Por Siempre Mi Amor #112/Mexico #151 FIN- That Sucked (™ tofie)
Fernando (Feo) gives Arturo (fArt ™ Corazon), Isabel (Isa) and Aranza (Ara) time to say their goodbyes. He takes Sonia out of the cell. Sonia starts telling him she loves him and he says he loves her, too. Outside he shows Sonia 4 graves and tells her who each one is for: Arturo, Aranza, Isabel and YOU! Goodbye, Sonia. She starts blubbering and telling him she'd never betray him. She loves him! They're partners! Feo tells her she betrayed him when she fell for Fabricio (Fab.) She swears she didn't love Fab. He was just part of her plan. She begs FEo not to kill her. They have a son together!!
Esteban (Este) arrives at the lair. He calls Agente Rosas and gives him directions.
Sonia continues to beg Feo to spare her. She kisses him and he shoots. Este hears the shots, as do the prisoners inside. It sends Ara into a panic. Este tells Agente Rosas about the shots. The police officer tells him NOT to enter the property. Este ignores him. He's goin' in!!!
Feo's shot was not fatal, but he is putting the finishing touches on Sonia's grave. He has buried Sonia alive!!! She screams to no avail (And yes, Susanlynn...that TOTALLY should have been Feo's fate.) Finally, she runs out of oxygen and passes out.
Inside, fArt is begging Isa to forgive him. He was stupid. (Ya think?) Isa tells him that as soon as she was able to escape the manicomio, all she could think of was seeing him. Ara begs to be forgiven, too. She admits she turned her father against Isabel. She didn't love Isa enough and doesn't deserve her. All Isa ever did was love her and want the best for her. She again asks Isa to forgive her. Isa says there's nothing to forgive. Ara will always be her daughter.(Oh my gourd, Isa...did those drugs affect your memory??? Sheesh!) They are all alive and it's all that matters.
Feo returns with Este sneaking in behind him. Marcela (Dr. Skankenstein ™ xlnt) is awake and wants to know why she's locked up. She sees fArt and tells him not to believe anything Feo told him. Ara tells her to shut it. They know everything. Feo tells Dr. Skankentstein she is of no use to him any more, but fArt will be the first to go. All the females start screeching and begging Feo not to kill fArt. (Deep down I sorta hope Feo kills him. fArt deserves it.) The llantos get to be a bit much. Feo takes Art away. Este sneaks up to the cell and tells Isa and Ara the police should arrive soon. He gets the keys and lets them out.
Feo shows fArt the graves. Feo won't be able to live in peace until everyone is destroyed. Andrea and Isa ruined his life. He had everything and they left him with nothing! fArt kicks the gun out of Feo's hand and punches him. They fight. Viewerville thinks fArt is knocked out, but he jumps up and punches Feo again. Then fArt just starts beating the crap out of Feo. He will pay for everything he's done to his family! The family is free and runs out to see fArt holding the gun on Feo. Este takes the gun from fArt and tells Feo he'll shoot if he has to. Feo is nothing to him. He abandoned them and that is actually a good thing. If he hadn't, Este would have grown up in a household filled with hatred.
Marcela is still inside and is hallucinating. In her hallucination, fArt is telling her that he will love her foreverzzzz.
The police have arrived and the arrest Feo. Feo grouses about not being done with Isa and Agente Rosas tells his bald and bearded partner to take Feo away. fArt fills in Agent Rosas. Sonia is buried alive over here and Dr. Skankenstein is inside alive. Ara wants Isa to be checked out by a doctor. The ambulance is on its way. Isa and fArt canoodle and love talk. She's safe in his arms. (Blech.) Ara still can't bring herself to kiss Este since she boinked his dad. Eventually she does, though. Gabi and Bruno arrive and there are hugs all around. fArt thanks Gabi for opening his eyes and says there was no excuse for how he treated her. Ara thanks Gabi as well (hypocrites.) Gabi and Bruno take a moment to make their relationship status public. Este asks about Almudena. Bruno glibly replies that they are separating. Bruno tells fArt to call his dad. Mauricio and Andrea arrive on the scene and there are more hugs.
The police bring Dr Skankenstein out in cuffs and she screams asking what fArt is doing with "that woman." Isa warns the police to be careful with Dr Skankenstein. She's capable of anything. The police are warned about Feo, too. Agente Rosas says that without Dante's testimony, they couldn't have done anything. fArt tells Bruno that Feo confessed to blowing up the building.
fArt, Isa and Ara go back home. Osvaldo, Tita and Fab are waiting. fArt tells them that Feo and Doc Skank are under arrest. He breaks the news to Fab that Sonia is dead and that Feo killed her. Fab haz a sad.
Feo asks the police how they are going to prove his identity. They tell him they will run a DNA test using his children.
Este wants to stay married to Ara. Dumb azz. Ara agrees.
Bruno and fArt are off the hook for the building explosion and they are no longer being sued. The building owner has apologized. They will return the money to Doc Skank...well, to her lawyers. Isa and fArt tell Mauricio and Andrea about Ara and Este's secret wedding and how Sonia made them marry so Ara could collect the trust fund and hand it over to her aunt.
Gabi has kept the ring Bruno tried to give her years ago. She proposes to Bruno. Dumb azz part deux. Bruno soggily agrees to be the best padre and husband he can be. He loves her with all his heart. They hug and Gabi has lipstick on a tooth.
fArt and Isa consult with a Doctor about the baby. Isa recently underwent a stressful ordeal and was given tranquilizers. The doctor says that's not good. They can do an amnio at 14-20 weeks. The baby may be born with problems. Isa explains the pregnancy is a miracle. They will love the baby no matter what.
Feo is booked into prison.
Isa and fArt have a romantic dinner al fresco with really bad musical accompaniment and a falcon (W.T.F?) He proposes again. I secretly hope she says no, but of course she says yes. Dumb azz part trois.
8 months later, Feo is sentences to 120 years + the 20 he didn't finish serving the first time. He will not be allowed visitors. They lock him in a maximum security cell.
