De Que Te Quiero Te Quiero #80 & 81, Wed, June 4th

De que al menos PJ conoce el secreto, el sabe secreto

Tiburcio (Mr. T) suffers a headache from his guilt

Rod and the Brat (Briggite) chat about their new love nest (icky.)  Irma comes in and he gets off the phone which leaves the Brat mad.  Then Nat calls so Irma leaves angry.  They both know they are being played so leave him or deal.  As recapper Carlos would say, NEXT.

At the fonda, Angela asks Carmen about Abdul, sigh.  Then Padre Juancho (PJ) comes to find out details about the soccer match (football).  He also ask about Gino.  Carmen gets all smiley and tells him Paolo is happy and she is too.  PJ warns Carmen to not play with love.
Mr. T is very ill and his wife is worried for him.  His wife recommends a doctor but he needs to cleanse his soul.  Poor guy.

Irma tells Diego her sorrow with Rod.  Kat I know you mentioned you were a health professional and as humans we are all capable of making mistakes and I agree.  But these tn health professionals make some of the worst decision ever.  Irma can’t break away from Rod though he treats her like a mop and tells this to his brother as she is drugging up.  I’m not violent but want to hurt her.  Mr. T’s wife has to plead with Irma (witch) to get her to look at Mr. T.

The Brat sees Rod at work and is mad she has to share him.  He doesn’t care.  Irene approaches them and the way the Brat scowls at her, I would fire the lemon-faced, obnoxious, skank.

Mr. T. has left the house so Irma can’t attend to him.  Of course his wife is in a panic.  We later see him staggering in the city.

Irene tells Rod about Alonso.  He gets mad at the fact she is associating with her baby daddy.  Irene wonders how he knows this as he isn’t supposed to and Nat comes in and claims she told him.  Then Irene wants to know how Nat knows.....

Mr. T goes to PJ’s still staggering.  He gets to the parish, Mara sees him and he faints.

Nat’s cover up fails because Irene didn’t tell Carmen that Tad was the father of her child.  Then Rod says Grumps told him.  Irene is very vexed and I’m concerned.

Mrs. T calls Grumps and threats him to help her find Mr. T.  Irene hears part of that conversation and tells Grumps he had no right to tell her secret.  He brushes it off as if losing a child is something she should get over.  Grumps calls her hysterical and I’m now really scared for Irene.
Rod and Nat discuss the situation and he gets mad she is not telling him Irene’s personal business.  He demands to know what other secrets Nat has.  She then asks him about his secrets.

PJ finally shows up as the medics put Mr. T in the ambulance.  He has Mara call Nat to tell the Caceres about Mr. T.  Grumps goes off to tend to Mr. T and Rod wonders why Grumps is so concerned.  Nat thinks Grumps is changing.

Poor Irene hurts because remembering her daughter at this moment is very painful.  So I guess we are all going to have to be concerned for Irene at least for this first hour.

Morales admonishes El for using Kimberly.  El’s plan is to drive Kimberly away little by little, good luck with that.  Though he senses its going to be tough because he keeps breaking up with her and she keeps coming back.

Grumps goes to hospital to terrorizes Mr. T.  It’s quite cruel and we see where Rod got all his charms.  Grumps pretends to be sweetness and light when PJ comes in and keeps insisting on Mr. T being insane.

Rod brings Nat to the office to show her options for their luna de miel.  While kissing Nat, Rod has pain in his head.  He thinks the power of her pure love made him feel pain.  I guess we’re suppose to believe his conscience is messing with his evil plan.

The doctor said Mr. T has high blood pressure.  I’m hoping that PJ realizes Grumps is bsing him as he did with Mara’s mom but he did have an epic fail with Paolo.  Grumps leaves Mr. T with PJ.  When Grumps returns, he continues his wickedness asking Mr. T what PJ learned.

While Nat goes with Irene to see fabrics, Rod meets with his scam artist partner.

