TELEMUNDO Y MÁS -- Reina de Corazones: week of July 21, 2014

Here's your post for this week Reina fans. I can't wait until tonight's capitulo to see where we go with this novela. Thanks to all the folks who have volunteered to post recaps. They've been great.  Thanks to the commenters, too. As Navier said to Reina, "I'm not afraid of anything" (except boring novelas, which we don't seem to have here.) Enjoy!

Labels: ,

Comments:
Thanks Jean! Can't wait until the episode tonight! I'm loving this novela.

Is this novela really worth watching? I started to tape it but then there were so many negative comments, I gave up.

I have it on Prime Time with Time Warner and am wondering what everybody thinks.

Victoria- This tn moves fast and never gets boring (so far). It is also pretty nonsensical if you pay too much attention to details of the plot. But if you are willing to suspend logic, it's a fun ride. Just stock up on your telenovela beanies and go with the flow. :)

Victoria, I see Vivi already answered you over here while I was answering your question in the ROBO thread. So to be brief --

This one is a blast, but beanies are NOT optional!

Just confirming that I'm doing Friday again this week. Yes?

Yes, Sara -- please! We'd love it if you recapped this Friday!

OK. I'll try my best to get it up Friday night, but it depends on the DQTQTQ recap.

And Victoria, this one is a blast. Beanies are a must!

Sara, Friday's adventures of The Boy with the Dragon Tattoo can surely wait until Saturday. Two in one evening is just plain showing off!

hahahahaha

Ok Here is my recap. Sorry for the typos! Was trying to finish it tonight. feel free to ass in what I missed!

MONDAY PART I

Our story starts off today with Reina and Navier. Reina wants him to go to the doctor. No! He says. Do you have gauze? Cotton? Disinfectant? Then we are all good! No , he is bleeding too much. He puts his foot down and says no doctor! Fine than she will take of him. No he has been taking care of himself all his life. He didn’t even have a momma who took care of him. He has never relied on people before. Why should he start know?

Victor is taking to the hooded guy. Stefy is passed out on the floor. The person who has the red diamond is a woman known as the Queen of Diamond. Hooded guy has heard of her. She was negotiating with his brother. Victor is sure she betrayed his brother. Maybe it was him, hooded man asks? Victor is a business man-she ruined his business and probably killed his brother. Victor proposes an alliance- Give him 48 hours. He’ll get the red diamond back and sell it to him. But he has to let them go. If she really is the Queen of Diamond, he is going to make her an offer that she can’t refuse.

Miriam wakes up in the hospital. Lazaro tells he that she had ANOTHER overdose. Miriam blames Lazaro because he left her. Why does he want to change her? She doesn’t like her reality and wants to escape it. Lazaro reminds her that her son is part of her reality. What about Lazaro? He is just her son’s father. That’s it!

Isidoro shows up at Connie’s house. She is in her PJ’s. He enters and kisses her. Is she alone? No m nephew is in the other room. Dammit she can’t imagine the things that he wanted to do to her tonight. He kisses her again. Please don’t do that-he doesn’t understand what he does to her when he kisses her. He kisses her again and then walks out. She fans herself. She then runs out to give him his jacket and he grabs her and pulls her into his car and kisses her passionately. Full make out session.

Navier is on the bed in his underwear-boxer briefs. (I swear it’s the same pair was wearing during his first love scene with Stefy! ) Does he feel better Reina asks? Yes a lot!

Vicor and Stefy are alone now. He is comforting her. He tells her they are gone. What were they talking about? Oh nothing just about a woman that when he sees her, he will eat her alive!!

Navier has fever. You know what that means!!! He starts rambling on and on about the love that betrayed him. He still thinks about her! Why does he deserve her? Why did she betray him if he loved her so much!

Victor and Stefy arrive at her home. Her stepson is there-drunk. He accuses Victor of being one of her many lovers. He then tells Victor that he was with Reina in Paris. She knew his father was murdered. That’s why someone is trying to kill her!! Victor than punches him and he falls to the floor. Don’t worry, Victor says. No one will bother her! Stefy can’t stop worrying after what happened tonight. Victor hasn’t been able to live in peace for over 20 years, sonce he met her!

More Navier fever talk!! “You are my owner, my world, my everything! Then you turned into my nothing. After you I never felt whole again! Never again!” He is going to get better Reina says. He is not going to die!

Juancho and Lazaro are at the hospital. Lazaro is sending Miriam to rehab. Then Greta’s BF shows up looking for her family. Her mom is outside. Lazaro tells Juancho that the BF will bolt when he finds out that she is paralyzed! Lazaro than gets a text-he has Miram’s cell phone. The text says “ I want to sleep with you know!” Miriam has a lover, Lazaro exclaims!! But he doesn’t care-he was never in love with her!

Stefy’s stepson accuses her of killing his father. She doesn’t care how he diesd if he rises from the dead or if Reina knows. She has more important things to worry about! She then breaks a liquor bottle and brings the jagged edge to his throat. Don’t mess with her! He might not know how his dad died but he will know how he is going to die!

MONDAY PART II

Clarita is upset and goes to Victor’s room. She wants to sleep in his bed. He tells her to go away-Forget he is her father, go to her room! He then hugs Greta’s picture and says she is his only daughter.

Navier and Raina are in the bathroom. Apparently the only way to lower his fever is to put him in the shower! She helps him to get into the shower by taking off his shirt (shot!) There is his tattoo! (shot!)

Does it hurt, she asks? This hurts him more (placing his hand over his broken heart). He then scolds her for still using “Usted” instead of “Tu” considering he is in his underwear. Reina grabs his face and goes in for a kiss. (Emmy should go to Siller for his fabulous acting skills-passionately kissing while feverishly shivering is not easy!) Maybe the water is really that cold?

Post commercial no continuation of the kiss!! I am very upset about this -what a tease! His fever is down! (It’s a miracle) She is trying to dry him. He can do it himself-remember he is used to being by himself! She stares (as we all do) He is about to take his underware off. Ok… she says while drooling. He thinks its better that she doesn’t look at him. Ok… more drooling... She stumbles out of the bathroom.

Connie comes back into her house. What did she do? What does he think of her now? She then calls him and starts rambling on about how she is not that type of girl. That she had a BF of 9 yrs and waited 5 months before giving it up. They were engaged to be married until he left her for someone else. He was an idiot! Isidoro says but I gotta go. Talk to you later!! Connie feels like an idiot and says “ Bird that ate..flew away!” (another one of those sayings that sounds bettering Spanish!)

Isidoro hangs up to talk a call from Victor. Victor tells him to put the word on the street that there is another prized jewel for sale. “ La Corona” (the crown)? Why? Because the Queen of Diamonds is going to die!

The mysterious video recorder is standing outside of Reina’s house. He/she gets shot by Balboa. He takes the camera.

Next morning Navier is looking better. Reina makes him breakfast and sewed and ironed his clothes. She is wearing one of her old dresses and feels more like her self. He has a flashback of her in the dress She tells him that he was talking during the fever about a woman that he deeply loved but who betrayed him. He loved her with all his heart and body! The way he talks about her, he seems to still love her. Maybe…why is it that you can’t stop loving the bad ones?

Esfy is at the cemetery digging up her daughter’s grave. Susana is at the hospital with Greta offering to help her with physical therapy. These days there are a lot of medical breakthroughs. They are even bringing people back from the dead (ohhh a zombie novella! Ill watch that!) Estfy opens the tiny coffin, gasps and takes out a creepy doll. She’s alive after 20 years!

Victor is going to pay for this. Apperantly she only pretended to be passed out at the beginning of the episode. She heard everything he said to the hooded brother. He doesn’t know that she is the Queen of Diamonds. The hunter is going to become the hunted!

Greta and Lazaro are alone in her room. Help me to die she asks him!

MONDAY PART III

Navier doesn’t eat his breakfast. He imagined things during his fever. Yes nightmares, Reina says! No, not nightmares. Has she changed her mind about having a driver? No, now less than ever. In fact she tells him to stay away. She losses control when she is with him. But she wants to keep losing control, keep losing her shame, and keep losing her clothes. She wants to be his-she is dying! Cue the passionate, passionate, passionate kissing!!

Victor and Delfina arrive to the house. He sees a man’s belt and takes out his gun. He walks into the room and Reina screams. She is by herself in the bed. Victor wants to know where he is. Who, Reina screams? Victor shows her the belt-this is a man’s belt, her lover’s belt! She screams that she is by herself-no one else is there. Drop the gun!! Both of them are going to be sorry, Victor screams. Navier is seen peeking out of a footlocker. How did he get in there so fast?

Greta tells Lazaro that she is not crazy-she can’t feel her arms or legs. Lazro says, she is young-God is the only one that can decide. Than ask him why her? Please have mercy on her. She will give him all the money that he needs! Just inject her with something! Susana arrives and Lazaro leaves

Reina keeps telling Victor she doesn’t know whose belt that is and she is by herself. He grabs the handle of the footlocker and opens it. Navier is not in there!!! He is under the covers!! That footlocker didn’t appear that big! Victor than starts acting cray cray hugging Reina and asking for forgiveness. He gets crazy with jealousy. She would be incapable of cheating! He then grabs her throat and starts choking her while kissing her!! If she cheats, he is capable of doing anything. If she cheats, he will kill him, then her and then himself! She looks terrified. He has a sick love for her. He is capable of killing her. He never thought he would feel this jealous!!

Estfy continues her cemetery triade: He ripped her from my insides and she will rip his insides! Lopez looks shocked. It’s only a metaphor Lopez but it’s not a bad idea after what he did to her. She isn’t scared of anything, not even the curse of the red diamond. He has an irresistible trap for her, but she has a fatal trap for him!!

Great asks Susana for money. She has a debt to pay. If she loves her, she will bring her the money.

Victor (who seems to have taken his meds now) tells Reina that its too dangerous for her by herself. She needs a bodyguard-Navier or someone else. She doesn’t want anyone. If it wasn’t for Greta he would be protecting her. He would give up his life for her.

Reina tells him that he is going through a hard time. He needs to have faith that she will get better. She will give him that strength. He says something about giving Navier a bonus so he can leave his taxi job and go back to being a stunt double in Calif .

Victor leaves and goes to the car where Delfina is waiting for him. Reina has a lover. She was with someone in the house. He must be invisible Delfina says because she was in the car the whole time and didn’t see anyone.

Navier tells Reina he doesn’t want to go back to Calif. He wants to stay here with her.

Victor tells Delfina that he is acting dumb because he is planning something for the owner of this belt. There hasn’t been a woman who has been unfaithful to him that has lived to tell the tale. She looks slightly worried.

MONDAY PART IV

Reina tells Navier that he has to leave. She has to be fine for her daughter. He is Reina’s death sentence. Victor almost killed them. She can’t live like that. They have to choose. She chooses her daughter. Please leave! He isn’t leaving and kisses her on the neck. Then he walks out the front door (Without looking out the window. What a dumb secret agent!)

Navier is in Smith’s offie- Reina needs protection. Smith agrees and gives him the video recorder and tells him how Balboa killed the man who was taping them. Navier tells her not to take him off the case. So does he have a plan to be her driver? No, her lover!!

Reina is in the confessional telling the priest all her impure thoughts!! ( I never had a confession like that!) Since she can’t remember her first time, she is almost like a virgin again and wants to lose it to him! She doesn’t want her husband to touch her.
Navier tells Smith Reina wants him in her bed not her car.

Reina tells priest she didn’t want Navier to leave-she hoped he would have convinced her to let him stay.

Smith ok’s the Lover plan! She also tells him that he has to get the diamond doll back to Estfy. Maybe she bought the doll or it was a gift from her late husband? Maybe she is innocent? He is defending her? He owes her a lot!

Esfy keeps saying she will play Victor’s game better than he can!

Victor calls Navier and they meet in a strange place-an abandoned building. Victor was with his wife today. Navier left her car at her house. She fired him today. Yes Victor knows. He also knows why. He then shows Navier the belt!! UH OH!!!

Uh I meant "add" in what I missed..not ass what I missed!! Time for bed!

Many thanks, Caroline!!! I absolutely loved "Without looking out the window. What a dumb secret agent!"...especially true since it was still very possible that Vic was still outside.

As long as Eugenio keeps stripping and Isidro keeps smooching, I will put up with all kinds of shenanigans!

Speaking of Izzy...he better legitimately fall for Connie or I am going to be one unhappy camper. Do you hear me writers?

Wonderful job, Caroline! Thanks! If you missed something, so did I because it sure seems like you got it all.

"(Emmy should go to Siller for his fabulous acting skills-passionately kissing while feverishly shivering is not easy!)"

Definitely. hahaha.

I loved the way the next day, Navier and Reina were back to 'usted.'

Say, does anyone know why Juanjo is hanging around the hospital?

Perhaps he's still waiting for his reward from Susana?? lol

what about Victor? Was he for real acting crazy jealous about Reina? Or was it all an act?

Victor needs meds. I can't figure him out at all. I think it's not jealousy, but more like he's trying to control her. It makes him angry if he thinks he's losing that control.

