Lo Que La Vida Me Robo #131 5/14/14: Kids and drunks always speak the truth

Hello friends-work has been brutal this week and I'm bone tired, I'll give you the best recap I can but I already feel Bernie (my one and only brain cell starting to shut down). Here we go:

Boozy pays her madrina a visit:

Fabiola has come to visit Amelia, because it's hot out and because she's a gracious host-Amelia offers Fabiola a drink, Fabi immediately requests a glass of wine, Amelia instead offers her a glass of refreshing juice which makes boozy explode, "why did you offer me other drinks when you knew what you were going to serve me?!" Amelia asks her why she's there and Fabiola tells her she is having issues with Graciela-she is out to get her. Amelia tries to warn her against picking a fight with Graciela and tells her to leave Agua Azul, and sell her lands, she says that Graciela is not an enemy she wants to have. Fabiola says that she wont leave, where would she go, where does she belong (dead in a ditch perhaps? What too harsh?)  In Agua Azul she has Amalia and...."Jose Luis?" asks Amelia, then she delivers a crushing blow to Fabiola when she reveals that Jose Luis is off limits because he is going to wed Montserrat, "when" asks Fabiola, "later today" says Amelia and Fabiola does not take the news well. Sucks to be you Fabiola, sucks to be you.

Graciela Queen of the Lies:

We continue with the scene that ended last nights episode, Montse and Carlota return home just in time to hear Josefina ask Graciela for "Nadias" phone number, Montse demands an explanation and Graceless is quick to offer one, she tells her daughter that Josefina was asking for the phone number belonging to an interior decorator named Nadia-she explains that Josefina has purchased a home in Agua Azul and needs help setting up her home, this is a good enough explanation for Montse and while Carlota is off looking for her purse Josefina explains that she probably won't stay in town for very long because she has another trip planned. Josefina then tells Graciela and Montse about her travels. She went to different beautiful places but also got to see people living in poverty, she did her best to help out, and she felt great joy when children got their first Christmas toys or when she was able to help women get food to feed their familes and she  loved being able to help them fill their pantries, she also helped old folks get medicine and she says that what she did was little she hopes it made a difference and she plans on doing more charity work.

Graceless then takes the opportunity to take a jab at her by saying "how generous of you, but you never bothered to help us or fill up our pantry and from what I remember you ate a lot". Well, this witch has selective memory, I guess she forgot the Josefina lost her money because of HER, but whatever. Oooo I almost forgot, at the start of their conversation Josefina learns that Montse is getting married to JL in ten days, she is invited to the wedding but Graceless tells her that she hopes seeing Dimi with his new beautiful girlfriend won't bother her, Josefina says that she's ok with Dimi and Monica dating, and she agrees that Monica is stunning, and that she's glad Dimi has finally found a woman his mother approves of.

Montse and Carlota leave and  Josefina tells Graciela that she's not leaving until she gets Nadias number. Graciela excuses herself and goes into her office where she calls Pedro, the two of them scheme and get Nadia on the line for her to speak to Josefina, during the conversation Nadia explains that everything in Argentina is okay and she learns two important facts: (1) Montse is alive and (2) She is set to marry JL in ten days. Nadia tells Josefina that she's happy for Montse, JL has always loved her and she is sure he will make her happy. Josefina tells Nadia that she feels better after their talk and Nadia ends the conversation because Pedro is standing behind her and digging his claws into her neck. Oh and did I forget to tell you that this jerk plans to take Nadia back home so that she can be his "woman" again? What the hell? Did he forget about his other wife, and more importantly, why the hell does he want Nadia back when he has never loved her and only used her to further his political career? Die already you poopy head, just DIE!

Best friends forever forever:

JL and Refugio are having a man to man talk, JL tells Refugio that only death will keep him away from Montse, he will not give her up for anything in the world (well $20.00 bucks says this dude wont make it to the gran Final), Refugio questions why he is talking this way and JL tells him this is one secret that he is keeping to himself, he will carry this burden alone, then he changes the subject and asks what the problem is with Refugio and Esmeralda. Refugio says that their relationship has changed, Esme is never happy with anything he does, she is always mad at him and in a bad mood and worst of all, she said she wished they had never married. Jose Luis tells him to work on his marriage, to try and bond with Esme and to remember what brought them together in the first place, meh, I think Esme can do better.

