Por Siempre Mi Amor #71 3/14/14- Shut up, Ara.
Scenes are combined and condensed.
Part 1
Dafne tells Art and Isa that Ara is a hipócrita and that she wants Este AND Javier. Ara denies this and says she's not interested in Este. Dafne says Ara broke the rules first. She begs Art to let her explain and drags him away.
We are "treated" to a nano-snippet of Bruno and Ally. How is Bruno not ready? When they first met he wanted to have kids. dAlly has always wanted to be a mom and now they have this opportunity. Aaaand cut to Art and Dafne mid-sentence. Thanks for the crappy edit, Univision.
Then we get 10 minutes of "she said, she said"
Dafne and Art: Dafne just wanted to spend some time alone with Este since it's so uncomfortable with Ara and Javier always around. She swears she had no intention of any hanky panky. Ara is a beach and has been treating me like trash. She's wants to humiliate me. She bad mouths Ara and thinks Ara has forgotten everything Art taught her. Art is the best dad. She gloms all over Art. The sound of her voice makes me want to do violent things.
Isa and Ara: Dafne wants to sleep with Este and she's really pushing him. Isa wants to know why Ara is so worried about it? Ara says Este isn't in love with Dafne. Isa presses again "Why does is affect you so much?" Ara swears she's not in love with Este. Isa encourages her to forgive and forget and not throw away her friendship with Dafne. Art and Isa forgave all of Ara's bad behavior, didn't they?
Ara goes to apologize and instead overhears Dafne telling Art that he must feel terrible about what Ara did with Javier. Art agrees he's very disappointed. Dafne tells Art that she may not be his daughter, but she appreciates everything he's done for her and she'll do everything not to disappoint him.
Ara returns to her room and tells Isa it's not the time to apologize to Dafne. Isa encourages Ara to really think about things and if she has any doubts about Javier or any lingering feelings about Este, break up with Javier.
Arturo thinks Dafne should rest and she and Ara can fix things in the morning. Dafne tries to clarify again that she had no dirty intentions with Este, but Art interrupts to tell her she is a great girl. Dafne gloms some more.
Isa thinks Este's relationship with Dafne is affecting Ara more than Ara even realizes. Art wonders what they can do, but Isa explains they can't do anything. Ara is the one that has to figure out what she feels. Art wonders how it will affect Dafne if Ara decides she's still in love with Este. Ara broke up with Este and got with Javier. Ara needs to face the consequences of her actions. Dafne has the right to be with Este. Ara rejected him. He's clearly Team Duck.
Part II
The next morning, Dafne confronts Ara. It takes a zorra to call out a zorra. The claws come out meow, meow.
Ara: You're a fool to pressure him.
Dafne: You're a fool to let him go and too dumb to get him back. You're the ho. You slept with Javier and then went to live with him.
Ara: Javi and I did it cause we were in love. Javi does everything for me, which is not the case with you and Este.
Dafne: And you think you're the only one that can awaken Este's love? Why do you think you're so superior? Este wants me. We were just about to...
Ara: Shut it.
Dafne: You're lucky I didn't tell Javi you showed up and were jealous. He was pretty pithed about being stood up. And if Este and I decide to do the horizontal mambo, it's our business and no one else's.
I loathe both of these twits.
Isa is still worried about the fight between the two girls. Art takes Dafne's side since she's always followed the house rules. Isa thinks Ara is truly concerned for Dafne and Art is convinced that Ara just doesn't want to see Dafne happy. Isa thinks if Ara still feels something for Este and he isn't completely sold on Dafne, maybe she'll break up with Javier. Art thinks that it's still a long shot they will get back together. Besides, Dafne is in love with Este and Ara has to face the consequences of her actions. He wants the best for Ara, but they can't protect her from her decisions. Isa starts to suggest that Dafne leave. Art cuts her off. He won't allow that. Dafne has come to be like a member of the family; like another daughter. She has nowhere to go. He's sorry the girls are fighting, but Dafne has always behaved. *snort cum eye-roll*
Dafne comes in and apologizes for last night's argument. She promises it won't happen again. Art thinks that apology proves that Dafne is better than Ara.
Finally!! We leave that story line and move on to something else.
Dan thanks Ileana for the loan and promises he'll pay her back. He's going to give English classes. She goes to look for clothes for him. They say good bye.
Dan asks Agata if maybe she has a place for him to rent. She says yes, but can't believe it's for him.
Durn. Back to the Duck. She's ripping into Javi about his jealous girlfriend. She *told* him Ara still had feelings for Este. Now get you woman under control. Javier isn't going to do squat. Ara swore to him that she and Este are just friends. Dafne thinks she's lying and Javier should marry Ara. Javier scoffs at that since Art and Isa would never allow it. He's worked to hard to gain their trust and he's not throwing it way on some impulsive act. No, Dafne needs to get her slutty butt in gear and do whatever necessary to get it on with Este. He even offers to loan her a house for a weekend. It's near a water park. Dafne doesn't think Este will be too willing after her last trap. Javier suggests she use taking Angel to the water park as an excuse. She likes the idea.
