De Que Te Quiero, Te Quiero #26- Mon 4/14

De que salió positivo, salió positivo

Tad has something medical going on that needs more testing.

Irene returns to the waiting room and signs the paperwork for Vicente's operation.  She and Alonso go to get something to drink, followed closely by Karina.  Diana is pissed that Diego doesn't seem to care how she's doing.  Well, you're not the one going in for surgery.  Plus, you did cause a scene earlier, so….

Irene runs into Tadeo, tells him about her dad, and almost gets away, but nooooo…Tad has to turn this into one more opportunity for a "talk."  Irene actually agrees, unfortunately leaving Alonso with la chismosa de Karina, who's just dying to know everything that has nothing to do with her.  She helpfully tells Diego that Irene went off with "a man her age," and then has the cheek to ask "So, who's this Tadeo Vargas, anyway?"  Diego tells her it's none of her business.

Irene and Tadeo have a coffee.  Tadeo brushes off his reason for being there with "Eh, you get to be a certain age and you just gotta make sure everything's working."  Right.  'Cause all the guys I know are SO good about routine preventive care.  Tadeo says all he wants at this point is for them to at least be able to say "hi" if they run into each other, maybe forget the past and start over.  He's noticed that Irene seems happier and he's guessing that has something to do with Alonso. He says it without any jealousy and Irene practically blushes, cause, yeah, she may be "of a certain age" but that just means she knows a fine specimen of man when she sees one.  I say that as a woman of a certain age.  We know quality.  Tad gives her his card and his digits and tells her to let him know if she needs anything.  Then he takes off.  And that's how The Tad Show ends for this season.  Next season will be all about Tad's mysterious health issues.

Alberto and Eleazar brought champagne over to the fonda to celebrate Louse's capture.  Carmen tells all the patrons that their meals are on the house.  She calls Natalia to give her the good news, but Natalia won't ditch work to come party.

Karina bugs Alonso about how long Irene's been gone.  I like that he sees right through her.  Irene comes back and even she is proud of herself for getting through it and being OK.  We're all proud of you too, Irene!

Carmen and Eleazar are alone at the fonda with the last of the champagne.  Well, almost alone.  Everybody keeps stopping at their table to say goodbye.  Just go, people!  They're out of champagne, and the bottle of white wine Carmen had stashed away turns out to be empty.  She thanks him for everything he did for her…says he's just soooo dreamy…and Natalia shows up to interrupt their potential smoochies.  Natalia, I could kick you right now!

Grumps made it out of surgery and will be going home tomorrow.  Diana says, "Great, let's get out of here then…this place makes me feel sick!"  Everyone but Karina stares at her.

Alberto drops four out of five Garcia siblings off at home…and asks Brigitte out for lunch tomorrow.  And gets all twitterpated when she kisses him on the cheek.  Dude!  She's in high school and you're a frickin' lawyer!  Think about it…how's it going to look when you show up at the DF Bar Association annual taco buffet and tequila tasting with her?  Oh, who am I kidding.  This is DF Telenovelaland, therefore Alberto is the only lawyer there is.

At home, Diana keeps griping about feeling nauseous and asks for some fruit for dinner, since it's the only thing that sounds appealing.

Natalia can't stop thinking about Diana saying that Diego sleeps around…and how Diego said he was a free man when they met.  She decides to believe him, because Diana is…well, Diana.

Getting ready for bed, Diana discovers one of the hideous truths about pregnancy…they only CALL it morning sickness.  And she just now realizes she is monumentally late.  Can I get a "No puede ser!"

Uh oh…Lupita has gotten an assignment at school to write about her parents.  Plural.

Diana sent Mrs. Country Caretaker to get her a pregnancy test.

The next morning at the office, Diego glumly asks Natalia to come into his office.  She's all set to review his schedule, but he called her in there to tell her that he can't divorce Diana because she'll kill herself.  He's totally going to do it when she's stable, though.  For realz.  Natalia tells him to take care of his wife and do what he has to do.  Karina, listening outside the door, practically spikes a football.

It's as we all feared.  Diana has spawned.  She stuffs the test in her purse and runs off without her phone.

Irene discusses getting the house ready for Vicente's return with Lala.

Natalia gives herself a pep talk in the bathroom.  Well, less "pep" than "Mom was right, men don't change!"

Alberto visits Diego's office.  He wanted to give Diego the news about Carmen in person.  Apparently, they can file some paperwork to get his bail money back.  Diego isn't happy, though, because it's one less reason for Natalia to keep working there.

Karina tries to call Diana to gossip, but since Diana forgot her phone, it goes to voicemail.  When Natalia comes into the breakroom for coffee, Karina hides behind a door.  Seriously, Karina?

Diana goes to a lab for a blood test.

