Lo Que La Vida Me Robo 186, July 31, 2014—Maria Loses Her Head

Robo 186 – Maria Loses Her Head

Robo has dealt out dreck with a liberal hand,

And bade us sit down and enjoy it:

We could not but own that the protags look grand,

Personal trainers keep them SO fit.

But give TOO long a story and Televisa chances
That viewers with plus-100 IQ
Will stop coming by, giving glances
To see if Ale sports a new shade of BLUE.

Tonight’s actions are few, but they don’t lack import
Hang with the recap—tonight will conclude
Maria’s murder attempts; they keep falling short
Except for Sandro, the much ballyhooed
Blackhaired, handsomest villain.

As we start out, Refugio gets news
The scoop on Emeralda’s new beau
Erik is not the man Refu would choose
Refu sees him as a foe.

Armed with the news, Refu hits the Sweet Shoppe
And Erik as well, with a smack and a shove.
Erik’s declared his love for Esme nonstop
But Refu hollers at Erik, “Get out of
Aguazul, before I tell her who you are!”

Esme and Refu continue their fight
Back at their cute little casa.
Esme tells Refu that she likes the new man;
Although young he has much more sense
Than her husband. Esme announces her plan
To get a divorce. Let it commence!

Ale and Montse plan a big date.
Hacienda and precious privacy await.
“No worries!” Say we, “Just leave your kids to their fate
Perhaps Pedro will not see them as bait.”

“Take Romina and have a good day or two,”
Montserrat offers her former bad ex.
“With all these houseguests around— quite a Queue!
We hardly ever get to have sex!”

But Maria is way ahead of their game
Too the ranch she hustles, tout de suite.
She fools the new maid, to her shame.
Her plan she can now complete.

Poison it is. She’s determined to have
Alejandro, one way or another.
“Forever he’ll be mine,” she sobs with a laugh
“Mine, all mine! He can belong to no other.”

An iced pitcher and glasses are out—the day is so hot
Maria adds the poison she bought and stirs.
Ale stalks in and in her trap he is caught
He drinks a large glass. He doesn’t demur.

Maria steps out of the shadows and raises a gun.
Toward Alejandro she does point it.
She is so determined to have the thing done—
Even to Sandro’s murder she does admit.

Soon Ale’s gut starts to grumble and fuss
He falls to the ground writhing in pain.
But Maria has no more to discuss
She drinks the poison. It will be her bane.

Jose Luis is sitting down on the beach
With Child Romina, playing the good dad.
The girl, it seems, is able to reach
The Heart he had, before he went bad.

“Papa”, she calls him, and he sheds a tear
while telling his daughter the tale
of the times when he and her Mom were so dear
They were happy; they did not flail.

Jose’s old friend Refu shows up with his son.
Old grievances will now be forgot
Refu tells Jose that his marriage is done,
He’ll give Esme her freedom, as he aught.

At the Rancho Maria gives Ale the word
If, in life she cannot have him
In death she will hold him!
But Maria’s crazy words go unheard.

Ale stumbles out of the house.
He staggers out to the iron stair rail.
One step down, then a few he takes.
Poor Ale, he barks, he cries, he ails!
Now, a great fall and tumble he takes.

Maria follows after, now clutching her gut
She teeters on wedge shoes much too tall
To descend stone stairs—she falls on her butt.
In the dirt she spies Ale—to him she crawls.

Montserrat pulls the truck into the drive.
Her husband lies down in the dirt.
She calls him, kneels down and finds him alive
But surely he is gravely hurt!

Now like a bad penny, Pedro arrives.
His henchman clutches a box.
One antidote is all he can contrive.
The poison’s effect it will block.

Pedro forces Montse to swear
before he will give the antidote to her man
Montse must help him gain his heir
Victoria is part of his plan.

Remedy is given, Alejandro awakes.
But not Maria, she has breathed her last.
Alejandro is fine, with a case of the shakes,
But Maria’s brown eyes have glassed.

Finally it seems that Maria is dead
But Pedro offers Adolfo the proof
A box containing her head.
Adolfo cannot stay aloof.

At hospital Ale is good as new
But Montse has a confession to make
To Pedro she made a promise she rues
Now, Victoria’s future is at stake.

To Nadia Montserrat confesses
The price she paid for Ale to live.
Victoria’s mother is not impressed
With a scream she refuses to give

Victoria to Pedro Medina.
Nadia’s old friend she will never forgive!
Nadia gives vent to her spleen
She refuses to do as she is bid.

Montserrat swears the promise she made
Was false; she will never fulfill it.
Hysterical Nadia cannot believe her friend would trade
Victoria’s life; she will not permit it.

Vengeance! Pedro has sworn on her kids
If Montserrat does not her promise keep
There is nowhere the children can be hid,
Nadia replies, To make them safe from that creep.

For Adolfo, the jig is nearly up.
Although he is staying with Dim
It is time he drank from the cup
His actions have poured for him.

