Que Pobres Tan Ricos #118: 6/19/14: The King of the Porca Miseria!
Hola, Amiguis! I will try to make this recap short and sweet, all I gotta say is poor, poor Dona Mati! May Ahole rot in porca miseria, jus' sayin'.
We start with Vilma doing PI duty again and she's found Frida and Lupe. Does Ahole want her to follow them? Course he does, silly question, find Dona Mati, that is the goal.
Tizoc, Perla and Carm are leaving the karaoke place and Tizoc is still pithed over losing. Don Chuy comes and tells them what happened to MA. Carm hits Leo with her fan, and Vilma just happens by and sees them with Dona Mati.
Guendy is talking to Lupe on the phone. Lupe wants all the info she has especially about where MA is, the jail that is. Guendy spills that Nepo went to talk to Ahole. Sucks to be Nepo, the Banana King.
MA is in custody at the police station, proclaiming his innocence. MA is telling this to the cop that doesn't seem to like Ahole. Saul and Tomas come to see MA and they basically tell him to be quiet and to be calm. Not another word.
Ana Chofi is being her usual, self, ya know, all entitled and Emi and Dona Mati are at the table. She requests some paper from Emi, she needs to write something down, before she forgets. Emi obliges her and Carm gives her water. Dona Mati doesn't want to be distracted.
MA seems to think he will be in and out of la carcel (the jail) with a quickness, but Saul has to tell him, it will take some time to process this evidence they have against Ahole. Leave it to Tomas and Saul and he tells MA to be calm once again.
The King of the Porca Miseria, that would be Ahole and his assistant Vilma, arrive and greet Emi and Dona Mati. Poor Dona Mati looks like she wants to hurl. The Menchaca are also not happy to see him. Ahole has the gall to hug Dona Mati, I wish she'd hurl all over him, and tells her she'll never be seperated from him again. Porca Miseria, all those Ahole cooties, yuck!
Nepo and Guendy are having a chat. He isn't sorry for what he did. It was best that he did it, for Lupe, her familia and for Diego.
Ahole is pretending he was so "upset" when Dona Mati disappeared. He informs Don Chuy that Dona Mati disappeared from her nursing home. Leo, bless his heart, informs Ahole that Dona Mati was with her familia, right Ana Chofi? Ana Chofi actually agrees. Ahole asks who took her from the nursing home, cause whoever did is in some big trouble!
Lupe and Frida find out which police station, MA is being held in, and they go there, and Lupe begs to see him as does Frida. The desk cop tells them nopis, only his lawyer. Frida is getting a mite testy with the cop, when Tomas comes. Lupe swears that Ahole will pay for this. Tomas tells them to be calm, he'll handle this.
Dona Mati tells everyone that nursing home was horrible and she was completely drugged up when she was there. Ahole tries to claim it was part of her treatment, the Docs there best in the country. Don C butts in here and reminds Ahole that this woman is the only Granny he has. Mati makes Tizoc and Perla take Emi off, so he doesn't have to hear. Don C wants to know if Ahole was the one that called the cops on MA? Nopis, just wanted to find Granny. Yeah, and Ahole's got a bridge to sell you!
Lupe and Frida want to see MA and Tomas suggests it also.
MA is still insisting on being let out of the jail. Saul, whose patience is wearing thin, tells MA once again to be patient. All in good time. MA is not happy.
Ahole now informs everyone he is taking Dona Mati with him. Dona Mati clearly doesn't want to go. Don C even says she can stay if she wants to. Ahole insists and here comes Vilma with the popos and says the Menchaca can be charged with kidnapping. Poor Dona Mati gives in.
Isela comes barreling down the stairs and informs Mini that she saw on the TV that they have arrested MA. Mini wants to know where they have taken Mi Chicki (MA). Isela reminds her that MA wants nothing to do with Mini. Mini will find out and Isela reminds Mini tht she is just like her Papa.
Don C is very pithed that Ahole is hauling Dona Mati off like that, when she clearly doesn't want to go and is pithed that Vilma threatened that kidnapping charge. Don C tells Ahole no one kidnapped Dona Mati and think how this will affect Emi. Dona Mati wants no problems for the Menchaca, she'll go with Ahole, but wants to be checked out by a Doc of her choosing to show Ahole she is sane. Ana Chofi watches this and is pithed that Dona Mati is going to have a better situation than her. Here's an idea, take Ana Chofi and leave Dona Mati! Next Ahole wants to take Emi with him. Don C puts his foot down and informs Ahole, not only no, but hellz noes, well not that, but Lupe has primary custody and she sure as heck wouldn't approve of Emi going off with Ahole. Emi isn't going with Ahole. So it is decided all of them will go with Ahole to prove that Dona Mati will be well treated.
Meanwhile Lupe and Frida are chewing out that desk sargent at the jail. Lupe has brought some food I think for MA. Frida also gets in his face and chews him out. Tomas pulls them away and handles it. Tomas tells the desk sargent that Frida is crazy, been that way since she was born. Completely loca!