In La Escondida, Esmeralda tells Zulema all about her woes. She's fat, unhappy and her husband is interested in someone else, a woman that's a total 10, who has a career and who he won't be ashamed of, Zulema is rendered speechless as Esme says that if he ever catches her husband with that other woman she will end him.

Sandro and his two women

Sandro meets with Graciela and tells her he thinks it's a bad idea for him to come to the wedding, he is sure that Montse won't want him there (like, duh) and Graciela agrees, the plot against Fabiola and he flirts a little with her, saying that he can't wait to taste her skin, she says he will "have it all" when she recovers Benjamin's fortune, until then dream on, he asks if he can see her the next day and she tells him to give her a call as she slithers away.

Later that night Sandro is sitting in the living room of Fabiolas beach house when she comes looking for him, she expected him to be in bed with her so that they could have sex, he tells her that he won't be sleeping with her and that's when things get real. Fabiola asks why and he tells her that her drinking is going to ruin her, and that she makes him ill (me das asco-you make me want to throw up), and that's nothing you say to this lush who puts him in his place real fast. She tells him that she pays him thousands of dollars to do as she says, he is nothing but a gato (hired help) and a golfo (male whore, slut, kept man) and her employee and he will do as she says, and will purr when she wants him to. She continues by saying that he is a shell of his former self, he is older and has lost his charm. He thanks her for her input and excuses himself. Oh Fabiola, don't you know that you can catch more bees with honey than with vinegar? Also, it is always a bad idea to upset someone who knows your very dirty secrets. Girl, go back to school and take a course on how to be an effective baddie, or if all else fails just watch Graciela and Pedro, those two could teach you a lot.

Old friends and a new love

Josefina arrives at a local restaurant/bar and asks for a table for one, as luck would have it Adolfo is also there and joins her at her table, they talk about old times and he tells her that she was the only woman who could save him and the only woman he has ever loved-in fact he never had a steady relationship with anyone after she left (I guess selling drugs and killing people eats away at ones time), Josefina tells him that he has never had a serious relationship with any one and then asks if he ever got his wallet back from his "friends"-he says he never got it back and she jokes about whether he can pay his tab, he tells her he can and offrs to pay for her meal as well, she declines and just then Dimi and Monica also happen to walk into the restaurant.

Dimitrio tells Monica that the food at the restaurant is awful but that the drinks are great, he then notices Josefina and Adolfo and excuses himself-he goes to their table and makes small talk, he wants to know if they arrived in Agua Azul together and is told that no, they just happened to bump into each other, Josefina tells him not to leave his girlfriend alone and Dimo says that she is well taken care of, then he tells them the next round of drinks is on him and excuses himself. Monica comments that it looks like he is unhappy at seeing his ex-wife with another man and he tells her that he is not bothered at all, he explains that Adolfo is an old friend and promises to tell her more later. She wonders if he would rather go somewhere else and he tells her that they should stay and have a few drinks, we later see Josefina sneaking a few looks at him and Monica.

Victoria-will a child do what so many adults have failed to?

We fast forward ten days into the future Pedro has finally taken Victoria out of the house and he happens to bump into JL, who is out for a walk with Laurito. Pedro wonders what scum like JL is doing out on the streets and JL says that he wonders how a criminal like Pedro is still walking around freely, Pedro tells him to watch it, he is Governor of the state and very well respected, the men continue to trade jabs and finally JL grabs Pedro by the collar and tells him that he is now the chief of police, Pedro looks surprised.

While the two men went toe to toe Victoria and Laurito ran off, she explained to him that Pedro took her from her home and that she lives in Argentina, Laurito tells her that his dad JL will protect her and will kill Pedro with one punch (ha, we wish). Victoria asks why he calls JL his "dad Jose Luis" and he explains that he has two dads, Jose Luis and Alejandro, who died and looks after him from heaven, he offers to show her a picture of Alejandro and when he does Victoria says "I know this man, he is my uncle Alenjandro and he is not dead!", Laurito accuses her of  making up stories and calls her a liar, Victoria replies that she does not tell lies. Oh my, might this child do what so many spineless adults have failed to do and bring to Montse's attention the fact that Ale is not dead?

