Lo Que La Vida Me Robo 172 - 10 July, 2014 - Stuck On Replay: Another Of Maria’s Plots Bites The Dust

It Looks Like Jose Luis  Will Allow Montserrat To Leave—Maybe
Jose Luis wants to know if Montserrat would forgive a betrayal from Alejandro. Whatever happens, he will be there waiting. Montserrat goes to pack her bags. Tomorrow she will leave the house.

I’ll Just Take The Houses and Lands; Thanks
Over at the judge’s chambers, Father Anselmo, the judge and Alejandro meet. The judge tells Padre that he trusts him completely but his declaration is too late. Father Anselmo emphatically retorts that it is never late to correct an injustice. But the judge clarifies that the tests run on the document prove forever and anon that Alejandro is the only true heir of Benjamin Almonte. Padre’s declaration does not clear Alejandro because he is already proven to be the rightful Almonte heir. As of this moment he has recovered his name, Alejandro Almonte Dominguez and all that goes with it. Congratulations!

Father Anselmo praises God for being very just. Despite all that has happened nothing has dimmed his faith. Padre encourages Alejandro and hopes he has learned from his previous errors.

Alejandro tells the Father that he is very fortunate. Not only is he recovering his name, but he is also recovering his family.

The Judge tells them that his decision is absolutely irrevocable but that it might take a while for Alejandro to recover everything. But Alejandro is way ahead of everyone else. He says that Fabiola has transferred ALL of the money to another person. He doesn’t want a penny of the money anyway. Anselmo is appalled by yet another miscarriage of justice, and he asks,

“Who ended up with the money?”
“Graciela Mendoza,” answers Alejandro.

The Judge recognizes her name as the woman who formerly perjured herself in the matter of Don Benjamin’s will. Padre Anselmo wants to know – How did that happen?

Esmeralda Filler
Esmeralda welcomes Poor Blind Nadia and Vapid Victor to her home. They catch up on good times they have shared. Oh, they didn’t really share any old good times? Nadia used to hate Esme and thought she was Pedro’s lover until she discovered that Pedro had beaten Esme, nearly to death. They only became allies when Nadia discovered the truth about Pedro. Well, who cares about such details when we are wrapping up a too-long telenovela?

Esme still thinks she is fat. It will take her six months to lose the baby fat. Ever gallant, Vapid Victor Victor tells Esme that she has never looked more beautiful. He needs to give lessons in ‘romantic phrases’ to dull Refugio.

Poor Blind Nadia tells Esme that she will surely gain her figure back. Soon.

So, just why should Esme believe Poor Blind Nadia? She’s blind and anorexic. Check on the fit on those white jeggings she is wearing. What the hay does she know about getting fat?

Esme tells everyone that she is on the move. Aguazul had better get ready because she is headed back to the very visible La Escondida. Where better for a new Mom to bring her darling little infant Angel, than a modified strip club? How heavenly that the baby’s name is Angel. He should raise the tone of the place. Esme opines in English that there is nothing better than the ‘pole dance’ to help a girl get her figure back.

Drat! If only I had known that in 1981 when my last child was born!

Amalia is there already and brings in the new baby. She completes the handoff to Poor Blind Nadia with the baby intact. The actress who plays Nadia smiles a real smile when she takes the baby. Wow! When she smiles like that I see just why my cat has a serious crush on her!

It’s OK Father; I Was Going To Give It To Her Anyway
In the judge’s office Padre Anselmo is OUTRAGED, OUTRAGED I tell you, that Graciela could pull off her latest fraud. She cannot get away with it. Ale breaks up all the righteous indignation in the room with a (for him) rare noble sentiment. HE says, “Calm down, Padre. It’s OK; I was going to give it to her anyway to just to leave Montserrat and I in peace.”

He recounts the story of his ‘deal’ with Graciela.

Father Anselmo Makes Another Command Appearance
At the Sweet Shoppe, Dominga spots Ale and Father Anselmo approaching. She teases Macario—this time it is she that has a secret. He must close his eyes. Now, Turn around! He sees his old pal Father Anselmo. Macario cries with joy.

Father Anselmo teases Macario and Dominga that they finally got married. Dominga says Macario is very good to her. Her only complaint is that he keeps so many secrets from her. Father A cannot believe that a complete gossip like Macario could kept any secrets—and out comes the news about Alejandro’s half sister, Fabiola.

Thaaaaaaat’s Graciela!
Fabiola Guillen is in her jail cell, sobbing. Dimitrio goes to visit his half sister in the jail. He is supposed to escort her tomorrow.

Fabiola asks if Dim has talked to Montserrat? No, Dim replies. Fabiola complains bitterly to Dimitrio about their mother tricking her out of all of her money. It’s not fair. She stole it fair and square from Alejandro. All Fabiola REALLY wanted was her Mother’s love.

Dimitrio looks at her with an expression somewhat devoid of compassion.

"Well," he says, "That is what my sister and I have been dealing with our whole lives. She lies, she cheats, she disappoints—That’s Our Graciela."

Bur Fabiola has a “Gotcha!” for her brother.

Graciela Giacinti Mendoza is not really Graciela at all, says Fabiola. That is not her real name. Their mother’s actual name is Guadencia Jimenez and she grew up dirt-poor, child of a single Mother in a tin shack in the country.

JL Is Watching
Montserrat packs her bags. He is still whinging about how much he loves her, blah, blah, blah. He wishes she would give him a final kiss. Really, Man? After all the stunts you have pulled?

Her kiss would keep him until the “next time”. Montserrat sets him straight on his use of the phrase “next time”.

“There will be no next time. Do not be confused. I am not coming back. Never.”

Nevah, nevah, nevah!

Jose Luis goes all CheezeWhiz on us as he tells Montserrat;

“My heart and soul are in one of those bags. You are taking them with you.”

Guffaw. Chuckle. LOL! I cannot believe he really said that.

Well, he did say it, and now he goes out to the garden to (manipulate) say goodbye to his Godson Laurito.  Jose Luis tells Laurito that he understands that he and his Mom won’t sleep there anymore, they will live somewhere else, but he hopes to see little Lauro sometimes. Lauro replies that it would be his pleasure. The kid is a real charmer.

They exchange “Te Quiero Muchos” and say goodbye. Jose Luis asks Lauro to promise to not forget him and that he is there for Lauro and Montserrat if they ever needs anything.

“Te lo prometo,” promises the little boy.

EZ Comes, EZ Goes, EZ Lies Like A Dog
EZ Basurto is, as opined two days ago by Novela Maven, a lucky bastard. Tonight he is being served langostinos for dinner in his gorgeous home by his beautiful, generous and vacuous wife Carlota. She wants to thank him for all that he did to save Father Anselmo.

Ahhhh. What a guy, that ‘Zeke. Too bad Ezekiel has blackmailed the Good Father into a deal where he is under the seal of the (fake) confessional thus preventing him from telling the real story of his seven-year absence. Hrrumpf.

As she is serving him, Carlota tells Ezekiel to save room for dessert. He replies to his wife,

“ All the nights of my life, you are my best dessert.”