Marcela has been committed to the Doctor Santa Psychoneurotic Institute for the Very, Very Nervous (™ Mel Brooks High Anxiety.) She talks to fArt and tells him she misses him.
The picture of young Ara with Eugenia has been replaced with a picture of fArt, Isa, Ara and Este. Isa and fArt are having a big dinner for friends and family. They tell Lucha and Gabino to put on their finest duds. They are not staff tonight. They are family.
Zen and Balty are in love and adopted two of the hats. FF.
Mari has gotten her diploma and she will go to University. Dan is proud.
I guess Gil and Agatha adopted one of the hats (Tlacayo or whatever the name is; he changed it to Pablo.) Pablo wants to be a military pilot. Gil is over the moon.
Dafne the Duck is scrubbing the concrete. It's a deal she made with the landlady in exchange for rent. The Duck tells herself that Este will come soon to rescue her. Looks like she'll be joining Doc Skank one day. I completely agree with Susanlynn that Dafne did not deserve this heavy an anvil. I'm telling you the monkey writers hate women!
fArt makes a toast and the friends and family dinner. He and Isa are so grateful to them all. Her water breaks. Everyone loses their appetite.
Feo runs into Efrain in jail (What happened to maximum security.) Feo has a makeshift shiv made from a toothbrush. Efrain's men attack Feo. Feo has the upper hand...for a short time. He is overpowered by Efrain's men. Efrain has the toothbrush.
Isa is in labor. She prays. She gives birth to a boy. Everything seems fine. She and fArt snuggle the baby.
Feo loses his eye and has a huge scar. "I'm a monster!!!" he screams. You're alive, you douche. By rights you should be dead. You should be thanking the misogynist writers.
Isa is thrilled and thanks fArt for giving her this happiness (referring to the baby.) fArt thanks her for being a wonderful mom. Ara and Este come to visit. fArt and Isa have decided to the name the baby Eugenio in honor of Eugenia who surely was taking care of them from heaven. They ask the nurse to take a family picture.
4 years later it is Eugenio's birthday party. Everyone is there. They sing and he blows out the candles. They all release white balloons.

What about the deleted scenes in the gran finale ? I feel like more scenes were cut.
Ferd deserved Sono's fate.
Daffy did not kill anyone. Two living , rich parents and she is in the hood scrubbing the cement. Que? A little harsh considering she took a bullet in the back for the Bonbon.
What was up with the falcon ? Was that supposed to be romantic ? It wasn't.
Just as we thought, fArt and Ara murmur "Sorry" a few times and Isa and Bonbon forgive them.
The high point for me was seeing Borlas in a nice suit , still rocking the ponytail ,holding hands with the sharpest chick in this novela .
I'm with you Susanlynn- seeing Borlas in the suit rocking the ponytail was good for me. The falcon scared me.
What did Uni have against this novela?
Would it be okay if I commented too? I have been meaning to do so for this novela for awhile, but I had been waiting for it to be over in order to share my opinion.
Susanlynn, the falcon reminded me of Amigas y Rivales, when Roberto asks Laura to marry him the same way that Arturo did with Isabel.
Was that a long scene or what? It seems to me, that the writers didn't know what else to show us after the beginning of the finale, and ended up filling up air time with long unnecessary scenes such as this one.
Did anyone else besides me wonder who the two children were at Eugenio's birthday party? The teenager and the young lady? Seeing Esteban and Aranza there, made me think that perhaps the young man in the back was Angel, but later on as I kept thinking about it, it made me think that perhaps it was Uriel, and the young lady, Nuria. But the teenager, really doesn't look close to what Uriel does. It really isn't convincing.
Also, shouldn't Gabriel, Gabriela's son, be older that Eugenio by at least a year? He looked too young to me.
I didn't like Sonia's ending. In the survey that was available in Tu Opinion es Importante, one of the questions was, how I would like Sonia's finale to be. I answered the I would have liked for her to die a suffering death. This wasn't really what I had in mind (being shot at and buried alive). It just seemed pathetic to me. (the acting and the death scene). I expected more.
As for Fernando, in the same survey I also answered that I wanted him to die. I always thought that he would, seeing as how prison didn't work, and he was able to escape easily. So I thought that death would be the way that the writers would go, but I was surprised that they threw him in jail again. Very disgusted at what happened to his eye. Who would've thought that a toothbrush could be used to cause harm that way, especially with the end of it.
The promos in Mexico, always said that this would be a finale that would stay in your memories forever. What happened to Fernando is the only thing that one can actually remember later on in the long run, considering how poor this finale was. At least to me.
I wanted her to end up alone because of Arturo's betrayal. Especially after telling his mistress that he had never loved a woman the way that he loved Isabel. Everyone remember? That was when he was still with Isabel.
And let's not forget that after thinking that Isabel cheated on him with Fernando, that he mourned for her. And that mourning lasted only two seconds before he got into bed with Marcela.
Another thing that I didn't like about the finale, was that Borlas never found out that his father was Fernando, thus never knowing that he has brothers, Esteban and Angel. And never knowing that he had a family with Andrea and Mauricio as well. Especially after saving Angel without knowing who he was (and never will).
Also, at the end, why did the story have to skip four years? If we saw Eugenio's family celebrate his birthday, why could we not see the rest of the cast after that time period and what became of them? I would have like to have seen that.
And could someone please explain to me what the white balloons represented? Peace? Peace in the sense that they were now free from evil? I just don't understand the final scene at all.
Why did the writers feel it necessary to skip four years in order to show Eugenio's birthday? Why couldn't it end at the hospital, after the nurse took the photograph? They could've frozen it there and put the word FIN.
Was the Father really murdered by Sonia (I like the name that you all have for her Sucia, because she really does look hygienically dirty)? It's really hard for me to tell, as it seemed that he got agitated all on his own with the way that Sonia was speaking to him (therefore being more his fault than hers). At the same time she held the calling device for the nurse away from him, so would that then make her the cause of his death?
