Por Siempre Mi Amor #102 (Mexico #141)- ¿Yo fui la que hizo este lío?/ Solo vine a hablar por teléfono

Tonight's title is inspired by Cuca and the avances. In light of his recent death, it is really creepy how much Isa's story is starting to look like the Gabriel García Márquez story (scroll down for the quick synopsis.)

I'm jumping right in to the "new." I tried to keep it brief, but oh my these últimos capítulos are chock full o' fun!

Isabel clocks Fernando (Feo) and runs...to the bedroom (Your purse! Ay Dio mio!™ TabletJefa) Feo follows, grabs her by the neck and tells her she's not leaving. Meanwhile, Gabriela (Gabi) is re-dialing, but she gets the "fuera del área de servicio" message.

Marianela (Mari) wants to know why Sonia would do such a thing as abandon her. Dan explains Sonia was a lying liar who lied to her husband. He didn't tell her because he didn't want her hurt. He's finally coming clean because Gil found out. He and Sonia are coming to Tita's to clear things up. Dan wanted to be the one to tell her first. Mari wonders if Sonia will claim her. Dan doubts it. She wasn't exactly running to be a good mom.

Sonia and Gil talk to Tita and she confirms that the DNA test showed that Sonia is NOT Mari's mother. Sonia finds out Dan is there and that's he's talking to Mari. He's probably already talked to her. Ooops! We better clear things up.

Aranza and Ileana are leaving after visiting Dafne (The Duck.) Esteban (Este) is keeping vigil NEXT! (™ Carlos)

Mauricio (Mau) and Andrea product placement. NEXT!

Mari lays into Sonia. You just wanted to pay me to rid yourself of the guilt! Tita and Gil explain to Dan and Mari about the DNA test.

The Duck overhears Ileana telling Este to let go of his guilt. He claims it's not guilt, but Ileana wants to know why he's sticking to Duck. They both know he's not in love. She knows he's still in love with Aranza. He admits his love for Ara has never died and he'll never love the Duck.

Sonia tells Mari she's an extraordinary girl, but they are not related. Dan wants to know why Sonia never told him about this. Sonia reminds him that she tried, but he wouldn't listen. (It's true Dan!) She told him a thousand times and he didn't want to listen. Gil doesn't think Sonia has changed a bit. Still selfish. Mari asks if this means she and Dan can be novios now. Tita says they can. Dan takes his sweet time looking happy.

Este tells Ileana he needs the Duck up and waddling again so he can break up with her. He feels terrible right now. The Duck hears it all.

Tita herds Gil and Sonia into her office. Dan and Mari sittin' in a tree. K.I.S.S.I.N.G! (I'm so glad I got this episode!!! Happy Dance!)

Tita is hoping Sonia and Fab can clear things up. Gil is surprised at the news that Sonia has separated from Fab. Tita tells Sonia that it was her doing for telling lies. Gil asks Tita not to be so harsh. Sonia was raped and lost the child soon after its birth. Tita sighs. Sonia told her that she lost the baby a few weeks into the pregnancy. Fab is listening at the door and barges in. Which is the truth???

Dante arrives to help Feo. He sees Isa unconscious.  Feo explains that she got her memory back and they need to get rid of her and her baby. Baby? Dante is a little nervous. Is Feo going to kill her?

Gil and Fab urge Sonia to tell the truth. Yes, she had a baby boy and abandoned him.

Gabi is talking to Mau and Andrea and she swears it was Isa who called and then hung up. Isa managed to tell her Feo was alive. Mau and Andrea are shocked. Maybe Isa was confusing Javier with Feo? She said "FER-NAN-DO"? She keeps trying to call, but she only gets the "fuera del área del serivicio message." They remember the e-mail. Andrea wonders if Feo was the one who wrote the email. They decide  to call the doctor who attended Isa in the hospital.

Sonia starts begging Fab. Can't they understand she didn't want the child? It reminded her of a horrible time! Gil wants to know what she did with the child. Lucero took him to an orphanage and from that day forward the child was dead to her. Fab wonders how she could have done it and Sonia explains she would always see her rapist in the child's face. Tita tells Sonia the child was innocent. Sonia begs Fab to listen to her, but we stalks out. Sonia runs after him. Fab calls her a mitómano (pathological liar.) He's going to divorce her.

Gil wants to find the baby. Tita comments that Sonia's life has been a lie. Gil approaches Sonia and asks again where the baby was left. Sonia doesn't know and she asks him to leave her alone. Her marriage is the only thing that matters. Gil says again how selfish Sonia is. Gil didn't abandon her after her mother died. On the contrary, he gave her everything! This is how you repay me?

Gil goes to visit Agatha. She can't believe the news. She comforts Gil and tells him it's not his fault Sonia turned out the way she did (ok, I think he at least a pinky in it. He spoiled her and never said "no".) Gil is so happy Agatha crossed his path and he asks her to take their relationship to the next level. Live with him!!

Fab talks to Art about his Sonia woes. As I usually do, I'm gonna play the "recapper's privilege" card because I refuse to detail Art's whiny "I know about betrayal" dialogue. A pox on you and your orange pants, buster.

Agatha is no easy sleazy. She wants marriage.... y por dos leyes (civil and church.) Gil readily agrees, noting that Agatha deserves it. Yay!

Fab and Art still talking. "Recapper's privilege" card in play. Oh jeez "my heart still remembers Isa" wah wah wah. Just shut it, Art.

Andrea calls the hospital but the Doctor has already left.

Isa has been bound with duct tape (The handyman's secret weapon), but is conscious. She is confused by Dante's presence. Feo tells her how Dante was placed in her house specifically to keep watch on her (Gawd Feo's laugh is blood curdling.) Isa tries to appeal to Dante. Feo pushes her and tells her to shut up. He chloroforms her and says she's a pain. Dante asks again if Feo is going to get rid of Isa. Feo just tells her to get the car.

Isa wakes up in a straight jacket and padded room. She starts kicking the door and screaming for someone to let her out.