Ahhhh, again. Ahhhh, yuk. I might not find his words mawkish if I believed that lucky bastard EZ Basurto; if, for example he wasn’t such a mendacious, double-dealing, two-faced phony. Sadly, he has completely hoodwinked Carlota. Her attitude toward EZ reminds me of Othello’s comment about Iago, when he promoted him to his right-hand-guy— “A man he is of honesty and trust”.

EZ notes that Graciela is gone and he hopes she never comes back. As Carlota enthusiastically enjoys her dinner, she gossips to her husband about Graciela’s latest shenanigans. This time, she relates, her victim was Fabiola.

Graciela discovered that Fabiola was her daughter, pretended to be her friend, promised to take a trip to recover their lost time together—then Fabiola gave her all of her money. What did Graciela do? She took off without Fabs and left her to rot in jail. Sooner or later, Graciela will pay for all she has done.

Amen, sister.

EZ gives his wife the good news that Pedro Medina’s body had been recovered. Hmm, E.Z. We will see about that.

A Delightful Houseguest
Padre Anselmo comes home with Macario and Dominga. He is going to be their houseguest. Anselmo says he is worried about the people he used to care for in the remote country villages. Good-hearted Macario puts Anselmo’s mind to rest by saying that, in Father Anselmo’s name, he and Montserrat continued the good work with the campesinos, visiting and bringing medicines. Anselmo is delighted by this news, but it does not distract him from picking a bone with Macario.

Padre A. is very upset with Macario for keeping the big secret—for ALL these years—Graciela’s baby did not die. Macario protests that he was just following Don Benjamin’s orders—you know how he was! But Padre A. tells Macario he should ‘fessed up long before now.

JL's House and Sometime Gaol
As Montse is finishing her packing, Laurito runs in to give his mom a note. Some man gave it to him, for his Mom.

“What man?” Asks a perturbed Montserrat. Lauro doesn’t know. Montse opens the note and scans it. “If you want to find Alejandro “on his back”, come to this address.” She tells Lauro that she has a very bad feeling (taste) about the note.

Meanwhile, Alejandro is driving a vehicle that must surely be his Faithful Steed, Tundra. (This is for our friend Oxnard Huero. He was the first of us BLOGGERS to recognize Tundra as an important continuing character in the show). Ale receives a call and answers with hands-free. It is Maria. He won’t believe who is at her house. He has to come, right now. She implies that it is Montserrat. She rings off before Ale can say no.

He looks grim as he calls Montserrat. Her cell is busy. Ale is worried. He tells Montserrat to call him and tell him how she and Laurito are doing. It’s urgent.

Montserrat is on the phone with Ale’s mom, Rosario. Rosario doesn’t like that JL will be a continuing part of their lives but Montse assures her that she and Lauro will return first thing in the morning to be with Alejandro —and Rosario and Victor and Victoria and Josefina. It’s a good thing Josefina didn’t just buy herself a little Pied a Terre when she returned to Aguazul. There is nothing like having a mansion in the middle of town to keep one in the thick of things.

Jose Luis Visits His Bro
JL visits Refugio in his nice room. For many years and on many occasions Refu has been witness to the destructiveness of JL’s obsession with Montserrat. Now JL rants to his friend.

He doesn’t want to be at home while Montse and Lauro are packing. When Alejandro recovered his name, Jose Luis and Montserrat’s marriage was automatically annulled. Refu warns his friend about the dangers associated with his extreme hatred but JL says he cannot help himself. Now he feels like Alejandro is also taking away his unborn child.

But Jose Luis has hope. Very soon now, Montserrat will discover just who Alejandro really is and she will come back to him. Cut to Maria’s Little House Of Horrors…

The Oldest Telenovela Trick In The Book
Alejandro arrives at Maria’s and finds her in the blonde wig with her back to him (pretend) gagged and (pretend) tied up next to her bed. When he comes in close to save “Montserrat”, Maria pops up like a Whack-a-mole and  conks Alejandro on the head with a conveniently placed large white vase. Naturally her aim was perfectly placed to knock him into an unconscious state.

I’ll not linger on the details of this scene because the sight of an obsessed Maria undressing, caressing and kissing unconscious Alejandro was not pleasant to watch. Once she got Alejandro completely naked and under the sheets, Montserrat walks in on cue. The note she received earlier sent her to Maria’s.

But Maria has pulled this trick once too often. Remember the mad shower scene, ages ago, with Ale kissing the wrong nude woman in the shower? Yeah, yeah; I know he had suds in his eyes.

Anyway, this time it didn’t work at all. Maria was just bringing Ale to consciousness as Montse walks in. Montse recognizes this as a set up. She tells Maria to get her hands off of HER husband! Maria tells Montse that here she has the proof with her own eyes of Alejandros perfidy! But Montse tells Maria that she is COMPLETELY sure that Alejandro would never betray her with Maria. Montse and Ale leave together, solid as a couple, united in trust.

Maria screams that Alejandro is hers, all hers.

Jose Luis Is Unhappy With His Co-Conspirator
JL walks into Maria’s house. She is still in her nighties and, while there are PLENTY of men out there who would not kick her out of bed, Jose Luis is not one of them.

She followed the plan, Montserrat walked in on a naked Alejandro in her with Maria, but Montserrat DID NOT CARE. Jl cannot believe it. It cannot be!

She is mad that her plot failed. He is mad that her plot failed.  They yell at one another and Maria cries. At this, JL gets in Maria’s face and takes her by the throat with one hand. He yells and calls her a liar for making him believe that she and Alejandro were lovers. He chokes her as he screams that she confirm that she and Al have never been lovers.  JL calls her an idiot but finally releases her.

I have to say, Maria is a right COW but she sure has endured much abuse in this telenovela. She has no reason to love men in general. I hate that Jose Luis abused her.

The Happy Couple Reunites—Almost
Ale and Montserrat return home and talk about their latest adventure. Ale tells Montse how Maria lured him to her house—he thought that Maria was threatening either her or his son. When he got to the house and saw the blonde wig, he thought it was Montserrat.

Montserrat reminds him of the words of Padre Anselmo, “Circumstances are not what matter. What matters is that you believe in each other.” Ale agrees.

She tells Ale that she has good news. Lauro finally convinced Jose Luis to let them go. She will leave Jose Luis’ house in the morning. And he has good news. He has his name and inheritance back, it’s official and she is now looking at her legitimate husband.

The two actors lean into one another in a way that reminds you that these two characters are doing a dance that ends in bed.  Wow! Their story is pretty lame but these two have great chemistry!

“Te amo, Montserrat. Te amo.”

Happy, happy, happy.

Next Morning
Alejandro is up bright and early, loading Trusty Tundra like he is a mule. He has loaded the vehicle with Montse and Laurito’s bags. Things are looking good for a Montse and Ale reunion, but WAIT. We are not even into official Ultimas Semanas yet.

Jose Luis happens along. He follows Alejandro inside. He is still wearing the same clothes he had on last night. Things are not looking so good after all.

Montserrat and Ale meet and greet one another with great joy as official husband and wife.