Speaking about Sonia, Aranza never confessed that she knew that her Aunt had sent the snake to Isabel's baby shower, and that she covered for her Aunt by erasing the video footage of her Aunt delivering the package.
That's all that's on my mind right now about the finale. If I think of anything else I'll post it here, as I look forward to discussing the novela (at least the last episode) with all of you.
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to post!
I also wondered who the teenage boy and the young lady were.
Kelly
But I can't resist Maite. LOL.
I'm surprised they didn't try to dig Sonia up right away.
Will Isa ever know that Marcela spent the night in her marital bed with Art one night? And Ara thought itvwas awesome? Oh right, they were "on a break." But all I could think was eeeewwwww as Isa returned to that house where her torturers and enemies were so readily welcomed, after all those years she'd devoted to Art and Ara.
"Oh, I just didn't want Isa to say I told you so" the story of Ara's life. Poor Este.
That's all folks! Por fin! Too bad we missed the Gil scene.
More perdonames.......
One other thing that got missed in the scene with Borlas and Ileana is that his name is now Juan Manuel.
Yes, he should know that Esteban and Angel are his brothers.
I was satisfied with Marcela's Karmageddon, slightly less so with Sucia's, and totally peeved that Feo was still alive. He should have ended up dead and in Hell.
I love your asides-(Oh my gourd, Isa...did those drugs affect your memory??? Sheesh!), Este wants to stay married to Ara. Dumb azz, Dumb azz part deux. Isa and fArt have a romantic dinner al fresco with really bad musical accompaniment and a falcon (W.T.F?) He proposes again. I secretly hope she says no, but of course she says yes. Dumb azz part trois. Marcela has been committed to the Doctor Santa Psychoneurotic Institute for the Very, Very Nervous (™ Mel Brooks High Anxiety.) Feo loses his eye and has a huge scar. "I'm a monster!!!" he screams. You're alive, you douche. By rights you should be dead. You should be thanking the misogynist writers.
Welcome- Golden Sunflowers- you brought up some good points. Several loose ends were left as you mentioned including- Sucia didn't confess to be involved in the Padre's death.
What was also cut was that Ally was dating and Bruno had an opportunity to meet the gentleman.
I did get the feeling that the writers were anti-women and it showed.
tofie- Amen- to both it sucked and about Isa slipping into the witch doctor's clothes. You also get a laugh out of me.
Isabel probably took some of Maricela's stuff lol.
Poor Don Gil: very sad to find your daughter dead.
Wasn't the scene with the falcon flying down with the ring also a scene in Amores Verdaderos, when Sebastian Rulli's character proposed to the anorexic blondie? I think in Art's case a headless chicken would have been more appropriate.
Best character in this TN was Ileana by far.
Welcome Golden Sunflowers. Your comments are insightful and reflect how many of us feel about the loose ends left dangling and no resolution on important stuff (Borlas, Angel, & Este being brothers for one) and how we really wanted to the tn to end.
CD as TJ noted there were deleted scenes but aside from the Gil being notified about Sonia, most scenes were probably shorten (like that idiotic dinner w/fArt and Isa).
Susanlynn, ITA Dafne didn't deserve her ending (blame the writers) and Feo should have died like Sonia did.
Tofie & Audrey - if only Isa had not returned to fArt we wouldn't have to be grossed out.
UA, this was a really poor finale. Can you think of others that were this lame?
Kathy, yes, Ileana was the best character in this tn and I'm glad she got a happy ending b/c the writers messed over so many other women in this tn pairing them w/lame men.
Sonia I didn't see going down this way. I have no idea how she should have fared in the end actually. I honestly saw her and Fernando before the betrayal committing suicide together like her character and Guillermo Garcia Cantu did in Triunfo del Amor.
Marcela's fate was perfect. It was like something out of a horror movie and I like how they mentioned she had been injected time and time again.
Efrain's fate as top dog in jail reminded me of Oneisimo and Plutarco in PESE. I think if you wanna see him in pain, there are the very first episodes where in one he was punched and thrown on the floor by a guy he made a mockery of.
Dante and Gonzalo were really just the toady goons who obviously were going to execute something they weren't ready for and ultimately die.
Dafne and Minerva were minor antagonists but were over-anviled. I didn't think 'Va would be killed but at least she died noble. As for Dafne, I can't believe she wasn't accepted into her original house.
This final was sweet at the tailgate end where the balloons were released. I'm going to miss this novella.

~ FeVier fan forever ;) P.S. This calls for a riot b'cuz this is an outrage & I cannot accept this terrible ending to a great villain! A sequel must be made to this TN - revenge of FeVier pt 2! FeVier escapes from prison like he did before and returns back to Isa's life to finish what he started and that's killing off ALL loose ends once and for all! Like just shoot them all dead and have his vengeance fulfilled! ;) The End!
Ahh what happen to my name its exo not eco
Exo binary k
I agree that Illeana was the best character.
But great job, recappers and commenters ... enjoyed you all.
Fevier Fan, I'm with you. It was so boring that I wanted Fer to escape again and kill Arturo; and Isa to turn a cold shoulder to Aranza and Gabi to banish Bruno. Too bad Nicolas didn't turn out to be innocent of everything and come riding a white horse to sweep Gabi off into the sunset to live happily ever after with their baby!
I haven't been around much lately what with trips to Ecuador and Portugal taking 1000's of bird and horse photos but still miss my friends here on Caray2. I still watch 3 or 4 Univision TN's per night when I am home. Wishing you all well. And thanks again Sara for making me laugh at this drivel...
I was OK with what happened to Sucia but would have preferred to see her suffer a lot more.
Since FeVier had dug those graves it would have made more sense if fArt or Esteban had punched him hard enough for him to fall into one of them and break his back so that he would have ended up quadriplegic and completely helpless. That would have worked for me in combination with his prison sentence and his solitary confinement.
