Caray, Caray!

As the Great Winter of 2014 drags on I hope this may lift the spirits of the Winter Weary:

It seems that at last Univision has stopped cutting and combining episodes! This was a full episode with no deleted scenes.

Friday's Leftovers:
Tita and Osvi and Fabricio and Sonia are invited to dinner at Arturo's. Mari tries to break things off with Dan.

Today's Entree:
Daniel doesn't want to lose Mari. He can't believe she wants to call it quits at the first problem. Mari doesn't think a father and son falling out is a small problem, plus she's scared of Gilberto. On top of this Mari thinks there's a chance that Gil may decide to disown Dan because of her. Dan doesn't think that will happen and if it does, he'll teach English for a living. He asks Mari to give it time because he's sure his father will come around. Dan is in love with her. He'd do anything for her. They kiss.

Ozvi visits Fabrico at his office. Osvi is pleased that his sons are getting along so well. He wants to know if Fabricio has decided about taking the de la Riva name? Fab still isn't sure it's necessary since he already has a last name. Osvi wants to make amends for past mistakes. It was destiny that brought them together and the de la Riva name is his birthright. Osvi says, "You don't have to do anything you don't want to." Fabricio finally agrees and calls Oz "papa". Ozvi looks very pleased. Now all he needs is a big hug from his younger son. They embrace.

At the hospital, Ileana is watching over the Padre from the hall. She prays for his quick recovery. Chris comes to check on the Padre. He had no idea the Padre was so sick. Ileana says it was a surprise to everyone. Chris asks if they can talk in the cafeteria.

Bruno and Arturo are talking about Javier at the office. Bruno can't believe that Javier is some kind of "model man". Arturo isn't buying it either, but so far nobody has had a bad word to say about Javier. Bruno gets angry, "The guy is twice your daughter's age! All these coincidences! Please!" Bruno urges Arturo to hire a professional investigator; after all look what happened with Nicholas. We all thought he was a great guy and he turned out to be a murderer! What if this Javier is some kind of weirdo? Art doesn't even want to think about that because Art is an imbecile.

Arturo gets a call from Javier's former employer. They have no information on Javier Castillo. It seems his personnel file disappeared right after he left the company. Arturo hangs up and tells Bruno who stresses it yet again, "Arturo, Hire. A. Professional. What if this guy is some kind of gold digger?" Arturo still seems reluctant and changes the subject. Are Bruno and Ally coming to dinner to meet Fabricio? Bruno says yes, he wants to meet Fabricio, but he really doesn't want to see Sonia.

Gabi tells Isabel "The only person who caused you as much trouble as your ex is Sonia." Gabi doesn't like Sonia at all and thinks she's up to something. Sonia is two-faced and hasn't changed because of love. Gabi asks Isabel to at least warn Fabricio about the type of person that Sonia is. Isa protests that Fabricio is a good influence, his love has changed Sonia! Isabel has to give Sonia another chance because Isabel, like Art, is an imbecile.

Lucha and Gabino are in the kitchen working on preparations for the family gathering. Aranza comes in and asks what's going on. Lucha tells her about the dinner with her new uncle and her grandparents. Aranza decides since it's a family dinner Javier needs to come and phones him. Lucha rolls her eyes.

Javier makes a call to one of the real Javier Castillo's former employers. He pretends to be checking references. He leans that Fabricio has also been investigating Javier Castillo's background. After he hangs up he laughs about how Fabricio won't find anything. Aranza calls. "We've been invited where? A family dinner?" Of course he'll come! He grins again, "Bein, Fernando. Bien. Another great opportunity to meet the parents, the uncle and the grandparents!"

Isabel phones Sonia to invite her to dinner with Fabricio. Sonia tells Isabel, "I owe you for this. I want to show you that I'm a new person." Then she adds, "Let's just forget about the past and don't say anything about anything to Fabricio. Okay?"

Meanie's been gambling and losing. She's thoroughly pithed at her luck because she has just a few chips left. Gisele tells her to calm down. Meanie reaches into her wallet for money to buy more chips. The casino's new waiter Borlas, is secretly taking pictures of her with his smartphone.

Fabricio and Sonia arrive at Arturo's. They are greeted by Lucha. Sonia thought bubbles, "Finally back in Arturo's house. And through the front door like I always wanted." Bruno and Ally arrive and introduce themselves. Bruno tells Fabricio that he's really glad that he and Arturo have hit it off. Isa and Art finally come downstairs. Sonia thinks "Who would have thought that I would end up with Arturo's brother?" as she puts on a big show of affection for Fabricio. Bruno shakes his head in disbelief.

The Child Protective Services guy comes to Tita's house because his office got an anonymous call and it's his job to check it out. Zenaida does her best to keep him out of the house with small talk and nonsense. "I'm not the Senora, I'm a senorita. I'm not married, I'm single. Well, it makes a difference to ME! No, there are no kids living here and we didn't kidnap any either! No you can't talk to the Senora because the Senora's not home. Who knows when she'll be back? She comes and goes as she pleases!" Inside, the kids start making noise and Zenaida slams the door shut in the guy's face. She leans against the door in a panic. Now what is she going to do?