In these dog days of the telenovela I thought I would try to amuse you with a recap in rhyming free verse.

Enjoy!

Elna June

Oh my god i have never laughed at a recap so hard,Elna your work is art! I love the somg style of writing:) I cant believe Maria died so easily,it was too easy for her..Monse and Ale lack logic ,now because of their stupidity Monse did that deathly promise to Pedro. Also i cant believe she left Romina with her ex,leave her with Rosario or Dominga&Macario for Pete's Sake! I hated ,hated Nadia so much in this episode, when Nadia was venting and Victor left,i thought it was the Call Of Booty, instead he went for his (water)gun!

song style*

Thanks, CountX:

I am glad I gave you a giggle. I am toddling off to bed. It's 12:51 AM in California.

Hasta Pronto,

EJ

ElnaJune,
Exquisitely awesome! Your recap was simply brilliant. Your writing style is deliciously satisfying.

I agree that BM died too easily. But I guess we won't have to put up with her tonterias anymore. I certainly dispised BM, but what Peddy had done to her body was disgusting.

More later, must sleep.

Off to bed...hasta pronto!

Yeah,i expected Maria to go to in the psychiatric hospital/jail in the finale, sharing a cell with Graciela..Well atleast one danger is down, two to go! I still hate how Refugio opened the cursed Letter of Doom and Gloom, isnt there any order in Aguazul, the least the secretary could have done is sending a PDF document to Dimitrio with the contains of the letter by using a phone ,we are in the 21st century geez! Atleast he confronted Eric about his hidden past, now i really do not trust him ,i never did anyway from the very beginning of his appearance..

Three to go( Graciela,Pedro and Adolfo) *

Elna June, I usually don't comment on the LQLVMR thread, but I had to do it this time to tell you that your recap was absolutely BRILLIANT!! I'm in awe!!!!!!

LatinaInMD

I am truly impressed, Elna June. I don't have the patience to write verse and you covered the details with it.

This was too easy an end for Maria although it does make sense. She was so far off the deep end that I expected she would end up in the manicomio in a padded cell, which is where Adolfo should have left her when she was in rehab.

I know most of you adore our baby-faced killer, but I almost think he deserved that package for having enabled Maria do her evil.

Of course, everything that's happening now will ultimately lead to a showdown between Pedro and Alejandro, but I still want it to end with Pedro in prison. He wouldn't survive long there.

When this is all over the survivors will all need shrinks.

Tired, Friday, headache, work...then I open Caray to drink down my morning brew and voila! I'm laughing, smiling and my day is suddenly brighter after this amazing recap. What a lovely change up. As the show gets darker, we get more and more amazing recaps! You guys rock!

Color me surprised at Maria's ending, or should I say non-ending. Appropo she went out holding on to the only "thing" or person that mattered to her ever, but it was almost a blessing to end her madness versus suffering for crimes done. Sad woman, sad ending. Check another off the list.

You know, Ale supposedly has more money than, well a lot. So here's a thought...charter a plane, get the kids, the mothers, Amelia, Rosario, etc. and send them off for a stay in the states while the menfolk take care of the menacing madman. Of course, that would make sense so it won't happen. We had better not have to deal with child kidnappings now....no no and no.

Now I know the whole day with the kids was supposed to be sweet and lovely, and it was, sort of. But I have learned through years of watching these TN's that those type scenes are almost a harbinger of something bad to come. I couldn't watch without having this sick feeling while watching the Bromance Brothers.

And what will Adolfo do now? Interesting Dim put the phone on speaker. Did he do that on purpose?

Got a little hoot with Carlotta being told to please butt out ( nicely)but as any good gossipy aunt, stuck around eavesdropping. Hasn't lost her mojo.

And who the heck is Eric really? Inquiring minds want to know.

Daisynjay

EJ- I love it when you get boring or nonsensical episodes, because you always find a creative and amazing way of retelling it.

I wasn't mad at Nadia for her reaction to learn that Monse offered up Victoria. Any of them would have reacted that way. It's not about logic, it's about emotion. I then Ale says he would give his life for Victoria-- uhm, that was exactly what was at risk and Monse chose Ale's life. Not very comforting, Ale.

Well the writers have set up the perfect pressure cooker situation. Fina thinks Adolfo is a hero, Adolfo and Dim are living together in the house Dim shared with Monica, EZ's letter with the Alacran's real identity is in the desk drawer in Dim's office. This is going to be ugly and painful.

Elna June, I am in awe of your rhyming recap! I am directing a virtual standing ovation at you!!! Thanks for starting my day off with a smile.

I echo AuntyAnn's sentiments that Maria went down too easily and what Pedro did to her body was both disgusting and disturbing. It made me shudder along with Adolfo when he opened the box. I can't imagine this novela getting any darker, but the odds are it will!