Over at Macario and Dominga’s place, Padre Anselmo greets the new day and chews up some more scenery. Macario and Domi share their sadness at not having a child.

Back at JL’s house, I am distracted by the question of which is tighter—Montserrat’s sprayed on spandex jeans or Ale’s two-sizes too small tee shirt. It’s a close call, but I think Montse takes him by a hair.

Jose Luis sees the two of them together and cannot take it. He has changed his mind. Montserrat cannot leave the house. He raises a gun and points it at the happy couple. Now he rants and raves. He orders Alejandro to get out. Montserrat is not going with him. Ale points out that they are legitimately husband and wife, but Jose Luis reminds them that she lives there, with him, and she is expecting his child.

It’s official, my friends, Jose Luis Alvarez has had a psychotic break. The guy is ‘round the bend, bat shit crazy, nuttier that a squirrel, and dangerous to boot. He waves the gun around like an orchestra conductor’s baton. I find myself hoping that the gun has a safety.

He splits the happy husband and wife apart again, making Montserrat his prisoner (again) and running Alejandro off the property. Thud. Montserrat runs into her room and closes the heavy oak door in Jose Luis’ face. He rants and demands that she open the door. She locks herself in for protection.

Adolfo and Ezekiel Get Non-Verbal Messages
In his home, Adolfo discovers a beautifully wrapped gold-colored box. When he takes the lid off he finds a GIANT living scorpion inside.

And in his office, in City Hall, EZ Basurto also discovers that he has an unwelcome and portentous visitor. As he opens his desk drawer, a live scorpion lies in wait.

We are all left to ponder the identity and location of the REAL Alacran.

Happy Friday to all:

I am really sick of Jose Luis' bad behavior. Must we really suffer through 18 more episodes of his rabid behavior?

I did enjoy seeing the chemistry between Boyer and Rulli, they were hot and they didn't even show a bit of skin.

Not that I have anything against skin, mind.

I feel bad for that nerdy little kid, Laurito. Talk about stuck in the middle,,,

Enjoy the recap!

Elna June

Oh, yeah...

About those scorpions...Did you catch the size of that fellow in Adolfo's box? He must be of some giant variety found in Southern Mexico and Central America.

That was SOME arachnid!

EJ

Oh look Mama Peddy had a labour, now she gave birth to the Peddy family! Welcome Peddy Jr,you are such a good boy ,just as stingy as your No-Ball Mama! Now wheres that Koolaid hiding?

I hate Jl behavior too, last episode he let her go and now he suddenly changed his mind,im glad that Monse seen right trough Marias plan, atleast now we dont need to tolerate another " I hate you forever,i dont want to see you ever again, you cheated on me" drama

Did you ever see a scorpion with a mustache, holding a vodka, possesing glasses and a cigarette in his mouth? Well thats Peddy Jr for you! That necklace must have some special powers! What if Peddy is actually the Scorpion King?

Macario is driving me crazy. Did anyone else notice that when he was talking to MDJL at the bakery, he dropped the “stupid” act.

Why does MDJL think what he is doing is the same as what Ale did to Monse, and that Monse doesn’t really know what she wants? He is so far gone for me.

GO FOR IT MONSE! GOOD GIRL!! Boy has Monse matured. Didn’t you guys love the scene where she sees Ale in bed with Maria and doesn’t blink an eye? I loved it!!

Elna June:

Thank you for a very detailed and hilarious recap. You wrote so many wonderfully funny recaps that I don’t know which one to pick as my favorite—there are just too many. However, since I’ve never ever been a MDJL fan, I have to go with:

It’s official, my friends, Jose Luis Alvarez has had a psychotic break. The guy is ‘round the bend, bat shit crazy, nuttier that a squirrel, and dangerous to boot. He waves the gun around like an orchestra conductor’s baton.

Oh how great! Your recap really made me feel like I was watching the episode all over again.

EJ- Awesome recap. Loved your wry humor.

I'm glad Monse lived up to my expectation, and didn't fall into the trap. I mean really, if she didn't fall for it back when they all lived on the hacienda, there's no way she should fall for it now. I wish the protags over on DQTQTQ and Pobres were also wise to this game. I still don't think Ale would be as wise if things were reversed.

JL is now officially BSC. This is going to be quite the downward spiral. Will we get another duel? Will Ale succeed in killing him this time? At least Monse gets that rescue she was so excited about the other day-- but there's no white horse. Perhaps she'll like the Tundra better. :)

Vivi:

Not too good with acronyms or abbreviations. What does BSC stand for? Too old for texting abbreviations!

Victoria,it means Bat Shit Crazy:) And when Ale fired the gun twice in the air in the avances it reminded me of Strykers pose from Mortal Kombat xD ,like this https://youtube.com/watch?v=qtzwSvfw7Nw

Great recap, Elna June. My fave:

It’s official, my friends, Jose Luis Alvarez has had a psychotic break. The guy is ‘round the bend, bat shit crazy, nuttier that a squirrel, and dangerous to boot. He waves the gun around like an orchestra conductor’s baton. I find myself hoping that the gun has a safety.

I'd really vote for a near-death experience for MDA right now. For him to see Angelica the way Alejandro saw his father-in-law would be the right thing to bring him back to his senses. If anything will help.

The main issue with the rest of this series will likely be the whiplash we'll get from watching how this character ends up. The writers definitely need to learn how to handle these story extensions better, although this one is better than most.

Kudos for Monse seeing through Maria. She should get the satisfaction of kicking the crap out of her before this is over.

Of course we have to know that the scorpions came from Pedro. How do you kill those things, anyway?

Victoria-Sorry, amiga. Yes, exactly what Demitrios/Countx says. :)

So, if EZ is also receiving cryptic scorpion threats from not dead Pedro, that must mean he wasn't in on helping Pedro escape. Can the writers focus on this instead of the love triangle?

Urban,Scorpions are hard to kill,if its only one scorpion you have to pierce their exoskeleton with a sharp object. But there are many Peddy Jrs in your house ,its best to call pest control. The highly intelligent Adolfo will probably use a glass of water against Peddy Jr though:)

And how did Pedro deliver the Peddy Jr to EZ without the security noticing him,did he send one of his goons to deliver the spawn instead?

Elna June: I have been sitting here at work, laughing loudly and delightedly at your recap. You found a rough stone (the storyline) yet managed to chisel, cut and polish the basest of material to yield a sparkling diamond. What you created was sensational.

"Esmeralda welcomes Poor Blind Nadia and Vapid Victor to her home"; "Where better for a new Mom to bring her darling little infant Angel, than a modified strip club?"; "Jose Luis goes all CheezeWhiz on us" were excellent but "EZ Comes, EZ Goes, EZ Lies Like A Dog" and "Maria pops up like a Whack-a-mole" were my special favorites.

"So, just why should Esme believe Poor Blind Nadia? She’s blind and anorexic. Check on the fit on those white jeggings she is wearing. What the hay does she know about getting fat?" I was thinking the same thing! Too funny...

Carlos, I believe you've noted that some patio denizens seem to be making excuses for our feelings about EZ. Guilty! I can only partially explain my rationale which is that I'm a sucker for a man that is besotted with his wife. Are my standards that high that I cannot forgive a little lying, cheating, abduction and murder? Apparantly they aren't and I can. “ All the nights of my life, you are my best dessert.” I just can't hate the man.