Meanwhile, Feo is explaining to the hospital director that he is the husband of Isabel López Cerda (really, Feo?.) He also introduces Dante as the trusty chofer. Dante explains that Isa has flipped. Feo continues saying she doesn't even remember that he's Javier de la Fuente. She thinks that he wants to do her harm, that he's kidnapped her. She even attack el patrón, adds Dante. Feo explains that now Isa thinks she's married to Artruo de la Riva and that he, Javier is Fernando Castillo. This is very difficult for him since he loves his wife so much. She's schizophrenic. She'd been diagnosed before, but she's never had an episode like this. She's talking about people she doesn't even know. The Doctor needs Feo to bring in Isa's records. Feo will get them, but please take care of his wife.

Andrea is happy for Agatha.

Cuca is happy for Gil and Agatha. Gil hits her with the Mari news. She is shocked. Gil explains about the DNA test and the conclusions she and Padre jumped to. Yes, Cuca...you're the one who caused this lío.

A nurse comes in to sedate Isa, but Isa screams that she's pregnant and then swears she's not crazy....which just makes her look crazy.

Borlas confronts Dan about Mari. Dan fills him in on the day's events. Borlas tries to apologize, but Dan brushes it off. They are cuates again. Dan hopes Borlas can find the right girl for him.

Isa is still begging the nurse not to sedate her. They don't know what harm it could do to the baby. The nurse thinks it's a nice try, but she's not falling for it and is going to sedate her anyway. Isa puts up one helluva fight and the doctor arrives. She pleads with him and tells him she's pregnant. He orders a prueba de gravidez (pregnancy test.) Better safe than sorry. Isa swears she's not lying and tells the doctor he has to believe her.

Gil is going to find his grandson. He will talk to Lucero. He wants Sonia's son to be happy and have the opportunities Sonia denied him.

Sonia, meanwhile, is convincing Lucero to skip town. Lucero thinks it's about the Feo is Javi/Javi is Feo thing, but Sonia corrects her and tells her about the day's events. Cuca blabbed, Fab is leaving, Dad is pithed AND he wants to find the child. Lucero wants to know if Gil knows if the father of the child is....duhn duhn duhn!!! FERNANDO! (Poor Borlas.)

Dante wants to know how Feo is going to get fake medical records for Isa. Feo places a call to someone and asks them to meet him...Oh we ALL know who it is.

Ha! For the last scene the only note I wrote is "Isa is not making her case very well." Pullin' the card again and not going into a lot of detail, but she's trying so hard to explain the truth and she's so emotional she does indeed look crazy. And thanks for Feo, the Doctor takes all the truths (I am married to Art. Javier is Feo who died. I am being held against my will) to be the ramblings of of a schizophrenic.

Avances

  • Marcela hands Feo Isa's fake medical history and it's all downhill from there. Xlnt, you are getting a bummer of an episode.

Wow, Sara, the stories are very similar. What an excellent comparison to tonight's episode.
I can't wait for the recap, Sara, this was a good episode, there should be a lot of discussion.
Come on Isa, there wasn't a lamp that you could have cracked Feo's skull with? Your purse! Ay Dios mio!
Sucia is a liar and I'm glad that she got caught by Fab. Woohoo!!! Fab see if you can get the witch doctor's lawyer who gives instant divorces.
So Borlas is probably Sucia's son. Poor thing but he did have that evil streak. I think that it was Vivi, who had surmised this awhile back.
Seriously- did Ileana and Este think that Daphne couldn't hear them in that small room?
The whole nuthouse piece is ridiculous. People can just drop off partners and the doctors listen and don't exam anyone in the interim. WTF?

"Your purse! Ay Dios mio!"

That's going in the recap!

Ok. Recap done.

Sara, this is a masterpiece and its hilarious. I'm still laughing at the fact that you used the purse. I sat in disbelief watching her clock Feo with it.
It's true, with Isa babbling on and she is not helping her case at all. The coming attractions are making me angry. The witch doctor is trying to seal the deal for Feo and have Isa committed for good? Unbelievable.

Hahaha, what a great recap. Thank you for making this more fun than this certainly was to watch.

Okay, really Isa, you couldn't tell the doctor that he should contact your friend Gabi? Or even your worthless husband fArt? Really? Too. Stupid. To. Live.

I know, right? The one name Feo didn't mention was Gabi and Casa Arte. "Dr please call Gabi at ####. She is my business partner at Casa Arte." Would have been so much better. She has her memory back. She knows fArt wants nothing to do with her.

PS our little show was third place behind LQLVMR and QPTR in Mexico on Thursday, beating Color de Pasion and Quiero Amarte. Best showing since it started. I'm glad :)

Sara thanks for your great recap. I had a LOL moment when you used your recapper privilege card to not listen to fArt's foolishness. Yeah for you!!

Oh, and Gil mentioned in his dressing down of Sonia that you are not related to me by blood and I didn't abandon you when your mother died. Now that most of the stuff has hit the fan for her trying to make Lucero leave town is so selfish. Poor Borlas.

I thank you all for your patience with me and my rants as the torment Isa out of control. I just had to FF through her parts b/c this is so sad to me. Can anyone else let me know of tns that have had the heroine go through so much torment? I would like to hope that b/c SG is one of the leads in this she will live but what can the writers do to give us a satisfactory ending?

I'm hoping Vivi's wish comes true and the baddies turn on one another in a vicious fashion in front of fArt and Ara (it may be too devastating for poor Fab). Sad for Dante's parents when his role comes to light. Now that will be must see TV.

Best wishes Kathy with Dr. Evil in full crazy mode.

Carlota in La Otra had a really rough go of it. Another Yadhira Carrillo character, Nora in Amarte Es Mi Pecado, was made absolutely miserable to set up her revenge. I found the revenge far too short-lived in comparison to the many desgracias.
There are others, but I'd have to think about it.
I am bothered by the sadism Isa is treated with by these writers, though. The scene of Feo attacking her last night and beginning tonight's episode was very hard to watch.

Anon, like I mentioned before, Isabel will be ALONE and either stay in a mental institution or get killed off in the end.

Gaby, Andrea and Mau need Dirty Harry Callahan to solve this once and for all.

I've seen several previews on YouTube and it's NOT looking good at all !

I'm still betting Borlas is Sonia's son. He's gonna figure it out sooner or later.