For a few minutes I was drawn into the perfect beach day, with the two doting dads and the irresistible babies. My hope for JL to go back to his old self and share custody of Romi looked like it may happen, but then I remembered how he jokingly told Montse he would go on the run with Romi, and my hope is not so high.

Maricruz

Xintperuvian, I just read last night's comments and please, let me add my heartfelt support to you and your husband as he battles cancer. I will pray for both of you. I am relieved that he has someone as loving and caring as you behind him. I believe in miracles and in hope. Please let us know how he is doing.

Elna June, your creativity soared to new heights with inspiring results. Where do you get your inspiration? There was so much to absorb and to savor, detailed in perfect perspective.

It was almost impossible to choose but I loved: "Jose Luis is sitting down on the beach
With Child Romina, playing the good dad.
The girl, it seems, is able to reach
The Heart he had, before he went bad" and of course "Refu tells Jose that his marriage is done,
He’ll give Esme her freedom, as he aught".

Divine.

The happiest moment for me was JL, Refugio and their children basking in the sun, playing in the sand and delighting in each other. The little tyke that plays Ref's son stole my heart. I loved how he wanted Ref to take the sand off his hands, an action that did not seem to be lost on JL as his eyes seemed to sparkle. I hope they had as much fun filming this as we did watching.

Daisy, yes, as much as I enjoyed the reunion of our favorite couple, JL and Refugio, I agree that it was with a sense of foreboding. The scenes seemed far too idyllic. But I am going to enjoy this illusion of happiness as long as I can. I am thrilled to have the old JL back.

The cold, calculated cruelty of Pedro continues to impress me. He is finely tuned to everyone's weakest, most vulnerable spot - those they love most deeply. He knew Monse would do whatever was necessary to save Ale, even if it meant putting Victoria in mortal danger.

Fina putting Dim and Adolfo together was born out of desperation. A blessing and a curse for Adolfo as he will have access to information although he is powerless to stop what at this point is a threatening, killing machine.

I thought Maria's death was fitting although tragic. The dismemberment of her body was horrid.

I wonder what was in that report about Erik. I hope we find out more.

Elna June, this was excellent. Thank you!

Diana

Well, the previews do show JL deciding to take off with Romina. Not cool at all, but I can't help thinking that she is safer off the grid with JL, than being a sitting duck for Monse and Ale who seem incapable of finding real ways of protecting their children from crazy Pedro.

Maricruz, "My hope for JL to go back to his old self and share custody of Romi". Yes amiga, wouldn't that be wonderful?

I'm glad we dare to dream...

Diana

Dear, dear elna june! How you bless us with your beautiful talent...and THIS is why we write tomes in response.

The Sickness that is Pedro is almost too much to bear and to watch. I have not watched to many TN, but I think he is the most perverted character I have seen so far.

Urban, I think casting did a good job in choosing the actor they chose for the "Adolfo" role. His "beauty" causes such conflicting emotions. For me, he is still a killer who willingly crossed to the dark side because he is a coward. Adolfo deserves whatever ending he gets.

How I wish we could have known Nadia and Adolfo's parents. I think it would have added so much to the story.

I assume we will never see Tia Pru again, either. I would sure like to debrief these writers when all is said and done.

Fatima

Elna June, your free verse for today's episode was pure genius! I enjoyed it so much! You are so creative, and you spoil us here at the blog with your immense talents!

I haven't watched the episode yet, but when I read about María's end, I was surprised. That's IT? After all the damage she's caused, she dies by poison? What a let-down!

Thanks again, Elna June! Your recap was a great way to start the day!

ok, before I get to the major stuff, a few minor things... why are there never any other townspeople at the beach. the characters always have the beach to themselves! and why did they squeeze Angel's head into that small hat? wardrobe, please! Montse, you see ur beloved on the ground next to that Loca. how long does it take for you to call for help or for the adrenaline to kick in and u drag ur man to ur truck! i'm just sayin...

now to Loca Maria. i'm very disappointed in her demise. not the bang I expected and we all deserved to see her get!

Nadia, i'm sorry. we grew up like sisters but i'm not sacrificing my family for you! mi amor de mi vida was about to bite the dust! whoops, I slipped into character! her screaming gets on my nerves and with Victor getting his gun, she's surely sent him off to his death! he couldn't even beat up no mas avocates! I don't think the gun's going to help at all!

I think Montse was trying to be nice to JL by letting him keep Romina for the weekend, since he helped them with Rosario. she's thinking that if she gives him some trust and an inch, he'll be more reasonable about the custody case. well, the advances seem to show that that was a mistake, but you can't fault her for trying to be the better person!

I want to know the scoop on Erik, too! hmm...what could it be??

I don't think Dimi put the phone on speaker on purpose. if he had known that Refug was going to say anything about el alacron, he wouldn't have done it. especially since he seems to be suspicious of Adolfo anyway. just not smart when dealing with a dangerous killer that would do anything to keep his identity secret!