I will go to a dark place, but only for a moment. JL. I also hated that Jose Luis abused Maria. I have little hope for him but if there is any beacon, UA summed it up perfectly: "For him to see Angelica the way Alejandro saw his father-in-law would be the right thing to bring him back to his senses. If anything will help".

CountAlacran, I enjoyed your comments on the Peddy scorpion. I thought both EZ and Adolfo seemed very frightened. As well they should.

Wouldn't it be a major plot twist if the real Scorpion King were sometone totally unexpected? That said, in reviewing all of the characters, I can't quite see it being anyone but Pedro.

Vivi, "At least Monse gets that rescue she was so excited about the other day-- but there's no white horse. Perhaps she'll like the Tundra better. :)". Snort...

Elna June, this was amazing.

Happy Friday all!

Diana

Wow, wow and more WOW! This recap just was beyond amazing EJ. I was sitting her laughing and my son walked up behind me wondering what was so funny. He read some of your lines and said "Now that is one talented writer." There you go!!

Thank you writers for the change up on the old cliché of drunk man in bed. Loved it! But now what for Maria? Does she follow the path of her brain-dead cohort in crime MDJL and start trying to shoot up dodge in revenge. There are way too many people with guns flying around right now. Maybe we will have a re-enactment of the OK Corral as our Ultimate.

Interesting idea of the scorpions, but you really have to park the beanies on how those little darlings found their way to those locations. I guess we just go with the intrigue. I'm guessing that Pedro, with such a small pool of blood we saw, crawled away on his own, recovered somewhere and now is wreaking havoc. I can see maybe Gracie helping him in his recovery, which really made her want to leave town all the more, but the rest, he's probably on his own with his some loyal henchman.

Now my other thought when I saw the little pinchers was Dim. He figured out about Adolfo and may have known about EX being the mole and now he's exacting revenge for Monica? Long-shot, but if it isn't Pedro....

Thank you Padre for calling out Mac for the same reason we all had. Say the same to Amelia too when you see her. THink of the heartache that could have been avoided.

Someone mentioned Angie...lord, love her. She has to be turning in her grave to see how JL has turned out.

Daisynjay

From Where did Peddy get the scorpions anyway, does one of his men run a local Zoo or something?I wonder if there are any petshops in Aguazul..

Elna June, thank you for your very entertaining recap! I laughed all the way through it. Your "insights" were the highlights!

Poor Padre Anselmo! With his continued astonishment through the episode, I was surprised he survived.

We knew JL was supporting that crazy BM's plot. Her hitting Alejandro at such a weird angle was so amateur and unbelievable. I loved Montse's non-reaction.

The best part of the episode were the planted scorpions. Is Pedro on the loose, planting them ninja like in the shadows? LOL

Maybe Ale and JL can just shoot each other and give Montse a fresh start!

Jarifa

Those scorpions might actually be available in pet shops. They look like Asian Forest Scorpions which are large and comparatively non-toxic. However, I wouldn't want to be involved with anyone who kept things like this.

Vivi and CountxAlacran:

Thanks for the clarification re BSC "bat shit crazy"

Who would have ever guessed?

Who makes up these abbreviations anyway. Is there a text dictionary where one (us older people) can find these texting abbreviations?

Dear Elna June,

Many thanks for the terrific recap! I loved your tone, the very funny commentary, and especially the way you captured the collective feeling of exasperation that many of us have as the storyline drags on at times. I'm still interested, but there are scenes that are really trying my patience now.

So my favorite part of your recap was the very funny retelling of the filler scene between Nadia, Victor, and Esme. I laughed so hard at this:

So, just why should Esme believe Poor Blind Nadia? She’s blind and anorexic. Check on the fit on those white jeggings she is wearing. What the hay does she know about getting fat?

I also really loved this: I’ll Just Take The Houses and Lands; Thanks

I was also happy that Montse didn't fall for The Oldest Telenovela Trick In The Book, as you so wonderfully put it. She may be the first character I've ever seen in a TN who didn't. I don't even watch De Te Quiero, etc or Que Pobres, but even from the previews and small bits I do see, I realize the characters on those shows are in the midst of falling for this plot device right now. So boring and frustrating!

Thanks to the Lo Que writers for saving us from a few episodes of dealing that.

Thanks again, Elna June, for a really well-written and fun recap. It was a pleasure to read this morning.

Best to you and all,
Julia R.

Victoria, I have actually seen a mainline greeting card at a popular chain store with a "I am BSC over you" greeting!
I learned what BSC meant here, like you. Since it is part of the larger culture and I do not live with a box on my head, I wonder how I missed it all of this time.

Jarifa

Elna June, this recap takes the cake! The paragraph following “Esmerelda Filler” was hysterical.

I’m starting to agree with whoever said that Gracie’s real name is going to have significance. They’ve said it SO many times. We’ve got it already!

Ok, I also loved your description of Jose Luis going all “CheezeWhiz” on us. Perfection.

There are so many great lines! I also liked “It’s a good thing Josefina didn’t just buy herself a little Pied a Terre when she returned to Aguazul. There is nothing like having a mansion in the middle of town to keep one in the thick of things.”

I was so happy that the writers didn’t put us through Montes sobbing over Ale’s infidelity. Finally they gave their characters some credit and some brains.

You know, prior to someone (Dim?) saying that Peddy had to have had help, I was thinking the slime ball got up and left on his own. But I think they wouldn’t have mentioned it if it wasn’t someone on the show and I don’t think they would have mentioned it if it wasn’t a main character. I just can’t figure out who. I was thinking EZ until he got a scorpion…

What a fun start to my day!
Rebecca

Victoria, a lot of these abbreviations and acronyms have been around for awhile, mainly deriving from the wonderful world of texting. I know, in particular, the BSC acronym is one I've used for awhile and remember seeing it even used in articles I've read.

There's some fun websites you can access that give you fun abbreviations or texting acronyms. I've noted a few below I know of.

muller-godschalk.com
abbreviations.com
netlingo.com

We also have fun around here as you can see making up our own for characters. The wonderful MDJL case in point. We've got some clever people here!

Great recap, Elna June!

My favorite line today - So, just why should Esme believe Poor Blind Nadia? She’s blind and anorexic.

I laughed and laughed and then felt guilty because I was laughing about a blind person being mocked. Then I made myself feel better by reminding myself, "It's ONLY a novela!"

I have to mention that there is another victim of Graciela. ME!!!!!!!

I have (foolishly) said several times that I felt sure that this villainess would end up being redeemed in the end. How many times did I look at her tear and snot streaked face and think that maybe she was actually experiencing some other centered grief. This last thing with Fabiola was the last straw. Yes, Fabiola has exhibited some Graciela-like tendencies, but you gotta cut her some slack. After she scammed Fabs into signing over her money, then she left for Italy without her, I was stunned! I have lost all faith in her!

Graciela...you are DEAD to me!!!!!