On the other hand, it was SWEET watching Mari & Dan get back together 😊

Oh look, it's the Borlas is Soni's Son Bandwagon. I think I'll hitch a ride! So now that I'm a part of that posse, I propose we discuss who could be Borlas's papa. Since his real name is Pablo Noriega, ahould papa have that last name?

*should

I still cannot believe the sadistic torture that Isa has been put through for being a loving, thoughtful, and kind wife, stepmother and friend while the likes of fArt, Ara and the witch doctor have gaily tripped through this, one selfish episode after another.
I have no doubt that in the end, fArt and Ara will happily walk off into the sunset without the least bit of suffering, and with only a slight bit of discomfort, if that. The witch doctor may get a very brief anvil drop but none of them will get what they truly deserve.
This TN has been heavily laden with the most loathsome characters and the first I have seen with no leading galan that you could root for.

Karen- your rants are well received and on point.
Corazon- supposedly Feo is the baby's father's daddy. I would like to know how Sucia and Feo met up.
Sara- thanks for that tidbit about the ratings.

Lucero said last night that Fernando is the father.

Sara: This was riveting.

You did an absolutely outstanding job conveying the never ending torture of Isabel as well as the most welcome reconcilation of Dan and Mari.

"Dan takes his sweet time looking happy", "(The Duck.) Esteban (Este) is keeping vigil NEXT! (™ Carlos)", "(ok, I think he at least a pinky in it. He spoiled her and never said no" were great.

"I refuse to detail Art's whiny "I know about betrayal" dialogue. A pox on you and your orange pants, buster" was side bar worthy. "Agatha is no easy sleazy. She wants marriage.... y por dos leyes (civil and church.)" was great as well.

Isabel clocks Fernando (Feo) and runs...to the bedroom (Your purse! Ay Dio mio!™ TabletJefa)". Excellent TJ!

Karen, I am in complete agreement with you mi amiga on what Isa has had to endure. Isabel must be saved! I refuse to believe she will not survive. I think the writers unfortuantely will give her Isa's "happy" ending (likely with Art) which is certainly not what most of us want for her.

Anon, I think what you noted was spot on: "I have no doubt that in the end, fArt and Ara will happily walk off into the sunset without the least bit of suffering, and with only a slight bit of discomfort, if that". Again, her version of happiness.

For a barely perceptible moment, it appeared Dante might have pangs of uncertainty: "Baby? Dante is a little nervous. Is Feo going to kill her?". While I don't believe Dante can be redeemed, his conscience may not be able to bear adding accessory of murder of a pregnant woman to his resume. We must hope! While I have respect and high hopes for team Gaby/Andrea and Mau they have no idea where Isa is so we may have to rely on Dante, especially as the evil doctora strikes again.

Tablet jefa, I was also dismayed Ileana and Este had their dicussion in full view of and in hearing range of Daphne. What were they thinking? Oh wait, they weren't!

I feel badly for Fab but am saving all my sympathy for Isa.

Congrats to Gil and Agatha. He is certainly the most improved character here to date.

Thanks again Sara!

Diana

I was just thinking about Dante this morning. I don't think he will be redeemed, but I do hope that he is the one that unleashes the "inferno" on his way down to hell (Plus I just really really love the whole Dante/Inferno irony.)

I think they are setting up for that. He's keeping that video. He's definitely a little squeamish about the killing...but he just keeps going along. I'm hoping his deathbed guilt will loosen his tongue.

Am I the only one still wondering why Sonia paid that money? I know she said it was to make up for the scene at Tita's wedding, but I'm not buying it.

Sara, great cap. Nice combination of obscure reference and sarcasm. Loved "The Duck up and waddling again"

Sonia's fear as a pregnant young unmarried woman (by a man that hates kids & a cad) was dead on and if I separate her scumbag behavior since from her pregnancy, the reaction is hypocritical from some, par for others and much ado about not much from the rest. 18 years later her step father is angry, disappointed and wants nothing to do with her, Osvi shames her (but he fathers a child out of wedlock while married to another woman and blames the mother for running off and not telling) and Fab just can't understand why a woman wouldn't recount in detail an incident she wanted to forget (yes I know this lie is the one that breaks the camels back). What was she to do in her late teens. She didn't abort, she avoided folks shaming her for 18 years, Fernando didn't have a chance to mistreat her and the kid. She placed the child in an orphanage at worst and for adoption at best. All these folks are assuming she threw the newborn in a dumpster or it lived in an orphanage or on the street (we suspect that is what happened if Borlas her son). However, the child could have been raised by loving parents and in a good home. There are a multitude of sanctimonious rich folk in this TN with stones at hand ready to fling and the only good life is one that is privileged (and we ain't talking middle class neither).

fArt - win by default only because Fernando sets the bar so low

Isabel - remember this moment. the man you frolicked with on the beach, the love of your life, where is he now

Sonia - if I've told you once I've told you a thousand times

Dan - uh-uh it was 999 times

Cuca - oops my bad

Agatha - I'm almost happy for you

Gil - metamorphosis incomplete

Fernando - diabolically brilliant

Dante - little slugs dry in the sun too

Ileana - dear friend, you offer to get lunch for him while ABrat goes to get her nails done

The Duck - hello, I'm right here

Gabi - choosing teams for dodgeball bet you are always picked first

Tofie, thank you, I too have been bothered by Fab being angry that Sonia didn't tell him something that happened long before she met him and that was a very difficult situation. I didn't see why she was under any obligation to share something like that with anyone.

Sara---Thank you. You were truly inspired while writing this recap.
Dan and Mari sitting in a tree K.I.S.S.I.N.G. happy dance---I agree that it took Dan a while but when he got started, he was really into it. Yes happy dance, no more tears for Mari.
Sara another gem was---Agatha is no easy sleazy. She want's a church wedding. A very dark/sad episode last night but we did get two YEAH'S! Mari and Agatha.

Wow! Last night was something---so much to say but little time. I will have to leave some of my thoughts for later. Just a brief comment for now. Sonia's lies are finally catching up to her. It looks like she is going to loose Fab. Even if she begs him to forgive her for not telling the truth, the whole truth, I'm not sure that he will. If he does file for divorce, where does that leave her, back with Feo? And how many days has she spent teaching school since she stated that she was a teacher---teacher's license?