And the most messed up thing is that they didn't even bothered to check her corpse to confirm if she was really dead or not. Like she could've lived, dammit! But of course it didn't matter cuz no one cared about her and she wasn't as important as the main "good guys" in this story! -_- like THEY'RE the only ones that matter, huh??! It's all about THEIR stupid happy ending, right?! Boo!!! :/ So of course Isa forgave everyone who turned their back on her because they're the "good guys" so they all get forgiven so easily! Lame! -_-
~ FeVier fan ;) P.S. R.I.P. Sonia ;(
One of the reasons female villains' endings seem so much worse is that they often have more weapons at their disposal. Toxic mothers in particular use many psychological strategies to keep their children under their thumbs. Most of the time we only see this happening with the adult child who is the story's protagonist (like Monserrat in LQLVMR or the Elizondo sisters in FELS) but we have to remember that to get that far said toxic mother has to have had a long tenure of psychological warping of the child.
Sonia qualifies because of her continued influence on Aranza from the time of Eugenia's death until Aranza's realization that Sonia and FeVier were in cahoots all along. Her callous abandonment of Borlas and the nasty crap she pulled on Isabel and Art were just icing on that cake. Her skills as a grifter came from long practice; had she gotten away she would just keep doing those things.
Not to mention looking for another rich man to victimize.
I did think that they should have dug her grave to see whether she was still alive, if only because this actress played a villana in a previous novela who buried herself alive briefly to escape.
What she would need is to get a job. She may not have finished college but she isn't stupid. Her delusion about Esteban rescuing her says that she won't go there, at least not in the immediate future.
Andrea and Mau move out of the country, away from Mexico and start an international business company.
Feo pulls a WoFat and escapes from prison, he terrorizes Art by gloating about Isabel's death, etc.,
Eugenio cuts up Aranza's clothes in the De La Riva house. Aranza is devastated....it would be KARMA for treating Isabel like crap.
In this sequel, Art becomes President of Mexico.
If there is any justice in the world FeVier would get shanked in the exercise yard at some future date. The loss of an eye would make him more vulnerable to that.
We must assume that Aranza saw a shrink sometime during the time jump. She definitely needed one.
Dammit, Dammit, Dammit, got my nails done, hair looked fabulous (woke up the humidity didn't kill it), slipped on a new Red dress, shoes just out of the box (didn't plan on staying in them or the dress long), makeup perfecto but all for naught - all dressed up with no where to go!
Fernando - just baiting us from prison as FeVier fan but I'll bite
Esteban - pantywaist
ABrat - don't look so happy
fArt - "Because I'm Bad, I'm Bad-
Come On
You Know I'm Bad, I'm Bad-
You Know It"
Isabel - pass me that joint you must be smokin
Andy - got off with nary a scratch
Gabi - buy some shin pads & call the dog whisperer, you married a leg humper
The Duck - missed a spot
Marcela - "I'm crazy for trying
And crazy for crying
And I'm crazy for loving you"
Sonia - "If the thorn of a rose is the thorn in your side
Then you're better off dead if you haven't yet died" Bernie Taupin
Meth Head - Meth Side story
"Fab haz a sad", "Este wants to stay married to Ara. Dumb azz" and "Bruno soggily agrees to be the best padre and husband he can be" were among my favorites.
There is so much to discuss. While I didn't want Art and Isa togtether, I suppose we must console ourselves in that if Isa is happy, then we should be happy for her. Art clearly does not deserve her but that is how it ended. Nor does Ara deserves Este.
Greatly relieved Eugenio arrived safe and sound...
Glad that we were spared seeing Gil being told about Sonia. Thanks for telling us about it though TJ. Was the fact she killed the padre revealed or was that a secret she took to her grave?
"I'm telling you the monkey writers hate women!" and "You should be thanking the misogynist writers" were spot on Sara.
I took no joy in seeing Feo shoot Sonia. It was a very disturbing scene. Did she deserve to die while Fernando was allowed to live? Is incarceration and losing an eye fitting justice for what he did? No, I don't think so.
Dafne's punishment is but another example of head scratching "justice". Totally unfitting and undeserved.
Golden Sunflowers, thank you for the information. I wondered if Borlas ever find out Feo was his father and you answered my question. I agree how wonderful it would have been to know he has brothers but the knowledge that both of his parents were murderers might have been too devastating to overcome so I'm conflicted. I think he is loved and has been embraced by everyone and is now happy with the love of his life.
Sara, see you on De Que Te Quiero Te Quiero and thanks again.
Sincere thanks to all of the recappers for your excellent summaries. The comments have always been great fun - thanks to tofie for your lists and cd for finializing the Dead Pool Hit list.
Happy Mother's Day to all women!
Diana
Hate torture of anyone no matter the crime: Sonia's, Fer's, whomever, think botched OK execution. We're better than that.
Where was my fab Fab ?? conspicuously missing in the family scenes .. so hoped he'd end up with Alli.
Those two wooden boys at the b.d. party fin. Were they relatives of someone famous that they got tv time? They surely weren't actors.
Yes, would have liked to have seen the Gil scenes.
Lastly, the falcon ???? Damn dumb.
I laughed when Feo got his eye cut out and then he yelled "Im a monster,im a monster!!" and i was like, took you long to figure that out! And Efren is my favorite character now. Feo will have to see him everyday on lunchtime now!
So Marcela is now a part of a new experiment by Dr Santa?! Is he planning to test the theory if elves and witches could live together,in harmony? A Christmas Hat would fit on Marcela with the red dress :) God forbid if she would eventually appear in a Coca Cola ad!
Did Ara take Isa's things to Gaby's place ? Well, it doesn't matter. I want Isa to go on a massive shopping spree and replace all the things fArt and Ara threw out with very beautiful and very expensive items. Remember Ara cut up Isa's clothing on the first wedding day. Isa deserves brand new gorgeous clothes and jewelry from the top designers if she is destined to spend the rest of her days with fArt and Ara.
I am pleased that tassels ended up with one of the names I chose for him. I was thinking either Juan or Jose, but Juan was my first choice.
My first chuckle that you brought to me was---Inside fArt is begging
Isa to forgive him. He was stupid.