Hey Mr. T was a good liar because PJ is asking God what to do with THE SECRET about Nat being Irene’s daughter.  Mr. T returns home and Irma and his wife tend to him.  Though we all have to be concerned because Irma is doling out medicine.  Mrs. T badgers her husband about what he said to make Grumps treat him well.  He brushes her off.

Irene and Tad have dinner and she tells him that Diego and Nat know he is the father of her child.  She is upset and feels they invaded her privacy.  Level-headed Tad reminds Irene that they (or at least one of them) love her but Grumps is a different story.  They wonder why Grumps ran to see about Mr. T and Tad assumes its because Mr. T was Grumps’ accomplice.  Later Tad deduces Grumps is hiding something (yeah, good guys).

Rod and Nat goes to PJ and Rod acts like his true self.  PJ misses it as he is clearly burdened with THE SECRET.  PJ suddenly becomes ill and sends Rod to get him bicarbonate.  Nat tells him about the family.  Driving home, Rod starts hounding Nat about secrets because he thinks PJ got rid of him so Nat would reveal secrets.

Grumps visits Alonso about Rod.  Alonso thinks there after positive changes in Rod but Grumps wants him to not do any tests until after the luna de miel.

Irene presents Nat with another beautiful dress.  She didn’t want her wearing what the Brat wore.  Then we have an edit that is so bad that young children could easily surpass it.  We leap to Jaiba tries to make Abdul jealous.

Irene has ideals for a new collection and then her designer friend, Marcelo (from the fashion show and AV) comes in.  He wants Nat to be ready for a photo shoot because she’s the face of Eskenda.  She resists.

Abdul is going to use Angela to make Jaiba jealous.  He needs a hurting on him as well.  They walk slowing past the Jaiba’s place.  Angela realizes his game and tells him if he wants to make someone jealous this is how you do it.  She kisses him and then slaps him for using her.

Alonso goes to Caprico to ask Irene why she didn’t tell Grumps they broke up.  He asks who she is living with and right on cue Tad shows up and says she’s with him.  Al seethes and acts hurt.  Tad explains she’s not with him out of spite and Irene says Tad makes her feel secure in ways Al didn’t.  Al tries to get rough with Tad but Tad tells him to stop because it will make Irene loose the little respect she has left for Al.  I’m sure Al will fulfill his destiny, continue to act a fool, and return to Karina

Rod and Nat talk about their luna de miel and Rod feels guilty.  She tells him about the opportunity at Eskenda to model but he only wants her to model for him, barf.  She gets mad.

The Brat talks trash to Alonso about Irene.  Shockingly he turns down an opportunity to have lunch with the Brat and Karina.

Nat accepts Irene’s offer to be the face fo Eskenda and this ticks off Rod and the Brat.  Later she rants to Alberto, who can’t understand her rage.

We meet a friend of Tad’s Amanda Simerman.  And we see another opportunity Irene to get insecure.  Amanda is a long time friend and art critic.  The friend clearly has feelings for Tad and Irene goes to bed early leaving the two to finish dinner.

The Brat calls Rod for pre-wedding sex.  Alberto goes to Al’s but he’s passed out on the couch.  El fills him in on why the good doctor has turned to the bottle again.

Carmen is happy Nat decided to be a model.  They discuss Rod’s mood swings and the Brat’s disappointment.  They also discuss PJ asking Carmen how she would react if Nat’s bio mom showed up.  Carmen doesn’t know but Nat, who doesn’t hate, would learn to.  Thanks for the heads up writers, NOT!  Nat then goes on this rant about how that woman abandoned her and she doesn’t want to hear from her at all.  Sadly Carmen thinks this is great.

The Brat comes home sneaking in and Alberto asks where she has been.  She lies to him about having coffee with a friend and to not ruin their relationship with questions.  Al. Leave. Her. Now.

Tad asks Irene if she was jealous of Amanda.  He tells her if she feels anything for her she should tell him.

The football match.  We see the players with El and Gino trying to crush one another’s hands as they shake.  Carmen reminds the men to play fair and Kimberly shows up in cheerleading attire with other cheerleaders.