-obsessed

I found the Nadia scene to be annoying but i laughed when Victor left while Nadia was screaming,i thought he was going to the Toilet and then i saw him grab a gun thats most likely filled with Water ,awww. It was disturbing to watch Adolfo open Pedros "present" and found whatever remained of Maria .Its kinda ironic since when Adolfo sended the Fake Arm,Pedro bitchslapped him out of disgust,is Pedro now expecting the reversal? Based on the avances i am glad that JL took Romina with him,Monse and Ale remind me of the parents who leave their children in a car on a Sun while they are doing sunbathing ughh.

Elna June,

Fantastic Recap. How wonderful to be so CLEVER! Sincere thanks for all the time you put into this.

My machine did not record the program, so I am somewhat confused as to what happened with Refugio.

1. Did he read the letter revealing the identity of el Alacran?

2. How did he receive news of Erik?

3. Why didn't Refugio act upon the letter immediately by finding Dimitrio?

4. Why was he going to the beach instead of helping Dim go after Alacran?

Thanks for clearing some of this up for me ...anyone??

Floridia-

It appears that Refugio had a background check done on Erik. He had just opened the envelope from EZ, his subordinate brought in the report on Erik. Ref had not had the chance to read EZ's letter, but he read the report on Erik and was so shocked/outraged by what he read that he jumped up, stuffed the report AND the unread letter in the desk drawer, and ran out to look for and confront Erik.

Missing a word: He had just opened the envelope from EZ, when his subordinate brought in the report on Erik.

Can't think that whatever it is about Erik is THAT awful, otherwise Refugio would be in a position to actually do something (arrest him, etc). So that would rule out criminal on the run. Now, he might have served some kind of time for a past crime, or as someone speculated the other day, he's trying to hide his real identity because he's running away from that life. Maybe he's in a witness protection program and Refugio would out him?

I lean to maybe a past crime he served time for since Refugio thinks it would turn Esme off him. Erik looked sad, little panicked, but we didn't seem him yet run off. Color me intrigued.

No spoiler...but all the signs are leading up, for me anyway, to Dim being Adolfo's undoing or the one to take him down. They seem to be playing up the "friendship" of these two way too strongly, and Dim growing suspicious.

Daisynjay

Dear Elna June,

Thanks for the brilliant and very funny recap in verse. I thoroughly enjoyed it this morning, and can't thank you enough for the time you must have spent composing and perfecting it all. Every line and rhyme was great, but my favorite stanza had to be this one:

“Take Romina and have a good day or two,”
Montserrat offers her former bad ex.
“With all these houseguests around— quite a Queue!
We hardly ever get to have sex!”

For me the craziest part of last night was that Ale didn't have any injuries from that fall he took down the hacienda stairs, let alone surviving the poisoning. I suppose the writers expect us to keep in mind how uber-flexible he is: remember the series of squats he did upon first awakening from his 7 year coma?

Thanks again, Elna June! You are amazing!
Best to you and all,
Julia R.

Long time lurker; first time poster…EXCELLENT recap Elna June!!
Re: who is helped Pedro? Has anyone seen Susana lately? Since there is no butler in this TN…could it have been the maid dragging Pedro from the study as he held onto a rope?
PBN

Dear Elna June:

This is absolutely, the best recap ever written, so wonderfully clever and wonderfully written, thank you so very much!

I'm surprised that Peddy let BM die. I thought he'd keep her around much longer. If Addled hadn't received her head, I wouldn't have believed it.

I loved the beach scenes with Refug, Angel, JL and Romina, they were too cute and I loved Romina calling JL, Papa, it was very sweet. I agree with Vivi about why JL may take Romina. Ale and Monse are not the brightest blubs in the socket so to speak.

I can understand why PBN reacted the way she did, and I knew Monse wouldn't go through with it. It was pure emotion and not clear thinking, as Vivi said, the decision that Monse made. And Vapid Victor with a gun? Hmmmmm.....

I too wonder what is up with Eric. What could be so bad that Refug would run out like that?

I can't believe that Addled is staying with Dimi.

Thanks again Ms Elna June for this priceless recap. I salute you!

Welcome PBN!! Hope to see you comment often!

I'm leaning to the Pedro helper being someone we know well. Pedro seems to think it would surprise everyone, so it has to be a regular character I think. (Frankly, I bet the maid would just let him rot there and I wouldn't blame her...the help isn't treated very well in some of these households.)

Daisynjay

Dear Elna June,

I am once more in awe of your ability to amaze and delight, to capture so much in so few strokes of your virtual pen.

I think this may be my favorite stanza (though it was very hard to choose just one):

Jose Luis is sitting down on the beach
With Child Romina, playing the good dad.
The girl, it seems, is able to reach
The Heart he had, before he went bad.

Thank you, my friend, for turning the light of your marvelous imagination on this dark episode.