Ya think? You also wrote---Ara thanks Gabi as well. [hypocrites]
Right Sara. --- I liked your Dumb
azz and Dumb azz part duex--Dumb
azz part trios. And finally---I'm
a monster!!! He screams. Your alive, you douche. By rights you should be dead. You should be thanking the misogynist writers.
So much to say that it will take all weekend off and on when time permits. I might even have to go into Monday.
Sara---My friend in Mexico who is in the entertainment business says that La Gata has already started and SEEMS GREAT. Great or not---I won't miss this one for anything.
I just fired off a nasty email to Univision corporate for all of the editing that they did on this novela and last night was no exception. I let them know how I felt and it wasn't pretty. I told them hands off of La Gata---if they will listen is still up in the air.
No time to comment further right now or read all the posts but I will---I will read every one.
Tofie--- I did have to go to your list though---it's famous, I couldn't wait.
The Duck---missed a spot Tofie, your bad.--- Your Marcela line was a hoot.
More---much, much more later.
the gringo
The finale might have been more satisfying if they had shown the last 2 hours together. There just wasn't enough action at the end.
I did think the writers did a good job of building up suspense with that crowd that Feo had caged. I wondered if Art in particular was going to make it out alive.
As for Sonia, I expected her to fall backwards into that hole, high heels up.
And Feo, I expected that he would be taken out by some flesh-eating bacteria as a result of that screwdriver injury to the arm.
But FeVier fan, take heart... he could be back in a sequel with a eyepatch and a mustache, just like the Hathaway man, except that his buttoned-down shirt will be fuschia. And nobody will recognize him!
I think that the writers did a good job of keeping us guessing as to the identity of Sono's offspring. Alas, we will never know who Marin's parents were.
Aleta...I , too, was hoping that Ferd constantly rubbing his injured arm as he dug those graves would mean that the screwdriver would poetically have been the source of his painful demise. A useful tool leading to the end of a useless tool. Oh well. Que lastima. Our ending was better.
Sara, I'm glad you enjoyed my points on the novela, and I'm sorry that you're mad all over again!
This has to be the worst finale for a novela that I have ever seen. It was very poor. It could've easily been summed up in thirty minutes.
Never have I seen a novela where the beginning of the finale was the end, and the rest just filler.
I'm very surprised to have read that my points summed up how some of you felt about the ending of the novela. Wow! Thank you! I wasn't expecting that.
I didn't get a chance to write about Dafne (The Duck! My goodness what a name! Quack!), so I'll take the time to do so now.
I felt that there was a lot of potential for Dafne in the beginning of the second arc, when she said that she wanted to take Aranza's place and everything that had Aranza written all over it.
I think that after that, the writers got blocked, and didn't know how to move on from there, and instead focused on Dafne wanting Aranza's boyfriend, instead.
Too bad, she could've been a terrible villain if she had been giving the chance, and the story for it.
I would've loved to have seen her actually obsess over Aranza so much, that in her sick state of mind, would've ended up convinced that she was Aranza, and not someone who was jealous of her and wanted to be her.
That's where I thought Dafne was headed, but sadly that didn't happen.
As for Dafne's ending, when I saw her sitting on the stairs, I thought that we had seen the last of her, but of course I was wrong, and we did end up seeing her in the finale living in la vecindad. Which brings me to my question, weren't Andrea and Mauricio going to fix up la vecindad? What happened to that? Even after they went to Home Depot's site and to the store(off-screen), the vecindad still looks and feels the same.
Too bad they never changed la vecindad, as it would've been nice to see Andrea, Mauricio, Angel, Esteban, Don Gilberto and Agatha, there to celebrate the new look of it. This would've been a great scene for the finale.
Going back to Dafne as I derailed there, I thought that she would die after getting shot, or, that in the end, that she would end up being paralyzed for real this time, or, lose both of her legs.
In any case, I always thought that Dafne would end up losing her mind or dying.
I was disappointed that we didn't get to see Marcela become aggressive at the mental hospital. I would've liked to have seen more of her there, and as the doctor that everyone likes to call Santa Claus (Ho! Ho! Ho!) told the doctor from CI (anyone else not notice?) that this was how she was when she wasn't being aggressive, otherwise they would sedate her, for Marcela to become aggressive and fight of the nurses that would be holding her as she would scream "Sueltenme!" while trying to be sedated. What a rip-off. All we got, was a shot of her face. That's no fun.
That's everything that I have for now.
One kiss and good-by. So-not hurt and killed people, she had to die.
Being shot and buried alive was pretty bad but she deserved it so I was ok with that even though I grimaced a bit. I'm glad that it wasn't me. As always Dominika played her part to perfection.
I was hoping for something more for FeVier but then after I thought about it---solitary for life and a gouged out eye seemed like almost enough. At least he won't hurt anyone again. What I didn't understand was why did Methuselah turn on Feo? That made no sense to me. The two were always working together in crime and Feo never turned against him so why the prison take down? As far as solitary---in America I think that they get like one hour a day outside to walk around. Maybe there is something equal to that in Mexico.
Art the office man suddenly becomes a karate kick boxer and street fighter. QUE??? I did shake my head a little at that one
Tofie---I loved your 5:10 comment about arrogant pompous ass fArt
bragging about it all sometime in the future. That was so funny.
Tofie again---I could never make a list like yours nor would I even try but I think you left out one. Lleana---Party Princess.
FeVier fan---I read your make believe ending from yesterday. You have quite an imagination. Have you ever thought about writing?
Much more to write but I have to get back to work for now and then a late dinner. Tomorrow, Mother's Day, I will be busy for most of the day. I don't know when I will be able to post again. Maybe Sunday evening Pacific time.

Illena and Borlas became the more smarter couples in the end.
Isa/Art, Aranza/Esteban and Gaby/Bruno deserve each other: hypocrites indeed.
Dafne had it coming with her anvil!