Meanwhile Alejandro and Victor have made it to Mexico and are only hours away from Agua Azul.

Fabiola and her traveling wine:

Fabiola shows up at Montse's house, she tells her she's brought her some very fine wine and Montse tells her that she wants nothing from her, not her wine and not anything else and shouts for her to get the hell out of her house. Fabiola tells her she brought the wine especially for her and that she will drink it! Then she throws a glass of wine on Montse which ruins the wedding gown, Montse calls her "stupid" and delivers a good slap, viewers everywhere cheer.

Tomorrow: Alejandro arrives in town and finds out that his wife is alive!

Eli, thank you for the recap in spite of your fatigue, Loved "me das asco-you make me want to throw up" you translated this whole scene with Sanho and Fabho with a lot more color than the CC's did! Highly amusing, Eli!

Monse in the wedding dress-stunning dress, but she looked uncomfortable like it was too tight and those breasts were just fighting to get free-looked like she couldn't breath. I had sympathy for her, i hate the corset feeling. BAN SPANX! Sorry, I'm from the era as a child I wanted my training bra and later wanted to burn it...but I digress.

Of course Monse will find out about Ale (no spoiler, just going by past stories) right AFTER taking sacred vows in a church with JL, y'all must know by know how these stories go!

Eli,
Thanks for giving us this awesome recap, despite being so tired. Never forget that you are appreciated. I just loved your wit and humor throughout. Especially loved your telling of how Fabby told off Sandro.

I hate that the baddies are still winning. Even though Laurito was told that his Papa Ale is alive, from the looks of the avances, the wedding goes on. Maybe Ale and Vic got to town too late. Plus, they think Montse is dead. They weren't planning on stopping a wedding. It really sucks that JL is keeping secrets from Montse. When she finds out the truth JL will have no excuse for his actions.

I liked seeing Fofito and Fina together. But I loved it even more when Dimi and Monica showed up. Interesting exchanges coming from Fina and Dimi. There is something there, but neither is willing to admit it.

The scene with Victoria and Laurito was so cute. And yes, Eli, finally someone in Aguazul declares that Ale is alive (thanks Vicky). But will Laurito tell his mother? More importantly, will Montse believe him? By the looks of the previews, the wedding goes on, but who knows? We've been fooled before. More later, must get sleep.

Off to bed...hasta pronto!

From someone who has also had a crazy work week and a cold, I can tell you I couldn't put together a decent paragraph and yet you have produced an amazing recap Eli! Picture me bowing in admiration.

"dead in a ditch perhaps? What too harsh?"

Love this! And no,not harsh. Fabs was one raging b**** last night and rather unpleasant to watch. She looked positively possessed during that tirade to Sandho. Think she just lost herself her ally in thievery. Think Gracie and Sandho will have fun planning the lush's demise.

No one ever listens to the poor kids in these TN's until it's too late. But thankfully the truth is out, so I'm interested to at least see the reactions from Monse if she hears. She brushes it off and marries JL anyway, I don't know, that would seem strange to me. Love of your life, wouldn't you want to know for sure?

Boy, JL didn't look like a happy man at that church. And no wonder he and Refugio have always had such a bromance. The idiots think alike...anything wrong, has to be the woman's fault, or someone else, because it's all about the their egos not seeing the forest for the trees. Could have used some of Fabs' wine and drowned those two with it. Esme deserves better.

Yep, Dim and Fina are too very proud people who also need to just be honest how they really feel. But there is a good vibe there though having the Scorpion now back in the mix doesn't make me happy.

Daisynjay

"Die, you poopy head, just Die!" and many aother entertaining phrases made this recap so much fun. I agree Fabiola could learn a lot from Graciela and Pedro. Thanks, Eli.

Emarie, I agree: BAN SPANX!