Dan runs into Borlas. Borlas offers his place to Dan. The two can be roomies and share expenses. I'm glad they made up.
Art, Isa and Ara are eating breakfast. Art doesn't think it was a good idea for Ara to get between Dafne and Este since it was Ara that broke up with him. OMG, he natters on about consequences again. Then he yammers about Ara making the choice to be with Javier and how that means adios fun, parties and youthful stuff. Another fight about Javier ensues. Ara gets angry and says after all Javier did to win her parents' approval, Art still just cares about is Javier's age.
Part III
Art insists it's not just Javier's age. There is just something about the guy he doesn't like. Isa admits that she and Art aren't really sold on Javier. Ara gets angry that they don't approve. Art says they don't approve, but they are respecting her decision just as she should respect what Dafne and Este have. Ara gets mad and flounces out. Ara monologues about what it means to be a parent.
Javier meets with the PI to go over his daily schedule so they can do whatever it is they are going to do that Uni cut out.
Dan and Borlas talk and Borlas tells Dan about his talk with Tita and the new leaf he is turning over. I like that Borlas is rejecting the dark side.
Bruno and Tita talk about Ally. She seems upset he hasn't talked to Ally. He feels guilty for dragging her to Mexico. Oh for cripes sake. This idiot is hoping that when they've got Chilaquiles with them in the house that the little bit of love he still has for Gaby will disappear and his love for Ally will grow. What.a.coward. Tita hopes so, but love doesn't depend on some third person (like a child), but rather on our own selves. It's got to grow in your heart. And the Bruno/Gaby waltz plays on.
At Casa Arte Javier is working on the computer and Gaby works on Javier. He finishes and excuses himself. He leaves his phone. When he comes back to retrieve it, he overhears Gaby and Isa talking about the plan to show him for the womanizer he is. Busted. Yay. More ammo for the slimeball. He bumps into Tere and asks her to bring him the phone. Gaby brings it out and says she put her contact info in there. After she leaves, Javier twirls his mustache and wonders who will come out the winner.
Gonzo tells Este he's the best employee in the company. Dafne calls and suggests the trip with Angel. Este is hesitant and suspicious. Dafne pushes and he caves and says he will check with his parents.
Part IV
When did Andrea get bangs? Clearly I'm not watching enough. Anyhoo...Mau and Andy are a little unsure about a weekend excursion, but Angel begs and promises to do well on a math test. They say yes.
Isa is at Dr. Ex's office getting blood drawn. She invites Marcela to dinner at the house. Marcela accepts. C'mon, Isa! How are you so naive?
A scene Uni had to leave in so another scene would make sense. Javier and Ara are at a restaurant and the PI walks in. Javi excuses himself to to to the restroom and the PI follows.
Marcela is dressed just like Lucha and Gabino. The talk about Ara and being parents. Marcela says she never had the pleasure of meeting the right guy and having kids, but her mother was wonderful. Art remembers his almost suegra fondly. Isa thinks it's not too late for Marcela to find the right guy. Marcela says she's dedicated to her work and Art swoons about her being recently named one of the top Docs in the DF. Isa looks worried.
Meanwhile, PI has arrived and Ara spots him and flashes back to the lunch scene. She is suspicious.
The PI explains that he hasn't found anything suspicious about Javier when Ara bursts and and confronts Art.
Ara is angry that Art still doesn't trust Javier and that Art has been lying to her. She believed that he had accepted her relationship with Javier. She calls him a liar and tries to storm out but he stops her. He tells her to calm down. She can't calm down since he's treating Javier like a criminal. blah blah blah. Art says it's been hard for him to forgive her behavior. He wishes none of this had happened. Ara says they can't change what's already happened. Art hates that he can't change that she's broken his heart. Ara tells him to admit he doesn't love her as much as he used to. Art denies that and says he loves her no matter what she does, but he doesn't trust Javier. The PI may not have dug up any dirt on the dirtbag, but he still doesn't trust him.
Out of place scene where Gaby explains to Bruno why they really can't be friend.
Isa reminds Ara how much Javier seems of Fernando. Ara insists he's not the same person. He is someone completely different. They talk to Ara and try to dig a little deeper about how and where they met. Sonia's name does NOT come up. Art still thinks there's something shady. Ara is offended that Art thinks Javier may just be motivated by money. She asks if he wants her to sign a pre-nup or give up her inheritance. Ara thinks Javier has proven that he really loves her and not her money. Do they really place so little value on her. She hates that things have gotten so bad with them and that Art doesn't seem to feel the same way about her, but she doesn't regret anything she's done.