Pedros helper might have been a Dentist to check on his ugly teeth ,she dragged Pedro out of the house with a rope, extracted the bullet out with powertools without anestetic ,then she did her Dentist work ! We all have been there Pedro ,we all been;)

Thanks, Vivi,

Now I understand about the unread letter. I hope they don't pull a La Verda Oculta thing with the letter traveling from person to person without being opened or even lost...come to think of it they already had a similar scenario with the letter that Ale wrote to JL from prison.

I am thinking that Erik is actually a rather wealthy, successful professional - simply taking time off to be a free spirit and listen to his inner voice. His style of life appeals to Esme, and a more traditional style might not.

I have places to go today and things to do, but I had to stop by for a quick thank you. Elna June, you are amazing. How ever did you manage to give all the facts of last nights episode in verse ? Remarkable.

Who is Busker Erik? Evidently refug knows him. Is he Refug's baby bro ?

The moral of this episode is..When you see a pitcher filled with a nice, cold beverage , do not pour yourself a big old glassful and chugalug if a crazy person is still on the loose. Malria should have been stopped long ago.

Well, I am off for the day.

All:
Thank you so much, each and every one of you, for coming by and commenting. Like many recappers, I write hoping to delight. When you are please, then I am happy.

I am making a brief cameo appearance on the Patio this morning to check in, but must away to a doctor's appointment in town.

I'll check back in later this afternoon when I return from the City.

Thanks again, all! Oh, and even I noticed that I wrote 'Buenos Noches' last night. Hee hee. Rookie error. I think I was trying to decide whether to greet you in the evening or the morning. My mistake. Lo siento.

Best to all!

EJ

Elna June, what a wonderful piece of poetry! Thanks for sharing your originality. I will not be watching this until this p.m. and am so very happy that the BM has been dispatched to the great beyond. I really do not care how she died; just so glad we have another villain gone which means we are closer to Graciela's and Pedro's anvils!

Jarifa

Refugio said to Erik, "I know what you did," so it's most likely about what he's done and not who he is. Probably served time for bigamy.

No spoiler, but from what JL says in the avances, it seems that they told him what happened with Maria and what Pedro threatened, so he decided that HIS daughter is safer with him and will keep her away from AleMon.

I don't think Maria's end was too quick and it was rather sad for me to watch. Alejandro is SO responsible for what became of her. If he had left her alone the first time he ran her off, who knows where and how she would've ended up, but she had already resigned herself to her loss. Then the idiot had to go after her and TELL her she was his MUJER, made her the lady of the house, moved her into his bedroom and took her on an extended journey. Not her fault he couldn't perform. Having been in love with him all her life and believing him to be an honorable man of his word, OF COURSE she would feel that he reciprocated her feelings and thus felt proprietary towards him. Of course she would feel it was Montse's fault that his feelings for her (Maria) changed ... and OF COURSE she snapped and went whacko. She then went into a further tailspin when his plane went down, which allowed that slime BASURA to take her even further down into the drug/prostitution world. Adolfo added to her ultimate complete breakdown by first helping her clean up but then taking her out of rehab before completing her treatment, allowing her psycho self to come back with a vengeance. Too sad, in my opinion.

Elna June, what a clever clever recap! Way to brighten the day!

I am officially about to earn my seat at the crackpot theorist table. Here goes: are we SURE that Maria is dead? I mean the last time someone was shown a box and we didn't see, it was the very living Padre Anselmo. And we "saw" Peddy deady. I, like so many of you, expected a much more dramatic end to BM. I wonder if we might still get it? Maybe he put a different head in the box with the right hair and a disfigured face? Fofito is scared to death. He'd believe anything. As I said, I expected Maria to play a bigger role in the ulitimos dias and think she still might (I definitely have been watching TOO MANY TNS!). However, if she doesn't I assume it will be Graciela who is the grand dame of destruction.

Anybody speculating who helped Peddy? The person we least expected? Not Montse, not Ale, certainly not Nadia. Did Juvy rise from the dead? Loreto? Hmmmm....

hasta luego!
Rebecca

xIntperuvian:

Add me to the list of those praying for you and your hubby for a successful surgery and a very good diagnosis.

Anon 12:28:

What a great analysis of BM and her many problems. I think Juvie also contributed to her cray, cray in the beginning. I think he is the one that set her on that path. Even if Ale, hadn't taken her on the trip, I think she would have still pined for him as she did when Ale left the hacienda and married Monse. She was never the same after that. BM never really understood what no meant!

Thanks EJ, I finally fell asleep waiting for recap. It was so worth waiting and finding your Edgar allen Poeish writing. Lately I don't feel good after watching this tn, so it really helps when all the recappers roll up their sleeves to present it in a lighter view.
I am really curious what Eric did, remember Refug told him "i know what you did?" He had also said that he didn't want him around his son. Only because of he darkness in this tn, makes me think that he could be child molester. I hope not but its gotta be something really bad.