Irma tells Diego he’ll wake up soon but it will be nightmare that she enable to happen.  Grumps comes in and tells Irma about the new test Alonso will run.  She needs to be under the jail very soon.

Irene and Tad argue about Amanda and Tad’s catalogue.  I guess Irene was doing that job and she is miffed Tad passed it off to Amanda.  She finally asks herself why she is acting this way.

El’s team has Rod as the goal keeper and he’s not good so Gino’s team is able to score twice, Paolo and Gino both scored.  El gets embarrassed by Kimberly’s cheers.  Later we have a cheer off between Gino’s cheerleaders, Kimberly’s crew.  Carmen joins Gino’s crew.  The players actually stop to watch this spectacle and Gino takes the opportunity to score again.  El’s team finally scores.

Mr. T is not recovering all that quickly and his wife is concerned.  It is seems his pain is driving Mr. T to consider telling either Irene or Nat THE SECRET.

At halftime, Carmen and Kim get on the pitch to flirt with their men.  Foolishness!

Grumps talks nicely to Rod while Irma gets her drugs ready.  Grumps notices what Irma is doing and she lies about it

Uni edits make it hard to know the score but El’s team is behind.  El scores a penalty kick on Gino (Gino’s the goalie because the real goalie got a read card for decking Morales).  The football game devolves into everyone fighting and the non-playing women get on the pitch again.
Mara’s mom shows up, this is bad, and wants to know where her daughter and PJ are.

Irene finds her old drawings in Tad’s study.  She realizes she is important to him but hasn’t he told her this more than once?  I guess her low self-esteem and verbicide from her father have caused her blocked this out.

Things get crazy on the pitch and PJ shots a gun in the air to stop the madness.  Later El’s team gathers at his apartment to lament the loss.  Gino’s team savors their victory but Mara sees her mom is making a visit.  She has Paolo hide and tells PJ.

Tad and Irene talk and he wants them to take a chance.  She lets him know she cares for him but needs to recover from Alonso.

El has to be a waiter for Gino because he lost the match.  He learns that Gino will be proposing to Carmen and El has to bring the ring.  Bummer!

Previews
Irene yells at Grumps about her daughter and Mr. T tells her the child is not dead.  Rod plans to harm Nat but this isn’t really new as he does this every episode.

What other shows has Sugey Abrego(Irma) been in? A Google search only shows her appearance in Mexican Playboy.

She was on Destilando Amor as a secretary

It seems that on Friday June 13, DQTQTQ will return to 1hr episodes.
BTW Mexico's episodes 92,93,&94

This is great Karen! I'm going to come back later for detailed praise. I don't do so well on a tablet. Lol.

Oh Karen, this was excellent!

You always add clever comments that never fail to make me laugh. My favorites were: "can’t break away from Rod though he treats her like a mop and tells this to his brother as she is drugging up. I’m not violent but want to hurt her" , "I would fire the lemon-faced, obnoxious, skank" and "Rod plans to harm Nat but this isn’t really new as he does this every episode" (indeed!)

I was hoping Irene's attitude toward Amanda might be jealousy but I think it might simply have been insecurity. You are so right Karen, she is insecure and thanks to that fool Al, she unfortunately has good reason to be. Ack.

I enjoyed every minute of the game. Carmen getting her cheerleading groove on was fun and the Gino/El rivalry was entertaining. Rod couldn't even bother to make an effort. LOSER!

Will Mr. T live long enough to tell the full secret? I hope so!

As Alex noted, Irma was Nancy, Gaviota's friend on DA. I haven't seen her in anything since.

Missing our amiga Judy...

Karen, this was wonderful!

Diana

Thanks, Karen, for that snappy recap.