He was a complete jerk to Clarita, too. I guess that's to be expected though. I did NOT like him lying there clutching that picture of Greta, though. Too weak and snively. If he's gonna be a though guy, I don't want any weakness! Well, ok, his daughter is paralyzed, but really? Clutching her picture?

Sara-Ditto about Izzy. Don't break Connie's heart, she's too sweet and awkward!

This novela is kind of a guilty pleasure for me now. It's nonstop and doesn't make too much sense but at least it's not boring.

Cassandra G.

Great recap, Caroline!

Victor definitely needs more meds! This super jealousy thing was definitely weird. I guess it's part of his control thing but what did he think might happen when he put his wife in the care of the world's hunkiest guy?

It was funny to see Navier keep popping up out of that footlocker like a jack in the box. How did he fit in there? How did he get that blanket over him without making a noise or having it look like a blanket on top of a guy? Oops, time to tighten the beanie!

Now Victor is being mean to Clara. Being a good dad was his only redeeming feature. I thought he was cradling a picture of the daughter who committed suicide.

So Rocky didn't even try and arrest the guy who was taking the video; he just shot and killed him? Besides the fact that even the CIA can't do that in the USA, I wonder if Rocky is really a good guy.

So did anybody have sex last night? Connie and Isidro? Navier and Reina?

The quadriplegia story is standard telenovela fare but look at it this way - of the three typical novela consequences of falls and blows, we've already had two - amnesia and paralysis in the first two weeks. All that's left is blindness.

Jean- I got the same little prickle when Rocky shot the dude with the camera. Could Rocky be a double agent?

Excellent, Caroline!

I don't think the writers have decided yet what Victor feels for Reina, so it's no wonder he seems schizophrenic.

They had great fun will all the titillating scenes between Izzy and Connie (who is still on my crap list for not letting panicked Reina in), and Navier and Reina. That scene with the priest cracked me up. The poor man probably has never heard such a hot a bothered confession. I had been wondering why Reina seemed so at ease getting it on with Navier, when as far as she remembers she's still a blushing virgin.

Rocky just shooting that guy dead had me shaking my head too, but his boss Smith didn't seem to have a problem with it.

Vic had that line about "the body remembers". Maybe Reina's body remembers Navier. He may need to take his shirt off a few more times to confirm it though.

Loved your recap, Caroline. The novela continues to be fun and confusing. Perhaps we should rate novelas by the number of beanies it requires. Sort of like a three-handkerchief movie (a real tearjerker). Reina is looking like a 300-beanie TN. I went through several in last night's episode alone.

Vivi: We don't know what Rocky told Smith about how the video-taping guy died. He could have said that the guy pulled a gun on him.

RECAPPING REINA

Just to remind you -- I will do a quickie recap of Wednesday's episode since nobody else has stepped up to volunteer. I'm not signed on as a regular recapper though. Wednesdays are still WIDE OPEN!

If anyone wants to pick up Wednesdays, please let me know. If I don't hear from you, I will do this week (tomorrow, 7/23).

If you've never done any recapping, this would be a great one to cut your teeth on. Piénsalo

Thanks Caroline!

I also have never heard such a confession. It was hilarious. Reina also yearns and aches for Navier. Estefania is not alone.

So all this time Estefania has been bringing flowers to a doll? Wow! I was expecting for her to find rocks in the tiny coffin like Adriana on Amores Verdaderos. Will Estefania go around carrying that doll in her purse now?

Yes!! Why did Rocky shoot the man with the camera without attempting to arrest him and find out who he was?

I felt so bad for Greta. I bet Lazaro will be there by her side to give her the strength she needs to fight so she can recover.

I also hope Isidro falls in love with Connie for real.

thanks so much Caroline!
this story jumps around so much it's hard for me to get everything,
and your recap really helps out.

so Victor had a doll buried in Stefi's baby's grave, ha!

was it a black diamond Victor is advertising to sell?

and Greta is having Susana bring her a bag full of cash to pay Lazaro to put an air bubble in an injection,

and Reina fired Javier because being around him makes her nuts, so she confessed it all, and Smith has given Rocky the job of watching out for her, so what's Smith's sad story?

and after Stefi sticks a broken bottle to his neck, a drunk Andre orders up some of Miriam's melons, and why does Lazaro have her phone.

and why is Juanjo hanging out at the hospital?

and Isidro's new hobby is Connie, bet she forgot to make dinner again.

Reina continuing to stand and stare, and stare at his package, when Navier said he was going to take off his undies (so, get out) was hilarious. Could she drool any more?

Deb, Lazaro has Miriam's phone because he was with her when she was admitted to the hospital for her OD and was probably given her valuables.

So did anyone else think that the masked shorty -- the one who said he was the dead narco's brother and threatened Victor and Stefi -- looked a bit like Andrés? I wondered if Andrés was fake drunk in the next scene...

Mauricio,
In Lo que la vida me robó, they buried rocks in a tiny coffin too (though the mother whose child had been stolen didn't go around with rocks in her purse -- she had enough rocks in her head). "Box o' Rocks" is quite the novela trope these days.

Vivi,
I understood why Reina had to leave when Navier took off his undies, but I didn't think we were going to be kicked out too. :D

Thanks so much for the terrific recap, Caroline. You're a natural.

Something that always bothers me: Guy, usually hero guy, gets shot and in the space of an hour the wound is infected, his fever spikes, he shakes all over, and is delirious. Them's some powerful bacteria in Telenovela Land!

I can't figure Victor out either. Just on the face of it we might assume he was faking that extreme jealousy mood when he was pointing the gun at Reina. I thought that because he then goes out to Delfina in the car and is cool as a cucumber telling her that Reina has a lover.

He did say something to the effect that she was giving someone else what he most wanted in the world. So that's evidence for our suspicion here that she's never done the deed with him.

But that was one fine jealous rage that Soler showed us, so maybe he really IS that jealous of Reina.

Boy, it didn't take long for my quadriplegia prediction to happen. Greta went right to suicide and didn't stop long at the other grief steps.

thanks for your recap Caroline!

I was looking forward to this tn, and so far for me it hasn't disappointed. I've never seen the actress who plays reina, but I'm really liking how she plays her character. She's confused & venerable, but she also gusty.

Sara, I agree about victor clutching the picture in bed. I know he cares for his (bio)daughters, but idk, kind of seemed out character, & weird maybe?

Vivi, I thought the same thing about connie when she wouldn't let reina in. At least juanjo checked on her later. Although hopefully they make up sooner rather than later, so connie can give reina truthful facts about her past.

Novelera, never thought about how cool he was afterwards, so he could of been faking the out of control jealousy. I'm guessing in the past he would control her with fear, and plans on doing the same thing, maybe?

Tks to those who have been recapping, esp. with all confusing storylines! This show is sooo addicting with all the intrigue, can never wait for the next episode!

jlk

Caroline - thank you for the recap. I enjoyed your editorial commentary, too. LOL

Victor choking Reina, etc., then being cool and calm in the car with Delfina is a classic wife-batterer control freak behavior. That did not surprise me, at all. I heard lots of stories like this when I worked in a battered women's shelter, answering the crisis lines.

I really was amazed when the Guy with the Dragon Tattoo (drink!) could smooch on Reina /shivering all over the place from a high fever.

I, too, am starting to wonder if Rocky is a double agent. The plot thickens!

Yeah, I'm telling you that I don't think Reina ever slept with Victor during those eight years they lived together.

Also, speaking of doing the deed...did Connie have sex with Izzy in the car? Or did she apologize profusely because she was embarrassed for losing control, and letting him fondle her to that extent? Because it was implied that it went further than just that.

Thelma: I think Connie did have sex with Isidro in the car. She told Lazaro that last night.

I certainly don't believe that Reina has ever had sex with Victor. As noted before, it would violate a novela rule. While I can think of a few occasions where this rule has not been followed, I very much doubt it in this case.

Jean - ITA about Reina never having slept with Victor. I think that is one reason he's so anxious to bed her now that she's got amnesia. Also probably why he's been using Delfina all those years. (Eeew!)

It's hard to figure out whether Connie & Isidro "went all the way." In a car in front of her house? Wouldn't there be the chance of passersby? (ack!)

It was funny last night when after her advances were rejected by Victor, Delfina asks what Reina has that she doesn't. Some class?

Jean- I had precisely the same thought about Reina having class!

Jean - "class" was what immediately came to my mind, too!

I'm probably the only one who sees it, but every once and a while Paola Nuñez reminds me of Susana Gonzalez.

Connie did sleep with Isidorio in the car. She confirmed it to Juancho when talking about her "friend"

I thought it was rather silly of Victor to conclude that Navier was the lover simply because he fit the belt, but very clever of Navier to get Victor to try the belt himself to show that HE also fit the belt-- then he made that crack about Victor maybe being his own wife's lover. Ha!

So the FBI even succeeded in planting the photo of someone else with the story of Nicolas being shot up and arrested for the drugs. They sure are good. Now it just means that Reina will think that Gabriel Coronel is her one true love.

Vivi, your telenovela brain is working on all cylinders.

I hadn't thought of Reina now thinking Gabriel Coronel is the man she loved so much.

Wonder how they're going to work him into the story since Nicolás is supposed to be dead.

Ah, so that is who the picture was of. It obviously wasn't Navier but I didn't recognize the picture. I only watched about the first 2 episods of Relaciones Peligrosas.

I'm sure they will work him into the story in some improbable way. Maybe he was a narcotrafficante whose picture was handy. Unless the CIA WANTS to set up a rival to Navier, it would have made more sense to have no picture or such a blurry picture that it could have been anyone.

For some reason, the belt scene made me think of Johnny Cochrane at OJ Simpson's trial saying, "if the glove doesn't fit, you must acquit," except that this was the opposite and only proved that Reina's supposed lover wasn't a fat guy!

Jean- I had the same thought! LOL!

"Wonder how they're going to work him into the story since Nicolás is supposed to be dead."

Since Reina has amnesia and probably NObody in her life knew what Nico looked like, they can easily tell her this guy was him.

Cool! I had no idea that was a picture of "someone" so I didn't realize it was a soon to be introduced character (I had looked up that actor last week when Thelma mentioned him, but clearly had not remembered the face.) Thank for the info, Vivi.

And this TN has clearly brought out the group think in us because I actually said aloud to the TV: "If it doesn't fit you must acquit!"

And clearly I use "clearly" way to often.

Gabriel Coronel as an actor is fairly fresh in my mind because he played Sonya Smith's selfish son who eventually redeemed himself in Marido en Alquiler

I'm looking forward to Navier getting all kinds of jealous once new guy comes on the scene and Reina thinks he's "the one."

novelera - eew! I hated that selfish son and quit watching Marido en Alquiler because of him. I hope I like his character in this one.

Reina de Corazones, Tuesday, July 22

Note to stevey: My apologies if you are working on a recap. If you have something, please go ahead and post it!

Part 1

Connie makes several desperate calls to Isidro after her car quickie. Later, Reina bursts into her house and insists on knowing what happened to break up their friendship. Connie tells her side of the story. Reina learns that she was planning to marry a humble parking valet before her head was turned by the millionaire she ended up with.

Lázaro accepts Greta's offer to help her die, but he uses reverse psychology to get her to beg him to let her live. He injects some yellow stuff into her IV bag and then leaves the room with the Suitcase Full o' Cash that her pea-brained mom Susana has obligingly provided. He hands it over to Susana, who is outside the room with Stefi and Greta's Putz of a boyfriend, telling her what Greta tried to do and advising her to watch her daughter more carefully -- someone else might be willing to take her up on her offer. And the stuff he put in the IV -- a sedative to let her sleep.

When Victor hears the story, he calls Susana an imbecile. Stefi defends her. Victor kicks Stefi out of Greta's room.

Navier convinces Victor -- at least for now -- that he isn't Reina's lover and that he doesn't know who is. The belt fits, but Victor must acquit since it fits him too.

La Corona!
Victor opens his bank safe deposit box and removes the jewelled crown. He holds it up and gazes at it more lovingly than he has ever looked at Reina -- or at anyone else, for that matter.

Reina googles Nico and finds the official version of his murder. Meanwhile Rocky watches and reports back to Navier.

Navier sidles up to Reina at the internet cafe. He is invisible because he is wearing a black cap and shades. He tells her about Victor's belt theory. She tells him she now understands why someone is trying to kill her -- it's because of Nicolas Nunez, the love of her life who turned out to be a narco.

She leaves the café with the screen still displaying the Nuñez story. Navier pulls up a photo of someone we haven't met. Is this supposed to be the dead Nicolas?

Lopez reports to Stefi that their ploy is bearing fruit. They have an offer for the red diamond -- the crown that once belonged to the Queen of Hungary and was stolen by the Black Falcon twenty years earlier. Stefi knows this is dangerous territory, but if Victor wants to know the Queen of Diamonds, he is going to get his chance.
[I have no idea what any of that means, nor do I care. I am just your faithful recorder.]

Greta wakes up and realizes she's alive. She sees her parents and knows they couldn't be in heaven with her -- they'd have to be in hell. Susana says she knows what Greta tried to do and how the nurse intervened. Is Greta grateful to Lazaro? Nope, she is bitter -- she says she hates that damned nurse!