My favorite parts: Montse slapping Fabiola; Graciela looking visibly bored as Josefina talked about how great her charity work made her feel; Fabiola calling Sandro a "golfo"( what does that make her? lol)

My least favorite parts: Esme's rant made me want to yawn; Pedro patting Victoria on her head as if she were a dog.

The wedding and Ale's return shoukd make a good episode.

Jarifa

Great work, Eli.

I'll see your bet and raise you 20; novela writers have a way of having characters predict their own endings. Of course, if Monse finds out Alejandro is alive in tonight's episode who else thinks she won't be able to boink JL and the marriage will not be consummated?

As soon as Fabiola walked into Monse's place uninvited I could have predicted the outcome of that scene. Red wine + white dress = deliberate act of destruction. How childish. As to Fabiola's later scene with Sandro, I'm sure it's sealed her fate in his mind.

Eli, I am sorry you have had such a hard week. I must commend you (and Bernie) in creating such a marvelous recap in spite of how exhausted you are. This was wonderful - thank you so very much.

"where does she belong (dead in a ditch perhaps? What too harsh?) and "Girl, go back to school and take a course on how to be an effective baddie, or if all else fails just watch Graciela and Pedro, those two could teach you a lot" were fantastic. I also enjoyed all the captions and my favorite line was "Oh my, might this child do what so many spineless adults have failed to do and bring to Montse's attention the fact that Ale is not dead?" Well said!

Every day the similarities between Fab and Graciela become more evident. However, Graciela is not uncomfortable in her solitude but Fabiola is bereft because of it. While I applauded her stinging diatribe to Sandy "...he is nothing but a gato (hired help) and a golfo (male whore, slut, kept man) and her employee and he will do as she says, and will purr when she wants him to", she is pathetic and yet unsympathetic.

God bless Victoria and Laurito. Victoria, the lone voice of sanity and reason.

Why has Amelia not fled? She is an intelligent woman and must realize what Pedro has planned for her. And of course, Nadia and Victoria are in grave danger as well. Nadia's tears and heartbreak seem all too real.

I did not care for Monse's dress at all - it was not glamorous (likely the intent) and agree with Emarie that it was way too tight.

daisy, enjoyed your "Could have used some of Fabs' wine and drowned those two with it. Esme deserves better" and totally agree. Hope you feel better...

Jarifa, I also thought Pedro's head patting of Victoria was loathsome. That must be his version of Graciela's forehead thump.

So, will they are won't they? I wish I cared more - right now I'm consumed with the safety of Nadia and Amelia and wonder when Dim and Fina will come to their senses and get back together.

Eli, thank you again!

Diana

Fab was some crazy shit last night ..Sandro is probably just using her for money.I think either Sandro or Fab will end up dead by the end of the show.We know nothing of Sandros past but from what we seen he is some dangereous beast. I hoped that with the "refreshment juice" ,Amelia meant acid juice! Atleast i hope Fab will be able to stop the wedding for a time with her wedding dress antic, probably not!

When Pedo smiles ,crows die from cancer, please be nice to them !

However old Sandro is now he could do far better than Fabiola. In fact, I'm sure he does.

He may be a fox, but Graciela is a boa constrictor. He should be able to run faster than she can slither.

Eli:

Marvelous recap from start to finish! I hope the rest of your week is not so busy.

I too liked the line, die you poppy head, just die! I wish Peddy would but we have a bit to go yet. I too don't like Peddy patting Vicky on the head, he keeps doing it and it's so annoying!

I had to laugh at the thumping of the chests of JL and Peddy. I am so glad that JL didn't back down from him, insulted Peddy and then told him, hey man, I'm the Chief of Police so there, nanny, nanny, boo, boo!

I did like the scene with Vicky and Laurito. I too wonder if Laurito will tell Monse what Vicky said.

That scene with the wine glass and the wedding dress was very telegraphed. Did Fablush really think she can stop the wedding with wine on a wedding dress? Fablush really hasn't the brains.

I can't wait for tonight to see what happens next!

I took that head-holding, patting by Pedo to Victoria as his child version of the neck grip he was giving Nadia when she was on the phone. He was giving Victoria the ability to walk in the sun and be out, but it was a warning that he had her under his control the whole time.