Isabel greets Tita and Ozvi as they arrive. Ozvi introduces Tita to Fabricio. "You look like your mother, but you are as handsome as my Osvi!" Everyone is happy and smiling until Fabricio introduces Sonia as his novio. Uh-oh. A sudden chill takes over the room. After giving Sonia a quick, "How's it going?" Tita and Osvi move off. Tita whispers through clenched teeth, "That woman is your son's girlfriend?"

Meanwhile in the kitchen, Lucha and Gabino are talking about what a big surprise it isn't that Sonia ended up as the novio of Arturo's younger brother. Does Fabricio know anything about her? Lucha gets wound up and really animated and loud. Gabino tries to shush her.

Tita is upset by Fabricio and Sonia's relationship. "Can you believe what a small world it is, that you run into the same things over and over?" Bruno and Art enter with drinks. Unfortunately, now Tita's got a stomach ache. The thought of Sonia wrapping her coils around Fabricio is making her ill. Fabricio seems to have caught the drift that Osvi and Tita don't like his girlfriend and he asks Sonia about it. She says she'll explain things later. Ozvi takes Tita aside. He doesn't want his relationship with Fabricio to hit the skids over Sonia so he asks Tita to grin and bear it. "Okay. Okay," she replies as Sonia looks out of the corner of her eyes at them.

Dan, Mari and Zenaida try to figure out what to do with the kids as the CPS guy keeps ringing and ringing and ringing the doorbell. Pimienta thinks the best thing to do would be to hide them all.

Fabricio is introduced to Aranza's best friend Dafne who tells him that she and Aranza are practically sisters. Tita and Ozvi ask if Aranza is even coming to the party. Ozvi announces that Fabricio has taken the de la Riva name and as soon as things are legal Fab will be one of the heirs to Ozvi's fortune. Dafne perks up and suddenly seems interested in Fabricio. Sonia is soooo happy that Fab is now a de la Riva that we can almost see the $$$ ka-ching-ing in her eyes. The path is straight and now there are only three little speedbumps on the highway to Sonia's Pot of Gold: Arturo, Tita and Fabricio!

In Sonia and Feo's world every speedbump covers a body.

Aranza finally arrives with Javier who has brought along a single bottle of wine for eight people! They make boxes of wine for crowds now, but I guess that innovation went unnoticed during Javier's 10 years in the pen.

Tita and Ozvi aren't at all pleased to meet Aranza's weird, creepy, old stalker boyfriend. They certainly don't like the fact that he practically kidnapped their granddaughter. He's an older man and should know better. "You should know enough to respect the rules of this house. A man with good intentions doesn't take a young woman away from her family!" Everyone in the room looks around awkwardly. But nothing phases Mr. Smooth. Javier assures Tita and Osvi that they've got the wrong idea about him. I'd say they're dead on and the first people on this show who demonstrate their brains actually work. Osvi tells Javier that Aranza is his greatest treasure and warns Javier he'd better watch his step. Maybe Osvi's the one who will finally hire an investigator.

Dan tells the CPS guy that the noisy kids he heard were just the kids next door. The CPS guy just wants to do his job - which includes searching the whole house. Dan says, "You won't find any kids here" and lets him come in. Zenaida hides the kids in Tita's secret biker clothes closet and tells them to be quiet. After they calm down she leaves them in the closet and goes from room to room hiding kids things.

Javier claims that he adores Aranza. Aranza bitches that everyone should stop nagging Javier. I just want to slap this nitwit. Isabel tells Arturo he needs to introduce Aranza to her new uncle Fabricio. Sonia happily chirps that she's Fabricio's girlfriend. Aranza seems taken aback by this announcement. What? You don't think your tia loves this guy? Aranza says she's happy that Sonia has finally found someone good. Ally asks, "Why do you say that?"
"Because she was dating a jerk who wasn't good to her."

In the closet the kids get bored. They start looking for a window. The CPS guy is in Mari's room. He looks around and demands to know who Mari is. Zenaida says "she's my cousin." She warns him that Mari is sick and contagious. Mari gives a big sneeze to emphasize this. He leaves in a hurry.

At the hospital Chris tells Ileana that he's going to go to school in some other city. He can't handle seeing Esteban with Dafne.

Dante, a man of many talents - most of them illegal, seems to be working the party as the bartender. This must be why Art hasn't hired an investigator. He's still paying Dante and supporting Dafne. But I digress. Javier asks Dante for a "Cosmopolitan". Isabel is startled by the request. As they all sit down at the table Ally remarks that Javier will have to earn the family's trust. Ozvi makes a toast to his younger son Fabricio.

The CPS guy is in Tita's room. So far he's found no kids. He decides the anonymous call was a false alarm and is on the way out until he hears a noise from the closet.

Osvi and Tita announce their pending marriage. It won't be a big wedding, just something intimate with the family. Ally offers to organize and Dafne wants to help. Everyone raises their glasses and toasts. Sonia hopes that soon she and Fabricio will be getting married too. Tita says, "Well, you've always wanted to be Mrs.de la Riva." Fabricio asks, "What do you mean?" Tita smiles, "Didn't Sonia tell you that she was deeply in love with Arturo?"