:)

Blind and anorexic elna june, I felt so badly at laughing at this, but I could not help it!

What a wonderfully written recap. Everything in the show is going to heck in a hand basket, but you've so very cleverly found the humor in it all to brighten our day!!!

I'm tired of not only looking at MDA, but I'm REALLY tired of looking at his pink lips and his scruffy face. I can't stand it. I especially do not like it that he has tried to manipulate Laurito one too many times, but I've gotta give the kid credit as he's handled himself pretty well.

Agree with Urban that MAD needs a near death experience or Amelia needs to start talking to him now.

Maria is such old news. I think that's why she is so angry. She KNOWS she is old news.

Thank you, elna june!!

I'll give the writers credit for keeping Montse consistent. Her confidence and her sense of security in herself are one of the few real character traits they gave her. She has always been sure of how Ale feels about her and she loves taunting Maria about her inferiority complex. It's one of the enjoyable parts for me about this novela. The shower scene, Montse gloating when Maria was in the hospital. She know just how to let Maria know that she's as insignificant as some gum stuck on the bottom if her shoe.

Otherwise this novela is practically a parody. I actually laughed seeing the end and previews it's so ridiculous, you can't just keep people hostage, especially not forever, even if you're the chief of police. The idea that you wouldn't just go to the cops and tell them your wife is being kept against her will is a whole new level of absurdity.

Wow, Elna June. What an exceptionally insightful and hilarious recap. You managed to blend all that cynicism, sarcasm, impatience, and wicked biting wit into such perfectly delightful confection. No one was safe from your unique brand of sweet venom.

A tip of the hat to the writers for such a fresh take on a stale TN cliche and Montserrat managed to pull it off perfectly. I'm not even going to complain about it making our María appear such a doofuss. So who was the crazier last night, María or JL?... close call.

Were any of you mothers as appalled as I was that Montse didn't seem more concerned that a perfectly strange man handed her son that envelope with that creepy note? Wouldn't you think that she'd call the police? Oh, that's right, she's married to the police. I would have at least expected her to get a description and maybe issue a caution to Laurito about interacting with strange men (or women for that matter).

I wonder if it will occur to Monteserrat so juxtapose JL's rather abrupt position changes with the anonymous note and María's bizarre (OK... more bizarre than usual) behavior and think... hmmm (a Madelaine type hmmm, not the JL variety).

Carlos

Loved Carlos' tribute to your writing style...."sweet venom" indeed. Plus Diana listed my favorite quotes (we share a brain) but want to note this additional one:

Back at JL’s house, I am distracted by the question of which is tighter—Montserrat’s sprayed on spandex jeans or Ale’s two-sizes too small tee shirt. It’s a close call, but I think Montse takes him by a hair.

I thought that was particularly delightful. Univision is currently running some ad to treat woman problems from wearing too tight pants and I sure hope Montserrat has some amidst her "cremas".

Haven't seen the past couple of episodes, but wouldn't miss the fun of the recaps for anything. Daisynjay's son was right...you are a great writer, EJ, as are the other recappers. Each one's style is different. Different gifts and nuances. But the same wowza impact.

Thank you all. And especially, today, my sweet venomous Elna June!

Carlos, I was just more than a tad astounded that Montserrat didn't seem worried that a strange man had been lurking about their house AND had spoken with her child. I half expected her to go crazy right then and there, but she didn't. Go figure.

If Montserrat had responded to the Maria/Alejandro scene in typical TN fashion, I would have turned the TV off right then and there.

Weren't you a little astounded that Alejandro DIDN'T say one little thing about the fact that Maria had undressed him?! I don't know, I think that would have outraged me just a tad.

Like Carlos i too wonder who is the man who gave Laurito the letter, could it be that it was one of Pedros goons? Though that would mean that Pedro and Maria are allied together, she didnt help him get up though,it must have been one of Pedros goons or JL because he was much earlier on the scene then the others or it was Graciela hmmm so many thoughts flowing around my mind..

Thanks Elna June for such a clever and descriptive breakdown of the events. Had problems with my DVR recording the first half, so you filled me in on all I missed and then I was able to watch it on hulu today.

When Montse arrives at Maria's, I was so proud to see her so sure of Ale's love and not doubting him for a second. As for JL and Maria, they just can't get it through their thick skulls, Montse and Ale are not interested in them. It's funny how Maria is always left screaming in rage at Montse!

Fatima, I too hated JL manipulating Laurito. Telling him to keep him alive in Montse's memory and that he would always be there for them. How despicable, when he is in cahoots with Maria to sabotage the reunion. Personally, I don't know if even Angelica's ghost can wake him up from his delusions. I'm thinking he and Maria may end up in padded cells in the Aguazul manicomio.

Urban, one of my favorite lines was: "Montse assures her that she and Lauro will return first thing in the morning to be with Alejandro —and Rosario and Victor and Victoria and Josefina. It’s a good thing Josefina didn’t just buy herself a little Pied a Terre when she returned to Aguazul." I too was thinking it was a good thing Fina is rich and bought herself a really spacious house for all her houseguests. Equally, I was surprised Padre A didn't end up there last night. But now that everything is going back to Ale, perhaps they will give the beach house a really good cleaning and Ale and family can move back home.

Buenos Dias, Denizens of the Patio:

Here I sit with my first cuppa basking in all of your kind and delightful comments. Thank you. Smile.

Count Demetrios:

No I do not believe I have ever seen a scorpion with a mustache, wearing glasses and holding a crystal glass of spirits. Glasses would be somewhat difficult for an embodied scorpion—I think several sets of eyes!

Victoria:
Macario's baby talk and stupid act wore thin on me a LONG time ago. ITA. I am delighted that you enjoyed the recap.

Vivi: Thank you so much. I, too, was delighted that Montse did not let crazy Maria get the best of that encounter. However, where are Alejandro's cojones? He should have immediately called the friendly local Chief of Police and had Herself put back in a cell. Big wry grin.

Thanks, Urban. I am glad you enjoyed the recap. Praise from the praiseworthy is especially sweet. Smile.

I love your idea of a 'visitation' from Angelica and a death-bed repentance for Jose Luis. I think he is way too far gone to actually survive the telenovela. From your lips to the writer's ears, Urban.

Diana: I am so glad to know that I made you laugh. Your words, as always, are the kindest. I think you, JudyB and Fatima are all really angels in disguise. Abrazos a ti.

Daisynjay: Thank you friend, for your comments. And thank your dear son for his words. He made me blush. Ahhh...Yes, I was delighted that Father Alselmo pointed out that Macario could have always used the confessional to confess. Ah, yeah!

Jarifa: I am so glad yo enjoyed the recap. I, too, thought that the scorpions stole the show. You all know by now that I predict—no spoiler here!—that Pedro is alive, lying low and some of his evil minions are planting scary clues to intimidate his former associates.

What I do not get, is why Adolfo, the deadly little bastard with the beautiful eyes, chose to use the moniker " El Alacran". Pedro had been wearing that huge Scorpion pendant around his neck for the whole show. Call me confused.

Elna June

Julia Rold: thanks so much for your kind words. Yes, the Esme filler scene brought out my, ummm, ornery side. Smile.

