De Que Te Quiero, Te Quiero #36- Mon 4/28

De que el amor no tiene edad, el amor no tiene edad

Luz agrees to babysit Chato.

Diego brings Natalia a giant greeting card.  AT WORK?!  Dude…what are you thinking?  Discretion is the better part of a smooth divorce.

Rosa escorts Vicente down to his home office and gets him to hang out on the couch while she does the actual searching for info on the computer.  Vicente starts looking through the books Irene left there last night.

Alberto shows up to see Diego and hears some mushy talk via the speakerphone.  Maybe Alberto can talk some sense into him.  Alberto tells him that Diana only has another 24 hours to "prove" his infidelity.  Diego says that's no problem, since he and Natalia have decided not to have a relationship until the divorce is final.  Clearly that doesn't mean the same thing to him as it does to me.  He's grumpy about Brigitte knowing his personal bidness, but Alberto says she didn't find out from him.  Speaking of people who need some sense talked into them….

Eleazar and Paolo talk about Chato…specifically about being suspicious about him.

Chato is enjoying Luz's cooking.  He tries to pump Luz for information about Lupita so he can figure out how he can win her over.  Well, Chato, it's not difficult.  You just have to be a decent guy.

Alberto doesn't even get into his car before he calls Brigitte and asks to see her.  She thinks today's the day Alberto is going to ask her to go steady.

Diego shows Irene the business plan he's come up with.  He thinks they need to work up some samples.  Based on market research, he thinks they need to start with casual wear.  He gives her carte blanche to hire whoever she wants.  "I know who I want as my assistant, but you're not going to like it."  Diego pretty much screams "MY NATALIA!" when he hears.  Irene teases him about it being a great sacrifice.  He asks Natalia to come into the office so he can hear what she thinks.

Diana's sleazeball lawyer hands over the picture to the judge.

Natalia falls all over herself trying to suggest that she help Irene while still trying to do all the work Diego needs.  Irene wants her full-time, though.  She proposes Natalia give it a try and if things don't work out, she can go back to being Diego's assistant. Natalia wants some time to think about it.  Diego pouts that Natalia's going to choose Irene.

As soon as she gets in the car, Alberto asks Brigitte what she's trying to pull, telling her mother that Diego was married and getting a divorce.

Natalia is nervous about working with Irene and tries to offer up Brigitte as a substitute.  Irene says now isn't the time.  She likes Brigitte's work and she's willing to hire her when things get going, but for now she'd really like to work with Natalia.  And besides, if things don't work out, Natalia can always go back to working for Diego.  Natalia agrees, and Diego only has to see the happy look on her face to know that he'd better find himself another secretary.

Brigitte tells Alberto all she did was tell the truth and if Natalia and Diego got uncomfortable about it, that's their problem.  If they don't want to be judged, they they'd better not go around doing anything that looks bad, whether it IS bad or not.  Alberto gives her a hard time for speaking out of turn and Brigitte tells him to quit covering for his friend and her sister.  Alberto can't figure out QTH her problem is and she gets angry enough to tell him she doesn't want to see him anymore.  Unfortunately, right after she gets out of the car, his phone rings and he answers it angrily.  It's the judge, asking to see him ASAP.

Natalia wanders around Irene's office, looking at Brigitte's designs.  Or rather, HER designs.  And what does she say about it, "Brigitte never changes."

Irene makes it to Tad's, late, and immediately notices her favorite flowers.  And the painting of her.

Alberto goes over to Diego's office and lets himself in, since Natalia's not at her desk.  He's pissed that Diego didn't tell him the truth and hands over the faked photo.  Diego realizes immediately that it's faked.  "I don't even have this suit anymore.  It's been a while since it got ruined at the dry cleaners."  He remembers Diana looking through photo albums the other day and figures this must be why, since he never believed her "remembering the good times" crap.

Tad starts talking about how he painted the painting back when he first got to Paris, but Irene asks him not to bring that time up, since she's really trying to forget about that.  He has a problem with his balance and Irene notices, but he tells her it's fine, it passed, and they should talk about the foundation instead.