MA is still giving Saul a hard time. MA says these money transfers prove my innocence yes? That desk sargent comes back there and gives MA a bag of tacos that Lupe made. MA tell Saul, that Lupe is a great woman.
The whole Menchaca clan, including Emi, go with Ahole, who has gotten Dona Mati a nice hotel room. The familia likes the elegant hotel room. Ahole asks Emi where Lupe is? Ahole has also figured out that MA was living with the Menchaca all this time. Mati thanks Don C for his support and she'll be okay.
Saul goes and talks to Lupe. He warns her to watch what she says to Ahole. Can't know about her or MA. Lupe and Frida are going back to La Nopalera.
Don C and the familia are back at the beach and he tells the familia they are going back to La Nopalera manana. No one has told Ana Chofi about MA and she seems to think that MA and Lupe are off somewhere, she never mentions Frida at all. Leo is so pithed, he yells at Ana Chofi that she has two sons and a daughter and the daughter's name is Frida! Don C finally tells Ana Chofi what happened to MA. Is she concerned for her number 1 son? No, of course not, true to form all she is worried about is her old friends finding out, the press and oh m cheese (Thanks Eli!) the scandal! Porca Miseria!
Mini and Isela are having a chat, and Mini wonders if maybe Isela can use her powers of persuasion, er, her old friends like the Governer's wife, to get MA out of the jail. The black car of doom pulls up and it's Beto, Ahole, Dona Mati and Vilma. Ahole informs Mini he is moving back home and Dona Mati will be living there. Mini and Isela don't look happy.
Lupe and Frida are in the kitchen and Nepo comes with Guendy. Guendy is trying to hold him back. Lupe informs Nepo he's got some 'splain', well not that, but they have to talk!
Vilma brings Dona Mati to her new room, along with Dinora, that drug happy nurse, who will be taking charge of Dona Mati. I hope the Anvil of Doom hits Ahole and flattens him! As for Vilma the pie cart needs to hit her for going along. Anyways, Dona Mati begs not to be drugged, but that crappy nurse fills up the syringe and Dona Mati is out for the count. Vilma leaves.
Nepo tries to justify himself to Lupe about what he did. Lupe isn't having his excuses. She reminds Nepo that he promised he would never turn MA in, he knew MA was trying to prove his innocence, cause Ahole is the guilty party! We'll get back to them in a tick.
Ahole tells Mini and Isela that Dona Mati stays. Isela thinks that Dona Mati is a sweet Granny. They talk about MA being in jail and now Mini wants to know which jail MA is being held. When Ahole doesn't tell her, she starts choking him, she's doing a good job too, when Isela pulls her off of Ahole. He's so pithed he wants to call the cops and press charges against her for attempted murder. Isela slaps the crap out of Mini to get her to calm down, Ahole is flabbergasted that Isela did this.
Nepo is still trying to justify what he did. Lupe tells Nepo to respect her. Lupe tells him he shouldn't have done, what he done did. Lupe is so wise, she knows Nepo did this because of Diego and especially against Leo. She now informs Nepo, the Banana King, that he is dead to her. Don't talk to her, don't greet her, she's done.
Ahole and Vilma laugh at poor drugged up Mati. Ahole tells Dinora to double Mati's doses. Dinora goes through Dona Mati's purse, sees her meds and will throw them in the trash. Dinora also finds that piece of paper, Hmmmmm........
At the police station, Tomas and Saul are talking about MA's defense, when here comes a gloating Ahole and Vilma. Ahole thinks they are confused about proving MA's innocence and Vilma tells Tomas and Saul that MA will be in la carcel for the rest of his life. Saul says he's got some proof of MA's innocence and Vilma says good luck with that.
Nepo is now gone and Frida and Lupe have some bonding time. They will support each other and MA and have a big ole hug.
Tomas calls Lupe I think, and lets her know that Ahole is at the police station. Ahole is telling that cop, I'm gonna call him Top Cop, since we don't have a name, to add the charge of kidnapping to MA's charge sheet. He tells Top Cop that MA kidnapped Granny and bamboozled the Menchaca. Top Cop doesn't look like he's buying it. Tomas hears all.
Lupe is about to go to the jail again, with more food for MA and Frida is okay with that.
Top Cop and MA have a chat in the cells. Top Cop wants MA to confess to kidnapping Granny. MA says it was for her health. Top Cop tells MA that Granny is now with Ahole, as he's going through the door, MA yells for him to come back. MA begs Top Cop to get Granny away from Ahole. He tells him that Ahole had her so drugged up before and to go check on her. MA explains about taking her to a Doctor. MA asks Top Cop to be allowed to see his girl.
Lupe goes to the desk at the jail and Mini comes in and confronts Lupe.