Epitome of Elegance, Fairest Of Them All, Beautiful Inside and Out and Brightest Star in the Sky. There is no doubt in my mind that Borlas won the lottery with not Este. Dan didn't do bad either with Mari. She is on her way to college to make something of herself.
Dafne---Opinions seem to be split on her. I'm easy, I'm a softie and felt sorry for her. She was in college but probably had to drop out because of financial reasons. I guess that karma caught up with her. I hope that she sees her mistakes, corrects them and finds a way to move on.
Golden Sunflowers---Why did you wait so long to join in? The more the better.
A few of my notes that I saved from Friday.-- Aranza went from Isa the slut back to mama, perdoname.
Isa---Oh that's ok I know that you didn't mean it. What? That was fast.
For a while I thought that they were going to leave Dr. Crazy in the jail cell. Then the police brought her out and the Arturo Mi Amor's started---Oh well, she tried. Have to give her that much.
Sonia/Dominika was magnificent pleading for her life but to no avail. Because of her past deeds, she had to die.
So why didn't FeVier die? In a way he did. Everything he wanted in life was denied him including an eye. He will be spending a lot of time alone talking to himself and I bet in a short time he won't be so pudgy---prison food.
Borlas made me jealous--he rocked
all dressed up.
Dr. Skankenstein---Undoubtedly is still talking to her mama and papa but not in her creepy house. She is now doing her communicating from the nanicomio
where Isa used to reside. She still however calls out to Arturo
her mi amor.

I literally am turned off by Guy Ecker after reading how quickly his Art turned on Isa after Isa tried to bait Feo. Galans never give up that easily on a prota even if they do despicable things. This dude was basically awful after Eugenia, who was played by a great actress, too, died. I excuse Ara's awfulness somewhat because of who her Dad is and how he created a lot of her issues.
The villains truly made this tn because they were smart while the protagonists were too dumb to live most times.
Dafne's anvil was too much because her parents were awful and had much to do with her awfulness. Plus, she took a bullet for Este. She should have went off into the sunset with Cristobal, the dude that was crushing on her at the beginning of the tn who she rebuffed.
I'm glad this is over. I hope to see something with Jorge Salinas or Cesar Evora to see some real good acting in a tn again.
Gringo - thanks! & actually, yes I have thought it cuz i like writing tho I'm not that good at it yet but I'm working on it! ;)
~ FeVier fan ;) P.S. The sequel to "Por Siempre Mi Amor: La Venganza de Fernando"! :O Con el regreso de Héctor Suarez Gomis! :D (Yay!)
"Despues de 10 anos en el carcel, Fernando Cordova escapa del prisión de nuevo para vengarse de Isabel y Arturo, de Arranza y Esteban, de Tita y los demas en este historia de venganza -ah, screw this! I'm sticking with English! Anyway, in this 24-ep novela where the heroes all suffer and/or die, minor characters get ignored/taken out, and the villains win in the end, FeVier WILL get his revenge in this story!
And this time, he's a one-eyed vengeful pirate who's able to kill off dumb art already in the 4th episode in a swordfight to death by cutting dumb art's hand off & making him walk the plank on his ship 'cuz that's ending he deserves! Next, his stupid daughter arranza tries to jump after him to save her lame, pudgy father but Fev says "Nope!" & shoots her dead just like that. And then 8 episodes later, his stupid son aka the idiot esteban tries to avenge the death of his stupid girlfriend by challenging his father to a fight that's supposed to make him the hero of this story by defeating him once & for all but Fev just laughs and says, "Ja! Que stupido eres! Eso nunca va a pasar porque tu no mi puedes ganar!" & so he proves it by beating the bastard right away & then he tosses him out into the ocean where he dies fast by drowning. And THEN of course Isa's the last one left alive like he always wanted and that's what the last remaining episodes are focused on of her trying to somehow defeat her crazy ex so she teams up with her bff gaby (who's btw a widow now cuz her lame husband bruno died 7 years ago due to old age) but then FeVier kills her too & tosses her off his ship as well. And so on the last episode Isa is completely on her own now & FeVier is taunting her, calling her "loca!" for some reason & is totally enjoying this moment and then offers to spare her life if she joins his pirate crew and to his surprise she actually does surrender & decides to join the pirate life with him and so finally FeVier got everything that he wanted! :D But then oh no what's this? "Que tonta siempre fuistes, Isabel!" FeVier decides to kill Isa after all because he's frickin Fernando Cordova aka Javier Castillo who must ALWAYS kill all loose ends! And so he stabs Isa in the heart & says, "Adios, guapa!" & tosses her off his ship! "No! Mi hija, Cynthia!" Tita cries out. And then FeVier's all like, "Oh, AHORA te importa tu hija??!" Y Tita le dice, "Si! Asi es! Y yo no puedo vivir sin ella!" And FeVier says, "Entonces muerete!" XD And then he shoots her off his ship making a large splash in the water. Mwahahaha! NOW his vengeance has been fulfilled at last! But, wait! There's STILL more! Outta nowhere Sonia (that's right she did not die!) shows up and ruins his happy moment by backstabbing him in the back: "That's payback for what you did to me, Feo!" She tells him. And then she tosses his body into the water for the crocodiles & sharks to devour! And so that's how the great pirate Cordova aka FeVier gets defeated at last by his long-forgotten, former female partner-in-crime, Sonia! :O So shocking! And so that's how the story ends, folks! Sonia starts a new life as a female pirate and sets off into the sea for some great pirate adventures on her own! :)
Also Marcelash would be Sonias main female rival!
that would have been good. Join in early next time.
FeVier fan---Join a writing club,
they would love you and you could give each other pointers on creative writing.
fArt---Poor galan? He sure went off after he saw the video even though Gaby was there to explain it. If he had looked at it closely, he would have been able to see that Isa had been drugged.
He let his emotions take control of his brain and his emotions were still in control when it was 4 to 1 telling him that he was wrong. Thing changed real fast when he was told that Isa was pregnant with his child. OH!!! Well!!! That makes a difference!! Come on back Isa, you're forgiven.
WHAT!!!