I keep wondering, how will he explain this sudden reappearance of his wife and child without anyone wanting to delve into the details of what happened to the other people on the plane. This town could use a good investigative reporter.

And where the heck is EZ anymore?

Oops, sorry that was me on the last Anon post, Blame my slip on this blasted cold.

Daisynjay

Investigative reporter sounds like a good narrative voice for a capitulo.

Pedro does seem to be getting fairly delusional. He seems to think he can recreate the Norman Rockwell family he envisioned before Nadia became pregnant and make Amelia disappear without anyone asking the relevant questions. There is no magic wand he can wave to change anything (or he would have his avocados and tamale back).

Pedro grabbing Nadia's neck was scary. We can only imagine his plans now that she is blind. The actress is really bringing home what it is to be blind.

Thanks, Eli. This is a terrific read. Being tired doesn't seem to have affected your wit one bit.

Daisynjay, sorry you're still fighting that stupid cold. Hope you feel better very soon.

Yeah, Pedro's controlling grip went beyond the awkward pats on the head; his hand was like a suction cup keeping a death grip on the child's head -- until he got distracted.

Emarie and Diana, I bet AB couldn't wait for Fabiola to spill the wine on her so she could get out of that absurdly tight dress. I was surprised she was able to sit down in it.

The Adolfo/Fina vs Dim/Monica scene in the restaurant was a recapitulation of a scene years earlier. Only that time, Dim was with Virginia. I have a hunch Monica's fate will be similar to Ginnie's. [I'll think differently when Dim starts having Eye-->Mind experiences featuring the captain.]

BTW, Eli, I think this was ep. 131, not 130.

Thanks, Eli, for going above and beyond to provide us with a great retelling of last nights episode.

Well, we all just knew that the red wine was going to end up all over that white dress. I guess Fabulush actually did Mony a favor because the bodice of that dress seemed to be a size or two small for tiny Mony's ample bosum. Whenever I see Fab holding her glass full of wine , I think of Billy Joel's "Bottle of Red, Bottle of White" except Fab seems to only guzzle the red. I get a kick out of her showing up places toting wine glasses and a bottle of vino...It seems as though her motto is "don't leave home without them ,". Maybe she grew up around Boy Scouts...be prepared...you never know when someone might be out of wine.

I wonder where Mony got the other wedding gown that we saw in the advances. Does she keep a spare in her closet ? Was it from her first wedding to Ale?

Dim and Fin are meant to be together. next

Fofo does look muy sexy since he has crossed to the dark side.

Thanks for another most entertaining recap, Eli. Now Bernie deserves a well-earned break, he certainly served you (and us) well.

Poor Montserrat, could she have been any less perceptive last night? First she buys Graciela's hasty explanation of the other Nadia. Really? Why would Josefina seek any type of recommendation from Gracie in the first place? And then she stands there in that whiter-than-white wedding dress facing an unhinged psycho clutching two glasses of redder-than-red wine... Gee, what could possibly go wrong?

I thought that Josefina and Adolfo made such a stunningly elegant couple last night. I've always enjoyed Verónica Jaspeado, I just wish that she'd show up in TNs more often. In CME, although I'm sure Chema was supposed to evoke sympathy, I almost despised him. Now Ferdinando Valencia has won me over with the much less than admirable Adolfo. I think this guy may be ready to step into the role of a full-fledged galan.

Could Vicky and Laurito be any more adorable? What cute kids.

Carlos

Daisynjay..one word...probiotics. I started taking them this fall and got through the winter with no colds or flu even though I did not get a flu shot this year. I always get at least one cold every winter around Christmas.

Carlos..that is funny because last night I had the same thought about Fofo looking like galan mateial. He has stunning good looks..that coal black hair and dark eyes. He is playing more serious now which makes me think ..galan. He no longer seems like a callow youth. Now he is someone to be reckoned with.

" thought that Josefina and Adolfo made such a stunningly elegant couple last night"

So sad to have to agree knowing the man Adolfo has become.Maybe the love of a good woman like Fina would have put him straight...maybe it still could if Dim is too slow on the uptake, though I hate to see Fina go through what I'm sure Carlotta will be facing at some point.