Rebecca: I am delighted that you enjoyed the recap. I was looking for the right words to convey my disdain for Jose Luis' spoken sentiments to Montserrat. "My heart and my soul is in one of those bags."

Ah, man, Jose Luis Alvarez, how far you have fallen! That cliche was downright comical. I was thrilled when she put him in his place, earlier in their dialogue.

anita: So glad you stopped by. Yes, I think you were hanging on to a shred of hope that Gracie could be saved. Understandable, of course. Loving Mothers in genreal is a universally accepted practice. Grin.

I can hardly but to watch how this telenovela horror of a mother uses and abuses her children.

Fatima, Member Crackpot Theorists: I send a shout out to one of my table mates! Thank you for coming by and commenting.

Carlos: I bow to a Master recapper and a dear friend, and I thank you for
your careful and complimentary deconstruction of my character.

"...cynicism, sarcasm, impatience, and wicked biting wit into such perfectly delightful confection. No one was safe from your unique brand of sweet venom."

Alas, you have me there, my friend. You know me all too well. I was constantly getting in trouble as a child for having a 'sharp tongue'.

When my character flaws shine so brightly through my writing, I sigh. I guess I will need quite a few more lifetimes before I become enlightened.

Laughing out loud, right now, with you and the lovely Linda at a virtual table on the Patio. Do you mind pouring me a scorpion themed drink? It must be light on the alcohol these days, my mixologist friend. As you know well, crappy neurology and alcohol don't mix well.

Elna June

Dear Elna June,

I find myself wanting to repeat line after line of this sharply hilarious and elegantly composed State of the Pueblo message.

"So, just why should Esme believe Poor Blind Nadia? She’s blind and anorexic."

Why do we ALL find this hilarious? Is it because truly great comedy comes not from the ACTOR but the REACTOR? Well as a reactor, my dear, you are on fire today.

"Guffaw. Chuckle. LOL! I cannot believe he really said that."

I know, I know. We are reaching a point where it is hard to express the incredulity and absurdity we, the dutiful recappers, must somehow register here.

"Ahhhh, again.

I love the mixing of high and low culture. Clearly, Othello serves as the telenovela writer's playbook. (If Mad Dog lives long enough to do so, maybe he will follow DamFab's example and study the play when he is in prison.)

I am THRILLED to see that Montserrat and Alejandro and the Tundra cannot be put asunder by ANY delusional hangers-on. (BTW, wasn't it Niecie who first suggested that the Tundra had become an actual character in the novela?)

Thank you, Elna June, for this delightful account.

P.S. I was relieved to hear that the fangs arrived safely at your pied à terre in time for Thursday's episode. No need to send them back -- I always have spares.

NM, Crackpot Theorist™

Televisa writers have a weakness for scorpions, it seems. In Triunfo del Amor, one of the sleazier villains had a giant scorpion tattoo on his neck and face.

I always figured that Adolfo assumed 'el Alacrán' as his nom de guerre as a sort of ironical homage to Pedro Medina. Pedro delivering live scorpions to EZ and 'Fofito' would be a way of getting the message across:

"I'm the real scorpion in this jungle -- and I always have been."

"I sure hope Montserrat has some amidst her "cremas"."

And there went the ice tea. After a particularly long conference call, this just had me rolling. Thanks Judy!!

Carlos, I remember how nuts I got when they showed Laurito playing with his remote control car in the street by himself and things were rather dicey back then too. Putting it down to perhaps plot point or writers who don't have kids and know how a real parent would react to that kind of statement.

So we are getting some Padre love and blessings on Mac and Dominga. Why am I getting the feeling they are making more of this secret thing with Mac then with anyone else? Does he have another one up his sleeve?

Daisynjay

I once did an astrological assessment of actors with regard to country of origin and whether they were high on my Hot List. I discovered that the air signs are extremely prominent among British actors; lots of Geminis, Libras, and Aquarians among them.

Televisa is heavy on Leo and Scorpio. There are a lot of Leos in this series, several prominent Cancers, and at least two Scorpios: (SS and Lisette). A lot of the actors on this series don't have their DOBs on IMDb, so we don't have a complete picture of this series.

However, for an actor born under that sign to be consistently playing villains isn't a big stretch of the imagination.

Hah! Well, my late mother-in-law was a Scorpio. Your analysis works for me.

So was my mother.

As for using pole-dancing as a way to get your figure back (33 years) postpartum, as usual, the Televisa writers have their collective finger on the pulse of pop culture. There was a piece in the NYT last weekend about some monied ladies who not only LUNCH, they LAUNCH (paint balls) and take pole-dancing classes at wildly expensive weekend retreats.

Honestly i never knew that Lisset was a Scorpio and im a Scorpio too:) And its not really strange, they say that the Scorpio sign is the strongest ,perfectionist and mostly,an arrogant sign. And Televisa does a great job potraying these characteristics.

I'm always a day behind watching the eps. Question about when Ref told Amelia that Pedro was dead. Did she say that now she could have Virginia come home now?

She did, Nanette. I was yelling at my television telling her not to do it, but she didn't seem to hear me.

EJ--I have to admit to not as yet having watched the episode. I was scared Montse would fall for the next oldest tn cliché and I just couldn't bear it (or bare it would be more truthful).

So, I waited to read your recap. The title made me sigh in relief. Read the recap and enjoyed all the snark you aimed at us, which all of us recognize as a higher order of authorship. Not everyone can make us laugh at the blind and anorexic.

Now off I go to watch the episode without having to chew my fingernails or throw nerfazos at the flat screen.

How dare MDA wave guns around. Aren't there any gun control laws in effect in an urbanized, densly populated city like Aguazul? Hmmm (one of MDA's nasty hmmms).

Maricruz:
I am delighted that you enjoyed the recap. Yes, isn't it hysterical how everybody is coming to live on the same set, ummm, same mansion, as the extension plods toward a final? I am certain that the show's budget had nothing to do with that. Smile.

Dear Novela Maven:

I must thank you for the quick delivery on the extra set of fangs. I was able to use my own well worn canines for the first half of this effort, and then I had to use the prosthetics. Wolfish grin.

As to mixing high and low culture, it feels so appropriate to do so for our little melodramas, no?

As to attributions, well, you all know I am terrible about remembering who said what first. I offer a little bow to Niecie for suggesting same and to Oxnard for commenting on TUNDRA and making him come alive for me. Now if Tundra was a horse, would he be called a Bay or a Chestnut? He most certainly not the usual white horse, requisite for El Principe Azul.

Come to think of it, Alejandro is no Principe Azul. It's probably appropriate that he have a rusty colored Toyota Truck.

One more thing, Maven. I really like your take on the REAL El Alacran. Nice crackpot theorizing! Sounds good to me.

Thanks Elna June for the great recap for we BLOGGERS and the shoutout as well.

It was great to see that the mighty Tundra was so spacious to be able to handle all of Monse's possessions at once.

But, alas, a happy ending it was not meant to be because of that certifiably BSC JL's antics. How could that monster let Monse stay in that house without any possessions, particularly without her beauty products?

