Rafa...you almost got found out. Behave yourself or your new "daddy" might take his money away. He really should. Adriano has got to be the most lied to, tricked, beat up guy ever, and this is the stuff he knows about, wait till he finds out the things he doesn't know that have been done to him.

Cat-you knew before you said acepto that the marriage wasn't right. Now you say it?

Sofia-you are so pretty. You DO know how to wrap daddy around your fingers. It's OK. You are usually right. Coffee and bread for a growing girl for breakfast. I agree. Not so good. Yech!

Domingo-I love it when you told Socorro not to tell you what she found out, the look on your face when she told you anyway. Then the look on your face when you found the ring of diamonds. I like you, even if your sense of makeup for an impostor is no different than the non-impostors.

Ramon-how did you get drunk so quickly? At least you made Eduardo think.

Jorge-you have backbone.
 

This story is so much better without Blanca/Vicki walking around. Lisette has found her niche as an actress let her stay right there.

Cat - smiles and kisses and frowns, oh my. you don't love Ramon just jealous of Mariana

The picked fight between Chris and Ramon was silly and to what purpose.

Why does the home team decide to keep secrets from Adriano but run their mouth to everyone else because it gets them shot, kidnapped or killed?
 

Tofie--You always come forth with the best one-liners and cover everything that needs to be divulged.

I also thought Cris' rumble was uncalled for. I guess that it was to remind us that this is going to be an unhappy marriage. For a minute there it seemed as though they were getting along pretty well sitting at the table.

Wasn't Ed & Mar's dance a little precipitated? Isn't it usually the bride and groom that do the first dance? Maybe that would have been the ideal place for the bloody chins to happen. (I complained on the Weekend Discussion page that no matter how hard someone gets hit in the face, there is usually a trickle of blood for us to see--so we will believe it was a real punch, I guess.)

They sure waited long enough for us to find out Socorro knew Leticia. It was so easy for her to find Letty. How come it took Fernanda digging in dusty old archives to come up with the same info. Fer must be technologically impaired.

But then, wouldn't Raq be able to see the same information? She took a risk pretending that her houseguest was Leticia, daughter of Melania, when she knew Letty was in prison.

One of you last week mentioned that Raq came to visit Ramon with an ulterior motive--to get something to use for that faked DNA test. Great clue. I like it if it weren't that I don't like Ramon all that much, especially drunk.

Tofie--Too bad Blanca wakes up tonight. Maybe it'll be at the end of the episode. I worried about that ring, Cracker Jack model or not. Don't they take jewelry off patients in hospitals? Especially comatose ones.

Eddie--You could have waited.

I do love the coming attractions, as hackneyed as the use of amnesia is.

Unless Jorge knows all about breasts enlarging during pregnancy, he's going to wonder how they could have grown from 30AA to 32DDDD overnight. Ay, Jorge, I hope you don't have to suffer this little tart much longer.

 

If Simona wants the rest of her money she just needs to drop the pregnancy scam and just tell Raquel she took care of it. She'll not have Jorge but his life is taking a different path unless he ends up with the town tart, Karina.
 

Didn't we catch Raquel telling Simona that she wanted proof the matter was "taken care" of? Perhaps it just means peeing on a stick again after a discreet amount of time has passed.

Half a million in the hand right now is better than later having to ask Jorge for a weekly allowance, I guess.
 

Simona can pee on a stick till the cows come home and never produce a baby of Jorges so she wins everything and loses nothing. The look on her face when Raquel gave her money to terminate a pregnancy that didn't exist was priceless. I suspect she'll work her way through all the men of the jet set with this scam.

Finally, someone made mention that Fernanda is missing. If it were not for Fernanda Socorro would have not known to look for Leticia elsewhere. Interesting how Leticia was made a zombie and now she can put make up on and rock in a chair. Who approved this? Surely not sister dearest. Since there has been no Fernanda for some time it is sad but she must have really died. Too bad. I did like her.

Clemente-you seem so nice. You are a coward. Willing to sacrifice someone else for the sake of Raquell and you skin when you know the real truth. Is it not bad enough that your daughter is in a hopeless marriage?

Was that real??? Richie being shot? Was that to show Raquel who she was dealing with? Sacrifice number one man? Ivan the terrible must really be sure Raquel is going to do business with him to sacrifice his henchman like that. He and Raquel are a perfect match.