More later, I'm glad that we have a weekend, we're gonna need a weekend for this one.
the gringo

Isabel needs to take Gaby and leave Mexico for good.

Bruno would be lucky if Ally doesn't take everything he's got. I do see her taking one of the kids back to Spain though.

tofie: "There are a multitude of sanctimonious rich folk in this TN with stones at hand ready to fling and the only good life is one that is privileged (and we ain't talking middle class neither)."

Bravo.

Diana

CD, can't squeeze blood out of a turnip. Right now Ally wouldn't make out well, likely only the clothes she brung to Mexico. Bruno doesn't have a penny. The company is in financial difficulty and may go bankrupt with the legal proceedings against he and Art. Marcela is putting up the money for the new company they have formed and Bruno lives with mother.

Sara, This was great! I missed the first 20 minutes and you filled it in for me nicely.

I am also wondering why Sonia gave Mari that money. I'm not buying the "Mari's not my daughter" bit. Sonia doesn't give money to anyone, she steals, cons, or kills to get it and telling Lucero to vamoose makes me even more suspicious. Something still isn't right here.

I don't feel sorry for Sonia at all. I don't think Fab's reaction is out of line because he suspects she's still lying about something. Sonia was never raped. She's been Feo's lover and partner in crime since she was 15. Everything she's told Fab has been a lie. Remember her lies about Daniel? About being a school teacher? About how she met Javier? Sonia has never told Fab the truth about anything.

One thing that bothered me was when Andrea called for Dr. Jara and was told to call tomorrow. Why does no one ask if the Dr. has an emergency answering service?

I suspect we're in for a week of Isabel torture and frustration. And I also suspect the way this TN is going Arturo and Aranza are not going to be spared. Marcela and Feo are rats and now they're in cahoots with each other. Remember, a rat fights hardest when it's cornered.

I don't have any pity for Sonia and here's why:

At the time she got pregnant, she was dating and sleeping with a very rich man. She wanted to trap him.

It's my opinion that she and Feo cooked up a "let's get me pregnant and claim it's Daddy Warbucks'" scheme. She figured after she has the rich guy, nannies and boarding schools would keep the kid out of her hair.

But, uh oh! Daddy Warbucks has had a vasectomy! What's Sonia to do? Hide it and hope she doesn't get caught. She planned all along to just dump the kid at an orphanage. When she did get caught, she just started lying. And she lied for 18 years.

"There are a multitude of sanctimonious rich folk in this TN with stones at hand ready to fling and the only good life is one that is privileged (and we ain't talking middle class neither)."

I wonder if this was one problem with the ratings for PSMA. There really are no characters the guy on the street can really connect with (Isa...maybe. And that's a big maybe.)

Mau and Andrea are easy to connect with, but they didn't have nearly enough screen time.

Art & ABrat lost one thing really and that was Eugenia. That's it. Oh, Art lost a little money and getting sued but Isabel floated him a loan out of her business, daddy was there so he wouldn't go hungry and Marcela has jumped in with millions. He'll divorce one and not pay her a penny and marry his fathers choice the same day. What a cushy life.
ABrat, so she hooked up with a guy that wanted her for her money, she didn't lose a dime. For a year the girl has been living it up with her older bo. She saw Fernando, wanted him, wanted him to be her first, wanted ever body to shut the hell up and accept him and she got all that and then some. Now she gets to walk around with her bottom lip hanging out for another 10 years. What a deal.

I agree Sara. There's really nobody to root for except Ileana and Gabi. I really fear for Gabi's life because she's the only one in this TN who questions and goes after answers. I hope she makes it through.

Also, just to throw this out there for discussion - we do have one "wild card" we haven't seen for a while. Gema, Agatha's god daughter. If she shows up for Agatha's wedding and spots Dante and outs him as the one who robbed Isa's penthouse and Tita knows he was Isa's driver who knows?

Sara and Kathy, ITA w/you both that Sonia "giving" money to Mari is so dubious it wrecks of something. But perhaps its just poor writing.

The Sonia and the Richies thread is interesting. It is true, if she had been raped, they way these people, especially Osvy, are looking down on her is ridiculous. Is this some type of cultural nuance American audiences are not understanding b/c the child was placed in an orphanage and not thrown out? I know this is all mute b/c she is lying but the smugness of some is very off putting and perhaps why audiences are not connected.

Tofie thanks for the list and your thoughts on So-not.

Thanks so much for this excellent recap of a depressing and scary episode.

Perhaps Sono had twins..Mari and Borlas. They look similar and are close, I think that Sono is one of those people who lies so much that she even lies to herself.

I would like to see Gema come back and uncover Dante, His poor parents.

I agree that the villains are going to start turning on each other, yay.

I think that Isa will survive , but her happy ending will probably include forgiving fArt and Aragant which does not make me happy. Isa and Gabi need to go out and find good guys who deserve them.

What Isabel needs is Jack Bauer to save the day.

Bauer can expose the whole conspiracy between Feo, Sonia, Dante, etc.,

I'm still the Dead Pool body count will skyrocket before May 9th.

Sonia is the female version of Charles Logan: lie after lie nonstop.

Well said, Susanlynn! Aragant is right!

Thank you Sara for a great recap. My favorites: Este needs the Duck up and waddling, and the recapper's card: (Art) a pox on you and your orange pants, buster! And of course the shout out to Carlos with: NEXT! Carlos, I hope you are enjoying Gretel/Maria in that ridiculous blond wig.

I've not heard of the recapper's card before but I got it right away! Art is whiny and the MOST unattractive and annoying galan - term used loosely - that I've ever, ever seen. Can't. Stand. Him.

There are many things yet to resolve in the ten episodes left but I can only see Dante spilling the truth b/c no one knows where Isa is. Course Sonia's gotta be really mad at Feo and I'm sure will turn on him. Feo is the only one who knows that Sonia killed Eugenia. Or does Lucero also know? That's gotta come out before the end as well.

I'm looking forward to Dr. Evil's anvil. I sure hope it is a good one. And Feo deserves the Kendra Feretti demise - something as gruesome as a coyote dinner. Or better yet, the Kimodo Dragon's tongue cutting expertise.