Obsessed, we are on wave length. We were posting our thoughts on what Eric did the same time.

Maybe Eric was falsely accused of being a child molester and the mere accusation, even if those documents say the charges were false, is enough for most parents (and highly volatile Refugio in particular) to dismiss the "false" part and see red. Eric had a really hurt look on his face when Refugio confronted him.

Elna June, thanks for this poetic recap. The title was the first thing that cracked me up. Indeed. Maria sure did lose her head literally and figuratively speaking. You have lost your head if you are willing to die to obtain someone who doesn't want you in the first place. Maria's fate truly may have been poetic justice.

Poor blind Nadia... I get why she was so upset but come on. My pet peeve is that there is too much wringing of hands by the good guys and not enough proactive offensive plans against the bad guys.

I don't get how Adolfo can consider staying with Dim. He really must be scared out of his mind. We saw him move the picture of Monica so it wouldn't be facing him. I really think this is absolutely shameless on his part.

Oh, well. More drama coming tonight I guess. I still look forward to it.

Caryn

EDT, I bet you are right. Once falsely accused, its as bad as if guilty. Athough I am not crazy about Eric, I have to agree about the hurt look plus he does seem to have a pure demeanor about him. Thx for bringing that up.

Pedro’s got to know Mons lied to save Ale. He’s going to have to kidnap Laurito for leverage.

Loved the scene with Ref and Angel. His wanting Ref to wipe the sand off his hands was priceless. Excellent piece of acting on Carlos’ part. It all seemed so natural, I wondered if the baby was really his!! Letting Esme go might be the catalyst to get her to stay. I like that HE didn’t think of it like that.

I think they should send the kids to Tia Pru. She’d be a match for any of Ped’s henchmen.

Maria’s end was a bit of a damp firecracker. It did seem like she realized she wasn’t going to die with Ale. At least that was something.

After seeing the previews, I’m going to have to read the recap before watching the ep to prepare myself. I think Vic might end up being the Ultimas Semanas’ SL (Sacrificial Lamb). Nadia will blame Mons for it.

Eric only has to have done something a little hinky for Ref to be all over him. This TN has had some pretty disturbing things going on, but child molestation would be going way too far.

Nanette

I should have said that Tia Pru would be MORE THAN a match for any of Ped's henchman.

ITA. That scene with Refugio and his son was so natural-- the little toddler actor happily playing in the sand, and then wanting his "daddy" to wipe all the sand off his hands made me laugh a bit. I also liked that Refugio said he would give Esme a divorce and her freedom. He acknowledged that he just can't accept his wife being a pole dancer. I can accept that. At least he knows himself.

Wow, seeing the "proof" of BM's death literally knocked Adolfo on his butt!!!

Jarifa

I also like that Refugio got that little dig in at JL. When he told JL that Esme had asked for a divorce and JL asked, "So now what?" Refugio replied, "Well, I'll give her her freedom. I'm not going to make the same mistakes you did!" Awesome!

Thanks, Elna June. I'm amazed you not only get all the details, but can put them in verse! And make it funny!

I, too, am wondering what Erik could have done. I mean...Refugio once killed a guard so JL could escape going to prison. So his standards for good behavior are not exactly the most lofty.

Ale and Montserrat just baffle me. "There are multiple crazy people on the loose who want to murder us and will use our children to get what they want. Hey, let's leave the kids behind and have a romantic getaway!" 'Cause what's a little mortal peril for your kiddos when you're horny?

EJ, You are so talented and creative. Your epic poem is almost in the style of A. Noyes in " the Highwayman" but way way better. Thank you.

What if Pedro's helper were Father Anselmo?

Carlos:

Do you think this was a fitting end for Maria?

Just A Gentle Reminder

This is a spoiler free zone. If you have seen the ending of this TN already, please don't put anything up that gives it away. We all want to watch in real time, painful as that may be, until we actually see the ending. Please no speculation on your part, if you have already seen the ending. Thank you so much for your cooperation.

I dont think it was Padre Anselmo,he was very shocked when EZ demanded that he keeps the dirty secrets as a confession, also he tried to stop EZ from leaving ,before he got shot on the Podium.I think Eric or Kevin have something to do with Pedro, maybe they setup the Macario DNA plotline just to in the end toy with us and revealing that Macario isnt his son and then Kevin would reveal his true colours,i think that when Kevin said that she died out of a heart attack that it was so convinient to him..He might have poisoned his mother and is secretly one of Pedros goons.Hopefully my theory is not true ,the novela is already very dark anyway..

This soap is so stupid now it is almost unwatchable.

With Pedro on his Venganza Tour, nobody should be going anywhere, yet Ale and Monse do just that and arrive separately to boot with no security.

What happened to the poisoned pitcher? I hope that none of the criada was thirsty.

Oxnard- Thanks for pointing out that Monse drove and arrived ALONE to the hacienda. LOL! Wow! What were they thinking?