And I agree about the actor--I've always liked him, but he does have a tendency to play the schmucks or reformed bad guys in TN's. Last night, he could give some major Galans a run for their money. And he has those eyes....I would rather see him over a Soto or Zepeda.

Thanks all for the well wishes on fighting this bug. Feel I'm on the mend, but just really tired and not loving being at work today.

Daisynjay

Fernandino Valencia definitely looks better with a traditional haircut. However, his face is not fully alpha. He will never be a primary lead.

I'm sure Adolfo was not sickened by shooting a pimp dead.

From the promos, it looks like Montse's 2nd bridal gown is much prettier than that first one. Just my opinion. Maybe Fabiola did her a favor.

Jarifa

Carlos: "I've always enjoyed Verónica Jaspeado, I just wish that she'd show up in TNs more often". Absolutely! Talented and beautiful, what are these casting directors waiting for?

I'm in the galan camp for Adolfo as well. Galans don't have to be mesmerizingly handsome (Levy). Warmth, charm, and personality all what constitute a galan IMHO. Beautiful eyes and extraordinary lashes (in Adolfo's case) do not hurt either.

Diana

After a disastrous return trip to Aguazul thus far, Fina finally showed a touch of class last night at that same restaurant, and she was also a bit coquettish, clearly enjoying the attention from those two man-children. (Why are there always so many cars whizzing by that place)?

I can see she and Dimi hooking up again; they could become the Aguazul version of Bill and Melinda Gates.

Eli- What a fabulous job you did on this recap, despite your fatigue. Thank you!

I have not watched this show in a number of days now, and just can't seem to make myself watch it. It's partly that I'm just bored with the JL-Monse-Ale triangle, and disgusted with all the other storylines, especially the Pedro-Vicky-Nadia mess.

I think I will watch tonight to see what happens with the wedding debacle. Will they do an exact repeat of what happened the first time when Monse married Ale?

Ferdinando Valencia/Adolfo should never take the galan role. He is just so good in these secondary roles, he gets to mix it up, and he gets way more jobs/roles I think. He does not always play the schmuck.

En Nombre del Amor- Sexy bad boy, in love with villainess, bff of hero, reformed at the end.
CME- Sweet good boy, in love with an older woman and then her stepdaughter, dies from illness.
Por Ella Soy Eva- Closeted gay man, uptight, ambitious, perfectionist.
Hasta Que el Dinero…- Sweet, naco, boxer/tough guy named Rizos.
La Fuerza del Destino- Insecure, rapist, rich country bumpkin, good ole boy. Maimed/disfigured and commits suicide.
Mentir Para Vivir- Slimy grifter and murderer. Killed by fellow villain.

Oh Eli, this recap was just sparkling from start to finish. I refuse to believe that you and Bernie (your one remaining brain cell) were exhausted. You covered everything fully and accurately...and wittily. If this is how you function half-dead, watch out world! Eli IS A FORCE.

Die already you poopy head, just DIE!

and

dead in a ditch...too harsh?

My absolute favorite asides. Keep 'em coming.

Love the lethal romance brewing between Graciela and Sandho. She is playing him very well. I'm quite sure she'll come out the winner; he is a stealth novice compared to our Gracie.

Yes, Montserrat is that dress last night...ouch! Looked as if it had been made for her before she had the implants. Those poor silicone globes were just being squeezed like oranges. Have mercy!

And speaking of oranges, a friend of mine has a breathtakingly healthy maiden aunt of 95 who religiously eats a California orange every morning. NOT a Florida orange. A California orange.

Like Susanlynn, I usually have one horrendous cold a year around Christmas or January. But I started to get a second one two weeks ago and ate an orange. And felt fine the next day.

Placebo? Hey, who cares? It worked. Anyway, prayers for healing and good vibes for everything to you, Daisynjay.

And Eli, hope you get some rest today after blessing us with that wonderful recap. And if you start to falter, eat an orange!

Eli thanks so much for the recap. Hope things get less busy at work and you can get some rest. And just die poppy head is my wish for Pedro as well.