Laz wants to send worthless Miriam to rehab, but it's super expensive. Where will he get the money? His luck has got to change.

Before we know it, he is dragging Miriam kicking and screaming to The Light. (No, not that light -- it's the name of the rehab center.)

Connie gives herself away when she tells Juanjo about her quickie in Isidro's car. Even the doctor in the room, who happens to overhear their conversation, thinks she's a fool if she expects Isidro to call her.

Part 2

The wicked stepmother presses the odious bitch Delfina to go to the hospital and pretend to care about Greta. Delfina remembers how Reina got her a job in Victor's company, even though her only skill -- well, her only other skill -- was making coffee.

Victor shrugs off stepmother's phony sympathy and warns her daughter, the odious bitch, to forget about how their "relationship" began just as he has, or he is going to kill her.

Reina has called Rocky and asks his help in finding Nicolas Nuñez. After her talk with Connie, she's convinced that her attackers are after her because of his narco connections -- or maybe Nico himself is after her. The whole conversation, meanwhile, is monitored by Smith, Bolivar and company at the CIA headquarters.

Rocky dashes her hopes when he tells her that Nicolas is dead. Navier is meanly pleased that she feels as he does -- hopeless and with no way out.

Navier climbs onto the roof of Stefi's house and sneaks into the Doll House; he replaces the Doll with the Diamonds in her Eyes. He hurries out when he hears Stefi screaming like a fishwife for her tea. He is still lurking outside on the very steeply canted roof, when Andrés bursts in, ridicules Stefi for her doll fetish and then grabs at her.

Navier gets entry through another window and then rushes into the Doll House and rescues Stefi. Just for good measure, Stefi knees Andrés in the groin.

Good cop Christian tells Victor that the higher-ups pulled him off the Reina case.

Victor gets a mysterious invitation from the Queen of Diamonds. She is prepared to accept the Crown in exchange for the red diamond.

Reina gives Clarita a sewing lesson in her old house.

Victor's housekeeper Asunción tells Reina that when she lived with Victor, she (Reina) was the unhappiest woman in the world. That's why she advised her not to return to the mansion.

Isidro interrupts his hot make-out session with Connie to pick up Asunción and Clarita and take them back to the mansion.

Stefi explains to Navier that she has been collecting dolls for her daughter all these years as a way of keeping her close. She wants him to spend the night with her. He can't -- tonight he begins to exact his vengeance.

Victor rejects the advances of the odious bitch Delfina. She is offended.

Isidro arranges per phone for someone to watch Reina and be prepared to act.

The putz has a surprise for Greta -- so a priest and a judge walk into a hospital room...

Just as he is professing his great love to Greta, the putz gets a text message: "Either you pay what you owe me, or I'll reveal that you are responsible for Camila's suicide."

Lazaro enters Greta's room and looks on suspiciously as the putz tells Greta that he wants her to marry him more than ever. Greta accepts his proposal.

Juanjo eavesdrops on Susana's admission to Christian that she is a woman so full of resentment, she was capable of hiring a hitman to do her bidding. Who did she order a hit on? Victor? No. On Reina. Oh ho!

Wicked stepmother gives Delfina a little gun and tells her to make her mama proud.

Reina lights several candles. She slips off her dress and steps in the shower. Someone holding a gun enters her house, enters her bathroom...

That's all folks!

Thank you, NovelaMaven, for pinch-hitting a recap of last night's episode.

Yes, thanks, Novela Maven, for the recap of last night's episode. Did you see the look the putz gave the bag of money when Lázaro gave it back to Susana?

De nada, Doris and Jean!

Oh yeah, Jean, the putz is definitely looking to follow the money!

Thanks NovelaMaven! Now we know who sent the blackmail video.

Thanks NovelaMaven!

Wow! So the putz sent the Girls Gone Wild video. I was shocked. I wasn't expecting it to be him.

Hmm...so how old would the putz be now? Wouldn't he be wayyyy too old for Greta. Beanie time again?

I also noticed the putz eyeing the bag full of money.

Why does Carmen insist on dressing the way she does? Where is the Fashion Police?

Was Delfina wearing a French maid outfit?

I loved Navier's diguise - a cap and dark glasses with his curls still showing. Where did he learn how to become a secret agent?

Mauricio - I think Navier went to the "SecretAgentsRUs" school.

I have a real problem with the way Connie told the Nicolas story. Even without knowing all the details, she still knows Reina met Victor AFTER Nicolas was shot up and caught with drugs. She knows Reina didn't dump the poor guy for the rich guy. Poor guy was accused of a serious crime and killed or jailed for it. Then Reina met Victor. It still makes no sense that Reina didn't tell her BFF Connie all the details before Victor came and started cutting off all her ties. I know Connie was traveling part of that time to go to the funeral of the woman who raised her, but there are phones. I know, I'm looking for logic and I need to let it go. :)

Miércoles – Part 1

Arrgh!! We're having severe thunderstorms here and the beginning of the show was pre-empted by a weather announcement! When we went back to our regularly scheduled program, Navier and Reina were kissing passionately in the shower! [I did see part of this in the promos – Navier surprised Reina in the shower, his clothes come off, etc. etc. So post amnesia, the shower is their make-out place – works for me!

Greta's wedding ceremony is going on at the hospital and Damian, the putz, flashes back to sending the girls-gone-wild video to Victor's daughter, Camila, that caused her to commit suicide. He laughs maniacally. They need witnesses for the wedding. Greta wants her mother to be a witness. Lázaro brings a doctor in to try and stop the ceremony as inappropriate for after hours in intensive care but she just congratulates the groom.

In the hall, Susana asks Christian to forget what she just told him. He says that she has got him thinking – someone has tried to kill Reina twice. Susana swears it wasn't her hired killers. Then the putz comes out and tells Susana that he is about to marry Greta. ¿Que? Replies Susana and leaves Christian.

Victor arrives at the Thompson mansion and sees a woman in red. He recalls the invitation that said that the “Reina de Diamantes” (QofDs) would be dressed in red and would have the ginormous red diamond.

Back to Reina and Navier in the shower. They've done the deed. The house must have a really big hot water heater or it is the heat of their passion that is causing all the steam. Navier asks Reina how she feels and she replies that she is in “las nubes,” the clouds. She imagines this was what it was like the first time she made love. It was marvelous. Navier replies that is was wonderful for him, too, because he was with her. Back to passionate kissing. Reina pulls the shower curtain closed again and we see a gloved hand with a gun. Three shots are fired through the shower curtain. The curtain shows the shadows of the people in the tub falling (silently), blood runs down the drain. The shooter carefully writes, “La Traición se paga con sangre,” “Betrayal is paid for in blood” with lipstick on the bathroom mirror and leaves a playing card – the Queen of Hearts. Oh no! Are our heroes riddled with bullets and dead in the shower?

Victor and his henchmen see that the woman in red is Stefi in a red dress with an amazing cleavage. “¿Éres tú?” “It's you?” asks Victor, surprised. Stefi says yes but opens the door to the party and it is full of women in red dresses.

Navier and Reina are prone in the bathtub, which is now full of water. With a bloody hand, Navier opens the shower curtain and looks out.

Miércoles – Part 2

Lázaro tells Greta that she is a whack job – first she wants to die and now she is getting married. She replies that she hates him. In comes Susana who asks Greta if she is sure that she wants to do this. Yup, she says. She would be jumping for joy if she could. Putz says that all they need is two witnesses. Mom is one. Who should be the other. “the nurse, Lázaro,” replies Greta.

Navier (in pants) carries an unconscious Reina (in a towel) to the sofa. She has been shot in the shoulder. Good thing we know there is antiseptic and gauze pads in the house from treating Navier's wound. Someone knocks at the door. It's Rocky with a gurney. Navier has called him. Reina is taken away. Navier has a scratch but he is worried about Reina – she can't die. He tells Rocky about the note on the mirror.

Stefi gets a message on her phone that pleases her. She asks Victor what he is looking for. “Una aguja en un pajar,” he replies, “a needle in a haystack”. Stefi chides him for coming to a party and not being with Greta at the hospital.

Connie wants Isidro to come over for more nookie but he says he can't come tonight. Victor tells him to be alert, the Queen of Diamonds might appear at any moment. Isidro asks what if this is a trap? Victor replies that if it is a trap, Isidro had better not let him fall into it.

Navier is at headquarters. He is crazy with worry about Reina. He tells Smith that he was with Reina in the shower and didn't hear or see anything. Then there were three shots. The first hit Reina, the second wounded him and the third missed. He didn't see the shooter. He can't forgive himself for not saving Reina. Smith says that it is just a flesh wound, nothing serious. Navier is watching Reina being treated on the magic screen that shows whatever you want to see. Reina is given an injection. Smith says that it is a sedative. Navier asks how she knows this. Smith protests that these are their people. Navier becomes paranoid and accuses Smith of trying to kill Reina. He punches Rocky and runs out of the control room. Red alert – stop him!!

At the party, a woman in red comes up to Victor. She tells him that someone wants the crown very badly. Victor concludes that she is the QofDs. They go outside. Stefi is watching with binoculars.

Navier orders the medicos out of the operating room and picks Reina up.

The wedding ceremony starts. The putz takes Greta's hand and says, “Accepto,” before the judge finishes the “do you take...” question. Greta's turn. She hesitates, looks at Lázaro.

Navier is running away carrying Reina. He manages to disable two guards while carrying a full-grown woman – what a guy!

Miércoles – Part 3

The supposed QofDs produces the ridiculous-looking red diamond. Victor says that it is genuine. Victor produces the crown. They make the exchange. The QofDs is ready to leave. Victor insists on sealing the agreement in his way – he kisses the QofDs. Post kiss he tells her that he can't be deceived, she isn't the real QofD's and he kills her with his handy neck injector. Stefi is watching.

Navier brings Reina in to a room and Smith points a gun at him and tells him that he isn't leaving with Reina. Navier tells her to go ahead and shoot. She replies that she doesn't want to kill Reina, she isn't the enemy. Navier doesn't believe her. “It's over,” says Smith. “It's only just begun,” says Navier.

Everyone is waiting for Greta to say, “Accepto.” Suddenly, she has trouble breathing. Lázaro throws everyone out of the room and gives Greta oxygen.

Some guys attack Victor and knock him unconscious. Where is Isidro? Getting messages from Connie?

Rocky and Smith continue to try and convince Navier that they are the good guys. Reina half wakes up. She looks at Navier and says, “Nicolás.”

Greta gets a sedative and the wedding is off for this night.

Susana gets on the hospital elevator with Juanjo. She tells him that she knows he overheard her say that she is a murderer. Juanjo protests that he didn't hear anything but Susana pulls a knife out of her purse and stabs him! Ooops, it was a fantasy. Susana actually goes to Juanjo to apologize but he bolts off the elevator, saying that he didn't hear anything. Susana is confused. Delfina gets on the elevator. She's looking for Victor. Susana replies that the last place she will find him is Greta's hospital room. “Shouldn't Victor's wife, Reina, be looking for him?” asks Susana. “The only woman in Victor's life is me,” says Delfina, “Reina doesn't exist any more.”

Stefi's henchman, López, dumps an unconscious Victor into a hole that has a big metal door at the top. Stefi says that he has the nice tomb he deserves. She has the red diamond. She says that only a goddess or a queen is safe from its curse. Where is the crown?

Reina is in a bed (still wearing the unattractive surgical shower cap). Navier is fixing his latest wound. She wakes up and asks where she is. She remembers the shooting. She asks if Navier is ok. She uses “usted” with him. She says that he saved her life and asks if he saw the people trying to kill them. He tells her about the message on the mirror. She replies that she is the Queen of Hearts, the traitor who merits death. “Because when betrayal embraces you, it is because the traitor walks with you,” or something like that. Hey, I just report what they say. I don't know what it means but I know that it's deep.

Miércoles – Part 4

Navier asks if she has remembered something. She says no but she must be guilty of something. Maybe she betrayed Nicolás Nuñes. She wonders what happened to all the love she had for NN so that she ended up marrying Victor and having his child. “Maybe you didn't love him enough,” suggests Navier. Reina agrees. She takes Navier's hand and says. “Si lo hubiera amado. no te podria amar tanto que yo amo á ti,” “If I had loved him, I would not be able to love you as much as I do.”

Victor wakes up in the hole. He calls for help. Isidro is standing right over the entrance to the hole, which has been covered with turf. Stefi offers Isidro a drink but he says that he doesn't drink on duty. He is looking for Victor. He leaves. Stefi has left a phone with Victor. She calls and says, “Welcome to hell.”

Rocky comes in to see Reina. She asks where she is and how it happened that she was attacked in her own shower. Rocky says that her guard was killed but they have put on more guards. Reina is sure that they will succeed in killing her eventually. [After all, she was only saved this time because the shooter was so stupid that he/she didn't open the shower curtain and make sure that the job was done.] Reina tells Navier that she is afraid for her daughter; she is afraid for him. Navier says that he can take care of himself. She wants him to promise that nothing will happen to him because she would never forgive herself after their amazing lovemaking in the shower. She is the happiest woman in the world. She tells him to stay away from her but he replies that things happen that they don't expect and he loves her.