Probably Ara and Este will be reunited but isn't it just a bit creepy that she slept with his dad? Yikes!

As the Gringo would say, must see TV!

Gema as wild card--I like it!!!

Aragant--YES! Perfect!

IRT the Recapper's card. I don't think there really is one, but I know I'm bad about not giving details when I don't like a scene/dialogue. I figure I watched it the first time and hated it; I'm not gonna watch it again just to transcribe the details. I at least try to include the general theme of the lines. Last night was just such an occasion. fArt is being an orange betrousered a$$.

LoriLoo, that is just beyond creepy. If I were either Aranza or Esteban I would be seriously freaked about that.

@LoriLoo, mauling by wolves is STILL too good for him but something just as or surpassing putridly, morbidly and overall visually beautiful executed as that is long overdue. (I never really bought Kendra's fate was plausible since Espanto just left her in a cave....some random and conveniently located cave not to mention the wolves ready to feast on her to kingdom come. Sometimes I think he had planned that for quite some time and that it was no coincidence but what the hey, it was some demise!)

As for the Kimodo Dragon, Hair-Yellow-As-Pissadora was in for her punishment (AND MORE! Like someone said she possibly died in a jail-fight which I can imagine. Oh what a glorious image TBH.) and gruesome it was (No more frenching with Dionisio for her.) She seriously made Tia Carlota look like a saint (and the funny thing is Carlota was a self-proclaimed saint cause you know, saints "justifiably" murder and commit how many sins in the name of love?)

You know, Soni's demise should be at the hands of Fab since he DID say he would go to the ends of the earth to find out who was the hussy whom bedded Rude-olfo in their variation of Sex, Lies and VideoTape (Also, since Rude-olfo's last name is Noriega, I have my beliefs he is Borlas' dad.)

This novella is a real page-turner.

Sara- Such a funny recap! I am about to dive in and watch this epi in ff. So glad that Mari and Dan, and Gil and Agatha are paired up. And now we have (near) certainty that Sonia and Feo are Borlas' parents. Poor guy! But, that means he inherits Gil as a grandpa, Dan as an uncle, and Este and Angel as siblings. Not bad!

I wonder if we will ever find out who was the blonde who abandoned Mari. That still remains a mystery.

Corazon- The name Borlas used to get a job at the casino was a fake one, not his real name. In fact, I believe it was the name of one of the real Fernando's bosses, who Efrain bumped off.

Sorry- I meant the real Javier's boss.

@Vivi, Well let's think about the possible blondes in this show. Is the only other blonde in this novella Dena?

Corazon- Except Almudena is too young and had never been in Mexico until recently. She's also unable to have biological children.

That's right. Maybe the blonde hair was a wig?

Yes. Perhaps a disguise. That makes sense. I guess we and Mari will never know.

I still think Zenaida is her mom since they kinda look the same but that's just me.

Vivi, I love your new photo as well. (New for me b/c I haven't been commenting on caray for a while.)

I forgot that Fab wanted to know who was doing his uncle. I see there is a lot of ground yet to cover in ten episodes.

I remember on AB team good guys got a few over on team evil. Not like this where Feo always seemed to have the advantage. Although I still think Dante will somehow help out, he still deserves a very heavy anvil. Not to mention Dr. Demented... maybe she should be left to the coyotes..

The gringo is back but I don't know where to start. There are so many great comments and quite frankly, many of you guys are smarter than me. There has been so much behind the scenes sex going on for about 15/20 years that I am quite confused at this point. This one cheated, that one played around, who was the father,
who was the mother, rape or no rape---GOOD GRIEF what a bunch.

Sara---You said I hope that Dante is the one that unleashes the inferno on his way down to hell. I like that. He's on his way to the fire and brimstone but before
he gets there, he has the video.
Ok---the video shows So-not kissing Feo but was that before or after she married Fab? If it was before, what would it matter to him? She married him not Feo.
And why would Fab care about a rape [? not sure] that happened to her years ago. Tofie said that, I agree. So what's that to him? Ok, it's just lie after lie with So-not maybe Fab just can't take it any more. Sonia is on her way out with Fab so where does that leave her. She sure isn't working. Back to Feo? He thinks she is an idiot.

There was so much these last two episodes. Poor Dafne can't get a break. Este admitting that he doesn't love her right next to her bed. First she gets a bullet and then she hears that Este wants to dump her for Aranza as soon as she recovers. How do you think the duck is feeling right about now?

Tofie---Do I have to say it? You know it's true. I didn't mention Thursday's list or your list from last night but they're winners as usual. You nailed it---Fernando diabolically brilliant and Dante as a slug. Oh and lets not forget
Cuca---my bad.

It's late, more tomorrow.
the gringo

Fabricio would care about her concealing anything this important.

Art should be telling him about everything Sonia did after Eugenia died. Remember also that none of the good guys know yet that she killed Eugenia or even about her grifting. Combined with the fact that Sonia knew Feo before that is more than enough for Fab to want an annulment.

Sara, thanks for this great recap. So many great one-liners.

Wrt why every one is mad at Sucia about the baby; a theme in every TN I've evr seen whether Uni, Telemundo or Televisa is that a child, even one by a hated, irresponsible, father, is to be kept to term and loved by the mother. You should separate your angst, hatred of the father from the child. It's a strict yet consistent pro life message in
keeping with the anti-abortion stance in Mexican tns.

What Sucia did, in addition to still lying about the origins of her child, was not separating her hate for the father and ensuring her child was reared in a good home when she had the means to do so. She could've told Don Gil she was preggers and even if she hadn't kept the child, they would've made sure the child was reared in a middle-class home.
I'm watching La que No podia A Mar right now on YT and Ana Martin's character had a child via rape and while she couldn't rear the child in her own home, she stayed on as a maid in her rapist's house after he died to make sure she could be around her daughter. In Mexican tns, as long as you tried to love the child and ensure her/his health, you get good mother credit. Sucia doesn't get it b/c she dumped her kid and never had pangs of guilt about doing it. Given her upper class status, she didn't have to do that. She
only had to take responsibility by telling Gil and fixing the situation. Sucia's cardinal sin was having no motherly instinct, EVER.