Susana Gonzalez---Perfection in all her roles is all that you can say. Magnifico.
I vote for Hector Suarez Gomez as best villain --- that's at least two votes VeVier fan.
I would have liked to have seen more of Eugenia. She was very sweet and charming.
Well, it's finally over. Some won't but I will miss it.
A BIG thank you for all of the recappers---YOU ROCK.

CherylNewMex: Thanks for stopping by!! Your trip sounds fascinating! Is your new profile pic one of the pictures you took?
Emilia: I agree that comments and recaps can make even the worst novelas fun and interesting!
Demetrios and Aleta: I agree that is seemed like all the action happened in the first 15 minutes.
gringo: You KNOW I'm going to be watching La Gata!!!!!
Being a male there was no denying that Aranza was beautiful
I however could have cared less for her---I think that her attitude came from fArt certainly
not Eugenia. You are so right about Lleana being a bright and shining star and while Mari had her moments, her bright, bubbly personality showed through. she was shining brighter and brighter at the end.
Sara and Tofie---I have been reading a little about La Gata. Maite the beautiful dark haired goddess from RBD is trying to make a living in the GARBAGE DUMP
OMG!!! NO, not Maite! Will she be rescued by a handsome young prince? I CAN'T WAIT for this one.
the gringo
Gringo - yeah, I really should join one. Sounds like it could be fun & useful for me. I'll consider it.
~ FeVier fan ;)
gringo, I waited until now to comment, because I was far ahead in the novela at the time that it was airing here (I was already caught up with the Mexican airing), and I wanted to wait until it was over so that I could comment without spoiling.
Glad to know that there are some that will be watching La Gata (I'm watching it right now, rather than waiting for it to air here in the States), and I've already done one of their surveys.
I'm not going to spoil the story, but get ready (and not T.D. Jakes ready) to hear some of CI's background music again (so far I've only heard two pieces in the first two episodes, I have yet to hear more.
And speaking of background music, they sure overdid the sad violin theme they used when Maricruz's father died in CI, here in PSMA. I enjoyed it in CI, and was happy to hear it again in this novela, but as I said, they began to repeat it too much, and now I'm sick of hearing it. Thankfully, it doesn't seem that we'll be hearing it in La Gata.
One impression that I do get about the music that has been used in CI, PSMA and La Gata, is that it's all written by the same composer(s). I haven't checked the credits, but just by hearing it, I can tell that it's the same person, or group of people.
Another thing that did annoy me in La Gata (hopefully it won't be done again), is the constant mention of "Gata Salvaje" by Arena's brother in the novela, to Arena's character, calling La Gata by that name. Everytime that I hear that I think of the novela of the same name. I wish they would stop doing that. It getting on my nerves.
I'm sorry if I did accidently spoil anything, it wasn't my intention.
Besides the comments that I made just now, I'll probably comment when La Gata starts airing here, but I don't know when the novela will air here in the States. Didn't someone say July?
And can anyone tell me what other novelas, besides this one, did Univision chop up so horribly like this one?
I was surprised to see how quickly this novela caught up with the Mexican airing, until I read that it was being edited and episodes were being glued together to create just one. I have never seen anything like this before.
For years I always thought that no matter how bad the novela was, that the station (whichever that was) would air it in it's entirety without editing, or canceling it.
Which is a whole other issue we've discussed on weekends.
I think the biggest problem this TN had was that some storylines were just unbelievable. If Dr. Skankenstein was obsessed with fArt, where was she when Eugenia died? Why did it take her 21 years to try to re-connect?
Why didn't anyone know that Sonia was talking to Aranza every Sunday night for 10 years? That's a lot of Sundays!
When fArt's company was embezzled why didn't anyone check to see if Nicholas actually had access to a computer? Why didn't Iakani cancel his accounts when he was arrested? There are so many examples of stupid storylines and bad writing in this one. PEAM was terrible but the whole thing was terrible - acting, writing, storylines. The frustrating part of PSMA was that it had potential, but it was wasted and we feel cheated.
And we where never explained how, or when, Sonia came back to Mexico. And I can't remember if how we were explained that she ended up with Fabricio's uncle. How did she meet him? And why did she decide to be his mistress and end up living the way that she did?
Also, it was never revealed that she and Efrain had been caught with their false travel agency, and they fled because of it. No one found out about that.
Doesn't sound like the best finale ever- Feo didn't get what he deserves, Sonia only revealed the baby secret to him, and no one found out about the Padre's murder. Boo! Oh well. Glad Isa's baby was ok.
Right--Where was Dr. Skankenstein?
Sonia and the doctor could have been fighting over the "great prize" fArt-LOL Well I guess that all novelas have holes.
GS---the music. I love music but will have to admit that I am usually fixated on the novela's theme song or songs. I didn't notice the other background music
such as Tita's motorcycle ride.
the gringo
Tita and the biker gang was the comic relief of this story and it wasn't handled badly by the writers or the score's composers. What was bad was:
-- Art getting nasty about Isabel and refusing to listen to the voices of reason
-- Dropped story elements such as the death of the Padre and the full disclosure of Borlas' parentage (despite him being better off not knowing)
-- Any reasonable explanation for Dafne's parents' failure to care for her. More should have been done with this.
There was an incest theme running through this tale that probably bothered a lot of the original viewers, which may have been one of the reasons Univision edited this one down to have it end sooner.
Golden Flower- Welcome! Uni also cut up and combined much of Llena de Amor.
I actually don't think I would have changed a ton of things, but these are the changes I would have made:
- Strengthened Arturo's character and made him more gallant and dedicated to Isa (add a dash of Este to his character).
- Left the Ara Isa relationship alone after the made peace after Miguelito died. Why did we need to go back to the hate-filled relationship?
- Made Ara be the one to work to win back Este's love at the end.
- Had Dafne see the light and get over her Este obsession.