Miércoles – Part 5

Smith congratulates Navier on his strategy with Reina.

Smith and Navier listen to the microphones at Victor's mansion. Delfina is upset that Victor has disappeared. She wants to call the police. Isidro tells her that he will handle things. He tells his henchmen that they have to find the QofDs. “Who is the QofD's?” asks Navier.

Stefi tells López that nothing can connect her to the rental of the mansion where the party took place or the party goers. Fortunately, the false QofD's was a bad person so her ending up dead was ok. Stefi tells López to finish the operation. He knows what to do.

Andres comes in wearing bruises from his encounter with Navier. He apologizes to Stefi for being a lout. She asks why he is still hanging around the house. He replies that he isn't leaving until he finds out who killed his father and makes that person pay.

Next mornng

Stefi's got the crown. She calls Victor and says with a disguised voice that she is surprised that there is still air in the hole and that he is alive. She says that she is the real QofDs. The crown he brought to the exchange is a fake. He betrayed her and “La tración se paga con sangre,” “Betrayal is paid in blood.” Where have we heard that before?!?

Reina is missing from the hospital room when Navier comes in with coffee. He confronts Smith. She assures him that Reina is ok. Does he think that no one else can protect her? No, he replies but no one can do it better than he. Smith tells him she has another job for him – to find Victor and the QofD's. They don't have much info on the QofDs but this is the first time she has been linked to Victor de Rosas. Ah, Navier has the same thought as I did – he wasn't lucky in surviving the latest attempt on Reina. A hired killer with such bad aim – the assassin was inexperienced and messed up (but did kill the unfortunate guard outside).

Asunción finds a gun in Delfina's purse.

Greta is nasty to Lázaro. She calls him a traitor. Stefi comes to visit Greta. She offers her unconditional help. Greta says that she doesn't need any help – she has her mommy and daddy. She wants her daddy right now. She knows that he doesn't love her as much as her sister who committed suicide but she still loves him and needs him.

Anything for her daughter, I guess. Stefi goes to the party mansion and appears to be about to free Victor from the hole when Navier sneaks onto the property, points a gun at her and asks who she really is. “A killer,” replies Stefi.

Jean - Thank you for the recap.

Telenovelaland’s famous “bodus interruptus” struck again!

Now that she has told him she hates him, it's a done deal that Greta and Lazaro will end up together.

LOL moment was when Navier is carrying Reina through the halls and he *only* encounters a couple of guards **and** fights them off while carrying Reina the whole time. Very Batman-esque!

In addition to my telenovela beanie hat, I need to wear safety goggles so that my eyes don't roll right out of my head.

So Navier does the deed with Reina in her shower, which has a window that any peeping Tom could watch through, much less any number of baddies with a gun or camera? All I can think of is rotting wood trim around it and mold... in a shower.

I am tightening my beanie hat, adding a chin strap, and surfing amazon.com for safety goggles.

Thanks VERY much, Jean, for your superb, snarky recap! It clarified a lot for me and made me laugh over and over again. I especially enjoyed "the magic screen that shows whatever you want to see," "He manages to disable two guards while carrying a full-grown woman – what a guy!" and "Hey, I just report what they say. I don't know what it means but I know that it's deep."

So what kind of cell phone is it that Stefi threw into Victor's "tomb"? If it can receive calls, can't it also make them? Why hasn't he at least tried use the phone to call Isidro?

Doris, if you find a place that sells the right kind of safety glasses, please let the rest of us know.

Thanks, Juanita. It was a fun episode. I wondered about the cell phone Stefi threw into the hole, too. Why can't he make outgoing calls? As usual in these situations, there is some light in the hole although it isn't clear where it is coming from.

Doris: I was probably adjusting my beanie or staring at nekked bods but I didn't notice a window in the shower. It would have been all steamed up, though, from the action in that shower.

Jean, that was spectacular! I see Juanita and I had the same favorite lines, especially "Navier is watching Reina being treated on the magic screen that shows whatever you want to see." I also loved your speculation about Isidro's whereabouts when Victor was being attacked: "Where is Isidro? Getting messages from Connie?"

--There *was* a small, high window with cloudy glass in the shower.

Victor *tried* to make a call on the cell phone and then threw it down in disgust, presumably upon discovering that it couldn't make outgoing calls.

No safety goggles for me, please. I watch this one with my eyes WIDE OPEN and looking DIRECTLY at the pretty people on the screen.

Thanks again Jean! Welcome to Vegas!

Novela-Thank you for Tuesday's run down!!

Jean-Thank you for your run down as well. I have to single out "Hey, I just report what they say. I don't know what it means but I know that it's deep." I know exactly how you feel. I tend to not like those lines that seem (based on music and reactions) very important, yet despite understanding the words and can't understand THE WORDS (if that makes any sense.)

By no means can I say that this is a "quality" telenovela (when compared to say...Alborada.) However, I absolutely LOVE watching it. I have not been so entertained in quite some time.

Estefania had the best red dress.

QTH is that injecto-thingy that Victor has? It's a little sci-fi to me.

Thanks. Novela Maven and Sara.

Sara said: "...yet despite understanding the words and can't understand THE WORDS (if that makes any sense.)"

I don't like those lines either because I am never sure whether it is just pretentious nonsense or something I am not translating correctly and I spend a lot of time trying to figure it out.

I didn't mention that Victor's injecto-thingy leaves a mark in the shape of a diamond (wow). I thought Victor was the Halcon Negro, the Black Falcon. His killing device should leave a falcon mark.

There are what I would call serious high-quality novelas - my favorite being Dona Barbara and then there are novelas that have a lot of action and don't take themselves seriously - Zorro was like that and so was Corazon Valiente. It is no coincidence that Reina de Corazones was created and written by the person who did Corazon Valiente. They are a lot of fun to watch. I can't wait for each episode to see what is going to happen.

Unfortunately, it seems like the majority of novelas don't fall into either of these categories.

"I don't like those lines either because I am never sure whether it is just pretentious nonsense or something I am not translating correctly and I spend a lot of time trying to figure it out."

This. Often.

In my case, lines that I spend a lot of time trying to figure out tend to be a product of my projecting too much class, and intellectual content onto the show.

I hadn't even noticed that the Injecto-death 3000 left a diamond mark. I'll have to look closer next time.

I wish I had had Telemundo when Dona Barbara aired.

IMO there is a third category: They shows that don't fall into "quality" or "fun to watch" but the actors and the chemistry pull you in. I'm watching one like that right now. Not super high quality and certainly I don't get an exciting episode every day, but I love watching the actors.

" I tend to not like those lines that seem (based on music and reactions) very important, yet despite understanding the words and can't understand THE WORDS (if that makes any sense.)"

Me, I LOVE those lines. In fact, from now on, I'm going to start collecting them: The Wisdom of the Dragon???

" Injecto-death 3000"

Good one!

"The Wisdom of the Dragon"

Love it!!

Thank you, Doris!

Sara - That was NovelaMaven's. ;-)

I was thanking you, Doris for her compliment on Injecto-death 3000. ;-)

ugh. YOUR compliment.

I love those lines, too, but not when I've been writing a recap for 2 hours and we haven't even gotten to the opening credits yet!

Stefi and Lopez noticed the diamond mark on the body of the false QofD's. We don't know whether the CIA has noticed this yet or not. This is the second time Victor has used his injecto-death.

"I love those lines, too, but not when I've been writing a recap for 2 hours and we haven't even gotten to the opening credits yet!"

That is the worst feeling! I hate when I look at the time and then realize I haven't gotten to the opening credits!

Who was the first sap to get the injecto-death? I can't remember. Too many things are happening to remember them all.

The first injecto-death was the dealer that Isidro was questioning and torturing, but took a minute to take Connie's phone call. Then Victor showed up on the scene and the guy still could not tell him who is the queen of diamonds, so Victor did him in.

Maybe we should start a body count from the injecto-death gadget?

Ah yes! Now I remember!

Injecto-death 3000 Victims
1. Arab Gentleman-Vic didn't like his answer ("I don't know who the QoDs is!")
2. Fake QoDs-Vic didn't like being played.

I doubt we have seen the last of the Injecto-Death 3000. Who will be next??? Must see TV!

There is one burning question that I hope will be answered by the time this story ends --- why was Navier at the church when Reina was marrying Victor???

Hadn't Smeeth sent him there?

Sara- I don't remember. She may have, but then, for what purpose?

Argh... Word verification is a pill this week.

Doris and Sara,

Smeeth (hahaha) did send Navier, but we don't have the big picture yet. We know he is supposed to use Reina to get to Victor. But even Victor isn't the ultimate target. Smeeth is after the people above him, not yet identified.

thanks NovelaMaven for putting together a summary yesterday!

and thanks so much Jean for today's,
what a fabulous recap!

I was surprised at Reina telling Javier that Victor was Clarita's father.

I'm loving how Greta is trying to play Lazaro, by getting married to spite him, and how Lazaro is affected, but not being the dunce, and he is always right there by her side, caring for her.

so Juanjo hangs out in hospitals like some people crash weddings or funerals?
(so many different kinds of romance in this one)

had to laugh when we see all of the women are wearing red.

interesting that Javier comments that the attempted killing was amaturistic, and the gun we saw looked like the gun given to Delfina by Carmen, the same gun that later fell out of her purse that Asunción saw.
(even though the words written on the mirror were later spoken by Stefi)

and what happened to Victor's men watching Reina to find her lover?

so was this hospital, that Reina was in, in the basement of the Intelligence building?

I too noticed that Victor tried to make a call on that phone, also somehow Stepi's voice is being scrambled, interesting how everyone just walks by Stefi being the Queen of Diamonds.

the crown thing had me going because no one picked it up and it looked like the box it was in ended up in the hole next to Victor, hmm, does Stefi ever do a deal where she doesn't end up with everything?

and just to clarify something, did Reina tell Andres in France that she KNEW who killed his father, but wouldn't tell him till they got back.

Doris- I stayed in an old house in Florida once that had a window over the shower, you can put plants there and not have to worry about watering them.

Wow! Talk about "Must See TV". The Reina de Corazones portion of Caray, Caray is "Must Read First Blog". You guys are on fire today!

Jean, terrific recap. I sympathize about so much going on that you've been at it two hours when the credits finally roll.

Also, NovelaMaven, I didn't see your gem until this morning. Excellent!

Doris, I cracked up about the safety glasses for extreme eye rolling.

Do we think it's a huge red herring that Carmen gave Delfina [aka OB (odious bitch)] a gun exactly like the one we saw in the shower scene? She also told Susana later that Reina was out of the picture.

Speaking of shower scenes, I found that one ridiculous. I simply cannot conceive of doing the entire deed standing up with the water pouring down.

We knew Victor was not going to die in that hole in the ground, but I was impressed with the writer's solution. Stefi loves her daughter so much that she can't deprive her of her father.

Yeah, it is odd that the putz doesn't appear too old for Greta considering it was 8 years since he sent Camila that video. I forgot: Did he upload it so others saw it, or did he only torment and/or blackmail her, and she was the only one who saw it?

One more thing. Greta's behavior is just the cliché of clichés. In most television a person who becomes paralyzed because of an accident immediately turns into the nastiest person in the hospital.

Thanks, Novelera.

I wrote this recap scene by scene as it happened, pausing the playback where necessary. This gives the most detailed recap and the most opportunity to quote dialog, etc. To do it that way for me takes about 3 hours so sometimes I am more than an hour in before the opening credits roll, which are never at the beginning but are about 20 minutes in. Then you know that you have a long slog ahead.

I prefer to watch the whole episode without writing anything to see what happens and then consolidate the scenes - the whole QofD's party, for example, into one paragraph. I can then go through the episode again with a lot of fast forwarding. I think that way is faster but it might not be. The recap is definitely shorter that way.

If I'm going to write the recap at work, which I sometimes do, I watch the episode and take notes.

Novelera - I agree about sex in the shower - but novelas specialize in sex in uncomfortable places. How many times have lovers had sex in a field, on a beach, in a garden, in a pond, in a forest, in an attic, not to mention on the floor or on a table, often when perfectly comfortable beds were nearby!

There are so many people that we know about who are trying to kill Reina much less those we don't know about. Yes, Deb, what happened to those guards for Reina that Isidro hired for Victor?

I don't believe that the putz uploaded the video. If he had, Victor would not have concluded that it was Navier's fault that Camila committed suicide.

I know Reina told Andres that his father was murdered. I think he told the CIA that she was going to tell him who was responsible after the wedding but I'm not sure.

deb - I think there was a scene where Stefi had the crown, held it over her head, and looked like she might try it on but she didn't. So Stefi walked away with the red diamond and the crown.

doris - ah yes, I saw that later she had it, also when she called the Victor hole, she said it was a fake, as Jean pointed out in her recap (which was a marvelous job of catching all of the little details)

Thanks Jean for the awesome recap, with so many things happening they help keep everything in order.

I never would of thought Stefi would be the one to get Victor out. Doubt he would be so generous with her.