And call me crazy, but did not the box that Addled got that contained his scorpion closely resemble the box that the hand was in?

EJ: Fun recap. Thanks. Loved the Whack-a-Mole comment. And this one “Wow! Their story is pretty lame but these two have great chemistry!”

You know how everyone always ends up at “the hacienda” in a TN. Well, in this one, it’s Fina’s house.

It really bothers me that Ale keeps leaving Mons in the house with a crazy man with a gun. In real life, that’s a recipe for tragedy.

No yelling, please. But I kind of feel sorry for JL.

Nanette

JL had a gun on Alec and her. How is Alec to blame for leaving Montse? Even she told him to go. He's not leaving her permanently. He's coming back from the previews with his own gun and rescuing her. LOL

Elna June,

Most of the scorpion-themed cocktails I found are rather potent, but I did find a California wine that you might find suitably sippable:

2010 Karly Mourvedre El Alacran

I've never heard of a Mourvedre wine, but perhaps with your more extensive wine knowledge, I suspect that you may be familiar with it. The Lovely Linda would be delighted to join us with a glass of this since she is quite fond (though perhaps not quite as much as Fabiola) of red wine.

The Scorpion Shot pictured is intriguing and appropriate for the more daring... Tequila blanca in a salt rimmed shot glass garnished with a lime wedge and a tiny scorpion. Our little Texas scorpions (which we also called sting-a-lizards when I was a child) are the perfect size and toxicity for this use.

Carlos

Peddy Jr's( The scorpions) are so adorable for me though:) The biggest irony of all this is that the Scorpion is half as bad as the pests which can assume a human form:)

Oh and the chickens are now confirm to be dead, sadly they perished on a dinner plate by EZ:(. Poor Lottie will never know from where he got the Chicks awww, She doesnt know for Coke, much less for some chickens, atleast they werent genetically modified:(

Diana,

"I'm a sucker for a man that is besotted with his wife."

Yes, I suppose I am too. But, alas, I don't think EZ is one of those men. I don't think he has been sincere with Carlota for one single minute. We have had a few glimpses of EZ's naked psyche when his face has revealed his hope followed by his hurt and resentment at Pedro's treatment. But I submit to you, as a Crackpot Theorist, that he has always worn a mask with Carlota. [And I dearly hope he has always worn a raincoat.]

I continue to believe that Graciela showed real feeling for her children:

We saw how stricken she was when Montserrat was shot and how she instinctively shielded Montserrat with her own body when Fabiola was waving a gun at her.

We saw how devastated she was by Dimitrio's preference for Rosario at Monica's funeral.

We saw real pity in her expression when she realized that Fabiola was her daughter.

That doesn't mean she is a good person or a good mother. Her maternal impulses are always suppressed or overpowered by her compulsive greed and drive to manipulate and deceive.

But I repeat -- she isn't devoid of maternal feelings. And maybe it is precisely that core of genuine emotion that allows her to be such an effective manipulator.

NM, CT

Elna June - Thanks for the afternoon delight. My favorites have been cited, but here are two more:

EZ Comes, EZ Goes, EZ Lies Like a Dog

Maria pops up like a Whack-a-mole

Yay, the writers respected Monse AND Viewerville. But, in addition to not falling for that ancient trick, I wish Monse had moved out that very day. When you live with a BSC person, you don't take till the morning to pack up and move out. I have a friend who had a BSC husband, and with professional movers she packed up all in less than an hour. The movers were sweating bullets because she'd alerted them to what she was dealing with.

I'm a softie for Marcario. His reunion with Padre Anselmo was more moving to me than the one with Ale. And Marcario even mentioned the Padre's (dead) chickens.

I'm starting to agree with the theory that Graciela is helping Pedro. Money is No. 1 with her, but she also enjoys insulting and manipulating others. There's nobody close in Italy for her to insult or manipulate, and I can't see her enjoying quiet solitude. Could it be that she's not in Italy and is actually hidden in Aguazul doing Pedro's bidding?

Urban, I like the idea of JL having a near-death experience with a visitation from Angelica. I would love to see the character again.

It's a crying shame that EZ is an evil, lying, fornicating murderer, cause other than that the man makes a great husband. Sorry to say that "dessert" line would've worked on me.

Thank you, Elna June, for that wonderful, snappy recap that brightened a difficult day.

I kept wondering why Ale did not bother showing that big goose egg that he must have from that crack on the head. I thought we would catch a scene of Nurse Mony lovingly attending to Ale's booboo.

Maria is nearing the bottom of the slippery slope that she has been gliding down since the very start of this novela.

I really think that one of these novelas should be entitled "When Bad People Happen to Good People." Our family's bad person has reappeared and gets the girls every week now after not contacting them for two and a half months. He just cut out a knot in the three-year-old's hair instead of bothering to brush it or comb it out...she has long, curly strawberry blonde hair. She also has nine mosquito bites on her arms after a bonfire. He wants our daughter to contact him about the girls only through his girlfriend. Here we go again. So frustrating. Sometimes , reality is stranger and darker than fiction .

Niecie: "It's a crying shame that EZ is an evil, lying, fornicating murderer, cause other than that the man makes a great husband. Sorry to say that "dessert" line would've worked on me".

Yup. Me too! :)

Diana

Oh Susanlynn...I am appalled to hear that your Bad Person is back and insisting on careless visitation, complete with girlfriend, no less. What a wretched situation. I would be grinding my teeth and fantasizing bloody revenge, I fear.

EJ thanks for another gem of a recap! Yes the JL plot is tiresome but you made this all so fun. More later.

Beanie moment: Maria's weak, off-center, flailing non-blow to Ale's big old hard head which magically and conveniently propels him like a rocket onto her bed! It actually looked to me as if the actor jumped onto the bed, as he was at a weird angle (leaning DOWN over her) when she struck him to fall on the bed as he did.

Thanks Novela for confirming the Virginia thing.

The repeating of Gracie’s real name has me wondering if she did something illegal when she was still using it and is wanted by the police.

What’s Macario’s last name, by-the-way?

Anon 1:11: In real life someone leaving someone else alone in a house with a crazy person with a gun would be beyond irresponsible. Have to keep reminding myself: it’s only a TN, it’s only a TN. And it’s our heroine so, of course, she’ll survive.

I think JL will die saving/protecting Mons or Laurito and there will be forgiveness all around. The last we see of JL he is meeting Angie in heaven.

Susanlynn, I am so completely dismayed to hear this latest news of yours. I am deeply saddened. I hope and pray that there is some way you can legally fight back. Sometimes, human nature is bewildering.

Fatima

Nanette,Its Macario Peralta and i too wonder if Gracie did even something more bad in the past, shop felonies maybe? But then again its just Fabiola speaking in Anger which is understandable.

And is it just me or i really dont like the new promos for Hasta El Fin De Mundo, the telenovela seems to lack spirit for me..Maybe its because Robo is such a depressive novela or the novela really seems to lack something and im not really a fan of Pedro Fernandez i never seen him act, like ever..