Vivi: With regards to this TN, the only thinkers are us.

Oxnard:

The servants were all dismissed by BM. She told that new housekeeper that she (BM) was in charge and they weren't needed for the weekend.

Not only driving alone, but what about the three stupids, lollygagging around town, all in full view of everyone, giggling like teenagers and shopping for wine and sexy lingerie. Really, idiots?

Obsessed 12:49, I removed your comment because it was deemed to be a spoiler. We are allowed to speculate but actual knowledge of episodes disguised as speculation is a no-no here!

Elna June---So cool. I have never read a recap done like poetry before, what a nice surprise.

Because of Maria's past most of you guys didn't like her demise. I
thought it was fitting. I mean, she died wrapped around the love that she could never have. No more pain, no more anguish---it's
all over now. Too bad that she got in with the wrong people, things might have been different.
So sad that the padre couldn't help her get her life together.

A side note---The actress playing Maria, Grettell Valdez was in the first novela that I ever saw. She played a young girl in High School--in Lo Que La Vida Me Robo
she became an obsessed killer. WOW! Well I guess that if you want to work, you take the offers
that come along.

Daisynjay---LOL About Carlota. As any good gossipy aunt, stuck around eavesdropping.

The children at the beach was adorable. It's hard to picture a mean JL after that beach scene last night.

Diana mentioned that Fina put Dim and Adolfo together. Did I miss something here? Did neither of them have a place to go? Dimi seems to be suspicious of Adolfo
so they room together?

Obsessed---I was thinking exactly the same thing, stop crying and call an ambulance. What's wrong with you? Others have said that Montse isn't the brightest bulb.
Well, Alejandro isn't either so I guess that they match. Call an ambulance and then cry, how hard is that?

Julia Rold---He didn't have any injuries from his fall down the stairs. LOL! He's the beautiful,
handsome star.

What was said when Dimi's phone was on speaker? Adolfo didn't look
happy.

Don't worry about Victoria folks, Victor is ready for action, he will protect her and Nadia too.
Peddy---Don't mess with Victor.

must see tv tonight.

Oxnard Huero--- This soap is so stupid it is almost unwatchable.
Oh! CI wasn't the only one?
the gringo

Wow! That was awesomely Fantastic!I LOVED this recap!!!

I don't know who said it but I agree, Montse needs to kick some butt. I'm tired of her crying ass! Contrary to these statements, I like this character, it just frustrates me that these writers continue to write Damsels in Distress. We want to see some Ass kicking Women in these roles that do more than cry at the drop of a hat. Which I love, Angelique can cry like no one's business but she also looks to delicate! I'm not even going there with Nadia.

OK, again, loved the recap! Thanks!

Santi

Not only did Ale not have any injuries from his fall, he and Montse probably hoofed it right up to the bedroom and got busy as soon as he woke up and Pedro was gone with Maria. Galanes are just that virile! In Mi Pecado, Julian managed it in a lake after being shot!

Gringo, Fina thought that Adolfo was too vulnerable where he was, with his injuries and Pedro on the loose, so she wanted him to stay with Dim because somehow (?) she thinks that will be safer. So he's staying with Dim now.

When Dim's phone was on speaker, Refugio told him that EZ's secretary or whoever had dropped off an envelope that he wanted delivered in the event of his death, and Refugio thought it might contain the identity of El Alacran. Adolfo heard all that.

Adolfo keeps refusing the have protection (guards), which Fina has wanted him to have since he was beaten up by Pedro. So Fina's solution for him, particularly while he is so busted up and vulnerable (he doesn't have Ale's fast healing abilities), is to stay with Dim who can keep him safe. When the truth comes out, however, Dim will likely be the one trying to kill Adolfo!

Elna June, I just love it when you wax poetic. We need more narrative verse in our lives and fewer abbreviated text messages. As our drama sinks into a heap of basura, it's beautiful to see our recappers spin straw into gold.

I didn't want to see the grisly contents of the box that knocked Fofito for a loop, but I wouldn't have minded a two word description from him.

I never enjoy seeing children in grave danger, but I'm sure we'll see it from Pedro. He loves extreme stuff like that. Forgot to mention how the previous episode had the great cell phone throw from Pedro. Equal amounts distance and force, brought back old times.

Maria's end was both a relief and a letdown. Next!

I'm the one who said Monse should be kicking butt (in the Weekend Discussion). I wanted to see her kick Maria to the other end of Mexico.

I hope the Mexican viewers felt the same.

BTW, Grettel Valdez played the murder victim in Leticia Calderon's episode of Mujeres Asesinas. Within the same channel is Angelique Boyer's episode, which is equally shocking.

Jane Pepplar--i, like most people on here, am watching this show in REAL TIME! I don't know what I said that was deemed a "spoiler", but everything I posted at 12:49 was speculation! I would sure like to know what got my comment deleted tho (glynntw@yahoo.com). I hope it wasn't what I said about Erik cuz Novella Lover made the same comment at the same time! Maybe the people who ARE watching ahead are too sensitive/suspicious! Is it because I'm new here and can't be trusted? Maybe I should go back to being a lurker and stop commenting! So much for me finding an outlet...