The Sexter is also desperately trying to get in touch with Diana.  He decides to call the house and there's a weird cut that makes me think they skipped right over him getting through to the house and being told that Diana's not there.  He flips through his contact list and decides to hook up with "Flora" for some R &R…one of those "R"s hopefully being "revenue."

Natalia leaves for lunch and Diego hesitates just long enough that she's gone by the time he gets to her desk.  The ever-helpful Karina gloats about how he juuuust missed her and she ran right out of there like the devil himself was on her heels.  Diego asks if she doesn’t have anything better to do than be all up in everybody's business.  Dude…fire her already.  After Diego leaves, she gets a call from Diana who demands that Karina meet her at the café around the corner.

Alberto picks Brigitte up at school.

Lupita's classmates talk about their parent papers.  Paolo shows up to pick up Lupita and she tries asking him what he remembers about her dad, but it's really not enough to write about…and considering it ends with him leaving….

Natalia heads to the mall to get some perspective from Angela.

Diana shows Karina the pregnancy test results.  Congratulations, Karina…you're going to be a daddy!  Karina, ever the optimist, says this is a great way to keep Diego stuck in this loveless farce of a marriage.  To bad it's probably Oliverio's since Diego and Diana haven't been getting busy lately.

Angela thinks starting off a relationship with Diego and having his ex kill herself over it is probably bad karma.  And she doesn't believe the BS about him having a bunch of lovers.  Natalia decides to give him some time and trust him…but this is his last chance!

Karina mocks Diana for not taking precautions.  Diana can't stand to think about her belly growing.  Karina gloats about how a woman's body is never the same after she has a baby.  These two are so shallow and tacky!  Karina passes on the news that Natalia seems to be done with Diego, since he told her he can't get a divorce until Diana is stable.  Diana plans to be nice to Diego so he'll feel guilty for leaving her when he finds out she's pregnant.  Because historically, she's been so good at being "nice" for longer than five minutes at a time.

Brigitte tries to pretend she knows her way around the menu, but Alberto ends up ordering for her.  He doesn't even bat an eyelash when she says what he ordered must be good, since it costs so much.  Run, Alberto.  RUN!

Vicente gets home and gets re-settled.  He does NOT appreciate the recliner Irene ordered for him, or the flowers she had Lala put in his room.  Downstairs, Irene and Diego ask Tiburcio to take the flowers out of the room.  Irene goes to the kitchen with Lala to give her the instructions for Vicente's diet.

When Tiburcio goes upstairs, Vicente takes the opportunity to tell him to keep the secret that Irene's daughter is alive.  He plays on Tiburcio's affections, saying they don't know what Irene's daughter could be like…and she'll be angry at Vicente and he'll lose his other child…and wouldn't that be terrible, now that he's recovering…you wouldn't want to do that to a nice old man, now, would you?  Tiburcio is convinced and Vicente smiles a genuine smile of happiness.  Creep.

Diana tells Diego that she'll go to therapy, but she insists on seeing Alonso.

Brigitte loved the meal and says they should do this more often.  She goes to the bathroom while Alberto waits for the check…and sees The Sexter with another woman.  As he and Brigitte walk out, he slows down at Sexters table long enough to hear him cooing to this lady friend that he's hungry for her.

Diego calls Alonso, but he does NOT want to treat Diana.  He gives in and says he'll have his secretary look for some available times.  Alberto visits Alonso's office to tell him that Diana's "gay" "cousin" is neither gay, nor Diana's cousin.

Lupita tells Carmen that she needs help with her homework and she didn't want to ask at the fonda because she didn't want everyone to hear.  "I have to write about my dad."

Alberto is convinced that Oliverio isn't gay.  Alonso is upset that he just told Diego that he would accept Diana as a patient.  He's going to take it back.  Alberto thinks he should go ahead and see her and get the truth out of her.  "No.  That's not ethical.  And it's not like she's going to tell me anything that could hurt her."  Alberto thinks if he asks Diana to come in with the "cousin," leaves them alone for a while, and records them, they can get some proof.  As far as Alberto's concerned, they owe it to Diego to keep Diana from fooling him any further.

Natalia brings Diego some paperwork to sign  In the middle of the legit paperwork is a piece of paper where Natalia wrote "I believe you."  Diego can't keep himself from hugging her and kissing her on the cheek.  Mushy stuff about the sincerity in his eyes and how he luuuuuuurves her.

Tomorrow: Alonso bugs his office; Diego tells Diana he knows the truth about Oliverio; Diana shows Natalia the pregnancy test results.

Congratulations to Irene on 3 episodes sober...and a civilized coffee with Tad to boot!

I'll check back in again in the morning.

Thanks for another fabulous recap. So many great lines!

I wanted to kick Natalia, too!(and that was a great scene. Cynthia Klitbo is da bomb.)

I'm really scared for Albogado. I'm not a Brigitte fan at all. There's too much Diana potential there. Bit gosh he looked cute gushing over his kiss on the cheek!