One thing missing from this TN is mothers. We have some on deck to be (Isabel wants to real bad) and Ally adopting but outside Tita and Andy they're all dead or portrayed as crazy like Fab's. I get Mexican TN's tout the maternal instinct however in real life some are too young and make a mess, too selfish (like Sonia)and want to do their own thing or know the environment not conducive. In Sonia's case being a mother and the fallout of a pregnancy just didn't fit her lifestyle, while not admirable in my book not a sin. (I shutter to think what our princess ABrat would do with a child. My guess it would have a nanny as she ran off and played). Conjecture. but I think Fernando impregnated another teen girl and unlike Andy, Sonia first tried to leverage that with the rich dude she was dating and when that didn't work decided on orphanage/adoption. My real issue with this TN is it is assumed, regardless the circumstances, if you have a titled family name (the ole feudal patronage system) a child has hit the lottery and a horrible crime to keep them from their winnings. Tell ya, I'd take what Andy did with Esteban and Angel and what Katia (deemed nuts because she kept Fabrico from a privileged upbringing) did with Fab over what Tita did with Bruno any day.

Thanks Urban and J desde NYC for your insight on Sonia. Your right
J NYC, no motherly instinct or love on Sonia's part. She clearly didn't want the baby or to be bothered with it, but I guess that she felt that if she left it at the church, that it would be well cared for and out of her hands. I do wonder that even though the baby was out of sight, was it out of her mind. Did Mari's
tears bring back just a "little" motherly instinct? Then again, if the baby was Borlas---why a bank account for Mari? AND--- was she REALLY raped??? Sonia the mystery
lady.

Sara said that Por Siempre is now running 3rd behind LQLVMR and QPTR
I can understand Robo being in the lead although I'm a Por Siempre Mi Amor guy, but Que Probres Tan Ricos in second place?
Que Probres doesn't look that good to me at all. I would choose Te Quiero over that one but as I said---Por Siempre is the one for me.

A lot to comment on and I haven't even gotten to Isabel yet. My problem right now is that I am stuck with a Honey Do List, so I will have to come back to Ms. Gonzalez later this afternoon.
the gringo

I think the ratings for Por Siempre have gone up simply because it is ending....and because it's pretty intense right now!!

Que Pobres really is a cute show, but it's definitely a comedy which can take some getting used to.

I am in the middle of watching the epi now and watched the scene where everyone got upset with Sonia. They and Fab didn't get ticked off until they caught her in another lie. She was just in the middle of tearfully saying she miscarried the baby after a few weeks, when Fab entered, knowing that was a blatant lie and demanded she tell the truth. He was upset that she was yet again lying, and doing so quite convincingly. His argument with her was about not being able to believe a word that comes out of her mouth, not about her giving up her baby.

The older folks, Gil, Tita, and Ossie, were upset that she just dumped her child, without even knowing what happened to him. They are the ones who brought up the fact that this is not something a mother should do, not Fab. I think Fab was totally justified in his reasons for ending things with a woman who does nothing but lie. And I think the attitude of the older folks was perfectly in keeping with their age and their culture. Perhaps had Sonia told how she personally tearfully handed over her baby to the care of the Church or the orphanage they would have been more understanding. And also had she not JUST been caught in another lie to them they would have likely had a more understanding attitude. But I think they were all fed up with her and her callous attitude about everything.

J desde NYC- I think you are right that women in TNs are expected to love their children no matter what the circumstance of the conception. Those that dont are clearly villanas. In Sonia's case...and this is just conjecture on my part...she actively tried to get pregnant. To her the baby was a means to a profitable end. That really makes her vile in my book.

To over think this more-I'm a grad student so I go to school to overthink-the idea of not giving a child your last name as Sucia did to her kid was repugnant in Latin society because apellidos matter not just as a matter of prestige-knowing the right person with connections in Latin society really affects your everyday life since political life is basically an extended family-patronage system. Your apellido or your connection to an apellido gets you a job, determines who you can marry and if the police/authorities will treat you fairly.

So by not even acknowledging her child secretly-by leaving a monthly stipend or a college fund, for example, to ensure said child was cared for, Sucia left her offspring totally unprotected-look at how hard Mari and Borlas had it-when she could've done more.

I also think the baby abandonment coming out will be key to making the Eugenia
killing accusation stick because in this culture baby abandonment and murder are kissing cousins.

Sara, I agree. Sonia is all about dinero and nothing else. She wasn't raped.

I think Feo is the father of the baby boy she abandoned and I think her greatest sin in this situation is lying about it and having no conscience about the lying.

I have real issues about rape resulting in pregnancy is handled in novelas. That abortion isn't even considered an option is really sick to me because nobody can predict the emotional outcome of this. The situation in Mi Pecado is the worst one possible and I'm sure it's happened many times in the real world.

On another note, it will be interesting to see who gets the Best Villain award at the next Premios. Hector Suarez Gomiz for this or Segio Sendel for LQLVMR? It's got to be one of the two.

J desde NYC- "To over think this more-I'm a grad student so I go to school to overthink..."

That just made my day! I'm starting grad school in May...so I can overthink. I have to write a thesis and I'm already wondering if I can somehow make it about TNs. LOL

Urban-Sergio will win it. PSMA didn't get high enough ratings.

Sara-do it! If you're doing a Latin culture speciality of some sort it might fit. I so would do it if I could. I always look at tns, as corny and sappy as they can be as secondary documents on Latin culture. I always hearken back to things I learned in the three Latin American history classes I took when I watch tns.

Feo or Pedo for best villano-a close tie. Sergio Sendel always creeps me out since I first saw him as galan in 'La Esposa Virgen', so I'll give him the win on ick factor alone, though Iaven't seen Robo. Feo is totally despicable, though, for trying to kill his own child and Miguelito.

Know I've made fun of the guy but Hector Suarez Gomiz made Fernando one of the nastiest, sadistic villains ever. Dude creeps me out. Like the smile and wonder when Dante started to tell him about the Esteban attempt. He was surprised Dante had tried already initially but then asked right away if The Duck was dead with a smile on his face and a little laugh when he heard the bullet hit her instead.