- Dropped the Marcela storyline, and just concentrated on the Sonia-Feo-Efrain-Dante evil plots. This would have cut down on all the unnecessary suffering by Isabel (the cancer storyline), and wouldn't have thrown a new woman into Art's bed. I just hated the whole damn thing about her story. It also made no sense, as was pointed out, that she would have waited so long to come back into Art's life, if she was so obsessed.
First and foremost, this was a story about families and marriages, especially second marriages and the writers didn't delve into the intricacies of those things. They just made Art stupidly marry Isa quickly, making Ara hate Isa and didn't really delve into how silly it was after Miguelito's death. They used Dafne's family life as a foil to Ara's to show that Ara should appreciate Isa more, but after the second half of the tn, they dropped this storyline and made Ara still hate Isa. The one thing I loved about La Patrona was that they never let the message about vengeance and forgiveness be dropped, whether vengeance, even well-deserved, was worth it for the avenger. They faithfully stuck to that Montecristo theme in that tn.
I reiterate what an AWFUL galan art was. What an awful galan! I disliked Art since Eugenia died. I've watched tns where the galans do despicable things that the prota should leave the galan for--I'm looking at you Alejandro from La Patrona and Rogelio from La Que No Podia Amar--and does so temporarily, but the galan NEVER, EVER, EVER gave up on the prota as his one, true love. Art chucked the deuces on Isa so quickly, after TEN YEARS OF MARRIAGE from a church wedding no less, it made your head spin and made you dislike him more because we the viewers knew Isa was trying to look out for them Ara and Art. In LQNPA, the prota runs off from Rogelio after thinking Rogelio had her first love killed; she finds the first love, gets pregnant by him and Jorge Salinas' Rogelio didn't give up on her. Art sees a video, which can be edited to say anything and throws out Isa's stuff out Oran Juice Jones style in the rain. Way to make the audience believe Art is irresistible...NOT!
The Borlas, Mari, hats storyline was good and did a lot to advance the message that adoption is good, but not letting Borlas know that Este and Angel are his brothers was kind of cold. The writers should have made it such that Borlas and Este knew of the possibility and have them decide to not find out, so some such, if the writers decided it would be too painful for Borlas to know that Fevier and Sonia were his parents. That being said, he should've known of the possibility if only so Borlas and Ileana's child and Este and Ara's kids won't enter relationships when they are teens.
Vivi and J ..I agree with your points. I need a galan who is a hero even of he is flawed. fArt was not a hero. I enjoy the idea of people finding their onetruelove and fighting for them . I hated the suffering that the writers decided to heap on one character..Isa. The inevitable doom and gloom is a little easier to take when it is spread around a bit instead of one character enduring so much bad luck.
Vivi. I agree that CI was nonsensical and...just plan weird and far fetched.
your one arm, one leg and one eye ending for Feo sounded good to me also. With all of the evil and suffering Feo put everyone through
he did get off pretty light. Does he get a radio in his cell?
I didn't like what they did to Dafne. she wasn't a bad/evil person--not a criminal, she just suffered from a bad attitude. That could have changed if she had met the right person, friend, padre etc. I think that her ending was a little harsh. Maybe the writers were leaving the door to our minds open so that we could envision something better for her at some point in the future.
I like all the little hat children
they were a welcome relief to a dark and serious story.
Someone [GS?] asked what the white balloons at the end were for or what they represented. That got me also--I don't know what that was supposed to be.
Did anyone see the bikers in the last scene or was that party only family? I think that it was just a family birthday party. You know
happy, happy family.
Gaby's and Isa's sons looked like they had never acted before.
the gringo
I do miss Shut up Doris sometimes
I still feel like for the most part there was a plan to this TN. CI turned into a circo....though it certainly didn't start that way!
Speaking of the party, the child playing Eugenio really wasn't convincing at all.
Hi Vivi from DC, nice to meet you.
gringo, yes, I was the one that made that comment, and I'm glad that Corazon, cleared that up. Glad to know that I wasn't the only one that didn't understand.
There were sure a lot of unexplained things in the finale, the balloons being one of them, and the two adolescents at the party being another. I can't remember if there was something else that didn't make sense.
Like the name ShutUpDoris. That's funny.
I should've named the doctor from CI, Doctor Untamable (when I made my comments), as he has already appeared in CI, and now in this production. Let's see if he appears in La Gata, too.
I was very surprised to see him here. What happened to him? Did he get tired of the rural life, and decide to work in the city instead? If anything it can tell us that this novela and CI both belong in the same universe.
Too bad I didn't comment on CI's finale at the time that it ended, here on this blog.
All I'll say right now about it, is that the novela ended for me when Octavio and Maricruz are eating breakfast together and agreed to meet each other in the city. The final part should've been another novela altogether. A novela that I wouldn't have watched as I found the last part too juvenile.
CorazonSalvaje(;, could you please tell me more about Mi Segunda Madre. I only know what I read in Wikipedia, and that this was it's remake.
I would like to know who was that guy in the finale who pulled the gun on Daniela Castro and Maria Sorte before being shot. Why was he stalking them? And I couldn't stand the background music that played whenever he was around. This is all I know from what I saw on youtube.
Also, why did Sorte's character separate herself from Daniela's character father? Who was the baby that he brought for Sorte in the end? Was it from an affair?
This is all I know from what I saw on youtube.
So many questions that I have make me think of Alma Latina, why did they stop updating that site? I really enjoyed it back in the day.
I agree with the last part since he was bringing forth the baby and asking for her to be " La Segunda Madre."
I'm sure that FeVier fan misses the bad boy. Well, we're finally moving on.
Did anyone else feel a little empty last night without Por Siempre?
Golden Sunflowers--- I don't remember Maria picking the oranges
but I do remember Simona in her fancy ranch wear doing so--people commented on that. As far as the oranges go, at one point in the novela the trees were full of them but later on there were none to be seen. Some made a big deal about no one picking the oranges but there must have been a crew that did it, it just wasn't shown.

I wont reveal the entire spoiler of the story .I am also not sure if i will be able to write AEf because the next school year will be very busy,i also dont know places on where to write fanovelas..