Deb, I think it's a secret intelligence hospital. If it was a regular hospital we would have probably seen scenes from the only hospital waiting room in the city and Lazaro would have been her nurse.

One thing I find weird was how fast Javier became paranoid. Why???

And thank you NovelaMaven for tues recap, "he is invisible because he is wearing a black cap and shades" had me laughing!

jlk

"One thing I find weird was how fast Javier became paranoid. Why???"

jlk - probably because the shower scene sealed the deal with his heart. He is hopelessly in love with Reina and wants to protect her, and he probably does not know who to trust.

First, bwahahah on all the comments! This is for sure, as Jean said, a good bad show along the lines of Zorro. Completely ridiculous, but still must-see tv! (As opposed to crap bad, see Corazon Indomable for reference).

But in the writers defense, I don't think Greta is such a cliche. She was the nastiest person around even before the accident.

What is with Juanjo's name? Is that short for Juan Jorge? It's terrible. (But not the actor. He's great.)

And can we find out what brand that lipstick was? If it sticks that well on a steamed up mirror, then it would definitely last all day on lips.

Kelly

Tks Doris, I get that he wants to protect her, but why think Smith and Rocky are out to get her? I seriously thought he lost his mind when he punched Rocky and grabbed reina while STILL on the operation table. But it did make me laugh and had me saying omg a couple of times, hahaha.

Kelly, I think it's short for Juan Jose, and yeah love the actor too. He's so different from his MARIDO character. The elevator scene where he couldn't get away from Susanna was too funny!

jlk

Juanjo is quickly becoming a favorite of mine!

Omg! Juanjo was in El Talisman! Now I like him even MORE!

The actor who is Juanjo was in Bella Calamidades and I liked him in that telenovela.

Reina De Corazones - Thurs Cap #14 Part 1

At scene of the crime

Navier has a gun pointed at Estefania. Go ahead and kill me if you want. I’m a murderer! she tells him. She has a thirst for revenge on the man who took her daughter from her. She dug up her dead daughter’s grave and found a doll inside (not rocks this time, thank goodness!) Yes, she may be a desalmada (heartless) but hey it is all Victor’s fault. Navier (who has put the gun down) says he understands how she feels. She admits Victor’s death won’t ease the pain of having lost all these years alongside her daughter. She doesn’t want to lose Navier because of Victor. Navier is about to open up the doors to the hole but Estefania stops him. She doesn’t want to lose him because of a man who may be alive or dead at the bottom of the hole.

Estefania used to come to the Thompsan Masion a lot back when she was still the girlfriend of the tycoon Artemio Hidalgo. One day, she fell into the hole while playing with the dogs. [Flashback of Estefania falling into the hole] She called for help but no one heard her. She was rescued thanks to the dogs who barked and barked until she was found. She knew doors had been put at the top of the hole and that it had been covered with grass. When she found out about the party the previous night and that Victor would attend she figured it would be the perfect time for a little vegeance. The plan seemed perfect well that is if the perfect plan exists. She asks what he’s doing there. He came because Isidrio hired him to find Victor. She finds it ironic that he has been hired to find the man who destroyed his life. He asks her what she’s doing there. She came back because a murderer always returns to the scene of the crime! bwahhahaha

Estefania came back because Greta missed her dad. But Victor is a lousy everything. They could let him rot in hell if Navier wants. Navier wants to witness Victor living in hell. Estefania says maybe it is too late and Victor is dead already. Did he see you? he asks her. Victor saw her at the party but didn’t see her putting him inside the hole. Victor talked to some woman at the party. Can she describe the woman? No. Why do you want me to describe her? she asks him. Well, because she could have seen you, he tells her. She loves how she takes care of her. He tells her to leave. They will make it seem like she was never there. It will be there little secret. Why do you protect me? she asks him. He cares for her. She loves him. She kisses him and leaves. Navier opens the doors to the hole. Victor lays unconscious face down at the bottom.

Navier has called the firefighters. Smith shows up and tells Navier he can leave. She’ll take care of things. He must await instructions. What about Reina? he asks. Reina is out of his life. He says things can’t end there. He must await instructions. He seems to forget that she’s the one who gives instructions. He leaves. Firefighters take Victor out of the hole.

De Rosas Mansion

Poor innocent Clara has pratically been left at the mercy of OBD (Odious Bitch Delfina). Thank goodness Asuncion is there. ODB advises Clara to pray that at least one of her parents return to take care of her because if they don’t well then it is bye bye mansion and hello orphange! Bitch. She leaves. Asuncion comforts Clara and tells her not to listen to the odious bitch.

Reina De Corazones - Thurs Cap #14 Part 2

At the hospital

The odious putz enters Greta’s room. Greta is either sound asleep or she’s been sedated again. Anyhoo, the putz recieves a call. The putz needs more time to round up the cash. Lazaro overhears. Does the putz have financial problems? It is none of Lazaro’s beeswax. The putz calls Lazaro a pobre infeliz (poor thing) and says he’ll have him fired.

Susanan and Christian enter the room. The putz is all sweet and nice. He says he can’t believe Greta is not his wife yet. Bastard. He leaves. Lazaro says Greta is stable and leaves too. Susana finds it strange that Victor has not called or come to the hospital. She tells Christian she shouldn’t have confessed her secret to him. After all he’s a such a goodie goddie, right? Wrong! Turns out he’s just as slimy and bad as the rest of them. He knows all about unrequited love.

Cue Flashback

Christian slimes his way into Reina’s room late at night. He creepily strokes her hair and Reina awakens frightened. What is he doing there? He has come to let her know he’s madly in love with her. He loves her voice. How she looks at him. He sniffs her hair. Reina is creeped out (as we are too). He leans in for the kiss. Reina stops him and slaps him silly.

End Flashback

According to Christian unrequited love can lead to you wanting to see the person who doesn’t love you back dead. Susana is shocked. Shocked. He’s not sure what his feelings for that woman were. Was it love? Was it an obession? Aha it was a curse! Who was that woman? A forbidden woman because she was married to his BFF - the woman is Reina Ortiz.

Hospital Waiting Room

The putz and Lazaro have a confrontation. What does Lazaro want to keep quiet about what he heard? Well, it can’t be money since the putz will be marrying for money. Why does Lazaro care so much? Because Greta is his patient (yeah sure that’s the only reason!). The putz thinks Lazaro may be wanting to take advantage of Greta’s condition. After all this would be the dream come true for a nursey nurse nurse like him. Lazaro has had it. He punches the putz out. Head nurse catches him and fires him. Oh I’m fired? Well then bam Lazaro knees the putz in the stomach.

Greta’s Hospital Room

Susana tells Greta that her dear old dad will show up. She leaves.

Lazaro comes into the room and tells her she’s no longer her nurse. He tells her to open her eyes and to have faith in her recovery and not in her boyfriend.

Carmen’s Hovel (aka Reina’s old home)

OBD enters. She looks for something or someone. Reina maybe?

Andres stops by looking for Reina.

Later on….
OBD asks Andres to leave since Reina is a no show. Andres finds it strange Reina would live in such a place. OBD asks him how long he’s known Reina. Oh he’s known her for a while. OBD realizes Andres doesn’t like giving details. OBD is right.

Reina De Corazones - Thurs Cap #14 Part 3

Seamstress Place

Balboa leads a blindfolded Reina to a place where she can be a seamstress. Blindfold comes off. This place is part of the plan to capture Reina’s assasin. A trap will be set and Reina will be the bait. If she accepts of course. Reina accepts. Balboa warns her about the risks. Reina knows about the risks. She wants the nightmare to be over and doesn’t care if it costs her her own life.

Balboa tells Reina she can’t trust no one. What about Navier? Can she trust him? They will have him investigated, no? Yeah yeah but Navier must know anything because it is too risky for him. Reina is overwhlemed. When did all this happen? She used to be a normal person with a normal life. Now someone wants her dead. Who is behind this? Are they drug traffickers? Is it because of Nicolas Nunez? Nope. Diamond and arms traffickers are after her. Oh and terrorists too! Reina can’t believe this.

So what’s the plan? Wel, Reina is to design dresses for her new collection. She will throw a fashion show in ten days. It will be the return of the Queen of Hearts.

HQ

Navier hacks into Smith’s computer and locates Reina. (Really Smith? Dragon is your password. Wow!)

Seamstress Place

Navier enters the building and beats up the guard. He handcufffs him. It is nothing personal of course.

Reina is hard at work desiging her new collection.

Navier shows up. She’s surprised to see him. He came to take her someplace where she can be safe from everyone but him. Awww. They hear a nosie and Navier hides. Balboa tells Reina he thought he heard something. Oh it was just Reina talking to herself. She talks to herself when she designs. He notices she’s nervous. Well wouldn’t he be nervous if someoene wanted to kill him? He tells her she can call him if she needs anything and leaves. Navier comes out of hiding. She tells him she was told not to trust anyone. Will she believe them or him? All they are interested in is capturing her assasin while he’s interested in her. He kisses her. He asks if she’s coming or staying. She’d go to the end of the world with him.

Reina hesitates leaving. She’d go with him to the end of the world but what are they going to do. Continue fleeing from an unkown assasin? She has a daughter who she adores. She can’t abandon her. She’d never forgive herself if anything happened to her daughter. Perhaps the plan isn’t so bad. She lets him know what the plan is all about. Navier promises she’ll reunite with her daughter by not putting her (Reina) at risk. He doesn’t want her to play their game. What game? They are cops. What can you do that they can’t? He takes out an explosive.

Navier sets off an explosion which lures the guards inside. The lovebirds flee.

Estefania and Lopez in the car

Estefania wanted to tell Navier about her double life. But it’s best Navier not know about it. Does she think it is dangerous for Navier to know she was capable of killing Victor? Not at all because Navier wants the same.

We find out the injection Victor gave the fake Queen of Diamonds is some powerful lethal virus.

She says they tried to kill Javier and she’ll kill herself if she loses him (I was so confused by this line)

Reina De Corazones - Thurs Cap #14 Part 4

Hospital - Victor’s Room

Hierba mala nuca muera (a bad weed never dies).

Victor is alive. He tells Isidro what happened. He’s sure who they met was not the queen of diamonds. The fake Queen of Diamonds didn’t realize he was giving her a fake crown (aha so that’s how he knew she was a fake. the real queen would have know the crown was a fake). What they wanted was to kill him. Isidro concludes that the Queen of Diamonds is more dangerous than they thought. Victor tells Isidro about the cellphone - he couldn’t make calls but was able to receive them. The Queen of Diamonds welcomed him to hell. Victor wants to find out more than ever who the Queen of Diamonds is. Estefania comes into the room.

Estefania wants Victor to get better ASAP and be with Greta. Victor wants Isidro to go to Reina’s house. The PI will come and see Victor. Isidro leaves. Victor asks Estefania who invited her to the party. She says a friend. She attended the party because the Thompsan mansion brings back good memories of her time with Artemio. The Thompsans weren’t the host. They don’t even live in town anymore. Their mansion is used to host parties. Victor isn’t sure who invited him but whoever did will regret it for the rest of their life.

Estefania has left the room. Susana is there now. Victor isn’t being a good pateint. He wants to leave. He wants to see Greta. Susana says he can’t leave until he gets his results. He hates hospitals. Well someone hates him for doing what they did to him says Susana. Susana leaves. Victor jokes around and introduces Nurse Kelly to his charming ex-wife. PI comes in. Kelly leaves. PI gives Victor the info he has on Reina. Victor lets PI know he hates betrayal.

Later on...
Christian comes to see Victor. OBD comes into the room. She’s been working on the new collection (or ordering the workers around and making them do all the work) and didn’t know he was hospitalized. Christian asks where Reina is. She don’t exist, says OBD. OBD metions Andres visiting Reina. Could he be her lover? Does Victor know Andres? Yes, Victor knows Andres. But Reina isn’t with him. He believes Reina left town thanks to the info the PI gave him.

Hospital - Greta’s Room

The putz is wearing sunglasses to hide his shiner. He gives Greta the 411 on her dear old dad. Greta thinks he looks riduclous with the sunglasses. (I think he looks ridiculous with or without the sunglasses. Just saying) He takes them off and show her his shiner. He got into fight with her nurse. Why? Because the nusrse is a perv who took advantage of her being sedated and touched her whole body.

The Light - Rehab Center

Miriam yells at Lazaro. She wants out of rehab. She may get what she wants because Lazaro lost his job. She calls him a loser. He’s doing all he is doing for her despite knowing she has a lover. She admits she has a lover. He’s the owner of the casino and he’ll squash Lazaro like a cockaroach when he finds out what Lazaro did. (Poor delusional Miriam. Me thinks Andres could care less if she’s in rehab)

Reina De Corazones - Thurs Cap #14 Part 5

Love Shack

Navier has taken Reina to a place where there are no phones. It will be hard for them to be found. Navier recalls Estefania’s lies about Reina. Meeting Navier has been the only miracle in this whole nightmare for Reina. She tells him he’s sweet, nice, and incredibly protective. He tells her he’s not so sweet and nice and protective. And he’s far from being a miracle. He’s a man full of hate and resentment looking for revenge. Reina asks if what he feels for the woman who harmed him is stronger than what he feels for her. Until yesterday he thought it was but not today. Today she wins. They kiss.