Elna June, Elna June, You have raised the recapping bar to the rafters. You have taken the meanest, darkest of episodes and distilled it into a delightfully quirky poem!! A whole POEM!! Wow, are we impressed? Oh yes. Thank you, thank you.
I was distracted from part of the episode so did not make the connection that the head in the box was Maria's. Is there any chance that she will crawl out of some hole to still menace Monste or the kiddies? I also wonder if Mama Meanie (Graceless) is faking her fatal illness. Her showing up like the evil witch who wasn't invited to the dinner party showed a bit too much energy for my taste.

The number of faces that look like their goose is cooked was almost laughable. I hope Eric isn't someone who hurts kids. I think Refu would have taken HIS head off if that was what he learned in his report/investigation letter. I was sorry to see his pretty face looking sad. But this TN is full of angelic faces covering up evil hearts.

Hola all! It's so nice to come back to the Patio Of Lowered Expectations and find that it is doing a booming business. And I only had to duck a couple of launched nerfazos as I came through the door.

EJ, I am in complete awe of your poetic prowess. Bien Hecho Amiga!! Your title started me off with a healthy guffaw and your masterpiece kept me laughing throughout. Every line is quote-worthy, but this was pure, insightful brilliance:
Ale and Montse plan a big date.
Hacienda and precious privacy await.
“No worries!” Say we, “Just leave your kids to their fate
Perhaps Pedro will not see them as bait.”

So sad. So true.

Recappers, I have been enjoying catching up on all your imaginative, hilarious and beautifully written masterpieces. I already knew what a clever bunch you are, but I have had a feast of a time enjoying your recaps and being delighted anew with your words.

I am back in the good old USA for a while and I look forward to joining y'all on the patio as the dummkopfs of Aguazul, (both good and bad, they are all idiots except the wee ones), go hurtling toward their fates.

Salud!

Cap'n Sylvia Sharkbait -- as I live and breathe! What a pleasure to have you back on the Patio. You certainly picked a fabulous day to show up. Woo hoo!!!! Welcome home!

It was satisfying to see Nadia yell at Monse for a change. What Monse did was selfish and wrong. You cannot promise to sacrifice a child for your own gain. Nadia put Monse in her place and was completely justified.

It's nice to be back, dear Maven. Every day I appreciate how much we have here. Being able to drink potable water out of a faucet (without having to make it myself)...ahhh, such luxury! I missed you folks and thought for sure this nutty novela would have ended by now. The good: I get to join you for el gran final. The bad: It is still airing and the characters are as silly as ever. Worse even! I'll admit I was relieved to see Padre Anselmo's character revived, no matter how unlikely the plot. As you can see my beanie is firmly in place (and it fits a lot better than little Angel's beach cap).

I thought Maria's end was tragically fitting. I'm not sure I needed to see the witch suffer more although she certainly deserved a lifetime in the manicomio. Must've been hell to be in her head. Speaking of which, that head in a box bit was just gross. Blech.

Oh yes, Sylvia, as silly as ever. But we haven't been idle, no sirree bob! We have built ourselves a Bunker of Ironic Detachment for those times when the Rainbow is Enuf. Elna June has seen to the wine, so you as you might imagine, we are quite comfortable.

AHOY, Captain Sylvia. so good to "see, you here. I have missed you and your most excellent sense of humor, Welcome home ! Belly up to the bar , and I will buy you a drink.

EJ, this was one of the finest pieces of iambic pentameter I have ever seen! I read verse after verse, marveling at the quality of each and every one! WOW.

Capn, so glad to see you back! ITA, the character's leave much to be desired.

I, too, thought the advances were more revealing than usual last night.

Julia R; your recap last night was so funny, I laughed so hard!

Gloria and Urban, so loved your recaps this week. Sorry for lurking on the darker edges of the patio, my job has been crazy lately.

Cap'n:

It is so wonderful to see you back here for Robo before the end. I can't wait to get your take on these characters and what the Que, the hellz is put with them. Welcome back!

Jane Pepplar- regarding the deletion of Obsessed's comments because you believed it was a spoiler. Its true I had posted the same thing at same time!! When you say someone posted a spoiler then that is a spoiler in itsel. I guess its true about Eric having something on his report about a sex offense. I dont understand how anyone can tell if a commenter is spoiling or speculating correctly. I feel it was unfair to Obsessed to call her out especially if she is lurker turned commentator. All I am saying is it was not very hospitable and might not be true.

Novella Lover,

I have emailed Obsessed to right the wrong so to speak. I won't say how we know a Spoiler when it is brought to our attention. Suffice it to say, we know. We really want to keep this Blog spoiler free. Thank you for your comment.