Alberto doesn't think remembering about the suit is going to be enough to get the photo thrown out, but he's going to ask for it to be analyzed to prove that it's a fake.  He suggests the also present the original photo of Diego.  Diego remembers that Natalia was wearing that dress yesterday and realizes she's being followed.  He tells Alberto about Natalia changing jobs.

Diana's lawyer crows about getting the fake picture past the judge.  He says now that they're on equal footing, he can ask the judge to let Team Diana pick the clinic for the DNA testing and he's sure the baby will be Diego's.

Diego and Alberto go over to Irene's office to show Natalia the faked picture.  Diego explains someone must have been following her.  Alberto says they need to show that the photo is faked and Diego tells her they're going to the house to find the original photo of him.

Chato shows up at Lupita's school to pick her up.  The teacher calls Eleazar immediately to tell him that someone's there trying to pick up HIS daughter.  Eleazar grins and says he'll be right over.

Diego finds the photo album, with the picture still in it.

Irene suggests that their age range be from 18 to 45, saying that youth lasts a lot longer than it used to.  Tad wants to start with 10 scholarships a year, but maybe increase it.  He gets all maudlin, saying it's hard to think about how to keep it running after he's gone…it's easy enough while he's alive….  "Oh, you're going to live for quite a while,"  Irene says.  Alonso calls to ask her for lunch and he won't take "no" for an answer even if it means they have a late lunch.  Irene agrees to meet him at 3:30.  Tad fishes for info about Alonso and ends up saying that it's obvious he's in love with her.

Eleazar tells Morales that he just wants to scare Chato a little.  He agrees to Morales' plan to give Chato a ride in the back of the squad car…and drop him off far away!

Irene tries to talk Tad out of thinking Alonso's in love with her, while Tad tries to convince her.  Tad says Alonso's a grown man, and Irene's not exactly old.  And so what if he's her nephew's friend.  Irene tells him to get back to work, since she's got a late lunch date.  Tad thought bubbles that love doesn't have an age.

Morales picks up Chato for refusing to show ID.  Chato hits him with the crutch and runs away.

Luz tells Carmen that Chato went to pick up Lupita from school.  Luz really thinks Chato is sorry, but Carmen hopes he doesn't hurt Lupita.  She suddenly remembers that Eleazar is supposed to be Lupita's dad and tells Luz to go to the school and drag Chato back to the fonda!   Which turns out not to be necessary, because thanks to the healing powers of Carmen and Luz's cooking, Chato is able to run into the fonda, arm out of his sling and tell them the cops are after him.  "And your crutch, Chato?"  Busted!

Morales tells Eleazar that Chato ran off.  "He must have gotten so scared he forgot he was hurt!"  Eleazar thanks the teacher for calling him and says she should call him if that guy shows up again.  She even kept Lupita inside until he showed up.  Lupita isn't happy to see him.  "You lied to me!  You said you wanted to be my dad and you have a girlfriend!"  Busted!

Chato claims it was the adrenaline rush, but now he thinks he's going to faint.  Carmen's not buying his line of bull.  And Luz says they're only going to her place long enough to pick up his stuff.  If he can run, he can take care of himself.  Carmen laughs at Luz shoving him out of the kitchen.

Alberto and Diego show the judge the original picture.  The judge says it's obvious to him that the picture was faked, so he doesn't need to ask for further proof.  He's pissed that Team Diana is trying to pull one over on him.  Alberto says he'll sue the responsible party and the judge agrees.  He also tells Diego that, as far as his divorce goes, he thinks Diego had better get a clear idea of what he's up against.

Eleazar brings Lupita and Paolo to the fonda.  Carmen thought bubbles that Chato was chased by a cop and here Eleazar's got her kids.  She asks if Eleazar happened to see Chato at Lupita's school, which he truthfully says he didn't.  And as for why he picked the kids up…eh, he just felt like it.  That's ok, right?  And hey, if Chato went to pick up Lupita, then that must mean he's feeling better.