Navier’s shirt comes off (drink) and Reina’s dress comes off. They kiss some more. He notices her cross. She adores her cross and always wears it. She doesn’t know why. She adores it as much as she adores his Dragon tattoo. She thinks its sexy. They kiss some more. They make love. I won’t go into details but lets just say they do things and we see things that would have been censored by Univision.

HQ

Navier has deactived his chip. He hacked into Smith’s computer and was able to get ahold of Balboa’s chip. He’s the first agent able to do this.

Navier will have to pay for his mistake.

Oh snap! PI works for Smith. Victor bought the info he gave him. Victor doesn’t suspect Reina is unfaithful to him. Victor believes Reina left town and is alone. PI and Smith will be in contact. He asks if something is wrong. Boliviar, she tells him.

Love Shack

Our two lovebirds have made love. Now Reina lays on Navier’s bare chest and he has his arms wrapped around her. Reina thinks it would have been beautiful had her life began when she met him. It would be beautiful if she had no past. She falls asleep.

Navier picks up his phone. Puts in the chip and removes the other one. He makes a phone call. It’s me, I have an offer, he tells the person at the other end.

Thanks for the great, recap, Mauricio. So the list of people who want to see Reina dead just gets longer every day. Christian, the supposedly good cop joins the list.

Either Navier was lying when he told Reina that there was no phone service at the love shack or he has a satellite phone or something.

I was confused by the chip discussion. I think that they were talking about two different kind of electronic gizmos. Way back when, we saw Navier being injected with a chip that presumably allows the CIA to know where he is at all times. I think that he deactivated that chip on Smith's computer so that he couldn't be traced to the Love Shack. When he called Smith from said Love Shack, it looked like he changed changed the Sim card in the phone presumably also so it couldn't be located.

I agree on Smith's totally lame password!!

I predict that Greta will be discharged from the hospital and Lázaro will end up being her private nurse!

Muchas gracias, Mauricio, for the wonderfully detailed recap. Like you, I was surprised that Smith's password was "dragon." Huh??? The already murky plot thickens.

I'm really enjoying this telenovela, but I often feel as if I'm watching a cartoon. There's so little attempt at reality. Normally, I'd bail out quickly on such a novela, and what I'm trying to figure out is why I feel differently about this one. The acting (esp. Paula Nuñez and Juan Soler)? Eugenio Siller without a shirt? I dunno. Perhaps it's also that it's never boring.

Thanks Mauricio! Yes, the list of those who want Reina dead just increases each day. I knew there had to be something wrong with Cristian. We already knew that he's a terrible cop. Now we know he's an obsessive stalker too. No wonder he's been focusing so much on Reina that he misses the glaring signs that his BFF Victor is an international criminal.

This is a silly tn, but they are throwing enough curve balls at us that there's no chance to think too much about it-- the ride is fun though.

I can't believe Victor isn't even investigating the possibility that Stefi is the Queen of Diamonds. Let's see...she's rich, she hates him, and she happens to always be in the right place at the right time, or the wrong place at the wrong time.

Anyone else notice the flash of Reina's black Spanx when she and Navier ran out of the building, then they were gone and replaced by pretty, delicate underwear once they were in the love shack. :)

Mauricio - thank you for the recap.

LOL moment when Victor was lifted out of the hole with a harness. What if his neck or back were broken? More LOL when the mandatory telenovela neck brace was put on him AFTER they drag him out of the hole like a rag doll.

I caught that scene when Cristian sniffed her hair. BwaHahahahaaaaa.

That's one fast-acting virus in the Injecto-Death 3000 of Victors.

So, Reina now has a Project Runway deadline. ~rolls eyes~

So if that crown was fake, shouldn't Stefy have noticed? Or was she wearing her telenovela beanie hat?

Who the heck owns that Love Shack?.. That's one nice house.

Vivi - I missed the Spanx. Lol

You're Welcome Everyone!

I just realized I made a typo.

The sentence "Yeah yeah but Navier must know anything because it is too risky for him" should actually say "Yeah yeah but Navier must NOT know anything because it is too risky for him."

doris - Stefy did realize the crown was fake. She calls Victor (while he still in the hole) and tells him that "betrayal is paid for in blood".

Many thanks Mauricio! I had trouble paying attention to my shoes last night and your detailed recap has saved me. This is one show that you have to note EVERYTHING. I missed so many lines while my mind wandered.

This show is so surreal that I've started to think it's someone's dream!

Trouble paying attention to my shows.

wow, another wonderful recap Mauricio!
thanks so much,
I'm really dependent on these summaries to sort out all that is going on.

curious that Navier was whisked away from the well hole, without Victor seeing that he saved his life.

I think they are hinting at Delfina being the one that shot Reina, and as no one has said anything, she "returns to the scene of the crime", to see what happened.

I'm kind of liking Greta, the talking head, too bad the putz is planting bad seeds in her, but now she has to find a way to get Lazaro back, so she can bug him some more, and I think the wedding is off without him around.

so is Christian really a cop, we never see him with other policemen, and this guy is just too strange.

I wonder if Stefi's lips glow in the dark.

deb - ITA about the inferences that OBD shot Reina in the shower. Too many to ignore unless they are red herrings.
She wants Victor and his money all for herself.

It seemed like Victor too easily accepted the PI's report that Reina went on a random trip (to where?) by herself.

Thanks, Mauricio. Great work on the recap!

And thanks to you, Jean, for clearing up the "chip". I had forgotten they implanted something in his actual flesh. [Do they really do that to CIA guys? I guess if they can do dogs now, why not?]

Wow, the putz exceeded himself by accusing Lázaro of groping a sedated Greta. She sort of gave him the stinkeye, so she may not believe it. At least we are now sure why he's so eager to marry her. I thought Victor had dug him up as a means of keeping Greta out of the circus. But it looks like he sought her out himself, knowing about all the money. Of course, I realize this is expecting logic, but what's his plan? We overheard his end of the conversation with random thug asking for money to be repaid. So he gets married and 10 minutes later asks for $50,000? If he only knew the real nature of his papa-in-law to be!

I thought Navier used Smeeth's computer to locate Reina...that blinking red dot on the computer screen.
How else did he find her, unless he used his super-hero skilz?

I remember the chip implantation scene. Are we sure he deactivated it? Does he even know he has one in his body?

I'm still sort of ruminating on Le Putz and his age. (Or maybe it's all been cleared up and I missed it?)

Yes, it does seem like he would be too old. Let's say older sis (Camila was her name?) was 18-20 when said tape was made and sent to her. Greta was 12 at the time. That makes her 6-8 years younger. If Le Putz is the same age as Camila then yes, he's older but 6-8 years doesn't seem so big a difference in your 20s (Greta is now 20...right?)

Also, lets make the argument that Le Putz was one of the party-goer's YOUNGER sibling. Maybe 15-17. He makes the tape and sends it as a joke OR was intending to blackmail Camila, but it backfires. Anyway, then we are only talking a difference of 3-5 years.

Not the biggest thing to ponder in this show, but it seems to be one of the easier to explain things.

And this made me laugh out loud:

"LOL moment when Victor was lifted out of the hole with a harness. What if his neck or back were broken? More LOL when the mandatory telenovela neck brace was put on him AFTER they drag him out of the hole like a rag doll."

hmm, somewhere I got the idea the Putz is being blackmailed because of the video he sent to Camila that resulted in her death, and it would fall in place that someone knows he did this, but I may have gotten this all wrong.

Oh, yes he is being blackmailed...but it's possible his original intention with the tape was to blackmail Camila.

When someone found out about him being the one to make the tape/threat (which led to her suicide) they began to blackmail Le Putz.

Sara - yes, Great is 20. Veinte añoooooos as Stefy keeps saying. ;o)

But reading deb's comment more carefully I guess it could also be the case that he did NOT make the tape and only SENT the tape (which makes the age thing moot since sending the tape doesn't necessarily mean he was there at the party.)

doris- I now affectionately think of you when someone says "veinte años." In fact, wasn't La Corona stolen from the museum veinte años ago?

Greta ... note Great. GAh... one day I will learn to type...

Doris, I don't think it's your typing. The ^%*&&% spell check on this site changes Greta to Great on me once in a while.

Gabriel Coronel is apparently "El Galan del Verano"

http://masquetelenovelas.blogspot.com/2014/07/gabriel-coronel-se-convierte-en-el.html

He's the one who will be playing Nicolas 2.0, right?

Mauricio, what a wonderful recap! Thank you!

Random thoughts...

--Even though Smith and Dragon Boy don't resemble each other -- well, except for coloring -- they are delivering similar monosyllabic dialogue in a flat, affectless style that makes them SEEM alike.

--How long will it take for Navier to learn how his BFF Stefi destroyed his relationship with Reina?

--The actress playing Greta was making her a sympathetic character even before the accident. At this point, she's one of the few people I'm rooting for.

NM---my answers to today's pop test ... lol ...
#1). My money is on Nico being Smith's son, probably stolen from her at birth or later (because this is a telenovela) and baby swap mama died so he landed in the huerfanata. ----OR--- Smith had him out of wedlock and fave him up for adoption because people still did that more often back then in the U.S.
#2). Probably during Ultimas semanas
#3). I agree. She is doing a great job as Great Greta.

Oh my. I just caught the last 2ish minutes. Smeeth is rather attached to the boy methinks.

I will get the recap up in the morning, but feel free to discuss until then.

Wooooo! I knew it. From the second agent Smith saw that necklace that Navier held up to Rocky, I felt that it was her son.

Those were the best last two minutes. Wow!

I didn't realize that Victor's neck injector was a bracelet he wore, these would have sold like crazy in "Santa Diabla" where Juan Soler (Victor) real time wife Maki, was the one-eyed diabla.

I am certain that Navier is Smith's son but she didn't actually say that last night, did she? She talked about him being the living image of her sin, etc.

Victor is a lot badder than Stefi. Stefi hasn't killed anyone yet, has she? She lied to Navier and Reina, of course. Victor, on the other hand, is already up to 4 victims of his bracelet of death.

That's true, Jean. If she considers abandoning a child a sin then Navier could still be the image of her sin without actually being her son.

OK. About to get started on the recap. Victor is the bomb! (*snort*)

No seriously, Juan Soler is great in this role.

Viernes Parte 1
Navier calls Smeeth. He'll make a deal with her. They'll do the desfile and they can catch the killer, but he doesn't want Reina to be put in any danger. Smeeth reminds him she's the one who gives the orders. Well then, says Navier, no deal. He hangs up before they have a chance to trace the call.

Estefania visits Greta (who was not so Great in this episode.) Estefania believes in miracles. Greta rudely tells her she doesn't and tells Estefania she can go visit orphans on cripples somewhere else. Victor overhears and tells Greta to apologize. Estefania is important to him. She is the mother of his child. Susana comes in in time to hear that.

Lazaro goes to Andres at his Casino to tell him about Miriam's rehab and to ask him to visit her. Lazaro has to remind him who Miriam is and that she's Andres' lover. Andres lets Lazaro know that ALL the ladies that work for the Casino are his lovers, so no....Andres doesn't give a flip flop about Miriam.

Navier talks to Smeeth again. Smeeth demands he bring Reina in. She is fundamental to the plan. Navier is not going to bring Reina in without guarantees of her safety. No deal. He goes back to snuggle a sleeping Reina.

Victor explains that he and Estefania were teenage love-birds and Estfania got pregnant. The child was never born and they lost touch. They recently ran into each other and when Estefania heard about Greta's accident, she felt bad and wanted to visit. Greta is rude to Estefania who leaves in tears promising not to bother her any more. Greta comments on the weird lady whose life must be pretty pathetic if she visits quadriplegic strangers. Greta asks Victor (and she calls him by his first name) if he plans to replace Reina with Estefania.

Connie and Isidro make out. She thinks he's cheating. His jefe is the one taking up all his time and he would be with her every moment if it weren't for his boss. He asks Connie about the house next door. Is it for rent? Connie tells him no and then explains it belongs to Reina. Izzy gets her talking and she tells him about Reina coming to ask if she knew anything about the guy Reina was going to marry. A call from Victor interrupts the conversation.

Estefania sends a text to Navier. She misses him. She is chloroformed and kidnapped outside the hospital.

Cristian arrives on a crime scene. He's not on the case, but he can help. He thinks the crime is connected to the attempts on Reina Ortiz's life. A man has been stabbed. There's a Queen of Hearts card and a banner which reads: Betrayal is paid in blood.

Navier treats Reina's wound with one latex glove. Reina asks about the woman he loved. Reina is a little jealous of her and asks what she was like. Reina wonders if she is like the woman at all. Navier tells her not to be jealous. They canoodle. Reina dreamed about her daughter. Navier has a plan for them to be together. Reina asks about what to tell the father. Navier thinks a mother is more important to a child. He should know. He hears a sound. Either it's the police outside or the killer.