Thanks Mads!!! i know EXACTLY what its like to get through AND RECAP a nasty episode like this... the only good thing was how the Menchacas, esp Don Chuy adn Carm, were so eager to try and protect Mati from Ahole until they were going to be charged with kidnapping (and maybe even after that, if not for Mati accepting to go with Ahole).
I can't wait for the front cover of Perla to make Ahole's 'baaaaaad daaaayyyy!!' for a change.
AS is a monster. period... she cares about noone but herself! sort of reminds me of Don Francisco(Alejo's dad) in La Pola. Offending and insulting anyone in their path to get their way.
MA so sweet in how he spoke of Lupe to Saul... I think Saul is getting now that MA is indeed deeply in love. probably something else Saul might feel a bit envious about.

Madelaine, thanks for your very complete recap of such a disturbing episode. Your recaps are always enjoyable earworm or no earworm. This was just such a sad sad episode. Alejo and his machinations have completely enveloped the Menchacas and the Ruizpalacios. Whenever the viewer thought there was some hope, Alejo popped up again blocking the way like some evil clown. The worst, of course, was his regaining control over doña Mati and her ending up drugged and asleep. That was truly disgusting. Too bad AS could not have gotten her wish instead, as you said, Madelaine.

My favorite part was Lupita telling Nepo they were no longer friends, and reiterating to him how he had repeatedly taken liberties with their friendship that had never been granted to him. I loved the don't talk to her, don't greet her, etc. part. Maybe the nasty blockhead will get the message. He has been such a presumptuous ass.
I like how Frida and Lupita are forming a friendshi in their support of MA.
Will Top Cop become an ally for MA? Sure hoping so.

I had to keep giving myself pep talks to not turn it off. Poor Mati! I'm not that upset that MA is in jail, because that finally gets his case moving. But seeing Mati taken prisoner and drugged again, AND seeing the evil nurse find the note in her purse (which is likely about where she left the house paperwork), was almost too much to bear. Blech!

Marta- I had never heard of that tn and just looked it up on Wikipedia. It doesn't sound a lot like that. It sounds more like a twisted Sound of Music-- strict widowed father of 7 unruly children, with snobby girlfriend, hires high-spirited, fun young woman to care for the kids. She brings light, joy and love into all of their lives. But instead of a singing nun, this tn has a pole dancer. :) Someone on Robo commented that they hope SN does a better job as a pole dancer than the lackluster pole action we've seen on Robo. I'm liking the fact that Mati has made this whole search for the deeds a scavenger hunt no one has been able to figure out. I hope it's misleading enough that they'll go on a wild goose chase.

thanks Vivi, about the new tn, now it sounds better, and I noticed it has Rene Casados in there, and that is a BIG plus for me. I be he and Jorge and Sylvia will make good teams.
I'm really hoping that Mati does what she did before. Especially if they give her pills. Pretends she takes them, hides them and finds some way to escape. Mati is so resourceful I can see her doing it and finding a way to stick it to Ahole! One can hope ; )

I was hoping that Vilma would redeem herself before the end of this tn, but after the way she tracked down Mati then turned her back on the nurse drugging her, I give up. Curse you, Vilma! You and Nepo and maybe Ana Sophia, too, can all sink on the same ship as Alejo at the end of this show, good riddance!

Vivi, thanks for the clip of Silvia Navarro, I wonder how much of her new abilities will be featured in the telenovela. Zuria Vega played a pole dancer in a play with Silvia and she worked so hard and used to do some crazy moves on the pole.