I'm with Diana and will be very happy when this wedding is over so the focus can return to secondary characters like Dim and Fina.

Daisynjay, hope you feel better soon. Work is always less than pleasant when we're not 100%.

Great recap Eli. I wish my few brain cells worked as well as your one!

Really?! Do we have to watch Montse get married? Probably, given that we don't seem close to the end. But what next? Do they go on their Luna de miel so that she will finally fall in love with JL only to return to find Ale? Ugh. Really, can't we just kill off the bad guys and get to happily ever after?

UA I'm hoping you're right and the marriage won't be consummated. BUT, once they find out that Ale IS an Almonte, what does that mean for her? Does that make the first marriage legit and therefore the second (to JL which I guess is technically her third) illegit?

I have to say one thing I'm enjoying about Fabiola is that the actress (Lisette?) was SO sickeningly sweet in AB. Kinda fun to watch her being so horrible now.

Re Adolfo, I wonder if the writers are going to try to pull of a Dimitrio with him. Is it possible that they can resurrect him -- have him take down Pedo and EZ-- and get away with it under the guise that he was only killing low life drug dealers and pimps? Dunno, just a thought.

Looking forward to tonights show, but the advances have been so misleading. I'd have thought Ale was coming back weeks ago from those clips. I really hope we don't have to wait till next week. It's starting to really drag....

Later!
Becky

I've been rooting for Fina and Fofito since she showed up at his house. Their chemistry is really nice, and I'd like to see Fina get some action considering Dimi definitely is. Of course, we know things about Adolfo that don't make them a good match, but I do think his feelings for her are sincere.

Sandro says that "he can't wait to taste her skin." Blecchh. Blecchh. Blecchh. Hey..this Golfo is in for a big surprise because I am thinking that Gracie's skin is going to have a very bitter taste.

"Fabiola and her traveling wine"...HA..good one. She really should invest in one of those tote bags for the bottle and glasses. I am always concerned that her Drunkeness is going to break a glass as she is transporting her vino all over town

About Ferdinando being a galan it would be cool but i think playing playboys/schmucks are his current speciality. How would you think about Osvaldo Bonavides,he has such potential,i love his eyebrows and he cant be stuck playing just brothers forever( Miguel in La Que No Podia Amar& Dimmy).

I’ve been sick or I would have commented sooner. Thanks all you awesome recappers for keeping me up-to-date with what’s going on.

Oxnard: your Toyota Tundra comment from yesterday had me cracking up.

Daisy: DQTQ2 is the TN I’m “watching” (I’m only scanning Robo). I love it. I also want to sit at the Marcelo table. This is my first TN of his, but I think he might actually knock FC off my fav galan pedestal. He’s so much fun to watch and easy on the eyes.

Carlos: I have to say that the actress who is playing Maria is really bringing it. That scene where she begged Adolfo to kill her had me in tears.

From what I read/heard, Ruffo’s next is going to take over for Por Siempre and El Color will be the next after DQTQ2. Will SN’s be after Ricos? I could have sworn I heard/read (or maybe it was a dream) that Univision was going back to a three new TN prime time lineup possibly leaving the 10:00 slot for other programming (maybe reruns of past TNs?)

Nanette

Osvaldo played a very different role in Daniela, which was a pretty good novela. I didn't even realize at first that it was him when I saw him in LQLVMR.

Too bad that Fendi doesn't carry out a line of bota bags. Fashionable, elegant, handy, and safe. A perfect accessory for Fabiola.

Carlos

Rebecca, I like your idea about Adolfo. I was thinking the other day that our list of people that have been evil, bad, manipulative, etc is sooooo long, that we couldn't possibly see that many people bumped off by the end of this TN. And the fact there is usually some collateral damage folks along the way, someone maybe like an Amelia, makes the list longer.

So if they keep showing us this soft side of Adolfo that might be their method to their madness. He turned dark because he was forced to and because of being weak...he becomes strong, but dark, but eventually brings those same evil people down.