Ed-This is rich, now you think Adriano is a murderer when it is your own mother. All of this could have been avoided if the priest had taken the recording to the police rather than go to your mother, who you suspected of terrible things at one time by the way, just to tell her she is a bad woman. She already knows that. Priest person did not need to tell her. You change sides quickly, though I agree the evidence, as far as you know it, is overwhelming.

Karina-Good for you to let Cat know she needs to let Ramone be, shame on you for taking credit for something you did not do.

Simona-You think you are rich but you are not rich by any means.


 

I can't believe I need to see this story until the end, only because I must know what happens. Like a book I dislike, but have to finish, or else the curiosity will haunt me long after I decided to discard the tale. My mother was watching this with me, and she was smart enough to walk away from it.

The acting is horrible. I don't buy this Blanca/Victoria character and her cara de babosa. Eduardo should have been played by someone less prissy looking. But I suppose that's the advantage of winning the birth lottery. He needs to close his mouth. I don't believe there's any passion between them.

Christian Bach's body language is so stiff. Her face is so expressionless, and that wig creeps me out.

How many months has it been and Jorge still hasn't seen this Victoria San Marino? She's been at the house a hundred times.

And why can't anybody tell each other vital information through the phone? Why do they always have to wait to do it face to face, but by then miscommunication, and interceptions mix up the facts, and someone gets whacked?

Who is dressing these chicks? The high/low trend is dated. And sometimes they all conveniently match colors, and garment details in one scene. Mariana needs to tone down the eye makeup.

Now that I got that out of my system, I hope Victoria/Blanca is faking the amnesia so that she can access private information in the home. Jorge is getting some balls in confronting his mom, and ultimately, I'd like for him to be the catalyst that brings down Raquel Altamira. But Mariana is about to find out the truth about Blanca's double identity thanks to that horrific little Hugo who has no acting skills whatsoever (who's kid is he? He did not get that part due to any talent).

Fernanda is probably not dead. Ramon and Catalina are a more interesting love story than the main protagonists. Adriano, for being such an alpha male, really gets dupped easily. Soon he will find out that Ramon is his real son (so damn obvious from episode five that he was it), and Valentina will come out of crazy town completely sane and cured. She's not insane, just severely depressed, and suffers from low self esteem.

Karina is starting to get on my nerves. It's like she can't be alone. I thought Jorge was crazy about her. That's another love story I don't buy into. He doesn't even look at her with admiration, or lust. She doesn't care who she ends up with, as long as someone wants her.

Rafael is an interesting role. He's selfish, and ambitious. I do buy his internal struggle with doing the right thing, and being self serving. We knew he was a dick from the beginning, and his consistent motivation makes him (for me), one of the few authentic characters out of the bunch. Anyway, I hope he gets killed.

I agree with Anon that Fernanda is still alive. Last seen, she was being taken off somewhere by Massage Guy?

I used to like Karina but now she is like Ms Dog-in-the-Manger: she can't have Jorge but she doesn't want anyone else to have him either. She has no rights to call the shots in his life.

Igualmente, Ed was overstepping his bounds refusing to let Peter take his "daughter" Victoria from the Altamira house.

Dang! I'm gonna miss Ritchie's beautiful eyelashes. I didn't catch what he did to tick off the big Jefe. Anyone?

Ivan killed Richie because he took it upon himself to introduce Rachel. Ivan said there were only 16 people in the world that even knew who he was and punished him for bringing in another.

Christiane Back is the most wooden actress I've seen on any TN. Her expression never changes, and that crummy wig is so distracting it's hard to concentrate on what she is saying.

Dodged the bullet on Mariana seeing a photo of Blanca, thanks to Rafa. That Mariana has a brilliant but evil mind and a much better villain, at least she shows some emotion to explain her actions.

Entire Ivan the terrible, Richie, Raquel event not written well. Richie brings Raquel into see him but did not Richie have to make the arrangements and get the approval? Wasn't Ivan wanting to use Raquels ships? He shoots Richie because Raquel has seen him? Then tells Raquell he doesn't want to do business with her? Then what was all that with Mariana about? With the exception of the man with the broom behind Raquel cleaning up the shooting mess left behind, that scene was just poorly written. Or maybe someone can clear this up for me.

Clemente-your spine comes and goes. With Cat you had a spine, then it disappears, then it comes back. Now sending Adriano to jail, first you have no spine, now you get one...after telling Eduardo Adriano killed Memo, then your spine grows back and you tell Raquell you can't do this. Can you tie it down somehow so you get to keep your spine for awhile?