I can't believe how gullible Art is when it comes to Daphne. True Ara hasn't been the ideal daughter but I am shocked at how quickly Art sided with Daphne. When that anvil falls on Daphne, Art will have a boatload of crow to eat.
Speaking of gullible, really Isa, taking more tests with this vixen and then inviting her to the house for dinner. Its amazing that such a busy doctor is available for a last minute dinner date. I am more and more suspicious of Marisela each day. She really creeps me out.
I can't believe how gullible Art is when it comes to Daphne. True Ara hasn't been the ideal daughter but I am shocked at how quickly Art sided with Daphne. When that anvil falls on Daphne, Art will have a boatload of crow to eat.
Speaking of gullible, really Isa, taking more tests with this vixen and then inviting her to the house for dinner. Its amazing that such a busy doctor is available for a last minute dinner date. I am more and more suspicious of Marisela each day. She really creeps me out.
Sara- ITA- I'm not sure where Daphne is coming from, either daughter or lover. She sends mixed messages at times.
Sara, I laughed at the title and found that I totally agree. Sigh.
This was fantastic. Honest, insightful and great fun to read. "*snort cum eye-roll**" and "Javier is working on the computer and Gaby works on Javier" were excellent. Also enjoyed "OMG, he natters on about consequences again. Then he yammers about Ara making the choice to be with Javier and how that means adios fun, parties and youthful stuff."
Art is just painfully annoying at this point. I'm usually able to ignore him but he was grated on my nerves this evening. Frankly I see him as a secondary character as others are so much more interesting.
So frustrating that Isa keeps hitting the nail on the head that Javier is indeed Feo. But with the "fact" Feo is dead constantly being hammered home by Art, she just doesn't realize there may be a possibility his death was faked. She's noticed all the similarities between the two but just hasn's gotten to that all important reveal.
What was the most frustrating moment of the night? The PI being busted by Ara or Feo's yet again omnipresence overhearing Gabi's scheme to trap him? I just wanted to scream.
And Sara, I am also afraid for Isa as to what the test results will reveal. I also think Daf would throw herself at Art if it at all worked to her advantage. And yes Cassandra, Art is being totally naieve where Daf is concerned.