Now you could argue he should be bumped off too considering the people he killed, but then there's the problem of Maria. She can't hook up with Ale and I don't see them killing her off. I wonder if the writers are going the Luciana in Quapos route (the Laura Flores role). She falls so hard she becomes an alcholic sitting in the streets ( Maria becomes a drug addict and working the streets). She is pulled off the streets by someone who cares for her though she wasn't good to them and put through extensive rehab which also comes with counseling. I can see that with Maria and she'll see was manipulated, maybe even abused (we haven't seen but we always thought maybe....) by her dear uncle. Sees the error of her ways, and Adolfo as the dark hero who loses his real love Fina and who takes down the bad guys goes off with her to start new lives....I could buy into that.

No spoilers...I'm just sitting here sipping some afternoon tea at work and thinking how easy it would be to write one of these shows instead of dealing with spreadsheets and stupid questions.

Carlos your comment about Gracie's cover-up made me remember that I also cracked up at that. Really? Who has to make an urgent call to her designer?!

Hey Eli--Great recap as always and so funny! I love reading your work. I'm late commenting because I'm preparing for the final in my Spanish class tonight but this is my last class for the semester. Will comment more next time! Thanks again, Eli! Best, Julia R

This episode moved along rather quickly and you didn't miss anything in your recap Eli. Thanks for doing this despite your tiredness.

Loved your lines:

"Sucks to be you Fabiola, sucks to be you."

"Die already you poopy head, just DIE!"

"I guess selling drugs and killing people eats away at ones time"

As I mentioned yesterday, I had thought it would entertaining to count JL's annoying "hmmms" but last night there were only 2 I caught, and unfortunately no head thumps or "te hace falta Jesus" I was actually imagining how funny it would be for little Vicky to do it to Pedro one of these days

Speaking of Vicky, Novels Maven you made me laugh out loud with your description: "Pedro's controlling grip went beyond the awkward pats on the head; his hand was like a suction cup keeping a death grip on the child's head" Yes indeed! Comparing the body language between JL and Laurito and Pedro and Vicky, that man has no idea how to treat a child. How is hoping to pass her off as his in front of the community?

Agreeing with all who saw ahead of time that the wine and Montse's wedding dress were going to become one. I was like "Montse remember the last time you had a lovely dress on and Fab a glass of wine in her hands!" She didn't hear me I guess. Anyhow, Susanlynn you are probably right and Fans did her a favor. That dress was horribly tight. It was like the costume department picked out a dress they wouldn't mind getting ruined and squeazed Montse into it!

Well here's hoping Ale makes it in time to stop the wedding. I won't hold my breath though.

Oh by the way, loved little Vicky and Laurito together. Maybe the fate of Aguazul will rest in their hands.

Eli - Love the title and will enjoy your recap later tonight.

Wow, that dress was strangling poor Monse's boobies. For once, Fab came in handy.

Someone really needs to drive the point home to that drunken cow that desperation isn't pretty.

We now have the shoes being on the other feet with Alejandro and JL: Wedding, fugitive, and an ugly deal with Gracie. History repeats itself.

Thanks, Eli. Very enjoyable recap of a show I'm having a hard time finding time to actually watch lately. I need to jump back in! Y'all are making it sound so tantalizing!

Vivi, on his list of roles you forgot FV's spin as a horseman who was always working in the stables and taking his shirt off to cool down in Tormenta en el Paraiso ;). Good guy; married a sweet young thing who was terminally ill. That was a good show; it was a bummer it was on in the afternoon so we didn't have the discussions every day here.

Although, I would favor our Dimmy as a galán also. He's very compelling to me even when he's being a schmuck.

Julia- Ooh! I didn't see that tn. Have they shown it again?

I haven't seen it in the listings again. I didn't watch the whole thing, but I saw a lot of it toward the end. Wild endings for some of the villains (death by a gazillion beestings, for example).

Eli, thanks for a great recap. Maybe being tired was a good thing, , cause you really let it rip!
I enjoyed Fabiola's attempt to put Sandro in his place and his more successful riposte. When he tastes Gracie's skin, he needs something to wipe off the bitter taste.
I'm afraid no one will believe the children who know Ale is still alive.