This is my first TN in years so I am enjoying most of the cast and the story. I like the way Raquell is playing her cold hearted character. The only actress I do not like is Lissette. She needs to take acting lessons. Rafa, Adriano, Tita all of them I like their acting, and Tita's eyes when Rafa saved Mariana from seeing the real photo? I didn't know anyone could do that!
 

The Ivan thing was not written well but it sends her back to Mariana for help, which I thought she was going to do in the first place.

Clemente is like a ping pong ball and if he was serious why announce it to Raquel? He looked like a little boy when she rebuffed him. What did he expect her to say. Sure, good idea
 

Isn't anyone going to comment about hot totally hot Ivan Montenegro is? I raced to the computer to google Alfredo Pavón. He's Spanish, which I could tell from the accent. What a babe!

I'm surprised they didn't have Humberto Zurita to play Ivan Montenegro.

I had a feeling Blanca/Victoria was faking it. Every scene she's in is a dull one. Mariana, Fernanda, and Rafael are better investigators than she is.

Anybody notice that Raquel has a picture of herself in her office? That was a good laugh. And what exactly has she done for Clemente in the past that he's in such debt to her? At times, he gets all hoity toity, and insists that he's solidified in his resolution to bring her to justice. Why would he declare himself independent of her power, when one wave of her hand, and roll of her eyes, and we can see his balls shrivel up into his mouth? What's the point of those scenes? It's a waste of time. Just like it was a total waste to chase that recording that Tuerto left as evidence against Raquel. We went back and forth with that phone episode after episode, and in the end, it was destroyed.

Well, they've only delayed the reaction Mariana is about to have when she finds out Victoria is Blanca. She's the only one that has the upper hand with most of these people. She's been able to manipulate Victoria, Rafael, Simona, Raquel, Cristobal, Adriano etc. Now that she's going to know the truth, what cards will she deal Victoria/Blanca? The only thing Victoria/ Blanca has in her favor is this supposed amnesia.

Raquel and Mariana were both wearing red. Adriano, Rafael, and Eduardo were all wearing light lavender/blue easter colors.

Don Leonidas is practically nonexistent in the family. To tell you the truth, I don't think I saw him at Catalina and Cristobal's wedding. Melania has more influence on everybody in that house than he does.

It will serve Simona right if she does decide to get knocked up by someone, and she gets stuck with a kid in the end, and no money. By the way, none of them look alike. Simona, Blanca, and Hugo would never be mixed up for relatives. At least the Altamira brothers are light in color/hair. Nice casting job there.

So now where is the story headed? Mariana is going to threaten Blanca/Victoria. Rafael's pleads to Adriano will go nowhere especially now that Ferrer knows Blanca/Victoria has a new plan. And where the heck is Fernanda, can they address that already?

Most likely, Adriano will end up in jail because Clemente has no balls. Even though they already have evidence that Raquel was the one that administered the poison. I mean, who knows how long they can keep that on the down low. Is Clemente the entire group of detectives, forensic analysts, judge, and jury rolled into one? Isn't anybody else in on the fact that Raquel is a vicious killer?

Remember when she went to visit Valentina, and she says to the nurse, "oh hey, by the way, I need you to get me a poison potion thats going to kill someone in a jiffy".

"Uuumm.OK! Sure" says the nurse. Without question.

This show is bananas. But like a novela battered woman with nowhere else to go, I'll be back for more tomorrow.


 

Anonymous at 5:03 pm, your analyses are terrific. I 100% agree. I'm another battered wife who swore she'd quit this dog and start watching DVR'd episodes of Camelia la Texana. And I still haven't done it.

Christian Bach has zero acting range. It's also interesting to me that this novela, like La Patrona, also had written into it a hot sexual relationship with a younger man. She must have that in her contract.
 

Anon at 5:03--Excellent point about all the officials who know about the poison...and I believe it was slow acting poison, because Raquel went into Memo's room first to administer it, but the result is the same, one dead Memo and Adriano blamed. Someone else HAD to have reviewed the hospital tape before Clemente got it.

Somehow I'm not as worried about this phase as I am about the right-to-life message everyone around Simona (except for herself cause there's no bebe) is pressing on her. Raquel, the evil one is the one who wants to destroy life.