Yes but what can Alec in that situation do with a person pointing/threatening him with a gun and Montse telling him to go? He can't win with some/either. If he does something people will say he's being stupid. And if he doesn't do anything the same comment goes to him. It's not like he wants to leave her there with a mad man. He has tried to help and people have stop him like Victor, Finita etc.

Susanlynn, I echo Judy and Fatima in extending sorrow and solace for your latest news.

You are all so courageous. May you continue to persevere. Sometimes hope is all we have and at times, that needs to sustain us. Praying and keeping you all in my thoughts.

You all have me thinking, with the repeated mention of Graciela's real name and the theory being speculated that Pedro had to have had an aid and that aid may be Graciela. Although I originally thought he got up on his own, could it be true he has someone helping him. After all, Graciela left about the same time he was shot, but they never showed her at the airport taking a flight. Also she owed Pedro a favor for the Sandro clean up.

Here, this brings me to further speculate, that since we now know Graciela is not her real name, and in the past it has been mentioned that perhaps Pedro also may be going by another name, otherwise how could he have befriended and done business with Ben, the man who was involved in his accident.

Could it be that Pedro and Graciela are related in some way?

Hmmm?

Susanlynn,
How disheartening. I am so sorry that you and your family are going through this. You are in my thoughts.

Already 70 comments!

ElnaJune,
There is no way I can read through 70+ comments before tonight's epi without thanking you for your brilliant recap. It was beautiful to read, as always. Thanks for all your hard work.

The one thing I will say is WAY TO GO MONTSE! I was smiling at the screen when she went to pick up HER man. Too bad for BM...NEXT!

back to work & reading comments...hasta pronto!

Elna June---What a great recap. There were so many super zinger lines that it was hard to stop laughing long enough to finish reading. No white horse rescue but perhaps Montse would like the Tundra better. Hall of Fame Elna June.

CountxAlacran---There are many Peddy Jr's in your house, it's best to call Pest Control. That's a good line too.

People are wondering how the scorpions got in---I'm wondering how the magic cupcakes appear in the sweet shop. No one seems to be baking them.

WOW! Looks like it's going to be another gunfight at the OK Corral
esta noche. When Maria failed last night JL probably started listening to the old Elvis Presley song "I Want You, I Need You, I Love You" and it got to him

Susanlynn, so sorry to hear about this turn of events. Will be thinking and praying for you and your family.

Susanlynn- You seem to be inhabiting one of our endless American soaps. I truly wish your situation were taking place in lovely Aguazul, or Acapulco or even Monterrey and in 6 months IT ENDS. Thinking of you and sending you encouraging words to tough it out for your daughter and those darling grandgirls.

Niecie: I am so glad you came by.

Urban: I need you to translate for me. I do not know much about the Astrological systems so I do not know what personality traits are imputed by one being a Scorpio.

Elucidate, por favor.Thanks.

JudyB, it is always a pleasure to see you.

Susanlynn: I am so sorry to hear of the reappearance of your troublesome former son in law. I send kindest thoughts to you, the girls and their Mom as you all negotiate these tricky passages.

Novela Maven: I think you are on to something there about Graciela having a mother instinct that is overridden by her character disorder. If Daniela Castro had not made me feel a little bit or connection to Graciela, I would not have become so appalled by her mostly negative behavior. With this performance, Castro hitit out of the park.

Karen: Wonderful to see you, m'dear. I hope all is well with you. Let's connect sometime off line.

Maricruz: As a card carrying Crackpot Theorist™ I can only applaud your creativity in considering a possible relationship between Pedro and Graciela. You are also right that she owed him, AGAIN, big time after the Sandro mess. So what if he is her brother? They seem to be of an age.

My o my, that opens up a lot of possibilities. Haven't we already learned that Pedro Medina is not the Eunuch's real name?

Great work, Maricruz!

AuntyAnn: You are so very welcome! It is always so great to hear from you. How's the weather in your part of the world? Aren't you in New York? I read about some terrible storms that hit the State of New York last week. I cannot recall if I hear about anything happening in the NYC Metro area.

Gringo: So great to see you. I am delighted that the recap made you smile.

To you, Urban Anthropologist and CountX, it appears that there may be more than 80 species of scorpions in Mexico. I do not think they are at all hard to come by in those climes. No need for a pet shop!

The two arachnids we saw last night were definitely NOT brothers. They actually looked like quite different species when I stopped the DVR.

Elna June

Here is the lowdown on Scorpio.

I don't recall anyone specifically saying that Pedro Medina isn't his real name; I was speculating on that a while back. He has no family and he never speaks of any relatives. So that leaves it wide open for possibilities.

Gringo: Magic Cupcakes—you are right! Where are the ovens and kitchen? Hee hee hee.

I went into my fav local diner and bakery on Sunday. They were selling their trademark cupcakes for 25 cents a piece. I was shocked!

It turns out the owner made a mistake and had stayed up half the night baking an order for 10 dozen birthday cupcakes, but when she went to deliver them she discovered she was off on the
date. She delivered them one month early.

Naturally we all got a great deal on cupcakes that day. I do not think they were magic, though...

EJ

Thanks Urban for the low down on Scorpio. I know we were speculating about Pedro's identity, I just cannot remember if we actually ever learned anything. I think not—you are right.

EJ

Wow, Urban. Scorpio's sound a bit, well, treacherous.

Hmmm...

EJ

Susanlynn I am so sorry to hear about the situation your family is facing. I will add my prayers as well.

ElnaJune,
It's HOT in my neck of the woods. I do hope to visit NYC one day, but I live in Texas.

Susanlynn,
Sorry to hear about your family troubles. Prayers and positive thoughts going your way.

Back to work...hasta pronto!

Thanks for your time and successful effort in writing such a great effort.

Just wanted to say that I havent finished reading all the comments yet, but Dims moment of revelation got me thinking who who is the alacran? I got this idea that alacran identity might be Amelia. That she married Pedroe to keep tabs on him. Crazy thought, but I needed to put out there.

The Alacran is Adolfo and yes she did marry Adolfo to keep tabs on him but came to no success. Though i wonder who helped Pedro escape,my thought is JL because he was earlier on the crime scene before the rest of the tropps . Also where exactly was Loreto shot,in the head? And was he wearing a bullet vest at the time?

Can't stand Pedro Fernandez either. He is not kind on the eyes!

My last comment was for CountxAlacran! Sorry I forgot to mention name.

Yeah Victoria,i never seen Pedro Fernandez act but we shall see! Im only going to watch Hasta El Fin Del Mundo because of Julian Gil and Cesar Evora .Well atleast nothing can be worse then La Tempestad and Corazon Indomable ,right?

Oh yeah Victoria and for Diego Olivera too! I cant believe i forgot about him:) It seems that they are finally picking the thought of letting older actors play the protangoists...

Like Niece, I like Macario. I dont think his manner of speaking is babyish. I think its sing-song manner of speaking that many of the campesinos use. I always enjoy watching him. I loved when Dominga was encouraging Padre to scold him.

Susanlyn, with so many prayers going your way. Just take a day at a time, ask God for strength and Help. The situation will resolve, I have seen light shine through after giving up hope but still going through the motions THEN boom,....a breakthrough!!!