Juanjo tells Lazaro about Susana's being an killer. She could send someone to kill Lazaro! Lazaro is leery and leaves. Susana arrives and tries to apologize and give him his reward. He's not for sale.

Lazaro says good-bye to Greta. She accuses him of being fondling pervert. He tells her that's not his style. He wants to see the woman's eyes when he caresses them. He likes to see their desire and a girl like her would never desire a poor guy like him. Or would she? His eyes do not smolder like I think the close up is supposed to imply. Maybe it looks better in HD.

" His eyes do not smolder like I think the close up is supposed to imply. Maybe it looks better in HD."

BwaHahahahaaaaa ROFLOL! This makes me really look forward to watching my recording. :-)

Ha - very low smoulder indeed in Lázaro's eyes. I wondered why they had this long close up of his eyes. Smoulder never entered my head!

Viernes Part 2

Carmen berates Delfina for not getting rid of Reina. She even gave her a gun and Delfina didn't do anything. Delfina has no guts. Delfina tells Carmen to do it herself then. Carmen tells her that even though they look like sisters, Carmen is her mother and Delfina needs to show some respect. Carmen will show her what she can do!

Estefania wakes up in the pit. The phone rings. "Welcome to your tomb, Reina de Diamantes!" says a disguised voice.

Navier is on lookout. Reina envisions him being shot. It scares her so badly that she kisses Navier and tells him to remember she loves him. Then she runs outside before Navier can stop her. A swat team surrounds them. Smeeth demands Navier's gun.

Estefania knows exactly who has thrown her in the pit. She demands Victor to let her out. He's a little disappointed she's not begging to be released. She's not going to waster her energy on that. He's not going to let her go if she begs, but he will let her go because she has the red diamond! Ah, now they've made some progress. She's a queen without a crown, but Victor has the crown she wants!

Lopez was the squealer. Victor used Lopez's wife for leverage. Lopez and his wife fall victim to the Injecto-Death 3000.

Smeeth arrests Navier for his unauthorized actions. It's kidnapping. Reina protests. It was all her idea! She made him do it! Navier is taken away in handcuffs. He tells her they will see each other again sooner rather than later.

Greta gets back some of her Great and admits to Lazaro she was one of those spoiled rich kids who looked down on people. Now look at her! Lazaro says she's still got her spirit. There's still hope! Fight, girl!! He tells her to take care of herself and her boyfriend (who knew-- the Putz had a name: Damian.) Greta remembers Lazaro's name.

Susana is a little confused by Juanjo. Aren't we all? She reaches for her wallet and Juanjo gets nervous, Lazaro is ready to go and so is Juanjo. They scoot. Cristian calls Susana to tell her the guy she hired to kill Reina is now dead. Did I miss the part where Cristian found out who Susana hired??

Smeeth reams out Navier for his actions. She doesn't like his style. He never forgot his mission or his revenge, but he wants Reina alive. Smeeth gives the orders. Navier asks her not to lock him up. Luckily Smeeth was able to reactivate his cheep. He's a good student, perhaps the best but SHE is the TEACHER.

Estefania pants, strips from the heat and writhes and threatens. Victor is going to let her suffer just a little more. Izzy is impressed. How did Victor know she was the real QoDs? Victor had called the Thompsons and told him about falling into the pit. They remembered Estefania doing the same. Seriously, Thompsons. Maybe you should do something about that pit. You could get sued! Mr. Thompson lives in Paris. This might become important.

The Putz pushes his marriage agenda. Greta asks about Lazaro and the lie the Putz told about him. Great Greta has figured out that Lazaro must have heard or seen something the Putz wanted to keep secret because Great Greta knows Putz has got a gambling problem.

Navier is thrown in his cell. He shouts at the camera and knows Smeeth is watching and listening. Lots of scene chewing about he can't be a heartless robot. He has a heart!!! *chestthump*

Viernes Part 3
Rocky has brought Reina back to the clandestine workshop. Reina is still mad about Navier being arrested. Rocky tells her to just work on the collection. She can't! How can she concentrate when her daughter doesn't know where she is and Navier is arrested. (How tall is the Rocky actor? He towers over Paola and she strikes me as being tall.)

Connie leaves a rambling message for Izzy. Juanjo and Lazaro arrive and they are still arguing about Juanjo's accusation about Susana. Cute, fast dialogue but now real plot development except Lazaro informing them he's out of work again. I predict he will become the personal therapist/nurse hired by Victor. Who's with me?

Susana at Cristian's office. She says it wasn't her! Her wanting to kill Reina was a long time ago. Cristian thinks it's suspicious that the dead man worked security for the Camil company where Susana also worked. She reminds him she doesn't work there anymore and there are lots of employees. She doesn't know them all. Cristian is still not convinced. Dead guy worked for powerful drug dealers. Dead guy was capable of killing a man in front of his 4 year old daughter (Could that be Estefania? If so, there are all kinds of time-line issues. Beanie adjustment in 3...2..1) Susana swears it wasn't her, but could it be that Cristian is trying to thrown the blame on her to take the heat off of HIM?

Victor lets Estefania out of the pit.

Navier yells and wants to be let out. He overpowers a few policeman, but is finally subdued and injected with something. He takes advantage of her redressing herself to strap a BOMB on her. It will explode within two hours if she doesn't bring him the Red Diamond. She thinks it's one of his jokes. Nope. It's not. It's her choice. She brings him the diamond and she's free to live her life. Granted, a life without the diamond, but alive. If not, she'll get blown to kingdom come and sadly Victor will lose one of his men that will accompany her. It doesn't matter to him that she's the mother of his child. Estefania tries to attack him. Juan Soler is just great! "Careful, love! That's a bomb." Perfectly delivered line. Even though her death is imminent, Victor thinks she looks lovely. She says in two hours she's capable of comerme el mundo (do anything.) Victor says she better start now because in two hours there will be no world for her. He'll be in her hotel room "killing" time. Does he know she hates him. Oh, yes. He knows. And he hates her, too. I LOVED THIS SCENE!!

Smeeth visits a very sedated Navier. Navier wonders if she came to watch him die. He's dangerous if he's alive. Not if he's dead. Smeeth asks if he regrets his actions and of course he doesn't. He still has time to recognize his mistakes and live. He'd rather die. There's no one who cares about him anyway. No one will miss him.

Clarita skypes with Reina. She's working hard. They will see each other soon. Tears.

Lazaro tells Roman he'll look for another job. So, how do you all interpret Roman's line: All that matter to him is that he and dad aren't separated and that HIS MOM ISN'T HERE. So does the kid want her gone or does it bother him that she is? Delfina interrupts the family pow wow to ask Connie to help her finish the new line of Reina de Corazones. Delfina is taking over to get it finished. She informs Lazaro and Connie that Reina disappeared se esfumó.

Viernes Parte 4
The Putz wants to conquer his addiction. Great Greta tells him she knows a lot about him. Cara de deer in the headlights. Susana interrupts his terror and asks him to leave. Susana tells Great that now matter what, she wants her daughter to know she's not a killer.

Reina thinks she should have talked to Victor. Rocky assures her that Victor knows she left the city because Victor hired a PI. Reina realizes Victor knows she was unfaithful. Rocky says nothing about the PI being on the CIA's payroll.

Smeeth again comes to see Navier. She turns off the cameras. He had asked her not to have pity and to kill him. But she can't do that. She can't let him out of her life. He believes she has no heart. But he's mistaken. She loves him, even though he'll never know. And my recording cuts off. Thank goodness I saw the bit last night about him being the image of her sin.

Great recap, Sara, but I beat you on predicting that Lázaro will end up as Greta's therapist :-)

I predict that Greta will be discharged from the hospital and Lázaro will end up being her private nurse!

Fri Jul 25, 12:18:00 PM EDT

Oh Jean! Please accept my apologies! It's hard for me to keep up with all the comments on two shows each week. You planted the seed and my subconscious noted it!

Sara- no apologies needed!! There are a lot of comments. It was more like, "Two great minds with but a single thought"

Sara,

You have outdone yourself! I love the whole thing, but especially the little throw-aways like this:

"Susana is a little confused by Juanjo. Aren't we all?"

And of course, this line that Doris and Jean have already admired:

"His eyes do not smolder like I think the close up is supposed to imply. Maybe it looks better in HD."

And yes, wasn't that a great comic scene by the writers and actors when Juanjo is dying to tell what he knows about Susana, Connie is stuck on Channel Isidro, Lázaro is trying to say he is unemployed, and little Roman is just trying to make sense of what the grown-ups are talking about?

And then, to make what seems a perfect scene even better, comes this transition:

Laz tells Roman not to worry, this is just a "mal trago" (a bad patch, a difficult time, un trago amargo, a bitter pill to swallow).
What's a "mal trago"?, asks Roman innocently.

Then suddenly, speaking of "un mal trago," Odious Bitch Delfina is at the door.

The TRANSITIONS are so clever in this show!

Juan Soler is the BEST! He is just fabulous as a villain.

As an aside:

I've been watching the new comedy over on Uni because like so many others, I am a great fan of Silvia Navarro and I also like Jorge Salinas. Although Silvia has some lovely scenes, after last night I have sworn that show off for good. Reina de Corazones is where the real comedy is to be found (or at least, the stuff that tickles my funny bone).

Thanks again, Sara! And thanks also to Caroline, Jean, and Mauricio for your outstanding recaps this week and to everyone who has commented. It's great to see this kind of enthusiasm for a "regular" Telemundo show, i.e. not a narconovela.

Let's look at what Smith said to the unconscious Navier at the end of last night's capitulo:

Me pediste de no te tuviera piedad. Me gritaste que te matara. No te puedo matar. Aguanto tu soberbia, tu prepotencia, tu rebeldia. No te puedo alejar porque yo te quiero aunque tú no lo sepas. Aunque seas mi viva imagen. La imagen de mi pecado. Aunque ese pecado me cuesta la vida misma.

You asked me not to take pity on you. You yelled at me to kill you. I endure your pride, your arrogance, your rebelliousness. I can't distance myself from you because I love you even though you don't know it. Even though you are my living image. The image of my sin. Even though this sin costs me my own life.

Discuss.

QTH? Reina had on completely different clothes the next morning, when the CIA agents show up. Did I miss her overnight bag when she fled the faux bridal workshop? Beanie hat time 3... 2... 1

Sara – Thank you for the recap and the perfect amount of snark;it was juuuuust riiiiight. You had me roflol with your Thompson’s pit commentary. :-) and that Paris thing went right over my head. I loved that bomb-belt scene between Victor & Stefy, too. Great dialogue.

Now is definitely the time to buy stock in a chloroform company. Really.

Uy! Que horror! Carmen’s hair and Flintstones dress.... tan anti-fashion!

I loved that scene with Connie, Juanjo and Lazaro; such great editing for the comedic timing.

Speaking of Juanjo, what’s up with his shirt? Is he wearing it inside-out? Is it reversible? The design on the fabric is darker on the reverse side. (I notice these things sometimes …. gah)

Sara – We were not shown how Christian knows the stabbed-dead guy was Susana’s hired hit guy. The vic didn’t look very old although the camera shot of him was brief; so not sure he could have been the killer of Stefy’s parents? Beanie hat time.

Hhhmmmm..... Who killed Susana's hit man? The plot thickens.

Smeeth: Your GPS chip I re-activated. Your teacher I am.(”Luke ...(heavy breathing)... I am your father”)
Navier: Just kill me. Now.

Injecto-Death 3000 body count is up to, what, four, right?
Who’s going to be Stefy’s right-hand thug now? Good thugs are hard to find, anymore.

NovelaMaven - " Connie is stuck on Channel Isidro"
LOL!!! Connie was sounding like a fishwife on the phone. Way to keep a man, Con.

The tongue-in-cheek comedy, parody and pace of this show are great right now. I knew we were in for a fun ride with the first episode, when Navier went to find his Batmobile ... er ... assigned company car, he's looking for a vehicle with four wheels, and it's a ... motorcycle. I wonder if the writers can keep it up for how-many?-episodes.

I haven't had this much fun watching a telenovela, in ages.

Jean - that was quite a final scene and soliloquy by Smeeth. The writers are messin' with our heads.

Have we started a betting pool yet, here on the patio?

Oh yeah, the Paris connection. Great call, Sara! Like Doris, I missed it completely. I predict BERETS in our future.

And the crack about the Thompsons and their pit liability - snort! (Though you have to give them credit -- they did put in stout metal doors. It's only an attractive nuisance for motivated crazies.)

Thanks for Smeeth's words to Navier, Jean. (aunque me cueste, although it MAY cost me, right?).

If we combine that little speech with her reaction to The Cross and her attitude to Navier all along, how can she NOT be Navier's mami? The more interesting question: Who is Navier's papi?

Magical items in play:
The Red Diamond(s)
The Crown
The Cross
The Bracelet of Death (may not really belong in this list)

The Paris connection may not be anything. I just found it interesting.

Doris- Reina did comment that Navier had thought of everything including a change of clothing. I was so distracted by his one gloved hand. His bare hand was all over the wound site, too.

Thanks for the full transcript Jean. When I saw it last night I wanted to include the whole thing but as I said my recording ended too soon. I'm betting on Victor being the father. Smeeth is a little too eager to get him.