Natalia sees Brigitte outside the fonda and tells her that she saw her designs.  "There were a lot of my ideas in there."  Brigitte says, "See, I do listen to you sometimes."  Natalia tells her that Irene's totally going to hire her, as soon as "they" get the clothing line off the ground.  Brigitte is pissed that Natalia's working with Irene now, since she knows "nothing" about design.  Brigitte blames Natalia for taking "her" job.  Natalia blames herself  for saying anything to Brigitte until it was actually a done deal.  Brigitte threatens that if Natalia doesn't get her that job NOW, she can forget about calling Brigitte her sister ever again.  Brat!  And since you're constantly reminding her that she's not "really" your sister, this is a threat how?  But of course, since Natalia is WAY too nice, she looks upset.

Alonso and Irene have lunch in the wine room of a restaurant.  How is this a good idea?  She remembers Tad saying that Alonso's crazy about her.  She admits she didn't get very far in reading the book, because she was distracted by, um, stuff....  "Admit it, you were thinking about Tadeo!"  "What's it to you?!"  He admits that he's in love with her and he has been since he was a kid.  He just thought she was unattainable.  "Don't tell me you never noticed?"  Well, no, she didn't.  Alberto spells it out for her and finally says this is why he couldn't keep seeing her as a patient…"Because you're the love of my life."

Luz walks Chato out to the curb so Andres can pick him up.  Chato is still trying to keep up the pretense that it huuuuuurts…a looooooooot…but Andres knows better and Luz no longer believes it.

Eleazar tells the Garcias a joke: "A woman comes home and she finds her husband all dressed up like a soldier, with a flyswatter.  She asks him what he's doing and he says killing flies, of course.  She asks him if he's killed a bunch and he says yes…two males and a female.  So she asks, how do you know which ones are males and which ones are females.  And he says easy…the males were in my beer and the females were in my phone."  Everyone laughs except Brigitte.  Lupita doesn't get it either, but at least she's not making a face.  Natalia is ready to go back to work and accepts a ride from Eleazar.

Alonso wants to know what Irene feels for him, but she's still too busy trying to brush him off for being too young.  Alonso's sure she feels something…even if it's a little.  Irene grabs her purse and walks out.

Tomorrow: Team Diana finds out Team Diego knows the picture is fake; Team Diego gets to pick the lab for the DNA test; the baby daddy is revealed.

14 episodes sober despite lunch in a wine room. And one unanswered declaration of love. *sad face*

Thanks, Kat! Quite a few big reveals-- the faked photo (really impressed that was solved in one epi); Alonso's feelings for Irene; and Chato's faked injuries. Excellent!

Come on, Irene! You know you want to look deep into Alonso's soulful green eyes and then devour him with kisses. Tad was really great about making Alonso's case, despite his obvious feelings for Irene. Did we ever see Tad get his results back from the doctor? Does he know what he has? He seems to have given up on life.

I was totally with you on Nat and Diego not understanding the concept of discretion. The sappy texts, the loving comments over the intercom, and the GIANT card!

Great recap and comments. Ugh, Natalia just let her stay mad. She's such a brat!

Irene go back in there and make out with him! But I'm so glad it's finally out. These two are killing me.

So impressed they wrapped up the picture business so fast. But things are going so well that I suspect Diego is the father after all.

Thanks for the recap Kat. I also have a sad face about Irene and Alonso. I understand being confused but to not respond and run out of the restaurant. Why Irene Why?

Vivi, Tad's doctor told him a tumor is affecting his nerves (hence the shaking hand and fainting). They don't know whether its cancerous or benign.

Anon @ 11:10 pm the Brat was acting really crazy. As Kat said, how is her threat any different than what she does to Nat daily? And now we know she stole Nat's ideas too. I'm sure she'll get hired and steal Nat's designs again (a guess).

I thought the side story with Chato trying to pick up Lupita demonstrates the intelligence and fun of this show. Chato gets busted, El has fun running him off, gets busted by Lupita, and the audience gets to be amused through it all. Most shows that have comic diversions are really bad acting and silly stuff.

Thanks, Kat!