If I'm Dafne, I'd be PISSED OFF too. Took a bullet for Esteban and while in the hospital, he tells you to your face that he doesn't love you.

How long before Borlas and Ilena become a couple ?

Is it possible Sugar Daddy is Borlas' father ? Once Fab finds out Sonia was the one banging his uncle, Sonia better get a flight out of Mexico and FAST.

How long was Sonia boinking Fab's uncle, though? And her anvil should come with lots of scovil units for that particular piece of perversion.

The Raisin was a lover Sonia took during the time jump. I think the last scene with Lucero and Sonia pretty much cleared up who the baby-daddy is-- Fernando.

On what planet would Borlas and Ileana be a couple? I hope that doesn't happen

Yes, Fernando is the baby daddy but I wonder did he know and how in the world will we find out who it is? Could Lucero spill where she dropped it?

I eagerly await when Aranza finds out she bumped boots with Esteban's daddy and with LoriLoo it just too weird. How would either of them square that? Esteban has in his mind she will be his wife one day and they are saving themselves for marriage. Things are cruising along and she meets a pudgy dark stranger and within the month she has slept with the guy and "In Love". See ya Esteban. Ok, if he was just some dude maybe Esteban deals with it but his daddy got served up on a silver platter his dream girl. What does Aranza say to this...well if I had known he was yo daddy I'd found someone else. So they get married, have kids and as teens do start asking hey mom did you date anybody before dad. Uh, well, uh I almost married your grandpa but your daddy stopped me. Guess Esteban can get Aranza to show him some of his daddy's moves.

Aw, tofie! I like Borlas and Ileana :-)

"...dark pudgy stranger..."

My you do have a way.

Great googly moogly I can't wait for next week's shenanigans!

So next year for best villano.

Hector Suarez-Gomis(He is the splitting image of his damned daddy and the best male villain since Dionisio Ferrer)
Sergio Sendel (I believe that when he won best villano for Destilando Amor, Alexis Ayala in Juan Querendon, Fabian Robles in Muchachitas and Bouffy from Pasion were seriously ROBBED)
Mark Tacher (if they take the PESE way and he undermines like Plutarco did...)
Salvador Zerboni (Quiero Amarte. He didn't really need it in AdP)

Ok---work is done for today, so it's time for more. Too bad that most of the crowd is on the East Coast or near there, but here goes.

Sara---Your little kitty looks so happy.

Tofie---Guess Esteban can get Aranza to show him some of his daddy's moves. Good Grief!!! How do you come up with them? You know Tofie you're gaining a cult following.

Isabel---Much has been said already but since Por Siempre is a favorite of mine, I'll put in my two cents. Some have mentioned
how the writers are making Isa suffer. True, but I think that Tofie hit the nail on the head when she called Fernando diabolically brilliant. I know that there are more ladies on this blog than men, but let's face it, Isabel isn't the smartest lady on the block. She married a creep although she didn't know it at the time and he robbed her blind while still married to another woman who had his two children. When Isa found out that she had been taken to the cleaners and then met Fernando's other wife---She did what any respectable person would do, she along with Andrea brought charges against him. The big problem, especially for Isabel is that diabolically brilliant Feo is smarter than her, plain and simple. Ok, she's smart in business but not so much in other areas. And so Feo, out for revenge, get's the upper hand and has her committed. She wakes up after being knocked out and finds herself in a straight jacket and in a padded cell in the manicomio.
We all know that the best way to try to handle the situation is to
stay calm and to try and reason with the doctor in charge. But---
Isa panics and throws a tantrum. Not a good move especially in an asylum. Isabel, try to get to a phone. Beg them to let you make a phone call. If they won't, make friends with others who are there.
I'm sure that someone can make phone calls, not to do so is inhuman. Call Gaby, Gaby will know what to do. However---my guess is that Isa will have to suffer a little while longer because once you are committed, you don't get out the next day.

I CAN'T WAIT for Monday to see where this is going.

I have been watching small bits of Robo. Segio Sendel is one mean
bast--d. Who will win best villain? I think it's up for grabs
the gringo

UA: my eyes popped when I saw "scovil units" in your comment! I applaud you but you being on the east coast you are probably in bed.

But I know that Gringo is still awake.... keep up the great comments. You will soon know the difference between great TNs (Amor Bravio, La Que No Podia Amar) to name just two and CI. You should have seen Susanna Gonzales in LQNPA...... stupendous!

And tofie, you are a gem no matter on which coast you reside. Or somewhere in the middle..

I was still awake when you posted, but barely.

Completely agree about SG's performance in LQNPA, which was a great series.

I definitely think Hector deserves best villain. He might be the absolute worst (in terms of evil doings) villain I've ever seen. In fact, I have to wonder if Hector is going to need a break after this role to decompress.
Sergio's Pedro is not that different from others he has played.
I like LQNPA well enough, but I don't consider it a great novela due to too much typical rn stupidity.

I really do think Fernando has taken villains to a whole new level. Trying to kill and kidnap BOTH his kids, seducing and sleeping with his son's girlfriend, and killing Isa's baby all sealed the deal for me-- I can't think of worse. The only thing he hasn't done is rape, and he tried a couple of times with Isa-- earlier by brute force after she found out he was swindling her (thank goodness for Gema, Gabi and Hector), and recently by drugging her (interrupted by Art). And he does it all his evil with such glee.

With evil like that he might actually take over Hell.

In the end, Aranza and Art will continue to HATE Isabel.

No happy ending!

Vivi, I agree Fernando is the winner over Pedro. Such an honor! They are both monsters but Fernando merits it as he wanted to kill both of his children.

My affection for Susana Gonzales has tainted my analysis of here character. I have staunchly defended and excused her and will likely continue to do so. But I must admit that clearly, she has made and continues to make bad choices. Savvy in business but lacking in real life decision making has contributed to what has occurred.

gringo, you wrote and captured what I was thinking perfectly. I thought everything you wrote was exceptional and insightful especially: "We all know that the best way to try to handle the situation is to
stay calm and to try and reason with the doctor in charge. But---
Isa panics and throws a tantrum. Not a good move especially in an asylum".

As you noted, "Isa will have to suffer a little while longer because once you are committed, you don't get out the next day".