This entire episode annoyed the stew out of me. So much yelling and arguing and very little plot movement IMO.

It annoyed me too but not for the arguing. I thought it high time someone call ABrat out and it took The Duck to do it. Though she is manipulative, always coveted ABrats life, she is correct ABrat thinks she is better than everyone, doesn't appreciate anything and has always been given a pass.
I don't like Art comparing The Duck to his daughter and should just send the girl home however it pleased me he finally told ABrat of his disappointment. It is a little late though to start talking about consequences when he removed the word from ABrat's lexicon.
Isabel has more tact (pushover) in handling ABrat, however, it angers me she wants to use Esteban as a pawn in her effort to get ABrat away from Javier. Gringo, I'm with you on The Duck. She had a smart mouth when she was a kid, was a bully, bad mouthed her friends and parents, does want to live like a princess (what girl doesn't) and wants to seal the deal with a guy she has crushed on since she was 9. Bratty behavior as a kid, yes, but as a young adult the girl didn't try any moves on the Esteban until he was unceremoniously dumped and Aranza consummated her relationship with Javier and didn't really play house princess until Aranza moved in with the guy. Because of her friendship with ABrat and the fact Esteban cared for ABrat she drove her feelings so deep everyone is shocked. The girl actually apologized to Art and Isabel for her part in a fuss that disrupted the house. You could see a dumfounded look on Arts face because he never heard something like that from his own child. Who cares if she wants to get points for that, she did it. I don't like that she is living with them and should return home nor do I think it cool for her to be working with Aranzas bf to bag the big one but that's because it's Javier and understand why the both are doing it.
I give her my "Blurt Out The Truth award last night, and so far other than Tita no one really likes the truth, way to inconvenient.

Dafne has played everyone perfectly. Everyone - including Javier. She always wanted Esteban and always talked trash about him so no one would suspect (not to respect Ara's relationship). She always talked trash to Ara about Isabel to ruin their relationship, while she acted like the perfect child/teen/young adult in Isabel's presence, thus separating (step)mother and daughter long enough to insert herself into the relationship. She always told Ara how her father didn't respect her feelings and that he had traded his love for Ara for that of Isa, while being the perfect "daughter" to Art and feeding him all those little jabs against Aranza and what an ungrateful daughter she is. She talked up Javier and made him seem like the best catch in the world so that Ara would fall for him and drop Esteban. It worked. She always talks to Esteban about how Ara doesn't love him anymore while doing everything to be the perfect girlfriend to him. She even has brainy Ileana telling Ara she needs to respect her (Dafne) relationship with Esteban, since she (Ara) was the one that dumped him. She is perfectly feeding Javier the info that Ara still loves Esteban and even though he (Javier) is not in love with Ara, it's a matter of pride and ego that his own son may take his woman away. Yes, this sneaky, slimy, "best friend/perfect daughter/good girlfriend/honest friend" is playing her cards just right. Wonder what it will take for her house of cards to come tumbling down?

I still say the ratings for CI were not the usual for that time slot and it isn't reasonable to expect those kind of numbers as some sort of norm.
So they cut this one and seemed like they were adding to CI. There was a weeks worth about a burro and it's journey to Mexico.

Thanks for the recap Sara and yes its not clear what Dafne wants except its everything that Ara has. She IS the tn latina version of SWF.
Interesting comments but I don't buy that Dafne has always been in love w/Bonbon. She has wanted Ara's life since they were children. Bonbon is part of that package but I think Daf would drop him quickly if something better came along.

Fernando keeps winning not because he has superpowers but his prey just stupid.
What is wearing me down is how silly and dimwitted everyone continues to be. I want to hurl when I see Art, Bruno or Aranza in a scene. Hell we even had an orphan raffle, who comes up with an orphan raffle? An ex girlfriend ladyparts doctor for Isabel. Oh yeah great idea and lets invite her for supper too. Marcela does seem deranged, and I wonder if she's lying to Isabel about the test results.
It's interesting that Dan is thinking of teaching English. This could be the start of Sonia's downfall since she lied to Fab about being an English teacher.
I'm looking forward to seeing how this all unfolds.

Sorry to be MIA this weekend, but it was beautiful and I spent most of it out and about. But today is another snow day, so I finally have the chance to catch up on Caray and on the shows.
Excellent recap, amiga. I'm glad Borlas and Dan are living together. I think it will be good for Borlas. The rest of the episode was a downer with the victories Dafne and Feo were having. At least Ara now knows Dafne's true colors.
