really like how Dan isn't buying Sonia's bs at all. Now that he has had to leave with just the clothes off his back, does that mean he'll be like MA over on Pobres-- in the same suit for weeks on end? Let's hope Bruno loans him some clothes. :)

I take issue with Ileana on one point about The Duck and the play for Esteban. The Duck did encourage ABrat to consider an older man but it didn't take much. ABrat swooned from the start over Fernando and dumped Esteban quickly. Ileana suggested it happened because The Duck wanted her away from Esteban and the poor hapless naive ABrat fell for it. I'm in agreement that The Duck wanted it to happen but I agree for once with ABrat it was her decision to dump him for Javier alone.
I still don't think ABrat would be giving Esteban a second thought had The Duck not moved in on him. The entitled princess believes everyone and everything is for her amusement and how dare a friend play with one of her toys, even one that she threw in the trash. I also think one reason she returned home was The Duck had made herself way too comfortable.
What's more troubling is her passive aggressive "friendly" concern with Esteban. The effort to pull him back into her orbit and away from The Duck is going to get him killed. Yes, Fernando has a score to settle with Andy, however his ire is toward his son whom he sees as a threat to his manhood. Our narcissistic princess will still get a pass when Esteban gets his and everyone will feel sorry for her. Oh, if Sonia hadn't introduced her to Fernando or The Duck hadn't pushed she'd still be a virgin.

As wicked as Sonia is I love it when she is on screen. Dominika Paleta can convey multiple emotions with a facial expression concurrently. For me the two best scenes in the TN so far; Isabel walking up the stairs after losing her child and Sonia taunting the Padre Friday evening.
Vivi, I think Dan is smart, astute and will do just fine on his own. Agree that it's heartening to see Dan at least, is not fooled by Sonia. Her pushing the Gil/Mari meeting way too soon was not lost on him. Again, I shudder at the devastating pain that will be caused once everything Sonia has done is revealed.
Stubborn Gil will come to his senses, but let's hope it happens before too big a chism is formed...

great analysis---Diana too. Yes, I agree that if Este had transferred to another college somewhere, it would have been [out of sight out of mind] with maybe a lingering memory once in a while but since Ara sees him often and especially with the duck, well that has really got het to question her move. As much as we dislike the Duck, we can at least thank her for moving in on Este which has caused Aranza to really think about her situation which she would not have otherwise
I have never liked the bad guy/girl. I guess that developed in me a long time ago watching black and white westerns---you know when the greedy villain was
buying up all the ranches thru some dishonest scheme and kicking the good people off their land even when they had nowhere to go.
The bad guy really made an impression on me during my early years and I grew to hate it whenever the bad guy would ride into town. Well---today it's Sonia
and I have to say that I really like Dominika Paleta. Like Tofie says, her acting is so good that I find myself really liking her even though she's the villainess.
does that make me a bad person? I hope not. I just can't get past her superb acting, she's magnificent. If in the past if someone had asked me do you like the bad guy? I would have answered

great analysis---Diana too. Yes, I agree that if Este had transferred to another college somewhere, it would have been [out of sight out of mind] with maybe a lingering memory once in a while but since Ara sees him often and especially with the duck, well that has really got het to question her move. As much as we dislike the Duck, we can at least thank her for moving in on Este which has caused Aranza to really think about her situation which she would not have otherwise
I have never liked the bad guy/girl. I guess that developed in me a long time ago watching black and white westerns---you know when the greedy villain was
buying up all the ranches thru some dishonest scheme and kicking the good people off their land even when they had nowhere to go.
The bad guy really made an impression on me during my early years and I grew to hate it whenever the bad guy would ride into town. Well---today it's Sonia
and I have to say that I really like Dominika Paleta. Like Tofie says, her acting is so good that I find myself really liking her even though she's the villainess.
does that make me a bad person? I hope not. I just can't get past her superb acting, she's magnificent. If in the past if someone had asked me do you like the bad guy? I would have answered

"Magnificent" is the perfect word gringo. She is (outwardly) mostly sweet - few see underneath the carefully crafted verneer to see the hate and vengence and almost as evil, grave indifference in her heart.

Vivi, you are a godsend! Thanks so much for answering both of my questions. I feel a little better knowing that I was confused due to scenes that were cut from our broadcasts. I try to pay close attention (since I'm studying Spanish), so I worry when I seem to miss important plot points. Thanks for filling in the gaps!
Vivi, you give good reasons for us to doubt Sonia's story. The only reason why I want to be believe this story is b/c of Dan and Mari. Also unlike the couple from "Mañana es para siempre" affectionately know as Sniffles and Curls, who were first cousins, their relationship is closer and I don't think the show's producers want to go there, incest. In fact during MEPS we had a lengthy discussion about cousins marrying and I believe it was stated it was legal in Mexico. In that storyline, the cousins never knew one another, meet later, and didn't find out until they had fallen in love.
Now that their (Dan and Mari's) kiss is part of the opening credits, while the writers could still go the incest route but I don't think so.

Karen- I also feel that because the writers have made us so invested in Mari and Dan's happiness, they will make someone else Sonia's kid. It would just be too painful at this point if they turn out to be uncle and niece. It would be quite a learning moment for Gil, however!

Vivi, were you the one who mentioned the Mari character was only supposed to be on for a few episodes and due to her popularity with the audience, the producers kept her on or was it Jarocha? If that is the case, the audience will want Mari with Dan. The reveal related to Dan & Mari might cause Gil's head to explode and would definitely cause him to hopefully re-evaluate his life.

True Sonia believes her own lies and cannot hang your hat on anything that comes out of her mouth. She told the Padre that going along with Mari as her child was just keeping an option open she might be able to exploit. She wants Gils money, Fab/Raisin's/Osvi's money and position. To get Gils she has to discredit Dan which she gets an assist already. If Mari really was her child Gil would be putty in her hands and with Fab could have spun it along with a rape to her advantage.