Sigh.

On a brighter note, nice to see so many comments!

Diana

ITA that Feo is definitely in the top ten male villain hall-of-fame. However, I don't think it's his smarts as much as the utter stupidity of the good guys. That's the thing that bothers me about a lot of novelas-the good guys lose until the end because they are so braindead and naive, of which are definitely, Art, Isa and Ara.

I'm watching LQNPA right now and I'm loving it! I almost didn't watch through the first cap b/c of the 'extra' typical novela theatrics that typically make me roll my eyes-the scene where Bruno and Ana Paula first meet was lol funny when it wasn't meant to be BUT it gets so much better after the first cap that it's worth watching.

Jorge Salinas, as always, was a treat, because even in a wheelchair he had so much presence. He's the only galan I can imagine pulling off being that much of a jerk to get what he wants and still have you rooting for him to get the girl. Rogelio Montero was very much like Dr House, another character I loved, so I got Rogelio Montero's ironic sense of humor. I about died when he said, after arranging the protas bad luck to get her to marry him, how unlucky she was that maybe she should get a spiritual cleansing for her house. I was rooting for him the whole time even though Jose Ron is ok.. Susana Gonzalez was excellent in it,which is why I'm wondering how she landed a 'too stupid to live' character in Isabel.

LoriLoo---Susana Gonzalez in LQNPA
you say was stupendous, I completely agree. In fact---up until her performance in that one,
I admit that I generally focused more on the story or what was going on at the time in the story than on the acting itself but that all changed with Susana's performance as Cynthia Montero in
LQNPA. I was blown out of the water watching her great performance. I was furious when she wasn't even nominated in the TV Y Novelas awards presentation.
I wrote my friend in Mexico who is in the entertainment industry and screamed/ranted my head off about favoritism and corruption in Mexico. Well Susana Gonzalez not only was nominated but did win best actress for her work in Amores Verdaderos. She was so happy as she walked up onto the stage to receive her award--I was
cheering for her.

Looking at tonight's previews for
Por Siempre, it looks like another temper tantrum in the manicomio. Isa is being restrained
and led out of the room. It looks like there is going to be some more time for Isa's suffering as Feo's scovil units edge higher.

I can't wait---counting the hours
until tonight's epi.
the gringo

Diana---Don't let your affection for Ms. Gonzalez be tainted, she is playing her part as it has been written for her.

Yea---So many comments. Susana, Feo and Por Siempre are brining them on. Siempre is #1 in the comment section this weekend and very well deserved.

J desde NYC and anonymous---Too stupid to live? Remember it's the acting not how smart or how stupid you are in the role you are playing. Susana is bringing on the INTENSITY that her part demands---I say, a GOLDEN OSCAR for Susana. Oscar? Yes, why not add a Latin section to Oscar Night? A write in campaign to get the ball rolling.

Who should win best villain? I thought it was about acting not about how much evil had been committed.
the gringo

Her acting is great, but her character is too stupid to love in this novela. Though I suppose she's smarter than the one she played in Entre El Amor Y El Odio.
I too have a lot of affection for her, and she's half of one of, if not my favorite, novela couples ever in Pasion.

Gringo- It's about acting, level of evil (villains)/likability (heroines/galans), AND also popularity/ratings, when we're talking about the TVyNovelas Awards. And also about who (actors, producers) the TVyNovelas people like.

I love Isa, but she really has been dense.

I guess I'll have to come to grips with her ending up with fArt. She loves him and I want her happy, but seriously a jerk of the first order and he is dead, dead, dead to me.

DEAD.

PS: and thank you all for the awesome conversation this weekend.

I'm sure tonight's episode will give us plenty to talk about, too... Like how much we hate Dr Evil.

Xlnt - I am so glad not to be in your recapping shoes tonight.

Susana Gonzalez is a great actress but the character Isa is 'too stupid to live.' Art and Ara round out the bunch, but Is a is definitely the most loveable one. I have never seen a novela where the leads are as unlikeable. Susana is this novela's saving grace.

J desde NYC

Jorge Salinas' character started out as thouroughly unlikable, but he grew as a person thanks to the love of his lady.

Sinthia started out as a pitiable character and just got worse (I had to quit watching because of her.)

In PSMA, the good-guy characters started out tolerable...and got progressivley dumber, a$$ier and less likeable.

Tofie weigh in. Where are you?
the gringo

We'll have to hold our thoughts on Pedro (Robo) vs. Fernando (Siempre) until the 2015 TVyNovelas awards, because these two tns won't be considered until then.

Isabel is an emotional cripple. Fully functioning adult, successful business owner, (however, she should thank her lucky stars her partner is Gabi and I think the brains behind the success of the business. Isabel provides the creative talent for Casa Arte. Kinda Gabi's Sonny to Isabel's Cher) and the woman does rock a bikini but as a sensitive sort and always desiring acceptance, she expends all her energy for others and has nothing left for herself.

Our Fernando bro can spot a cripple a mile off, going for young motherless or fatherless girls and very naive young women. I forget sometimes that Isabel has no parents and wants desperately to be a family unit. To be loved she opens herself and offers trust without it being earned and is nearly incapacitated when that same person misuses that gift.

Hector Suarez-Gomis has also been in Salud, Dinero y Amor. His name was El Tacubayo. He however wasn't suave and elaborate as FeVer from what I've seen. He was brash and despicable but not discreet.

OK I noticed something that pertain to this novella at the awards.

1st- WHY was Ana Brenda with the actor who plays Dante? They were all next to each other and arm in arm.

2-Be on the look-out for Patricio Borghetti in PSMA because when he was a presenter, they said Patricio Borghetti has a character.

Before I forget, thank you for that great recap, Sara.

Corazon: A google search indicates that Ana Brenda and Felipe Sanchez are good friends, and he called her "mi hermana."

Also, in the entrada, there's a credit for an actor playing a character we haven't seen yet. I can't remember the actor's name or the name of the character, but he must have a pivotal role. Maybe he'll be a new love interest for Isabel. Or maybe he'll just help her break out of the insane asylum in a laundry cart!

Isabel reminds me of Tony Romo and the Dallas Cowboys: when crunch time comes, she makes stupid decisions.