I thought that it was interesting that Rodiego's athletic skills echoed his miserable personality...lazy and inept. I think that the actor reflected on all the characteristics that would make Rod a hateful character and one of them was not being a competitive player who gives his all for his team. And so we learn that Rodiego is....among other things...not a team player. Rod does not play well with others. I have friends who are identical twins, and they have very different personalities..one is quieter and more serious than the other who is funny and easygoing. However, they are both good athletes and competitive with each other,

I got a kick out of Rodiego's head receiving a sudden painful jab as innocent Nat delivered a pure, loving kiss. Ow...that sweet kiss hurt my evil brain. I DO NOT want him really falling in love with Nat. Bleecchh

Rod may be the face of the devil, but GrumpyGramps must be the voice of Diablo.

Big Al is such a sucker. Crankypants just leads him around by his nose. WAKE UP, Big Guy. She is a dreadful person. ..a lying liar who lies, a grouchy grump, a hohoho...okay...yeah..I get it...she wears really tight, short dresses.

Rah. Rah. Rah...that lame soccer game is over. Rah PJ got a gun ???? really. ??

Hmmm..Rod's head pain reminded me of something ...I finally just remembered...On Buffy , Angel (the vampire) got a head jab whenever he kissed his onetruelove Buffy.

Diana..yes..I am missing Judyb and Sylvia. They have gone missing.

Karen- Excellent recap! I loved all your snarky comments because they were all true.

Carmen may have four persistent exes, but I think they are all probably easier to deal with than Kimberly. El needs to stop stringing her along. I did enjoy the game and seeing Paolo and Gino enjoying themselves so much.

I missed the parts with Mr. T and Padre. Does Padre know Irene was adopted? It would be awful if he thought Nat is engaged to her bio-uncle. Did T tell him the truth under the seal of the confessional? If not, then I say Padre needs to spill the beans.

Hi, Karen,

Thanks for your in-depth recap and snappy observations.

I don't know anything about soccer, but I thought we would get another hint such as "Gee, Diego, in college you were the best goalie ever; it was Rod who had two left feet and ten thumbs."

I too am amazed at the lack of morals or even sanity displayed by Irma. I find it hard to believe that someone who was motivated to go into nursing would so morally confused as to be able to do this much harm, while also knowing that she is just a sexual plaything for Rod.

David

love it Karen right out of the gate with "treats her like a mop"

That football game was a waste of 30 minutes along with the trip to the massage parlor.

Tad - just one of a fawning harem

Brigitte - tart not sweet

Irene - you don't own him

Amanda - younger & prettier, I'd be jealous too

Angela - finally a woman with a clue & self RESPECT

Carmen - feed my Ego

Alonso - twerp

Mr. T - I pity the fool

El - give me a K, give me an I, give me a M.........

Nat - better make your deals now, a toy is worth more still in it's box

Gracias, Karen! What a mess this was...almost as if they'd decided what to leave in and then scrambled the whole mess up!

I smell bad editing with the Padre/Tiburcio/Grumps scenes...I get the impression that Tiburcio doesn't remember telling PJ. I don't think he's that great a liar, and if he did remember telling PJ, then why is he still all worked up about needing to tell? PJ has already told him (in the confessional) that it's the only way to soothe his conscience, but when he decided he was going to burst, he went to PJ instead of going to find Nat or Irene--and he knows exactly where both of them are.

The impression I got about Rod was that it's starting to creep him out that he likes Natalia's kisses, because he keeps having to remind himself that it's Diego she's in love with. I thought the headache was an excuse to stop kissing her while he figured out QTH was going on. He even leaned into her as she was pulling away when he dropped her off at home. I think he's just getting hooked on what it feels like to actually be loved, especially as all the women he's shagging have ulterior motives and he's now hearing how his grandpa only favored him because he felt sorry for him for being weak.

For Rod I think it is just sexual frustration. He wants to unwrap the present before christmas and Nat won't let him.

Thanks everyone for your kind words and comments.

Gobluefan, so glad that Alex knew about the actress that plays Irma as I had forgotten about her in DA.

Sara, thanks for stopping by, look forward to your insights.

Alex, thanks for the programming info and the episode update.

Diana, poor Irene has been through a lot and Al's foolishness didn't help anyone. And I too miss Judy.