While normally, I would be with the folks who would be trying to talk her out of an abortion, Simona is too much in my face with her reasons why she should, parroting all the abortion-rights stand, making them sound so negative.

I hope I haven't offended anyone out there, but the way they have presented this phase of the story offends me.

 

Anita, I agree 100%. I'm pro-choice. I believe the logical thing for a 17 year old who's gotten pregnant (if she really were) by a man who doesn't love her at all would be to terminate.

But telenovelas made in the US are aimed mostly at native Spanish speaking immigrants who are either Catholic or evangelical. Both these groups are anti-abortion. So that is the party line on every telenovela I've ever seen.

Blanca in Pasion Prohibida had an abortion and fully recovered. But she was presented as a very ambivalent figure, married to a much older man. That's the only abortion I've ever seen portrayed where life went on fine afterwards.
 

I am thinking that Mariana made a recording of the recording Tuerto made. She always keeps her phone on the kitchen counter but when Richie asked her to give the recording to RaQuel it came from out of the bedroom. We never saw Raquel checking it either. She has given good advice to the other characters about survival it would seem like a natural thing for her to do. We never did see what happened to the phone the kids took (off of the kitchen counter) when they escaped to go to the wedding. By the time they were at the church neither one had a phone in their hand.

Anono I do wish wardrobe would stop putting these men in lavenders, I think one time, Eduardo was wearing green. Not attractive.

April--It was one of the Anons who commented on Ivan's hotness; but you certainly can add me to the list.

About Simona and her "pregnancy." They didn't need to make such a big point of her vocal desire to terminate the pregnancy (because she has to). She and her boobs are a total distraction.

They could have treated it as a side issue, but no, as another anon said, it has to be front and center, like the famous Tuerto cell phone confession that seems so important and then it just gets destroyed. I guess the writers needed a serious enough event to make Blanca leave the security of the Altamira household. We'll know in a few minutes how she manages to meet up with Eduardo.

 

OK, Blanca, you are one of the blandest, most expressionless, passionate-less heroines I've ever never wanted to root for.

Here's what I have against you on last night's episode.

1. You claim amnesia, live in the Altamira household to try and recover your memory...and won't let your supposed father help except to bring you a photo album.
2. You look at a photo album of the Altamira's, with whom you have NO past connection, to get in touch with Eddie's past, while asking Leo questions about Valentina's absence from the album. That question was asked and answered when you didn't have amnesia.
3. You talk Eddie into taking you to visit Leticia, with whom you have NO connection, only because you saw her briefly in the room you are now occupying, in order to help you recover your memory.
4. You leave the house (those security guards aren't earning their pay...the gardener should be promoted to head security guard) to go talk to Adriano for 3 minutes. YOU COULD HAVE CALLED HIM from your room or any empty space of the Altamira's lawn.
5. You have amnesia but you know where the river park is? If I'm in a new city, I might not even know if it even HAS a park OR a river and I don't have amnesia.

Geesh. These writers are so annoying.

 

Yup, this has gotten stupid and felt we had a brief reprieve when Vicki/Blanca was prone in the hospital. Now, oh god. I'm not a quitter but with improving weather hard to stay focused.

JnO. Mariana has seen a photo of Blanca but she went to Ramon and he had one. She then confronted her and Blanca told her the truth after Mariana threatened to show Ed. Don't know where this will lead yet because Ed came up and they shut the conversation down.

Blanca is trying to find out where Leticia is and guess she will try to go if and when she finds out. However Socorro is hell bent and closer, following Fernanda's lead and plans to follow Leo.

Jorge agreed to marry Simona but told her it for the child only but he cannot buy her a house or live with his mother as she wants.

There has been no more mention of paying off the orphanage debt by Raquel and she has all but cut Jorge out of the family so not sure if the offer still stands.
 

and JNO....Mariana went to Rafa's apartment and slapped him as hard as she could in a pretty green outfit. Rafa is real upset that Mariana knows Blanca is Victoria that he left a message on Adriano's phone. Eduardo was told by Raquell's lawyer that unless he gets married Spfia will belong to Mariana because the courts always side with the mother and he is single. He proposed to Blanca.

Loved, loved, loved the expression on Simona's face when Jorge told her he was likely going to be cut out of the will, they were not going to live in the mansion, and he'd better get busy finding a job (with few skills) so support "the three of them". I don't think this wedding is going to take place.