Like Vivi I am amazed at how quickly the fake picture got cleared up, but now I have some real fears about the DNA test results. I'm of the same mind as Anon11:10...things are just going to well.

Nat, your sister is a Brat. I know that is hard for you because you are a kind and generous soul, but you are going to have to get tough with her and not be so upset by the catty things she says.

I was perfectly happy with the fight Brat had with Albogado, but there's still that opening credit smooch. Dammit, Al...RUN!

Now, Irene. Girl. Alonso is a CATCH! He's smokin' hot. He's caring. He's wild about you!!! Why did you leave?

Karen-I like your assessment of the humor in this. We get to have amusing scenes without corny sound effects/stupid facial expressions/silliness.

I think Team Diana will pay somebody to rig the DNA tests in her favor.

But it doesn't matter because I can't see Diana's baby ever being born. I see an escaleracide in her future. We're overdue for one in the novelas, anyway.

Gracias, Vivi, Anon, Karen, Sara, and Anon 207 for the feedback.

I have only once seen a lab refuse a bribe on these shows, so I'm not feeling too optimistic. If the divorce drags on, it's probably best that Nat not be working directly for Diego...not that either one of them have thought of it that way!

Anon 207, I agree about the escaleracide, though I don't think anyone else will have to do it. Diana's perfectly capable of falling down the stairs all by herself in one of her many fits of completely unjustified outrage. And then blaming Natalia, who will hopefully be clear across town when it happens, because as soft-hearted as that girl is, if she's even within Diana's line of sight, she'll blame herself.

Irene, Irene, Irene...please go talk to Natalia now. Don't consult the bottle!

Kat, your amazing recap captured the mostly fun events of the episode perfectly.

"Discretion is the better part of a smooth divorce", "And since you're constantly reminding her that she's not "really" your sister, this is a threat how?" and your comment "14 episodes sober despite lunch in a wine room. And one unanswered declaration of love. *sad face*" were fabulous!

I enjoyed every scene even the ginomous card! Agree, Nat and Diego have not mastered the fine art of discretion, but they are so darn cute. This show makes me smile and it's so refreshing to see people we truly care about make even the most mundane things seem highly entertaining.

Vivi, I hope Tad and Nat find each other before it's too late.

Anon and Karen, yes, who cares about the Brat! She is just annoying - the one fly in the ointment in this amazing cast of characters.

Thanks Kat for giving this the careful time and attention that you do. I am so appreciative!

Diana

Thanks, 5ft. This show is so much lighter and brighter than the other two that I am watching..Siempre and Robo. I appreciate A break from evil and angst, and just looking at Marcelo is a pleasure. The guy has great hair.

Can I just say Marcelo is smokin' hot in that gun holster?

Or has that already been said?

OMG! Sara, I was thinking the same thing as he got out of the squad car last night and put on his jacket over the gun holster. However, I think he looks hot whatever he's doing. :)

That's EXACTLY when it occurred to me too!

I'm really enjoying him and Cynthia Klitbo. I'm thinking she really deserved her prize.

Yes, Sara..I noticed that the gun holster raised the hotness quotient. I think this is not politically correct, but,,,,he looks very macho . Does that make us bad people ? Marcelo just seems to better with age...like a fine wine.

Law enforcement officials with guns seems OK to me. Lol. Marcelo is a VERY fine wine.

Sara...My friend was married to a cop. We went to a wedding of another friend in another city. Hub drove, and we were both stunned when the guy got in the front passenger seat and immediately put his gun in the glove compartment. He told us that he never traveled without his gun. However, he was not wearing a holster...and even if he was...he was no Marcelo.

Gracias, Diana and Susanlynn for the feedback!

If it's just the actress, then I have to give her kudos for that--Brigitte just has a smirky, unpleasant look on her face, even when she's not actually saying anything unpleasant. If that's just her face, then the poor girl is going to be stuck playing second-rate villanas forever!

Marcelo is the hotness...with or without a gun. I only hope he hangs out near a pool sometime in the near future...or maybe a beach....

Yes, Bratgitte always looks as if she's sucking lemons. I hope it's just acting!