Sara- I am behind on all the the from yesterday, but decided to read your fab recap first. Sounds like a good episode.

There has already been a hint about a past possible romantic connection between Victor and Smith, when she cryptically made the comparison to how Navier is losing control over his emotions for Reina. It would not be a shocker if Victor turned out to be his daddy. But, then again, Navier was in a sexual relationship with Victor's daughter, so maybe scratch that.

The tns from yesterday.

Sara -Thnx... I didn't have CCs on and missed that about the extra clothing.

NovelaMaven-

aunque me cueste, yes, the subjunctive there like the others, bad spelling on my part. I don't think the "may" is necessary to express the hypothetical nature of the action but it doesn't hurt.

I don't have the slightest doubt that Smith is Navier's mother. I knew that when she saw the cross. BUT, she hasn't admitted it yet. What she told Navier was ambiguous. Maybe she'll come right out and say it on Monday's episode. Now that we've got the mother - who is the father? I don't think it could be Victor. I'm guessing there is some whole other story about Smith and some guy - another agent? Supposed to be dead but isn't?

I can't wait until Monday. I haven't eagerly looked forward to the next episode of a novela for a long time.

Oh yeah. I forgot about Navier and Victor's daughter (how, I have no idea. Their relationship is the reason for most of our plot.)

Hmmmm. Smeeth has said she's after Victor's boss. Could it be him?

Jean I am looking forward to Monday as well. I feel like it's been a while since a show has excited me as well.

Would y'all consider this one a mystery? I said on Urban's thread that I have never seen a mystery telenovela, but I'm wondering if I misspoke.

Grammar note: "aunque" is one of those words that may or may not take the subjunctive. I was told once that a little trick to decide whether or not to use the subjunctive was dependent on what you want to say. If you are meaning "even though" you use indicative and if you are wanting to mean "even if" you use subjunctive. It's not perfect but it has helped me on occasion.

Jean, of course you're right -- you don't need the "may" in English.

Sara, oh goddess of the classroom, thank you the tip about when to use the subjunctive after 'aunque.'

"FOR the tip." Drat.

"oh goddess of the classroom"

Piffle. I am not a goddess of anything but pajamas.

PS: it is fun to see so much excitement over a Telemundo NON-NARCO.

I can't wait for Monday either, because guess who's coming to town? Frank Marino!

Oh that's going to be fun!

I just watched the first two capítulos again. (You can see how addicted I am to his novela). I thought it was interesting that Christián Palacios gave Reina away at her wedding to Victor. Maybe it was just because he and Victor are friends. I know he isn't her father.

I would have thought Victor would have wanted to kill Nicolás personally with his Injecto-Death 3000 after beating the crap out of him. Maybe eight years ago Victor hadn't gotten into killing his enemies personally.

There were lots of the little novela things like Connie conveniently going away for all of Reina's pregnancy and why Reina couldn't check public records about Nuñez's supposed death.

But the thing that really didn't make sense, even after putting on my extra-strength beanie, was Navier showing up at Reina's wedding to Victor.

We see Navier go to headquarters and get his new identity from Smith. He immediately goes to the church where the the wedding is taking place. Reina sees him, calls his name, runs out of the Church and is hit by the car. Navier goes back to headquarters. Smith is not surprised or upset that he went to the church and doesn't reprimand him for disobeying her so she sent him there. Navier accuses Smith of causing Reina's hit and run accident. She denies it and says that it was just an accident andthey had gone to a lot of trouble to "kill" Nicolás Nuñes and create his new identity and the target is Victor de Rosas.

It doesn't make sense to go to a lot of trouble to change Nuñes' identity and put him on a case when the wife of the target would recognize him immediately.

I am pretty sure that the real reason for this seeming glaring inconsistency was that the writers wanted to open the novela with the dramatic scene in the church. Reina loses her memory after being hit by the car and the problem goes away.

I'm obsessing, I know, but it is a fun way to spend the weekend. It beats doing chores.

I feel like writing lists. I'll start with commentary list

1. I obsess too! I feel validated knowing I'm not alone.

2. I don't have an addiction. I can quit telenovela-ing whenever I want.

3. I may have to go back and watch some of week one's episodes as well. We may want to make a habit of rewatching things. Who knows what kind of subtleties we're missing.

4. I double checked the aunque trick. Even if=subjunctive and Even though=indicative. Personally, I wish she had said "me cuesta" just because it makes it so much more interesting to think that whatever it is, it's costing Smeeth her life RIGHT NOW. Not some hypothetical thing. Meh. Telemundo doesn't listen to me, though.

Now, a list for my sanity. Please help me out.

We know the following people have want Reina dead
Some currently want her dead. Others have thought about it in the past.
1. Susana
2. Cristian
3. A mystery person or organization.
4. Carmen
5. I'll include Odious Bitch Delfina though I think she's rather half-hearted in her desire to see Reina dead.

I don't trust the following people and I think maybe they want her dead, too.
Ok. There's really only one person.
1. Rocky

Injecto-Death 3000 Victims
1. The Arab Gentleman
2. The fake QoDs
3. Lopez
4. Lopez's wife.

The magical items (Thanks NovelaMaven!)
1. The Diamante Rojo
2. La Corona
3. La Cruz
4. The Injecto-Death 3000 (and Vic really needs to be careful with that thing. It could accidentally go off while he's showering or shtupping someone.)

The Buyers
So....
1. An Arab gentleman sells the Diamante Rojo to Estefania.

2. This is bad for Victor because he needed it to sell to some Narco.

3. I can't remember why, but Estefania agrees to sell the Diamante Rojo to the Narco.

4. That deal goes sour and the Narco is killed.

5. The Narco's brother gets pithed and kidnaps Estefania and Victor.

5a. Neither Dead Narco, Victor nor the Brother realize that Estefania is the QoD.

6. Victor promises to get the red diamond from the QoD and lures her with La Corona.

7. Estefania uses a fake QoD at the Thompson mansion. Vic uses a fake Corona. Fake QoD gets Injecto-Deahed and throws Vic in a Pit.

8. Vic figures out who the QoD is. He has the Crown, but not the cursed diamond.

And here we stand.

Hmm. I sounded rude earlier...
*I* should got back and rewatch things. Who knows what kind of subtleties I'M missing.

Sara- Stefi also wouldn't mind Reina being dead because she want Navier all to herself. Remember, she's the reason Navier thinks Reina betrayed him.

And she has the means to hire a killer.

So that makes 6, 6 people who want Reina dead. Ha ha ha! (Sesame Street Count voice)

ahha, the supervising nurse (Gisella Aboumrad) that keeps firing Lazaro, was a kitchen servant in "Pasión Prohibida".

1. I just want to make it perfectly clear that I can stop watching this show whenever I want.

2. The fact that I have not been able to erase a single episode from my DVR even though they are starting to take up A LOT OF SPACE does not mean anything.

3. Nor does it mean anything that I spent one very late night re-watching the entire first week.

4. List-making is NOT a sign of a PROBLEM.

5. Seriously, it is NOT a PROBLEM.

6. I can stop any time I want to...

1. I don't have a problem either.

2. Listing is a sign of a highly methodical and organized mind.

3. I am not delusional.

4. I am not counting the hours until the next episode.

5. I've got it all under control.

Deb- I guess she decided to enroll in night school! The kitchen life was not for her.

Sara & NovelaMaven - roflol!!!
Lists are the sign of an organized mind. ;-)

My problem is always forgetting what to put on the list.

"I'm going to Big Box store to get hangers. Oh, I guess I'll pick up cotton balls and coffee, too. Wow. I need paper towels. I better write a list."

Shopping List (written approximately an hour later after thinking of a multitude of other things.)
1. Shower curtain
2. Green beans
3. tape
4. creamer

Notice how the original items aren't on the list?

Sooo, yeah "organized mind"

hahahahahahahah

I will go to store with list in hand and actually do not ~see~ one or two items on list. Even when I scratch items off the list as I put them into cart. Argh!

BTW, since we cannot put links in our posts, copy & paste for a cute video of the cast doing a karaoke version of 'Bailando'. It's fun to watch:

http://msnlatino.telemundo.com/novelas/Reina_de_Corazones/video/karaoke-con-los-actores-de-reina-de-corazones-cantando-el-tema-bailando-de-enrique-iglesias-video/90d71448-6542-4f51-9a92-295cf38fe347

Thanks for the link, Doris. That was really cute. Did you notice that at one point Laura Flores sings, "esa novela loca" instead of "una noche loca."

I'm going to have to rewatch it, then. I want to see that!!

I so enjoyed seeing the Connie actress looking so happy and unbridled.

Was that Juanjo with the good dance moves.

Thanks for sharing this, Doris! It put a smile on my face.

Sara - yes, that was Juanjo with the smooth dance moves & guitar. He's such a cutie!

Thanks, Doris! That was fun.

If anyone else has been watching Lo que la vida me robó -- the actress who played Capt. Mónica Rentería is featured in the video, so I looked her up. Her name is Jessica Mas and she will be joining the cast of Reina as a villain.

Now to watch again and pay attention to Laura Flores...

Thanks for the fab recap Sara! And thanks for the great comments ya'll. It's fun to have other people dissect(obsess:p) over the same tn.

Sara, I also love your "what we know" list. I feel like I should print it, put it on my fridge, and add to it as the novela unfolds.

Has Juan Solar ever played a villain before? I've only seen him do good guys, but I'm with ya'll, I so enjoy watching him in this role. Looks like he's having fun.

Can;t wait for tmrw to see more drama unfold!

jlk

jlk-I just copied the list and created a word document. I'm going to try and sort of keep track of things...but I know me well enough to know that I may peter out after the school year starts.

After jlk's comment about Juan Soler having fun and watching the video, it makes me that that's one reason the show is so fun. It looks like the cast gets along, they know it's not high art and they seem to really enjoy working on it. (And thanks again for sharing that video, Doris!)

Honestly, I don't know if I ever want to see Juan Soler in a good guy role. He is so entertaining as Victor. I'm asking right along with jlk, *is* this his first turn at villain? Because he may have been missing his calling all this time.

Wait a minute. I had said that Dead Narco didn't realize that Estefania was the QoDs. I think I screwed up. If he was buying the Diamante Rojo from her and Victor had told him that the QoD was the one who had it, then Dead Narco must have figured it out and the deal gone sour must have been set up by Estefania to keep her identity as QoD secret.

I suspect that was covered by you all last week in the comments and I missed it/forgot it/or it just didn't register.

Pardon my slow train.

jlk, according to this article in People en Español --

http://www.peopleenespanol.com/article/juan-soler-interpreta-su-primer-villano

-- this is Juan Soler's first time as a telenovela villain. And it sounds like he is having a blast!

NovelaMaven-Jessica Mas was also in Cachtio de Cielso. She was a villain. Was she a villain in Lo Que La Vida Me Robo?

I like her. I can't wait to see what part she'll play in Reina de Corazones.

Soler and Siachoque(sp?) looked like they both were having fun in her bomb belt scene. The timing of delivery of the dialogue was excellent, too.

Sara - I had to watch the video again and you are right about Flores singing "..novela loca"!

Wish I could take credit for being so observant, but it was Jean who caught Laura Flores' ad libbed lyrics.

Disculpame Jean!

De nada, Doris. You posted the link!

Sara,

No, Jessica Mas wasn't a villain in Robó. She had a minor but pivotal role as a hard-nosed military officer who falls in love with one of her subordinates and inspires a huge crush in another. Shortly after agreeing to marry her suitor, she is killed in a drug raid.

Doris- I loved the video. How fun! Nice to see Jessica Mas after she got killed off on Robo, and the rest of the cast having fun. But, how can you not to that song? Bailando has been one of my faves on my ipod for a few months now. Enrique sure has a long track record with great songs used for telenovela theme songs. His song for Robo is great too. And I loved his song for Cuando Me Enamoro (where Juan Soler was the galan).

Hola todos, I've caught up with this past week's recaps and comments. Have yet to watch the epi for Thu & Fri. What a wild ride (Sr. Victor's Wild Ride?). Thank you all for providing detailed recaps. The action is so swift, the old brain cells just don't fire quickly enough before there's a humongous scene change.

There may still be time for someone to answer this for me before tonight. I thought I had been paying close attention, but seeing as it has been a marathon weekend watch, this has me scratching my head.

There were two comments about Navier having a sexual relationship with Victor's daughter. I thought Victor only has two daughters that he has acknowledged--Camila and Great Greta (just being careful in case spell check is watching).

Navier, AFAIK, has only had sexual encounters with Estefania (Victor's one-time lover and mother of Greta) and Reina (daughter of Carmen and Reina's father--who remains a mystery, but Reina certainly knew him, so he can't be Victor).

Now, Victor has sowed his seed everywhere and not all his children have been identified, so we might presume Navier COULD be an unrecognized son.

Currently Victor is boinking Reina's half-sister (didn't I hear Reina say they have the same father but different mothers?). Unless he's a pervie he wouldn't be boinking his own daughter, OBD.

HELP!!! What did I miss?
Anita, confused and excited.