Susanlynn, your analysis of Rod's personality and how it manifests in team sports is interesting and spot on. I understand why JDC was the youngest actor to get a Premio because he clearly thought these things through and brings those traits to each twin.

Vivi, yes El needs to get rid of Kimberly. It's a ridiculous tn cliché that galans never know how to rid themselves of women who stalk them. The scene w/Mr. T and Padre was so badly edited I don't know if Padre knows Irene is adopted.

David this "I too am amazed at the lack of morals or even sanity displayed by Irma" succinctly sums up my rage at Irma.

tofie, another great list & I'm happy Angela has self-respect.

Kat, thanks so much for talking about the butchered editing surrounding THE SECRET. You are right Mr. T most likely wasn't lying but he seems delirious at times so its not clear what he knows he said. I can't believe Uni messed with an important plot point like that because what he said to Padre and how much he said (Irene is adopted so Nat isn't marrying her uncle) is crucial.

Yeah. Although I actually enjoyed the game, most of that could have easily been cut, and they should have shown us the Padre- Mr. T interactions in their entirety. Way more important to the plot than the game!

Karen, I forgot to say how much I liked "Mr. T." I will probably steal that.

I only watched the last hour last night and I (like Vivi) kept thinking that all the soccer shenanigans could have been cut. I didn't realize there had been such poor editing the first hour.

Heck, I'm still not entirely sure what prompted the stupid "winner will be my lackey" soccer game to begin with (I think it popped up on my night, but with little context I didn't catch all of the El/Morales conversation.)

Sara and Vivi, the soccer stuff could have definitely been cut especially realizing what they did to Mr. T's confession. I also think in the original unedited episode one of the characters probably did say what David mentioned about the difference between Diego as goalie vs Rod.

Sara, I must admit Mr. T is easier than writing Tiburcio.

Also it was just passing after Gino got knocked down by El's shot, Carmen came to comfort him and he kissed her. Lupita's face was excellent and priceless. She's such a great actress!

I think Irene should ask for a refund because Alonso didn't really get to the root of her issue. She is so desperate to be someone's, (anyone's) object of affection & love and fearful of rejection she is an absolute mess. If she were a horse they'd shoot her.

Ugh! I also forgot to say that "treats her like a mop" deserves all the praise it's receiving.

tofie, Irene should get her money back mainly b/c Alonso didn't see the extent to which Grumps has and continues to make her life horrible with all the bad things he almost always says to her.

Thanks Sara. The funny things is that the English CCs actually made that translation and I had to use it.

Irene hasn't been seeing Alonso professionally in a long time. She has a new therapist, whom she really likes. It's on that therapist now. Plus, I would think it would take some time, a LONG time, to get through and over the damage Grumps has done to Irene over her whole life. What a prize of a dad!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hE0ag88rKvQ English Promo for Mi Corazon es Tuyo! This looks promising, let's hope it doesn't go PEAM on us and it keeps momentum like say UFCS (or Mi Pecado) did? (@ Sara I can see Rafael Inclan's character will be refreshing and not like Pupi Landeros.)

and did anyone hear about the news that Silvia Navarro's dad had died?

Corazon- Yes. Her dad died just the other week. Producer Juan Osorio and all her Mi Corazon es Tuyo castmates all have spoken about what an absolute professional she was. She went home for the funeral (had to miss a couple of events with the cast), and was back on set and working hard as always with hardly missing a beat. They're being supportive, but they are all in awe. She's also doing a play right now- The Misanthrope I believe. I hope she doesn't have a breakdown pushing herself so hard through her grief.

Natalia wouldn't be marrying her uncle anyway, because Diego and Rodrigo are her first cousins.

Anon- You're correct. They are her first cousins. Just not her bio- first cousins.

Corazon-Thanks for the info about RAfael Inclan. I'm wanting to give Mi Corazon es Tuyo a try.

I feel like some really good offerings are coming down the pike (from Uni AND Telemundo) and I'm glad. I feel like there's been a drought for a while.

I hope I have the time to see all the shows I want to see.