Vicente is VILE. I was really happy at the prospect of Irene finding out about her child so quickly (er give or take 20 years), but I guess that secret will end up being dragged on like The Great Misunderstanding.

I'm so sorry I missed this episode! Looked like a good one...

Kat, fabulous as always. Such a treat!

"I say that as a woman of a certain age. We know quality", "Think about it…how's it going to look when you show up at the DF Bar Association annual taco buffet and tequila tasting with her?" were wonderful. I laughed at "It's as we all feared. Diana has spawned". Simply great!

I'll join you in celebrating Irene on her sobriety. One day at a time. Worry about today and tomorrow will take care of itself.

Sorry that Natalia was responsible for interrupting the hoped for kiss between Carmen and Eleazar (although secretly relieved as I would like to see it too!)

So Diana will play the guilt pregnancy card with Nat. Figures.

Kat, thanks again!

Diana

Sara, I don't care for Brigitte either "There's too much Diana potential there" may indeed be the reason why! :)

Diana

Thanks, Kat!

I was pretty upset by the interrupted near kisses too. I think Nat realized that she might have interrupted a moment between those two. El still needs to set Carmen and Kimberly straight about his stupid and false declaration of love for Kim.

I'm glad Alonso has agreed to bend his ethics enough to set a trap for Diana and her lover. Can't wait for Diego to confront her.

As for Alberto and Brigitte...I think she's not in high school but in some post-secondary program like what Nat just graduated from. Paolo is in high school and Brigitte is older than him. Plus, Carm was pregnant with Brig when Nat was found, so Brig has to be at least 18 or 19.

Thanks in advance for the recap Kat. I'm going to sit down and enjoy with Coffee as soon as I return from the gym.

In the meantime, I have a question for anyone. Last night when Eleazar was trying to get a statement out of reluctant (can’t think of the guys name), my captions said “te voy a refundir en la carcel”.
What does refundir mean? I interpreted it to mean something like “rot”. But when I looked it up the only definitions I can find are “melt again, recycle, rehash”.
Gracias

Foxy- Check out this word reference discussion for your answer: http://forum.wordreference.com/showthread.php?t=1894306

This is the best explanation from the site: "The idea of refundir here is that something (in this case, the person) is misplaced. That is, I will send you to jail and you will be forgotten, so that nobody could even find you if they tried."

Gracias, todos!

Brigitte would totally end up being a Diana. For a while, Alberto would find things like not knowing what "tartare" is and being crass about the menu prices charming...and then it would start to grate on him. When she's being rude to the staff. When she's trying to act all classy around a client or business colleague and insults their wife. She's a total Diana-in-training. And, come on...if you want some guy in a suit to take you out to nice restaurants, do a little research. Or admit that you don't know. That whole pretending thing is just awkward. Good thing he mentioned "tartare" being raw before she had a chance to order it.

I guess Alonso can justify what he's doing if he paints this as a "meeting" and not a therapy session and if he busts them on video right after they get there and then doesn't do any actual therapy--maybe fakes an emergency or something. Though, I do wish they would just hire a PI.

I too had always assumed "refundir" had something to do with "rotting," since I never heard it used in any context other than sending someone away to rot in jail.

I really don't know what Albogado sees in Brig, but his intentions seems pure. There are plenty of good guys with women who are beyotches in real life too.

I'm glad that Alonso and Albogado are taking things into their own hands. Too much chance of mistakes or being bought by Diana if they hired a PI. That backfired big time over on Por Siempre. Of course, taking things into their own hands ALSO backfired over on Por Siempre. :)

Thanks for the recap Kat and add my congrats to Irene. By the end of this she will be a very strong woman. I think she and Carmen would be great friends.

Bummed about the almost kiss but Eleazar needs to talk to Kim and Carmen about his real feelings.

Yes Sara Vicente is VILE. I hope he and the evil twin get to spend the rest of their days together with no money or friends.

And ITA w/all those who don't want Alberto w/the Brat. Kat really broke it down about how her antics seem cute now but won't be in the future.

Ok, I'm back. As always, I thoroughly enjoyed the recap. No matter how well I think I understand the episode, the recaps never fails to shed light on something I didn't understand.

Thanks Vivi and Kat for explaining "refundir". The Word Reference link was very helpful.

If Carmen was pregnant with Brigitte when she found Natalia, Brigitte & Natalia should be the same age (with Natalia a few months older, obviously).

Irene was pregnant in 1991, baby Natalia was found at the church on Christmas Day, Natalia's birthday should be 12/25/91 making her 22 years old and Brigitte would've been born in 1992, making her 21 or 22 years old.

Remember, this tn started airing a year ago in Mexico, so we are in 2013 right now. Nat is not yet 22, so Brigette is 20-21.
